The Coming of Spring
Loki Laufeyson x f!Reader
Synopsis: It is May Eve on Asgard, a Holiday that exists to celebrate love, fertility, and the coming of Spring…
Though, if your lover, Prince Loki has his say in the matter (and he usually does), Spring will not be the only thing to come, nor will it be the only worshiped aspect of this particular eve.
Note: Welcome to the smut fest! For some reason I've found myself up at six in the morning writing this, so please forgive any mistakes I've made while in my horrendously exhausted state. I hope you enjoy! :)
Warnings: Pretty graphic NSFW, vulgarity, somewhat of a breeding kink, and pure unadulterated filth
Word Count: 2,419
There was a rather frantic energy pulsing throughout the room as the palace staff rushed about nervously, not a single set of idle hands to be found in the combined effort to finish the preparations for the afternoon's upcoming festivities in a timely manner.
You blew out a puff of air, already exhausted from the tasks you had completed thus far and silently cursing this day for daring to come at all.
And yet this year, as with every other, the springtime holiday still arrived, the augur of some great change, according to legend, though for you it always meant the same thing:
Waking up at five in the morning to prepare for the upcoming afternoon festival in whatever manner the queen deemed fit for the proper celebration of what had come to be well known Walpurgisnacht, or May Eve, the holiday that brought upon the loud and boisterous worship of love, fertility, and the coming of Spring.
And of course, a day so dedicated to such things was one of pleasant festivities to be certain, and thus you never failed to enjoy it, but even still, your chores weighed heavily upon you as your overworked fingers weaved petals and stems through glistening golden iron.
It had been four hours since you had gotten up to work, and somehow it had felt like an eternity, your hands cramping and begging for relief as the tips of your fingers rubbed themselves raw with duty.
You paused for a moment to yawn into the crook of your elbow, wishing for the one hundredth time within that hour alone that you had gotten more sleep the night before.
Still, it had been a worthy sacrifice, had it not? A little bit of exhaustion today in order to avoid the simmering desire of the realm's younger prince throughout the festivities, or, more accurately yet, throughout your abundant tasks that you had scheduled about your day?
Yes, almost assuredly. You had learned all too well from last year (and the other two before that), that it was rather hard to do such things as wash the finest of the palace's dinnerware with Loki's skilled fingers upon your chest or beneath your dress, after all.
So, if a bit of freedom from your concerns of being dragged off into some dark corner upon every available moment of your dear prince's day came at the cost of you being forced to wake up early while he slept away the previous evening's activities, then so be it.
At least this way, you could know for certain that you still had quite a few hours yet until someone urged the prince to rise, giving you plenty of time to complete at least the preparatory chores before he began his ever persistent search for you.
He seemed to enjoy the game of seeking you out each morning, or at whatever time it was that he rose or found himself at leave, though usually it was to do little more than tease or annoy you as you attempted to work through his ceaseless attempts at distraction.
But on a holiday like today, you found that he was typically all too content with taking his teasing quite a few steps further. That said, much to your (mostly feigned) chagrin, that did not mean that he never found himself seeking out far less innocent sounds than those of annoyance, laughter, or sheer disbelief from you on random days throughout the year.
No, Loki was incorrigible, and beyond even that, incomprehensible with his choices and behaviors, and you could normally never hope to know upon which day you might find yourself sandwiched between his chest and some palace wall, though with the arrival Walpurgisnacht, it was almost always a certainty.
Still, with something that was perhaps akin to a fool's ignorance, you dared to hope that maybe, after a night like the one this dawn had followed, your prince may have been just sated enough to make it through the holiday without torturing you so the way that he usually chose to.
Such a thought could not be so terribly remiss, could it? Not after the hours upon hours of groping, fleeting, and cradling touches that the two of you had offered one another the night before.
Not after an afternoon's worth of teasing at the hands of the god of mischief upon that very same day, or the longing glances that carried on well into the evening.
Not after he had cornered you in the garden after dinner had come to an end, speaking his long withheld and inconceivably filthy promises of what was to come clearly and casually into the cool night air as if the two of you were simply taking an evening stroll together, talking about the weather or your hobbies rather than the way he planned to have you upon his tongue within the hour, hands creating bruising imprints of obvious ownership in the soft flesh of your hips and thighs as he drove you to madness before pulling you right back toward sanity again with the blunt tip of his cock as it kissed up against your wet folds, smearing precum amongst the remnants of his saliva and the glistening drool of your already thoroughly abused cunt.
Not after you had given in a mere twenty minutes after hearing his whorish promises of what he intended to do to you once he laid his hands upon your bare flesh again, knocking quietly at his heavy chamber doors until he finally came to find you standing there, having made you wait in a manner that was no doubt intentional just so he could feel the exaggerated way that you melted against him when he finally pulled you near, kissing you deeply until his amused and teasing chuckles turned into low and rumbling groans that arose from deep within his chest, and he pulled away to order you to your knees before him, mouth open and waiting so he could see the way your eager tongue stuck out to taste him even before he was bare before you, and how your perfect thighs began to rub together in a fruitless attempt to ease the ache that the sight of him never ceased to cause.
Not after he had held you firm against his chest, arm looped around your middle as you'd laid beneath him on all fours while he'd thrust his strong and lithe hips against your trembling ones, not an ounce of mercy to be found as he hissed and moaned with reckless abandon beside your ear, the sounds of his pleasure easily matching and occasionally even drowning out your own as he reminded you of who you had been born to serve, to worship, and to cum for upon his very command.
And oh, did he command.
Eleven orgasms, if you had counted correctly, and you were fairly certain with as hazy as your mind had felt after the first four, that you had not.
Your cheeks burned red at the clear and persistent memories of the previous night, Loki's satisfied groans and sluttish moans playing over and over within your head as if he were right there with you, cock buried in whichever tight, wet hole was deemed worthy of his attentions within that particular moment.
You swallowed thickly, pressing your thighs together tightly as you continued your seemingly endless work, flower after flower coming to rest perfectly upon the third archway that had been granted your efforts for the morning thus far.
Though, in spite of how diligently you worked at your assigned chore, it seemed that the fates themselves had something against it being completed,
For what other reason could there be for such familiarly agile hands to suddenly rest upon your hips so early in the morn, in spite of the tiresome escapades that had occurred the night before?
It was so unlike the younger prince of Asgard to awaken so early after a night of passion, after which he tended to lounge upon his sheets, naked body blessing the very realm with its presence as sunlight danced upon his skin.
You had seen that many a time after all, hadn't you? So you would certainly know, better than most at that, if not better than all.
But then again, it was so very much like Loki to rise early not to seize this day, but rather to seize you upon it as he had done for the past three May Eves since he had claimed you as his own...
And maybe you had not considered that fact as diligently as you should have while working to tire him out the night before, though now you were embarrassed to admit that you scarcely knew why you would have wanted to do so in the first place.
It seemed that your rather vivid memories of the prior evening's festivities had brought about a familiar stirring betwixt your thighs, and you knew all too well that there was only one set of hands, one silver tongue, one long and devastatingly thick cock, and one god of mischief who could help you to ease your sudden discomfort.
"Good morning, my dear."
He purred against the shell of your ear, warm breaths causing your hair to flutter about delicately as his hands traveled over top your gown.
"It would seem that I require some additional support when it comes to selecting and befitting myself with the proper attire for this afternoon's festivities."
He all but purred, forcing you to bite back a shiver as you struggled not to make your already overwhelming need for him too obvious.
It was never fun to just give in, after all.
You knew all too well how much he liked the chase.
So, with that thought in mind, you steadied yourself to the best of your ability, giving your already racing imagination a few brief moments of peace before finally, you spoke,
"Is that so, my prince?"
You asked, feigning curiosity as you did your best to continue working on the task at hand, sore fingers working deftly at soft petals and slightly thorny stems as you weaved them continuously through metal.
"Well, I regret to inform you that your dear mother, our most respected queen, specifically requested that I myself create the flowered arches for the festival this year."
You began,
"She was kind enough to let me know how much she enjoyed my work upon them last eve in Lady Juniper's absence, and asked if I might be willing to work my magic for a second year running."
You heard an amused chuckle arise from behind you, and though you were certain that Loki had already planned something truly devious to drag you away from your duties with, you continued to feign innocence.
"And how could I dare say no to a request such as that, dear prince? It would seem that Lady Juniper's past maternity leave has provided me with quite the opportunity with which to rise into our lady's good graces, and who would I be to squander such a thing?"
There was a thoughtful hum from your lover as he reached beyond you to thumb at a few of the petals that decorated your current project with his left hand, though the right stayed firm upon your hip, the pads of his fingers pressing deftly into your flesh just as they had done the night before, mirroring the bruises he'd left there perfectly.
"An utter fool, to be sure."
He replied easily, voice low and smooth as he continued,
"Though, I can think of a far better way for you to rise into the All-Mother's good graces, sweetling."
He murmured, lips brushing against your neck just enough so that you could feel the smirk that rested so prominently upon them.
He had you exactly where he wanted you, though you could scarcely bring yourself to mind when there was such a tremendous desire building for him deep within your core.
"Oh?"
You asked curiously, nimble fingers still working on your once so heavily fixated on project,
"And what might that be, Prince Loki?"
At that, you felt the ever teasing god of mischief crowd your back, his hardness pressed against you as you desperately fought the urge to wriggle against his crotch just to hear the no doubt sluttish groan he would let out if you did.
Thankfully enough though, your lover seemed eager to get to the point, the reasoning for that fact somehow growing even harder at the touch of your warmth, even with it being so dulled beneath your clothing.
He chuckled,
"Well my dear, I think you would find her to be quite pleased if you were to request your own leave in the coming months."
He purred, and this time, you could not even hope to fight back the shiver that followed, your hands finding either side of the nearly completed archway with a gasp as Loki bent you over at the waist, pressing himself as close to your clothed core as he could manage with a low and eager groan, his words dripping with both amusement and thinly veiled arousal as he spoke up again,
"Would you like me to give you a reason to do so?"
He all but growled, offering you one tortuously slow gyration of his hips in order to ensure your understanding of his less than subtle connotations as the hand that had once gripped so tightly to your hip moved swiftly beneath your dress, rubbing firmly against your bundle of nerves through your undergarments as you gasped both out of humiliation for where he had you so plainly in need of him, as well as out of arousal at his confident and ever beseeching touch.
And then suddenly, you were giving fervent and almost pleading nods in response to his previous question, having given up entirely on any hope of completing your most important project of the day.
It was, after all, May Eve, and how else should one hope to properly celebrate the coming of the Spring if not by blossoming beneath the touch of the queen's beloved second son?
And, it was as Loki had so cleverly stated himself,
It was not as if you would not be arriving swiftly and permanently within Frigga's good graces soon.
No, not if the god of mischief had his way,
Not if the two of you celebrated Walpurgisnacht in the way that Freyja herself had intended.

What was once a home filled with love, laughter and passionate moans is now hollow and empty.
The haunting silence of the house only fuels his self-hatred. He can’t stop blaming himself because he knows, deep inside, that he could’ve avoided all this mess if he had only listened to you.
When a dead body showed up in the river by the old mill, David was quickly assigned the case. It might have taken him a couple of months, but he successfully found the man responsible for a such a horrendous crime.
The man was Frankie Donovan, a bus driver and self-made drug dealer. You would’ve never guessed by simply looking at the man, due to his scruffy appearance and uneducated demeanor, but he had successfully made around 500 thousand dollars from producing and selling meth.
It might not have been much to some people, but to a man who grew on the country skirts of Conyers, bouncing around from trailer park to trailer park and addict parents, that money was more precious to him than his own life.
No one would’ve believed that Donovan was capable of making so much money. Most people underestimated him either because of his job, his poor background or, what appeared to seem like, his friendly nature. He might have fooled many, but not David.
In the empty house that belongs to both of you, David stands in front of the foggy bathroom mirror with a towel wrapped his hip.
He stares at his stoic reflection and takes in the physical effects your absence has had on him. Dark circles under his bloodshot eyes. Hollowed cheeks from the loss of appetite. The prickly 5 o’clock shadow growing out that he refuses to waste time shaving.
The lingering heat from his hot shower constricts the air around him. He leans down to splash some cold water on his face, hoping that it will provide just a little bit of relief. Although the water soothes him on the surface, it fails to subdue him within.
He runs a trembling hand over his face to try and keep his composure, but he’s losing it. His breath shortens as the room spins around him. What feels like rocks settle in his throat. His chest tightens with rage until he finally explodes and punches the mirror before him repeatedly.
“It’s your fucking fault!” he repeatedly shouts at himself.
Dangerous shards shatter into the sink and onto the counter. David doesn’t feel it just yet, but blood drips from his knuckles over the shards. He takes a look at his hand. His fit of fury let out a bit of the steam that he had pent up inside him, but it’s not enough to make him better.
Nothing will make him feel better until you’re home, safe and sound. He promised he would always keep you safe and he feels like he failed you. There's nothing that can silence that thought in his mind.
Once he’s poorly rinsed and wrapped his knuckles with gauze to stop the bleeding, he drags himself into the bedroom that lingers with the scent of you and haphazardly chooses a few items of clothing. He doesn’t bother with the usual button-up shirt. A simple black thermal, a pair of pants and usual boxers. He tries to get dressed as fast as he can.
David hates being in the house for too long, but he tries to avoid the bedroom as much as he can. Not only does everything there remind him of you, but it’s all still the same as you left it before you went to work that day and he wants to keep it that way.
The uncertainty of the future fucking terrifies him. He doesn’t know if you’re alive, he doesn’t know if you’re hurt. His colleagues are doing their best to find you, but the fear he secretly has of you not coming home is ever present. So, he keeps the bedroom the way you left it to create a false sensation that you’re somehow still there almost like a ghost.  Like you're still coming home, even though he's not sure you will.
It’s been almost two days since you’ve been missing. The captain made it very clear to David that he could not, under any circumstances, take the case due to his close relationship to the victim. Being off your case drives him insane, but it’s not enough to make him stop looking for you.
He might not be able to professionally investigate, but it doesn't stop him from questioning the local thugs in the neighborhood about the recent kidnapping. After coming to a dead-end last night, he spent the rest of the night driving aimlessly, hoping he might find you somewhere.
He came home for a quick shower before resuming his illegal search for you. He’s tired beyond belief, but his mind can’t concentrate on anything else besides his missing fianceé.
Sat on the edge of the bed you used to share, he looks over at the engagement ring still sealed in a plastic baggie on your nightstand and reaches over to hold it in his hands. Letting his head hang low, he lifts his bloodied hand and holds his forehead in it. His head pounds as memories flood his thoughts.
When a call about an abduction came in from a co-worker of yours, David could feel his heart sink down to his stomach. He didn’t want to jump to conclusions, but the thought that you could’ve been the one kidnapped scared him to death.
Tumblr media
He is in another town, a more populated, small and neighboring town who’s courthouse Conyers was appointed to. David hadn’t been aware of the newly opened case until he made it back to his car and saw 3 missed calls from his captain.
When he arrives at your workplace’s parking lot, he climbs out of his car so quickly that he doesn’t even remember to close the door to take the keys out of the ignition. It all feels like a dream, like nothing is real, everything around his is far from touch and he’s floating through the air
“Tell me it’s not her,” he begs already fearing the worst as he marches towards the blockade of police officers preserving the scene.
“Loki, I’m sorry, but you can’t be here right now. I can’t let you through.”
O’Malley has to hold him up as David’s knees give in and sits him on the curb. Kneeling in front of him, he instructs David to breathe as the air thickens in his throat.
“I-I gotta find her, captain. I gotta-“
“What you gotta do is let us do our job, Loki. You can’t work on this case and you know why. Tell me what you know.”
The truth, at the time where he can barely remember his own name, is that he doesn’t know who could have taken you. He’d put away so many bad guys already and, just like the Keller-Birch case, kidnapping were becoming more and more often in the small town of Conyers.
David is in no condition to answer most of the questions that his boss needed to ask. At least, not right there.
“David, let’s go back to the station. We can talk better there.”
“No. I’m not fucking leave. I need to be here. I need to find her!” he insists, wide eyes locked on the scene as the forensic investigators search the area.
His watchful eye notices one of the investigators lift something up from the ground after taking pictures of the object. As the woman places the small item into a plastic bad to preserve for DNA or prints, he quickly stands on his feet. Despite the dizziness that strikes him suddenly, he pushes his way through the uniformed cops, but there are too many of them to hold him back from the scene.
“Get the fuck of- Let me go! That’s her ring! That’s my fianceé’s fucking ring!” he shouts at the investigator while being restrained.
She looks at O’Malley who nods and allows her to show David the evidence. Walking towards David, he finally calms down enough and complies in order to make sure it is yours. And, just as he fears, it is indeed yours.
His hands tremble as he looks at the plastic evidence baggie containing your engagement ring. He closes his eyes as dread floods his chest.
Tumblr media
The ring is technically evidence and is actually supposed with the forensics team to process, but David stole it from the scene to bring it home with him.
Tears drip against the plastic. He just wants you to come home.
The buzzing cellphone he'd left on your nightstand snaps him back to the present. Quickly wiping his tired blue eyes, he looks over at the phone placed beside his gun and badge. The thought of taking his weapon to his head to end the agonizing pain and guilty flashes in his mind.
Before he finds the courage to reach for the firearm, his gaze drifts and lands on a book you had been reading when you were home and he recalls one specific conversation you had had one night.
Tumblr media
“You got a strange call today on the landline.”
You’re sat on the bed with your back against the headboard and a book in hand.
“Yeah? What’d they say?” he asks lying tiredly on the bed beside you.
Lifting your arm to make way for him, he nestles himself into your side with his strong arms locked around your hips while his face nuzzles into your waist with closed tired eyes.
“I dunno. I mean, I do, but it was just strange,” you lower your book, combing the fingers of your free hand into his luscious brown hair. “The guy just said told you to call him back or you’d regret it.”
“Probably just a prank call, sweetheart. Nothing to worry about.”
“But they asked for you. They said your full name and they know you’re a detective. Isn’t that a bit too personal?”
“I’m a cop, babe. That information is public. Anyone can find that out if you know where to look.”
You nod and stay silent as you try to continue reading, but it’s unsettling.
“I’m just saying,” you start as David groans tiredly. “Why would someone call and threaten you? Not to mention you just recently closed the Donovan case.”
Rolling over onto his back, he looks up at you from his side of the bed.
“Babe, Donovan is a small-town meth head. He doesn’t have the balls to come after a cop.”
“It’s just a strong coincidence, David.”
Tumblr media
A lightbulb goes in his mind. Finally, a lead he could work on. How the hell didn’t he think about this before?
He shoots up onto his feet to get dressed and, just after he slides his boxer briefs on, his phone buzzes again with another incoming text.
Due to his close relationship with you, O’Malley didn’t allow him to take the lead on the case. If it had been anyone else, he wouldn’t have thought twice, but he knows the close relationship could impair David’s judgment. David’s already known for his temper and the last thing he needs is him risking the case because he didn’t follow procedure.
Instead, Chemelinski’s been assigned as the lead detective on the case. And, influenced by their close friendship, he’s ignored the direct and important order O’Malley had given him of keeping any new information from David.
The way he sees it, David’s a smart detective. If it hadn’t been for the close relationship, the case would’ve been his because he’s the only one that has solved and closed difficult disappearance cases like this.
“Evidence found at Penn Aire Motel, 46th and western. No vics”
“Didn’t hear this from me”
He wastes no time replying to his co-worker’s texts. His heart pounds with hope and adrenaline as his mind races with a thousand thoughts, wondering what kind of evidence they found. Even without a body or blood, assumptions can still be made based on the scene which is why he needs to be there.
Speeding in his car, his stomach churns contemplating what he might find once he’s there. He knows the procedure in case of dead victims. If you were dead, he would’ve already heard about it, so he’s hopeful it’s not the case.
As his car pulls up, O’Malley sighs already feeling the heavy headache setting in of having to deal with a distraught David.
“Who the hell told him?”
Chemelinski shrugs avoiding his accusing eyes, but mutters it wasn’t him as David quickly marches over to the captain, ducking under the yellow ‘do not cross’ tape with curious eyes scanning the scene to understand what’s going on.
“Loki, I told you-“
“I know, I’m off it. I know, I just wanna know what you found.”
David keeps a strong facade with hands up in surrender as O’Malley approaches him.
“You know I can’t share that information with you. You’re involved with the victim and it ca-“
“Yeah, I fucking know it can cloud my judgement! I know!” he shouts back.
O’Malley watches him take a deep breath to compose himself. He understands how stressful this is, especially for a detective.
“Captain, I-I’m losing my fucking mind. Please, j-just tell me something. I-I need something.”
He can’t ignore David’s pleading blue eyes or the crack in his voice. David’s a strong man who’s endured some of the most awful things life could throw at anyone. It takes a lot to scare him to this point.
He informs David that they’d tracked down the car from the location of your kidnapping. After identifying the vehicle with the help of local security surveillance footage, a dispatcher had ID’d it after receiving a call about an abandoned car in a rundown motel parking lot, just off the freeway.
No one saw you at the motel; the clerk working the desk that night said a man checked in alone, but a maid who had been getting off her shift mentioned she saw the man – who was staying in the room in question – putting something in the trunk of a different car before driving away in it alone.
The forensic investigation is still processing the scene, but the unit was able to find a small earring in the truck of the car, which was now in a small plastic bag labeled evidence in O’Malley’s hands.
O’Malley would’ve asked him if the earring was familiar, but the way David froze and stared down at the small accessory with swelling tears in his eyes is enough to confirm his belief.
He’d given you the beautiful jewel on your first anniversary. He remembers how happy you got when you opened the gift and saw the sparking, delicate pair in the small velvet box. His heart broke a little when you mentioned no one had ever given you jewelry before. You loved them so much that you wore them proudly every day to work.
He never thought he’d be the one having to identify a personal item of a victim.
“Y-yeah,” he sniffles blinking away his tears. “That’s hers.”
“We’re gonna find her, Loki. Loki!”
David can’t stand it anymore. The ring found at the site of the kidnapping and the newly discovered earring leads him to believe they weren’t left there on accident. He knows these are items you treasure more than anything and you would never take them off unless you were at home to avoid the risk of losing your precious accessories due to their sentimental value.
They’re breadcrumbs. They’re clues you’re leaving behind, calling out for him to save you. He needs to take matters into his hands.

