You’re pretty much unsupervised. Dark Cacao is home about three hours a week, and your siblings are busy and important figures to the Dark Cacao Kingdom.

That is, however, not to say important events won’t be celebrated. As the Kingdom’s beloved heir, every birthday is a big deal. Dark Cacao made the mistake of wanting to work on your fifth birthday; auntie Hollyberry tied him to a chair while you blew out your candles.

Caramel Arrow and Crunchy Chip, your older siblings, can be just as protective as your father. They have secretly followed you on various dates. It is safe to say Caramel Arrow’s disguises are a lot more discreet than Crunchy Chip’s.

Stoicism is a hereditary trait of the Dark Cacao kids that Crunchy Chip did not inherit. You and Caramel Arrow find great joy in teasing him everytime he flushes red in the presence of a certain Hollyberian bodyguard…

Dark Cacao’s expressions can be seen as incredibly apathetic to anyone who doesn’t know him. You, who has hung around him for your entire life, can read him like an open book. He looks a lot like his remaining son when he sees the monarch of the Pure Vanilla Kingdom.

Dark Cacao gets really upset when your friends or partner playfully insult you, as he has trouble distinguishing real slander from friendly slander.

I’m not accusing you of anything, but… autism certainly runs in the family.

Dark Cacao sleeps VERY lightly, so whenever you and Crunchy Chip/Caramel Arrow pull all-nighters and giggle just a little too loudly, there’s a grumpy, half-asleep king banging on your door.

You and Crunchy Chip try literally everything to set your dad up with a new queen, but he’s so picky! She’s too submissive, her magic is too weak, she doesn’t have the bite he’s looking for… the two of you realise what you’ve been doing wrong when he starts smiling like an idiot during Pure Vanilla’s stay at the castle.

You and Caramel Arrow will often bake, usually far past midnight. While the two of you are extremely careful and Caramel Arrow has extremely good reflexes, you once dropped the steel bowl you were mixing dough in on the hardwood floor.. What did I say about Dark Cacao being a light sleeper?

Dark Cacao cried when you snuck when you were about six, thinking you got abducted.

Living under 24/7 observation and constant protection of several bodyguards and the King himself has made you quite sneaky. At this point, Caramel Arrow is the only one who can see you snake out of the Citadel late at night.

You and your siblings sometimes do those youtube challenges, like ‘eating Hollyberian candies’ or ‘try not to laugh with water in your mouth’. You once got Dark Cacao to participate. He threw up after a bite of a Spooky Muffin.

While Dark Cacao, Caramel Arrow and you can handle horror movies very well (at your own degrees, of course), Crunchy Chip is TERRIFIED. He’ll cling onto whoever’s next to him at the time, claiming he’s ‘protecting them from nightmares’.

Dark Cacao does actually suffer from nightmares - not because of scary movies, but because of the large amount of trauma he experienced throughout his life and his inability to deal with it mentally and emotionally. He’ll sometimes wake up screaming and sweating like a dog; fifty percent of the time, the nightmares are about Dark Choco’s betrayal. The other half is about his remaining children.

Following the headcanon above, Dark Cacao has to check on every single one of his doughlings after a nightmare, which can take a while. You and your siblings have learned to get to his room immediately after loud, anguished cry coming from the royal bedroom.

loose tail - when a card bearing this sigil would be struck, a tail is created in its place and a card bearing this sigil moves to the right. a tail is defined as: 0 power, 2 health.

steel trap - when a card bearing this sigil perishes, the creature opposing it perishes as well. a pelt is created in your hand.

GOD it was hard to come up with sigils for this one. since these are boss exclusive cards, i had a pretty limited pool to work with… hopefully this is still fitting

loose tail is the closest i could get to a sigil that avoids death, since sigils like unkillable and many lives were off the table. plus, there’s kinda a connection with him not valuing his own life?? and sacrificing a part of himself? i think it works

steel trap!! this sigil is exclusive to the trapper boss fight! since summoned cards (like chimes and tails) inherit sigils, their tail card will also kill whatever’s in front of it when it’s destroyed! sort of a “taking you down with me” situation.

swapper - after a card bearing this sigil is dealt damage, swap its power and health.

swapper!! this is an act 3 sigil exclusive to swapbot! ahhhhhhhh i had such a hard time trying to figure out another card design for her. i REALLY liked the bellist sigil for her and didn’t really have any other ideas. swapper felt like it fit with the change belief to me! and it also makes her a pretty terrifying card to go up against. since this is a boss card, that cost is basically entirely for show lol

ALT CARD ART!!! YIPEE!! literally all i did was flip her eyes to look angry lol. swapbot’s sprite changes when it swaps so i think hers would too!

dam builder - when a card bearing this sigil is played, a dam is created on each empty adjacent space. a dam is defined as: 0 power, 2 health.

fledgling - a card bearing this sigil will grow into a more powerful form after 1 turn on the board.

dam builder feels like a very defensive sigil to me, and it synergizes well with fledgling!! after a turn, isabeau will be doing 5 damage across 3 lanes! good god.

trifurcated strike - a card bearing this sigil will strike each opposing space to the left and right of the spaces across from it as well as the space in front of it.

sharp quills - once a card bearing this sigil is struck, the striker is then dealt a single damage point.

this was the HARDEST card to think up, and probably the weakest out of the bunch imo. i think i really nailed her regular card and i just. couldn’t come up with anything. agonies

i picked trifurcated strike as a reference to her being able to use all three craft types, and sharp quills… i think because of her aversion to touch? i think. it’s been a while since i made these aaaaa

waterborne - a card bearing this sigil submerges itself during its opponent's turn. while submerged, opposing creatures attack its owner directly.

leader - creatures adjacent to a card bearing this sigil gain 1 power.

if yall remember the notes on my kid card, this is based on the beta version of that card!! which means that for once i’m not putting bonnie through the torments. hooray!

waterborne is there because they always stay out of danger during battles! plus they’re from a coastal town so it fits on that front as well. i didn’t really think about the actual sigil names for cards this time around but hey! it’s a nice bonus!

the beta card had trinket bearer, but that’s a sigil that would only benefit the player in battle, so i swapped it out with leader! since they can’t be directly attacked, this basically makes them a permanent alpha on the king’s side of the field. also, leader, snack leader, it fits namewise as well!

haunter - when a creature bearing this sigil dies, it haunts the space it died in. creatures played in this space gain its old sigils.

bifurcated strike - A card bearing this sigil will strike each opposing space to the left and right of the space across from it.

“i’m normal about inscryption” i say as i give one of my cards a sigil that only appears in the completely missable rulebook of grimmora’s segment of the finale.

so. haunter! the aforementioned grimmora sigil! this appears on no cards ingame, but cmon. it fits. this sigil reminded me of how loop reacts when you guess that they’re a ghost! in battle, i imagine that siffrin will always get played right behind loop. because twohats

bifurcated strike was added here for the same reason it’s on their normal card! it feels like scissors craft!! i needed them to actually have A Sigil to transfer to siffrin and this felt the most fitting to me.

also, just like the normal cards, siffrin and loop are both the only ones to have a bone cost instead of blood cost! teehee :333

Dcxdp Danny phantom and klarion are friends.

Danny as the ghost king who loves to prank loves teaching a younger appearance klarion all kinds of fun gags and tricks of magical nature. It's like the younger sibling he always wanted. And is a nice break from some of his royal duties. But things have been a little busier than usual they haven't gotten to really get out and have fun. Danny is 30 looks 20. Klarion is looking 14. But in the thousands for age.

Klarion is bored and upset. He wants time with Danny to himself. No interruption from clockwork or the eternal. Other ghosts. No one. It's not fair. He needs a plan to sneak Danny out of the infinite realm, hide him and not be the fall guy when they get caught. Because it's clockwork they will be caught it's the when. He needs someone else to do the summoning work. But who and how.

He lands on John Constantine. Clockwork doesn't like him much. And Danny inherited all the old kings claims. So he be able use that if things got dicey. And klarion is not a fan either of the jerk. To buddy buddy with nabou. So he has a fall guy to blame for the summoning. Just needs to setup a prank so good that John thinks he has no choice but to summon someone who could destroy the world.

Takes him a week to land on act like I'm gonna do it so he has to first. Easy. And he can brag to a bunch of villains to really drive the urgency. Perfect.

Plan worked like a charm. Maybe to good though. John got a bunch of heroes to help. No good no good. John is lieing to his super jerk friends. Klarion can see the seal. It will make Danny weaker and lock him to the jerk like a dog on a leash. Not to the artifact he said they could lock him away with. He's gotta fix this quick. He drops in the pawns he recruited to distract. While discreetly changing the ruin on the summoning without mucking it up so it doesn't work. All while fighting zantana, and racing the circle lighting up.

