ship of theseus but for comics, if you replace 90% of a character can it still be called that character? Or if you have a team and adapt that team but remove or change 90% of said team can it be an adaptation?

Watching The Marvels, it's fun and I really love Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan. However, I do have qualms about the MCU's recent trend of having Black actors like Zawe Ashton and Kingsley Ben-Adir play the villains of an imperialist alien race, while getting White actors to play the refugee alien race.

Occult, Aliens and Shifting Realities
Tumblr media
I don't really know where to begin...because I don't really share my spiritual journey on here much anymore. Even in the past I kept a lot private.
But I do talk about my journey as a reality shifter, on my main blog, and since it is now bleeding together (even though yes shifting is a spiritual practice) and some were curious I decided better late than never.
Not going to talk about anything that isn't shifting related though. But my MCU dr is starting to bleed into my cr, on a spiritual level. And what I mean by that is, no it's not psychosis don't even go there..., in The Underworld, the one I connect to anyway, the demons have been fighting these "beings" that look like metal Angels (silver, faceless, slight ability to morph but they're not very good at it yet, large metal "angel" wings) we originally thought they were from Heaven because att when they showed up, a year or two ago, I didn't know anything about shifting.
Recently they showed up again, after appearing in Asmodeus's club clearly after me, so I did a tarot reading to find out why they were here. At first I thought they were connected to my Starseed selves and they are but not via BTS like I thought (it's a long story) although I am fighting them both here, and in my MCUKpop dr.
I'm connected to them because of one of my MCU selves having Kree blood, but in the future we (SHIELD) already took care of The Kree or partly. Although one that's advanced tried to either kill me or subdue me I'm not sure, in a dream but Azrael saved me. (Yes that one)
So how are they getting here? Again not physically on earth but in the underworld. The Multiverse. Everyone in the MCU believes and knows about it, and as there are Hell Dimensions in there world all they had to do was create portals from there realities Hell to this one or use a monolith....Watch Agents of Shield to know what I mean!
Why would they? Well at first I thought it was because of Twin Flames (the fact that I have quite a few in other realities) and they want to gain knowledge & resources about emotions & love because they don't understand it. But taking by force & domination instead of compassion because Kree do not understand feelings!
As the Kree, royal or not, are mostly warriors and militaristic. But they can't figure out a way to get here so they are making these machines instead. Especially going after divine couples because they produce magical or Inhuman children.
I do still believe that, especially if we're talking about Taryan Kasius, but after doing another reading and his son Kassius showing up to me, I also think it's a personal to me.
Turns out I have a past life with Kassius, it wasn't the greatest but we were married (I was Sirian royalty) and I did help heal him and make him realize he's not like his Father. I also worked with or was allies with the demons back then though too and Kassius may have seen my closeness, especially with Asmodeus, as a threat. I believe his family influenced him, lied and said I was cheating on him with Az which was not true then.
Pretty sure Taryan doesn't like me because I made his son too "soft." He is probably the one that brought that shape shifter to kill me or capture idk. Thinking I would blame Kassius. But the Kassius that I have spoken to is either a past or present version and does not give off anything negative, he apologized for what happened in that life and for what may have happened in the MCU future (or an Alt Timeline) He knew that my other selves (Michiru & Lilianne) wouldn't believe him but he's hoping this version of me does. The one that's more connected to my starseed and demon selves.
I'm only hoping I can dissuade him into thinking that Asmodeus and I were anything romantic or sexual in that life and that his perception is wrong. Are we together now? yes...which may be a problem since the aliens, at least The Kree, don't have the best outlook on demons. But I suppose I'll figure that out when we get there, but hopefully they can stop attacking hell to get to me or because Kassius wants to fight Asmodeus....good luck with that.
Kassius has said he's still in love with me and that's why he's been trying so hard, I just feel like he might be jealous that I'm spoused to (this realities) Asmodeus now.
I do have a soft spot for Kassius so would prefer him not to die, the others...idc. Kassius and Sinara are like the expectations, the few good Kree still around. Taryan is like Thanos as far as how he sees' the world tbh. Also The Kree are cousins to the Polarians! (Polarians are way nicer)
But we do have the Alpha Centaurians and (I'm assuming) the Sirians on our side so that's something! Yondu over in my MCU dr has helped us out recently.

