PSA
We don’t brag that ‘we won’ we uh just watched and loved the actual show and main characters and if you wanna rewrite the entire show (how’s that going) then maybe you should find another show/thing to obsess over because you clearly hate spn
There is no ship war because the only ship that is canon (platonically) is Sam and Dean and there’d be peace if you’d just stay in your lane and just enjoy Destiel as fanon and not take over every tag like Sam’s with posts that have nothing to do with Sam
Us ‘evil bronlies and wincesties’ actually care about and love the characters and show and you despise them
I have never seen the venom and delusion that you all spew from any brothers or J2 fans, never seen them tag actors with utter hate and poison or send horrible cowardly anonymous asks. We are just here trying to love and support our show and characters/actors we love and you all make it SO HARD. Why should we have to defend canon?!
Also the ace erasure and offensive bisexual sterotypes you talk about to convince yourselves Dean is bi is horrible and you have zero respect for Dean or Jensen.
The utter hate and poison directed at Jared makes me feel sick. If you don’t like someone fine but bullying and spending your time hating on them is a horrible thing to do and you need to take a long hard look at yourself and just focus on things you love because otherwise eventually all that hate will turn inward and the only one you’re damaging is yourself.
Jared and Jensen deserve so much better than all this drama and I just hope they see enough love and support sent their way to drown out those hateful voices.

Makes me so happy being in the Merlin fandom because hearing how welcoming it is for new and old fans, people who may have just started the show or those who watched years ago and are still blogging or inspired to blog now.
I’m proud of us not only for enduring and being the immortal fandom but for everyone’s kindness and warmth and generosity and talent and sheer magical spirit and energy <3 Drama free for 1500 years.

I've (probably) said it before but I'll say it again, If you dislike the relationship between Sam and Dean in Supernatural and put 'dni bibros' in your blog and if you skip the early seasons, the seasons which are the best and most important, you are not a fan of the show in anyway shape of form because the show IS about Sam and Dean, always was, the heart and soul of the show it was always their story.

I feel like the Elrond of the Merlin fandom.  My blog is ancient.  I lived through Bradley’s video diaries, illegally recorded comic con trailers that I stayed up all night waiting for them to drop, screaming over the first BBC trailers, EMBRACE ROCK, biting our fingernails whether Dragoon would be in the finale, the agony of Christmas Eve, when landofmerlin was still here, the NTA’s ‘beaming with pride’ and Colin like a champ winning it all and bonus Merlin casts faces when Downton won  (the list goes on) ALL IN REAL TIME.  I miss those halycon days.
I was there Gandalf.  Three Thousand years ago.

Review: Tamayomi
[will contain spoilers]
Lately I have been pretty bored with the recent developments in Daiya no A and Oofuri. New Shonen anime stuff just don't appeal to me, so I bit the bullet and watched Tamayomi for at least one episode a day.
Tumblr media
Like me, people would normally think "HOW TF ARE THEY GOING TO PLAY BASEBALL? AREN'T THEY WEARING SHORTS??? IS THIS JUST FANSERVICE?? OMYGOD"
But I did it. I watched the whole thing. 12 episodes.
And I enjoyed it.
THE SETUP/PLOT
pretty standard fare
Pitcher Yomi Takeda accidentally reunites with her childhood friend who's actually a nationals-level in middle school catcher when they both end up in the same highschool.
School: former powerhouse located in Saitama, now baseball club is almost non-existent. Yomi and a few other will try to revive the team from scratch.
Basically Shin Koshigaya is a brand new team where they struggle to look for new members and majority are first years.
They have to face other stronger teams even when they have a few members and some decent players.
Demographic is SEINEN (like oofuri, last inning, one outs, etc.)
CHARACTERS
Tumblr media
Yomi Takeda as Main character and pitcher- skilled, resilient, funny, hardworking, does a lot of research which enabled her to perfect her form and hone her breaking ball. She keeps improving in a good pace too.
Tamaki Yamazaki former childhood friend of Yomi. Is a decent catcher in middle school. A bit well known. Good communicator.
Yoshino - team manager and coach. srsly she is a boss. She's not infallible but she tries her best.
and other decent players with adequate skill
For a sports anime they have decent cast. This is probably the closest we can currently get of a story where the girls are just focused on the sport, do their own strategizing/planning/training. All of them are cute but also serious about what they do.
There's no boys here so there's no talk about het-crushes and other distractions. It's a clamfest babyyyy.
I've seen a little of Major 2 (the one abt the son and his coed team) and I couldn't stand it because it was just slice of life in sportsy undertones.
There is also decent communication among all the players. It's pretty refreshing to watch. The catcher is well rounded and the pitcher is good. Everyone talk things out and there is not a lot of drama.
FANSERVICE
Wearing shorts to a sport that involves a lot of making contact with the ground is just illogical lmao.
Their school uniform skirt is pretty short
A little bit of their manager prodding the thighs of each person she meets but with good reason (she can tell how much muscle/exercise a person does just by a little prodding). It's a trope thing.
That's all. There are no panty shots, unnecessary locker room nudity, boob action, see through sweaty shirts. Most of the cringy things I've seen in other girls sports anime aren't present.
Eventually I even forget that they're wearing shorts or that it impedes their performance. It seems like it doesn't matter much to the characters so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don't know if like the hugging or holding hands is considered fanservice. In my experiece we ladies just act like that irl. What they do is nothing out of the ordinary.
REALISM
3/5. They wear shorts and dont tie their hair up. The baseball part seem pretty decent though. The pacing of the story and matches was like watching IRL Koshien. It's all very clinical and straightforward.
Plus they include a lot of interesting baseball stuff which I haven't seen happen in early stages of other shonen anime like: specifically training the pitcher in other positions, showing what fielders yell to each other, letting other relievers start to reserve their ace (ppl can yell DnA did this but remember Tanba was injury boy throughout Act 1).
COMPARISON TO OTHER BASEBALL MANGA
based on technicality Tamayomi is prolly one of the top among baseball anime/manga I have seen.
Last Inning
Oofuri
Tamayomi
Daiya no A
Now don't chase me with pitchforks because of this ranking just yet. The fact that Shin Koshigaya coach's decisions and reasonings for plays and lineups are discussed makes the show at par with Last Inning and Oofuri. (we dont see DnA kataoka talk abt this sht like..ever)
Moreover Tamayomi has similar vibes to Oofuri/Big Windup but less dramatic. I do not think it's good for beginners too (especially with just 12 episodes). You need to have prior baseball knowledge to understand what the characters were doing.
However, this show is probably the most no-fuss baseball anime/manga I have watched. It does not rely on hype like DnA and it also don't have heavy topics like Oofuri and Last Inning. It's not wacky like One Outs and it's not uber slice of life like Cross Game. It's just baseball.
My minor complaint is that they don't give numbers when talking about things like pitching speed tho. It would've been more realistic if actual numbers were dropped XD
ART/ DESIGN/ANIMATION
A.k.a the thing most viewers complain about.
Character design is subpar. Everyone's faces are almost the same. You can tell who's the character not by face but by hair and height. Personally I don't mind this. I don't really look for realism in most things I watch. And I think the hair designs are cool.
Tumblr media
Lots of people drop this show because of bad animation. There are shots/scenes where it's like I'm watching fanmade AMV's in nicovideo/youtube from the early 2000's. Pitching motions and Batting motions look like character movements in rpg games.
It's not really a problem for me though. I think it's charming for some reason. I don't mind it. A lot of people do but I'm not them.
CONCLUSION
NGL I wanted more. 12 episodes is too short. I hope a better animation company picks this up. I'm rewatching the whole thing because I enjoyed it a lot. I'll even check out the manga if I have time.
If anyone's interested here's my tamayomi livetweet thread
This is one of the closest thing I could get to what a decent girl sports anime looks like. If the character designs, art, animation and the uniforms were just better this show would have gone pretty far.
Compared to Shonen types of manga this was relaxing to watch, especially before bed. I'd honestly recommend it you wanna watch smth that doesnt involve a lot of feelings and drama but still feel like watching an actual sport.
Girls are fun. Finally.
Tumblr media
[personal notes under the cut]
I get that people reading this would think I'm being too optimistic about a show they considered shtty but I kid you not, I dropped Bakuten (boys gymnastic's anime) coz even with it's wonderful animation i thought it was boring af.
I have dropped so many prettily animated shows coz i just cant get into the characters nor the story.
I've also said before in my Two Car review that I am actively avoiding shows with popular VA's. Idk much abt female VA's in anime, therefore watching Tamayomi was the perfect solution for me.
The reason I like tamayomi so much is that it gave me the same feeling of watching Summer Koshien 2021. I just think an anime that made me remember that kind of feeling was cool.
I'll rewatch hanebado next. wish me luck.

Thinking back to when Pran asked if Pat ever had a secret crush because he seemed to get everyone he wanted.
Which means Pat has been a flirt through high-school and Pran has been watching him switch from one crush to another (as we know from Paa, usually not very long or successfully).
1. This must have hurt for Pran, to watch his own crush like that.
2. Pran was always Pat's constant. No matter how he flirted with girls, he came back to Pran and wanted nothing but to make him happy, even back then, and spend time with him.

musing with @teresis about how Phupha deserves a nice vacation in peace after all the emotional drama I put him through in my fics (especially as soon as the last chapter has been uploaded) and my mind quickly went to:
what about a crossover with mod? in the woods and mountains? perfect!
Poor Phupha, he would never get his peace then! XD

The way Pat and Pran looked at each other when they heard about the last task of two people sleeping in one place? The way they again and again looked at each other with so much raw hope and yearning because they wished to draw the same ones again so desperately. But they also knew that it would change everything if it would happen. So there's also a bit of fear in Pran, but mostly it's desperate hope and disappointment when it doesn't happen.

The lovely comment of the lovely @ommited-miscellaneously made me realise another thing about Pat’s behaviour in episode 6.
Pat was left behind, over 3 years back. He was left behind and heartbroken and didn’t know why or what exactly had happened, only that it was somehow his fault. But he never got to talk to Pran about it and was lonely and miserable and helpless.
And this time there is the danger of it happening again. Of Pran vanishing from his side (even tho not by a transfer this time but by his own volition and for a good reason) and leaving him alone once more.
But this time, Pat knows about his feelings and he still knows how he felt back then. This time, he doesn’t want it to happen again and he doesn’t want to helplessly stay aside and watch Pran go with no chance to change a thing.
That’s why Pat seems to have no self-preservation. This is why Pat gives it his all and stays close and wants to talk about it. This is why he doesn’t let go. Because he’s experienced it once and he doesn’t want to be left again.