The summoning is completed. But something obviously went very very wrong. Klarion has teakle distract zantana while he goes over the summoning again to see what he shifted. Oopsie. The ruin for shrinking power turned to shrinking age. But thats ok. It can be fixed later. Maybe. Probably. He didn't get the teather changed before it set. But that's an easy fix by killing Constantine. But his friend is here. And now they can really play. So it's all good. Klarion is ecstatic. So much so teakle runs to him as he shrinks causing one of the supers to over swing on an attack on his familiar.

But Danny needs a minute. As he blinks wearily on his feet. Rubbing at his face. Ugh summoning. He hates summoning. And this had to be a strong one. Because he couldn't resist like most of them. Whatever once the brain fog clears he'll be good and can really give the jerks who did a real stern talking to. Or maybe he'll scare them. That sounds better. Standing infront of him is a blonde man looking like a dirty drunk cop dective from TV. Who is gapping at him as a cigarette burns on the ground at his feet. This guy has to be like a gaint too cause Danny has to really crane his head back to look up at his face. There is a bunch of commotion going on but he's to focuses on this weird feeling he has towards this weirdo. Who seems like he's confused. Maybe it was an accident. Whatever. Danny still isn't happy. He puts his hands on his hips. "Hey jerk face! What do you think your doing?" Then Danny's eyes went wide. "Oh by the ancients is that my voice! What's wrong with my voice!" Danny now clutched his throat before waving his arms wildly at the creepy man. "What did you to me you weirdo! I sound like a baby!"

"It a bloody fucking child."

"It's bad to cuss infront of kids Constantine." Someone else says outside the circle.

Danny's head snaps their direction. Danny's eyes widen as he puts his hand into view looking at himself panic taking over and he looks around at all these tall people looking at him or fighting. He opens his mouth to scream in fear or frustration he doesn't know till he hears a voice he recognizes.

"Don't wail, don't wail!" Danny closes his mouth and looks around for the source.

"Klarion?"

"Sorry my bad. I messed up change the circle so it wouldn't weaken you. And well oopsie " klarion rushed into the circle hugging little Danny tight. "But you are here. So now we can play." Klarion gasped as he pulled back from Danny. "I can be the big brother now!"

"Noooooo, klarion I was already a little brother. I wanted to be a big brother more." Danny whined. His white hair flopping over as he rolled his head in complaint.

"To bad. I'm the big brother now. We are gonna have so much fun. You just have to get rid of this looser so we can go do our thing." Klarion gestured towards Constantine.

You take a moment to think. There’s… a lot to say, isn’t there? Having known the monkey for just over a year now, there’s not much of yourself that’s been unshared. How many times did you bare your heart to this man?

…and would one more really hurt?

Swallowing the last bit of a white chocolate and caramel mooncake, you set down the stained napkin it was held in and throw the pastry back with a sip of tea. Deep breaths, now.

You’ve been meaning to say it for a while now, anyways.

“…you’re the closest thing to a father I’ve ever had.”

You don’t think you’ve ever seen a man’s heart crack before.

But there’s an eventual moment there, after the initial jerk of his body, after the instinctive clench of his hand, after the flinch spurred by the mooncake’s insides spilling onto his lap… that Macaque softens.

“…I am?” Is the first question, and his voice is soft, feathery and wavering. This isn’t what he expected. This isn’t what he prepared for.

What you’ve said slides far past the realm of all his schemes and carefully curated words, all his fastidious planning.

How could he have expected this?

You were supposed to respect him! Fear him!

But what you feel for him is- is a word he hasn’t said for a very long time. It’s a word he hasn’t even thought of.

Hotter than hatred. Deeper than despair.

Love.

The word leaves his chest empty, his breath spent. God, it hurts.

When was the last time he was loved? When, without hesitation he was adored? When he was Wanted?

“…kid. C’mere.”

Macaque doesn’t wait for a response- he slings an arm around your shoulders and pulls you flush, the thrum of his heart speeding up at the closeness.

You’re one of the only good things he has. He’s lost or destroyed or driven away the rest, all that was or could have been. Macaque doesn’t like to think of his sins- it’s easier to play the victim card.

If he thinks of Sun Wukong as the bad guy, it’s easier to live with what he’s done. To live with manipulating and betraying and stealing and trying to kill. If he throws all the blame onto the Monkey King, then Macaque can pretend to be a good person.

Paint himself white. Paint Wukong black. Ignore the unevenly gray reality.

And he can live with hurting innocent people and destroying their homes and stealing their powers and trying to take their lives.

(But something deep down knows and burns with the knowledge that he’s more monster than man, that he lost all right to be loved with the worst of his unrepentant actions.)

(It aches a little more that uncaring and unregretted deception is what led you to him.)

(He doesn’t deserve you. He doesn’t deserve anyone. And he knows that it’s wrong to utilize shrouds and veils to keep you in the dark, that it’s wrong to manipulate you, that it’s wrong to groom you into being his shadowy successor, into inheriting his selfish hatred.)

(But when has a villain ever cared about being wrong?)

Macaque rather quickly shoves you away , jumping to his feet with a fanged and glittering grin.

“Stay here, kid. I’m gonna grab you something I’ve been putting together, okay?”

With a curt nod you settle into place, taking the opportunity to stretch and yawn. You had been getting tired, and take this opportunity to reach for the lotus paste mooncake you had been nibbling on- only to find it gone.

Funny. You don’t remember finishing it.

And… there’s a blanket around your shoulders. Did Macaque put it there? You certainly don’t remember something like that happening.

Maybe things had just gotten so cozy that you drifted off for a minute or two, and he had left to fetch you the black and purple quilt.

That was probably it, yeah.

You shrug the weighty comforter from your shoulders, hoping to shake the supposed sleep from your eyes. In hopes of waking up a little further, you stride to the potted plants that had become a fixture in Macaque’s house.

Beneath the brilliantly blooming tansies and dahlias, red roses have begun to sprout and bud, colorful petals peeking from underneath their green sheathes.

Stuffing in a few spikes of fertilizer, you sprinkle the soil with a light dousing of water.

The thing that breaks you from the quaint task is the telltale chime of your phone, an old song playing loudly. But it doesn’t play very long- it seems your calls don’t hold for very long anymore.

Rumble and Savage don’t know much about the world yet. There’s a lot to catch up on, in this new world of neon and metal.

Little glittering rectangles that beam light through black screens and send sound miles away in an instant.

“Phones,” Macaque had called them, dangling yours by the bejeweled strap. Both items had been a gift from Mei, a girl you were well on track to becoming friends with. “Hit this button if it starts making noise. I don’t want anything taking the kid’s attention away.”

Seeing no reason to argue with their creator, both had wholeheartedly agreed to keep vigil over your electric-filled “phone” and hit the de-activating lever when it sounded.

Like this moment right now.

Together, they scrabble to unlock the phone, clawed fingers moving just out of sync as the two simians work to punch in your passcode.

Once it’s open, Savage rips the phone from his younger brother’s hands, boosting himself into your bed to put some distance between him and his junior shadow.

As Rumble tries to climb the bed himself in opposition to his brother’s lashing tail, Savage takes note of a little red dot in the bottom right corner of your screen.

The elder of the two goes still for a moment, then snaps his claw against the power button harshly enough to leave a scratch through the metal nub. Angered by the mere sight of an enemy’s name, Savage slings the phone down and snags his little brother by the hair, dragging him into the shadows as Rumble squeals and struggles.

Right when you go to figure out what happened with your phone in the guest room, Mavaque rounds the corner with a bundle of neatly folded cloth.

“Running off already?” The simian lightheartedly asks, using his tail to snag your wrist. He doesn’t hesitate to drag you closer, pushing the outfit into your arms.

“Go get changed,” is the command he gives, before you can start asking questions. “Bathroom is that way, remember? Hurry it up!”

A push to the north, and you’re stumbling into the tiled room before realizing what’s happening. It seems sometimes as though your hands move of their own will and volition when Macaque gives you a command.

The garb is easy to put on, a black and yellow ru. Though you fumble the sash, the bandana comes easily around your throat. Black boots with gold brim. Red pants.

You look like a little “Mini Macaque”, or a very seasoned cosplayer.

“C’mon, kid! Hurry it up and come here!”

You stumble from the bathroom and into the living room once more, unsteady with the new gear. Macaque snags you close again and rights the sash, then flops back down onto his cushion.

He never been this excited before.

Something’s up.

“I want to tell you a little tale- come and sit with me, kiddo.”

Macaque pats the cushion nearest to his own, looking almost soft again. He’s already got the blanket in his hands, ready to unfold and drape it around your shoulders.