Cross my heart, Hope you die || Heimdall X Reader
Tumblr media
Chapter 14 - Imprisoned
She was to die tomorrow. It had been three days since the Einherjar stole her from her bed and transported her to the cells beneath the Great Lodge. I thought that it wouldn't matter, that I could continue on with my duties and not care what happens in the morning. Yet, when I tried to focus, I would go back to her taking that lightning for me, to when we first fought and met, all my memories of her would attack my mind and no matter how hard I fought - the thought of her would stay and my emotions would cloud my head. I didn't understand any of this and I hated it, hated her. She was my enemy, absolutely nothing to me, why is she now haunting my every waking moment?
Surely, it wouldn't matter after tomorrow. She would walk up the stake, she would say her final words, and then she would burn. Her ashes would then spread into the wind that had been causing chaos since she was imprisoned.
In that moment the sound of her screams and the crackling of fire filled my ears. It overwhelmed my senses, and I lost my balance. Why was I like this? I don't care for her. Yes, she was tolerable but nothing particularly special. Was it because she sacrificed herself for me? That was the only answer that made any kind of sense. My life was never in danger (obviously), but the intent to protect me was clear.
~
It would just be one moment, a singular moment, and then I could go back to my normal life and never think of her again. I reminded myself of the dream where she burned Asgard to a crisp. She can't hurt my home if she's dead.
*~*~*
What have I done to deserve this?
I came here, to enemy territory, because I could not bear the thought of Atreus being here alone. I stayed true to myself no matter what was done. I stuck to my aim and did my best. Before this, I was the loyal daughter to a grieving mother who mistreated her. I did everything that was asked, even if there was protest. Was it my desire for vengeance? Was it my naivety? Was it because I felt emotion and wasn't purely logical, therefore failing as a Goddess? Maybe that was it, I needed to feel less.
If I was mortal I'd curse the Gods. I walk among them, so I will not curse all, just the ones who deserve it. I curse Odin. I curse Thor. I hope they die screaming; I hope they lose everything and are begging for mercy when they're time comes but it is not bestowed.
I curse Loki. My old friend is a traitorous little brat and I hope he dies in agonising pain.
~
The Einherjar barely speak, the only time they did was when they told me when I was to be executed. I would die tomorrow. I would be dragged from this dark cell, clasped in chains, and burned at the stake. There would be no escape. All I could do was ensure my head was high. I would not scream either, I will not give them that pleasure.
I wish I had a single moment where I could return to the dwarves home. I would see my mother and Kratos again. I could apologise to Lunda and Brok for not being able to hold onto my knives and arrows. I could strangle Loki; watch as the light in his eyes fades and relish in the sounds of him choking to death. I suppose I could remove the air from his body, but I'd prefer to use my hands.
~
I had been staring into darkness for hours now. I couldn't really do anything at all. I'm still weak from the lightning, and my healing factor was dormant all together due to the chain. I haven't eaten or drank a thing since I was placed in here, and while I could last longer than normal mortals, I couldn't last forever, and the effects of starvation and dehydration began yesterday (I think). At least I would die tomorrow.
I was also unable to sleep, whenever my eyes started to flutter and I felt sleep start to take me, the chain would constrict around my ankle, and it would force me awake. It was horrendous and all it did was make my hatred burn even brighter.
The sound of two arrows flying and the Einherjar dropping caught my attention. I stay as I am. If they're here to kill me, an arrow will be faster than the flames. "I told you to take the poison." The sound of Dagna wakes me up entirely, how the hel did she get here? Why is she here? Does she have a death wish? , "In these circumstances, my lady, I'm quite glad you didn't. I wouldn't be able to save your life otherwise."
I freeze in shock as she approached my cell door, took out a gem glistening with bifrost, and unlocked the cell door with it. "Why are you -? How?" I ask.
"Don't trouble yourself with that, we need to get to the wall and quickly. My Lord is on his watch and is waiting to send you home to Midgard."
"You're here on his orders?" I was absolutely bewildered. I had thought about being saved in the past. I thought maybe my mother would have found a way to get through to Asgard, would kill Odin, and rescue me. Sometimes, I would think Forseti would try, and then in one moment of desperation, when that mortal instinct to survive kicked in, I did think that maybe Heimdall and I had grown closer, and he would come. I then came to my senses and called it insanity, as this is what it is.
I slap myself to check I wasn't being delirious. Holy shit, this is actually happening. I might actually live.
Dagna came forward with the gem and as she approached, I flinched. She stepped back slightly. I'm actually a pathetic piece of shit. Oh no, my body is fragile, what a nightmare? It shouldn't mean I should act like this/
She gives me a look of sympathy, "I'm sorry."
"I don't want your pity."
"This isn't pity. You did not deserve this."
"At least you believe it. I don't know how long I've been in here for, but I came to think that there must be something."
"Don't be so stupid. This is war. Yet, you do not deserve an execution, you should die fighting for what you believe in." There was a long intense stare between us and I looked for if she was lying at all. It was pointless, she was one of the few here who did not lie. She took my hand as the chain loosened around my ankle and I stood for the first time in who knows long. "You've only been here for three days by the way."
"It felt so much longer."
"That is not surprising, when you are trapped in the dark."
"How am I this fragile then?"
"The chain wasn't inhibiting anything. It was draining your power and your strength. It's used for the strongest of prisoners."
"I'll take that as a compliment."
She throws a long beige cloak to put on and I do just that. "Odin is gone for the remainder of this day, we have an hour before Thor gets back. Keep your head low and do not speak a word, are we understood?" I drop my head to signal that I did understand. "Good, hopefully we make it out of this alive."
We begin our walk out of the cells, and I'm blinded by the beginning of the evening's light. The halls were crowded with people, but they were either drunk or in conversation. I had to hand it to Dagna and Heimdall, they chose the best time for a prison break.
I hated that I couldn't look up. In my peripherals I could see how dusk had truly begun, the sun's light was fading and the bright blue of day was turning to the darker one of night. I'm sure stars were starting to spread across the sky, I wish I could see them.
As we walk through the wind starts to curl around my body, welcoming my presence and renewed control of the element. "The wind has been erratic in your absence. One day we were fighting off tornadoes, and the next it was silent. My Lord said it was the same across all the realms." she whispers. It was mourning for me. I held my free hand out to it, and I felt its cool caress.
"How did the people of New Midgard fare?"
"What did I say about talking?" She scalds. There is a moment of silence, "They were left untouched. You cannot see it due to your hood but the people in Gladsheim have had to repair roofs, walls. Odin has had the most difficult time of anyone, the wind keeps trying to knock him over." I try not to laugh but can't help myself. Dagna looks cross, and then immediately starts bursting with laughter, "it is a very funny thought, but the aftermaths were far from it." I raise my eyebrow, telling her to continue, "He started getting really angry, sometimes civilians would get the brunt of it." I place my spare hand on her shoulder in comfort, she welcomes it.
~
We reach the platform and Dagna takes out the crystal to start the ascent. "What will happen when Odin realises?" I ask, we were up where no one could hear us, I don't need to keep my mouth shut.
"Something bad, probably. My Lord will probably make it out alive, but me? I'll probably take your place."
"Then why risk yourself?"
"My Lord asked me, how could I say no after all he's done for me? Besides, I'm quite fond of you, I did not want you to die." What if she came with me? She would be out of Odin's reach, she would live. I start to ask the question but we reach the top of the wall and my voice catches in my throat as my senses come to me full force.
The familiar heartbeat, the smell of steel, the steady breathing of Heimdall paralyses me. I turn around and am face to face with the orchestrator of my salvation. "I know, I saved your life, blah blah blah, we do not have all day." Heimdall grabs my hand and my wits return. "I'll run you through what is going to happen; you will stand at the edge of the wall and I will shoot two beams of bifrost around you which should propel you to Midgard. You'll probably be incredibly weak when you arrive so get somewhere safe fast." I don't get a chance to respond as he rushes me towards the edge, he raises his hands to begin. I quickly grab his wrist to stop him, "What are you doing?"
"What about Dagna?"
"What about her?"
I resist the desire to slap him, "She'll be executed for this."
"She knew the risk. Now, we are running short on time and I'd prefer this was successful." He forces himself out of my grip with ease.
I won't let Dagna die after all she's done. I put both my hands on his shoulders. "She has been nothing but loyal to you! Send her with me, she'll be safe and won't have to suffer Odin's cruelty!"
He looks at the girl and I notice her stare of hope, one she was trying to hide. When Heimdall hatched this insane plan she was prepared to be killed with no hesitation, for him, and saw it as incredibly likely she would die. Now, she actually has a chance to live and I'm sure that human instinct for survival has surely kicked in. "I've only done this once, ages ago, as practice. It was with one mortal." He pauses, "I will try, but her going with you risks your life. If you die than this was for nothing."
"If it was ages ago, then you've surely grown in strength." I let go of his shoulders and outstretch my hand to Dagna, she takes it.
Heimdall spreads his arms and closes his eyes. He flicks his wrists and two glowing beams of bifrost shine like shimmering diamonds in his hands. He turns his palms to face towards and the beams move out of his hands and surround us, leading to a bridge behind us. "Thank you, Heimdall." I say as a goodbye. He snaps his fingers and the beams release from his hands and fully circle us. The bifrost moves towards us and then we are flung back, away from Gladsheim, away from the enemy, away from Heimdall.
~
I wake up cold. "Dagna?" I sit up on what feels like snow. I pick up the fluffy substance I'm sat on and it was snow. I looked up and saw broken branches with seared ends. We made it. Holy shit, we actually made it. "Dagna?" I hear a groan behind me and see the girl try to sit. I rush over to her and help her up.
"We made it?" I smile, "Oh my Heimdall, we actually made it." she jumps and hugs me so tight that I feel suffocated.
"Alright, that's enough. My bones are still brittle after that chain." She lets go, "This place is also crawling with monsters so we need to contact my mother as fast as possible."
"How do we find Frigg - I mean your mother?"
"I'd use Freya in front of her. Frigg was her Aesir name. She's not too fond of it."
She lowers her head in shame, "Of course, forgive me, my lady."
"Quit it with the titles, I'm [N], your friend. Heimdall can lord over you all he wants but I am not your superior. You knew that the day of Loki's celebration, don't change it now."
"Of course. I only changed it because I respected you then."
"Respect doesn't mean you need to give me a title." She nods her head.
~
Dagna's bow and arrows had broken in the fall and I unfortunately had my weapons confiscated when I was imprisoned and I don't think Odin will be so kind as to give them back. We were lucky on the walk to Tyr's temple. We encountered few creatures and the wind forced them back to ensure that Dagna and I - still weak from realm travel - would make it safely.
"MOTHER!" I scream, "I AM ALIVE! PLEASE COME AND FIND ME!"
A few minutes pass, I hear the beating of wings, and then a sword appears at Dagna's throats, that sword specifically was Mardoll. "Who are you and what are you doing with my daughter?"
*~*~*
I dropped to the floor out of exhaustion the moment they were sent to Midgard. I knew it would weaken me exponentially, but I genuinely believe the mortal should live after all she's done for me.
A raven appears in front of me, Huginn, the All-father was back. He'd sensed people leaving his realm and came back immediately. Another thing I knew would happen. It was waiting for my consent to be taken, "take me." the bird doesn't hesitate in bringing me.
~
The moment I land in his office, the All-father traps me in his circular prison. "You know, son, out of all my children I never expected you to be a traitor. Tyr is, Thor listens to his wife too much, and Baldur was a nut job focused on revenge, you were always wanting to prove yourself. What makes one little witch so important to you?"
"I owed her my life." the All-father laughs, then he slams his spear onto the floor again and I feel the skin along my entire torso separate and I feel the searing pain of cuts re - opening. He proceeds to lift his hand and purple streaks pour out of my head which causes an agonising, throbbing sensation in my head, it felt as if my head was being torn open.
"To think I was willing to give you a bit of free will, make you loyal to Asgard and not me. I suppose even I can make mistakes." He sighs, what was he taking about? "I didn't think that anyone would actually make you feel indebted to them, I never thought someone would sacrifice themselves for you. I mean, no offence son, but you're a prick. That was the beauty of you." He sets his spear to one side, "From now on, every action you make will be at my command. If I tell you to hold your breath and kill yourself, you will have no choice but to do so." He spits out, his voice was cold and venomous. It made me feel cold, I was scared. He then grabs hold of the purple streaks in my head and tightens them, and I couldn't help but scream. It hurt so much.
The threads went back in my head and the pain immediately stopped. The prison beneath me was gone and my skin had stitched itself back together. I stayed on my knees before the All-father. If he wanted me to stand, I would. So far, being on my knees is what he wanted and therefore I will be on my knees. I live to serve him after all.

Ah the sweet sound of shippers going insane their ship might not be canon. It'd be nice if they took off their shipping goggles for once and actually enjoyed stuff
I have nothing against ships or romance. Power to the shippers. But I really am not a very romantic person when it comes to films or series. I feel like that's why I PERSONALLY like this season more. And while I consider the "cannon" ship a good ship, I'd have probably created other dynamics or ships had I been in charge.
That being said, the series was done filming before the WGA strikes. And I am pretty sure they'll stick to the ship from S1. Because it's Disney. The writers have talked about it being integral or whatever. And they've made licensed merch from it.
If Disney wasn't fascist, not only would they not have been complicit in genocide, but we'd get a throuple because S1 is more Sylki and S2 actually made me see soft Lokius as a possibility (unlike in S1 were I was like "WTF you all watching? He DGAF about Loki."). And I'd get to make "two cents" memes. And I made a horrendous dark!Lokius fic to counter all the saccharine Lokius that baffled me.
And if it were up to me, I'd have done things very differently writing-wise.