Digimon Adventure: Ep 19!
Wow! That certainly was an Episode!! It was pretty fun from start to finish, though nothing mind-blowing, but it was definitely the ending that made me gasp. Not wholly unexpected to an old turnip like me, but promising lots of fun (and angst!).
Picture of the week: MIKO, THE TRUE STAR OF THE SERIES!!
Tumblr media
no for serious are the writers reading my reviews? they keep giving me what I want. within reason I guess. They seem to have an extremely limited budget as usual x’D
but Miko is still adorbs
ok I’m really looking forward to recapping this one so let’s get to it!
So last week I thought the kids sans Taichi and Yamato were abducted by Devimon, but apparently that either isn’t the case, or it was, but then Devimon decided it’s best just to dump the kids back on Earth and hold on to their partners. Because that’s the current situation. While concerning that the kids are separated from their partners, it’s probably best this way, since Devimon appears to be sending Gesomon(?) and Parrotmon(?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to the human world, if I remember right. It’s hard to remember what happened in the first fifteen seconds kay So when the kids find their partners it will probably be in the human world and they can fight back.
Meanwhile Taichi and Yamato are alone and very Confuse
Tumblr media
Taichi tries frantically to contact Koushirou. The others too... but especially Koushirou.
Tumblr media
Finally he gets him!! He’s so happy!! My Taishiro heart flutters!
Tumblr media
But I was fully expecting it to be a trap. When I saw this still here, my first thought was “Devimon’s forcing him to tell Taichi a lie by threatening him with a gun!!”
of course thats not whats happening. Koushirou is relatively fine and there are no guns (yet). What’s happened is the other kids have been sent back to the human world for reals this time!
Tumblr media
This show is not even bothering to hide its Taiyama angle.
Tumblr media
They spend the entire episode giving each other Significant Looks like this. The entire episode.
Now where’s Jou through all of this, you ask?
Tumblr media
He went to talk to the police. He’s shocked they don’t believe his story about monster attacks and the world ending (well, at least Tokyo ending). I freaking love how taaaaall Jou is. Though it makes Koushirou look like a bean x’D
Jou = beansprout / Koushirou = bean
Koushirou has a much easier time dealing with the news that the police don’t believe them. He’s a denizen of the Internet. He knows how people’s minds work. And he has tons of chat logs to prove it.
Tumblr media
People are chatting and spreading gossip and disbelief and complaints, but my favorite is the comment that just says “It’s a flood of fake news” xP
The home team runs into Mama Yagami! Who Sora literally calls Mama Yagami! x’D I mean I know that’s how kids generally refer to their friends’ parents but I still lol’d.
Tumblr media
So un... Jou is almost as tall as Mama Yagami. LMAO. I’m gonna assume she’s short. Jou might indeed be quite tall for his age but Sora and Mimi are pretty close to Mama Yagami’s height too. I guess we haven’t seen Taichi standing next to his mom yet! With his hair he’s probably taller than her.
Tumblr media
So Mama Yagami is HILARIOUS and I’m so glad that’s a continuing thing in the reboot! She was already that way in 99 Adventure, but we’re just seeing a lot of it now - like every time she’s around. (And we didn’t see it in Tri so I missed that.) Basically she seems like a basketcase. Not a totally irresponsible one, more like just... generally the carefree go with the flow type. Which is not bad. She just also seems a bit, uh, ditzy?? I think Taichi probably grew to be so serious by necessity. Dad’s busy with work and someone’s gotta make sure mom doesn’t leave the house without her keys!
The way Sora just stares at Hikari like “explain??” after Mama Yagami thrusts Miko at her and runs off to get her car with a big smile as if they hadn’t all nearly died recently... bahahaha.
also I love how she doesn’t even bother asking her son’s good friend if she knows where he is after not seeing or hearing from him for three full days
Tumblr media
^The face of a boy shouldering the weight of nuclear family life and all its batshitness
Tumblr media
Taichi and Yamato determine their priority is find the Holy Digimon. I wish they were a little more concerned with what happened to their friends’ partners, but I guess this is the only goal with solid clues. Anyway before they can do anything they are attacked by Bulbmon Looks like subtitlers went with Valvemon which also works, who looks like a Lego monster creation by an eight year old (and probably is).
Tumblr media
He has the Domo face. Grrraaah
Tumblr media
Domo is NHK mascot by the way. bahahaha
Tumblr media
Next these guys come swarming out of Valvemon. (And if we didn’t already get it, apparently Digimon can construct other Digimon as we’ve seen before.) Nothing is quite as freaky as gas masks. They are commanded by Minotaurmon/Mintaromon whatever.
Tumblr media
They too have the aim of Stormtroopers though so our heroes will be fine...
Tumblr media
... probably...
Tumblr media
... then Leomon finally shows up!! Yay! He looks good! All beefy and scarred and sounding exactly like Zaraki Kenpachi. Uhh. Is it the same VA?? Nothing comes up in the Google search so maybe not but it sure sounds like him. (Minotaurmon and Ogremon also sound like Leomon... while it’s normal for VAs in kids shows to voice multiple characters esp minor ones, it literally sounds like Zaraki Kenpachi is the voice of all the characters in this episode besides the main ones. And Mama Yagami of course because that would be weird.)
Leomon may look cool, but his ride... and his friends... uh, less cool x’D I want to strangle that ostrich thing with its own scarf somehow it inspires violent emotion in me
Tumblr media
In the smallest, most shocked voice, Yamato says, “Leomon...?” It’s honestly kind of adorable. He’s clearly remembering what Neemon said about Leomon leading the resistance way back when.
Tumblr media
Leomon helps them escape. Taichi very considerately and cutely helps Agumon aboard the fashion disaster ostrich emu thing.
Tumblr media
Yamato also considerately helps his partner but rather less cutely xD
Tumblr media
Leomon takes them to his hideout and gives them your standard fare of weird-looking Digi fruit. He then proceeds to tell them about Devimon and that he is trying to infiltrate Valvemon yadda yadda.
Tumblr media
Taichi is freaking ADORABLE, immediately concerned that by saving their asses, Leomon’s battle plans have been ruined. Leomon waves that aside though. Yamato is equally adorabibble when he asks after Neemon and gets told that they made it to Leomon safely.
Tumblr media
Leomon plans to try to get into Valvemon again because he knows Devimon’s put something related to the holy Digimon in there. Taichi is determined to join in. He doesn’t have much of an argument as it why they should be allowed when they just got their butts kicked so easily, but he has a trick up his sleeve: the Burning Eyes of Fiery Passion.
Tumblr media
Not to be outdone, Yamato shoots off his Icy Eyes of Cold Determination.
Faced with this twin assault, Leomon has to give in. Ahh, I remember last week when we saw the trailer for this ep and I naively thought Leomon would train them like Piximon did in 99 Adventure. Nope. They’ve just met and they’re already spy buddies.
Okay, okay, yeah Leomon does seem to have some knowledge of the “Chosen Children” and that’s his real motivation. Still.
Tumblr media
They break into Valvemon and we get the excellent invention of Agumon riding on Garurumon. I assume because of Garurumon’s advantageous speed. That seems to be recurring thing in this show.
Tumblr media
Idk I just capped this because he’s so darn cute
Tumblr media
I don’t know why I capped this one though.
Tumblr media
They enter some sort of central space where Leomon tells them something relevant to the holy Digimon is being kept. (Lol I already forgot the details of what he said.) There are two protectors, Minotaurmon and Bullmon. Leomon tells the kids to take Bullmon while he faces down Minotaurmon. These guys might have been somewhat intimidating if we hadn’t already got Perfect level evolutions mastered, not to mention the occasional Jogress :P Sooo I didn’t feel too worried.
Tumblr media
... uh, never mind x’D Taichi what are you doing
Tumblr media
Yamato saves his idiot butt and almost gets in a bind himself. Once again I’m just wondering why they are sticking at Adult level. Whatever. They win of course
Tumblr media
Leomon uses his Fist of the Beast King to maim Minotaurmon. His brilliant one-liner? “I have more than one first.”
Bully: *punches you*
You: ow
Bully: *smirk* I have more than one fist.
You: That’s funny, I only have one, but it’s made of titanium *You punch the bully straight through the stratosphere* Quality over quantity!!!!
*cough*
Tumblr media
Our heroes approach the secret compartment supposedly holding something to do with the holy Digimon... Yamato gets a look inside and gets the black shadow of true terror over his eyes
Tumblr media
becaue floating inside like some kind of Weapon X experiment is... Takeru!!!
Tumblr media
Hold on while I put in my ear plugs. Okay, ready, screech all you want now.
Tumblr media
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
So... okay. First of all, baby Takeru is sooooooo cute <3 I had two predictions about what happened to Takeru last week. Either he ended up in the digital world and was now on his own, or he got abducted by Devimon. I thought the former was more likely, but in hindsight, it should have been obvious that it was the second. This show misses a lot of points where I feel like they could have developed some relationships or thrown in some drama, but it never passes up a chance for Yamato angst.
So yeah, this is pretty much gonna destroy Yamato xD Not only is the baby brother he wanted to protect no longer at home where he can easily protect him, he’s now in the digital world and in the enemy’s clutches.
I BETTER SEE REALLY TRAUMATIZED YAMATO NEXT WEEK. Of course, I expect him to be cool-headed enough to try to save Takeru, but I will be very disappoint if this goes off with no break downs at all. Takeru is always Yamato’s number one priority!
Super exciteddddd
So I give this ep 7.5/10. The .5 is pretty much for ending with a killer cliffhanger. My one real complaint about this ep is how highly plot-based everything is - we finally got the team all together only to split them up, and on top of that, once split up, we don’t even get all that many character moments between Taichi and Yamato. As I said, they give each other lots of Signifcant Looks, but man cannot live on bread alone. However this is par for the course for this show and I know I should stop mentioning it every week because I doubt it’s changing. We will get the big shockers when we get them and not a moment before.
I just want Yamato to cry in front of Taichi and make him all uncomfortable x’D That’s what made 99 Adventure so great bahahaha
Some cool bits from next week’s trailer:
Tumblr media
Surprise surprise, Angemon is the holy Digimon! Or one of, anyway. And he is indeed trapped. This makes the “Angemon is Devimon” theory less likely. Let’s not forget that our heroes’ Digimon partners were evidently a band of powerful warriors in the past, but they’ve forgotten much of it. I won’t be surprised if the result of that war played a part in Angemon’s abduction.
Tumblr media
Next week they’ll have to fight to save Takeru from being drained, I guess.
Tumblr media
And then!! Digi egg! Excite. Also I only just noticed that his hate says TK!!!
Takeruuu <3 My first fav when I was 10. Though my heart has belonged to Taichi for many long years, I still have a special spot in it for Takeru only <3 Even if he does dress like a celery stick

CONTENT CREATOR YEAR IN REVIEW (2020) ✨
tagged by @dingyuxi, thank u sam!!! 😘
first creation and most recent creation of 2020: i only just started giffing again this year after more than 5 years so my first set was... um not the best lmao but it was this 2gether one from april and my most recent one is this one from run on
one of your favorite creations from 2020: i don’t have a #1 creation but all my comp sets have a special place in my heart including this one which just happened by chance. i really loved the 1st shot of the pan down to their knees touching and wanted to use it somehow and it evolved into this set
a creation you’re really proud of: for quotesets i usually start with the quote in mind and then plan the visual around it so for this do you like brahms one, i didn’t have a specific vision for how i wanted it to look like but i really like how it turned out!! and i just think the emma quote is such a good fit for them ♡
a new style you tried this year and a gifset that uses it: i experimented with quotesets / fonts, colouring and blending like with this cherry magic one, this i told sunset about you one and this it’s okay to not be okay one but i’m def still learning a lot!! esp from other creators 😍
a creation that took you forever: comp sets are my fave to make but they can be a pain :((( this found family one i did for the kdramaspace challenge took me forever bc i had to go thru the eps of 8 different dramas to find the right moment to include and i always ended up getting distracted and watching the show XD
your creation from 2020 that received the most notes: i can barely stand to look at any of my iotnbo sets now bc they’re all so lq but i think it was this one :’)
a creation you think deserved more notes: hmmm i guess based on how much love and care i poured into the sets, i would say all of my itsay ones lol. maybe this one and this one??
a new fandom you joined and a creation you made for it: i had a kdrama side blog yearsss ago during the reply 88 days but it was only this time around where i was more active in terms of creating content regularly and interacting with other kdrama fans (and also joining a network!! 💞). i really enjoyed making gifs for start up esp the fashion comp sets like this, this and this one
a creation you made that breaks your heart: this and this quoteset from itsay bc i did them after the absolute devastation that was ep 4 💔💔💔
a ‘simple’ creation that you really love: maybe this one of billkin bc of the instant serotonin boost 🥰️
a creation that was inspired by another one: this into the ring comp set i did as part of kdrama secret santa!
a favorite creation created by someone else: there are sooo many so i’ll just name a few more recent ones: this alice in borderland one by @mostlyfate, this itsay one by @tehaew, this itsay one by @loveisactivated and basically all of @mercurialhigh’s start up quotesets like this one, this one and this one
some of your favorite content creators from the year: again, there are way waaay too many that i admire so in addition to the ones above, i’ll just name a few more: @cuddlybitch, @yesdramas, @junghaesin, @winar, @ficklefackle, @bright-vachirawit, @baek1nho @dingyuxi (i know u already did this but <3) & really so so many more!!!! thank u for making my dash a lovely place ✨✨✨
i know some of you have already done it but i’ll tag all the ones i mentioned above and anyone else who wants to do this as a way to reflect on the past year 💖

