Contenders and Rules can be found here. Next week will have no poll, just because of IRL conflicts. The next Dreamworks poll will release on 12 December 2023.
(Also feel free to add in the tags or notes whether I should still keep running the Dreamworks Tournament separate from the Illumination Tournament in the coming years)
EDIT: The conflicts have changed, so I will hold the next poll next week!
I admit, a large reason behind this strange comic was my desire to see have the KND emulate the penguins of Madagascar, due to sheer curiosity. Interestingly enough, they were originally envisioned as side characters in an older pitch of Warburton’s which never got past the pilot stage. So this was my way of trying to convey that idea.
Thanks for listening to my ramblings. Last page coming soon.
One is mine, and the other is my sister’s. Let’s see if you, my dear followers/mutuals, know me well enough to tell which is which. No this is not a trick question.
One thing that I think gets often overlooked in discussions about Madagascar 3 are the colors. Each location is visually distinct, yet still has fantastic coloration.
The circus scenes especially have such stunning, vibrant hues that really tie the whole scene together.
As much as I love Madagascar 2, whenever I think back to it each scene tends to blend together since the majority of the film utilizes the same shades of yellow, green, and brown.
That's not me trying to put down Madagascar 2, however, as it's a fantastic film in its own right. All I'm saying is I just can't help gushing about how gorgeous each and every scene is in the third film.
Please I will never recover from that post where someone made an entire powerpoint about who would win in a fight between Will Graham and Chantel Dubois
Capitaine Chantel DuBois (Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted)
"Chantel Dubois is not human, Chantel Dubois is an unstoppable force of nature willing and able to girlboss her way across a continent just to get the head of this one specific lion. She is part of Monaco animal control, she has a superhuman sense of smell, her wall is adorned with the heads of previous animals she's hunted and killed and just watch her first chase scene."
Hunter (Hollow Knight)
"As his name implies, hunting is his Whole Deal. He gives the player character the Hunter’s Journal, which unlocks his notes after you kill enough of a type of enemy. This encourages players to try and kill everything, to hunt down certain types of enemies, to wipe out creatures that aren’t even a threat to you. Also every note is about how fun hunting is and how much he loves Killing Murdering everything."
So apparently one of the writers for Barbie was the director of A Marriage Story.
I'm sorry, what?
This is Noah Baumbach. He wrote and directed A Marriage Story, which is one of the most compelling and heart-wrenching movies I've ever watched. And he is dating...
Greta Gerwig, writer and director of Barbie. The two wrote the film during COVID, and somehow these brilliant dramatic writers came up with the idea of a shot-for-shot remake of the opening to 2001: A Space Odyssey, except with four-year-old girls, baby dolls, and Margot Robbie.
That's not as weird as it gets. Because it turns out that this man was also a writer on Madagascar 3 (Not any of the other Madagascars, mind you, SPECIFICALLY Madagascar 3) and The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