Loki causing mischief, but what is new??
i'm writing this out on my notes app so if the formatting is fucked that's why (edit: it's not, we're good)
i feel like an important detail about this story is that my family have been very very committed Christians for MANY generations. i'm the first in hundreds of years, if not the actual first, pagan in my family line.
anyway, onto the story.
i was making cardamom bread with my oma yesterday. i read on the recipe that cardamom bread is very nordic something or other, so that got me thinking. i'm a norse pagan who works with loki, so why not ask loki to bless it or something?
our specific cardamom bread recipe called for the bread to be braided, so as i was braiding the bread i asked loki to bless it, or just set some simple intentions having to do with loki. (as i'm editing this later, i remember i just asked loki to keep an eye on the bread) easy peasy.
we put the bread in the oven and let it bake. me and my oma had made this recipe before, plenty of times. we were also making french bread, so we worked on that and had to let it rise while the cardamom bread was in the oven.
some context for bread making: when you take it out of the oven, for most (if not all) kinds of bread, you should be able to tap the bottom and it'll sound hollow. it's not actually hollow, but a good loaf of homemade bread sounds nice and hollow.
my oma took the cardamom bread out of the oven and tapped the bottom. it didn't sound as nice as some, but better than plenty. she cut open the bread, and the thickest, most horrendous looking bread i'd ever seen stared back at me. we had followed the instructions like we always have, and yet the bread had come out worse than any loaf of bread you would ever see. i'll try to include a picture(i can't, since my oma threw away the bread before i woke up this morning), but if i can't, this is the message i sent to my mom when she asked how the evening was going:
Tumblr media
i'm sure loki was staring down at me, cackling at their little shot at mischief. i was in a house that has been owned by my family for almost a hundred years (we're on year 97-ish by my oma's guesses), my entire family has been fully committed Christians for hundreds of years, and here i am, a lone pagan, trying to bless bread for the nordic god of mischief. of course they took the chance to cause a little trouble.
the bread does taste very good though. just feels like you're chewing a squishy brick.
thanks for the squishy brick loki. love ya.

A/N: That Hyundai ad hit different. *chuckles*
Words: 3097 Warnings: kidnapping, hostage
New York smelled pretty bad, come to think of it. You had almost forgotten the hustle and bustle of this huge city that never slept and if there was one thing you had not been missing at all after spending a few months in Morocco for work, it was the constant traffic jams.
It was hot, unbearably so. You’d been a sweating mess ever since your cab driver had picked you up at the airport and the fact that the air conditioning in the cab was broken didn’t exactly help with that. Your thighs stuck to the leather of the backseat, your forehead glistening and your make-up… well, it used to be make-up.
The cab driver seemed nice, at least and since the long snake made entirely of cars had not moved for at least an hour now, he had offered to park on the side of the road and get you both a bottle of water. Ironically, you were only a few yards away from Stark Tower.
Perhaps you shouldn’t complain about the traffic jam. Half of the city was a mess after the atrocious battle you had been fortunate enough only to have witnessed on the news on the plane. You could only hope that your tiny studio flat was still intact and quite frankly, it was short of a miracle that a cab service had actually agreed on picking you up so shortly after an almost-war—not to mention that the plane had actually landed.
You sighed, brushing a strand of hair sticking to your cheek out of your face. You were unbelievably tired—even more so knowing that you had dodged a catastrophe that would go down in history all thanks to work. Your eyes fell shut and you leaned against the car window when suddenly, the driver’s door was all but yanked open and someone who certainly did not resemble your cab driver, started the car and clutched at the steering wheel as if his life depended on it.
Your lips parted. Shackles and a muzzle, along with a blue glowing cube landed on the passenger seat with a loud clatter, followed by an annoyed groan. It was him. The man who had attempted to take over the entire planet only moments ago, he was here in this car and he was currently kidnapping you with it.
A scream escaped your lips, a mixture of shock and fear spreading in your body and fuelling the rising amount of adrenaline. It was only then the God of Mischief glanced at the rear-view mirror and spotted you there panicking—but by then, he had already stirred the car back on the road, straight towards the traffic jam.
“You… you are… Let me out! Let me out at once!” You screeched, the heat around you—along with your miserable appearance—all but forgotten. Loki rolled his eyes. Great. Another mortal.
“I am not stopping this car,” was all he said. Your eyes widened in utter shock.
“Then don’t! Fuck!” Danger was radiating off of this man like heat from an active volcano; so if necessary, you would jump out of the moving car as well. Biting your lower lip and wondering if you should go through with this risky stunt at the speed he was going, the wheels squeaking over the asphalt with every abrupt turn he took, or if that would be a suicide mission. It was probably the latter, and when you reached for the handle of the back door, it took the God of Mischief only a mere second to lock it, trapping you inside.
“Let me out! Let me out!”
“You’ll kill yourself.” Loki spat. You did not miss the patronising tone in his voice—stupid. He believed you stupid.
“And if I stay in here with you I won’t?” You retorted hysterically. And it was justified, really—for when your gaze drifted back to the road ahead of you, you could see him racing straight towards a long line of cars waiting for the traffic to clear up.
“Watch out! The other cars, watch out! Oh my God…” You screamed, squeezing your eyes shut and covering your face with your arms but the imminent crash never came. When you opened your eyes again, Loki had all but moved through the other cars as if by magic. God, what was this, Harry Potter?
With your heart in your mouth, you brought your trembling hands to your thighs and pressed down on them in a desperate attempt to fight off the panic attack rising within you like the forthcoming eruption of a volcano.
But even when you reached the suburbs, ironically moved closer to your home, and the car finally slowed down to a reasonable speed, making you wonder how a god from another realm knew how to drive a car in the first place, your dread kept growing steadily. What would happen once Loki decided he had reached his destination? What would he do with you? Would you end up as another casualty? You’d know where he was, after all, and only God knew how he had managed to escape after the Avengers reported his capture—not to mention that he was in the possession of that mysterious blue cube you were certain bore even more chaos and destruction in the wrong hands.
“I take it this vehicle is supposed to be a means of transport in exchange for payment?” He suddenly said.
“What?” You gaped at him, swallowing. “Yes! I mean, yes, it’s a taxi. That’s… I was…”
“Where do you live?”
“Excuse me? What, are you going to drop me off and expect me to tip you?”
Loki smirked. He couldn’t quite put his finger on why but he did like your feistiness. “I need a place to hide.”
“What… no! No! I am not giving shelter to a criminal!” You snarled, swallowing your fear of him—and then you made the mistake of peeking at the navigation system the taxi driver had set up next to the steering wheel, with your address on bright display to show Loki exactly where he’d have to go.
The God of Mischief tilted his head. “You don’t have much choice in the matter, my dear.”
You took a deep shaky breath, digging your nails into the backseat. If your lower lip was trembling, you didn’t notice. “P-please… please just let me go. I promise I won’t tell anyone where you are or where you went. Please.”
“I am not going to kill you if that is what you are worried about.” He replied after a long pause. When you said nothing, too stunned and scared to come up with another snarky comment, silence spread in the car like wildfire.
Hugging your knees to your chest, you closed your eyes, hoping that this was a bad joke, a terrible nightmare and any moment now, you would wake up safely on the plane, yet to land in half-destroyed New York City—but the end of slumber never came. You were wide awake; even more so when, after what felt like hours, Loki finally stopped the car. Of course, you had not noticed him observing you repeatedly through the rear-view mirror, almost as if to check if you were still alive.
Your eyes met and then, finally, he unlocked the doors. Only now, you did not move an inch. You had no idea what to expect if you stepped out of this car.
Naturally, Loki disagreed with your cautious decision. He yanked the car door open when he saw you frozen in place, grabbing your upper arm so fast you didn’t even have a chance to react, and all of a sudden, seeing the entrance door of the apartment building you lived in did not at all look as appealing as it had at the airport anymore.
His grip around your arm was firm but when you whined in pain, the God of Mischief actually softened it—if only a little, barely noticeable.
“Unlock the door, my dear, will you?” He inquired, smiling sweetly at you. Right beneath the surface, you could hear that there would be dire consequences if you failed to comply.
Surely at this point, he could hear your rapid heartbeat. Shaking, you fumbled for the keys in your bag until they were jingling in your palms all the while Loki watched you like a hawk. You had dismissed calling the police on your phone in the car already—for now.
Fuck, you had been kidnapped. You were about to be held hostage in your own flat, or… or… was he just going to enter and kick you out? Had he been lying about not killing you? Would he fling a dagger at you any moment now like you had seen him do on TV?
Loki followed you when you approached the door and unlocked it clumsily. One floor up and to the left. For just a brief moment, you wondered what would happen if you started screaming bloody murder, alerting your neighbours but even when you opened your mouth to attempt it, not a single sound would escape your lips.
Even a little further out and farther away from the centre of New York City, rent prices were horrendous. Your salary was not bad but your apartment was no more than a small studio equipped with a humble kitchen, a separate bathroom with a tiny shower and lastly, your double bed in the centre of the room, posing as your sofa during the day.
Loki looked around unimpressed when he entered. “Well… it will do.”
“N-now what?” You choked out.
Loki raised his eyebrows, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Pretend I’m not even here.”
Right—because that was going to be so easy. He sighed and rolled his eyes when you only stared at him in horror.
“You don’t trust me, do you?”
“W-would you? You tried to subjugate our planet like ten minutes ago!”
“And for good reason too. This realm is lawless, your people slaughter each other day in and out and you feel threatened by me? I would have given you a new purpose.”
He had a point… but… “And what is that so-called purpose? Slavery?” Loki’s expression darkened, making you flinch back.
“S-sorry… I’ll… I’ll be i-in the bathroom taking a shower. Please just… I mean… whatever.” Would he stop you? Hesitating, you made your way to the bathroom, waiting for him to yank you back, press you against the wall and threaten you? Threaten you with what, exactly? Could you trust that he wouldn’t kill you? Loki felt like a ticking time bomb in your flat.
But a painful yank never came and when you locked the bathroom door behind you, you exhaled. Inhaled, exhaled, inhaled, exhaled, trying to process the fact you had a war criminal in your home.
Once you had gathered enough energy to do what you had come to the bathroom for and, an hour later, returned to the main room, Loki was sitting on your bed cross-legged, the Tesseract right before him, glowing away.
“I roamed your ‘kitchen’”, he said without glancing up to meet your eyes, “Do you have anything edible at all?”
“I was away for a whole month.” You argued. “I haven’t done any shopping yet because I was kidnapped by a space Viking.”
Loki smirked. Amused, he finally looked up. “Well, perhaps I should take you back to Asgard with me then. I could use a diligent little servant.”
Your reaction did not disappoint him. Chuckling to himself, he slid off the bed more elegantly than you could ever muster, the Tesseract disappearing into nothingness.
“What I am trying to say is that even gods need to eat and I am, quite frankly, starving.”
“That sounds like a you-problem.” You grumbled. And then, as if on cue, your stomach growled. Damn it.
“Fine. I’ll order some pizza.”
-
Loki had all but watched you like a hawk upon calling the local pizza place. Everything inside of you had screamed to let them know about your predicament, to beg them to call the police and send them to you instead of the pizza.
But as soon as the food was delivered, the mood in your apartment changed so rapidly it left you wondering if the only reason for Loki’s world domination attempt had been his hunger. The man devoured a family-sized pizza in but what felt like two minutes and, upon realising you were done with yours, leaving three pieces in the box, he devoured those as well. And never before had you seen someone eat pizza so gracefully.
It didn’t exactly make it feel like you had been kidnapped anymore. Perhaps… perhaps he hadn’t been lying about not wanting to kill you after all. Perhaps he wasn’t as evil as you… no, stop. He had literally just tried to take over the planet!
“What are you pondering on, little mortal?”
You shivered, the nickname affecting you in a way it truly shouldn’t, especially after he had lost his armour and magically exchanged it for more casual clothes—they still looked like they were from a different time period altogether but it wasn’t nearly as intimidating as before.
“W-why did you really do it?” You found yourself asking. It was a risk—but you were feeling braver now that your stomach was full even though part of you was surprised you had managed to eat at all.
“What?”
“Why did you really try to take over the planet? Did you… do you really want to enslave us all?”
“A lack of freedom does not equal slavery. It offers protection from failure and bad choices.” He said. You frowned.
“You truly believe that?”
“You fight wars over opinions, religions and race among your own species. Your choices are suffocating the whole of Midgard. I would have changed that.”
“You can’t be serious.”
You looked down, reaching for the sweet treat that had come with your pizza to stop your fingers from trembling.
“What is that?”
“Oh, uh… those are marshmallows. This pizza place always packs them with your order, don’t ask me why.”
“What’s that?” He repeated, frowning at the plastic wrapper.
“It’s candy…”
“Well, it doesn’t look very natural.”
Woah. How had this conversation just gone from “humans should not have freedom of choice” to “marshmallows look unhealthy”?
“They’re… I mean they’re not. They’re made of pure sugar and artificial flavouring.”
“Then why do you eat them?”
“Because… because they taste good?”
Loki gave you a taunting look. See? It said. This is what I meant.
But when you opened the package and handed it to him, he took one out nonetheless. It looked tiny between his long fingers—as tiny as you must have looked next to him.
You gulped when it disappeared between his lips. When you reached out to take the package back, he snatched it away from you.
“They are quite delicious, actually.” Your jaw dropped when he popped them all into his mouth at once, winking at you. Not quite sure how to react to this, you averted your gaze, taking a feigned interest in your digital alarm clock on the nightstand instead.
It was only 5 PM but you were positively ready to pass out. Where would you even sleep tonight? Where would he sleep? Would he even sleep?
“You are tired.” He suddenly stated as if on cue. He couldn’t read your mind… right? He did have that weird cube of his, after all.
“Well, yeah… I got kidnapped, experienced a live remake of ‘Fast and Furious’ and I have a criminal in my flat.”
“I only understood half of what you just said but I can ensure you that I will not harm you when you sleep.” There it was again, that frown that almost made it look like he was offended. As if the very circumstance of him hurting an innocent for no reason other than malice insulted him.
“So by all means, retire to bed.” He went on, gesturing to the bed and eventually, standing up to make space for you. The pizza boxes disappeared in but a green shimmer of light and you watched Loki, albeit still suspicious, heading over to the small kitchen table. To be quite frank, it was the last thing you remembered.
-
Loki was gone, no trace of him left. It was as if he had never even been here. It was already past noon—the exhaustion from your flight as well as the racy car drive and last but not least, your shining time as a hostage had worn you out to the point you didn’t even remember falling asleep anymore.
You only realised now that it was your doorbell that had woken you up. Jumping out of bed and moaning when your vision turned black for a moment, you headed over to your speaker and pressed the button. Perhaps it was Loki. Perhaps he had locked himself out but then again… would he not be able to magic himself back in? Why had he insisted on you unlocking the door yesterday in the first place? You shook your head.
“Hello?”
“Hi. This is Henry, I’ve got your delivery.” A boyish voice responded.
“W-what delivery? I didn’t order anything.”
“You did, ma’am, would you come open the door, please?”
You sighed. “Fine, I’ll be down in a second.”
You had fallen asleep in your clothes from last night, so one quick glance in the mirror was all you had before you headed back down and opened the main entrance door.
The delivery boy was holding both your suitcase and a jumbo-size package of marshmallows in his hands. Big marshmallows—the bonfire kind, to be precise.
“Who…” But you knew. You knew the moment you made the connection and knew the moment you looked straight into Henry’s eyes and noticed them glowing unnaturally blue when he handed the items to you.
It had not been a dream then. Loki had really been here. You had been eating pizza with the God of Mischief and now… the gesture was almost sweet. Was that his way of saying thank you? For what? You hadn’t exactly done much except for trembling in fear.
“He instructed me to tell you that you will meet again soon.” Henry announced and then, before you even had a chance to respond, he turned on his heel, hopped back into the delivery van parked in front of the building and left. You only realised now that the Hyundai taxi was gone too.