My views on ‘The Untamed 陈情令’
Tumblr media
I never thought I would write a review on a drama although I have watched a lot of dramas of different genres for about 15/16 years. There is something about ‘The Untamed’ that made me want to write a review or at least write out my feelings. I’m not going to write too deep and get into all the details. But I guess this could be a way for me to get out of this trap or try to get it off my chest.
I’m not a fan of the original novel (well, not yet) as I don’t like reading so I haven’t read it yet. However, I have decided to read it as I have finished the drama and couldn’t get over it no matter how much I want to escape from it.
Trust me, I don’t usually get THIS attached to a drama or any characters, I mean yeah, the casts are handsome and all, but I stayed for the plot and the characters, not just the good looks of those actors. Especially if it’s 50 episodes long, I wouldn’t stay for someone’s visuals like I ain’t got time for that – I can just watch the cuts of that actor lol. I’m quite picky because I have seen A LOT of dramas, if I watch 2 episodes and it bores me then bye and I don't like long dramas. But after the 50 episodes, I felt so empty like I wanted more??? I know that's normal since I have experienced that before but this time was slightly different.
I personally think everyone portrayed their characters very well, despite most of them are young actors/ actresses. I usually skip or play supporting characters’ parts in 1.5 speed if they’re not as interesting as the main characters. But they kept me riveted throughout the entire drama, I didn’t skip one bit. Most characters hit me at some point during the drama, and I loved it (while shedding buckets of tears haha).
Tumblr media
Apart from WWX and LWJ, my FAVORITE character is Jiang Yan Li - notice how I capitalized the word and it's in bold, that’s how much I loved her. She’s the best shijie/ sister that anyone could ask for. I feel like she’s WWX’s half mother, she takes care of him. She is a gentle and polite woman. She isn’t powerful in the Cultivation World (she mainly just focused on cooking tbh lol it's cute tho) but she doesn’t hesitate to protect WWX. She stood up for him even in front of her future mother-in-law, she trusted him until the end even when everyone went against him, and when her parents got killed, she didn’t blame him (it wasn’t his fault anyway) and eventually sacrificed her life for him. Her death was just so tragic like I was bawling my eyes out, she didn’t deserve it, she really didn’t. She was just a simple girl that wanted the best for her family. But she is the last straw that broke the camel’s back aka WWX, if she didn’t die for him, he probably wouldn’t get out of control. It was so cruel to WWX but I kind of understand why the author did it.
Tumblr media
I also enjoyed the cinematography, scenery and OST, all of it was so astounding. Even the name of the locations were beautiful like 云深不知处 – it sounds so poetic. I loved how each sect had their own colors which reflected their characteristics in the Cultivation World. The characters also had their own OST, my favorite ones are Wen Ning’s & Jiang Yan Li’s songs – it still hurts when I listen to them, and I nearly cried few times (yes, I have a soft spot for Wen Ning, too.) I want to add that Jiang Yan Li & Jin Zi Xuan's song hurts a lot as well, the lyrics are like a fucking knife stabbing me in the chest. I thought I was strong enough to watch the MV, but I couldn't control my tears gdi. You know when you're cutting onions and tears just streaming down your face, that's what happened to me - except there were no onions.  *I was a fan of the singer when I was younger so watching him singing the song on the stage also took me back to the old days ah~ This song gave me double feels lol ;~;
Tumblr media
A part of me regrets that I didn’t watch it last year but a part of me is thankful that I finally got to watch it this year. It was already a hot topic before it even aired in China, so of course I have heard about it and I know briefly what it is based on. But I didn’t want to jump on the bandwagon and be like I’m a huge fan of the drama just because it’s popular (it’s hard to explain but I’m quite stubborn sometimes lol). Many said that you wouldn’t understand the story or the little details in the drama if you haven’t read the novel (I watched the animation before the drama, so I know a bit of the story). I don’t like reading anyway so I didn’t bother with it. Also, the genre of the novel isn’t something that I would read so that’s another reason why I left it. I’m not against any type of love, I just feel a bit iffy about reading it, which is kind of stupid now that I think about it lol. Another reason is that I don’t like depressing dramas, I used to watch a lot of those in my younger days, most of the plots are quite cliche. Although 'The Untamed' is sad, there were sweet, happy moments and it has a happy ending, so I loved it.
Tumblr media
A lot of people didn’t like the ending, but I think it was a good ending. I mean they can’t really do much as they have to pass the censorship. My interpretation of the ending is that LWJ went to sort out everything in the Cultivation World so that he could be with (or protect) WWX later. He found WWX (maybe a few years) later and called WWX’s name. In that scene, WWX’s black outfit is different to when they parted, so it can’t be LWJ came back to WWX right after they went separate ways – that would very irresponsible to do since he is the Chief Cultivator. It’s an open-ended ending, so it’s up to the audience’s imagination, you can interpret it however you like. The camera didn’t show LWJ at the end so it could also be WWX imagined that LWJ called his name. But I believe that they got together, you can just tell just by looking at WWX’s facial expressions. It isn’t that difficult to figure it out, the novel has a happy ending so yeah. I also read it somewhere that when LWJ went to meet up with WWX, he also changed his outfit but apparently that part didn't pass the censorship (wtf?) so maybe that's why they didn't show LWJ at the end.
Tumblr media
I guess the good thing is that I can’t get all the related merch, if I watched it last year, I would definitely ask one of my relatives to buy and send everything over for me lmao goodbye my money. But I would buy the physical novel when I get the chance. If a drama left a big impact on me, I would buy the novel (if it has one of course).
I think I need a long cool-off period after this drama, I don’t want to watch anything else except their bts, interviews (even supporting actors’ interviews, I usually don’t watch those), crack videos lol, variety shows, fan meeting – basically everything that I can find, I don't think I have watched everything though. When I watched a cut of the cast saying goodbye to their characters on the fan meeting, I cried again (ffs just get over it). It’s definitely one of the best dramas I’ve ever watched and would definitely recommend to those who likes Chinese dramas. Not that anyone cares, but I would rate it 9/10 (if shijie was alive, I would give another 0.5 lol). I don’t know how good the subtitles are, but I did see some odd bits here and there (I watched it without the English subtitles). Sometimes it’s really hard to translate Chinese especially when it’s a xianxia drama – making it even more difficult. Anyway, if I get to finish reading the novel, I might write my views on the novel if I can be bothered lol – I’m a very lazy person XD
Tumblr media
I kind of want to write another post just about WWX and LWJ, and how good Xiao Zhan & Yibo’s acting skills were. Basically, complimenting them for 2 pages haha. Ngl, I did fell for Xiao Zhan. I might watch it again just to focus on them a bit more. From the interviews I have seen, Xiao Zhan seems like a very humble, kind, genuine person – you can just tell from his eyes. He’s definitely a treasure boy (硬翻'宝藏男孩'). I don’t think I need to say much about Yibo, he’s super talented, I was already a fan of UNIQ when they were active. The character really suited Yibo and he did a great job portraying LWJ.
Anyway, it’s time for me to say goodbye to 'The Untamed', I don’t know how long I will feel attached to this drama but hopefully there’s another masterpiece that could help me to get over it.
忘羡一曲远,曲终人不散。

TROS Review
Things I liked, things I didn’t like...and all the things in between.
- Kylo’s interest piqued when Palpatine said he could give him “everything”. if that hadn’t included rey, he would’ve been like “peace” but instead was all “aight ima head out and find rey.” lol
-Knights of Ren walking together like if they’re about to drop a “Backstreet’s back, alright!” cover :P
- “Knight of Ren. Goals.” XD Loved that stormtrooper.
- Kylo was hawt in that board meeting. Kylo/Adam is just hawt in general.
- My boy practically daring Hux to say shit about his helmet. XD
- Ren throwing that FO officer up to the ceiling.
- Rey’s training was cool
- Kylo and Rey were meditating right around the same time. Couple’s goals!
- The shared vision of the past/future! How does Rey not know they’re soulmates by this point?
- Very nice to see Leia again as well as how her relationship with Rey has progressed.
- Some...almost all of the humor in this movie was lackluster, including Poe and Rey’s frustrated banter with each other over the flaming falcon/BB-8 which I think was meant to be funny, but they talked over each other so much that sometimes you hardly understand them and just end up frustrated with both of them.
- So it seems like Finn might still have feelings for Rey. Not really sure how I feel about that. At one point, he says he wants to tell her something but wants to tell her alone. He never gets to. I assume it was to confess his feelings.
- XD Liiittle bit of Stormpilot. Haha Poe was so jealous. “What? You want to tell her when Poe isn’t around?”
- Reylo’s first force bond vision in over a year! Kylo just sounds so hawt speaking to her through his voice modulator.
- “I offered you my hand once before.” SOUNDS STRAIGHT FROM A VICTORIAN DRAMA PPL.
- “You wanted to take my hand back then so why didn’t you?” “You didn’t kill me back then? Why didn’t YOU?”
“You can’t keep running from me, Rey. I will turn you to the dark side and we’ll rule together. The next time I offer my hand, you’ll take it. ” “We’ll see.” -snatches Rey’s necklace off her neck- Kylo’s UST was showing in this scene.
- Sorry, I’m dumb but I found that scene hawt lol reminded me of that one scene from Phantom of the Opera (2004 movie).
- Rey force healing the desert serpent. I love her...but that was a very Mary Sue moment.
- Kylo walking unscathed like a boss out of the wreckage of his Silencer.
- The power struggle they both had over the FO ship.
- The longing on Kylo’s face as he watches Rey walk away. He sees the anguish on her face at the thought of losing Chewy and he just LETS HER GO. They’re enemies and he just lets her walk away. This man is so in love with her.
- Their force fight in Ren’s quarters/Kijimi.
- “I know where she’s at now. She was in my quarters.” :D Why do I feel like it made him a little happy to know she was in his private area/bedroom?
- Kylo takes off his helmet AGAIN just for Rey. Offers his hand to her again and asks her to join him.
- The Lando/Zorii/Jannah/Pryde cameos were alright but brought little to the story honestly.
- Ok...everyone kept saying that Finn was mad horny/flirting with everyone in this movie. LMAO Were we watching the same movie? Cuz he literally never flirts with anyone in this movie. Not once. Not even Jannah. They have a brief “moment” when they realize they’re both stormtroopers who deserted but I wasn’t getting romantic vibes or anything. They were just kindred spirits.
- Darth Rey was cool. Not sure why she had fangs briefly lol. Althought brief, the fight Rey had against Darth Rey was cool.
- Rey realizing that Kylo has arrived when he picks up the wayfinder she accidentally dropped.
- “The only way you’re going to Exogol is if it’s with me.” Baes stay together <3
- Proceeds to crush the wayfinder with his bare hand and brute strength. Why is everything about this man so hawt? XD I know I’m crazy! The thirst is real loool
- Kylo does some mad dodging in this scene
- Water fight was good
- Didn’t like that she stabbed him but made up for it by force healing him.
- “I did want to take your hand back then. Ben’s hand.”
- His face upon realization that she really does want him
- So he could’ve turned sooner if she had admitted she’s in love with Ben?
- That shot of Ben on the Death Star by himself with his knee bent looking like a lonely prince.
- Kylo’s talk with Han and how it mirrored their last talk.
- He calls him dad!
- The audience cheered when Kylo threw his lightsaber into the sea! XD
- Ppl weren’t lying when they said some stuff didn’t make sense in this movie. Maybe Rey’s mom had been a nobody but her dad certainly wasn’t. And why did they skip over the part we all clearly heard in the last movie about Rey being “sold for drinking money.”
- Jodie Comer as Rey’s mom! Love it! Great resemblance!
- Ben Solo gunning it with a blaster on his way to save his space bae!
- When I say Adam looks so good in this movie, I’m not kidding! He somehow looks even younger in this movie, including his scenes as Ben Solo!
- Loved the part of course the lightsaber trick Reylo did through the force dyad.
- Rey laying on the ground, weakly calling out to the force “be with me...” over and over again
- The audience cheered when Ben’s hand appeared at the edge of the ravine!
- The way he limps/drags himself over to Rey’s dead body. ;( I could hear him breathe Rey’s name quickly. And how he gently cradles her body. His hand so soft on her neck. Him glancing around for help before holding her tightly against his body. I teared up so much watching Adam in this scene. He’s such a phenomenal actor!
- The Reylo kiss! I always knew Rey would kiss him first. The way he throws his arm around her instantly. A group of Reylo girls cheered at this part! His beautiful grin and chuckle!
- The way the audience just gasped as they watch him lie back and fade away. :/
- He did finish what Darth Vader started. He gave his life for the woman he loved and could not live without. That kiss was probably the happiest moment of his life.
- Lame how we get little of Rey’s reaction and how instantly switches to party mode. -___-
- Not even one last force ghost moment between Kylo and Rey. They couldn’t even give us THAT.
Rating: 7/10
Was not a super amazing film. The pacing was off, so was some of the dialogue and that ending was atrocious. Bring Ben Solo back, Disney! #BenSoloDeservedBetter
BONUS: XD On a side note, I went to watch CATS with my friend to try to cheer up after TROS. There’s something wrong with my crazy ass cuz I see Reylo in everything including this movie. :P You guessed it. The black and white cat (named Victoria and Mistoffeles). There’s one scene where they nuzzle and my friend (who is an anti-reylo btw) out of now where says “I would like Kylo and Rey together if they nuzzled like that.” Lmao I was like wut XD
I thought about Ben Solo a lot on the way home. I’m thinking someday if I have a son I’ll name him Ben as a way to honor him. When I got home, I just felt so numb. I couldn’t even cross the threshold. I just stayed outside for a few moments. I just felt so hopeless, especially when I saw I couldn’t see any stars out at all tonight. I teared up again. That’s all I’ve been doing lately, evening during Ben’s death scene. I feel like I’ll start bawling any day now once more time passes.
Disney, do us all a favor. If you’re gonna upload TROS onto Disney + then at least upload it with an alternate ending. Give it to the fans. They deserve  it after this torture train you’ve put them through with lie and empty promises. Ugh, I feel so empty. I feel like in losing Ben Solo I lost a part of myself/a family member. If anyone wants to talk about TROS/Reylo with me, message me so we can cry/hug/rant together about it.

