A small bump

"Hey y/n!" Axton called out as he shouted down the halls of the Scotiabank Arena.

"Hurry up, we don't want to be late," Jace added.

"Yeah, coming!" you exclaimed cheerfully, following the enthusiastic young boys closely.

"There you are," Aryne said as you, Jace, and Axton caught up to the group of wives and girlfriends of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

"Sorry, took a bit longer. Turns out I'm rubbish at mini hockey and had to do five push-ups as a punishment," you chuckled, explaining the outcome of the game you’d played with the boys before the hockey match tonight.

"Maybe you just need more practice," Axton sweetly suggested as he settled into his seat. "That's what Daddy always says."

The sweet little boy beamed at you.

"Well, he's probably right about that," you replied with a smile to the youngest of the two, before all of you focused on the ice where the players were about to warm up.

However, the match didn’t start off too well.

The Bruins took the lead halfway through the first period, and then scored a second goal just 8 minutes into the second.

But the Leafs fought back strongly. Matthews scored the team's first goal, and just two minutes into the third period, Domi levelled the score 2-2.

Time passed, and despite the Leafs’ impressive comeback, the Bruins struck back and took the lead once again 10 minutes later.

However, just when everyone believed the Leafs were finished, Matthews pulled off the unexpected and scored, levelling the score once more, just 8 seconds before the final buzzer.

Despite the Leafs' incredible comeback, the Bruins came back even stronger. After nearly five hard-fought minutes, they clinched the game in overtime, ending it 4-3.

The corridors were filled with light chatter as everyone awaited the players' emergence from the locker room. That was, until Jace, Ashton, and some of the other kids started playing mini hockey and suddenly shouted out loud.

"Mooom!" Jace's voice echoed through the halls.

"Oh, shit," Aryne murmured. "I wonder what they've done now…" She sighed deeply, glancing at you with the newest addition to their family in her arms.

"Do you want me to go and check on them?" you offered a sweet smile, well aware of the boys' tendencies that might lead to a disagreement.

"Oh, no, one of them started crying... But maybe you could hold her while I go and check?" Aryne suggested with a concerned expression, and you eagerly nodded in response.

The newest Tavares member was absolutely adorable, and you couldn't help but smile as you cradled the baby snugly in your arms, ensuring she was secure in her comfortable blanket and protective headphones to shield her from the noise.

And just as you hugged and gently swayed to keep the baby calm, William emerged from the locker room, his eyes widening slightly at the sight of you.

You and William had been together for a couple of years now. And initially, your relationship was actually just all fun; a rebound from your previous relationship to be exact.

However, there was something about William that kept drawing you back to him. And he simply cherished having someone he could always rely on and spend time with.

At first, it was all casual, no-strings-attached sex - meeting up after a game or when he returned from a road trip. But then it evolved; you started spending the night, then several days, and eventually ended up staying at his place even when he was away.

And this routine continued for several months until William's teammates encouraged him to bring you to a match. So, he did, leading to his teammates then noticing the chemistry between you. And soon after, he had to acknowledge that there might just indeed be something deeper between you two.

Since then, your relationship had been absolutely fantastic. You had so much fun together, trusting each other and feeling completely at ease in one another's company.

To put it mildly, William had fallen harder than he ever anticipated, and now he couldn't imagine letting you go.

However, despite the wonderful connection you shared, there were serious topics that didn’t come easily. Moving in together was one of them. It wasn't until after you’d met his parents and they’d pointed out how strange it was for you to pay rent when you practically lived at William's place.

And another one was the future.

William just didn’t speak much about it. At times, you even wondered if it was because he didn't envision a future with you or if he simply didn't think that far ahead. And as it turned out, it was more the latter.

William enjoyed living in the moment, which for now, meant focusing on his career and having you by his side.

So, you brushed aside any concerns about the future and focused on the present.

However, when William saw you holding little baby Tavares, something did stir within him. The sight of you with a baby, wearing a wide smile on your beautiful face, sparked an unfamiliar feeling. As he slowly walked towards you, a smile appeared on his lips, and he couldn’t help but imagine how it might be if one day that baby was yours and his.

"Hey," you smiled at him as he approached. "Ready to leave?"

William nodded.

"I just need to wait for Aryne to come back and take her," you said, meeting William's gaze for a moment. "What?" you chuckled lightly, noticing a different expression on his usually smug face.

