Deep beneath the ground is a bustling city inhabited by dark elves, who prefer to dwell in the darkness. Although this city is large, the native dark elves do not take kindly to visitors.
This city block features a set of buildings divided by a small underdark river. Mostly residential buildings sprinkle this neighborhood, with the exception of a temple to the Spider Queen, a prison, a bathhouse, an inn, and some artisan stores. A public flogging square/marketplace is also present in the northwest part of this neighborhood.
This map pack features Shadowfell, Hell, Haunted, Aboveground, and Mushroom variants. Foundry VTT modules with pre-built walls and lighting are available to patrons. Enjoy!

We Don't Gatekeep Art Resources | A Comprehensive List
Here's a list of some of the tools/sites I currently use or have used previously for works/studies. I'll separate it into Software/Utility, Reference, and 'Other' which will be just general things that could help you map out things for your experience with art. **[Free highlighted in pink, paid highlighted in green. Blue is variable/both. Prices Listed in USD]**
Software/Utility:
2D
Krita Painting app (PC) (my main digital art software on PC for 5+ yrs)
Clip Studio Paint [PC] [CSP 2.0+ allows for 3d modelling within the painting app and a lot of other cool features] [apparently allows up to 6 months free trial]
Procreate (12.99) [iPad/iPad Pro] (the GOAT)
Artstudio Pro [iPad/iPad Pro] (An alternative to Procreate if you enjoy the more traditional art app layout) -- I find this app handy when Procreate is lacking a feature I need, or vice versa. (you can easily transfer files between the two, but keep in mind Procreate's layer limit)
2D "Collaborative Painting/Drawing apps"
Magma Studio
Drawpile
Discord Whiteboard
Gartic Phone (Pretty decent for 2d animation practice, but has a hard limit on frames)
3D
Blender [3D Modelling, Sculpting + Layout] (PC)
Sculptris [PC] (it's an old unsupported version of Zbrush, but can help to get ideas out, and functions better than browser sculpting apps
Nomad Sculpt [iPad/iPad Pro] ($20) Works pretty well if you prefer a mobile setup, but it is a bit intense on the battery life and takes some getting used to
References + Study
Magic Poser [ PC and Mobile ] Has both free and paid versions, I've made do with just the lite version before
Artpose ($9.99) [Iphone + Steam]
Head Model Studio [IPhone] A 3D head, with both a basic blockout version for angles, and a paid version with more detail
Cubebrush [simply search "[keyword] pose reference pack"], they usually have good results + they frequently have sales!
Line of Action [Good for Gesture practice + daily sketching], also has other resources built in.
Quickposes Similar to Line of action, more geared toward anatomy
Drawabox | Perspective Fundamentals Improvement modules (Suggested by @taffingspy )
Sketchfab, this skull in particular is useful, but there is other models that can help you study anatomy as well.
Pinterest can be good, you just have to be careful, usually you're better off just finding reference pack if you have the money, sometimes certain creators have freebies as well
Artstation Marketplace can be decent [make sure to turn on the Aye-Eye filter so it doesn't feed you trash], a colleague of mine recommended this head model for practicing facial blocking, there is also this free version without lighting.
Local Art Museums [Unironically good for studying old "master work" if you're into that, or even just getting some inspiration]
Brushes + Other Useful software:
I personally have used both of these brush packs before making my own
(I actually don't know how to share my daily brush set because I frequently switch between Krita, Procreate, and ASP, but once I figure that out I'll be sure to do that lol)
Marc Brunet's Starter brush pack [Technically free but supporting him for this if you like it is ideal, there's some good brushes]
Dave Greco Brush Pack [$3]
Gumroad in general is a good place to find brushes and art resources. *Note; for Krita specifically, brush packs are a bit weird, so it may require you to find different packs, or import them in a particular way
PureRef [PC] - Reference Compiler/Moodboarding
VizRef ($3.99) [iPad] - Moodboarding/Reference Compiler
Artist Youtubers/Creators that helped me improve/guide me along as a self-taught artist from when I first started digital art to where I am today:
Proko
Marco Bucci
Sinix Design
Sycra
Hardy Fowler
Lighting Mentor
Winged Canvas
Moderndayjames
Swatches
Chommang_drawing
Marc Brunet (YTartschool)
+ Observing a lot of speedpaint art by people whose work I enjoy on social media/youtube, trying to dissect their processes
If you've gotten this far, first of all, congrats, you can read a lot, and second of all, thank you for reading and I hope this helps! I'll continue to come back and update this if I find any new resources in the future, or if my processes change :)
Much Love,
-Remidiy

"Touch Without Words"
(Kylo Ren x Reader)
Tumblr media
You saw him first in the marketplace — black robes like liquid shadow, helmet glinting under the twin suns. Everyone else stepped back. You didn’t. Maybe it was foolish. Maybe it was fate.
He stopped in front of your small booth, eyes hidden behind the mask, and said nothing. You could feel the cold hum of the Force in the air, the weight of him pressing on the world around you. But it wasn’t threatening. Not exactly.
“You’re not afraid,” he said at last, voice modulated but unmistakably intrigued.