Shokugeki No Soma Chapter 275
I really wanted to review this chapter because I’ve been seeing an awful lot of hate for it, which I think is absolutely hilarious. Now, just a disclaimer, I’m not saying this current plot line is fabulous writing by any means. However, I honestly don’t understand the hate for this specific chapter. After the events in the two previous chapters, I felt like what happened in this chapter was an obvious conclusion?
Of course Souma lost. I would have been really shocked if he had beat the guy who beat his dad. It’s clear Asahi was being set up as a new goalpost for Souma. Souma is the first seat. He clearly is in a very comfortable position. But in that position, there is little, to no tension. They needed to bring in someone who could challenge him.
What I do have a problem with, is a teacher-figure being that challenger, rather than a new student, or a foreign student, or a student from a different prestigious school in a different setting outside Tootsuki, which would have been more believable than this current setup. Because the biggest problem with this entire storyline is that it completely undermined Souma’s original (and what people assumed was his ultimate) goal of beating Jou.
Asahi should never have beat what was arguably the final boss in the series, and certainly not so decisively (5-0). By all means, introduce a character who has been Jou’s apprentice. That scenario is actually not unbelievable IMO. Jou is a really secretive guy, who travels a lot, so I can totally see him having taken a kid under his wing. And by all means, have the kid want to challenge Jou’s true son. All of that could have been done without Jou being defeated. That was the major mistake in this plot thread. But I’m hoping Jou’s defeat was not what it seems to be. I’m hoping he let himself be beat for whatever reason. We’ll see, though. Otherwise, it totally minimizes Jou’s place in the story, and that’s a shame.
That being said, I do understand what the author was going for. He wanted to really break Souma, and one way to do that, was to have Asahi defeat his dad, setting him up as not only this HUGE threat, but also, give him something important to fight for, which in this case, is his dad’s knife. He needs to get it back. I got that. That’s fine. But I also think it was unnecessary.
This situation, though, also gives Souma the opportunity to finally develop as a character. I’ve been dying to see him really upset and struggle. We never see that side of Souma. He’s too carefree and he shrugs things off too easily. He needs something to really devastate him, so he can build his way back from that, and grow as a character. Were there better ways to do that than this? Oh God yeah, but it is what it is.
The other problem with this arc isn’t necessarily a “problem” at all. It’s just cliche writing, that’s all. Actually, not just cliche writing. It’s a shoujo plot. Now, being a shoujo fan, and also being someone who’s been waiting quite patiently for the romance portion of this series to kick in, I think this current plot line is, as I said, hilarious, because Shokugeki is just not that kind of manga. So, the tone shift with this development is so striking that it’s funny. Asahi is essentially a giant plot device created to bring romantic feelings to the surface. Not Souma’s. That’s why his dad’s knife is involved. Souma is going to have other things to fight for besides Erina.
But Erina’s feelings towards Souma need to grow from the friendship levels they currently are, to blatant romantic ones. There is a hint of romance there already. The way she thought of Souma in the last arc felt very much like a girl on the cusp of falling for a guy. But they weren’t there quite yet, and that’s ok. Considering how very slow burning the Souma x Erina ship has been over the course of the series, it was actually a positive thing that Erina didn’t just fall hard and fast for him after just becoming friends. But now there’s been a 4 month time skip, and they are second years. They have likely been interacting far more often now, since she’s headmistress and he’s the first seat (who barges in on her whenever he wants, apparently lmao). So there’s a foundation there to build off of in a natural way… but that’s the issue.
Everything that is happening now, is not natural. That’s why it’s funny. It’s as if the author got impatient with his own story, and wanted to inject that romance element into it at last, and he wanted to do it IMMEDIATELY. So that’s why we just got an EXPLOSION of shoujo cliches in the form of Asahi lmao.  I’m not mad at it, because it only helps my preferred ship. But it’s not ideal, to say the least.
I think the author did things this way, because he was really trying to do a lot of things at once, which include really bringing Souma to a very low point, rile him up, tear him down, take away everything he wanted: beating his dad, his pride as the first seat, pleasing Erina’s god tongue. And he wanted to do this, because giving Souma the first seat at the end of his first year, was a very tall pedestal to put him on, which is very dangerous for storytelling, because you trap your main character into a tiny box. You need to give him room to grow, but there’s no higher position to take him when the story’s setting is a school, and he gave him the highest position in that school.
So, in comes Asahi in all his overdramatic glory to strip everything away from Souma, and give him a new, more immediate goal to strive for.  But the author also wanted to (thankfully, IMO) keep Erina involved too, and, again, get that romance plot finally moving. Hence, the shoujo cliche of a guy coming in out of nowhere, and declaring his romantic intentions for the hero’s likely love interest.
There’s also the possibility that the author might be trying to tie in Souma’s backstory through this connection to Jou and Asahi. That is something I’m not sure about at all. I still feel like Souma, and whatever happened to his mom, is still being saved for later, but maybe not. Maybe it’ll be introduced here, too, through all this drama. But, if so, that’s an awful lot of things going on in just one arc IMO.
Now, again, this chapter did not make me mad at all. This was very in keeping with what should logically have followed the last chapters. Souma lost badly. The trashcan thing was over the top though IMO. Wow. ^^’ But the princess carry portion at the end made so much sense in shoujo terms. Of course that happened hahaha. Now, this isn’t a shoujo though, so I’m not sure what will happen next. I don’t know how Erina will react to any of this. She’s never been put into the position before of having someone trying to romance her. So, whatever happens, I personally think it’ll be fun, because as I said, this will likely lead to Erina having romantic feelings for Souma, instead of Asahi, and it’s going to be interesting to see how and why things develop that way.
I do also think it’s intriguing that the author kept Erina very conveniently unconscious throughout the actual food match. He obviously does not want her tasting/judging their food yet. I don’t know if he’s saving it for a final confrontation where Souma comes out on top (probably), or he wanted Erina to taste Asahi’s food on it’s own, away from Souma, because this isn’t supposed to be about pushing Souma’s feelings forward, but about pushing Erina’s to the surface. But I honestly don’t know, and that’s good. I like surprises haha.
So yeah, this chapter just set up what we all assumed would happen, which is that Souma now has to beat Asahi to get his pride (and his dad’s knife) back. And Erina has to deal with this dude wanting to marry her.
I’m having a good time. It’s not great writing. Not by a long shot, but I do see the logic there. Asahi not being foreshadowed ages ago as a character waiting in the wings to take on Souma is not anything I have a problem with. Shounens do this type of thing all the time, where they produce new villains out of nowhere. And as I said, it makes sense that secretive Jou had an apprentice he didn’t mention to Souma. My only other issue, is what the whole midnight chefs plot thread has to do with Asahi’s current actions at Tootsuki. That I don’t get at all. And that’s kind of annoying. And again, the undermining of Jou. DO NOT LIKE.
But the overdramatic shoujo stuff is great. Much amused. 10/10 for the lols alone. xD