Well, for the Drakes. I was thinking they'd be aliens as well. But even within their culture they were aloof. Like maybe as strategists but not someone with a family circle. They had no clue what to do with a child. But, their king handed them a baby with his final breath. Earth looked safe, so that's where they went.

I'm sure they were baffled by earth human customs. I imagine raising children is different on earth. They were, however, good at negotiations, so they worked their way up the social ladder, hoping to give Tim a better life (not quite princely, but close).

I really like the idea about them searching for artifacts to teach Tim about their home!!! Good idea!! I'll have to use that!

The Drakes tried, but I think they mostly threw money at Tim. New bike? Sure. Want to learn Mandarin? Why not? Want a new nanny cause the last one was rude? Of course, your highness! Immediately!

New nannies happened all the time because timbo was a brat and fired them for petty stuff as a little kid.

Kori would be a fun add-on! Maybe she offers Tim slightly wrong advice culturally.

Tim was trained that he was a prince, but he also was taught that it was very, very unlikely that he would take the throne. (The Drakes died later)

EXACTLY! That's along the lines I was thinking, but I'm not super great at making up funny traditions yet. Lol.

You are CORRECT about Tim "not being able to change rules" and "unstable position". It makes sense for the AU.

Janet: "Is he climbing the tree that the gardener sectioned off for safety?"

Are there any differences between Tim/the Drakes and humans? It would be funny if it's something small, especially that all humans have (like the ability to taste cinnamon or something). Just traits that Tim is able to get away with by leaning into his "I was neglected by my 'parents' and thus have no clue how to do normal human things like the human I totally am." Any physical traits (like a blue birthmark) could be cool as well.

Tim, if you wanted, could also bond with Kara and Clark about being an alien raised on Earth.

I think Damian could become an advisor for Tim. That would be kind of cute to see. They could also bond about being heirs of empires that they thought they would never actually inherit.

Dick could charm/be a court performer if he wanted to do that. Alfred would definitely get his hands on the kitchen staff to ensure Tim is properly being fed. Barbara would beef up Tim's security.

Cass would probably play pranks on Tim's "army" while Steph gathered blackmail on the planet's high society (and pull pranks on the ones that pissed her off).

I don't know enough about Helena Bertinelli, but maybe she would treat it as a fun vacation to intimidate rich people?

Duke might be interested in learning more about Tim's home world and what it's like to space travel. He would also be the one to accidentally set half the castle on fire.

I don't know if you'd like your AU to have all the Bats, but there's some stuff they could do.

Hi eve! I could easily go off on so many tangents about Daemon and Aegon III and Jace, but I think the question has a pretty simple answer: yes, a war is inevitable if Rhaenyra or Jace inherits, and if not between Jace and Aegon III, then between Jace any one of the seven remaining trueborn male claimants.

First, I think Daemon's role in Jace's possible succession issues is overstated. Could he arrange three very convenient accidental deaths for the oldest boys to make sure that Aegon III is set up to inherit whether Daemon himself is alive to see it or not? Sure. But he also did not do this to any of Alicent's children, instead he waited to see if Rhaenyra and Aegon would fight. My gut feeling is that by the time Daemon is in his 50s, he just does not care enough. Will he feed Aegon III the idea that he should be the heir, that he has more Valyrian blood, he's trueborn, etc.? Likely. But I think Daemon would leave it up to Aegon III to fight for it, rather than conveniently clearing his way. That said, the fact remains that Daemon could drop dead the day after Rhaenyra took the throne, and there would still be people who would find it advantageous to align themselves with one of the trueborn claimants to the throne. Jace's problems do not begin or end with Daemon.

Keep in mind, this is the argument Criston Cole used to convince Aegon II to fight. It's often conflated in the fandom with "Rhaenyra will kill your family to secure her reign," but interestingly, Criston says that all of the king's trueborn sons have a better claim than Rhaenyra's "brood of bastards," that is, he frames the real threat as occurring when a bastard attempts to inherit ahead of trueborn sons, and although it's not relevant to Criston's point so he doesn't mention it, of course Aegon III and Viserys II are included in this number. Now, unlike most of the fandom, Criston frames this threat as coming from the bastards towards the trueborn sons, rather than the trueborn sons towards the bastards, which is convenient for convincing Aegon, but also happens to be a good point. Daemon and/or Aegon III don't have to have Jacaerys killed, they simply have to corroborate the story that Jace is a bastard, and press Aegon III as a claimant. At that point, Jace can either admit to being a bastard and step aside, or go to war. And it doesn't have to be Aegon III. If there is no Dance, there are still seven trueborn sons and grandsons of Viserys who can raise a legitimate challenge to Jace's claim (and disclaimers apply about bastardy being a construct, no one can prove it etc. etc., but once Rhaenyra, Corlys, and Viserys are dead, it becomes much more difficult for Jace to defend himself against those claims). And this is in essence why it was absolutely insane of Viserys to overlook this issue, but that's a different tangent.

That's the problem with a lot of the arguments that Alicent "lied," or poisoned her kids against Rhaenyra and her kids, that Rhaenyra never would have hurt her brothers, Daemon never would turn against Jace, that Aegon III loves his brother, or what have you. Rhaenyra, Daemon, Jace, and Aegon III do not even have to be the ones who personally initiate violence against their rivals, Rhaenyra, whose claim is already non-traditional, has built her line of succession on shaky grounds. At any time during Rhaenyra's reign, or after she dies, or during Jace's reign, or his son's reign, if the lords of the realm are unhappy for whatever reason, they have a perfect pretext to decide that Rhaenyra wasn't the true heir and/or Jace was a bastard all along (take your pick) and the line was illegitimate, and challenge him.

And unfortunately for poor Jace, regardless of whatever loyalties Aegon III might hold for his brother, Aegon II has two trueborn sons who have zero reason to have any affection or regard for cousin Jace. If Aegon II doesn't want to be king, can we be sure his sons don't? And likewise, even if Aegon III is loyal to Jace, can we be certain his sons will love their uncle and cousins as much as he does? Jace is not stupid and a lot can happen in a decade or two! This is why, even though it's also true that Otto and Alicent probably would have tried to put Aegon II on the throne regardless, Criston's argument that anyone who stands in Jace's way will have to be eliminated (by Jace and whoever upholds him as the true heir) in order for his succession to be clear, is the one that convinces Aegon II. Because it's true, and if Jace does not eliminate the potential rivals, at some point someone will challenge that line, and the result will be as devastating as the Dance.

Regan and Goneril welcome you back to the Legacy of Manwich, where King Martin's polluting the gene pool in ways not seen since the Uglacy craze in 2007. I am newly unemployed, horribly lonely, and wallowing in misery, so maybe some Iconic Manwich Shenanigans will cheer me up.

Martin decides the foundation of his relationship with his daughters should be built upon, uh, lecturing them for no reason.

Chapter #2: Bargains & Broken Chains

Rosie took a deep breath to steady herself before knocking on Alastor’s door. “Al, dear, can we talk?” No reply. She turned the nob only to find it locked. Undeterred, she took a pin from her hair and picked the lock until she heard it click. Rosie pushed the door open and poked her head inside. “Alastor?”

The room was equal parts swamp and luxury suite. Rustic, yet quaint, like The Radio Demon himself. Rosie stepped through the entry and the door swung closed behind her. Another sharp click told her the deadbolt was in place. She kept moving her heels clacking against the dark hardwood.

Two plush chairs sat in front of a giant marble fireplace, the wall above adorned with a set a massive antlers and picture frames whose portraits were half hidden in shadow. Fire crackled and hissed, a myriad of white, orange, yellow, blue, and red licking at the grey stone hearth.

Alastor occupied one of the armchairs, a glencairn full of homemade whiskey in his hand.

Rosie sighed. “Oh, Alastor…” She closed the distance between them and took his hand as she lowered herself into the empty seat beside him. “Turn to me, baby, not the bottle.”

Alastor stared at the dancing flames, their pale light casting dark shadows across his strained expression. “What was she thinking? The sheer audacity of that child…”

“Charlie means well,” Rosie said, her voice barely more than a whisper. “Is it really her you’re upset with, or your father?”

Alastor bristled. “Don’t—” His face became a twisted blend of sorrow and fury. “Rosie, please…”

“Al, you’re nothing like that bastard,” she persisted. “You’re not abusive or neglectful and you’d never abandon the ones you love. He wasn’t a real man. You are.”

“Have you forgotten my seven year sabbatical?”

Rosie grimaced. “That wasn’t by choice. That bitch forced you to leave. If not for that damn deal I’d —”

“Let’s not speak of it. Just thinking about her makes my head ache.”