You shrugged. “Should I be?”
A pause. “Most are.”
“Most don’t see the way you hesitate.”
He said nothing, but you felt it — that shift in the air, like the moment before a storm breaks. Then, just as suddenly, he was gone.
He came back a week later. No words. No threats. Just standing there, watching you sort through old star maps and relics no one else wanted. He returned again after that. And again. Always silent, always watching. Until one evening, when the suns had dipped low and you were alone, he spoke.
“I feel… calm. When I’m here.”
You glanced up at him. “Even in your mind?”
He stiffened. “You felt that?”
“I’m not Force-sensitive. But I feel you.” You paused, then added, “You brush against me like a whisper when you think I’m not paying attention.”
Silence. Heavy, tense, uncertain. Then: “I didn’t mean to.”
“But you don’t stop.”
He took off his helmet for the first time that day. Underneath it all, he looked... young. Haunted. Human.
His voice, when he spoke again, was quieter. “I don’t know who I am when I’m with you.”
You stepped closer, heart pounding. “Maybe that’s the real you.”
He stared at you like you were a puzzle no one had ever solved — and maybe he wanted you to be the one who could. Slowly, carefully, he reached out with one gloved hand and touched your face. Cold leather met warm skin.
“You don’t flinch,” he whispered.
“No,” you breathed. “I never did.”
That night, he didn’t speak again. He just sat beside you under the stars, your shoulders barely touching, the silence between you full of everything he couldn’t say.
Because even Kylo Ren — even Ben Solo — knew some things were too sacred for words.

-----
The Twin Suns of Tatooine bore down upon the dusty streets of Mos Espa, their scorching heat making the air shimmer. The usual bustle of merchants, spice traders, and bounty hunters filled the marketplace, but Y/N L/N wasn't here for casual shopping. No, she had her eyes set on something far more valuable, something that could fetch her a fortune in credits.
Perched on a rooftop, her piercing eyes locked onto the beskar-clad warrior strolling through the crowd below. By his side, snug inside a floating pram, was the odd little creature everyone in the underworld had been whispering about. Small, green, big ears, some thought it was a myth, a legend. But Y/N? She saw an opportunity.
"Alright, Dexter." She whispered to the monkey perched on her shoulder. "That thing has gotta be worth a fortune. I mean, look at it! You ever seen anything like it before?"
Dexter chattered in response, tilting his head.
"Exactly." Y/N smirked, gripping the handle of her blaster gun. "If we pull this off, we'll be set for months."
She waited for the perfect moment. The Mandalorian was distracted, talking to a vendor about supplies. The pram hovered just within reach, and with a quick flick of her wrist, she sent a small, spherical device rolling toward it. A pulse of blue energy surged out, an electromagnetic disruptor.
The pram powered down.
And Y/N immediately struck like the sneaky thief she is.
With a speed honed from years of heists and escapes, she leaped down, scooping the tiny green creature into her arms. Dexter scrambled onto her shoulder, and before anyone could register what had happened, she was already bolting through the alleyways.
But she underestimated one thing.
The Mandalorian.
-----
“Dear Maker, even though I don’t know what species you are, you’re probably the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. No offense to you, Dexter.”
Y/N L/N couldn’t help chuckle mischievously to herself as she cradles the small green weird looking foundling in her arms and even hands him some candies that she manages to steal from a nearby vendor. Well it seems like the little foundling is thoroughly entertained at the moment and was enjoying every candy given to him, completely unbothered by the fact that he’s getting kidnapped. Meanwhile Y/N’s monkey companion, Dexter, was perched on top of her shoulder, chittering excitedly upon the success of their mission.
At first glance, the child didn't look like much, small, green, big ears, but Y/N had stolen and traded enough rare creatures to know that appearances could be deceiving. If the rumors were true, this thing was worth more credits than she could count.
Sliding down the side of the building, she moved swiftly through the shadows, timing her steps with the hum of passing speeders. She continues to walk back to her own speeder to quickly flee the scene and return back to her employer and deliver the target so that she can finally get her hands on those credits she so desperately needs to buy those golden blaster guns she’s been eyeing on the market.
"Easy pickings." She murmured, reaching out to start her speeder…
And suddenly, a gloved hand clamped around her wrist.
A wave of alarm shot through her as she turned, coming face to face with a beskar-clad warrior. "You really don't want to do that." Came the modulated voice from behind the helmet.
Y/N barely had time to react before he wrenched her away from the speeder, twisting her arm just enough to make her loosen her grasp around the little green foundling in her arms.
"Ow, ow! Okay, okay!" She winced, glaring up at him. "Didn’t your mother teach you to be gentle with a lady?"
The Mandalorian said nothing, but his grip remained firm.
Grogu cooed, blinking up at her, and Dexter hissed from her shoulder, baring his tiny teeth and trying to swat at the bounty hunter in front of them.
The Mandalorian sighed. "You brought a monkey to steal from me?"
Y/N huffed. "He's more competent than half the bounty hunters I've met."
A tense silence stretched between them before Y/N attempted to yank herself free. No luck. "Look, no harm done, right?" She grinned, though she was already considering her next escape move. "Just a misunderstanding."