3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 14, 16, 17, 19, 20, 47, 48, 50 for the fanfiction question please?
3. What is the best fandom you’ve ever been involved in? Mystic Messenger, i think. there’s barely any drama here.
4. Do you regret getting involved in any fandoms? naaayi see a lot of people say some dumb shit, especially in some fandoms, but just ignoring them is fine enough, i won’t let it hinder my content enjoyment
6. List your OTP from each fandom you’ve been involved in. oh boy oh boy i’ve been in so much fandoms xD i’ll list only the ones where there’s at least one ship i like(there are also other ships, but for things that i didn’t involve myself with its fandom)
DTB - Heiyin
Ladybug PV - Feligette
Mystic Messenger - Zenhee, Vmc
Naruto - Sasusaku
Bnha - Izuocha
Voltron - Sheith
Vampire Knight - Zeki
Bleach - Ichihime
Fairy Tail - Jerza
One Piece - Zotash
Owari no Seraph - Mikayuu
Pmmm - Madohomu
Assassin’s Creed - Arlise,Altachali (okay i’ve made up that name, idk if anyone else ships it??)
Kuroshitsuji - Cielizzy
Snk - Eremika
Drrr - Shizuona
7. List your NoTPs from each fandom you’ve been in.
DTB - that detective and widow from eps 3-4. big cringeee
Bleach - Ichi//ruki. the ship isn’t a big deal for me per se, but its fandom is unbearable
ML - never understood the popularity of nat/chlo
Avatar - Mai/ko
Mysme - V/rika
Naruto - Jira//tsu, Kaka//saku
Fnaf - literally any ship here, jfc they’re souls of murdered children why would anyone ship that
Dishonored - Daud//Corvo (yes i’ve seen ppl ship it and??)
Bnha - bkdk
Voltron - sh//lav, also at first klonce was a notp for me but gradually i started to tolerate it, and now don’t mind it (hell, i even ship it in some fics)
Teen Titans - bb/rae
Fairy Tail - cat ships
Opm - all ships
Snk - Ere/ri
Drrr - Shi//zaya
Inuyasha - Miro//sango
Kuroshitsuji - Seba//ciel
Soul Eater - Blackstar and tsubaki
Toradora - don’t remember ship name, the main characters
Hq!! - Iwa//oi
8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom? hmmm i think my latest is DDLC. i just saw a lot of posts about it on my dash and wanted to check it out, since i like otome games and indie horrors. but not actually play them since i’m big coward xD so i just watched Manly’s gameplay. then i just went on tumblr to scout for some fanarts lol
9. What are the best things about your current fandom? there’s sooo many talented artists!
11. Who is your current OTP? currently i’m drowning in sheith hell, other that i remember put me in angst coma for good month were heiyin and zeki
14. Go on, who are your BroTPs? mmm hard to recall bc they don’t put me thru that much roallercoaster of emotions, and i liked a lot of friendships in many media. just few that i can think of atm: Corvo and Outsider, Altair and Malik, Sakura and Sai, Sakura and Naruto, Fairy Tail guild as a whole (seriously the jokes about nakama power are funny but they’re willing to go so much for their friends, their family, i spent few days crying about it)
16. Are their any popular ships in your fandom which you dislike? already listed in notp question yo, like half of them are pretty populari always reject what’s most popular in fandom before checking thing out and have to judge it myself. i won’t ship something just because it’s popular. i ship only things that pull my hearstrings. which for some reason are usually second most popular ships, that are at war with #1 fandom’s fav lmao
17. Who was your first OTP and are they still your favourite? as a kid i remember having really, REALLY strong feelings about couples in tv shows and wondered what the fuck is wrong with me, it wasn’t until over 10 years later that i discovered what is shipping and that i’m not alone xD earliest i can recall is Bloom and that blonde dude from Winx. boy i was really hardcore shipper, had headcanons, made tattoos on my dolls with their initials, couldn’t sleep at night thinking about their relationship. they’re no longer my fave, since i’ve long forgotten about them and heiyin is my absolute fave.
19. Is there a ship which you wished you could get behind, but you just don’t feel them? oh yes a lot!! there are tons of really cute ships with good chemistry, that really suit each other, but i just don’t feel anything about them?? so i’m like oh yeah i like this, it’s sweet, but i don’t ship it. mostly bc they just didn’t have any romantic interaction even hinted, and usually i ship pairs that are intended to be canon. anyway the examples are idk, ships in sport animes like hq or knb, nejiten. also Sokka and Suki, Kataang.
20. Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking? yeah, ships where i don’t like the character or didn’t like at first. like i couldn’t stand Vorona at first, but later she was more likeable and Shizuona had such nice chemistry?? damn (and he’s my boy so i wouldn’t like just any ship) also still in drrr i reeeealy dislike Iza//ya, but with Namie (which i also dislike lol) they have such an interesting relation, like she’s the only one who can keep up with him, who’s equal in cunning schemes. that’s the only ship i can think of where i like paring but hate characters lmao
47. Archive Of Our Own, Fanfiction.net or Tumblr - where do you prefer to post and why? can’t post if i don’t write anything ^^” well there is one original story that i roughly drafted the universe, but i plan to make it a comic, not write. and no idea where i would post it tbh.as for reading i don’t really visit neither ao3 or ff, i read only what i spot on tumblr, or on the two sites if some tumblr post redirect me there.
48. Do you leave reviews when you read fanfiction? Why/Why not? i liveblog whatever i think about it as i read xD otherwise i’d forget everything at the end. that is when i read Wolfy’s fic. when i read something on tumblr i write review in tags, but it’s not really vast, since i keep all weird analogies to myself this time. and generally i don’t have much to say so i keep it short.
50. How did you get into reading and/or writing fanfiction?can’t say i did, i don’t read it too often. i only read if it happens to show up on my dash and summary got me interested enough. i got really invested in Wolfy’s fics after he described one au, its world, the story. the more chapters i’ve read, the more i got fired up for next ones xD it’s just amazing, like i’m watching some good tier show in my head. mostly bc it’s not centered aroud the ship, but it’s the action story with slow burn in the background. hhhhng 10/10 my taste exactly 👌👌👌  i actually can’t seem to enjoy any other fanfics anymore bc it’s not the same style?? 😦

While You Were Sleeping Review~
Honestly.. I think I’ve forgotten everything I’ve wanted to say at this point, and I should seriously just take sticky notes with me everywhere from now on just so I can jot down notes of what I liked and disliked about the dramas I watch. Sigh. But I’ll try to remember what I can and tell you all about it, because I love telling stories. Spoilers ahead, just a warning!!
Ok so honestly the most ridiculous thing I remember happening in the drama was literally like.. Jongsuk being shot and dying……. And then when he’s like flatlining, he says “no. i must live… to tell hong joo im sorry” and i was like omfg bruhHH if that actually happened like irl LMAOOOO
That was like one of the things I knew I really wanted to talk about. There was also one other thing that i was like mhm… on but i forgot what it was so. It doesn’t matter. Unless i remember. Then it DOES matter LMAO
Can we also talk about Mr. Choi? :(((((((((( literally wtf like dude i liked him but i literally was so soooo sad when he died LIKE WTF THAT WASN’T FAIR WTH WHY DID YOU HAVE TO KILL HIM HE DIDNT EVEN DO ANYTHING WRONG T___________________T my heart hurt when he died. that was so cruel. I’m grateful he saved jaechan and hongjoo. Im sad he didn’t reveal himself sooner. He played such an important role in jaechan’s life, mostly jaechan, because i dont remember much about hongjoo and him besides that one moment at yubeom’s trial.
On that note, Yuboem deserved that life sentence man. I was like oh god what if they like.. Make him do like 20 years, that’s not even enough to make him pay. He was horrible, absolutely horrible. Honestly I wanted to go in there and punch him like jaechan almost did but gosh DARN it Mr. Choi had to step in and say ‘hey, it’s not a good idea’ and T________T he seriously did whatever he could. I totally wasn’t even expecting him to be the one from so long ago, but when the scenes from earlier in the drama came back up again, all the puzzle pieces fit together and it made SENSE. I was like ‘omfg thank you Mr. Choi, for being there for them, for doing whatever you could for Jaechan and Hongjoo, you are the REALEST.’ such a wonderful human being. And he knew how he was going to die too, ugh. UGH. UGH UGH UGH. NO. im still sad.
Now i’ll get into the characters LOL
Jaechan: i love lee jongsuk. Like idek what else to say. I just love him. He’s really tall but with great height comes great awkwardness and omfg. I loved his dorky character sooo much. He is literally my baby and forever will be my baby even though he’s like.. So much older than me idek. He’s 8 years older than me rip. Still my baby tho. Lov u. OMFG IS HE SUNGGYU’S AGE? WAIT SUNGGYU IS OLDER THAN HIM? AM I WRONG? Tell me im wrong. Im RIGHT? By a few months.. Anyway it doesnt matter bc they’re both still super cute and im melting rn dont mind me. This was pointless i didnt even talk about jaechan. I loved the fact that he became a prosecutor because his dad told him to, i love the fact that he became rivals with his old childhood tutor who left him in the dust after that motorbike incident, and i love the fact that he looked over everything just to make sure he didn’t miss a single spot. Yubeom tried to be like ‘oh, you will all fall like me, i slipped up but i just got caught. When you get caught, you’ll be in prison with me’ and jaechan was like ‘nah son, you literally brought this upon yourself. You tried to make the wrong answer the right one and it didnt work out. Ur not unlucky. You’re just bad. *drops mic* *crowd cheers* *happy ending for all* *and a fkc you i mean life sentence to yubeom*’
Yubeom: ROT IN HELL. I am forever shaking my head and tsking at him for LIFE. he honestly deserved that life sentence idgaf. Like.. how evil can you get? Man.. my brain hurts im not in the mood to be angry at this fictional character. Good job person who played the character. Whats his name. Lee Yangseob. Good job on making me hate you, you despicable Yubeom you… good job at acting….. I still hate u…
Hongjoo: suzy is so amazing. Dude like despite her having those kinds of dreams at the start, she still tried really hard to prevent them from happening, and it was so horrible. Like i would literally be afraid of falling asleep or smth like that. Also why was it almost always death? Like i guess it added to the drama but omfg if i saw myself die in a dream and i knew at some point it would come true like...idek man. Wouldn’t you get traumatized by it? Like ‘crap all these people are dying and i cant do anything about it’ DUDE!! Jaechan even told her to forget about it but then he was still unnerved by it too omfg. In this case, it worked out because they all tried saving each other and stuff but what if they didn’t know each other? What would’ve happened then? I hope hongjoo would’ve still been able to go on and become a reporter or something like that. If not a reporter, then someone who went and told the news from those desks and stuff. But i guess she liked being on the scene more, who knows. Im just blabbing at this point idek what im saying. I do but im lazy to backspace sigh.
Wootak: :((((((((( my honeybunch sugarplum, pumpie umpie umpkin… he’s literally so adorable. I loved the fact that he tried to fit all the puzzle pieces together and jaechan was like nah that can’t be… hongjoo wasn’t chestnut (son… wootak’s detective skills i stg. He’s amazing. No wonder he stayed in the police force for so long dang) I knew he wouldn’t be able to get hongjoo so i was just like it’s ok, i will give u my heart instead ok. Even though i also love jongsuk, i have enough love to give to u all. Im glad he didn’t become one of those ‘I WANT THE MAIN GIRL CHARACTER’ person like im so tired of it lol but he was a sweetheart from beginning to end. Honestly when he was like ‘stick to a secret to the end’ and hongjoo was like hm… what’s his secret? I was like oh my god. Did he kill someone???? What if he killed someone and became a police officer to make up for it? Wtf BUT THEN he just turned out to be color blind so i was happy with that. I didnt know you couldn’t be a police officer if you were colorblind omfg. The more you know. But seriously :( such a sweetheart. I love that despite crushing on hongjoo, and knowing that jongsuk really liked her too, he 1) didn’t get in the way of their relationship, even though he honestly COULD HAVE, and 2) he didn’t hold anything against jaechan. Maybe it’s because he saved him from dying, idk. But i loved their friendship so much. I would love to have Wootak as a friend. I felt so bad for him when he told his police partner that he had been carrying the weight of that for so long, but think of how much relief he felt when everything spilled out. It’s hard to keep secrets, because it’ll eventually fall apart. We’re not superhuman… talking to you wootak, wearing those batman clothes… secretive.. But still fighting for what’s right. Im glad he went on the path to become a lawyer after quitting his police job. I hope he continues to spend time with his police partner though. I wish there was more interactions between them and also between wootak and jaechan, i loved them both so much.
Anyways, i think this has gotten long enough… overall, i’d say this drama is really nice. I really liked it, even though at like a few parts i was like dude… this is extra and not needed. But honestly, the characters were amazing, especially yubeom. Idk how yangseob could pull off a character like that, but he was amazing. OMG I REMEMBERED WHAT I WANTED TO SAY. I really liked the idea of having your dreams come true… in some kind of twisted way, maybe not so much… but still, it was interesting, and i was waiting to see what would happen next. I would recommend it if people like these kinds of AUs i guess. I liked that the love triangle was less… like less. Idk how to explain it. But i also really liked the plot and how everything came together and clicked. Im sure there are some things that i’ve overlooked or smth, things that i probably didn’t realize needed more clarification, but it was still nice. I was also surprised at the two prosecutors getting married xD that was nice. A nice plot twist. That’s a random addition but i wanted to include it :P

