In 1999, Larry the Cucumber once more donned his super alter ego for "Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed". It is the first VeggieTale in which Bob the Tomato does not appear. The animation, visual scale, and score are all greatly enhanced from his first adventure, making it a show piece for Big Idea Productions. ("Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed", Video, Event)

I apologize if I have posted this before from this account. This is another old post from my dead account “justachickwholovesmash” from a several years back.
The Apple Tree (1966)
Tumblr media
The Apple Tree: A series of playlets set to music by Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock, fresh out of their hit Fiddler On The Roof, The Apple Tree starred
Alan Alda, Larry Blyden and Barbara Harris in musical treatments of Mark Twain’s “The Diary of Adam and Eve,” Frank Stockton’s “The Lady or The Tiger,” and Jules Feiffer’s “Passionella,” cleverly staged by Mike Nichols. It may have seemed a mere trifle compared to its illustrious predecessor, but when it opened at the Shubert Theatre on October 18, 1966, its endearing charm was enough to win the hearts of critics and fans alike, as well as a Tony for its leading lady, and to ensure that it would stay around for 463 performances.
The Apple Tree Soundtrack can be purchased online in various forms.

After reckless young lawyer Gordon Bombay gets arrested for drunk driving, he must coach a kids hockey team for his community service. Gordon has experience on the ice, but isn’t eager to return to hockey, a point hit home by his tense dealings with his own former coach, Jack Reilly. The reluctant Gordon eventually grows to appreciate his team, which includes promising young Charlie Conway, and leads them to take on Reilly’s tough players. Credits: TheMovieDb. I enjoyed it, in short. Satisfying sports story, a solid message, decent humour and a serviceable cast. Emilio Estevez is fine in the role of Gordon, he’s definitely the best actor on display here. The numerous child actors are all alright, Shaun Weiss (Goldberg) is the one who stands out in my memory most. A nice little film about a local, youth ice hockey team, one for the family.

I've been thinking about how in really early veggietales Archibald had a wife who appeared a few times and was pretty much never seen again. I was wondering if you have any headcanons about her and what her deal is. Mysterious! 👀👀
Oh I ADORE Lovey! As far as I know, she only PLAYED Archie's wife in Larry's Lagoon but we don't know if they were ever actually married off-set/"in real life". I have some headcanons, like I think she's a bi trans woman :3 I don't, however, have a set backstory for her or anything! She really is a mystery. But in a good way. This may be horribly wrong, or just an urban legend, or both, but as I've heard, what happened is: Gail Bock, Lovey's voice actress, wasn't part of a voice actor's union at the time she was doing voice work for VeggieTales. And for whatever stupid reason, doing voice work when you're not part of a union can ruin your credentials so she had to stop. I don't know if she's been in anything before or since VeggieTales, but wherever she is, I hope she's doing fine :] ((PLEASE DO NOT CRUCIFY ME IF THIS IS WRONG I'M JUST REPEATING STUFF I'VE HEARD)) As for in the series itself, maybe her character just got too busy with other matters and had to leave Big Idea for the time being :[ Maybe she'll come back someday. That would be nice. :] I think if Phil and Mike were aware of the little pocket of fans who love her so much, she could come back in the new VeggieTales show.

Fun Fact: The legacy of names who have played Amalia include Barbara Cook (Original Broadway Cast), Judy Kuhn (1993 Revival Cast), Kelli O’Hara (2011 Concert), Laura Benanti (2016 Revival Cast) among others.
She Loves Me runs at Good Company Players’ 2nd Space Theater from October 25th - December 22nd. It’s also the currently featured show on Drunk Broadway’s season five exploration into musicals over the years. So, point is, there is no shortage of She Loves Me for you to enjoy. Go fall in love with this charming score and tack on a gallon of vanilla ice cream to keep you company.