Rosie reached out and gently eased the cup out of his hand. “We need to decide what to do about Charlie. She wouldn’t have come to us unless it was necessary.”

Alastor tilted his head to look at her. “You want this…don’t you?” It wasn’t a question so much as a realization slamming into him like a full speed freight train running off its track.

Rosie wrapped her arms around herself rubbing her arms more from anxiety than a lack of warmth. Alastor always kept his room toasty. It was a nice contrast to her own skin, which was always cool to the touch. “She’s offering us the chance to start a family. It’s what we’ve always wanted, something we thought we’d never have.”

“The child would be Charlie’s heir—not ours.”

“Her heir in name only,” Rosie corrected him. “Charlie doesn’t know the first thing about being a parent. She’ll be too busy with the hotel to raise a kid. We’d be the main influences in the baby’s life. Al, our child would be the next king or queen of Hell.”

“And what do you think that vile woman will do when she learns we’ve conceived? That our progeny will inherit Lucifer’s throne? You and the fawn would never be safe.”

Rosie tsked. “Alastor, sweetheart, you’re not thinking straight. We wouldn’t be doing this out of the goodness of our hearts. You made a bargain with the princess, didn’t you? Use that to cancel your agreement with that slithering skank whore.”

If Alastor could’ve frowned, he would have. “Charlotte’s not powerful enough to nullify a soul contract—not from a demon that strong.”

“She isn’t,” Rosie replied, “but her father is.”

Alastor’s eyes widened. He hummed in thought, the look on his face pensive. Rosie had a point. Charlie refused to embrace the darker side of her nature. This hindered her abilities. Lucifer had no such qualms. He was the devil. His power absolute in Hell. “Rosie, darling, you’re brilliant!”

“Oh? How kind of you to notice,” she teased.

He leapt up from his chair, pulled her into a tight hug, and twirled her as she laughed before pulling back to look at her with what was likely the first genuine smile she’d seen from him since his return to Pentagram City. “I’ll regain my freedom. We’ll have our family. And that harlot can go fuck herself!”

Rosie giggled. “You promise?”

Alastor rested his forehead against hers. “I promise.”

Rosie peppered his face with kisses. It’d been so long since they’d been affectionate. Any time Alastor showed even the slightest bit of positive emotion, the cunt at the other end of his leash would give it a painful tug, a reminder that he’d never be happy or free so long as he was tethered to her. Rosie hated that woman more than anyone else in heaven, earth, or hell.

Alastor cupped her cheek and leaned in for an actual kiss. Rosie wrapped her arms around his neck moaning against his lips. He only stopped when the need for them to breathe forced him to.

“I love you,” he whispered.

Rosie opened her mouth to reply, but paused when she felt him tense in her embrace. “Al? Honey? What’s wrong?” He began to choke and wheeze.

To her absolute horror, a glowing collar and chain appeared around his neck, each thick, heavy, and made of black steel. She grabbed the metal in a futile attempt to remove it only to let go with a hiss, her hands blistered from mere moments of physical contact.

Alastor raked at his throat with his claws fighting for air. The person holding the other end of his chain jerked him upward where he dangled in midair. Rosie screamed Alastor’s name as he clung to the chain to avoid being strangled.

The door to his suite burst open. Charlie ran in first followed by Lucifer and the rest of the hotel residents. Charlie gasped while the others froze horrified by what they were seeing. It was Lucifer who acted. “His contract—was it signed willingly or under duress?”

“She tortured him and threatened to kill me if he didn’t submit,” Rosie cried.

“Good enough for me!” Lucifer cracked his knuckles then unfolded his wings. He flew toward Alastor pinning him to the nearest wall. “Hold still, Antlers. This is gonna sting.” Lucifer wrapped his hands around the collar. An electrical current tore through Alastor’s body making him shriek in agony.

Three harsh yanks from the king of hell shattered the collar like glass. The chain whipped back disintegrating as it disappeared back into the darkness along with the collar shards that had littered the floor.

Alastor hit the ground hard enough to break bone. Rosie ran to him rolling him onto his side so he wouldn’t suffocate on his own blood in case there was internal bleeding. “Alastor, are you okay? Speak to me!”

All she got in response was a groan.

Lucifer landed nearby livid. “Who the fuck was on the other end of that chain?”

“She…she said her name was Roo,” Rosie said. She was afraid he’d harm her or Alastor if she didn’t answer.

Lucifer’s eyes burned red and yellow as they narrowed “Eve.” He turned on his heel and headed for the door.

“Dad? Where are you going?” Charlie asked.

“I need to get in contact with heaven,” he told her. “Someone needs to catch Adam’s wife before she causes any more trouble. Stay here and make sure no one enters or leaves the hotel until I get back.”

“Okay.”

Charlie waited for her father to leave before she hurried over and knelt down beside Alastor. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“We couldn’t,” Rosie explained. “That was part of the deal. He wasn’t allowed to tell anyone. Eve would’ve killed him if either of us spoke up.”

“You should’ve come to me anyway,” Charlie protested. “I would’ve helped—protected you from her.”

Alastor pushed himself up into a sitting position his body still trembling from the onslaught. He looked exhausted and his voice was breathy when he spoke. “Forgive me, Charlotte, but while your powers are admirable, they’re nothing compared to the monster on the opposite end of that chain.”

“Is that why you and Rosie refused the surrogacy?”

“About that,” Rosie began.

Charlie shook her head. “We can discuss it in the morning if you want. Right now you and Alastor need to rest. Get some sleep. We’ll have breakfast ready by the time you wake up.”

Rosie nodded. “Alright. Thank you, Charlie.”

The princess left their room with the others in toe. Husk was the last to leave, closing the door on his way out. Rosie examined Alastor for any visible injuries. There were none that she could see.

“I thought I was going to lose you forever this time,” she confessed, her voice breaking under the weight of unshed tears.

“I’ll be fine,” he assured her. “You’ll never lose me, Rosie.”

She helped him undress and get into bed. Nothing else was said. They just held each other close and waited for sleep to claim them too worn out to do anything else. For the first time in seven long years, their dreams weren’t plagued with images of Roo or the torture they’d suffered at her hands. They were free.

Hey! If you’re interested in doing so For Science or something, I could go a run down on your favourite moments from the Act On interviews. I really feel like Rob is so comfortable and engaged in those, they’re a delight.

I can definitely do this! This is right up my alley because I completely agree, I feel like the Act On This interviews are when we get the best glimpse of him just being him because it isn't press related. And quite frankly, him just being himself is more interesting to me than watching someone answer the same five questions over and over again on a press tour. (Not that I'd complain if he did do more press. I'll take whatever I can get, I'm not fussy.)

I'm going to apologize ahead of time for the length and because this will most likely be a very unorganized list. I considered doing video clips but Tumblr just makes that too much of a pain in the ass. 😩

(* I decided to really only do the most recent Act On This because otherwise I'd be here all damn week trying to make a list and ain't no one got time to read that. 😂)

First off, it's not exactly a moment but like previously mentioned—just the general vibe of these interviews. It's so much more laid back and less professional (in a good way) so we get to see The Hot Mess Express™ in all of his glory and who wouldn't appreciate that small glimpse into his unfiltered chaos? These gifs literally happened within seconds of each other. Between him dropping his phone, struggling to set it right, then immediately breaking into dance, I get whiplash just watching.

2. I won't gif this one because he's so understandably private about his kids, but the moment when one of them bursts in not long after the above moment. And honestly, there isn't anything there to gif (again, not that I ever would) because boy was quick as lightning to turn that camera to protect his kid's privacy. 100/10. For all of his goofing off, Dad was quick to Dad™. And even with that distraction and the speed with which he remedied it—he still kept up with what Ross was asking and saying to him. For all the talk of how much of a class clown he is, it appears he can still handle his shit without missing a beat when it really matters and this was a prime example of that.

3. When he pretty much just admitted to being drunk during the Christmas trivia. Keep it real, that's how we like it. 😎

4. This one may be considered a boring choice but another one of my favorite aspects of the Act On This interviews is hearing him get to speak so candidly about his acting process. It's not something most actors really get to discuss in great length with traditional press anymore unless they're the pretentious, insufferable, method sort that make headlines with their extremes. But hearing him discuss how he tried to find ways to bring warmth to the character in The Inheritance made me even more interested in seeing it—to see how much of it they kept, to see if the attempts were even successful. He talked about adding humor because otherwise the audience might grow tired of these fighting siblings and he's right. When he finally does settle down and get serious, he gives incredibly insightful answers and I feel like his approach to most characters is just spot on. So yeah, a thoughtful answer that also increased my interest in an upcoming project is a major win.