What if Episode 2
THERE ARE SO MANY EASTER EGGS! AND REFERENCES
Peggy and Howard being shook after seeing the winter soldier was crazy and then calling it rumour that it’s Bucky.
And Winter soldier talking felt a bit weird probably because he doesn’t, and mention of Steve! Howard talking with Bucky so that he doesn’t shoot Peter Quill was insane.
And then him saying that Cap is saving his ass ahaha
Hope and Peter getting to know each other was great too I honestly thought he might attack her.
The unlikely team up during the Cold War with the Russians ahaha
Hank, King T’Chaka, Wendy Lawson, Bill Foster and Thor
Th mention of teseract, Kree and Peter picking up the raccoon toy I mean love the details
Thor showing up? It was hilarious and Peter saying I’m Starlord that felt great and just blasted out Ego.
It felt good, avengers team up in the 80s

Space Adventure
I already saw The Marvels and it was pretty much exactly what I was hoping for - light, fast, fun. I will keep this vague since it's only Wednesday but it was really fun.
The action flows nicely and we get really cool dynamics between the three Marvels. I love Monica confronting Carol about her abandonment and it was refreshing that they didn’t let their issues distract them from the fight. I liked how Monica was the responsible adult and became the voice of reason. I loved how quickly she and Kamala fall into a big sister - little sister dynamic. And of course Kamala was the best one with enjoying the adventure and world saving. And fangirling over Carol. And then Monica. And of course Fury too (she’s basically going all Fury at the end). Also I loved their training montage.
I liked how Carol is confronted with her failure to deal with stuff that can’t be solved just by punching through things. She tries to fix it all alone because she broke it. But at every step she is shown she can’t really do it alone. She needs friends who can both help and call her on her bullshit - whichever she needs at the moment. And sometimes solve the issue because they have necessary abilities or capabilities. Not just Monica and Kamala but also Fury, Goose and a certain royal.
The villain of this is driven by hurt and anger and Carol is responsible for all of it. It's a classic story of good intentions gone horribly wrong because just kill the evil leader is rarely a solution that ends wars. Most civilisations are not Chitauri. Dar-Benn has some understandable goals but, as always happens in such cases, prioritising revenge doesn't end well. And hubris doesn't help either. Still, I could see why she would not want to believe any offer from Carol to be genuine. And it's nice of Marvel to give both Zawe Ashton and Tom Hiddlestone a big moment this week.
Also , there is a flerken bit that, for me, was alone worth the price of admission. It’s horror for the participants and it’s comedy for the audience and the music makes it so much better. I see myself watching it on repeat once it hits the internet.
You don’t need to watch any of the TV series (they catch you up on the important parts). Sure it’d be easier to care about Kamala’s family dynamics if you’ve seen Miss Marvel but even that is skippable. If you watched certain D+ series you’d also be more excited about one of the teasers at the end. For the other Multiverse of Madness is a template.

I loved The Marvels (2023) for it’s pure, unadulterated Agents of SHIELD energy
It gives the fun and games of season 1 with the wacky hijinks of seasons 5-7
All together - EXCELLENT!