"Nothing," he simply smiled and shrugged before Aryne came over to take the little one back into her arms.

"Thank you, y/n... You're a natural," she smiled at you before you bid your farewells and left the arena.

However, the image of you with the baby lingered in William's mind for the rest of the evening. It was a new vision he hadn't considered before, but there was something about it that felt just right.

You, however, didn't dwell much on it. You had a great relationship with the Tavares family, enjoyed spending time with the boys you occasionally babysat, but that was the extent of it. You didn't think it was something William would dwell on, so why should you?

On the following day, the topic of children continued as the Maple Leafs players were invited to meet with the SickKids of Toronto.

It was a tradition for the team, and after not being able to do it since 2019 due to the pandemic, they were all eagerly looking forward to it.

For the players, it meant a lot to give back to the community - whether through financial donations or simply being present as role models, it brought them immense joy nonetheless.

And that day was filled with nothing but happiness – as much as possible, of course. As William walked into the room to greet the children, wearing his jersey, and seeing their faces light up with excitement, it meant the world to him. Being part of an event that spread so much joy to children who faced constant struggles meant everything.

The atmosphere buzzed with laughter as the players interacted with the children, sitting down to create homemade friendship bracelets. Some of the kids crafted bracelets spelling out names like "Felix" for Auston, and they all took selfies together, sharing their stories. These heartfelt moments simply struck a chord with everyone.

Throughout the day, the media team made sure to capture these touching moments. And when the day ended and the players bid goodbye to the young ones, they were all deeply moved, though they didn't show it openly because of their tough-guy image.

But once they were all back home, things were different.

"Hey, baby, how was your day?" you asked as your boyfriend entered the condo.

He wore a soft but slightly sorrowful expression as he joined you in the kitchen where you were by the stove. William moved gently, wrapping his arms around you, and resting his head on your shoulder before placing a tender kiss on the crook of your neck.

"Emotional," he simply replied. Feeling his body leaning into yours, signalling his need for softness and intimacy tonight, you turned your head slightly and met him in a gentle kiss.

"Well, I made one of your favourite meals," you spoke softly, prompting him to glance over your shoulder at the dish you were preparing. Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes with gravy and lingonberry. "Thought it might be an emotional day for you guys, so..." you offered a sweet smile.

"Have I ever told you that you're an amazing girlfriend?" William remarked, nudging you gently as he kept his arms around you while you finished preparing the meal.

"Um, no, in fact, you should tell me more often," you chuckled.

Then with laughter and smiles, you both set the dinner table and prepared to enjoy the delicious meal together.

But during the meal, you couldn't ignore William's subdued silence.

"Hey, what's on your mind?" you softly asked as you both neared the end of the meal. "Talk to me, Willy…"

"Just thinking… about those kids," William spoke almost in a whisper. "They don't deserve this... But they have no choice. They deal with these struggles every day. I mean, what if it was our kid?"

His question caught you off guard. What if it was our kid?

Our kid...

It echoed in your mind before William interrupted your thoughts.

"Are you okay?" he chuckled slightly, noticing your stunned expression.

"Huh… oh yeah, sure," you offered him a sweet smile. "I just..." You hesitated, unsure whether you should explore the topic further. But William was already on to you.

"Talk to me, y/n/n," he gently urged, repeating your own words.

"I just wasn't sure if you'd thought about... that."

"About what... kids?" William chuckled lightly, and you nodded, looking down at your plate, softly fiddling with the last meatball. "Well, maybe I haven't thought about it much... But after seeing you with Johnny's children yesterday and I’ve been spending time with those kids today, it did make me think things," William added with a chuckle. "Also, I come from a big family – and I know my mom would love to have grandchildren one day, so... I don’t think it's too crazy to consider."

His voice was tender, prompting you to look up and search his eyes, hanging onto every word.

"Me neither," you softly spoke, flashing him another sweet smile. "So, maybe it's in the cards?"

And William couldn’t contain his excitement either. "One day, maybe… yes," he simply replied, before both of you finished your dinners, smiles lighting up your faces.

For the rest of the evening, everything between you was soft and tender.

Thoughts about finally opening up that conversation about the future, went thought your minds, and as you both went to bed together, you fell asleep with smiles on your faces, envisioning a family together in the future.

The following morning, the images of a future family with William still lingered in the back of your mind. Despite trying to push them aside while getting ready for work, it wasn't easy to ignore.