5. It's happened over the course of a few different Act On This interviews so it's a bit hard to gif or anything but when either he or Ross mentions how frugal he is. 😅😂 He's got a five year old IPhone (which shouldn't be remarkable but lbr), his laptop supposedly only works if it's plugged into the wall, he'd rather have the money than a make-up artist, and I'm almost positive there are examples I'm missing. Love me a frugal king. 👑

6. I wouldn't call this one a moment really, more so just another example of why I love Act On This—for little pieces of insight and perspective like this. I like learning how people cope with different things and what tools they use, this one is also just very relatable because it's something I find myself also doing as I get older too (although not in audition rooms, obviously).

7. Similar to the last one, whenever he talks about how he's found ways to deal with nerves. It's especially interesting to me because I feel like I've seen a lot of chatter among fans as to whether or not he gets nervous but he's pretty transparent about how his nerves have sabotaged him in the past. It's something else that's relatable, when he discusses finding methods that work for him (mindfulness really is slept on). It takes a certain level of vulnerability to admit when you've been actively searching for ways to cope and it's admirable to hear anyone not just admit it but to encourage others to do the same. Plus, don't we all watch these hoping for those honest moments?

8. Because I'm a trash person and I wouldn't be me without admitting it...every single moment when he has the audacity to just exist looking like this. 🤷‍♀️ He was 🔥🔥and I'm honest enough to admit that the eye candy is certainly a perk of any Act On This interview.

Honestly, I could keep going but I will spare us all.

Of course there's the obvious mentions too, like whenever he breaks into song and/or dance. The Christmas trivia was a pleasure. And like most people, I also enjoy just any little personal tidbit he's chosen to share throughout the years, even something as simple as what beer he wants to drink or his love of house plants.

Overall, I appreciate these interviews because like you said, they're just so comfortable and engaging. Once he gets the wiggles out there's usually some really great advice or tidbits shared so I really watch these always waiting on those moments and anything else is just icing on the cake.

Hopefully this was somewhat of a satisfactory answer and bless anyone that's read this far. 😳

Cancel the Character: Viserys and (almost everyone in HOTD could be cancelled but I'm choosing him because the narrative keeps justifying his shit in season 2 and that annoys me, also please forgive me because there are spoilers abound). Viserys should be cancelled for pressuring his first wife Aemma Arryn into having children when she didn't want to have another miscarriage and chose to kill her for the sake of his unborn son without her consent, probably knowing that her own mother died giving birth to her. Then he listens to his advisors about remarrying and chooses to marry Alicent Hightower, his 15 year old daughter's best friend who was pressured into courting him by her father. He then forces Alicent to have four children with him yet refuses to spend any time with them, neglecting them in favor of Rhaenyra because he's rightfully guilty for killing her mother. He never considers changing which child of his should be heir even though his sons threaten his daughter's succession and doesn't put absolute primogeniture (the policy where the oldest child succeeds their parent in the line of a monarchy's or lord's succession) into law to protect her, instead expecting the lords to let Rhaenyra rule after his death just because he made them swear an oath to him. Viserys' favoritism for Rhaenyra goes so far that when his son Aemond gets his eye cut out as a child by his nephew he chooses to chastise him for calling his nephew a bastard (he is) and lets Rhaenyra threaten to have him 'sharply questioned' (full on interrogated if not tortured) about where he heard that rumor from. He has such little knowledge of his own children with Alicent outside of that incident that he doesn't even know his daughter Helaena is a Targaryen seer even though he always wanted a kid of his to be one, knows or refuses to acknowledge any of the bad things Aegon does or even knows what his youngest son Daeron looks or acts like because he didn't even have him live at court with the older three. And even though Rhaenyra is his favorite child Viserys sets her up for failure by forcing her to marry Laenor Valeryion, her gay, blonde, biracial cousin (he's chill) and blatantly ignores it when she has three white, brunette boys. At least he could've quietly had them legitimized but he didn't (and even then Rhaenyra should've chosen to have an affair with a man of color if she was going to have bastard kids, but she didn't). He threatens to have a nobleman's tongue cut out for questioning the legitimacy of Rhaenyra's kids and wanting to legally inherit lordship only for his brother to kill that guy immediately after. Hell, even the iron throne itself, the symbol of Targaryen power known to cut unworthy kings, cuts him and gives him a blood infection that he fucking dies from because even the universe rightfully hates him. Yet the writers of HOTD want to convince the audience that he was a good king, father and person. He was not.

I'm back to ask about your wips again 👀 What's Clipped about? Oh oh and Omegaverse Royal AU with Rastim 💕

So the Omegaverse Royal AU is this one, but where it says "Rastim" it's actually a spin-off (or maybe I should say a parallel story? IDK that's what a spin-off is after all, but I wrote everything together and then separated the bits) about what's happening with Tim. I mention in that post that Ra's shows up because he wants a piece of the cake, and in this case the cake involves the Drake estates which 14 yo Tim is set to inherit when he's old enough. Case in point, he's too young for a recognized union of any kind. He presented as an Omega just a few months prior to these events, but by law he's not old enough for an official mating or to inherit anything. Also, King Alexander is not happy with the Al Ghuls coming over and going like "ah yes haha this is mine actually", "oh sure I will take this other one instead". All of this is however not going to stop Ra's from getting what he wants :)

"Clipped" instead is a veeeeeery old WIP. It's the very first DC darkfic I've ever written! I probably posted a couple of snippets here and there but never the entire thing because it's on hiatus, and who knows if I'll ever finish it. I wrote it after reading Future State (more than a year ago), and it's in fact a Future State inspired situation where vigilantes are outlawed so severely that some get executed publicly, some kept locked away for experiments on their meta-genes if they have any, and in general it's not a good situation especially since the Bats and Birds have had their identities revealed to the press. They're forced to live separated and in constant hiding, all linked through Oracle (which is not a single person at this point but a "vigilante-friendly group" lead by Babs) while they try not to get caught by authorities for who knows what.

In this picture, Deathstroke became some sort of vigilante hunter. He's allowed to be free and do whatever he wants (and his kids have some degree of immunity as well, or anyway they're relatively safe), but in exchange he hunts down, captures and "deals" with rogue metas and "former heroes". Which means that some get sent to governamental facilities to be brainwashed rehabilitated, some get publicly executed as mentioned, and some just... "disappear". It took Slade literal years, but finally he got his hands on a good chunk of the flock of birds (Damian, Dick, Tim and Jason). The thing is. Slade is a mental sadistic creep in this one, and before he does anything even remotely helpful, he's going to break the kids to little pieces and then rearrange them as he sees fit.

The story features (or anyway should feature) Dark!Sladin in almost all its shapes. It was really fun to explore how the kids deal with the situation, because Tim took the months of torture of his life and eventually decided to try and follow the rules to limit the damage, Jason instead had a mental breakdown and decided that he'd going to get himself killed again (not going to be easy to make Slade slip though). Damian doesn't grasp the gravity of the situation, and Dick is just desperate to do literally anything to help the others. But again, I'm not surem I will ever even publish it. I might end up posting it incomplete just cuz.

What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?

Meira: Not long at all, her tail is always sort of moving even when the rest of her body is completly still

Wisteria: A loooong time, girl can be a statue if she wants, has mastered staying still.

Orick: a few seconds, after that he starts to fidget with his sleeves or leg bouncing TM

How easy is it for your character to laugh?

Meira: easy to make her chuckle, but hard loud laughs are rare

Wisteria: surprisingly hard, you can never be too sure if her laugh is genuine or not

Orick: Also hard, hes a very dead pan person, tought not entirely humourless, he just usually doesnt show it.

How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

Meira: doesnt have any rituals, she just lays in bed and sleeps, she had no access to books before, and would likely get punished for making too much noise in the night.

Wisteria: Overthinking more like it. She has an habit of staying up into odd hours working and will likely just collapse out of exhaustion.

Orick: he likes to read before sleeping, but doing so under candlelight hurts his already bad eyesight, he does it anyway.

How easy is it to earn their trust?

Your first borns, fraternal twins, Adephasia Aurora Voleri (Rio calls her Angel, you call her 'Phasia), and Gulliver Aiden Voleri

The twins are literally Rios doppelgangers

They share Rio love of food and beautiful sun beaming smile

Because Rio represents the sin of gluttony I wanted their first borns especially, names to reflect that as well and their middle names —all of Rios kids in fact— share a sunny bright meaning

Gulliver comes from old french meaning "glutton" or "greedy person" and Adephagia from Greek mythology, the goddess and personification of gluttony. It was kinda hard to find names that weren't inherently bad pertaining to gluttony, like there were some names that sounded beautiful on the tongue but the meaning and usage was like... oh... oh no

For their middle names I wanted them to reflect their sunny disposition, because like I said they really are Rios minis and their bright smiles are no exception

It was far easier finding names pertaining to the sun, sunshine, or bright light because ya know... it isn't a sin--

For Gullivers middle name I kinda wanted keep with the same tradition going on in this universe where the princes inherit their grandfather's name (Rios middle name being Armand from his grandfather) which would obviously make his middle name Aiden because his grandfather in this case is Rios father but I looked into it more, the name Aiden actually means bright and illuminated☀️.