The Mandalorian didn't let go. "Who sent you?"
"Wouldn’t you like to know." She shot back. "Now, if you’ll kindly release me, we can both pretend this little incident never happened."
He didn’t reply. Instead, he reached for a pair of cuffs on his belt.
"Seriously?" Y/N groaned. "You’re gonna turn me in? You know, for someone with a shiny tin can for a face, I expected a little more fun."
The Mandalorian tilted his head slightly. "You tried to steal my kid."
"Hey! In my defense, I thought he was some rare treasure! And I was just following orders!"
The Mandalorian sighed, clearly unimpressed.
Y/N watched as he weighed his options. He could arrest her, sure, but she was slippery, she'd gotten out of tougher spots before. So she tried a different tactic. She then suddenly whistles at her monkey companion, who on cue immediately jumps onto the Mandalorian’s face to obscure his vision while she makes her escape from his grasp. Once free, Y/N secures the little foundling in her arms as she begins weaving her way through the crowds in the market to try and escape from the bounty hunter clad in beaker armor.
The Mandalorian then grabs a hold of the small monkey by the scruff of its neck and holds him at arm’s length, as it continues to claw at him, trying to escape from his grasp. He then looks over the crowd, trying to spot wherever that sneaky little thief went with his kid. Good thing his tracker has already tracked down her location so he wouldn’t have a hard time tracking her down and wouldn’t escape with Grogu. With the struggling little monkey in his grasp, he gently puts him into his satchel and even gives him some biscuits to keep him occupied before chasing after its owner and getting back his son.
-----
“Seems like we finally lost that loser.” Y/N couldn’t help but chuckle to herself as she continues to worm her way through the crowd, even managing to steal a cloak to wrap her figure, in an attempt to blend in and hide the little foundling in her arms.
“So, what exactly are you, huh?” She mused, gently tapping her fingers against the foundling’s forehead. But the small baby merely blinks up at her with his wide innocent eyes, continuing to nibble on the cookie that she handed to him moments ago before the Mandalorian found them. The little creature cooed in delight, nuzzling further into her warmth and comfort, clearly enjoying her company.
Y/N sighed, rubbing the back of her head. “Ugh, I dunno what I expected. Maybe some ancient relic? A legendary beast? But you’re just... a baby?” The foundling simply gurgled, reaching out towards her face with tiny fingers. “Great.” She groaned out. “You’re cute. That’s gonna make this harder.”
Y/N soon enters another secret hideout of hers as she tries to plan on how to get out of this damn planet and deliver wherever this foundling was to her employer and get her credits. She soon settles the little foundling on the worn out wooden table as she gives him the remaining bag of cookies to keep him occupied while she tries to pack whatever remaining supplies she has left hidden in the room.
But before she could think too much about it…
BOOM.
The door burst open.
A tall, armored figure stepped inside, blaster raised. The air practically crackled with tension.
“You made a mistake.” The Mandalorian said, voice laced with cold fury.
Y/N barely had time to react before a grappling cable shot out, wrapping around her wrist. With a yank, she was pulled forward, crashing onto the ground. "Ugh! Rude!" she hissed, rolling to dodge his next move. Whipping out her own blaster, she fired off a quick shot, but—pew!—it deflected harmlessly off his beskar.
"Seriously?" She groaned. "That's just unfair."
Dexter screeched once again in the Mandalorian’s satchel before leaping at his helmet and clawing at the visor to try and stop him from attacking his owner. The Mandalorian barely flinched this time. With practiced ease, he grabbed the monkey by the scruff and held him at arm’s length. “I’m getting tired of this.” He growled.
Y/N seized the distraction, kicking up at his legs and scrambling to her feet. She grabbed the little foundling from the table and held him close. "Okay, okay!" She panted. "Let’s not do anything crazy. Maybe we can cut a deal?"
The Mandalorian took a step forward. "There is no deal."
Y/N frowned, glancing down at the foundling. His big eyes stared up at her, completely trusting. She sighed, muttering under her breath, “Why do you have to be so cute?”
Then, much to her own surprise, she carefully held him out.
"Take him," she said reluctantly. "I wasn’t gonna hurt him anyway."
The Mandalorian hesitated. He hadn’t expected her to give up so easily. Slowly, he reached out, taking the foundling into his arms. The child cooed, grabbing onto the beskar plating of his armor.
For a moment, there was silence.
Then….
"You know, I could be useful to you." Y/N said smoothly. "I know how to get into places others can’t. I steal things for a living. And let’s be honest, one bounty hunter against the whole galaxy? Kinda lonely, huh?"
The Mandalorian was silent for a long moment. He then tilted his helmet slightly. "You tried to steal my kid."
"Eh." Y/N shrugged. "Semantics."
He sighed. This woman was trouble. But something told him he hadn’t seen the last of her. "You're coming with me." He tells her before settling the foundling back in his floating pram, tucking him in with his fluffy blanket.
Y/N blinked in surprise. "Wait, what?" Her monkey companion, Dexter, soon escapes from the Mandalorian as he scurries towards her and climbs onto her shoulders to seek comfort after he was practically held hostage by the bounty hunter.