japan week three ➜ FATE/grand order & jinro game
kicking off the week with double sana content!! as well as reo & shuuti ❤ this post contains spoilers for both FGO and jinro game.
FGO was quite a strange experience compared to the other shows and events i’ve been to, as the theater was filled with fans of the gaming/anime franchise, and not of actors or theater. i had a pleasant meeting with a girl who was also looking for the way to access the theater tho! i did enjoy the fate/zero anime from a few years ago so i kinda have enough knowledge of the franchise to discuss it www
however i got really unlucky with my seat, as i was in the second to last row ((i feel like i can’t complain when i have amazing seats for everything else but...)) and was surrounded by smelly guys who hid part of my view despite my own height... help i just want to see my boys and my girls i didn’t ask for this otaku immersion... on top of that i feel like people weren’t as familiar with theater etiquette and kept getting up to go to the washroom in the middle of the show and the like...
so, yeah, that made the experience SUPER weird, but!! it also made me even more proud to overhear & see these people who know nothing about actors complimenting the guys hehehe...
okay, on to the production itself!! i was obviously interested in seeing it thanks to the great cast of actors. sana and reo aside, takahashi yu, who plays saber, has been one of my favorite lady actresses since the olden days of kamen rider kiva, so it was such an honor to see her perform. she was so gorgeous and cool and regal and powerful... kento (A yanagi) was also super handsome, hearing his extreme lisp/potato in mouth voice in person made me very emotional okay. and talking about lisp, shunsuke who played aka ninger!! his costume was terrible but he was cute. i’m that one fan of ninninger so i was really happy to see him. and finally, ririka, a takarazuka graduate from the flower troupe!! she was so gorgeous and her singing... chilling. it’s always such an incredible honor for me whenever seigaku kids get to perform, and especially sing, with takarazuka actresses. my favorite boys & favorite girls. XD
oh, and this production had a double cast for the protagonist/player character? like the persona 3 stage from a few years ago, some shows featured the female protagonist and others, the male one. i hit a ticket for the show with the girl protagonist, which i ended up being happy about since her two main servants were also girls, so it was really cute to see them together. (and there was absolutely no heterosexual content at all, something that worried me and would worry anyone who has witnessed the mess that can be the fate franchise)
as for the negatives... well, i’ve never been much of a fan of projection mapping. i think the naruto stage handled it masterfully and tenimyu knows how to use it effectively and reasonably, but otherwise... yeah. and FGO went. way too far lmao. it was overwhelming, distracting, and, frankly, ugly. it just felt like they were covering up their own inability to come up with professional staging and lighting.
but when it came down to it, the actors’ performance was enough to make up for everything. i want to talk about reo first, because, quite frankly, he totally stole the show. aside from the opening & intermission numbers, his solo performance was the ONLY moment where the crowd applauded. people went wild, it was adorable. and... when i went to buy his bromide set after the show... it was... sold out... how does that even happen how did i buy kuroba mario bromides last week but now i can’t even get his less infamous son
reo sang with a voice much deeper than his usual, obviously way deeper than in tenimyu (LOL) but even deeper than in cheer danshi, too. honestly, if i didn’t have my binoculars to watch him sing, i wouldn’t have believed it was him LOL. i can’t wait for the DVD so everyone can hear this. and needless to say, his dancing was amazing. i think his number was approximately 3 minutes, but i didn’t want it to stop. i was on the edge of my seat expecting his acrobatics to kick in, and they did!! i think that was what probably impressed the crowd the most, since as i mentioned, most weren’t familiar with actors. oh and he looked sooo pretty... i really wished i had a better seat aaah.
and of course, sana in the leading role. he had three solo numbers on top of participating in group performances. if you’ve seen patalliro, then you know that sana is a wonderful singer, with that incredible low and raspy and s*xy voice... i was so happy to hear him singing more. ((i still loop his solo & duet from patalliro approximately 100 times a day and it’s been like 7 months. help))
the variety in the roles sana gets makes me so happy... his character was better than i anticipated based on his design, and i really enjoyed watching sana get so emotional, with both anger and sadness and admiration and betrayal. i feel like sana always puts a lot of drama in his acting while still managing to keep it believable and not too over the top. his acting during his final scene was especially incredible. i enjoyed watching him crawl around the stage
sana was really, really skilled at the action/swordfighting scenes as well. he moved so fluidly and it was so believable despite his big armor and all... so cool...
i also thought he had a lot of chemistry with his co-actresses, especially takahashi yu, something that was really important considering sana’s character’s admiration and dedication to hers’. it made me really happy to watch sana work with girls for the first time in a while knowing sana is really close to his older sister and is so in touch with his own feminine side as well LMAO.
and then he died and it was great. the performance i went to actually got a standing ovation!! this is pretty uncommon for japanese theater. the cast came back on stage 3 times.
☆☆☆
jinro game!! i went into this movie with incredibly low expectations lmao, and it was definitely highly questionable and classically japanese-thing-featuring-teens-in-uncomfortable-settings... but i actually ended up having a lot of fun. once again, the acting cast really made up for everything else.
the two main girls were so cool... they were so cruel and chill about everything happening LMAO. there was a really cool twist at the end too. i think they were lesbians but it’s always hard to know what with the constant blatant queerbaiting in japanese media. anyways
i think i spent half of the movie trying to not laugh over sana and shuuti’s characters THEY WERE SOOO GOOD. THEIR ACTING WAS RIDICULOUS AND GREAT TO WATCH... i actually haven’t seen shuuti in anything since tenimyu so seeing him in such a different role was a lot of fun. there was this scene where he removed the crusts from sana’s pieces of bread and that was my favorite scene of the movie
no actually my favorite scene in the movie was sana’s entire existence. it was so funny oh my g o d. you know horror anime/games always have that one guy who’s a total asshole and kind of a creep but you somehow can’t help but love him. well. that was sana.
sana hiroki callout post: - forced a guy to lick his shoe - made a guy eat food off the floor - shoved his fingers in a dude’s mouth - made every other boy become his “dogs” - except shuuti who was his massage giving, bread crust removing manservant
oh also at some point one of his “dogs” got pissed off and beat him up and he looked really good with all the blood+bruise makeup. wow my review is extremely objective and professional isn’t it
right before he dies we find out that he’s actually been scared and anxious all this time and was just putting up a facade to defend himself in front of the others lmao. and that’s how i watched sana die a second time in two days

Thank you! Love the high-res textures. Lately, I have been on a swap-out as many low-res textures as possible kick.
Ohhhhhh, then you are either going to love me or want to murder me in my sleep. Possibly both. :)
But yeah, I decided I wanted all the things high-res for this new Strangetown project. Mostly because I’m going to be photo-editing all the pictures and I want things as nice-looking as possible to start with and not have to worry about pixellation in the background if I’m taking close-ups and stuff. So, that means I have to make a lot of crap since I’m pretty much building a downloads folder from the ground up for it. Build mode first, since I’ll be building lots for the place soon...
bunsblr replied to your photoset “More paneling because I wanted some with narrower individual boards. I...”
One can never have enough paneling!
That’s my feeling! It’s versatile! You can use it inside as paneling or outside as vertical siding. Both were big mid-century, which is pretty much what I’ll be building so...yeah. One sets of walls, multiple purposes.
shaonharryandpannisim replied to your photoset “More paneling because I wanted some with narrower individual boards. I...”
I had resisted the pull of those sofas. But I can NOT, for the love of Maxis, resist THESE.
Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own.

That street needs a Cat Licking sign.
Orrrrr the cat needs to stay out of the road. Then again, cats like roads. Nice and waaaaaaaaarm.... :)

It's a good thing random cars don't drive past the lots in TS2. XD
They do when you have that fire hydrant that makes car pool vehicles drive by occasionally! I’m not using that in this neighborhood, though. Not yet, anyway. I don’t reckon it has much vehicle traffic, what with there being only three households and all. :)

In which my eyes roll so hard they fall out of my head and across the floor...... lmao honestly anon, get a life.
They have a life! IT IS FULL OF CHEAP WHISKEY! ;)
kayleigh-83 replied to your photo “I can’t be the only one who thinks the poses that Sim-kids strike...”
So agree! I kind of wish Sims retained some of it as they age, like maybe more active Sims stayed more "active" sleepers? Would have been extra cute!
It would have been! I mean, some people never grow out of being restless, flailing, bed-hogging sleepers. *side-eyes husband*
kayleigh-83 replied to your photo “Heh. Took a break from hurling invective at the game’s lighting to...”
That's such a creative idea to make Sim paintings out of it! I love hanging art or photography in my Sims homes that are of their own world, it adds a kind of realism I appreciate! Just like we would hang photos or paintings of our own world.
I have always kinda wanted to do the “take in-game pics and turn them into family pictures” thing...but I’ve never actually done it. One, because I just don’t have the patience to do posing. Two, because even if I had the patience I’m utterly bewildered by poseboxes. Like, how on Earth do you keep track of which box has what poses? Especially because most of them “helpfully” give the poses names like “Pose 1.” I’m just all WTF when it comes to them.
But I can do scenery pics as paintings/photos, yeah!
fuzzyspork replied to your photo “Heh. Took a break from hurling invective at the game’s lighting to...”
NICE! Also, if you ever want to hate something that used to be fun for you, just do it as your job for a while. XD
Exactly! That’s why I really didn’t want to be a musician when I grew up! I wanted to be an architect! Unfortunately, math and I have that whole hate/hate relationship going on, so no architecture degree for me! And, as it turns out, music is the only bankable talent I have, given that I have no interest in having a “real job” with bosses and stuff because I’d just get my ass fired if I tried to have one. So, here we are! Thankfully, it didn’t kill my lurve. Probably because it’s such a wide-ranging field, so if you hammer on one aspect of it as your job, there are all sorts of other things you can do for fun.
penig replied to your photoset “OK, game-graphics nerds! I haz question! (Yes, @celebkiriedhel, I’m...”
I had to look intensely to see what you were talking about. I do notice that in my game and I think of it as realism. Because you can see the lines between panels and breadths of wallpaper IRL.
Well, yeah, I can see that with wallpaper. It does have seams IRL, at least. But for flat painted walls, where the “gradient thing” is the most noticeable because there’s otherwise no pattern to distract your eye? Yeah, that doesn’t work as well. :) *still busily hurling invective at Maxis and their stupid lighting calculations and going why, why, WHYYYYYYYYY?!*
damask-wallpaper replied to your photoset “Technicolor was a series of processes used in filmmaking mostly...”
What a fun idea! Who doesn't love the technicolor look?
I love, love, love old movies, with a special fondness for B-movies from the 50s/60s done on the cheap with bad Technicolor when Technicolor was no longer cool. So, yeah, I love the look, myself, whether it’s done well or badly. I think it’ll be fun to photoedit pics for retro-Strangetown.
I kinda wonder if it might be possible to get ReShade to make the game itself look like it’s in Technicolor, but I’ve never managed to get ReShade to work with my TS2 install, so I can’t experiment with that. :(
acquiresimoleons replied to your photoset “Since his mama had decided to visit, Steven made a special dinner....”
Yaaay werewolf! (I'm pretty sure that's what's happening anyway lmao)
Yup, he’s a werewolf! :) I’ve always liked the transformation sequence in TS2. It’s so drama-ful. :)
sim-pudding-faces replied to your photo “And then it was time for Baby Aaron to grow up… Ermagerd, he’s cute!...”
Aww.. lil guy is trying to be stud at an early age, eh?
It’s all about the laydeez! Or maybe about the bois! Or maybe both! Dunno what he’ll like yet. But yes, a stud from infancy, he is. ;)
digitalangels replied to your post “Your game is so ugly. Maybe it's about time to step it up to 2017.”
I'd love to see how anon's game looks to see what is "stepping it up" in their books but I bet they're too much coward to give their name for us to see. And anyway, isn't half of the point in Sims games customizing it to look how *you* want *your* game to look like or have I been doing it wrong all these years?
Yeah, it’s kind of funny how such people who leave such messages don’t give you any points of reference. “Stepping it up” is meaningless without such things. I mean, how else are we to know if we’re “stepping it up” properly?
No, really, I think some people are just really offended by non-Maxis-match and/or using older CC and/or shinier hair/skin textures these days. But, I’m uninterested in Maxis-match (for my own game; I like looking at other Maxis-matchers’ pics, though!), and I like a bit of shine because we do not live in a matte/cartoony world, so such folks and me will just never see eye-to-eye when it comes to game aesthetics. And that’s OK by me, but apparently not by them. Or something. I’m still going with “bottle of whiskey + nothing better to do on a Friday night so let’s *hurr hurr* try to make people angry” theory. To each their own!
newlibertysims replied to your photo “GilsCarburg, in moody Technicolor. ;) OK gotta stop fiddling with this...”
Reminds me of lazy, hazy, crazy days of...fall. XD
Fall! Fall is good! I can’t wait to get this whole summer business over with! I need to live in a place where it’s fall year-round. Which pretty much means another planet, but hey! I’m game for that!
newlibertysims replied to your post “Your game is so ugly. Maybe it's about time to step it up to 2017.”
Nothing wrong with being 2008 hot. Just ask Jenna Marbles!
*had to look up Jenna Marbles because I’m totally un-hip to the whole “youtube personality” thing* But yeah! Totally! Other than finding my soulmate in 2013, I think this decade totally bites, personally. Actually, now that I think about it, so far this century ain’t so great, IMO. Tonight, we’re gonna party like it’s 1999. ;)
penig replied to your post “Your game is so ugly. Maybe it's about time to step it up to 2017.”
I think, from the voice of certain anons you've responded to lately that you've picked up my stalker. She doesn't like taking responsibility for what she says by putting a face on. And she is persistent as heck.
O RLY?! Oh, the fun we will have, then! Bring it on, anon, bring it on!
fuzzyspork replied to your link “Tips For Manipulating The Sourness Of Your Sourdough”
Ah! I needed this too! I always hated the sourdough we used to make because it was way too tangy (hubby loved it though). He works for a German company and one of the managers offered him some of her 100+ year old starter. I'll have to give it a shot.
Oh, yeah, totally. I’d definitely take her up on her offer. Even if it’s not to your taste to start, you can futz with it. You could even split it and develop a tangier starter and a not-so-tangy one, to suit both your tastes. ‘Course, then you’ve got double the upkeep, but it might be worth it...
fuzzyspork replied to your post “Your game is so ugly. Maybe it's about time to step it up to 2017.”
TS2 is 13 years old. I have no idea what "step it up to 2017" even means.
Right? I mean, TS2 is almost from the last century and all. Why must we force it into crappy 2017? I think it would make it cry. ;)
...Unless we’re talking 2017BCE. That would be cool...
celebkiriedhel replied to your photo “Steven does the annoyed potty-training faces, too. Yes, it’s an...”
But what a manly hairy chest!!
Yeah, the GilsCarbo men are hairballs. ;) Well, the three of them so far, anyway. ;)
celebkiriedhel replied to your post “acquiresimoleons replied to your post: ...”
I used to keep mine on top of the fridge - the top of the fridge was warm from the motor. :)
That’s a good spot, too! The fridges in our places are built-ins, though, so you can’t put stuff on top of them. Which actually sort of sucks, but on the other hand the aesthetics of built-ins please me, so....Rock, hard place. ;)
celebkiriedhel replied to your link “Tips For Manipulating The Sourness Of Your Sourdough”
Thanks for this! I used to make my own bread when I was younger, and I miss having a sourdough starter living in my house.
It is rather fun when the oldest thing in your house is a living being. :)
celebkiriedhel replied to your post “Your game is so ugly. Maybe it's about time to step it up to 2017.”
LOL. Lets play 'How old the anon is'! My guess is early teens, with an entitlement phase of a toddler.
Yeah, if the “whiskey + lack of social life” theory isn’t correct, then I’m going with Age ~15. (No offense to sane 15-year-olds out there, but some of y’all...)  Of course, being 15 and the “whiskey + lack of social life” theory aren’t necessarily mutually-exclusive, so...
unoriginalkirsten replied to your photo “And then it was time for Baby Aaron to grow up… Ermagerd, he’s cute!...”
That is spectacular baby balancing right there!
Like those folks who can balance spinning basketballs on their fingertips! Of course, balancing a spinning baby is far more impressive...
alicephant replied to your post “Your game is so ugly. Maybe it's about time to step it up to 2017.”
Lol how dare you have a game that you find aesthetically pleasing anon is a poo head.
Is it just me, or is “poo head” just a way better insult than “shithead?” I mean, the former, when done right, is just so much more condescending. (And not in the Regency-era sense of the word, either. ;) ) But yeah, I agree. :)
landgraab replied to your post “Your game is so ugly. Maybe it's about time to step it up to 2017.”
"I don't like *your* game, so change it!!!"
Pretty much, yeah. Ya gotta wonder how anyone would think that such a demand would actually work, that anyone would just change everything about what they do in the game because some people don’t like their aesthetic. I mean, it’s not like those of us who don’t conform to “popular” trends are somehow unaware that we’re not conforming to popular treads. Especially when our general pattern in life is being deliberate in our refusal to conform to popular trends about anything, not just a silly game. ;)

