So, Black Widow is not an official Avenger yet. This is her first time helping the team. She as fought against them before, but this is her first time fighting alongside them.

In this first mission, she is threatening to kill a man. That is something you could not do if you were a hero in the 1960's. Heroes were not allowed to kill. If a villain died, it had to be by their own plan backfiring, giving kids a moral lesson about the dangers of being evil or something. So Black Widow being a hero and handing out death threats like this is very out there. Not only that, but these threats scare Ixar (an alien invader who beat up the rest of the Avengers) so bad he just gives up and goes home. Natasha broke the rules of family friendly comic making and saved the day because of it. Such a badass.

So, this really surprised me when I first stumbled across it. The two main super things people think of when they think of Cap is his super soldier super powers, and his indestructible shield. We've seen in earlier posts that he doesn't actually have any super soldier super powers yet (just really good training), but now we find out his shield isn't indestructible either! Both things are retconned in at a later date!

No comic today, but here is the promised character sketch!! This one shows Leon Nightshade before the events of his series on a flyer at the bottom, with how he currently looks depicted above (I forgot to give him a nose, ignore that part.). On his left is the Dream Eater, while Constantine looms on his right.

The flyer isn't something I mentioned in any of the comic scripts. I've been thinking about Leon a good bit these past few months and I think I started the series too late in Leon's story. One day I'll restart and include some chapters before the encounter with Dream Eater. In these early chapters, Leon would act almost like a sort of Saul Goodman type con man, using his light magic to convince people he's exorcising spirits and saving their souls. Leon would be cruising through life, feeling a little unfulfilled, but raking in a good chunk of money. This will all change once he encounters the Dream Eater of course.

Anyways, that's the drawing! I hope you liked it! There'll be another one next week!!