What made it even more challenging was when the Toronto Maple Leafs' media team posted photos from yesterday's meeting with the SickKids.

Sitting at your desk, you scrolled through the photos and watched the short video of the guys interacting with the children. And it touched your heart deeply. Seeing the lads engaging with the kids, their smiles evident even behind face masks, hit harder than expected.

The way he connected with them, showing so much love and care, made your heart skip a beat. You could almost feel a flutter in your lower stomach.

The fireplace lit next to the coutch reflected in his eyes, making them shine. The true prince charming you thought. He smelled like his shampoo too, the sweetest smell in the world.

Slowly, he started massaging your temples, taking deep breaths hoping you would follow his rythym.

" How are you feeling darling ? Still cramping ?"

" Yup, it's been a while since i've had such bad cramps" you closed your eyes as another wave of cramps swallowed you. His hands were warm on your already hot face, the slow patterns on your forhead felt good. " I- I'm sorry for ruining your boys night.. " Look, I have your meds and a blanket ! Don't ask why I have a blanket in my bag I honestly have no idea. "

" Thank you." You took the painkillers, hoping it would work, and fast.

" Alright, lay down baby." he waited for you to do so, and then laid next to you, covering you both with the blanket. He was spooning you, in the common room, next to the fireplace, and he was so, so warm.

" Okay, feeling comfortable ?" You nodded as an answer. "Sleep darling, it will help. And it’s okay, I want you to know that. It’s completely natural and it is valid for you to be emotional, ok ? I’ll be here when you wake up."

Right, so, as far as aesthetics go, this man is already pretty, but then they stuck him in a uniform, and I've always been a sucker for a uniform. He gives gremlin vibes this entire show, despite the serious face that is just stuck like that. (I am starting to sense a pattern...).

What does this man do? Seemingly, nothing. He has way too much time on his hands and a clearly overworked secretary, but I will say the lack of brain cells and puppy dog eyes kinda worked for me. (not enough to finish the series, but I was digging him).

6. Jang Jae Young (Park Seo Ham) - Semantic Error

I love how freakishly tall this man is. Once again I have found an absolute terror of a man (this one totally has a golden heart) and latched onto him instantly. The fact that he came with a built in size difference is just the icing on the cake.

Right so this last one was actually hard to pick between Porsche and Kinn, buuuuut if I'm going form a character aesthetic approach I have to give the #1 spot to Kinn. i love you mama blondie!!! i love you sm!!! shes kinda my mymble tbh she just wants loads of kids man. her wife has to disappear often for her job and when she comes back blondie has 3 new kids holding onto her, cupid gets excited like its christmas and she just got a new puppy but instead its a mixture of new sons and daughters, some of which are not even human. cupid loves her most-of-the-time pregnant wife sm, the biggest pro is of course the bigger boobies her wife gains. during blondie's first pregnancy she had ran to cupid to excitedly show off that her bra no longer fit, the two had a fancy dinner to celebrate lol

their first daughter is shy, sweet and looks very much like blondie (the current Goldilocks) and blondie's mother (the prior Goldilocks). a perfect future Goldilocks to continue the story... although there is a chance she could end up a beast- daring who had become a much more generous king had offered to be the donor when blondie and cupid announced they were looking for one. blondie jumped at the opportunity to have her child be royal blood, so daring and rosabella also have shared custody and usually have her every other week. blondie and daring have a furious bet going on about whose destiny she is going to get, rosabella and cupid stay far out of it.

their first son is adopted, his parentage is unknown but its likely he's not a fairy tale character. hes rambunctious and likes to play in the garden with blondie. he usually ends up covered in mud.

their third child is in fact a bear cub, blondie refuses to elaborate where she got him from but cupid has some ideas and they aren't great. blondie puts him in special handmade baby clothes, its unknown if hes a sentient or wild bear until he turns 4 and speaks for the first time. cupid sighs in relief happy she doesn't have to learn to speak bear. blondie and cupid are fiercely protective of their furry little boy and will straight up throw hands with anyone who talks shit about him.

their 4th child is a girl, although she isnt born in this picture. she has brown hair like her father dexter, blondie managed to snag kids from both the charming boys and shes very proud of that (she jokes about how she wishes darling was a boy so she could complete the whole set) cupid was the one who asked about dexter being the donor and raven had raised a teasing brow "you're not still trying to get with him right? it would be a little crazy if you've been waiting this long for your big master plan to steal him from me" cupid had playfully punched her shoulder and explained it was blondie who would be getting pregnant not her. thankfully raven and dexter also agree to shared custody so blondie isn't struggling with all the children constantly. the little girl is kind and loving, she idolizes her mother raven and tries to dress like her, cupid and blondie support her fashion choices.