Review: Two Car
After years of watching just sports anime with boys I've become increasingly bored with every new release. My main problem is that the tropes among animes are just recycled over and over again. Moreover I have developed an aversion to being able to identify male voice actors across different works. Watching animes have sometimes turned into a "guess the voice actor" game with myself and eventually I hated it.
Therefore, since 2021 I have started watching sports anime that feature girls.
Anyhow the first anime I'm reviewing is called Two Car [CONTAINS SPOILERS]
Tumblr media
Setup
Highschool girls. I forgot what year they're in. They live on this island where racing is a Thing. Their school is a powerhouse for sidecar racing. And sidecar racing enthusiasts all over japan go there and hang out. Basically their whole island is a sidecar racetrack. Their culture revolves around it. Yuri Miyata and Megumi Meguro are the best highschool racers in their island, and also in japan.
The team is composed of these 2 athletes, 2 technicians and their coach. Before the series started, their coach left them to pursue his dreams of being a pro racer in the Isle of Man in England. He could leave the girls behind coz they were already skilled af and they had a local lady coach who could handle things. Now Yuri and Megumi may be partners but they are also rivals. They want to beat each other guts. Think momoshiro and kaido from prince of tennis. They work quite well together coz they're so competitive with each other.
Now make no mistake, Sidecar Racing is an extreme and dangerous sport. People legit die from this irl. The trust between pairs (a driver and passenger) is important because they need to balance each other AND the vehicle or else they'll steer off-course and crash (and then die).
From what I remember, this 12-episode anime focuses on the national competition in sidecar racing. Therefore the best pairs all over japan have come to the island to be the national champion. 5 other female sidecar pairs are introduced. For some reason, the drivers and the passengers are housed separately, but the pairs train and plan together.
The anime follows the histories and conflicts of each pair as they all practice to get used to the race track. This culminates to the final battle at the end of the series.
My Rating: 3/5 -the plot is pretty meh. I was honestly curious about how it will unfold though. The characters are weird and meta af, combine that with girl power and "female flavor" (for lack of better word), it's a different POV on things honestly.
Art and Animation
It's pretty decent ngl. I enjoyed watching the racing sequences and how the sidecar pairs moved while operating the vehicles. It is smooth and the colors are pretty.
Technicality
I'm not into vehicles but there were technical aspects discussed. Modifications and etc. are often shown and you can see how the characters manipulate the different parts of the vehicle (like clutch and accelerator handling, etc.) Techniques to improve speed and handle curves/bumps are also briefly explained among other stuff. I dont know how realistic or legal some of the stuff they're doing tho so..watch with a grain of salt. XD
Characters
I'd say the characters were interesting. The main characters aren't beginners and are smh treated as pros even in their own island. So you dont get that "dumb beginner idiot with freaky abilities vs loner genius" partnership that is so common and overused in shonen series.
It's refreshing to see adults enjoy the same sport too and they also help the characters.
next part is under cut because [spoilers]
The MC's rivalry is honestly so..uh...petty and icky if you think about it. Both of them got this crush on their coach (help me pls) and they want to defeat each other to become their coach's partner in the sport. It's honestly so childish? but also reminded me of CLAMP/CCS bullsht and if I survived CLAMP then this plot point is basically peanuts.
They have healthy competition tho. Both of them grew up together (childhood friends) and developed love for the sport together because their moms were the og teammates. (yeah their parents participation and love for the sport is a big thing in this series).
The other character pairs are interesting too:
announcers
twins
master-servant
lesbians (like legit sailor neptune and uranus type)
osaka girls
and etc.
Each had their own drama and they resolved it within the series.
Realism
Honestly this show is more meta than sport. Like... it's not for casual viewing. I remember there was some deep psychological issue which the twin pair portrayed. There's a lot of drama okay? HOWEVER!!! I've only been exposed to Shonen type of drama (like the USTs and hero complexes) so whatever Two Car had was unique to me!! Girls are really written differently. It easily reminded me of my interactions with fellow girls (albiet more extreme).
Fanservice
They are always shown to be in the onsen after every practice day but honestly it doesnt count as fanservice. Only their busts are shown.
You'll have to get used to shots of the butt especially in sequences of the passenger manuevering the vehicle tho. I guaranteet that there is no excessive boob action sequences and other sht.
Look I have seen stuff over the years and since this show didn't provide see-through-shirt stuff, Two Car is "fine" in my books.
HOWEVER There is a dream sequence (one of the characters dream stuff up) which is straight up bdsm (i think that's in ep 6). NGL I dropped this show for a while because of that but hah it's honestly just a few dreams for one episode.
I TOLD YOU THIS SHOW IS META ALREADY.
Final Notes
Would I recommend this show? Honestly...no. But watching this was an Experience. Against the highly sanitized world of shonen anime, it's an interesting change of pace.
First of all, in girls sports, there is a lot of casual skinship because it's normal and comfortable. And there is more communication. Maybe it's a writing flaw that conflicts aren't as dragged out but idk, we dont have a lot of decent female sports anime to see what really works. Because I am often frustrated with how slow burn most shonen are, seeing characters resolve conflicts BY TALKING IT OUT is the most rewarding experience.
Honestly I really had fun watching the whole thing. The ending made me want to flip tables tho but the rest was quite enjoyable.
Personally I think ppl have more freedom in writing girls/women. There is just so much you can do with them.
you can see my live reactions in this twitter thread lmao