"I could use someone with your... talents." He admitted.
She smirked. "Well, well. Guess I made an impression."
The foundling cooed again in his pram with a mouthful of cookies, and Dexter let out a triumphant chirp on her shoulder as he lightly tugs on her hair.
Y/N dusted herself off, picking up her blaster. "Alright, Mando, you got yourself a deal. But just so we’re clear, I'm not taking orders."
The Mandalorian turned and started walking with the pram following him in tow. "We'll see about that." And with that, he left the now wrecked hideout to walk back to the market to continue shopping for his supplies back in his space shuttle before taking on another bounty mission.
Y/N watched him go, a slow grin spreading across her lips.
Maybe this job wasn’t a total bust after all.
-----
The twin suns of Tatooine still hung high in the sky, casting long shadows over the bustling marketplace. Merchants called out their wares, Jawas scuttled about trading scraps, and the air carried the thick scent of roasted meat and engine oil. The Mandalorian, walked steadily through the crowd, Grogu nestled safely in his pram once more. His gloved fingers clenched slightly as he adjusted his belt, still irritated by the earlier encounter.
A lesser bounty hunter might have learned their lesson.
But Y/N?
She was not a lesser bounty hunter.
She had slipped out of her ruined hideout, strolling right alongside him like they were old friends. Dexter clung to her shoulder, his tiny hands fiddling with the ends of her hair. “So.” Y/N said casually, hands clasped behind her back. “How about this, you and me, partners in crime? No offense, Dexter.”
Dexter let out a tiny offended chitter before pulling on her hair.
Mando didn’t even spare her a glance. “Not interested.”
“Come on.” She nudged his arm, well, his beskar, so it was more like a light tap against steel. “We work well together! You tracked me down, I got a solid escape plan, sure, you ruined it, but let’s not dwell on the past.”
“You stole my kid.”
“Okay, yeah, that, but hear me out. I was going to sell him…”
Mando stopped dead in his tracks. His helmet turned toward her in a way that screamed danger as he directed Grogu’s pram behind him and far away from her grasp just in case.
Y/N raised her hands. “Was being the keyword! But then I thought, ‘hey, he’s adorable, I can’t do that!’ So technically, I’m a good person.”
Silence.
“...Dexter, back me up here.”
Dexter let out a completely unhelpful snicker before pulling on her hair once more, making her wince in pain.
Mando sighed and kept walking.
Y/N groaned, jogging to keep up. “Okay, fine. You don’t wanna be partners? Then I’ll just have to steal Grogu again until you agree.”
That finally got him to stop.
A chill ran up Y/N’s spine when she realized she was suddenly very, very close to the barrel of a blaster.
“I wouldn’t.” Mando’s voice was dangerously low.
Y/N swallowed, taking half a step back and raising her hands in defense to show she’s just kidding. “Suuuure. I totally won’t try again. Nope. Never. Forget I even said that.”She turned her head slightly. “Dexter, we’re not gonna try again.”
Dexter nodded.
Then crossed his fingers behind his back.
-----
Mando resumed his business, stopping by a parts vendor to inspect some ship components.
Y/N, meanwhile, was still following him.
“Listen, just think about it. You and me, two highly-skilled individuals who…"
“No.”
“...complement each other’s strengths…"
“No.”
“...Dexter makes three, we’re basically a dream team…"
“No.”
“Okay, why not?”
Mando finally turned to face her. “You’re reckless, impulsive, and untrustworthy.”
Y/N put a hand to her chest in mock offense. “Wow. Say it again but with some affection this time.”
Mando exhaled, clearly tired of her antics. Grogu, meanwhile, peered up from his pram and giggled, his tiny hands reaching toward Y/N, who thought was trying to comfort her when in reality the little foundling merely wants more cookies. Where are the cookies? Give him the cookies.
“Awww, he likes me.” She cooed. “See? Even the baby wants me around.”
Mando wasn’t convinced. He turned back to the vendor, exchanging credits for a spare part.
Y/N crossed her arms, tapping her foot impatiently. “Alright, fine. Since you clearly need more proof, let’s do a little test. We’ll have a contest.”
Mando didn’t even acknowledge her.
Y/N grinned. “We’ll see who’s better at stealing.”
That got his attention.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me.” She pointed at a fruit stall across the way. “I bet I can steal something before you even notice.”
Mando stared at her, unimpressed.
And then she vanished.
For someone so chatty, Y/N was surprisingly stealthy. Mando’s visor scanned the crowd, his instincts sharp, but she was good.
Too good.
Grogu blinked, tilting his little head.
And then…
Something was missing.
He turned slightly and realized his belt felt lighter. His hand shot down. His credits were gone. And standing five feet away, holding them with the biggest smug grin on her face, was Y/N. Dexter sat on her shoulder, flipping a credit in his tiny hands.
Mando stiffened.
"See?" Y/N smirked, tossing the pouch up and down. "I told you we’d make a great team."
Mando took one slow, deliberate step toward her.
Y/N’s eyes widened slightly.
“Wait, wait, I was gonna give it back…”
In an instant, Mando moved.