Late | James "Bucky" Barnes
Hi! I'm G, how are you? Hope you're doing ok! So, I have written a story about our loved sergeant.
pairings: James Bucky Barnes x Reader
warnings: angst
summary: The pretty man faked his death (sound a lot like Loki, right?), leaving his wife in pain and agony. He doesn't know, but he left something - or better, someone - with her. A son. Read to find out more!
Tumblr media
Resting my forehead on the cold surface of his grave, I hinted a small smile as a lonely tear ran down my cheek.
"Mommy?" a small and quiet voice called. I turned around, and smiled at the little one.
"Hey, baby.." I said softly, stretching one of my arms out towards him. He made slow but secure steps towards me, and wrapped his small arms around my neck, hugging me. I hugged him back.
"Why are you crying, mommy? Why are we here?" my son, Logan, asked softly, wiping my tears with his small hands.
"We're visiting someone special" I said, looking at my late husband's grave, smiling softly.
"Who? There is no one here"
"Remember when I told that I really wished that you could meet your father?", he nodded, smiling brightly at the thought of his dad.
"Daddy? Is he here?"
"Well... he's up there... he's in a better place. Where you can touch the sky with your hand" I said, pointing up to the blue sky. Logan followed my hand and then frowned, looking back at me.
"When is he coming back, mommy? I wanna meet dad!"
"You know, baby.. when someone goes up there, they're not able to come back. Leaving their loved ones behind. That is why you should live your life fully."
"But..." he pouted "Why did daddy leave us?"
"It was not his choice, my baby. Just know that he really loves you, ok?" I said with a smile, trying to be strong for my child. "Come on, now," I got up, taking his hand "let's go back home"
"No!" he let go of my hand, crossing his arms with a pout on his lips. "I wanna stay here. Please?"
I sighed, and looked around before nodding "Alright, then. Let's go get your toys" I said, and he let out a giggle, before running ahead with his hand in mine, towards the car.
Getting back, we sat down on the grass, next to Bucky's grave. We played and we laughed.
At some point, I found myself chasing Logan in a circle into the small open place that was surrounded by the tall trees, the sun spreading its rays into the branches, lighting up our happiness.
Slowing down, acting like I was tired of chasing him, I looked around and my expression changed in an instant. Something - someone, was behind a tree, staring right at me. Then, an almost inaudible sound.
"LOGAN!!" I ran to my son, throwing myself to the ground, making sure I wasn't hurting him. He started crying, hearing the loud roar.
"Mommy!" he cried.
"Shh... shh, it's okay baby. It's going to be okay. I'm here."
I heard steps coming towards us and I held Logan tightly in my arms, while he cried.
I let out a grunt as I felt a hand wrapping around my ankle, pulling me towards them, making me let go of my son.
"No! No, let me go!" I shouted. The man that was dragging me let go of my ankle. They placed their knee on my back.
Logan looked at the horrendous scene, scared. "Run! Run, baby!"
He hesitated, but still dragged his feet backwards. He then started running. When he was a little bit far away he turned around "DON'T STOP, LOGAN! RUN!!"
The last thing I saw, was the back of my son, running through the trees. Before everything went black.
Little did I know, someone else was looking at the scene unfold. They wanted to help, but were unable to do anything. They couldn't. Just not right now.
***
Waking up, I looked around. The place was unfamiliar; walls of an old grey, the cement coming down into pieces. In front of me, a metal table.
I tried to move, but then I noticed that my hands were tied up behind me. The same thing for my legs.
Letting out a pained moan.
"I see the princess awoke", an unfamiliar voice spoke.
"Where the hell am I?"
"Oh that's not the matter right now, sweetheart. Now. Tell me where the kid is"
I looked at him, anger boiling in my veins. "And you think I'm going to tell you?" I scoffed, "As if"
"You're going to tell me. And you know why? Because..." he continued talking, but I wasn't listening anymore. Instead, I was looking around the small room, trying to find a way out of there, or surveillance cameras. None. My gaze then shifted on the edge of the table, and I saw a small red light. "They're coming" I said.
The man in front of me, who was blabbing something about my upcoming death, stopped. He frowned "What?"
"They're coming, and they're not going to be nice with you." I said, counting with my fingers, my hand resting on my lap, under the table.
Five...
Eight...
Ten...
Twelve...
Fifteen...
Boom.
The wall behind me exploded, and I ducked my head down. I heard Sam's voice but it was muffled by the ringing sound in my ears.
Clint untied my hands and legs, and Wanda took me out of there. She made sure I was okay, but the only thing in my mind right then, was my son.
They took me back to Sam's house and the first thing I saw was him.
My late husband, staring at me with an expression that I could not decipher. My mouth hung open, not believe what I was seeing.
"Y/n, maybe it's better if you sit down"

I Story Masterlist I General Masterlist I
It was as if your anchestors wanted to deliver a warning, for Asgard had never faced a storm matching this fateful afternoon.
The thunder swallowed all of your screams and cries, every curse you spoke with each contraction as the baby made it’s way into this world. All this time, your precious husband would never leave your side, letting you squeeze his hand as much as you needed.
“Only a little bit more, my Lady!” the midwife shoutet from between your legs, her tone calm yet cheerful. “I can already see the head!”
“I’m right here. You’re doing wonderful, my petal.” Loki was softly petting your hair, pressing a wet kiss into your forehead. “You are incredibly strong, Y/N. And I love you so much!”
Remaining collected was using up all of his energy at that very moment, you knew that much. Yet not even the God of Lies could hide all the helplessness and excitement stirring in his head at that very moment.
Being with the Prince of Asgard was just like in a dream.
Once you get to know him, that troublesome arrogant lone wolf turned into a smart, caring - and especially charming - prince. And hel, Loki treated you like a Queen.
All this pain you were experiencing right now would ultimately lead to the greatest bliss imagineable - just like it was with Loki.
Oh, how dearly you had fought, suffered, yearned for him, only to be rewarded with heartbreak and frustration. In between his feverishly chase for the throne and his rivalry with Thor, there was just no room for a loving relationship to grow.
The crushing weight of thinking himself unworthy for affection had made him cold and bitter over the millenias, telling himself the comforting lie that he was above all, born for a glorious purpose.
For the God of Mischief, whose kinsmen had always made him feel out of place or under-appreciated, the process of trusting had always been one step forward, three steps back.
But through your compassion, and with a great deal of patience and understanding, you slowly but steadily melted the ice around the prince’s heart.
Because deep inside, you always knew that it was worth it.
And today would be the peak of your romance: Your child would forever remind the Odinson that he belonged somewhere - right here, with you.
“It’s a boy!”
“A heir?!” Loki exclaimed, smothering your face in kisses. “Well done!”
You smiled weakly at his excitement, in between choked sobs. All that your exhausted self was able to process was the fact that your child is born - and you already loved him beyond reason.
“Where is he?!” you whimpered, unable to realize how the air in the room had shifted - for when the midwife touched the infant, she began to scream in agony.
“What’s wrong?!” Loki’s eyes were narrowing at the midwife that almost dropped his newborn, detecting some sort of burn wound on her palm. Quickly, she had covered the boy in a towel, aware that if any harm came over that baby, she was to die at the God of Mischief’s hands.
A flash of lightning was brightening the whole room, which had only been flooded by dim candle light until now.
Another one of the midwife’s screeched in terror, almost stumbling as she frantically erscaped your bedchamber. The adrenaline from birth and worry about your child sharpened your senses, yet concentration was almost impossible.
Still, the words she was yelling as she ran down the hall send a shiver down your spine:
“It’s a monster.”
Your head was spinning as you rushed into an upright position, with two nurses pressing you onto the bed again. “Milady, you need to rest! It’s still too early!”
“What is wrong with my child?!?” you desperately screamed, kicking with your legs to free yourself from their hold. “Give it to me!”
Their expressions were too much to bear. Your head was spinning, seeing pity mixing up with disgust and anger in their eyes.
“Enough!” Loki finally broke his own silence, his mind having been occupied with all the horror scenarios one could think about.
Walking up to the midwife carrying the infant, he demanded seeing it. “Your highness, don’t-” yet the midwife’s beg was for naught.
Yes, everything will be alright. Loki will take care of it, like he always does. After all, he’s your savior, your hero, the love of your life...
Gently and insecure, your husband cradled the newborn in his arms - a sight to behold. And the baby’s strong cries assured you that it was at least alive.
However, as soon as he dared to unwrap the towel, revealing it’s face, Loki’s heartbeat completely stopped for a second. His trembling lip began to shake, mouth widely agape as he took in the child’s form.
For a brief moment, his mind was completely blank. All emotion dropped from his face before taking in a complete different demeanour.
“Wha-” you wouldn’t dare ending that sentence when your husband’s furious eyes met yours.
The air was so thick, you thought not even Thor’s hammer could break it. Clearly ritten on Loki’s usual unreadable face were so many emotions at once:
Aversion, fury, incredible sorrow...all directed towards you? The child?
Impossible.
Loki Odinson loved you more than anything in this world, this was the only thing you had always been sure he wasn’t lying about.
“From all the people I expected to betray me...” His voice was hoarse, as if the ache in his heart was wrapping around his throat. “Why did it have to be you?”
You could feel the horrendous aura, a wave of sadness and despair coming from your husband. Seeing him like this was like torture.
“What- what do you mean, darling-”
“Don’t fucking call me that, you harlot!” That was surely not the first time your lover had raised your voice against you - he could be a bit difficult at times, obviously.
But this time was different somehow. It sounded so...ultimate.
And the Loki you knew would never use such harsh words against you!
“Please, I beg of you...just let me see my baby!” Everything was just too much for you, almost to the point of passing out.
And the man did as you pleaded, almost shoving the child into your arms. “There, have your bastard! And make sure to never show your filthy faces to me ever again!”
With that, he stormed out of the room, leaving you with those strange nurses looking at you like you’ve just commited an unforgiveable crime.
There was no use in overthinking this. He’ll come back like he always did. You can work this out, whatever it is - even if you are gonna be mad for a very long time, making such a fuss and then disappearing instead of taking care of you, the mother of his child.
Out of a whim, you decided to finally observe the little being you’ve been waiting for all those months.
A loud gasp escaped your mouth as you realized just why everyone was so worked up about that little boy. Yet the sound you made was solely surprised - not a hint of fear or rejection laced your voice.
It was a beautiful baby boy, little fists balled to the air as if he was searching for the warmth of his parents - though his skin was in the shade of a dark blue. When you dared running your hand over the deep lines and ridges on his body, the stinging pain of frostbite immediately stung your fingertips. His eyes snapped open, looking at you with black irises through red scleras.
You knew the meaning of this, even though you didn’t understand how this was possible: This child was a biological Frost Giant. A small one, but nonetheless.
A curse? Was someone trying to play your family dirty? No. If that was the case, the child wouldn’t also have actual powers together with the appearance.
Just how long have those tears been running down your cheeks in thick streams already? You wouldn’t know.
Only one thing came as clear as daylight to you: You loved this baby, more than anything in this world. And no matter the hardships that came along with it - you would protect him, no matter what!
“He’s magnificent...” you sniffled, pecking some quick kisses onto his small body before the cold could hurt you. “I love you so, so much...!”
Not minding the judging looks of the nurses, let alone wondering about the consequences, resolve was starting to give you new strenght.
The boy got a grasp on your finger, and instead of your skin freezing off as expected, your magic allowed him to the boy to finally disguise itself as one of you. How was this even possible? Well, this is probably the first time something like this ever happened, so no one could prepare you for what to expect with this child.
They all say that birth was an impactful event - but nothing could’ve prepared you for everything that you had to endure on this day.
Yet nothing could’ve stopped you from believing that this child was the greatest blessing that ever came over you.
Now you only had to convince your husband of that very fact...
“Y/N Y/L/N!” the guard wouldn’t even bother adressing you with your full title as his harsh voice woke you up. When had you drifted away into slumber anyway? You were probably way more worn out than you wanted to admit...
Your eyes immediately snapped open, heart skipping a beat until you saw that your son was still sleeping soundly right next to you. Stroking his cheek as he smiled up to you, it almost made you forget about that burdensome situation.
“Hey!” Protectingly, you were holding onto your child for dear life as the guard approached both of you. “I have an important message to deliver!”
You scowled, almost like an animal mother protecting their offsprings with baring teeth, even though you knew in that state you would be completely and utterly helpless. “Why now? What could be more important than the well-being of my child?”
The answer let your blood run cold:
“I am here to announce that Lady Y/N Y/L/N has to face a trial in front of the Allfather. The following crimes she is being accused of: Infidelity, collaboration with the enemy and trying to sneak one of them into our glorious kingdom.”

Mischief and Magic
TITLE: Mischief and Magic CHAPTER NO./ONE SHOT: 11/? AUTHOR: nekoamamori ORIGINAL IMAGINE: Imagine you are a descendant from a kitsune, a fox demon. You have a mischievous streak a mile long. One day, after Thor gets tired of your antics, he throws you at Loki demanding that you annoy Loki for awhile. RATING: T (for now) NOTES/WARNINGS: Also on AO3 here
Loki spent the rest of the school day at Morgan’s side.  He wouldn’t risk another incident with her health.  Not after the horrendous gym class.  He spent his time watching over her, wondering just how badly she’d been injured in the attack that day and just how much of her life his actions had caused her.  He hated that she’d been injured, hated that she still bore the scars of the battle to this day.
Luckily, she had no other incidents that day, besides being fatigued from the gym class.  She let Loki walk her back to the tower and he helped her sneak up to her room to take a nap, slipping past her father without them being seen.  She clearly didn’t want to tell him about the incident in gym class.  Loki wasn’t about to break her confidence over one incident.  If it happened again… then he would risk Tony’s wrath to bring it up.
But only if it happened again
*
The next day was Saturday, so Morgan didn't have school and Loki didn’t have to escort her or guard her. However, that didn’t mean that he didn’t want to see her.  The Starklet was interesting and sparked his curiosity.  She had magic.  He knew she did, but he hadn’t seen any sign of it since the battle of New York.
So Loki waited for her to come to breakfast that morning to spend an entertaining morning with the Starklet. Except the troublesome little Starklet didn't come to breakfast. That worried Loki, especially when it got too late and even more especially after her medical issue the day before, so he went back upstairs to check on her.  The path between his suite and hers, and the common room and her suite was well traveled by the god by then.  The entire team knew it and Tony pretended he didn’t.
When Loki got to her room, he knocked politely on the door and found that there was no Morgan in her room either.  Definitely a troublesome little Starklet. "Lady Morgan?" Loki called out. "Where have you gone?" He asked the question to himself, not really expecting an answer.  Though things didn’t always happen as expected in the Avengers’ Tower. In fact, things usually didn’t happen as one would expect.
"She is down in her lab, sir,” Jarvis told Loki, announcing it from a speaker above Loki’s head.  Jarvis answering random questions around the tower, even when not directed to him, was definitely in the norm in the tower.
Loki looked at the ceiling, still getting used to the AI.  His instinct was to treat it like a servant and be polite to it.  It controlled a lot of the tower, he’d found out. “How long has she been there?"
"A couple of hours,” Jarvis replied, sounding displeased.  Loki bet that Morgan had gone down to work without eating breakfast.  She was too alike to her father in some ways.
Loki nodded, though wasn’t still entirely sure if Jarvis could see him. "Could you tell her I'm coming?"
“Yes, sir,”
Loki quickly made his way to the floor where Morgan’s lab was.  He knocked on the door before he walked inside.  Morgan had already given him permission to enter her lab whenever.  He’d proven his trust. “Lady Morgan?" He asked when he saw her.
Morgan glanced up from her project and gave him a bright smile which warmed his heart.  It was rare for people to be glad to see him and the little Starklet always was. “Hey Loki,”
"Hello, Lady Morgan," he replied warmly, returning her smile with a soft one of his won. "It's time for breakfast.”  He figured she had forgotten.
His theory was proven true when her bright smile turned to a pout. “But I’m working,” she whined, resembling her father far too much.
Loki chuckled, finding her absolutely adorable. "You'll be able to focus better when you're not hungry,” he reasoned far too reasonably.
Morgan knew that a Loki would not be easily dissuaded.  So she got up from her lab table. “You’re stubborn,” she grumbled at him, but good naturedly.
Loki chuckled and offered his arm to her to escort her to breakfast. "Let's get you fed, Starklet,”
Morgan took his arm and let him drag her from the lab.  He didn’t really have to drag her.  She went easily enough once she remembered that food existed and her friend wanted her to eat.  Loki escorted her to breakfast and seated her at her usual chair.  He was a gentleman after all.  She gave him another brilliant smile in thanks as she took her seat.  Loki took his own seat across from her and had a moment to notice her arc reactor glowing through her t-shirt before Barton set a plate of pancakes in front of each of them.
Loki looked curiously at the food in front of him. Pancakes were new. He looked at them dubiously, unsure about the fluffy food.
Morgan grinned at his adorable reaction and started doctoring her pancakes with butter and syrup.  Loki recognized syrup.  He loved sweets and had gotten a rundown on as many sweet Midgardian foods as he could "Barton makes the best pancakes,” Morgan informed him.  “They’re sweet,” she reassured Loki as she helped him doctor his pancakes.  He took a careful bite and purred loudly when he did.  He felt the boost to his magic almost immediately.  “Like them?”
"They're amazing!"
Morgan grinned "I think so too,”
Loki beamed and devoured the sweet pancakes. He loved that Morgan shared his love for sweets and she seemed to perk up with the sugar too.  That was no surprise since she had magic, even if there was no sign of it.
The team seemed more amiable to Loki since his friendship with Morgan had solidified.  He didn’t understand it, since he didn’t trust them as far as he could throw them, but he understood that it was Morgan’s influence that had swayed them.  Thankfully, after Barton finished cooking and left, the pair were alone in the dining room.
Loki looked at Morgan as he ate, glad he no longer had to deal with the team. "Going back to your lab after breakfast?"
"Unless something more interesting comes up,” she replied. She got distracted a moment later and frowned over at her alarm when it went off. She tried to silence it, but Jarvis was insistent.
Loki jumped at the alarm with a soft hiss.  He really was an overgrown cat. "What's that for?"
Morgan sighed and blushed. "To remind Miss Stark to take her medications,” Jarvis said grumpily
"Medicine? For what?" Loki fretted, already looking over Morgan with his magic.  His friend needed medication??
Morgan sighed again and grumbled about Jarvis tattling on her. "Weak heart and lungs and asthma,” she replied sheepishly as she dug her pill container out of her pocket to down her meds.  She didn’t want to draw attention to the fact that her medical conditions were because of his attack on New York.
Loki nodded. "There's no shame in it,”
She raised an eyebrow “You don't think me a weak little Midgardian?" He’d complained about the mortals often enough.
"Of course not," Loki replied, shaking his head.  Morgan got an exception.  She was Morgan.
"Happy now?" she grumped at Jarvis when the pills were gone.
“Extremely, Miss Stark,” Jarvis replied dryly.
"Jarvis is like an overbearing parent,” Morgan grumped to Loki, looking like a grumpy kitten
"A second Stark?" Loki teased her fondly.  They were friends.  Teasing was allowed.  It wasn’t mean spirited, just friendly.
"Yes, but one who's with me everywhere. Permanent babysitter,”
Loki chuckled. "You get into nearly as much trouble as I do when you're not even trying," he reasoned.  It was perfectly logical for her to have a permanent babysitter.
She stuck her tongue out at him and laughed "Do not"
"Not from what I've observed," Loki replied, laughing along with her..
Morgan smirked at him “See if I take you with me on my next adventure,” she threatened. Loki chuckled and shrugged, not threatened in the lead.  Morgan’s smirk only got smirkier, resembling Loki’s own mischievous looks. "And here I was going to introduce you to ice cream,”
Loki raised an eyebrow. "Ice what??"
"A dessert. A very sweet one. You do like sweets, right?" Morgan teased innocently.  Loki absolutely adored sweets, which they both knew perfectly well.
Loki nodded. "I love sweets."
"Then you'll like ice cream,” she informed him easily. She got up from the table, which Loki had magically cleared of all the dirty dishes. "Let's go,”
Morgan ignored that Loki was supposed to have a babysitter to leave the tower. She could babysit a Loki.  Totally.
Loki went with her without complaint. With sweets and his mischievous friend involved, he definitely wouldn't talk about his lack of a babysitter.
What could possibly go wrong?