For Adephagia, she had so many different names cus none I really felt fit her. There was one name I was so set on because it was beautiful, it flowed well and it sounded really poetic on the tongue and then I found out it did not mean what I thought it meant💀 and I was like nah I am not putting a curse on this child👁👁 So we ended up settling with Aurora, I like it though. Aurora meaning dawn, the light before the sunrise. With her peachy chubby cheeks and how she clings to her papa I thought it was perfect

Rio was overjoyed while you were pregnant but was actually a sea of nerves after they were born, I mean you really only signed up for one baby and got two but I guess Rio sperm was a little too potent--

They were big babies two, no wonder this pregnancy caused you so much trouble, how the fuck did these full grown adults come out your coochie, oh hell nah they come out already knowing how to pay bills💀💀 /j

The twins weighed 12 pounds combined at birth and you definitely felt the difference after getting them out of your body, especially for your first pregnancy, were there bad complications during birth they could've killed you. Rio was there with you every step of the way, he'd never miss the birth of your children. He held your hand, kissed your forehead and reassured you through the whole process. He also made sure to tell you hes proud of you went it was all over too, and urge you to rest for as long as you need, you body just went through a lot just now after all

Rio always dreamed of having a family of his own especially since falling in love with you but since recently being promoted to king and plagued with new duties and the burden of governing the whole kingdom of Voleri —with help of course— he was filled with feelings of inadequacy as a father, to him he could be doing so much more.

He's a very good dad and he's a king for god sake so you spend alot of nights stroking his head while telling him he's doing amazing and he's just doing his best and that's all you need

You're also a queen now, and even though you do spend a majority of the time with your kids you now have your own duties to attend to. Although being not of royal blood, you are considered the queen consort, spouse of the king, so you deal more so with social affairs rather than political ones but you're main job as queen consort is to support your husband which you would do anyway.

Thoma being Rios valet, is now promoted to head valet that serves directly under the king period😌💅🏾✨

Which also makes him your nanny.

Gulliver and Adephagia love him though, it's so cute they started calling him uncle Thoma I love it😭😭

Thoma was also the one that was there for you when ever Rio couldn't be around during your pregnancy since he was only very recently crowned king at the time, and it was also still his duty since you were also crowned queen.

Rio absolutely adores his first borns, he will like hide one of them under his cloak when he has a meeting meanwhile your panicking tryna figure out where your goddamn kid went

Adephagia is the older twin and that consistently becomes an arguement point when they're a little older and they're fighting

The twins are fast, even before they learn to walk they're constantly sending you and Rio on a chase through the castle halls zipping and zooming on they're hands and knees crawling up and down the place

Both twins have as big an appetite as their father but Gulliver takes after Rio in nearly every sense, being friendly and outgoing, and he loves to play, even so much as taken an interest in sword fighting and the traditional Volerian hunt when he was old enough. He actually loves being a twin because he always has someone to play with and he loves playing with his sister. If you see him he's always bouncing around and very energetic, also easily distracted. Adephagia however is more on the shyer side and is far more quiet than Gulliver, she does love playing with her brother but often times you'll see her staring off in space or engaged in independent play. She also took up fencing when they got older but she enjoys it more as a hobby or way to clear her head. Gulliver refuses to admit Adephagia is better than him at it

Both twins have ADHD. Adephagia has the inattentive type and Gulliver has the hyperactive type.

Rios a family man and he wants a big family and despite how fast you got pregnant after getting married —three months in and you're breeding for him, he's been stuffing you full of cum since your wedding night— you don't actually have your kids back to back you guys actually wait a couple years before having another kid but not too long cus you want your kids to grow up together

Rio wants to adopt!!!

Rio cares a great deal for the children in the orphanage and is really wants them to find good homes. Thoma is from the orphanage too so he supports the cause, and is forever grateful to have been taken in by someone he would one day follow through all stages of life.

Your pregnancy with Halo was worlds different than with the twins, to every one that saw you, you emitted the "pregnancy glow" as they say and you also didn't experience any terrible symptoms either. While you were pregnant with the twins you were miserable for the most part so you I knew quickly this one was different. Halo was also born during a solar eclipse. It was dark outside due to the obstruction of the sun but in the hours later after Halo was born you saw the sun creep in through the window bathing you two in an ethereal light.

For her middle name, Marisol has a Spanish origin meaning sea and sun. She was also born in the summer if it matters--

Despite feeling like you may have birthed a literal deity, Halo ended up... causing you stress to say the least.

Everyone was absolutely enamored with her and with that comes pure evil.

As an infant she was very fussy and picky about alot of things and sometimes just wanted to cry. I mean sometimes babies just cry.

A happy baby nonetheless loves to play, and adores her older brother and sister but damn this baby is overstimulating

Halo reminds Rio ALOT of his little sister Nica, especially in looks. Them Voleri genes are strong as hell

Halo growing into a toddler she stayed her sweet bubbly self but was still demanding and often threw fits.

He magic also manifested really early too so you definitely felt like you had to watch her a little more closely, you didn't want it to go haywire if it is that this tiny ass baby had ultra powerful magic at her disposal

If you thought Adephagia was attached to Rio you should see how Halo hangs off his arm like her purse.

He spoils the fuck outta her too, they're just as bad as each other

If mama says no, daddy will probably say yes in a heart beat apparently

She does mellow out as she gets older, and you two do make sure that she has a safe space to calm down instead of scolding her, or punishing her for acting out when you know theres a reason for this behavior, especially if she knows better

Aside from that she isn't a troublesome child, shes an angel when shes willing to compromise and cooperate and is very cuddly with her parents and siblings as well as and especially with uncle Thoma♡ (halo develops a crush on Thoma when shes a bit older but don't tell Rio🤫)

Like I said she loves to play and is very frequently seen playing with toys or with her older siblings that love her to death

The trouble the twins caused when they were babies is truely compacted into this tiny little thing with the added bonus of screaming

Halo loves playing chase when your trying to get her dressed, running up and down the castle halls as fast on her little feet as the twins were combined, ear shattering screams flying from her throat as she ducks and avoids both you and Rio who chase her as she runs around in her diaper the two of you just trying to put her dress on. She thinks it's a game.

Unlike Gulliver and Adephagia, who took an interest in fencing in their own right, Halo stray from that path taking up dance instead and light on her feet she is.

Halo becomes the nation's sweetheart when shes older.

NOW BACK TO ADOPTIONS‼

I'm not sure about all the specifics yet but you adopt two young kids, very young, toddlers even, maybe a little after Halo turns four. They're not related to each other and you get them on two separate occasions but in both cases their story is very similar

In one of their cases the father negligent and the mother died during childbirth, leaving the child without a legal guardian before they're even 6 months old. Rio after hearing this story especially after failed attempts to contact the father saw it to watch over this child at the orphanage the next few months every time he visited, because reports say the father both left the country and has no intention of ever wanting anything to do with the child. He grew attached to them in the few months he knew of their existence and the two of you made the decision to adopt them.

The other child is a case of abandonment. A basket was left on the steps of the orphanage with a baby inside, very recently been born, not probably cleaned, umbilical cord still attached, but there was a degree of care from how the baby had been wrapped in the blanket. The orphanage suggests the it was likely an alarmingly young mother that had no business being pregnant in the first place. Delivered her own baby and dropped it by the orphanage know she couldn't take care of it. This child had no papers, or birth certificate. You and Rio just happened to pass through while the caregivers were cleaning them up and putting them down to sleep before trying to sort out their legal documents. I have a vivid image in my head of the caregivers pausing what they're doing to give their king a respectful bow, Rio dismissing it immediately. You guys hear the story of the infant sleeping in the nursery and it was that moment you made the decision. Rio picked their name.

I imagine you were also pregnant again at that time listen this man wants to breed you-- and you were realizing how big your family was getting, this pregnancy makes baby number 6 but your 3rd pregnancy overall.

Once you're done having kids, you're both done having kids. Period. Rio love his family and he love his kids and he loves being a father to a big big family and he especially loves you when you're pregnant but you're not only his wife but the mother of his kids. If you're done, he's done. You have plenty of kids already, no need for more.