Y/N practically screeched, ducking as he lunged for her. She bolted through the marketplace, weaving through the crowd, laughing like a maniac as Dexter clung to her back.
Mando was right behind her.
“Oh, come on!” Y/N called over her shoulder. “You’re really gonna chase me over a couple credits? I was making a point!”
Mando wasn’t playing games.
Y/N skidded around a corner, narrowly avoiding a fruit cart. “Fine! Fine! You can have ‘em back!” She tossed the pouch behind her. Mando caught it mid-air without slowing down.
But she was still running.
And Mando was still chasing.
-----
The chase ended when Y/N took a sharp turn into a narrow alley, only to come face-to-face with a dead end.
"Ah. Well, this is unfortunate." She muttered. She turned around just in time to see Mando blocking the only exit.
His blaster was already drawn.
Dexter let out a small nervous eep and hid behind her head.
Y/N raised her hands. "Sooo, we had fun today, huh?"
Mando took a slow step forward. "You’re not stealing from me again."
She sighed dramatically. "Alright, alright, I concede. No more stealing." She paused, then smirked. "From you."
Mando didn’t lower his weapon.
"Unless, of course." She continued. "I technically work with you?"
Mando tilted his head.
"I mean, think about it. You know I’m good. I’m sneaky, resourceful, and let’s be honest, you need someone who can handle the more… morally flexible side of things." She wiggled her fingers. "And I promise, I won’t even try to steal the kid again. Pinky swear."
Mando considered her for a long moment. Grogu cooed from the pram, peeking around the corner like he was waiting for Mando’s answer. Finally, he sighed, holstering his weapon.
"You follow my rules."
Y/N gasped dramatically. "Oh my stars, was that a yes?"
He ignored her and started walking back toward the main street.
Y/N grinned, skipping after him. "You won’t regret this, Mando."
Something in his silence told her he probably would.
-----
The Razor Crest rumbled to life, its engines flaring as it ascended from Mos Espa’s landing port. Inside, the dimly lit cockpit held an air of begrudging companionship. Mando sat in the pilot’s chair, focused on setting their course to Nevarro. Grogu was nestled in his usual spot, cooing happily as he clutched a small cookie pack that he practically had to use the Force to steal from Y/N’s satchel.
And then, of course…
There was Y/N L/N.
And Dexter.
Currently, Dexter was gleefully munching on a handful of dried meiloorun slices.
Meiloorun slices that Mando did not intend to purchase.
Y/N was reclined in the co-pilot’s seat, boots propped up, casually flipping through a handful of credits she’d somehow managed to swindle back from Mando after their little marketplace fiasco. “Y’know. She drawled, flicking a credit between her fingers. “If you’re running low on credits, we should definitely get a bounty with a high payout.”
Mando tightened his grip on the ship’s controls. “I wouldn’t be running low if you hadn’t…”
“...practically forced you to buy treats for Dexter?” Y/N finished, not looking the slightest bit guilty. “Yeah, yeah. But look at him! Look how happy he is.”
Mando did not, in fact, look.
Y/N turned her head toward the monkey on her shoulder. “Aren’t you happy, Dex?”
Dexter made a very satisfied little noise, stuffing another piece of fruit into his mouth.
Y/N smirked. “See? Worth it.”
Mando sighed. Loudly.
“I don’t even know why I let you come.” He muttered.
“Oh, Mando~” Y/N sighed dramatically, placing a hand over her chest. “You act all gruff, but deep down, I know you’d miss me if I wasn’t here.”
He absolutely would not.
Because he just met her.
Like just this morning.
And he barely knows her.
She grinned, clearly not believing his silence.
Mando flipped a few switches, preparing for hyperspace. “Nevarro has jobs. We’ll grab a bounty and get moving.”
Y/N perked up. “Finally. Action! Excitement! Danger! Money!”
Mando turned toward her. “You’re not getting paid.”
The lady thief’s jaw soon dropped in bewilderment. “Excuse me?!”
“You’re the reason I need another bounty in the first place.”
“Oh, come on! I’m basically your co-pilot at this point!”
Mando glanced at her boots still resting on his control panel. “You’re not my co-pilot.”
She huffed, dropping her feet to the floor. “Fine. But we are splitting the next bounty.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
Mando activated the hyperdrive without another word.
The stars outside the viewport stretched into streaks of white as the Razor Crest jumped into hyperspace.
And just like that, the journey to Nevarro began.
Fifteen minutes into the flight, Y/N got bored.
Really, really bored.
She started by tapping her fingers against the dashboard. Then she started humming. Then she kicked her legs back and forth.
Then…
She leaned over into Mando’s personal space.
“So.” She said.
Mando ignored her.
“So.” She repeated, dragging out the word.
Silence.
“So, you got any fun stories about bounties gone wrong?”
No response.
Y/N pouted. “You suck at conversation, y’know that?”
Still nothing.
She huffed and got up, wandering toward the back of the ship.
The second Y/N was left unsupervised, she started poking around.
And by poking around, she meant touching everything.
She flipped switches she probably shouldn’t.
She pressed buttons that definitely looked important.
She opened compartments that most certainly weren’t meant to be opened.