thank u, next (ft. loki)
Warnings: angst, swearing, jealousy, mentions of sex

Summary: A new team member in the group shakes things up for the super soldier.
Or: In which Steve casts you aside for a Carter only to regret his decision when he sees you with the God of Mischief.
Tumblr media
"Yeet."
Swiveling your chair, you saw the empty pint of ice cream hit garbage can, bouncing off the rim and dropping on the floor with a light thump. You looked at Tony, shaking your head. "You've been hanging out with Peter too much."
"Why, thank you." Tony replied, smirking at you. "So, tell me, you sexy vixen, how do you feel with Thor bringing Loki? You were quiet during the whole argument that almost ended with Barton ripping out his eye."
You shrugged, the heels Tony had bought earlier drawing your attention to your feet. "I'm fine. I don't really care, I mean, I wasn't with you guys when New York happened so I don't really think I get to have an opinion about whether the mind-controlled God of Lies gets a spot in the team."
"You realize your on the team, right? I'm pretty sure your opinion matters especially with the mass murderer joining." Tony replied, accidentally hitting himself with the candy cane in his hands. "I really thought you were going to side with Cap on this one. You always do."
It wasn't a secret that Steve Rogers wasn't completely on board with the plan. That was pushing it; in other words: Steve Rogers despised the plan. If he could kill it, he would've. When Thor had proposed the plan to bring Loki on the team (a punishment from Odin himself)—trying to convince everyone he was "good" now—less than a handful had let him continue speaking. The rest wanted to riot. You had just sat there, a smirk on your face as you watched the six of them fight with each other while Fury shook his head, looking like a disappointed father.
When everyone had came to an agreement on Loki's trial period, there had been pages of rules on what he was restricted on doing including magic and stabbing. Of course, it was very specific so even the God of Mischief couldn't find a loophole. Maybe he could if he tried, which he probably will.
Clicking your tongue, you shrugged, ignoring the little pang in your chest. "Not on this. I'm smart enough to see that there's more reward than risk to have Loki on the team. For example: he's not bad to look at."
Tony choked on his candy cane, coughing up a large piece. With wide eyes, he studied you in silence, trying to figure out if you had been joking. "Are you serious? We should bring you to Helen so you can get your head checked. There's a chance you might have a concussion from the last mission."
"You have eyes, you can see how regal he is despite not genuinely being born royal. And those cheekbones..." you trailed off, biting your lip at Loki's handsome features. Tony raised an eyebrow, slowly shaking his head. "Not that his perfect bone structure justifies all the people he's killed. I'm just very observant being an avenger and all."
"Uh-huh, yeah, yeah, yeah, sure." Tony mumbled, leaning back on his chair, his eyes narrowing after your confession. "Ms. Natalia Romanoff didn't get the chance to tell me what happened between you and old Capsicle."
Rolling your eyes, you spun around in your chair, facing away from the nosy billionaire. "There's not that much to tell. We talked, we liked each other, then the sun came up and reality set in as the form of Sharon Carter. It didn't take long for him to ditch me to go for Peggy's niece. Anyways, been there, done that. People change."
"You're not the same girl I met." Tony stated. "On that note, Rogers' old brain is still defrosting and he's getting older so I don't think he knows how stupid he is...yet."
"And I'm not going to wait for him to find out." you muttered, a loud sound coming from the big yard. Looking through the garage window, you saw the blinding light before two figures in different colored capes appeared, the blinding light ruining the fresh-cut grass. Beaming at Tony, you got up. "Want to plan a party with me?"
"You say that like I'd have the ability to say no. Tonight?" Tony replied, grinning at thought of loud electronic dance music and booze.
Getting up, the stilettos clicked on the floor, your perfect pedicure peeking through the hole. Smiling, you walked towards the door. "Well, we are in the presence of two Gods. I think it's only fair we celebrate like it."
"I'm putting Party in the USA on the track-list!"
Rushing to the lawn where the rest of the team gathered, your mood was lightened by the sight of the golden haired retriever in disguised as a jacked God. Ignoring the others, you threw yourself at Thor, the God of Thunder catching you, arms tightening around your body. You let out a breathless laugh, momentarily forgetting your idiotic plan to avoid Steve. "Thor!"
Thor guffawed, lifting you off the ground, shouting your name in glee before letting you breathe again. "My favorite avenger! Miss me?"
"Duh." you responded, glancing at Loki, who had magically changed into an all-black suit, his shoulder length raven-colored hair slicked back. His eyes narrowed slightly at the team who had defeated him. He looked even better in person. "So, that's Loki."
Natasha spoke up before either Asgardian could. She stepped closer, observing him with you. "Not sure. He isn't as smug as before—"
"And he's missing those horrendous reindeer horns he was wearing." Clint chimed in, crossing his arms. His hate for Loki—which had increased when he found out the man who once controlled him was coming to the team—was almost as deep as Steve's. "He looks like a witch in that black suit."
Thor snickered, releasing Loki from the handcuffs that held him. "As you all know, my adopted brother's punishment from Father is to help Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Loki understands all the rules, and he will so follow them accordingly. Isn't that right, brother?"
Loki rolled his eyes, sighing before reluctantly nodding. "Yes, I will."
"Let me make this clear, Loki." Steve stepped up, Sharon right behind him, face composed. You had to fight the urge to roll your eyes at the couple. "If you break one rule, no matter how small, you will be sent back to Asgard and face Odin's alternate punishment. Just so you're clear, we won't hesitate to send you back."
The God of Mischief smirked, feeling smug knowing he could push the super soldier's buttons. "Of course, Captain. I wouldn't dream of breaking the rules enforced."
Everyone could sense the sarcasm and mockery in his voice, all of them tensing. Thor sighed, clapping his brother on the back, the force making Loki take a steps forward. "Come on, brother. I'll show you your quarters before you get punched by Lady Natasha."
Without waiting for Loki to answer, Thor practically pulled Loki's arm off, pulling him towards the building, crossing the ruined lawn that Tony would bitch about later. Everyone followed them, staying a few feet back, wary of the new team member. You noticed Steve stealing glances at you, quickly moving away from Sharon's side and made his way to you.
Without being too obvious, you squeezed your way between Bruce and Natasha, snaking your arms between there's, hoping it would give Steve the impression not to talk to you. Ever. Natasha threw you a sympathetic smile, squeezing your wrist while Bruce raised an eyebrow, clearly confused.
Thor continued talking about the new compound, leading his brother to the entrance while pointing out installments that would've seemed impressive to a simple "midgardian."
He might've unconsciously murdered people but he kinda thicc.
At that exact moment, Loki turned around, his piercing blue eyes meeting yours. His smirk grew, glancing between you and Steve before turning back. It had been so quick that you weren't sure it even happened. The group scattered as soon as they stepped a foot inside; Bruce heading to the lab, Steve following him while Sharon split and headed up to Medbay, Natasha hitting the gym with Clint, leaving you alone with Thor and Loki.
Unfortunately, Thor's room had been across yours, the empty room next to yours becoming Loki's so both a spy and a god could keep an eye on the trickster. Both Tony and Steve had fought on that, Steve concerned about your safety while Tony argued back, telling him you could keep yourself safe. If not, Thor was there. That had angered you; Steve didn't think you were capable of fighting off Loki if it came to it, and that made you roll your eyes at him, exiting the room.
"...and this will be your quarters. Decorate it any way you want, just no magic." Thor continued, reaching the area of your rooms. It was a big arc, the area looking like a semi-circle with three doors spaced evenly out. "My chambers is across Lady Y/N's, so we won't have any problems. She's a smart one, brother. Anything else to add, Sunshine?"
You ignored the nickname, eyes narrowing at the black-suited man. "There's a party tonight 'celebrating' the addition to the team. It starts at 8 so don't be late or else Tony will have your head. Also, if you wake me up before seven in the morning, watch your back 'cause I hold grudges."
Giving Thor a smile, you head to your room, closing the door with a sigh. On the other side, you heard Loki chuckle once. "I like her."
"She's serious. She almost ripped my heart out the one time I accidentally woke her from her slumber." Thor added, the clap on his brother's back loud. "Get ready for the party, Loki."
Loki had been forced in his room by his brother, the door closing after him. He listened carefully, hearing you plop on your bed. He bit back a smirk, a plan unfolding in his brain. With a swift gesture of a finger, the room had been decorated, the hideous white theme changing into an exact copy of Loki's bedroom in Asgard.
The day went by fast as you wasted it away planning the party with Tony, who had, in no way, helped. You had ran off to your room once the people Tony had hired came, setting up everything in the main room. As you walked to the three-bedroom wing, you saw Steve rocking back and forth in front of your door, his hands in his pocket while Thor gushed about his flying hammer.
Relief washed over his face as soon as he spotted you, and you almost turned around, wishing you had gone to Natasha's room to get ready.
Steve called out your name, abruptly ending his conversation with Thor. As you walked closer, you could see the concern etched on his face. "Hey, are you okay?"
Thor watched your reaction, your face fighting the urge to make a face at America's sweetheart. Maneuvering your body, you slid between the two men to get to your room. "I'm fun-fucking-tastic. Thor, remind Loki about the party. I didn't spend the whole day with Tony for Loki to miss his own party."
"I'll be there, darling." Loki chimed in, his head poking out of his bedroom. Everyone turned to look at him, seeing the not-so-subtle wink he gave you.
Ignoring Steve's clenched fists, you moved past them, entering your room. Before closing the door, you said, "Tony requests the presence of all three of you, by the way. There's no way you're getting out of this. See you at 8!"
With a sighed of relief, you closed the door in Steve's face, the loud slam cutting off whatever he was about to interject. He could talk to Sharon about whatever shit he was dealing with, the girl he chose. You were no longer someone he could vent to after the shit he pulled, leading you on before leaving for Sharon Carter. It was then that you came to the decision to not love so easily.
Getting ready for the party took longer than you thought it would, the hot shower burning your skin to the point your skin started to redden. Your mind wandered to Loki, curios about the wink. Maybe it was his way of messing with people, a loophole that had not been included in the agreement. Realizing how inappropriate it was to think about the God while showering, you quickly turned the water off and stepped out.
Knowing Natasha, she's be disappointed if you didn't dress up like your inner slut, the one that got fucked up in Tokyo, and the petty hoe who would do everything to make Steve Rogers regret his decision. Well, you weren't going to let your sestra down.
The sultry, tight red dress was almost too short to be considered decent. With it's low cropped top, your tits we're begging for attention, the bra non-existent. Your new motto: protect the city, free the titties. The matching red stilettos would've been a pain if you hadn't started wearing them so early in your life. You let your hair down, running hand through it before slapping some natural makeup on your face, trying not to look desperate for attention.
It was around 8:15 when you finally finished, already exhausted by the amount of work you had to put on for others, but mostly for yourself. Either Tony or Natasha would come barreling through your door if you were going to be any later. Rushing, you took a quick look in the mirror before opening your door, nearly bumping into the God of Mischief.
He was dressed in a black buttoned-downed dress shirt with matching dress pants. Like before, his hair was slicked back, the shoulder length, raven hair looking silky and sexy. You both eye each other, eyes appreciating the sight in front of them. It wasn't until you finally met his eyes that he cleared his throat, a smug smile covering half his face.
"Would you mind accompanying me to the party, Lady Y/N? My brother is an idiot and cannot give a proper tour with his minuscule organ that he calls a brain. As of that, I do not know where this celebration is held." Loki explained, holding out his arm, waiting for you to take it. He raised an eyebrow while you hesitated. "If not, I could just follow you and everyone would assume I'm planning to have your head."
"Jesus Christ, you and Thor are so fucking dramatic." you grumbled, taking Loki's arm, your arm snaking around his. "Must run in the family, huh?"
"I'm adopted."
"I don't care."
Loki darkly chuckled, feeling your warm body against his, letting himself grow closer, enough that he could feel more of you but not enough that you would've noticed. "I sincerely hope you don't take this the wrong way, but you look rather ravishing, darling."
"Have you ever thought of cutting your hair?" you replied, loving the way Loki's smug expression wavered—probably expecting a compliment—before composing himself. "You'd look less like Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean."
"I don't understand." Loki said, leading you towards the elevator. For someone who claimed they didn't know where they were headed, he had the sense of knowing where everything was.
You waved the pop culture reference away, pushing the elevator button. "You wouldn't. Is Thor already at the party?"
"I'm quite positive."
The rest of the walk to the main room was quiet, neither of you making small talk as you led him. More like, he led you. You were suspicious he had stayed back and faked not knowing the compound in order to mess with you. But you waved that thought away, focus on getting distracting yourself from Steve.
You could hear the party before seeing it, the big room had been half full, not too much, not too little, yet you had been surprised considering how extra Tony could be. Letting go of Loki's arm, you walked to the bar where Natasha was sipping a glass of whiskey, ignoring the rest of the party. She pulled out a bottle of gin as you arrived, raising an eyebrow at your accompanied date.
"Before you say anything, he didn't know where the party was so he asked me to guide him. Nicely if I might add." you said, pushing back the bottle, settling on a bottle of water instead.
Natasha smirked, watching Loki interact with his brother, a frown deepening on his face. "He knows where everything is, Thor gave him the whole tour while you were with Tony. Can't believe you took the bait."
"Ugh." you grumbled, wishing you could forget about tomorrow and drown your problems in alcohol but the last hangover nearly killed you.
"Stevie doesn't look to happy with you showing up with Loki." Natasha noticed, the smirk widening as she watched Steve's glare grew more lethal as Loki's grin got bigger. "This is so much better than America's Next Top Models fails. Do you wanna bet that one of them will punch the other before the party is over?"
"Daddy, chill." you mimicked, turning to see how enraged old Capsicle is. But with the blonde besides him, looking up him in both wonder and worry, he had no right to be angry at Loki for attending a party that had been thrown for him, despite the many people he murdered—while being controlled. "He can't seriously still be sour about Loki joining."
The redhead giggled, a little drunk from the amount of alcohol she already consumed. "I don't think that's what he's so broody about, not anymore at least. He was smiling until he saw you on Loki's arm."
"Ain't my fault he chose Peggy's niece over me, meaning he doesn't get to be jealous whether Loki is my date or a walker for these killer stilettos." you muttered, secretly loving and hating the jealousy that oozed out of Steve Rogers. Even his blonde date had noticed. "Look at these heels, aren't they gorgeous?"
"Almost as gorgeous as you." Natasha replied, winking just before she drowned the rest of her drink. She winced a little at the taste.
"How many of those have you had?" you wondered, eyeing the spy. After the worst hangover of both your lives, Natasha had made you swear to never let her get that drunk again. Although with the rate she was going, you feared you had been too late.
She shrugged, taking your bottle of water. "Four. Oh, look, here comes Steve."
Before you could ditch, Steve leaned against the counter, his blue buttoned down shirt matching his blue eyes. Natasha not-so-subtly walked to the other side of the bar, motioning for Bruce to keep her company, although knowing her, she'd listen to every word.
"Rogers," you greeted coldly, looking everywhere but him. He tensed at your cold greeting, the frown looking permanently pressed on his face. "Enjoying the party?"
"Yeah."
Lie.
"Good."
You sat there for a good two minutes before he cleared his throat, shifting his weight nervously from one foot onto the other. Steve coughed in his fist. "So...living near Loki isn't too much trouble, is it? He causing any trouble, yet?"
"Sweet as an angel." you replied sarcastically, wishing you were anywhere but here. Loki caught your eye, raising a hand to wave and the group that had been brave enough to be near him, gasped in shock, the noises audible across the room. Their reactions made you chuckle.
Steve cleared his throat, this time louder. "Would you like to dance?"
"Ask your girlfriend." you fired back, satisfied by the hurt on his face. After the stunt he pulled, leading you on only to stomp of your heart, you wanted to be selfish and make him suffer just a little bit. Thankful, Loki came to your rescue.
Ignoring Steve, he held out his arm once again, a smile playing on his lips as he took in the tense situation between you and Steve. But before he could utter a single word, Sharon decided it was the perfect time to come looking for Steve. She assessed the situation, awkwardly noting Loki's presence.
"Er, hello." Sharon said, standing in false bravery. She wouldn't admit it, but she was afraid of the God of Mischief.
Loki gave her a curt nod and held out a hand to you instead, easily fitting yours in his. He murmured your name, softly kissing your knuckles. "Would you like to dance? This is the first song that came on that has not made me want to tear my ears off."
"Why, yes, I would." you agreed with a grin, moving your body close to Loki as you reached the unofficial dance floor, everyone's eyes on the both of you, with shock and slight fear. You would've cackled at their reactions—and it looked like Loki wanted to, too—if you hadn't been raised with manners. "Thank you."
Loki raised an eyebrow, surprised by the words. "For what, if I may ask?"
"Saving me back there. I don't need that kind of drama in my life. Not anymore." you explained, drinking in the warmth of his arm wrapping around your waist as you both slowly swayed to the slow song.
The raven-haired God smiled—not the smug smirk he wore, but a genuine one that Thor hadn't seen his brother wear for a few years now. "My pleasure. A lady like you deserves someone who'll give her his undivided attention. Any suitor would be lucky to have a tenth of your attention."
A coping mechanism: you rolled your eyes but you couldn't help the small smile that forced itself on you lips. You bit it back, hoping no one had noticed.
Loki had. And he meant every word he said.
By the end of the night, you found yourself naked, against the wall and legs wrapped around Loki's waist. Lips crashed against one another, soft kisses trailing down necks, leaving little love marks that would surely be dark. But at the moment, you didn't care. Not when Loki whispered sweet nothings in your ear as he took you from behind, above, underneath, and even on the side. You had both been teasing each other at the party and now you had given in, no matter the consequences.
Annoyed Steve had missed the date he had asked you on, you walked up to his room, heels clicking. You had waited for him for over two hours, texted him and getting no replies, leaving the restaurant with the humiliation of being stood up.
But as you neared his door, you heard crying. But it wasn't Steve. Peeking inside, you saw Sharon. Pretty, talented Sharon. Her eyes were red, tears steaming down her cheeks while Steve hugged her shoulders, resting his chin on her head as he comforted her. Jealousy and hurt knocked the breath out of you.
You waited.
And waited.
And it happened. Leaning in slowly, he kissed her. Softly, like he had kissed you. And she kissed him back, finding comfort in the kiss.
Heart breaking in two, you left, leaving the door open. The couple broke their kiss long enough to see you walk away through the slit of the door. Steve hung just head, feeling terrible. But Sharon had helped him as he had. This time, they hadn't stopped at kissing, forgetting the girl who had her heart broken by the man who claimed he would never hurt her.
Steve knew it was over between you two, but he could focus his attention on caring as much as he wanted to when Sharon kept kissing him. He did try to apologize only to learn you had went to visit Thor in Asgard, leaving him to feel sorry for himself and his decisions. Yet, he still found temporary comfort in Sharon's arms.
You woke to the warmth of Loki's arms around you. Opening your eyes, you found yourself tangled limbs with the God of Lies, your hair a mess, a hand over his chest and a leg over his waist. Your cheek rested on the crook of his neck, fitting perfectly as if he was made for you.
"Good morning." Loki whispered, stroking your hair with one hand, the other softly massaging your thigh. "Sleep well?"
Nuzzling into his neck, you snorted at the irony. "Don't know, considering we didn't do much sleeping."
Loki chuckled, pressing a soft kiss on your head. "Touché. It would only be fair of me to apologize for the love marks I left on your soft skin last night. Forgive me but I could not help myself."
Gasping, you jumped up, looking at the vanity mirror across your bed to find your collarbone, neck, and the top of your breast covered in Loki's hickeys. He looked rather proud of himself than sorry. "Loki!"
"Please note my apologies are genuine when they are directed towards you. Although, I have to admit, I'm quite proud of myself. It's my best art." Loki announced, bringing himself up on his elbows, eyes ravaging your naked flesh, littered with his marks.
Noticing the difference between your bodies, you quickly turned around to see the reflections had been right; Loki's body remained unmarked. "I swear to god I left hickeys and bite marks all over you last night."
"You tried but got rather mad when my skin healed itself." Loki explained, pulling you back in his warm arms. The soft gesture surprised you, the whole situation coming into light. You had slept with Thor's murderous brother. Loki read your thoughts. "Don't be like that, love. What what I can remember, you enjoyed yourself last night quite immensely. If it will make you feel better, I can show all the love bites you made the night before."
Thankful you hadn't drank anything last night, you had been so happy to not wake up with a hangover and Loki. Turning to face him, you raise an eyebrow. "What?"
With a smirk, his chest gleamed green for a second before it uncovered layers and layers of hickeys, and reddening bite marks. It was identical to yours. You gasped in shocked while Loki stared at you in amusement, his arms tightening. "You did a little bit of damage. I'm proud."
"Holy shit—" you were cut off by Thor and Steve bursting into your room, the sudden motion making you cover up your naked chest with a shriek. The two men's jaws dropped as they took in the scene, Loki's bare chest covered with the evidence from last night, his arms wrapped around you while you stared at them with wide eyes. "Knock, goddamnit!"
Both of them stood in silence, their brains not processing what was in front of them. Steve's eyes had mirrored yours from when you caught him kissing Sharon, eyes watering, you could see his heart breaking just by making eye contact. But at that moment, you couldn't find yourself to care, not with Loki's arms around you.
"What—" Thor began.
Loki smirked, kissing your bare shoulder. "Hello, brother."

