Hey y'all! Do you have any recommendations for other plushie makers or designers with shops where I can buy their plushies?
#the person behind the yarn#every once in a while I like to buy plushies to learn how they were made#not to copy the patterns! not to take them apart!#just to look at them in person so I can see like. how the heck did they do that#and sometimes the answer is “embroidery machine” or “custom fabric” or “airbrushing” so I can't do it#but sometimes the answer is “elastic in the pig's tail” or “hidden ladder stitch in this section to make it turn”#and then I can take that tool and use it in the future to design other plushies#I assume other designers do that with my plushies?#like. there are plushie construction techniques I can learn just from looking at a picture of a finished plushie sometimes#some of them I keep and some of them get added to my stash of 'future baby shower presents'#and I am about to pretty much clear off the shelf where I keep them#because I like to send plushies for the older siblings too when I send baby gifts to people I know#which means this latest round of baby blankets will go out with SIX plushies#so I have space! and I want to see about getting a few more plushies over time#and one of them is a seagull from a major brand because it makes me laugh and also I want to see how they did the beak#but I also like to drag out the plushie selecting process over days. it's fun! gives me something to look forward to!#and I will not be buying six plushies at once (that's expensive) so I will have something to look forward to again in the future! :D

Who is Bláthnaid youve been Bláthnaid posting recently who is she?
Girl (gender-neutral) in my noggin <3
#sometimes you go 'hm well ive questioned whether im plural/a system for a multitude of reasons but its probs nothing <3'#and then your mental dialogue begins containing a worrying amount of chanting that 'my name is blaithnaid my name is blaithnaid'#and if it were chanting a male name you could put it down to genderisms#but eimear and blaithnaid are both girl names so its not that#so u just gotta accept u have a very insistent voice in yr head#and then when u say 'its ok u dont have to show yourself if u dont want' your body untenses by itself#so she seems to have at least some external control#and then u spend the next 2 months questioning your entire thought process. cheers blaithnaid. communication is hell#dropping all pretenses: ive been trying out a framework where Me is not a singular construct but instead a collection of parts#by observing noticeable shifts in my demeanor and thinking in order to learn about the cogs that make up my machine#and its hard because they want to be a machine. and because I am the product of the machine#there might not be a me-shaped cog at all. in which case its difficult to interface with the cogs as the product#because we live on different planes. plus yknow all the repression and avoidance of introspection ive been doing#this metaphor is potentially more confusing than what it started with. uhhh morethanone.info < website that may be relevant#although i dont find myself fitting the typical mould (no memory barriers and getting an identity out of these cogs is like pulling teeth)#(which contributes to the idea that this is entirely an artificial construct of my creation as opposed to an observation of a natural state)#(to which i am choosing to ignore ^_^ or maybe go Well does it matter if its fake if it works)#idk. follow-up questions welcome. blaithnaids not the only one with a name but a lot of them are hard to spot and thus name

Gendering war machines was not really something most human developers ever cared about. Machines would typically be referred to as an it (something the terminals do in Ultrakill) or maybe a they.
But, given that the vast majority of machines have the capacity for higher thought, most of them could also have feelings about their gender. It's reasonably likely many of them were fine with it/its or they/them or a mix of the two, but some veered toward more "traditionally" gendered pronouns.
Mirage (as far as her main verse goes) is among that number. She didn't particularly explore it until after she had more-or-less been allowed into society, but she already had very strong feelings about wanting to be seen as a person and thus did not want to be referred to as an it. They/them was fine, but... she wasn't especially attached.
She tried out a few different options before eventually settling with she/her. Mirage was already finding herself drawn to wearing skirts, dresses, and ribbons; she wanted to be seen as pretty. And while prettiness and general femininity didn't demand the usage of the pronouns, of course, it just all seemed to work together well.
Prettiest girl in town has a nice ring to it, anyway.
#[ sunshine ] - mirage / headcanon#[ ooc ] // there's probably some machines that were referred to by some engineer as she/her without input#[ ooc ] // but in the way a car or boat is she/her#[ ooc ] // also this is not to say she disrespects anyone who uses it/its! she'll use it for another if that's what it wants#[ ooc ] // just ain't for her because she has a lot of feelings about being treated as a Thing and none are good#[ ooc ] // btw i don't know a lot about the trans experience tbh being cis so... feel free to come with constructive criticism!#[ ooc ] // might not Know much as-is BUT. i am always willing to learn.#[ all-imperfect love song ] - mirage

Typical Detail: RC Slab Drop Panel 典型细节: 钢筋混凝土板 Drop Panel by Sonetra KETH

Drop panels are reinforced concrete extensions around the top of shear walls, columns, or heavily loaded areas. They are critical elements in seismic and load-resistant structural design. Slab drop panels are thickened areas around columns in flat slab construction, increasing shear strength and enabling the slab to support greater loads. This feature is typical of flat slab systems, which are two-way reinforced structures.
Drop Panels are needed because:
Shear and Moment Resistance: They enhance the capacity of vertical structural elements (shear walls or columns) to resist bending moments and shear forces, especially at the critical junctions (e.g., wall-column interfaces).
Reduce Stress Concentrations: Drop panels distribute concentrated shear and axial loads more evenly into the foundation or diaphragm, preventing stress concentrations and potential structural failure.
Increase Structural Rigidity and Stability: They improve the overall stiffness and robustness where high load or seismic forces are expected, especially in high-rise or seismic zones.

Much engineering judgment is required to reach a sound conclusion on the allowable movements that can be safely tolerated in a tall building. Several factors need to be taken into account. These are:
Type of framing employed for the building
Magnitude of total as well as differential movement
The rate at which the predicted movement takes place
Type of movement, whether the deformation of the soil causes tilting or vertical displacement of the building
Every city has its own particular characteristics regarding the design and construction of foundations for tall buildings, which are characterized by the local geology and groundwater conditions. Their choice for a particular project is primarily influenced by economic and soil conditions, and even under identical conditions, it can vary in different geographical locations. In this section, a brief description of two types, namely, the pile and mat foundations, is given, highlighting their practical aspects.

Amazing Architecture: Generative AI Creates Eco-Friendly Buildings By Daniel Reitberg
A powerful new tool called generative AI is making the future of building look greener. By looking at things like how much energy a building uses and what resources it uses, these AI models are changing the way sustainable buildings are designed. In this way, they can not only make buildings that are good for the environment, but also ones that are new and look good.
Imagine a building that gets all of its light from the sun during the day, so it doesn't need any extra lighting. Generative AI can make buildings that get the most sunlight, which means they use less power. These models can also look at wind patterns to help make natural air systems that are even better for the environment.
The cool thing about generative AI is that it can look into a huge design space. Traditional methods may limit the choices that can be made, but AI can create a huge number of options, some of which may be breakthroughs that were not expected. This makes long-term answers possible that may not have been thought of before.
Remember that generative AI isn't here to take the place of builders. Instead, it gives them the freedom to explore new design ideas and make buildings that are useful and good for the environment. AI can give architects more choices, and they can then use their knowledge to narrow down the choices and pick the most environmentally friendly and physically pleasing design for a given project. Generate AI is a strong tool that could change how we plan and construct a more environmentally friendly future.