How I'd Make The MCU: 2025's Captain Marvel
EXCEPT NOW ITS GOOD.
1. Carol Danvers is the Captain of the Damocles Base, which was Kang's mothership before SHIELD and later the UN took it over. They've been trying to figure out how it works, but it's 41st Century tech so they're efforts are the equivalent of a toddler figuring out the square doesn't go in the circle.
2. Her colleague and friend, Dr. Walter Lawson, is making surprisingly good headway in understanding how to operate the ship's AI. His explanation: "I have very intimate experience with artificial intelligences."
3. Suddenly, a Kree ship appears and attacks Damocles, base goes into panic mode, Kree board the ship, and Walter and Carol fight their way to safety, with Walter taking them into an escape pod to hide. However, Walter is critically injured and beings to bleed out. Before he dies, he explains to Carol he's not Walter, he's a Kree named Mar-Vell who was sent to Earth to investigate the planet. What he found, what he's protecting, is something the Kree CANNOT be allowed to find. "Carol, please promise me you'll find them and protect them," He says, "There's not much time. You have to go to the Fortress in the Desert, that's where you'll find them. I trust you Carol, to finish what I started." And with a final push he launches the pod back to Earth and while reentering he gives off a powerful wave of blue light, which transfers his powers to Carol.
4. Carol wakes up back on Earth, FLOATING IN THE AIR. Turns out, she landed in the Gulf of Mexico. She panics and when trying to get down she ends up flying into the coast of southern Louisiana. She goes to New Orleans to get her bearings, where she sees a news broadcast of how Damocles Base was attacked by an "unknown extraterrestrial craft" that left for no reason leaving the base in Earth's hands. When the news talks about Mar-Vell being dead, a patron calls him a bad name, her powers flare up unintentionally, and she ends up causing a big fight and winning.
5. She gets a car and makes her way to Baton Rouge, where she finds her friend Maria Rambeau, right now the one person she trusts. They talk, she reveals what happened to her and the new powers she has. Monica, Maria's daughter, reasonably thinks this is the coolest thing ever. After leaving Monica with the neighbors, Maria and Carol go on a road trip to get to "The Fortress in the Desert" Which they figure out means... Area 51.
6. While going through Austin, they get stopped by the cops. Maria assumes it's because SHE'S driving, but Carol begins seeing this strange aura around them. Turns out, that aura is her power to see Kree in disguise, and that's these cops. So Maria and her get into a car chase with the Kree's police cruiser undisguising into a super advanced space craft with Carol uses her powers to blow up.
7. They make it to New Mexico, and Carol is rightfully freaked out and confused. What was Mar-Vell hiding? How the hell does she use these powers? What does she have to finish?
8. They make it to Arizona, but now more Kree are here. Big fight over Hoover Dam but Carol and Maria are captured.
9. Carol is put into a machine that wires her into that "artificial intelligence" hinted at by Mar-Vell: The Supreme Intelligence. It interrogates her, demands she say where Mar-Vell is hiding "them" and why she helped him commit treason. She, of course, is clueless. So the Supreme Intelligence explains that Mar-Vell was harboring an evil alien race known as the Skrull, who infiltrate worlds and replace entire populations with their shapeshifting. She wants Carol to find these Skrull hidden on Earth and wipe them out to spare Earth the fate of so many planets.
10. Maria manages to escape her cell and find a gun, she then shoots her way to Carol, yanking her out of the wiring and they escape the Kree ship. They make it to Area 51 and find it's not staffed by any military, it's an automated system of disguised robots and automated turrets. Carol powers her way in and finds the Skrulls. Their leader, Talos, explains to Carol the truth. The Skrull's homeworld was conquered by the Kree Empire, and they have been living in diaspora across the galaxy, resisting the Kree wherever they could. Mar-Vell had hidden him in Area 51, a base he created disguised as a US Air Force base, and his group away until he could find them a planet they could settle on and rebuild their society.
11. Carol has a final battle with the Kree detachment to Earth, where her mid-fight second wind unlocks her full potential as in flying and going into space without a suit and all that cool stuff. The Kree retreat and after a heartfelt goodbye to Maria she goes off with the Skrull to find them a home.
12. Post-Credit scene is the Tesseract being given to Thor to take home to be housed safely in the vaults of Asgard.

I actually really enjoyed Zawe Ashton’s Performance as Dar-Benn in The Marvels!

I absolutely loved Zawe Ashton. Dar Benn was just a Kree solider and I think her storyline really reflected that. The movie was more about family and really REALLY cool action scenes. So they brought in a villain all Marvel fans should be familiar with aka the Kree empire and they made the face someone really awesome aka Zawe. So I was overall okay with the villain.

🌟💥👽 SECRET INVASION THEORY: Skrull in Disguise? 👽💥🌟
What if, and bear with me, Jemma Simmons from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been a Skrull this entire time? 🤯
"No way!" - you said.
Well, THEY'RE EVERYWHERE.
We know that the Kree have been conducting genetic experiments on humans throughout history, seeking to create powerful superhumans. What if Jemma's reaction to Skye's genetic change was her hatred to Kree's? Skrulls and Kree are in a constant war for millions of years, so "Jemma" discovers that a human she considers a friend is a product of her enemy's experiments? oof
Fury wasn't hesitant to use Skrulls as his personal spies, so why not put one on Coulsons' team?
Imagine the potential clash of loyalties within "Jemma" herself. If she's a Skrull, what was her mission prior to her learning about Inhumans? Will her experiences alongside S.H.I.E.L.D. teammates, her genuine affection for them would make her question her true allegiances? Would she defy the Skrulls and stand with her friend, fighting against the very beings her race sees as a means to an end?
Or did she played all of us all along?
