This post is there to keep the basics of the worldbuilding in one place so you'll be able to find it easily!

So its a cyberpunk AU?

Well yes, but its not a Cyberpunk 2077 AU. So it doesn't take place in Night City or anything, and to be fully honest I've never played Cyberpunk 2077 or even the TTRPG its been inspired by. Its a cyberpunk au in the sense of its aesthetics and setting. Though, I did use some vocabulary from Cyberpunk 2077 in places because it was cool.

If anything I took more inspiration from Blade Runner and Shadowrun!

So its a Modern AU with no fantasy?

No not really, as i said I take inspiration partially from Shadowrun. So some of the fantasy races that exist in DND do exist in the AU. I'm not giving you the exact list (yet) but just know some have been replaced by humans or other things.

Some fantasy concepts such as magic have been replaced by technological equivalent but also there's a notion of some people being more connected to technology than others. You can kinda see that as magic and the weave I suppose lol.

So whats the setting then?

The AU takes place in the Megalopolis of Yvbranka, a massive city that spans several thousand square kilometers. It's divided in several districts but everyone technically lives in the same "city". We're somewhere in the range of the years 2050 to 2090.

Technology has invaded every aspect of life, megacorporations manage everything and body implants and mods are commonplace. A large Network similar to the Internet is accessible from almost anywhere and some would rather live in that Network than live in the realworld. Some also, are able to tune in to this network with way more ease than others, they're commonly called "Netrunners"

About 15 years ago one of the most famous hackers and Netrunners in the Megalopolis took her own life after completing what she considered her most ambitious project. There's rumors of her becoming one with the Global Network but no one's ever been able to track her down. She has, to this day, a cult following who refer to themselves as her "Church" and aim to find her and be one with her. Those lunatics are commonly reffered to as the "Cultists."

Lolth's projects

During her lifetime Lolth developped several programs and worked on various projects but only two are relevant to us for now.

Eilistra-EE : An AI dedicated to the safeguarding of data (as in making sure it isn't lost) and to ensuring the freedom of information. It is thought to be semi-concious/aware.

V-Raun: An AI Lolth created to erase any trace of her passage when jailbreaking into databases and doing her business in the Network. It acts as a malware and erases data everywhere it goes. Seems to have since developped some kind of conciousness as well.

Lore & Setting~

This blog is set after the events of Pokemon Conquest and long before the events of Pokemon Legends Arceus. The Kinoshita clan owns the territory between the borders of Daichi(Terrera) and Genmu(Illusio).

Harukichi was an ally of the Oda, before he decided to settle in Hisui, to live a peaceful life.

Pokeballs haven't been invented yet, so the 'mons are usually all over the house, hehe. The Galaxy Expedition team also hasn't arrived at Hisui.

I think this should be enough for now.

i don't know what it is about the fantasy high setting that drives me completely insane. the mall has an ice cream parlour owned by a djinn and a strudel place with direct supply from the strudel dimension. your gnome parents modified the lawnmower to have fun with their new "friends." death means nothing if you've got your spells prepared. generational curses that make your life miserable recognize that you're not the stepdad, you're the dad that stepped up. we wanted something else from our god, so we made her into something else. your wizard principal is on a time travel roadtrip with his half-phoenix daughter and spent an obscene amount of money on a jet ski. there's a strudel dimension.

i keep getting hung up on this line for some reason. something about Klavier saying he "deserved that much" is so heartbreaking to me. he's right- he does deserve a brother that actually cares about him. he does deserve a brother who won't use and manipulate him. he's not asking for much- just for his big brother to even attempt to meet him in the middle. and he's realizing that will never happen. and he's saying to Kristophs face- 'I deserved better. you were supposed to be a better brother'

olympics coming up…… athlete aus on the mind….. satoru as a swimmer….. unreasonably large wingspan…. huge hands..... thinks “official” competitions and tournaments are boring because he can’t use the goofy purple googly eyes goggles he likes to practice in…… practices at ungodly hours solely because he likes when the pool is empty because that means you’ll dip your feet in at the edge and be there to greet him with a kiss when he’s finished his laps….. they bring up the stats board and it’s just his name ten times before the next fastest person and he could still lap them, and even tho he’ll always put so much pressure on himself to be the best, it’s worth it to have you hold his face and tell him you’re proud of him... he’s gotten so much merch from events and sponsorships and he used to think they just created clutter but that all changes when you start to wear his clothes (esp the ones with his name on it… he’s not proud to admit that does Something to him)…. always looks up to the stands when he finishes a race and if he knows you’re not there, he looks right at the camera, draws an infinity sign with his fingers, and blows a kiss (which, some commentators routinely call “unsportsmanlike conduct��� but he doesn’t care, and always, publicly says he’ll pay the fees if it means blowing a kiss to his girl at home)

Somebody give me the rights to the LOTR cinematic productions so I can create a coming of age dramedy taking place during the seventeen years between Bilbo's 111th birthday party and Frodo leaving the Shire. I'd call it "The Shire Seventeen". It would not only include the Conspiracy as a backdrop but also a bunch of the development and growing up that was probably done within those seventeen years, that is entirely unrelated to the Ring.