The first was was very intimate and small. It was kinda a secret🤐

In the small wedding you basically got all the legal paperwork done and declared your love for one another in a very romantic way. All the other princes and their valets were present + Sherry and Violet cus they couldn't miss your wedding for the world. Roy and Sherry signed as witnesses and from then onward you had officially taken the last name Voleri.

The second one was mostly for kingdoms sake, much larger and more extravagant but not too extravagant because it is still your wedding. This wedding was the "official" wedding. The royal wedding the people of Voleri look forward too and celebrate. You walked down the aisle, read vows, sealed it with a kiss, had a reception, had a wedding cake, everything you expected to have at a wedding. Though you were already legally married, it felt like a dream all the same, because unlike the more intimate wedding where you only had your closest friends present, at this one you were around Rios family that accepted you into the family with open arms and nothing but warmth

You knew you had their approval long before Rio had even proposed but this really solidified it in your head. Meeting his extended family and how they adored you, all the important people in Rios life that were ready to love you as if you were one of their own just made you feel so warm inside.

Now like I said before you were pregnant not long after you got married but not so soon as to before Rio was crowned king.

You had a private little honey moon on one of the islands surrounding Voleri where uh... you were definitely making babies😳 Rio stuffed and filled you like a goddamn oreo.

From the moment the two of you had moved back into Voleri castle preparations were being made for Rios coronation, preparing for when King Aiden is to officially step down and pass on the title. Once your wedding passed preparations were in full force and by the time you returned from your honeymoon it was only a month away.

This coronation was a big deal for the both of you, not only because Rio would be inheriting the crown after all the long years of his life but as his wife you would gain the title of a queen.

The king and queen stand and a minister takes place where some words are stated about Voleri, its lineage leaning up to the line of succession. Rio has to take an oath and swears to do all in his power to be the king Voleri needs and deserves. After this the floor is turned to his father who also says a few words, this more about kingship and about his oldest son. He is declared king and Aiden gestures for his son to stand and Rio turns to the crowd dignified and regal before sitting on the throne his father once sat. After this you kneel before the queen and the minister takes place again and says a few words, a shorter speech aimed at the line of queens before the queen steps up the speak. She speaks of Queenship and what it means to be a queen with the added heartfelt message to reassure you. The same thing happens where she places her crown on your head and cloak around your shoulders. You are then declared queen and give the crowd your most dignified look before sitting in the throne next to Rio. To finish off the ceremony you and Rio stand hand in hand before the crowd and are officially named King and Queen of Voleri. After this you are then seen on the balcony overlooking the courtyard where many citizens of Voleri cheer as you are announced to the kingdom as new monarchs.

Two months after the coronation and three months after getting married you find out you're pregnant with your first child(ren)

Genesis is your first adopted child, she's the one that was abandoned, left in a basket outside the orphanage freshly birthed with no papers. You and Rio did plan on adopting but on that visit to the orphanage you didn't expect to walk away as parents to your forth kid especially since you were already pregnant and will soon enter your third trimester.

You and Rio just happened to pass through while the caregivers at the orphanage were trying to sort out the legal documents of this unknown child placed at their doorstep, cleaning them up, checking for signs of trauma before putting them to sleep in the nursery. The caregivers suspect it's a case of an alarmingly young mother that delivered her own baby, dropping it off at the orphanage knowing it would probably have a much better chance at life there(the caregivers also infer the bio mom was in her early teens and at serious risk were she to keep it and made a gamble delivering it herself)

Upon hearing the story of the infant sleeping in the nursery you and Rio had to step out and have a serious conversation. You did want to adopt this child, you both did, but you had to talk about what you did and didn't want for your family, the child and their circumstances, and what it would mean if one of the bio parents were to find the child before they were one month old. Legally an infant has to be 7 days old to be adopted but after if the bio parents change their mind in 21 days, the child has to be returned to the biological family. This child you've only just found out about is not more than a few days old, even their birthday has to be inferred by the caregivers because not much is known about them yet and their legal documents are yet to be filled out

Because this is your first adoption, this is a big decision for the both of you and even the royal family

This decision made you seriously consider your wealth and privilege as members of the royal family to be able to have as many children as you want, to be healthy enough to have children as well as have the option to adopt children if you so wish because not many are afforded this luxury especially since Voleri is a very fairly rural and agricultural state. Alot of your conversation had to do with weather you were adopting because you loved being parents and truely wanted this child and for it to be in a good home or just because you could and it was available to you

You ultimately made your decision to adopt this little baby girl, upon meeting her you were attached right away and you couldn't part without her

Rio picked her name. Genesis Nova Voleri.

The name Genesis is a Spanish name meaning "creation" or "beginning" the name chosen to symbolize a new life for the infant and as your family's first adopted child and the growing of your family as you give birth to your fifth child months after bringing Genesis home.

Nova, her middle name takes a similar meaning coming from the Latin word novus meaning new and in astronomy the term nova is given to bright stars that appear suddenly in the sky and release powerful energy. The name Nova itself means bright star and goes along with the trend of all of Rios children's middle names having a bright meaning ☆

You bring Genesis home at 2 months old, your 7 months pregnant at this time and three months later you go into labor.

When babies are born their hearing and eyesight aren't fully developed so at 5 months old Genesis is full of personality and is starting to recognize her own name when you say it and might turn toward you when you say it, shes super observant and it's not uncommon for her to just be looking at you, shes just trying to recognize your features.

Babbling her heart away making sounds and having most of her parents attention until now means theres quite a bit of a transition when the new baby comes along

After a long labor you bring home a beautiful baby boy Theo Luca Voleri

Theo is a Greek name meaning gods gift and is often associated with intelligence, and ambition as well as creativity and a zest for life

Rio says Theo reminds him alot of himself as a kid but that smile is all you

Theo is also really friendly with the town's people and will often come home with little gifts he got from his sweet smile and a love for play

It was hard to find good balance with two young babies at the same time especially since they're 5 months apart and have different needs

When Adephagia and Gulliver were babies you could keep them more or less on the same schedule but when one baby, curious as can be and starting to learn to talk and crawl while the other still needs their head supported and sleeps more frequently you had to find a way to keep up

Not to mention Halo is 4 at this time and the twins are 7, you're pretty such in full parent mode 24/7

You will say though you don't ever regret adopting Genesis only months before Theo was born and you love watching them gro together

When you brought Theo home for the first time you wanted to cry seeing how small he was compared to Genesis, despite being less than 6 months apart you couldn't help but reminisce on when Genesis was that small and she was just an infant in and orphanage nursery and you could already see time flying impossibly fast when Theo gets bigger and your celebrating Genesis's first birthday with a 7 month old on your hip, it gets you all emotional

Theo's middle name Luca is an Italian name meaning bringer of light

Many would actually say Theo and Halo are near identical or that Theo is Halos male version despite being 4 years apart

They do though look alot alike and Theo looks up to his older sister so of course some of their mannerisms are the same not to mention they're siblings that share the same mother and father, if they didn't look alike that would be concerning.

Theo does though take up similar hobbies as Halo like dance and arts but even still, it seems Theos more attached to Genesis than Halo, this mostly due to being raised more or less simultaneously and being the same age

Despite being months apart and not technically biologically related, Genesis and Theo are treated as twins, are super close and are often not seen without the other, they've known eachother all their lives and couldn't ask for a better sibling

I imagine this only slightly changes as they get older but they're still really close

Next we have Atlas Nikko Voleri

Atlas is your second adoption and 6th child aka the child before you take a 8 year break from having kids💀💀

Atlas is a slightly similar case to Genesis and when I say similar I mean that he was pretty much just dropped off at the orphanage unannounced

Unlike Genesis he had papers when he was put into the adoption system so you and Rio didn't have the luxury of picking his name but you do still love him all the same

Atlas's bio mother died during childbirth and his bio dad wanted nothing to do with him, going as far as to leave the country and surrounding regions

Still only being an infant Atlas was bounced around different family members that were ultimately deemed unfit to take care of a child before being sent to the orphanage and put under the care of the various caregivers there in the nursery

After one particularly hectic day you urged Rio go take a walk to wind down for the day and that you'll take care of the kids for now, he was hesitant not wanting to leave you alone or leave alone but agreed and took a little stroll through the town and paid a short visit to the orphanage

The smiles on the children's faces did lift his spirits evidently and he played with them for a little bit before noticing one of the care givers bouncing a small child on their knee. A baby, not more then 6 months old

The caregivers give a small bow in the presence of their king and that's when Rio is introduced to little baby Atlas

Rios weak weak heart melts as the baby smiles at him and his first thought is to run home and tell his wife about this fuck ass baby he met on his little stroll💀💀

From then on you and Rio looked in on Atlas for the next few months and anyone could tell your connection to this child was strong, you even witnessed his first steps, you almost sealed the deal and brought him home with you on the spot

On one of your visits, little Atlas was standing holding himself up by the side of the chair he was holding on to, he 10 months and hasn't started walking yet but oftentimes with grab onto the sides of furniture and pull himself up to his feet. This particular time when Atlas was standing up, he caught glimpse of the both of you at the door and set his sights on Rios tall figure as he came further into the room. The baby boy reach out one of his little hands toward Rio knowing exactly where he wanted to go before letting go of the chair. Rio noticed the little boy standing next to the chair just as you joined his side, Atlas reaching his hands out toward you two as he wobbled a little bit trying to find his balance before taking a shaky step forward. The caregivers gasped as he took another wobbly step forward, Rio approaching the little boy to close the distance, Atlas taking another little step before falling on his bum at Rios feet. Rio picked him with nothing but praises and little tickles until the caregivers ran over saying those were his first steps. Both you and Rio were even prouder of the little boy knowing this and played with him some more before going home.