“Oooh, what’s this?” She muttered, pulling out some random device. “Dex, is this a bomb?”
Dexter tilted his head.
Y/N shrugged. “Only one way to find out.”
She lifted a finger to press it…
“Put that down.”
She yelped, nearly tossing the device into the air.
Mando loomed over her, arms crossed, his helmet practically radiating disapproval.
Y/N cleared her throat. “Pfft. I knew you were watching me.”
“I wasn’t.”
“Liar.”
Mando snatched the device out of her hands and shoved it back into the compartment.
The lady thief grinned. “You should lock these things up better, y’know. What if an enemy sneaks aboard? Or a really, really nosy bounty hunter?”
Mando’s helmet tilted. “I have weapons.”
“...Fair point.”
She turned and continued snooping.
Mando groaned.
Y/N poked her head into what she assumed was Mando’s sleeping quarters. It was small. Barely any personal belongings. A few weapons. Some spare armor pieces. It was so empty. She turned around, hands on her hips. “You really don’t decorate, huh?”
Mando said nothing.
“Like, I get the whole ‘mysterious warrior’ vibe, but come on, not even a pillow with a cool design? A rug? Maybe a cute little space plant?”
Nothing.
Y/N smirked. “You do sleep, right?”
Still nothing.
“...Or do you just stand in a dark corner like a creep until morning?”
Mando turned away.
She snickered mischievously.
Y/N’s snooping eventually led her to a closed storage compartment. Naturally, she opened it because she’s a nosy little shit and because why not. And what she found made her gasp.
“Oh. My. Stars.”
She turned, eyes gleaming with mischief.
“MANDO!”
He barely reacted. “What.”
She held up a very, very familiar-looking old, ragged cloth.
A brown cloak.
Specifically, a Jawa cloak.
“DO YOU COLLECT TROPHIES?!” Y/N practically shrieked.
Mando stiffened. “Put that back.”
Y/N giggled like a maniac. “Oh, this is great. What else you got? A Trandoshan tooth? A Rodian ear?”
“Put. It. Back.”
She did not.
Instead, she dramatically flung the Jawa cloak over herself.
“Oh wow, it really brings out my eyes.”
Mando looked one second away from ejecting her into space.
Dexter, of course, chittered in approval.
Eventually, Mando had enough. He marched straight up to her, grabbed her by the back of the cloak, and dragged her out of the storage room and back to the cockpit.
Y/N flailed, ready to throw a tantrum like a brat. “Wait, I was having fun!”
Mando ignored her and tossed her onto one of the passenger seats.
“You stay here.”
Y/N pouted.
Dexter pouted.
Even Grogu let out a small whine, like he was slightly disappointed that the entertainment was over.
Mando sighed.
It was going to be a long flight to Nevarro.
-----
The Razor Crest soon descended through Nevarro’s atmosphere, breaking through the thick clouds before settling onto the dusty landing zone with a heavy thud. Inside the cockpit, Mando powered down the ship’s systems, fingers gliding over the controls with practiced ease. Beside him, Y/N was already bouncing in her seat, grinning like a kid about to cause trouble. Or just a kid experiencing another episode of mad sugar rush.
“Finally!” She exclaimed. “Time to stretch our legs, huh, Dex?”
Dexter chittered in agreement, clambering onto her shoulder.
Mando, already exhausted from dealing with her on the flight over, exhaled sharply. “Stay out of trouble.”
Y/N smirked. “Mando, sweetie, trouble follows me everywhere.”
That was exactly what he was afraid of.
With a hiss, the ramp of the Razor Crest lowered, and the crew stepped out into the bustling streets of Nevarro. The city was alive with activity, merchants shouting, citizens bustling about, and bounty hunters lurking in the shadows. Mando walked ahead, Grogu nestled in the crook of his arm, his little ears twitching at the sounds around him.
And right behind him?
Y/N.
And Dexter.
Who were very obviously following him.
Mando glanced over his shoulder. “You don’t have to follow me.”
“Oh, but I do.” Y/N said, clasping her hands behind her back. “I still need to convince you to let me be your partner in crime, remember?”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
Mando groaned and kept walking.
Y/N flashed a triumphant smirk before skipping to keep pace with him.
Dexter, meanwhile, was eyeing the marketplace like it was a buffet of potential theft.
Mando was not dealing with this today.
They soon arrived at the Guild’s headquarters, a grand stone building with blaster scorch marks still burned into the walls from past fights. Inside, the air was thick with tension, bounty hunters scattered around, nursing drinks and exchanging grim stories about their latest kills. At the center of it all, sitting behind a sturdy table stacked with pucks and credits, was Greef Karga.
The moment he looked up, his friendly expression froze.
His smile vanished.
His hand went straight for his blaster.
Y/N barely had a second to react before…
PEW!
A blaster bolt sizzled through the air, narrowly missing her head.
“KRRIFF!” Y/N yelped, lunging behind Mando, grabbing his cape and using him as a human (Mandalorian?) shield. Dexter screamed in alarm and buried himself in her hair.
Mando barely flinched, his armor taking the brunt of whatever shock Y/N was experiencing.