I have to wear that?!
Loki x (f)reader
Request: Hello!! May I request a cute and fluffy Loki x Female s/o story where they have a thing where they go into a store and pick out the ugliest tackyest clothing items and the other person has to make it look good and loser pays for lunch.
Warnings: poor clothing decisions?
Story type: drabble
A/N: sorry this took so long :'(
Tumblr media
You took your boyfriend (yes, the god), Loki, out to the mall a lot. But not for the normal shopping trips. You take him out and have a little competition. You both buy a horrendous and tacky clothing item, and the other person has to make a case on why it isn't tacky, and a judge will decide who wins. The judge is just whoever you can get. Loki normally wins, but thats just because he can make anything he wears look good. The looser (often you) has to pay for lunch.
Today, you two are shopping in Target for the piece of clothing. You both shop separately and can't see the piece until the other person gives it to you to try on. You are shopping in the mens section for Loki to find some ugly sweater or something when you spot the perfect pair of shorts.
They are a grape colored purple with leopard print and they are kind of short. A grin makes its way on your face as you snatch the shorts off the shelf. "Perfect" you giggle to yourself.
After making your purchase, you wait in the car for your significant other as he purchases whatever it is you have to wear. He enters the car with a slick look on his face as he stuffs his bag next to yours in the backseat.
"What's that smile for babe?" You pout at his smug look. He just breathes out a chuckle.
"Oh nothing." He smiles. You roll your eyes and smile with him. He's to cute to stay mad at him.
~
When you go into you and his shared apartment, you both sit on the couch holding your bags tightly. "You first" You say and he nods eagerly. He pulls out of the bag the ugliest sweater you've ever seen. It is the material of a winter sweater, but it has a Hawaiian print. It is like a beach shirt meant for winter.
"I have to wear that?!" You shout with a scared chuckle.
"Yes." Loki deadpans. "What do I have to wear?" He asks in curiosity. You pull out the purple shorts that look like they should be worn by Dionysus around camp half blood. They aren't cute, but neither is that sweater. As he looks at the shorts he visibly cringes. You smile proudly at his disgust.
You both put on the ugly clothing and pick Tony Stark to judge. He laughs out loud as you walk out in the sweater.
"That is so ugly!!" He laughs.
"But, its good for when you are spending the summer where its cold? Its perfect for that!" You state, trying to sound like you care without laughing. You then take a seat next to Tony and await your boyfriends arrival. He dramatically throws himself out the door and walks in.
There is a brief silence before you and Tony burst into cackles. You are practically rolling on the ground and you struggle to breath. Even Loki is trying to stay composed. The shorts are as short as his underwear and they are tight. He doesn't help the look with his dark green nirvana shirt that doesn't match the shorts at all.
"Oh my goodness, I need to take a picture of this!" Tony laughs and pulls out his phone. He aims the camera at Loki and the god poses like a super model.
"You look so adorable babe!" You tease your boyfriend. He sticks his tongue out at you but chuckles right along with you and Tony.
After some teasing and runway struts from the both of you, Tony has chosen his winner. "Y/N made the better case, and looks better in hers." Tony finally says, and you dance happily around. Loki slumps on the couch and pouts like a child as you run around him doing a victory dance.
"No need you rub it in my face Y/N." He whines. You grin and throw your arms around him, giving him a big hug.
"I'm sorry." You laugh. He rolls his eyes and smiles brightly at you, causing you to squeeze him tighter in the embrace.
"Does this mean I have to wear these shorts to lunch? And pay for lunch?" Loki asks with an annoyed look. You nod while beaming up at the dark haired man.
Lets just say, there were a lot of looks thrown at you two as your boyfriend showed up to Chipotle in his green shirt and purple leopard shirts. But it couldn't bother you both any less, you were content with holding hands and loving each other.

"I would rather die a thousand times;" with loki please?
Warnings: argument, hurt/comfort, cringey crying, ambiguous ending.
Summary: You decided to ask Loki if the two of you could ever have a romantic relationship. Loki, who knows this question might be from some weird Midgardian infatuation instead, gets defensive.

Happy ending! I’m sorry for the (mostly) angst!
+-+--
The sun sank low beneath the horizon long before Loki had said a word. You were biting at your nails silently. The god was yet to make his decision. Time dragged on and on, ticking along with the clock on the mantle. The sound it made was horrendous. The sound of silence would have been worse. You wanted an answer, but it would take years and years before the two of you could reach an agreement.
You just wanted to know if there was a possibility.
“Loki?” you whispered. You couldn’t keep your mouth shut any longer.
“Hmm?” Loki picked up his head and faced you. He had that sad look in his eyes, again, his fingers curling nervously. “Oh, yes,” he said quietly. “I was still thinking, Y/N, I apologize.” He pulled his hands over his knees, then back over his thighs. “You really think that he’s out there, don’t you?”
“Who?” you asked, knowing exactly what he was referring to. You didn’t want to give in to his let-down — not when you still had some shred of honor left. You found your feet very appealing, suddenly.
“That man; the ‘One,’ you’ve called him.” Loki heaved a heavy sigh and shook his head. He wiped his face. Your heart plummeted. Dipped. Your belly was set ablaze and your eyes felt scratchy. You knew what was coming. “Listen, I don’t know if we’d ever be… together, but I would feel much better if I knew your ‘One’ was still searching for you, too.”
“Loki,” you pleaded, “that isn’t fair.” You swallowed the tears down — if you cried now, it would show how weak you were — how much you relied on him. He would be scared off, wouldn’t he? Would he lose respect for you? Would he despise you? What would be the outcome? What would happen? “That’s not fair at all…”
“No, it isn’t,” he conceded. He turned his head away from you. You knew he couldn’t handle your tears well. His voice raised slightly as he continued, “But asking such a fragile question isn’t fair to me, is it?”
You felt the tears slip down. You wiped them away quickly, trying to regain your composure. “Loki…”
“Is it?” he snapped, causing you to jump. “Did you have to ask now, Y/N? Did you have to let your emotions get the better of you when we’re trying to escape this blasted planet?” With each word, more rage slipped into his voice, his tone, his whole manner. He was furious with you. You had upset him.
“Loki, I —”
“Asking me to be your partner is out of the question! I would be dead first, Y/N! The situation we’re in, the pressure we’re under, I would rather die a thousand times than put our lives at risk for your silly fantasy!” He threw his hands down. You didn’t remember them flying so high. “Dying like a hero is far better than dying to protect your flimsy, mortal heart.” His chest peaked, then fell harshly. “You change so frequently; I’m surprised you even figured out that you wanted me. Perhaps it’s the thrill of danger, yes? The possibility of becoming a legend? An idol? Or is that too much glory for you? Are you hoping for rescue? To be saved like you had been taught from so young?”
You couldn’t speak. You didn’t move. You didn’t know how; after all, you hadn’t really been on the receiving end of his scolding. Well, that wasn’t really scolding. That was just… degrading. He was insulting you, peeling away your confidence layer by layer with a steady glare. He was angry — no, he was embarrassed — at your query. If you knew he would react this way, you would have sewn your own lips shut. You thought you could trust him. You wanted to trust him. You wanted that more than anything.
“You’re being cruel,” you pushed out. “You have no idea what I want.”
“I know you’re a small, witless child,” he growled. Loki stood from his seat. You ducked your head and stared at your knuckles. He grabbed your chin, jerking your face up without hurting you. “You’re simply an… an insect in the grand scheme of things who imagines greatness for yourself. I’m something you haven’t attained, that you haven’t experienced. You don’t want me for who I am, but rather what. Y/N, you’re a dreamer. That is why you follow me. Yes?” The god’s eyes searched yours with a frantic need. You clenched your jaw, removing his hand from your face.
You said nothing.
“Answer me,” he spat. He dropped his arms, spreading his legs apart in a warrior’s stance. He was battling this topic more than you had imagined. Unless you were seeing things, Loki’s blue eyes were shining. His lips were tight against each other. Why was he losing his temper so? “Answer!”
You kept your eyes focused on his; you wouldn’t say anything, you couldn’t, your tongue wouldn’t let you. Your knees shook. Your hands tingled. Your cheekbones tingled, too. Your throat hurt. Your nose burned. The longer Loki saw your tears, the wetter his own orbs became. Your body hadn’t racked with sobs yet, but they were waiting to erupt any moment.
“Why could you possibly want a relationship with me, Y/N? I’m not yours to study, to toy with. Greatness cannot be the basis of love.” He looked between you and the door. His escape was too far away. The confrontation was hurting far too much — it was evident, written all over his face. “You can’t love me. Why would you?”
“Because you’re a hero,” you whispered. Your eyes followed him, but your limbs disobeyed every order to stand, to turn away, and walk out the door. Your last chance to spare your own feelings was slipping through the door. “If you weren’t, I would have been gone long before asking the question.”
“So… it is greatness,” he said quietly. “You want the persona.” He sniffed sharply, settling back into his chair. He raked his hands through his hair, once, twice, three times. He couldn’t sit still, but you still couldn’t move. “Not… me.” He wiped under his eye with his thumb. Finally, you understood why Loki was so offended by your question.
After all, who could ever love a man if he was a concept? What woman was loved wholly when the world focused on her beauty?
Your own heart shattered as you watched his crumble. Before you understood what was happening, you stood and walked to the prince. The forgotten prince. The prodigal son who had been thrown away, cast aside, and crushed like a cigarette under a boot. Once a bright flame, but quickly reduced to dying embers. Oh, and you had the nerve to ask him if there was a possibility of having his heart… you were like a child asking to hold something frustratingly delicate.
You held his head, petting his hair for him. Your lip wobbled, as did Loki’s. He shook his head with agony. He buried his face in your body, clinging onto your hips with arms wrapped tight. You kept running your fingers on his head, scratching his scalp, and playing with his hair. His arms shook against your person. He tugged you between his knees to grip you better.
“I love you,” your voice came, echoing the ringing thought in your nearly empty mind. “I would love you even if you weren’t a god; I would love you if you lived under a bridge and smoked gasoline.” You tried for some humor. Loki’s fingers dug into your shirt. “Your greatness comes from your heart, Loki. Isn’t that what matters? Your heart?”
His shoulders jerked forward, the pace faster and faster as a heart-wrenching noise escaped from him. You tightened your grip on him. His sobs kept coming, over and over and over. They weren’t loud —  they sounded more like whimpers than anything else. It didn’t mean that the sound wasn’t enough to tear someone’s soul in half. It was tearing your soul in half. Seeing him like this… you didn’t know what to do other than to be his anchor. This was so unlike Loki; at the same time, this was Loki.
This was every piece of hurt he had been holding onto for who knows how long. You had just found the weak spot in his armor. Loki loved you deeply and you could care less if it was platonic or romantic. Your stupid selfishness had caused a breakdown…
Yet, it was healthy. He needed this. He needed this.
You didn’t need an answer tonight. You didn’t need an answer for a while.
This was more important. You’d rather die a thousand times than walk out on him in a moment of need.
The clock passed midnight long before Loki calmed. By the time he had stopped making that tear-jerking sound, the clock was seconds away from chiming. When he stopped shaking, it was almost one o’clock in the morning. You had moved to sit next to him then. Loki rested his head on your chest and shoulder. The only words spoken were your affirmations and your coos. For the Norns’ sakes, the crying was awkward; just by the way he stared off into space, you could tell he wouldn’t want to talk about this.
Ever.
“I’m sorry,” he said once it was over. “That wasn’t very… very heroic of me, was it? He laughed sourly. You continued to stroke his hair. “I wail like an infant and you’re still here…”
“I thought it was very brave,” you said honestly. “Breaking down in front of someone who might not truly love you? I’d just run away and hide.”
“You’re pushing it,” he mumbled, deadpan. “If this was me years ago, I don’t suppose I would have even let you see me like that. I would rather be dead, first.”
“I’m glad we solved something, tonight,” you told the giant in your arms. “But next time, I think we should talk about it slowly.”
“Agreed.” Loki closed his eyes. “Now, if you’ll excuse me.”
“Oh, you’re excused,” you yawned. The clock ticked quietly. It was like a lure to sleep. You felt safe, squished in this seat with Loki.
If someone wanted to take you from Loki, you’d have to be dead first.

