In writing "A Family's Guide to Critical Care," I drew from my mom's unexpected twelve week inpatient journey that resulted in her having a dozen surgeries including ECMO and a bilateral lung transplant. This experience profoundly shaped our lives and led me to write this guide to offer both practical advice and emotional support to families navigating the complex and often overwhelming world of critical care. It's about more than just medical details; it's about understanding the emotional landscape, advocating effectively, and finding some level of control through the uncontrollable. My hope is that this guide serves as a beacon for those who feel lost, providing clarity and support when it's needed most. This became the north start for me in founding LookDeep Health to help hospitals and provides be ever present for every patient.

Ever felt misunderstood? 💭✨

Betta fish are often labeled as aggressive, but that’s never been my experience. I’ve kept them with other fish 🐠💙, despite all the warnings, and time and time again, they’ve shown me something different—something gentler. They aren’t fighters by nature, just creatures responding to the world around them. And isn’t that true for so many of us?

It’s a lesson I’ve taken to heart in both life and art: don’t assume, don’t judge too quickly. There’s always more beneath the surface. That’s why bettas appear so often in my paintings 🎨🐟—they remind me to look past misconceptions and see the quiet strength in others. 💫