Karga, seething, was already aiming again. “YOU!” He barked. “You slimy, no-good, backstabbing, credit-stealing LITTLE SHIT!”
Y/N peered out from behind Mando’s shoulder. “Aw, Karga, you do remember me!”
Another blaster shot.
Y/N yanked Mando in the way again.
Mando finally raised a hand. “Enough.”
Karga glared. “You’re protecting HER?!”
Mando tilted his helmet slightly, then slowly turned his head toward her. Who was still clutching his cape. And very much hiding behind him like a coward. He sighed. Loudly.
Karga holstered his blaster but did not sit down. “You’ve got some damn nerve showing your face here, girl.”
Y/N grinned. “What can I say? I’m a woman of surprises.”
Karga scowled. “You’re a woman of making me almost go BANKRUPT!”
Mando turned his helmet to her again. “What did you do?”
Y/N twiddled her fingers like a child being scolded. “Ehh… Well, funny story…”
Karga slammed his hands on the table. “This THIEF…” He jabbed a finger toward her, “...worked for me. Once. ONCE. And in the span of TWO WEEKS, she taught that little MONSTER on her shoulder how to pickpocket me!”
Dexter, sensing that he was being talked about, hissed at Karga. Clearly offended that he called him a monster. Karga pointed a trembling finger. “That thing stole THOUSANDS from me. THOUSANDS!”
Y/N made an innocent face. “I mean, in my defense, you should’ve watched your pockets better.”
Karga actually looked like he was going to explode.
Mando, meanwhile, was now processing this information.
Slowly, very slowly, he turned his head toward Y/N again. “You stole from Karga?”
“Technically…”
“You taught your monkey to steal from Karga?”
“Again, technically…”
Mando sighed.
Karga rubbed his temples. “Mando, whatever business you have with her, do yourself a favor and drop her off a cliff.”
Y/N gasped. “RUDE.”
Dexter threw a meiloorun slice at him.
Karga dodged it. Barely.
Mando just… stood there.
Questioning every decision he had made since landing on this planet. Finally, finally, he spoke. “Do you have a job or not?”
Karga narrowed his eyes at Y/N. “She better not be getting a cut.”
“She won’t.”
Y/N scoffed and folded her arms across her chest and pouted like a brat.
Karga sighed. “Fine. I’ve got a high-priority target on the Outer Rim. Big bounty. Payout is generous. You in?”
Mando gave a curt nod.
Karga tossed the bounty puck onto the table. A hologram flickered to life, displaying a rough-looking Trandoshan with a fat bounty on his head.
Y/N whistled. “Ooooh. That’s a lot of credits.”
Mando grabbed the puck. “We’ll take it.”
Karga’s gaze drifted back to Y/N, then to Dexter, then back to Mando.
Then, in the most tired, defeated voice he’d ever used, he muttered…
“Get them the hell out of my sight.”
Y/N beamed in delight as she waves goodbye at him while Dexter throws another meiloorun slice at him again. “Pleasure doing business with ya, Karga!”
Karga nearly shot her again.
Mando was silent as they walked through the city streets, the bounty puck secured in his belt.
Y/N, completely unfazed, walked beside him, hands folded behind her head.
Dexter happily chomped on another stolen snack.
Grogu cooed as the little monkey shared his stolen treat with him.
Then…
“So…” Y/N piped up. “Are we officially partners now?”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
Mando sighed.
Again.
It was going to be a long, long partnership.

“‘Cus space is just a word made up by someone who’s afraid to get too… close.”
He intrigued you from the moment you set your eyes on him. Tall, broad, glinting in beskar, and a complete mystery underneath the helmet.
You often passed him and his little green apprentice in the marketplace. It started off with you glancing at him. It then turned into small smiles on your end, and a curt nod on his.
The spring air was fresh the first time he spoke to you. You were picking out some fruits for your home, when you turned around and saw him standing behind you. You gasped softly, beaming up at him.
“Those are Grogu’s favorite,” The masked man said, tilting his visor down at the fruit you had in your hand. “I was going to get him some, too.” His modulated voice was deeper than you expected, but had a warm tone to it nonetheless.
“They’re my favorite, too.” You respond with a smile, splitting the fruit in half after quickly peeling it and handing it to the small creature.
“Oh, no, you don’t have to—” He starts, but you shake your head.
“I insist.” You grin as Grogu coos up at you, his ears perking up.
“He likes you.” The Mandalorian says, and you give him a small smile.
“Well it’s nice to officially meet you to, uh,” You pause, not knowing what to call the man.
“Mando.” He says, and you nod.
“Mando.” You repeat, holding out your hand. He looks down at it for a second, like he’s contemplating on shaking it or not. After a couple of beats, he extends his hand to shake yours.
“What’s your name?” He asks you, and you just grin up at him before slowly backing away from him.
You knew Mando obviously wasn’t his real name, so you decided to be a mystery to him all the same. You didn’t know much about Mandalorians, but you did know they had a creed they followed. It was strict and hid their identities, and you respected that. You just thought it’d be a bit fun to mess with the man in glinting beskar for awhile.