The story with the horse
Loki X Reader
Tumblr media
Ok so I saw that your profile has requests open and I love the way you write Loki mischeif and shenanigans so if you have time there's a prompt I really want to read ok so here it is: Thor introduces you to Loki's great great great great... grandchildren. They're horses. You and Loki have an awkward talk. Idk if you know about Norse mythology (I don't) but I saw that apparently Loki got fucked as a horse and had a baby??? Thanks for reading my weird request, love your loki mischeif.
Request by @dragonagebelike
Firstly, thank you a lot for the request, I had a lot lot of fun with this one! :D
Secondly, sorry if it's a little late, school just got me really busy and I wanted to research into this one a little more :)
Warnings: None, though mention of blood and stabbing (slight)
“You have sent her where to?!”
“You’ve heard me, brother. To the horse stables. Why wou-“
“Thor, I swear to Odin, if she-“
“If she what? I think she’s got the right to know! Especially since you proposed-“
“There’s nothing to know, you moron! It’s a damn horse!”
Loki rushed through the halls of Asgard, past other nobility and servants who leaped aside very quickly. There was always a certain caution needed in front of Loki, but a furious Loki was even more erratic.
He was followed by his brother Thor, who looked quite amused by Loki’s outrages and still kept talking.
Outside in the gardens the gardeners as well took cover and hurried as far away as possible. But Loki didn’t even glanced at them, his thoughts were running around you and what disaster Thor might had caused.
Finally they both reached the horse stable to find you next to one of the many royal horses. With horror Loki realized just what horse exactly ha caught your opinion.
Your face lit up when you noticed Loki walking towards you.
“Loki! Why have you never shown me this place? All these hidden gems…” Lovingly you caressed the horses neck.
Meanwhile Thor leaned against the wall, arms crossed and a big grin on his face.
“Yes, brother, why haven’t you?”
To his fortune, Loki ignored him. “Darling, why won’t we just-“
But you also didn’t paid attention to him, but was struck by the beauty in front of you.
“Oh my, look at this one’s eyes! Have you ever seen such a bright green?”
Thor chuckled “Oh yes, more often than I want, actually…”
Suddenly he bent over in pain, a slight cry escaping his lips. Holding his hand against his waist, he noticed the small dagger. “Bastard,” he whispered quietly.
You turned to him in concern. “Thor, are you okay?”
“Yes, Lady Y/N, I’m-“
Annoyed Loki stept in front of him and blocked your sight. “Y/N, my mother would love to discuss about the wedding preparations”
“Oh, sure, I’ll be on my way.” Suddenly a little bit more nervous but also exited you thought about the wedding ahead of you, all the preparations, all what needed to be done and fixed. But then the horse’s eyes caught yours again and a strange thought occurred. “Loki, don’t you think your eyes look a lot alike? The similarities are really… No offence”
“What a coincidence!” You heard Thor shout a little bit too…exited.
Loki turned his head very slowly, and Thor could latterly feel the daggers in his abandon again, so he shut up.
Not seeming to notice any of their fights you traced the horse’s neck, deep in thought. “Yes, what a sweet coincidence…”
But a quick glance to Loki, turned your contemplation into concern. “Dear, are you alright? I really didn’t mean no harm, the green of your eyes are really just as green as the horses.”
“Yes, brother, you wanna finally tell, your fiancé what you wanted to tell?”
For second you glanced at Thor in confusion, before shifting your eyes back to Loki. “Tell me what? Did I do something wrong?”
Loki’s eyes softened almost immediately. He sighted in defeat. “No, my dove. I’m just afraid, what I’d tell you, will quite…irritate you.”
“Oh? Now im interested.”
“Me too, me too.” You heard Thor say once more, and once more Loki slowly, too slowly turned towards his brother, a way too calm expression on his face.
“Thor… right now, the only thing inhibiting terrific murder is my Y/N, so I suggest, if you don’t want to end up stuck-“
“Yeah, yeah, you’ll stab me or to more horrendous things. Believe me, I got this after a few years.” Nevertheless, Thor made his way towards the exit of the barn. “Anyways, I think you two deserve some time alone to…talk. Have fun!”
“Oh and Lady Y/N, if necessary – you know where to hit.”
“Thor…”
“I’m gone, I’m gone.”
Once he was gone you turned back to Loki, curious of what he had to say.“So…”
Loki cleared his throat. “You see. This one was quite a very long time ago. A very, very long time ago…”
“Loki”, you chuckled. “It’s alright. I know what I was getting into when I said yes.”
But he didn’t really seem to listen, he kept on staring at the horse… that seemed to stare right back.
Suddenly he took your hand in his and started to pull you away, out of the stables. “This horse is getting on my nerves.”
You laughed amused, but followed him nevertheless. Once outside, and pretty far away from the stabled you started once again.
“You see, many years ago, you got the picture, when Asgard was being built.”
“You mean the whole kingdom, or…?”
“Yes, the whole kingdom. And the planet, too, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is that at that time I was …found of this woman, called Freya.”
You gasped. “Freya? The goddess of Love?” Loki was prince, yes, but Freya? Oh, wow.
“And marriage, yes.” Suddenly he placed both his hands on your shoulder, looking in your eyes strenuously. “But that was a very long time ago. She doesn’t mean anything to me now, you hear.”
Softly you put a hand on his cheek, smiling a little bemused. “Loki, it’s okay. I would be surprised if there’s never been someone special on your side.”
He smirked. Of course he did. “Naturally. The problem was only, the main builder - some irrelevant Hrimthurse – was promised to wed Freya, so of course, I needed to intervene.”
“What did you do?” You asked with sincerely curiosity.
“I stole his horse.”
“That doesn’t sound too bad.”
“In the shape of a horse.” He added. “A mare, to be exactly.”
“Oh.”
“And gods, humans, horses, there’s no difference in how to distract the males in the easiest way.”
“OH.”
“So yes… it’s in fact no coincidence Sleipnis’ eyes look much like mine.
But, darling, it’s just a horse to me, nothing else. In fact, it belongs to Odin now and means nothing to me.”
“Oh.”
“Love?”
He was uncertain of how you would react. Surely it was quite some news.
But his concerned soon turned into relief when a bright grin appeared on your lips.
“I’m the stepmom of a horse?”

Spellbinding (Chapter Fourteen)
Tumblr media
Summary: While dealing with a surprising new development in their relationship, Loki and (Y/N) are stuck in the middle of an explosive feud between Steve and Tony.
Pairing: Loki X Reader
Word Count: 3.7k
Warnings/Disclaimers: None
A/N: I’d call this a filler chapter but I absolutely love writing about the Avengers as a whole! I also thought we needed a little break from the plot for some team bonding before things get too crazy lol I hope that you enjoy!
Chapter Fourteen November 22nd, 2015 Avengers Tower, New York City (Previous Chapter)
“You read this book when you were how old?”
(Y/N) smiled mischievously and turned her attention back to reorganizing her closet. “I was seven. I checked it out from the library without telling my Aunt Evelyn and read it late at night; I couldn’t sleep without my nightlight on for months afterwards but I’m glad I read it, since it’s a literary classic and everything.”
Loki let out a half-laugh and turned the page of his book. “Well, if we’re ever blessed with children, I think we should wait until they’re at least twelve to introduce them to Dracula. Perhaps even fourteen.”
“Children?”
In an instant, Loki froze and it dawned on him what he’d accidentally said. (Y/N) was also frozen, her arm still extended to grab a hangar from inside the closet. “I-I…I just meant…I’d like to…” Loki cleared his unusually tight throat. “I, ah, wouldn’t mind having…you know, children. Someday. With…with you.” Dammit, I’ve made a mess of things again, Loki inwardly groaned.
They’d only been together for a little over four months and it was much, much too early in their relationship to bring about the subject of children. But after he acknowledged his love for (Y/N), it was challenging for Loki to envision a future without her in it and lately, the idea of a more permanent future with the woman he loved was all he could think about. He knew that his girlfriend liked children; back when she still worked at the New York Public Library, he’d fondly watch her helping them with their homework or reading to them and since officially becoming the Cosmic Sorceress, she’d visited the children’s ward at the nearby hospital once a week to cheer up the young patients. And despite what others might believe, Loki also liked children and the thought of being a father one day – while admittedly a little nerve-wracking – was not an unwelcome one.
Just as (Y/N), with her (Y/E/C) eyes widened in shock, opened her mouth to reply, there came the sounds of voices shouting angrily from the common room down the hall. In an instant, Loki and (Y/N) summoned their magic into the palms of their hands before sprinting out of her suite and down the hallway.
Steve and Tony stood on either sides of the common room and were fully engaged in a blazing argument by the time Loki and (Y/N) arrived. Skidding to a stop beside (Y/N), Loki’s first thought was that he’d never seen either man as angry as they were now, even during the Battle of New York.
“Because you flat-out refused to listen when I said to wait, three S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are at the hospital in critical condition!” Tony yelled.
Steve stepped closer and shouted back, “And if I hadn’t acted when I did, an entire apartment complex would’ve been demolished anyway and dozens of people would be dead! Those agents would be fine right now if you hadn’t hesitated to use your scanners!”
“You mean, if I hadn’t stopped to think the situation through?!”
“You’re acting like a civilian, Stark, not a soldier! Our job is to make the tough decisions as quickly as we can for the benefit of the whole, we don’t have the luxury of holding committees for every choice we make!”
“Bullshit, it’s better to weigh options instead of barreling in without a plan; that’s what you’re best at, though, isn’t it? If you hadn’t made the dumb-ass decision to crash that plane in ‘45, you and Carter-”
Before Tony could finish his sentence, Steve landed a punch on his jaw that sent him staggering backwards. Tony quickly surged forward to retaliate, but Loki used his magic to halt his movement while (Y/N) used hers to stop Steve. “Enough!” They dissolved their magic and with matching looks of contempt, both Steve and Tony turned and stormed away, leaving Loki and (Y/N) to gape at each other in shock.
“Yeah, that was a continuation of what happened on the Quinjet.” They turned and watched Bruce step out of the elevator with a weary expression on his face. “I’ll explain everything to you both, but can we do it in private? The rest of the team’s at each other’s throats and I don’t want all the fighting to accidentally trigger the Big Guy…”
After leading the scientist into (Y/N)’s suite and subtly lighting one of her calming lavender-scented candles, Loki sat beside his girlfriend on the sofa and listened as Bruce talked. “This arms dealer was holding an entire apartment building in Luxembourg hostage, said he’d blow the place up if his demands for more guns weren’t met. Fury sent Steve, Tony, Bucky and Clint this morning; the plan was to surround the building and find a way in before going after the guy, but he decided he didn’t want to wait any longer and turned an automatic timer on for the explosives. Cap sent the other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in to clear the building and Tony said to wait for the agents to give word before ordering Bucky to take the shot, but Steve didn’t listen. Bucky took the shot, got the guy, but the explosives still went off.” Loki and (Y/N) exchanged looks of confusion, and Bruce continued. “There was a pressure timer hidden in his hand, they call it a dead man’s switch; Tony scanned and saw it at the last second, but Steve was already giving the order to Bucky.” Bruce started pacing as he ran a hand through his hair. “It’s like a civil war; Clint and Nat are taking Tony’s side, they think Steve could’ve waited a little longer, and Sam and Bucky are on Cap’s side.” He snorted in derision. “Thanksgiving dinner should be a blast this year.”
(Y/N) nodded, a saddened expression on her face, but Loki furrowed his brow. “Thanksgiving? You host a dinner of thanks on Midgard?”
“I’ll explain it to you later.” She flashed him a brief smile before returning her concerned gaze to Bruce. “Is there anything we can do?”
“You both should probably just stay out of it; they might come around faster if they see that you’re neutral in all this.” The scientist walked to the door. “I’d better go down and talk to Fury, so I’ll see you guys later.”
Once Bruce closed the door behind him, (Y/N) threw herself back against the cushions of the couch and sighed. “How could something like this have even happened? We’ve been such a strong team these past few months and now…”
“They’re both strong-willed men and stubborn in their own right, you know that. Each holds steadfast to their beliefs no matter the consequences; this is a trait of theirs I’ve both admired and admonished in all the time I’ve known them.” Loki admitted. “But Banner is correct, any attempt of ours to help may only worsen the situation for everyone.”
“Mm-hmm.”
Taking in (Y/N)’s troubled frown, Loki decided to try distracting her from their fighting teammates, laying down and resting his head in her lap so that he was staring up at her. “So, a feast of thanks sounds…quaint.”
As he’d hoped, she relaxed as she gave him a look of amusement and began running her fingers through his hair. “It’s more than that, silly. In America, it’s a day where we give thanks for our lives and the people in them. We sit around a table for dinner and let our loved ones know just what they mean to us, that we cherish and appreciate them, no matter any differences…we might…we might have…” (Y/N) trailed off, pausing a moment before gasping in excitement. “Loki, I think I may have either a brilliant plan or an insane one!”
“I know just what you have in mind, darling. Let’s go!” They both hurried to the living room closet and tugged on their coats and scarves; they had a long, long day of shopping ahead of them.
Although he’d acclimated fairly well to Midgard in the months since his arrival, one of the things Loki still utterly despised about the realm were its ‘grocery stores.’ They were crowded, lit by horrendous fluorescent lights and stocked to the brim with inedible, overpriced food; whenever he’d been asked to accompany one of his fellow Avengers on their shopping trips, he would come up with every excuse under the sun to decline their invitation. But he decided to put aside his displeasure for the benefit of his girlfriend and teammates, resigning himself to pushing the rickety metal shopping cart up and down the aisles as (Y/N) read off her hastily-written list.
Their shopping trip had gone far better than he’d imagined and in no time, they were carrying their bags into the lobby of the Avengers Tower.
“You know, we’re going to need an extra pair of hands to help us with the cooking on Thursday.” (Y/N) pointed out as they stepped into their team’s private elevator. “I’m not very good in the kitchen, as you already know, but I’ve always been able to bake pretty decent pies.”
Loki nodded. “All right, so who did you have in mind to help?”
At that moment, the elevator stopped and the doors opened to reveal the smiling face of his golden-haired brother. “Ah, there you are! The J.A.R.V.I.S. just informed me you had returned from your outing, was it productive?”
“…You could call it that.”
The tone of his girlfriend’s voice prompted Loki to glance over at her; she was looking from Thor to him, her eyebrows raised and a triumphant smile spreading across her face. Finally understanding her words, Loki’s smile morphed into a look of absolute horror. “Oh no, no, no, not him…!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Wait, you guys cooked all this? Without burning the kitchen down?”
Loki couldn’t help but give Bruce a pained look. “Believe me when I say that it was not for lack of trying, Doctor Banner.”
Since they wanted dinner to be a surprise, they’d prepared each dish in one of the kitchens used by the new S.H.I.E.L.D. organization; unfortunately, in their attempt to be secretive they were forced into cramped quarters with rather primitive kitchen appliances at their disposal. And to add to Loki’s growing list of responsibilities, he was forced to babysit the love of his life and his brother in order to prevent the dishes from being ruined by their absolute lack of culinary skills. More than once, he had to use his magic to protect the food he’d cooked from (Y/N)’s over-zealousness with the spices and at one point, he was forced to quickly talk Thor out of using his lightning to rapidly cook the turkey. Hopefully it’ll all have been worth it, Loki tiredly thought to himself.
As if in-tuned with Loki’s inner monologue, Bruce nervously adjusted the sleeves of his coat and replied, “Well, I hope this works and doesn’t just end up making everything worse.”
“You and I both, Doctor.” His eyes were drawn to the elevator as its doors opened, revealing (Y/N) and a cart filled with the feast they’d cooked, and he hurried over to meet her. “Everything’s going to plan so far, they think that it’s only the seven of us for dinner.”
With the help of Bruce, they went about setting the enormous table. “I just sent Thor to fetch Team Cap, so they should be here any minute.” Once they finished, (Y/N) removed her apron and smoothed out her skirt, her anxious expression softening a fraction as she turned to the two men. “Now we see if our brilliantly-insane plan will work.”
Loki had just enough time to lean down and press a reassuring kiss to his girlfriend’s forehead before the elevator doors once again slid open.
“Mmm, smells good in here!” Tony grinned, walking up to (Y/N) and handing her a bottle of wine. “I had Pepper ship one of my best labels over from Malibu for the occasion.”
Natasha did little to hide her amusement at his words. “You just couldn’t resist, could you? And you,” She turned to shoot Clint a glare. “If you don’t stop fidgeting, Barton, we’re going to have a problem.”
“I can’t help it, this stupid suit’s uncomfortable!” Clint grumbled; once Natasha returned her attention to the others, the archer rolled his eyes and whispered to Loki, “Damn straight jacket. (Y/N) forced you into one too, huh?”
“Yes, I-” The sight of Steve, Sam and Bucky entering the room behind Thor caused Loki’s words to die in his throat and as the others caught sight of them, he surreptitiously summoned his magic into his hands in case a fight broke out. Out of the corner of his eyes, he spotted Thor and Bruce exchanging weary looks.
Steve’s face was a mask as he stepped forward. “Stark.”
“Asshat.”
All Hel broke loose; Steve and Tony lunged towards one another, their struggling forms barely held back by Bucky and Clint. A cacophony of shouting quickly filled the room as both sides began arguing with each other, but just as Loki raised his arms to use his magic, (Y/N) calmly stepped forward and walked in between the warring groups. The shouting and struggling instantly stopped as they gawked at (Y/N), but she merely smiled warmly at them as she spoke. “Thank you all for coming to our Thanksgiving dinner, Loki and I are glad you were able to make it. Bruce mentioned that you usually don’t celebrate together, but this is my first Thanksgiving with you all and I wanted to mark the occasion with my new family…all of it.” Her words seemed to have their desired intent, as both Steve and Tony relaxed their stances and the others backed away from them. “Now, we should start eating before everything gets cold!”
Needless to say, dinner was a tense affair. Where there was usually the sounds of deafening chatter and laughter, there was quiet murmuring and stoic looks. Loki watched (Y/N) with equal amounts of admiration and sympathy as she tried her hardest to engage their teammates in conversation with one another and with each failed attempt, he could see a little more of her heart breaking. After learning the difficult truth about her parents and having lived so long without a family, (Y/N) deserved to have a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with her friends. They all did, really. This has gone on long enough, Loki thought to himself as (Y/N) silently stared down at her plate; after a slight moment of hesitation, Loki got to his feet.
“I’ve done a fair amount of reading about this country’s Day of Thanks, and the custom of expressing what one is thankful for whilst surrounded by their loved ones piqued my interest. So, let’s begin.” Loki swallowed thickly, looking around the table at his teammates’ confused faces before settling on (Y/N)’s. “I’m thankful for you, darling. You came into my life at a time when I believed I could never be deserving of love and you showed me not only was I deserving, but that loving you would make me a better man. You’re the love of my life, and believe me when I say that all our lives have been blessed since meeting you.” Loki and (Y/N) shared a smile and as he turned back to address the others, he felt her take hold of his hand and squeeze. “And I know you may find this difficult to believe, but I am also thankful for all of you. When I first joined the Avengers, I was bitter and filled with resentment at the prospect of serving out my sentence on a planet I despised with people I despised even more. But after a short while, once we’d come to understand one another, you accepted me as your teammate and friend. Well, some of you more than others.” His eyes flicked to Tony, who hid his small smile behind his hand, and to Clint, who gave him a small shrug. “I value our kinship above all else and on this Day of Thanks, I implore you all to remember our bonds with one another. Severing those bonds on account of a petty disagreement is something you all will come to regret in the future; take it from me, I have firsthand experience in that particular department.” He and Thor shared a knowing look as he took a seat; although he wasn’t comfortable expressing his emotions so openly, the look of pride in his brother’s eyes had made it worth it.
The table was quiet for several moments, until Steve cleared his throat. “Well, I’m, ah…I’m thankful that after coming out of the ice to an unrecognizable world I was able to find such great friends and teammates in you all.” His azure eyes flicked hesitantly over to Tony. “We may not get along all the time or agree on everything, but that doesn’t mean we should allow ourselves to become divided.”
Tony’s face remained unchanged throughout Steve’s speech and when he got to his feet, Loki could practically hear the others’ sharp intakes of breath. The billionaire held Steve’s gaze for a heartbeat before offering him his hand over the table with his trademark smirk on his face. “Couldn’t have said it better myself, ‘Roid Rage.” The two men shook hands and the room almost instantly relaxed; Loki exchanged looks of triumph with his co-conspirators as dinner continued, satisfied that their plan had been successfully implemented.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Dinner was delicious, by the way.”
“I’m glad you enjoyed it, darling, though I’m not sure what the others thought of it.”
“Well, they were a little too distracted to hand out compliments on food, wouldn’t you say?”
The pair had decided to spend the night catching up on their reading but instead of utilizing the library, they had made themselves comfortable in Loki’s bed with their books and plenty of blankets. Loki sat up against the headboard, his legs stretched out across the mattress and his ankles crossed, and (Y/N) was leaning against his side, her head resting comfortable in the crook of his neck and her free arm holding Loki’s around her waist. They sat in comfortable silence as they read their own books, occasionally permeating the tranquil atmosphere with light conversation.
“Um, Loki?”
“Hmm?” Loki could feel (Y/N) shifting beside him, so he tore his eyes away from his book and watched as she marked her page and set her book down on the bedside table. Setting his own book aside, Loki adjusted himself so he could see her face better. “What is it?”
(Y/N) bit her lip and played with the sleeve of her sweatshirt before answering. “We’ve been so busy planning Thanksgiving dinner and trying to get the team back together that we haven’t had a chance to talk about what you said the other day.” Loki’s brow furrowed in confusion, and the corner of (Y/N)’s mouth twitched. “About wanting to, um, have children. With me.”
“Oh.” Loki felt himself pale; he’d completely forgotten about his slip-up and being reminded of it caused panic to flare in his chest. “I-It was stupid, (Y/N), I just…we don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to, I only meant-”
His explanation was abruptly cut off by (Y/N), who had covered his mouth with her hand and was shaking with suppressed laughter. “I always love those rare moments when you’re the one to get flustered; a little line always forms in between your eyebrows.” She leaned forward and pressed a brief kiss on the spot before moving her hand from his mouth to cup his cheek. “I was surprised by what you said the other day because I didn’t realize that you’ve imagined the same future that I have.” (Y/N) shyly looked down but she reached for his free hand and intertwined their fingers together. “I may not have much experience with relationships, Loki, but I love you with all my heart and if there’s anyone I want to share that wonderful future with someday…well, it’s you.”
A grin slowly formed on Loki’s face; removing one of his hands from hers, he gently took hold of her chin and coaxed her to look at him. “Really?”
She nodded, her (Y/E/C) eyes sparkling with happiness. “Really.”
Surging forward, Loki held her face in his hands and smashed his lips against hers. (Y/N) made a sound of surprise before wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing back with equal vigor; Loki eventually found himself lying flat on his back while (Y/N) straddled his waist, one hand clutching her hip while the other traveled up and down her spine as they kissed. (Y/N) pulled her lips away from his and just as his throat made a noise of protest, she began kissing along his jawline and down his neck; needless to say, his annoyance quickly morphed to groans of satisfaction. Only when her soft lips brushed against a particularly sensitive patch of skin near his collarbone did Loki lose all restraint; he flipped them over so that (Y/N) was pressed against the mattress and after grabbing her hands and threading their fingers together, he held them over her head and hungrily attacked her eager lips with his own until an unfortunate lack of air forced them to break apart.
“I said I’d like children with you someday, Loki, not today!” (Y/N) exclaimed breathlessly, a dazed sort of smile illuminating her face as she looked up at him.
Loki let out a laugh before kissing her forehead and rolling off to lay on his back beside her; try as he might, he couldn’t keep the broad grin off his face. “Apologies, my love, but you’re entirely irresistible. If I’d known there were kisses like that in store for me, I’d have told you all that ages ago…”
Later that evening, (Y/N) was fast asleep against his chest and the sounds of her quiet snores filled the room as he stretched out on the bed in contentment. I suppose there’s only one thing left to do, Loki thought tiredly, pulling (Y/N) closer and glancing over at the bedside table that hid the engagement ring before sleep finally claimed him.