It's a whole seventeen years worth of low-stakes hobbit Shire drama and shenanigans, guys-- I need that cozy comedy content.

I will say playing a DnD game set in Thedas is a great balm to the death of the series. The collaborative storytelling of ttrpgs is the closest thing I've gotten to how it feels to play Dragon Age.

I highly recommend anyone else who is missing the series try to organize a game to play with your other DA fans. Sheryl Chee said the series is ours now, and it really is.

Dragon Age has it's own ttrpg, but if your more familiar with 5e and want something similar, there are people who have worked on conversions. Tantervale 9:21 is a wiki for someone's personal 5e Dragon Age campaign, and they've been kind enough to give everyone access to their class and race conversions for 5e.

The best part is you get to choose what part of the world and what stories you want to focus on! It's a lot of fun.

a half-ghost--? no- no wait, that's a changeling. that's even worse.

so i'd like to preface this by saying this stems from me going entirely off the rails thinking about tales of the passerine-- which is frankly quite on brand for me to think of one au, and then develop it so far left ways that it makes another au entirely.

bUT. Context! Danny's ancestors sometime before they immigrated to America had a fae marry into the family. This had its Side Effects. Naturally. The Fentonnightengale responsible for this charmed a fae thanks to their swagless nature and awkward demeanor, so instead of getting eaten the fae thought it was cute instead. The fae marrying into the family had an affinity for music, but that kinda repressed itself by accident -- blame the salem witch trials.

By the time Danny is born, the fae blood has become so latent that it really doesn't show up anymore other than the Fentons Eccentricity and obsession with the supernatural (a latent desire to return home to the fae realm - aka infinite realms). There's an unnatural charm surrounding the fenton that really only creeps almost every human within a visual radius, and Danny is no exception.

hoWEVEr. the accident that turned danny into a halfa in one timeline did no such thing in this one -- it just reactivated his latent fae blood, and reactivated it with a fervor. Effectively turning Danny from a human into a changeling.

Danny just thinks at first that he's a half-ghost -- only to realize later on from Clockwork that he's not one at all. He's very much fae -- which is a wild discovery for Danny to make. It also means his rogues are quite a bit more intimidated by him. Fae are above ghosts in the Infinite Realm Creature Hierarchy, no matter how powerful they are. A fae can still Steal the name of a ghost, so Danny's rogues are rather skittish/unsure around Danny until they realize he doesn't know he's a changeling -- after that, many of them vow to try and keep it secret amongst themselves.

Danny's 'ghost' form is rather birdlike, and in human form his appearance warps to match his comfortability. When he's alone with his friends he starts taking on unnatural features. -- his blue-green eyes brighten and his pupils elongate, his teeth sharpen, and his ears grow longer and animal-like. His hair softens to be more feathery, his nails sharpen. In general he takes on more 'bird-ish' features. At school, around his parents, and when he's stressed, tense, or scared, he looks completely human -- an instinctual survival mechanism.

As a ghost, he has large, pretty wings that gradient from black to dark purple-blue, with a shimmer across the feathers that resembles the aurora borealis. His limbs elongate, his legs becoming bird-like and his talons grow on both his feet and nails. His ears vaguely resemble a rabbit's, although they don't flop down like one. All his teeth sharpen. Razor sharp chompers, capable of biting through bone. His eyes take on a greenish-hue, but otherwise remain the same color, albeit his sclera becomes blue-ish and his pupils become diamond-shaped and white. Rings of seafoam blue circle around his iris, creating a reflective sheen. He makes chirping, creaking noises, and when he speaks there's a faint overlap that is very enchanting.

Overall he's rather beautiful in a terrifyingly inhuman way, its hard to take your eyes off him. He has a lot of feathers. He's very drawn to singing and music in general, and gets into music sometime after his accident. He likes flutes/ocarinas/woodwinds the most, followed shortly after by strings, and then piano. He also slowly loses the ability to lie -- which is really annoying and also terrifying until he learns how to reword himself and become a better wordsmith.

SInce this stemmed from an older brother dpdc au, its gonna stay an older brother dpdc au alsfh. i'll just get to the dpxdc part in another post since i wanted to get this off my chest first