And it was on that walk home where you chated about adopting him. You brought him home with you after he turned one.

were one to view the earliest of carson's years from an outside lens, there'd probably be cause for concern. the family was in a constant state of flux and motion: moving from place to place, never settling down, never establishing a sense of home or normalcy. had his parents not been as good as they were at shielding their kids from the chaos that was their life, things would have been a lot worse.

he does not have a college degree. beyond the social aspect, he didn't really like the structure of school ( #justadhdthings ), so he just didn't go back after squeaking through high school.

none of the decorations in his apartment were things he picked out. if it were up to him, he'd probably have an r/malelivingspace, but the people in his life have essentially decorated his place for him. in most ways this is a good thing, but there's definitely a few more... questionable items that he got as gag gifts ( there are so many ugly throw blankets and weird knickknacks ).

a bit of a sleeper agent at trivia night. knows a lot of random, pointless knowledge. ...what ? he may not have done great in school, but that doesn't stop him from watching a lot of trivia shows.

Evergreen Mint! A 44 year old man who wants to shield his four children from a generational burden: an ice curse. He and his wife set out on a journey to find a permanent cure for the curse, which leads him to often clash with his younger brother and his daughter.

Now to ramble on about the design. Sheesh....that old design looks like hot garbage in terms of the colors imo. I knew what I was trying to go for, like evergreen tree with some starry night elements but the cape and stuff made him appear way more evil than intended. My friend said it best the old design made Evergreen look like he was working with his brother Gingersnap and I DID NOT WANT THAT LOL. Total opposite from what I intended.

This time I fully leaned into the green, browns, and wanted a "refined adventurer" vibe. His outfit is somewhat inspired by some equestrian outfits with the white pants, boots, and buttoned up coat. ....Evergreen might have a horse, I dunno xD those horses from Mario Sports Superstars exist! The colors on his belt represent the hair color of all of his kids. Mocha has this element on her design too.

Mocha Mint! A 45 year old woman who wields all sorts of dark magic. Found a spell to quell the ice curse on her children temporarily. Entrusted her older sister to take care of the kids while she goes on daring adventures with her husband. Has a sassy streak.

Looking at the differences, I'm glad I abandoned the Christmas theme of the old Mocha and transferred it onto her niece which you'll see later. But I liked keeping the red in her design! Gives her and Evergreen the red/green contrast. It's kind of a shame that I don't have that matching starry night design between the two but the coffee stained scarf is soooooo pretty. This new design just screams "Mocha"

Fun fact, Mocha's hair color is the exact same color as my sona's. This is just a nod towards how Minty started out as my sona and then turned into the girl you know today. Doesn't mean Mocha is related to my sona though xD

Cinder Bundtee! A 49 year old man who's a simple but charming lumberjack. A fun uncle and father, a day with him will always leave you with a smile. Helps his wife with her boutique, and is good friends with the Mario Bros. His axe and hammer swings are no joke.

I knew his design wasn't going to change too much when I was working on the new version. Just amplifying the old design to the next level! His name used to be Cinna (like based after Cinnamon) but Cinder started to sound a lot better so it changed. With the new name, I changed his shirt color from warm browns to greys. It really makes the pink pop! You'd bet he would also wear pink tshirts and whatnot. ALSO HIS BEARD IS WAY MORE NOTICABLE NOW! I swear I forgot it was there in the old design, I wasn't great at portraying facial hair back then.

I love my short chubby king and he deserves to live with his one daughter three nephews and one niece

Vanilli Bundtee! A 50 year old woman who owns a very successful clothing and bakery business under Toad Town's busiest boutique. She's a responsible woman that holds herself and others to high standards. Over-protective to a fault.

Absolutely adored her old design and I'm still proud for coming up with it even though I didn't really solidify the idea of her owning the Bundtee Boutique until later. So of course things didn't really change, just some refinements. Love how the new color of the glasses really make her eyes pop out at you. I always struggled with these old designs to make the glasses contrast and noticeable with everything else going on.

Vanilli's name is actually taken from an old concept of my OC Velva having an older sister. I've had multiple attempts of giving Velva sisters but none of them stuck. But I think Vanilli works best for this stunning woman right here~

Velvina Bundtee! A 25 year old woman who helps look after her mom's shop, as she plans to inherit it one day. Tends to be a worrier, but loves her cousins dearly. Been practicing the art of light magic just in case anything happens.

It's fun to create an OC inspired by another OC...that would be Velva. This is where I kinda transferred Mocha's old Christmas outfit to...it's a nice mix of reds and greens, and the whites look so so fluffy! When I look at Velvina I think about a librarian and that's about right xD

That hair looks so much better btw. The old haircut was just not vibing correctly imo. Just in general I've been hella improving on the hair of my characters and I'm proud of that!

Frost Mint! A 19 year old were-cat (once human) who highly enjoys researching about animals. Hopes to one day become a veterinary doctor/professor. Pretty chill with his unexpected transformation these days, but wants to learn more.

Frost was one of those characters that needed a fresh new rework from the ground up, I guarantee almost all the colors of the design were changed. Took forever to find a good new fur color. The green looks nice but then it's hard to decide what to do with the rest of the outfit to make Frost....well, Frost. His cat-elements are inspired by the kitties seen in Bowser's Fury. He's part cat but that doesn't mean he's not a Mint either. I'd wear that tank top irl if I could.

Pepper Mint! A 13 year old boy who's headstrong and confident to a fault. Picks brawls with others and will always stand up for what's right. One day he hopes to be as strong as someone like his uncle, or the mysterious fighter Aquamarine.

A trend I seem to notice with these newer designs is that I made everyone look just a little bit older, which works for me. I think Pepper and his younger brother Spear were originally going to be around 9/10 years old. He's entering his teen years! And with that I present to him the dueling gloves from mario party xD there's no specific reason in particular Pepper gets mario party items aside from I think they look cool.

Spear Mint! A 12 year old boy that's focused on learning all about technology and machines. Calm and collected, he tries to rein in his overactive older brother. Looks up to his elders and is generally conflict avoidant.

The small amount of changes between the old and new Spear is crazy! The main thing was fixing the design on his pants and now the ice flower on his shirt is based off of the one seen in partners in time. Did you know that was one of the first appearances of the ice flower? I like the new symmetry in Spear's hair, and he looks like a spitting image of his dad. Pepper and Spear are somewhat based off of some of my irl brothers. I have 4 :)

Gingersnap Mint! He's a 42 year old man that uh, he wants to use his beloved niece to bring back a really old soul back to life to wreak havoc and rule the world. Maybe even bring back the dead wife he misses. Thinks the ice powers are a blessing.

HOOOO BOY HE AND HIS DAUGHTER GOT SUCH A GLOW UP........because I had no idea what I was doing back then.....I had the base idea of "evil uncle" but not official ice cult leader like I do now. I swear I spent like. Hours figuring out the colors and how to balance the teal and the purple/grape. Love the new cloak to signify the Ice Goddess (my fun third Firebrand/Thunderhand god-like OC) He also has both Grodus and Cortex inspirations :)

Not much else to say here, I really enjoy a good bad guy design. Gingersnap is a fun tragic villain who can be very silly, very threatening, and probably whack you with his cane.

Lavender Mint! A 22 year old woman who aspires for her father's love and acceptance. Thinks she'll be alright on her own until she meets some good, lifelong companions. Very deadly with her ice powers, and very socially aloof.

I'm very inspired by Blaze the Cat when creating her design and personality. You may notice there's no teal in her new design like there is in Gingersnap's, and that's intentional. But her outfit is very centered around the Ice Goddess her father's cult worships. It was tough to balance the outfit between decorative and combat ready but I think I did a good job! The new hair is fabulous too, it flows a lot nicer.