Loki Episode 1 initial reaction
Mixed opinions so far. I could write an entire essay on this, and maybe I will at some point, but here are my initial thoughts, starting with the negative:
I really despised the first twenty minutes. It’s so jarring. Loki’s dialogue, especially, doesn’t sound anything like Avengers!Loki. His speech patterns and entire dialect are suddenly different, much more modern and filled with too many Earth-specific terms with no explanation. There’s no easing the viewer into the difference, it’s just suddenly there and it’s horrendously whiplashy
The same applies to the presentation of his character. Avengers!Loki was grandiose and majestic and witty, even when he was being defeated. This Loki... isn’t. He comes across as juvenile, bumbling, over the top in more of a cringey way, and he’s the butt of the jokes that rely on his humiliation. He doesn’t feel like the same character from any of the movies to me, or, at least, not for the first twenty minutes
With the desert scene... Yes, it bugged me that his hair was suddenly shorter and didn’t just look like a messed up version of Avengers!Loki’s hair. And it also bugged me that Loki didn’t understand what the humans were saying in a different language. Was the Allspeak not working? Or if Allspeak doesn’t exist in the MCU, are we supposed to believe he studied the English language or that Asgard and Earth happen to share a common language?
I wanted Loki to put up more of a fight. I don’t mind him being defeated by people more powerful than him, but it felt like he resigned too quickly and allowed himself to be shoved around by them too soon. I wanted him to struggle more, it felt weird for him not to try harder to go all death and destruction and for it to not require more pain inflicted on him to get him to (reluctantly) go along with it
The humour in this show didn’t do it for me. It felt out of place and not even particularly funny to begin with. Yeah, yeah, I get it, they want their show to be irreverent and zany, whatever draws in the largest audience, right? But if they were going to go for that style of humour, it could be done so much better than how they did it here. And I’m reiterating please just let Loki be witty, please
Once it got to the part where Loki’s watching himself on the screen, everything got a lot more palatable for me and the last half has made me more hopeful
I’m liking Mobius so far. He actually tries to understand Loki and listens to him. He has empathy but he isn’t going to let Loki walk all over him either. Mobius sort of feels like a guide for viewers who are unfamiliar with analysing Loki’s character and not taking him at surface level, and he asks some of the right questions. I want to see where they’re going with Mobius and Loki’s dynamic
From the instant I saw Loki watching himself in the trailer, I was hoping he’d learn about his hand in Frigga’s death and his own death, and we got that! And more! We also got Odin's death and Loki and Thor’s reconciliation. I liked that they gave it time for the emotional impact to hit, this was the part that started giving me hope again. This was the first time when Loki’s character felt actually recognisable to me. Also, yes, I did enjoy the ouchies
The whole D.B. Cooper thing didn’t feel like something that Thor 1!Loki would have done in his past. It just didn’t. When I saw that in the trailer, I was hoping it’d be a variant Loki or our Loki having to be in disguise or something, but nope, it’s supposed to be part of our Loki’s past
Neat. By the sounds of it, Mobius will be ‘hiring’ Loki to help him catch a Loki variant. I was hoping for that and the play of Loki’s worst enemy being himself
He escaped faster than I thought the show would let him. I mean, he isn’t all the way out yet, and I don’t think he will be, but still, at least he managed to do something and tried to put up more of a fight. I’m still surprised there were no deaths though
The whole ‘we use Infinity Stones as paperweights’ thing... I get that they’re trying to establish the TVA as a more powerful entity than any we’ve come across in the entire universe, but at what point do you stop keeping having to one up the power of what’s already been established in the MCU? This isn’t so much a criticism as it is something I find interesting as a discussion point
On the bright side, at least most of the stuff I didn’t like in the trailers is out of the way now
I was hoping to come to a more solid conclusion about whether or not I’ll like the show after the first episode, but I’m still undecided. It’s so frustrating because a lot of the issues with it could have been so easily fixed. It’s set straight after Avengers Assemble, therefore Loki should feel like Avengers!Loki. I don’t know why that’s controversial. Just look at Avengers!Loki’s speech patterns and apply them! How hard could that have been? Even if they wanted more ‘accessible’ dialogue for him (and, yes, I’m tired of the anti-intellectual trend these days), they could have gradually eased him from the more Shakespearesque stuff to the dialect he has in Ragnarok, and that could have had an in-universe explanation of him picking up language/assimilating or whatever. But they didn’t. Just, bam, it’s different now because we said so and we don’t care if it doesn’t make sense. I’m so tired of things being constantly retconned and I still don’t know if I have the energy to justify it to myself to myself anymore.
But yeah, I think there’s a good chance of the worst being out of the way now. Could be famous last words, but my hope hasn’t been completely destroyed. The first half really didn’t sit well with me at all, but the latter half was far better, even if it wasn’t perfect.
And I’m sure I’ll think of a bunch of things I should have added to this list straight after posting, but oh well.

[[OOC: Putting most of this one under a read more because it is very, very long. ]]
"Killing your father is not the greatest decision that you have made, Professor. It would mean that you have held a grudge against him for leaving you and your mother. It would also mean that you have at least pitied your mother for going through that and becoming mad at him for not being there for you, furious at your mother falling in love with that horrendous man. " Thirteen said absentmindedly before sighing.
"Don't mind about what I said." She told him as she waved it off.
She clenched her jaw and glared at him when asked about killing them.
"I may be powerful, Riddle, but I do not kill people without any real reason behind it. Yes, they may have tortured me throughout my childhood but I do not want to wish it upon anyone, not to mention, if I ever did kill them then it would mean that I have lowered myself to be at their level! I'm lucky and surprised that they have let life this long. Other escapees have tried to escape but they would always die. A miracle you would say for what happened to me yet a curse at the same time." She snapped at him unintentionally letting out a bloodthirsty aura, her eyes swirling red, her hair levitating a bit, and her mark glowing. She closed her eyes, let out a sigh as she relaxed, and went back to normal before she stood up from the chair.
"I'm sorry that I snapped, sir. It was uncalled for." She told him as she bowed to him before she sat back to her chair, holding her arm that held the mark, rubbing it sheepishly.
"Him? Oh, you don't want to know Him. Cain is a different person than Him. Too different, some might say that He is the punisher and Cain is the sinner." She told him as she looked down. Not wanting to look at him for her childish outburst.
"I'm sorry for my outburst, Professor. This conversation has fallen deep than it should have." She told him before she looked at him. She stood up and teleported behind him.
"It's too bad that you wouldn't remember any of this, Professor." She whispered to him before she touched on the back of his head and used one of her powers using the blue eyes, making him close his eyes and sleep.
His body limped on the chair and was about to fall on the floor before she catches him with the levitating spell.
She touched his shoulder and she teleported him to his bedroom. She levitated him in his bed carefully and tucked him. She snapped her fingers and changed his clothes to his sleeping clothes before walking to him. She touched his forehead lightly to lock their conversation away and hypnotized his memories a bit to the situation before the conversation and she dismissed him and she went to her dorm while he went to his home and sleep.
She sighed and teleported away from his room, after leaving him a small vial of blue grace, letting the professor sleep and gave him dreams on his dreams coming true, and protecting him without any nightmares.
She teleported to her dorm with her blindfold on and changed her clothes. She put the notes in her binder and went to sleep as the sun started to rise.
She silently thanked God that tomorrow was a Saturday and has no classes. She needs to get to the bunker again and fast. Some more research has to be done. But first, she was needed somewhere else.
Thirteen may have arranged his memories and such. But emotions were harder to control and manipulate. So Riddle will always have a nagging feeling about having to talk to Thirteen tomorrow morning, that is if he can catch up to her.

It was now Saturday morning and Thirteen had finished breakfast at the Great Hall. She walked to her dorm and waved her wand to reveal a fake floorboard beside her bed. She opened it and grabbed the backpack that was underneath it.
She concealed the board again then walked to the forbidden forest. She went deep inside the forest and then she saw the waterfall with some broken structures. Some of the structures had some unknown runes while some had sigils. For an average witch or wizard, they wouldn't recognize any of the drawings. But Thirteen did, how can she not if she was the one who put it there.
She was standing a few inches away before she put her hand in mid-air then the atmosphere started to gloss like it wasn't real, like it was a barrier. She smiled to herself and just went straight in.
She knew she was being followed again, she wasn't known for being discreet. She sighed but still kept walking towards a small cottage.
There was a little girl, with soft pale skin, black hair, and grey eyes and a little boy, with white hair, blue eyes, and pale soft skin who both looked to be 5 years old. They looked up to her and squealed as they ran to her, screaming, "Mama! Mama!"
She knelt and was tackled by her two loving kids.
"Hey, kids!" She told them with a laugh. She felt so carefree.
She kissed them both on their foreheads.
"Mama! When will you be staying with us again?" The little girl asked Thirteen.
"Summer is almost here, Constance." She replied to her with a pat on her forehead while her daughter smiled gleefully at her.
"Ma! After your school, can we go to France again?" The little boy asked her.
"Of course, Loki. Now that you mentioned school, how are you learning with Uncle Gabriel?" She asked the twins with a curious look in her eyes.
"We did good!" Loki told her with a grin.
"You two were the most mischievous and cunning little snakes!" A man with blonde hair and blue eyes said as he crossed his arms and leaned against the door frame.
"Did you two do pranks to him again?" She asked them and they smiled sheepishly.
"I'll take that as a yes." She told them as she smirked at them.
"Hey, sis. Why do you have your blindfold on?" Gabriel asked her with an eyebrow raised.
"Sorry, about that, Gabes. Old habits die hard." She told him as she took it off before standing up and said to Gabriel, "Mm~ I smell something good. Did you cook fried chicken?"
"Yep and some adobo chicken and made some fruit salad."
"That sounds delicious! Come on kids, let's eat?" She asked her twins to which, to her surprise, shook their heads no.
That's odd, they would always jump at the word fried chicken.
"We want to play some more, mama!" Constance reasoned as Loki nodded.
"Hm... What about after eating I'll teach you some magical creatures?"
"Really?" Loki said to her with excitement in his eyes.
"Mhm, I learned about some new creatures from the books and professor,"
"Professor Riddle?" Constance said with her head tilted.
"Mhm." She said to her little angel.
"Yes! Professor Riddle is the best!" Loki said, jumping with glee.
"Really? Out of all the stories that she told you about her professors, you like Professor Riddle?" Gabriel asked the twins with a smirk on his face.
"Mhm! Oh, mom! Can we go meet him one day?" Loki asked his mother while Constance just nodded her head at her mother.
"Gee, I don't know. Professor Riddle is always busy with research and stuff."
"🥺" (←They did this look) This made the twins do the puppy eyes.
"Alright, I'll mention it to him later. Man, you two are so persuasive." Thirteen said to her kids as pinch their cute chubby cheeks.
'They're so cute and persuasive, damn. They might end the world with their cuteness,' She thought to herself.
"Yeah, after you explain about to these little twerps," Gabriel said to Thirteen as he walked to her.
"We're not twerps! You're just a jerk!" Constance retorted to Gabriel.
"Yeah!" Loki said as well. This made Thirteen and Gabriel laugh.
"Which reminds me, why do you like him so much?" She asked her twins curiously.
"I want to be like him when I grow up!" Loki reasoned to his mother.
"Makes sense since he is an interesting soul," Gabriel shrugged.
"I want to marry him," Constance said simply which made her mother's eyes go wide and Gabriel choke on his saliva suddenly making him cough.
"Why? You haven't seen him what he looks like, what if he had buck teeth?"
"I don't care, as long as he's mine! " Constance said a smile that made her mother worried, Loki says?" And Gabriel laugh.
"Great! My daughter is persuasive and possessive! What did you do, Gabriel?!" She said to Gabriel.
"Don't look at me! They're your kids! They came out of you! You should know that! And besides, it won't surprise me if she ever becomes a yandere." Gabriel said as he mockingly put his hands up in a surrender motion as he took a step back.
The mother and the twins looked at each other and tilted their heads at Gabriel.
Gabriel had his eyes wide and said, "Nope! Oh hell now! Just go inside and eat dammit. Food's probably cold now."
Then they went inside the cottage and ate some food.

“Well of course I held a grudge,” Tom said, shrugging. “I do not see how the need for revenge could be a bad thing. The feel of the final act - the fear in the man’s eyes as I confronted him, raised my wand, let him comprehend what was about to happen-” Tom’s eyes glinted red for just a moment as he allowed himself to relish the memory - and then he recalled he was with a student. This was not appropriate in the slightest, he chided himself. “Anyhow,” he continued, shrugging. “I feel that more than enough of a good reason to kill, no? Ah, I suppose we are dissimilar. Perhaps for the best, then.”
“Outburst? Oh, no, it is fine, and facinating - and perhaps even fair after my own indiscretio-” And then everything went dark.
-
The following morning, with no memory of his late-night conversation with Thirteen, Tom ate his eggs with relative unease. He was not quite sure what caused this - he had a productive night working on research, then slept quite well - but he had a feeling he was forgetting something, needed to do something. He double and triple checked his calendar, both official and... extracurricular, but no, there was nothing. And so he scanned the Great Hall, eyes lingering on the Slytherin table. There had been a student he had to meet with. The odd girl, Thirteen. If only he could remember why. And he did not see her seated with her peers. Of course not.
Still, he had seen her on weekends before, wandering the grounds, alone. Perhaps he would go for a walk after he ate, and if all went well, perhaps he would run into her.