Episodes 15 & 16 Goblin Review: The person left behind must go on living life
Ahh... the ending of Goblin has me feeling “bittersweet” as I have mixed emotions coming from my “reviewer side” and “fangirl side.” For this review, it’s a combination of both episodes 15 and 16.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In episode 15, the main purpose was to reveal how Eun-Tak remembered Shin and Sunny’s resolution. Eun-Tak went to Canada to find her lost memories, while at the same time she regained her powers to see ghosts; this is mostly due to summoning Shin (I think her powers in a way “reset”). In Canada, Eun-Tak learned more about the mysteries of her past: she met the designer of her necklace, met Shin at the red door they entered together, and walked through the troll pathway of the Maple trees with Shin just as she did 9 years ago. Even though she doesn’t remember, she is drawn to him and slowly begans to fall for him regardless of knowing his true identity. Shin did not tell Eun-Tak the truth that he was Kim Shin and that they know each other because he didn’t want to force her to remember. Eun-Tak’s memories returned after holding a red Maple leaf in front of the fountain where they talked about an eternal sad love 9 years ago. This scene is important because 1) a fountain symbolizes truth and 2) it’s the scene that symbolizes Eun-Tak and Shin’s fated love... an eternal sad love that transcends time (aka. the moral of the story). Notice how the way Eun-Tak’s voice changed as emotions returned to her voice. She summoned him in front of the Christmas shop where they once visited 9 years ago... And Shin immediately embraced her while giving her a passionate kiss filled with longing and love. Notice the emphasis on Shin’s hands... how carefully, but tightly he cupped her face as if he would never leave her again. AND LIFE RETURNED TO ME AS I WAS ABLE TO WITNESS A SEXY KISS BETWEEN THEM... I lost it when Eun-Tak wrapped her legs around Shin... ugh... That kiss was perfect. T.T
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This time, GR introduced himself with his real name, “Wang Yeo,” and Sunny pretending to not remember him, while she confirmed for herself that he still remembers her. We learn that Sunny’s memories were never erased because God adhered to her wish, “Water is self-service for even God, in my store. And the same goes for my life. I’ll do what I want with my own life, so I wish he’d just get lost.” With this, God decided to stay out of Sunny’s life even if it meant Sunny suffering in loneliness with her memories while everyone else forgot, “Erasing memories is God’s way of being gracious to people, don’t you think?” Sunny continued to live a successful and independent life until the people from her past appeared before her again... reminding her of the pain of being the only one who remembers. But Sunny’s character has grown to show that she catches onto situations quickly: she adapted to Eun-Tak’s lost memories even if it was painful that she did not remember their past relationship, she couldn’t believe to see her brother appear before her in his Goryeo clothing, and she met her lover once again after leaving him. What’s interesting is how Sunny retained her memories while Eun-Tak lost them... however they both were still equally in pain and suffered as they were separated from the person they loved, but they both remained strong and made someone out of themselves (Sunny’s restaurant was a success and she owned the building, while Eun-Tak achieved her dream job and became successful). After seeing GR, Sunny decided with the resolution to move out of her building, wished Eun-Tak happiness, and even hid her memories from her brother after seeing him happy because she was moving on from her memories.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The rest of episode showed us the happy reunion of Shin and Eun-Tak, as well as, the reunion of the trio: DH, GR, and Shin. Eun-Tak still couldn’t believe that Shin was in front of him and kept stroking his chin to confirm that he was real, while Shin assured her that it wasn’t a dream. However, the happiness felt too dream-like and we saw how Eun-Tak was still scarred from losing Shin when she woke up and summoned him to make sure that he was really back. This made Shin realize that even though her memories returned, Eun-Tak was still traumatized from losing him; that’s why Shin was the one initiating all the affection towards Eun-Tak. In episode 16, we were hit with a truckload of emotions (pun intended). Eun-Tak was able to reconcile with her ghost friends as well as the issue between her and her aunt; even when her aunt was terrible to her after death, Eun-Tak still thanked her aunt for raising her. GR was able to resolve his past with the maidservant and apologized to her for putting her in a difficult situation 900 years ago by committing suicide. GR and Sunny finally and properly said goodbye to each other while accepting that they could not be happy in this lifetime. Deok-Hwa was slowly growing up and maturing into an adult who will one day take over the company. And Shin and Eun-Tak got married (UGH THEY ARE JUST SO PRECIOUS... AT LEAST WE GOT A WEDDING T.T). However, their happiness was cut short (as well as my soul was crushed) as Eun-Tak sacrificed herself to save the children on the bus. This time Shin was the one who had to watch his loved one leave him behind, but Eun-Tak promised him that she would return and for him to wait for her, while to live his life well and not cause inconveniences to people because of her. (Guys... who else was ugly sobbing? I can’t stop crying from the moment Eun-Tak sacrificed herself until Shin’s sad and deep crying when he fell to the floor).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice how the seasons went by naturally as Shin kept his promise to Eun-Tak to not cause unnatural weather, while wearing her scarf and reminiscing about her. 30 years later, Sunny’s death was GR’s last assignment as the two have a touching reunion, which this time GR leading Sunny the way... not Sunny leading him. Even though Shin was left behind, Shin continued to live well and spread miracles in peoples’ lives (read here for theory on Mr. Kim) until he finally crossed paths with the reincarnated GR and Sunny. We see that in this lifetime, they are finally happily together without anything blocking them (and I kinda think they might remember their past lives too with all the references they made). Notice how GR grabbed & handcuffed Sunny’s right arm and then he was the one who initiated the handshake when it was Sunny who did it previously. And lastly, our lonely goblin was finally shining when he reunited with a reincarnated Eun-Tak. If you didn’t notice, Shin was wearing the watch she had bought for him for their wedding; when a woman gives a man a watch, this symbolizes that 1) they are each other’s time and 2) he will wait for her just as she will wait for him. This time, it was Eun-Tak coming to him and granting his wish (the dandelion symbolizes fulfillment of wishes): her returning to his side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what do I think about this ending? I think this ending was perfect for the series as it symbolizes the title of the drama: The Lonely Shining Goblin. (Though my fangirl side... I’m not satisfied lmao... I want more tbh xD). Everyone had a different story and problem, but it was up to each character to find the answer to their fate. To become a good CEO, DH was growing up from only seeing himself to thinking of others, asking questions, and maturing from a child to an adult. CEO Kim fulfilled his duties to Grandpa and lived a good life. GR and Sunny accepted their punishment, but determined their own happiness in their next life by having a new beginning and by GR being more straight-forwards in their relationship. And Shin and Eun-Tak overcame the boundaries of life and death, their love will transcend time as they continue to find each other (this is because she is human and he is an immortal - therefore their ending will always be sad because they can’t be together forever). Eun-Tak sacrificing herself was the ultimate expression of a pure and selfless love and that’s why her death was not predetermined (a human’s sacrifice is the only thing God can’t predetermine) - she did not hesitate to save others before herself.. just as Shin when he pulled the sword out to kill Park Joong Won. Therefore, that’s why I believe their love was able to defy time because their love is selfless. Their selfless love was the answer to their tragic fate... even though they could not be happy together in this lifetime... they were only selfish once they died as they asked God to let them be together longer next time. And that’s why I think Eun-Tak did not forget Shin because 1) she didn’t drink the tea and 2) God granted her wish to return to Shin just as God granted Shin’s wish to return to Eun-Tak’s side. Their reunion was pure and innocent despite their longing for each other... just as how they first met... because the foundation of their love is a “first love” and “selfless love.” (even though my fangirl side wanted a kiss lmao) I also think there’s a special reason why they reunited at Canada. Canada is known as a land of acceptance and openness... so Shin and Eun-Tak reuniting in Canada represents how they accept and love each other for who they are no matter the time they will meet or the age they will be. She will be his first and last bride.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But not only does the application of selfless love apply to Shin and Eun-Tak, it also applies to everyone in this drama... GR and Sunny, DH, Samshin, God, and all the souls who were guided by GR. After thinking for awhile, I was trying to understand why they continued to show two more scenes of GR guiding souls to the afterlife... the first one being the reunion of the soldier and his widowed wife (first of all, I fuckin cried... it was so damn touching). Even though he promised his wife he would return, he didn’t because he sacrificed himself during the war while she lived her life till old age instead of committing suicide; because their love was selfless... they were able to meet again. The second one was of the selfish CEO and how he only cared for himself... but he didn’t realize that his selfishness would be the only thing that would follow him into the afterlife as his punishment - not his watch, his money, and his title. So to my next point on selfless love, becoming a grim reaper is a punishment on people who committed suicide. In a way this is a form of selfishness because you ended your own life for yourself and as punishment, you live a nameless life as a grim reaper to make you desire to live again and appreciate life because life is fleeting... just as Eun-Tak said to GR, “you live today as if it will be your last.”
Tumblr media
The ending for Goblin is in a sense perfect despite the imperfections that we may find with it because we love this drama so much. In an ideal world, we want a happy and perfect ending, however, in the world of Goblin… it’s cruel that Shin will have to wait for Eun-Tak when she passes away again… and the cruel cycle continues, but that’s the choice they’ve chosen – a sad love to their tragic fate. I think the author has let it up to us to decide how Eun-Tak and Shin’s fate will play with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lives that Eun-Tak has remaining because she has laid the foundation of how their first life together happened - like Eun-Tak said, “Humans have four lives: a life of planting seeds, a life of watering the seeds, a life of harvesting and a life of cherishing the harvests.”
And you know, after thinking it throughly… perhaps that was the whole point of the drama.. to plant the seeds for the love story between Eun-Tak and Shin; not all beginnings end happily but what matters the most is how you continue to thrive after you’ve started. Therefore, I do think that it would be possible for Shin to become human during her 4th life so that they can properly cherish each other. For example, Sunny’s life. Sunny had planted the seeds of her love with Wang Yeo during Goryeo, but ended her life early to protect him. Her second life she watered the seeds by surviving on her own with no attachment to her first life. Her third life, she finally was able to harvest after reuniting with her brother and lover with her memories of her first life, but she was finally able to cherish the harvest in her fourth life by having her happy ending with GR/Wang Yeo with a clean slate.
So moral of Goblin: There are many types of love... there is selfish love and selfless love.. though a selfless love is a sad love... it is the only type of love that can last 1,000 or 10,000 years. If you genuinely love someone, you will continue to live a good life till its’ fullest even after that person’s death... And perhaps a miracle might just happen as a god may be listening nearby to grant your wish.
Thank you Goblin... despite the harsh reality of the world and our fates... thank you for reminding us that we are the makers of our lives... and that’s what makes life beautiful.

Hi! This is not goblin related but Gong Yoo related! sorry!! but I would like to ask if you've watched coffee prince and what's your thought about it? I've seen a review on @gladgladysgongg on instagram and I'm asking if you have the same opinion? What do you think?
Ohh, my thoughts on Coffee Prince vs. Goblin… Gahh.. that’s a hard comparison for me lmao… xD (I love both dramas)
Tumblr media
For Coffee Prince, Gong Yoo’s portrayal of his character Choi Han-kyul is FLAWLESS. A rich heir who learned the meaning of true love and worked hard for his goals/dreams despite being from a well-off family. Coffee Prince tackles many aspects of social norms and issues that are heavily important topics of today being a drama filmed 10 years ago!!! The part that captured me the most was how Gong Yoo was able to express Han-kyul’s emotions of betrayal and hurt when he found out the truth of Eun-chan’s real identity; but the most beautiful part was how he accepted her for who she was and he told her that he would love her regardless of what she is… who she is. T.T
Tumblr media
Now for Goblin, Gong Yoo’s portrayal of his character Kim Shin is PERFECT. A 939 yo god who only sought his death and didn’t know the first thing about receiving/giving love, only to learn the true joy and meaning of life when he first fell in love with his bride… and remember he continued to love her even when she couldn’t pull the sword the first place. Once again, Goblin tackles many aspects of social norms and issues that are discussed today. Gong Yoo was able to express Shin’s pure and unyielding love for Eun-Tak despite their “age difference” and him being an immortal; but the most beautiful part was how he accepted his immortal fate in order to be with her again, even though he knows he will continue to suffer from her death. T.T
Tumblr media
So final verdict? Coffee Prince is maybe a little more realistic (even though he’s a hella rich chaebol >.>), but I like Goblin a little more because of the intricate storyline and the meaning behind Shin and Eun-Tak’s relationship. Despite my thirsty fangirl side, I’ve never seen such a pure and innocent love as the one between Shin and Eun-Tak ever in a k-drama. A perfect depiction of what first love encompasses. A love that made my heart hurt when they were in pain. A love that made my heart burst with joy when they were happy together. A love that made me feel loved when they found each other again. Gong Yoo’s kisses were so gentlemanly just like Shin is supposed to be… not aggressive or controlling. I just feel that Gong Yoo put his heart and soul into giving us his depiction of the lonely and shining goblin - from all of his subtle looks to every action, you could feel how Shin felt about Eun-Tak, GR/Wang Yeo, Sunny, DH, Grandpa, his soldier friend, Samshin, God, and just everyone he interacted with. His expressions, his voice, and his actions are more polished from his younger acting days. I feel that he perfected his role with the help from his experience from Coffee Prince because Han-kyul and Shin are actually similar. They both love their special person regardless of who they are and what they are.
Tumblr media
Now the one thing that Coffee Prince definitely wins over Goblin… must I say it??? lmao… Gong Yoo’s special skills were fully used in Coffee Prince, while I’m literally sitting here screaming in frustration that Shin and Eun-Tak didn’t have enough steamy moments. But just look at these beauties… My eyes have been blessed lmao… I kinda like the Shintak kiss better though cause it’s just so sweet how they’re looking into each other’s eyes while smiling and gently kissing each other (it feels very touching and nice to look at while giving you the giggly feels)… T.T While the Coffee Prince kiss is just soo damn hot with all the cuddling and passion, lol (but I love it too). Regardless which ever is your favorite or you haven’t seen them, I recommend to watch both because they both equally have their strong aspects and have a beautiful story to tell. Perhaps I’d recommend to watch Coffee Prince first before Goblin if you haven’t seen it so you can see how Gong Yoo’s acting has polished from 10 years ago.