- those tired eyes of yours and the way you tried to suppress your yawns concerned him.

- Marc walks towards you and puts both his hands on your shoulders, “how was work today?”

- you started to give a brief synopsis into your day, making it insanely obvious today was too much for you

- he nods in understanding as he hears you, a small smile laying on his face while he runs his hands on your shoulders in comfort

- “I get it sweetheart, I have alot of those too…” reminds me of his painstakingly tiring missions.

- he left a small kiss on your forehead, “I’ll make you food tonight, you should go lay in bed for a bit.” You couldn’t even protest, you were too tired

Prepare for endless ranting. And as a certain someone says: さあショーの始まりだ わ!

I. Takagi Wataru

The Babygirl and Malewife of My Heart Personal Special Tag: #takagi is a good man

Points that I feel need a little elaboration:

I am so normal about them: I use the word "normal" as a synonym for "utterly obsessed with" and "absolutely love and adore". (I don't like the word in itself, hence, the only context I use it in, is this. But that is another story.)

*puts them in a salad spinner*: as in, the salad spinner is my brain, and he keeps rotating in it at high centrifugal force.

Canon isn't real if I don't look at it and That's a solid design right there: Detco Canon is... As much as I love it, I think we can agree it has its shortcomings/issues, and one of them is coming up. These two points go hand in hand at this moment because LOOK AT HIM!!! LOOK AT HIM!!! THIS MAN IS A BABY!!! LOOK AT HIM, HE'S PERFECT!!! THE SPIKY HAIR!!! THE SHAPES!!! THE COLOUR PALETTE!!! HE'S SO CUTE!!

I resonate with this particular video: his new design in the anime (partly thanks to the general Square-and-Pointy-fication) is just... THEY HAD THE PERFECT MAN. IT'S A CRIME. Bless that he is at least still cute in the manga, even if not the same way as in the early anime. The sharp cheekbones and soft looking hair have their charm.

My point is: THIS!!!! MAN!!! IS!!! A BABY!!!!

Literally I would kiss them and I want to BITE them: he makes me go FERAL with LOVE, and makes me feel like I want to gnaw on something or eat a whole fridge or scream endlessly into a pillow. I wouldn't do it to HIM (I'll leave that to Satou Miwako), but generally, the feeling is there. (Okay, I'll be honest, I would totally give him forehead, cheek, or hair kisses.)

LOL I DIDN'T EXPECT TO GET A BINGO, EVEN WITH THE FREE SPACE HAHA

Some points are the same as for Takagi, but here is elaboration on the ones that don't match:

Bastard, A Beast Unleashed and They didn't get bullied enough: let's be real. He's an Absolute Menace. And I sort of love that about him. Highly competent (competency makes me go weak), and if that is not scary (and hot) I don't know what. And sometimes he also goes too far (lifting skirts is not okay at all, Kaito) and needs someone to put a leash on him (or kick a soccer ball at him/chase him in a classroom). I feel that sometimes he needs a bit of bullying a challenge, to think about things. And again, honesty: I love seeing him suffer a bit, I love his Panic Moments LOL. Not in a mean way. But I also love how kind he is; the baseball chapter in the MK manga has my heart, and the Clock Tower Heist, and the Red Tear chapter... Not to mention the Nightmare arc. He cares about people and making others happy. I feel I went on a tangent here. Onto the bastard bit: he CAN BE SUCH A BASTARD AND I LOVE THAT ABOUT HIM TOO. Two of my favourite bits of Bastardry from him include 1) HOW HE DISGUISED AS RAN AND HOW HE BAITED SHINICHI AT THE VERY END OF THAT ENCOUNTER and 2) THE WAY HE SENDS SHINICHI CAREENING IN THE SIDECAR LIKE IT'S NOTHING (but also Shinichi getting right back at him and setting fire to the fckin fuel.) Pure Bastard Energy.

I want their gender: I love the way he is just so free-spirited about how he dresses/disguises. And I love the thought of him and Aoko doing outfit swaps (I blame that competition in MK for these. Also look at these delightful posts on the topic).

Canon isn't real if I don't look at it: I have... issues, with canon, you could say. Like the way he has no support system, especially bothers me. I would like to see his character treated with more care (be it MK or DetCo). I live for good character development, and I crave that for him.

III. Australian Animal of Choice: Koala

Fun fact: I've been in love with koalas ever since I got a keyholder plushie from relatives in Australia when I was like... in kindergarten? Or early elementary? Also don't worry, *puts on sunglasses* I wouldn't have mentioned animals, if I thought I couldn't work with them.

I am so normal about them: I'm not as obsessed as I used to be but I'm eternally fond of koalas. Did you know their fingerprints are so similar to us they could be mistaken for human fingerprints? Or how they spend most of their time sleeping because the eucalyptus they consume is toxic? Or how they can actually swim well? Y/n and george have been dating for a few months now, after being friends for like 3 years or so..

george always loved y/n, he loved how she looked at him, how she would kiss him so deeply, he loved how she makes him feel comforted and reassured whenever he's not feeling him self, she is hot, smart, lovely, and she was the only person who can make him lose his shit and he loved it..

Today he needed her comfort in more than one way~

This week, after a terrible failure in pranking Professor snape, george and fred got into a circle of troubles and a lot of annoying punishments, and apparently luck wasn't on their side today after getting caught reading through the forbidden books looking for a new inspiration for their next prank, y/n and everyone enjoyed teasing the twins in this unusual day for them...

"hello boys~ i guess being yelled at is not the best way to end the day" y/n said with a small giggle..

"yeah yeah, laugh all you want darling, I'm the one who is being yelled at after all" george said throwing himself next to her on the couch.

"THIS IS THE WORST DAY EVER!!" everybody turned as fred yelled through the common room following his twin angrily.

"really?! the forbidden books?? You guys like to get in trouble" lee jordan said mocking them and everyone laughed.

The twins kept rumbling and complaining about their bad luck and everybody continued talking about their day, y/n kept playing gently with george's hand to give him some comfort, eventually he lied down on her lap, relaxing while she played with his hair.

after some small chats, y/n noticed her big baby being weirdly quiet..

"georgie? Are you ok? " Y/n Whispered. george sighed dramatically as an answer.. She looked at his twin with a worried look. "don't worry hun, we skipped dinner and have been punished with alot of work, and we are waiting for our mother to be notified" fred explained with annoyance.

That didn't make her feel reassured but she sat quiet and played with george's hair..

few minutes later, she felt a small muffled sigh.. She whispered softly "george.. What's going on?" he didn't answer.. Y/n tilted her head softly to look at him.

"Let's go to my dorm, the girls will go out tonight and my bed is more comfortable than yours... How do you feel about that?". George -without an answer- stood up facing a way from everyone and started walking. Everybody looked as y/n waved to them goodbye and followed her boyfriend.

When they got a little further away from the rest, y/n stopped him and kissed his hand to get his attention. "george.. Can you tell me what's on your mind?"..

"nothing, i'm just tired" he said while looking away

Y/n hugged him quietly and he relaxed in her arms.. "It’s okay to feel like that, and even if your parents get mad at you, it won't last for long. Everything will be okay georgie, i promise." she looked at him, smile on her face and he felt a little bit lighter.

"i have an idea babe, would you care to listen?". George half-smirking looked at her curiously. "i think there might be leftovers in the kitchen, Shall we go check and charm some elves?"

The boy's face lit up with a smile, the idea of a small adventure, him and her? alone? george was excited~

They snuck into the kitchens and convinced the workers there to let them stay for a while, the two sat down talking and eating. It was like a cute lil date and it changed george's mood a little, but it was enough for her~

Now they're at y/n's dorm, george was nervously standing there while y/n took her books and notes away. It was his first time being alone with y/n in her room without the girls interrupting. She saw him just standing so she pushed the boy lightly to her bed and sat next to him..

He was filled with alot of emotions, he was tired, happy, nervous, and greatful for her,he love her right now even more but doesn't know how to expresses that. It was obvious that he isn't going to be relaxed at all. So she took the matter in her hands..

"look at me love, i know today wasn't the best, so please tell me what can i do to make my boy feel better? " she said while holding his face and looking at him with a gentle smile.

He avoided her gaze shyly and started mumbling about somethings y/n didn't hear so she got on top of him and kissed his lips and said "speak louder honey"..

Y/n smiled and got closer to his lips, whispered gently "yes georgie.. i'm sure" she kissed him softly and slowly..