He knew it, too. He knew you were playing a little game, and honestly, he thought he’d hate it. He was a straight-to-the-point kind of man.
But he didn’t.
He saw it as a challenge. He asked people around to see if anyone knew your name, and no one did. Maybe you were just a private person. Which, in all honesty, you kind of were. You minded your own business on Nevarro. You were friendly, just not very talkative.
You on the other hand had went to the local library to find any books you could on Mandalorians. There weren’t many, but you did find one that explained some of their history and their language. Next time you saw Mando, you’d surprise him with your newfound learnings of his culture.
That wasn’t going to be for a few months, though. He ended up getting a job that sent him to the near other side of the galaxy.
He thought about you every single day. He didn’t know what it was about you that had you in his mind stuck like glue. Maybe it was the way you smiled up at him, how you were so friendly to his son, how you remained a mystery to him. Maker, it was just you in general. Your sweet voice, your kind eyes, your beautiful smile.
Mando felt strange about the way he perceived you. He barely even knew you and he was already thinking about you nearly every waking second of the day. He’d never felt this way with anyone, except for one other person.
Omera.
When he was on Sorgan, he almost thought about risking revealing his identity for her. He’d started to feel strongly about her, but he whisked those feelings away quickly.
He never knew how to connect with someone. His lifestyle always prevented him from settling down and allowing himself to actually get close to someone for once. He had a hard time expressing his feelings, and when they overcame him, he just shut down. He’d go into panic mode and close himself off completely so nobody would be able to experience the softer side of the man underneath all of the armor.
He couldn’t help but wonder from time-to-time what life would be like if he’d just settle down. Sure, he had a house to come back to now, but he had no home. Someone he could come back to after a long journey to ask him how it went, assure him everything will be okay, be there for him when he needed someone.
He craved that so badly, but he knew he just couldn’t get it.
The next time he saw you, it was the peak of summertime. He spotted you first. He was in the marketplace trying to restock on food for him and Grogu, when he saw you talking to the spice vendor. You had that same pretty, kind smile on your lips as you shook the vendor’s hand, putting your purchase in a bag you had slung over your shoulder.
You wore a black sleeveless shirt with a floor length green skirt. You looked even more beautiful than when he left.
You turned your body in his direction, saying your goodbye’s to the vendor as your eyes snapped to the familiar shine of beskar in front of you. You halted for a split second before approaching him slowly.
“Mando.” You greet, smiling up at him.
“Cyar’ika,” He nodded down at you, and your heart skipped a beat. Sweetheart. He’d called you sweetheart.
“It’s been awhile.”
He nodded.
“It’s nice to see you again, Mando.” You softly grabbed his bicep for a second, not wanting to overstep your boundaries. You let go of it quickly before walking off into the opposite direction, leaving each other to wonder about the other for the rest of the day.
That day, Din made it a point to stop by Greef Karga’s office.
“What can I do for you, Mando?”
“What can you tell me about this woman?” He pulls up a hologram photo of you from his glove, feeling nearly guilty about what he’s about to ask his old friend.
Karga quirks his brow at Din. “She’s not a bounty, is she?” He strokes his chin as his stance goes wide, gaze flickering between the hologram and Din’s visor.
“No, I just–” Din pauses, not even knowing what to say. “It’s to babysit Grogu. Need a sitter next time I go out to hunt a bounty.” Din lied, and Karga laughed knowing he was.
“Sure, Mando.” He chuckled, and Din’s face was hot under his helmet. Luckily, Karga didn’t press any further and gave him your name and where you lived. Din thanked the man and headed out for your house later on that evening.
You were hanging your freshly washed clothes up with clothespins, humming an unfamiliar tune. Din approached you carefully not wanting to startle you, but he did anyhow.
You jumped as you turned and saw him, putting a hand over your heart.
“Stars, Mando. You scared me.” You huffed, clutching your tunic against your chest.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to.”
“It’s alright. What brings you on this side of town?” You hang up the tunic in your hand, turning to face him.
“Just… strolling through.” He shrugs, but he knew he couldn’t lie to you.
“Uh huh.” You grin, crossing your arms over your chest.
“I actually, uh, asked Greef where you lived.” He admitted, visor tilted down toward the dirt crunching underneath his boot as he scuffed his foot.
“Do I have an unknown bounty on my head?” You half joke, and Mando tilts his helmet.
“You do anything that could make you a bounty?” He retorts, and you laugh. Oh, how he liked that sound.
“I may be wanted for making the best pog soup in town,” You joke. “Wanna join me for some? It’s almost finished.”
“I can’t.” He shakes his head, and you give him a small, sad smile. You wish he would, but you respect him and his wishes.
“Sure. Would you like some to-go?” You ask, picking up the woven basket that previously contained your freshly washed clothes. You popped your hip out and held the basket to it, tilting your head at him questioningly.
“I don’t want to impose.”
“You’re not, Mando, I’m offering.” You softly chuckle in disbelief.
He wondered, for a second, how his real name would sound rolling off of your tongue. He bet it would sound like honey. Something sweet, something pure.
“Sure.” Was all he said, and you coaxed him to follow you into your home.
It was cozy and comfortable, walls decorated with artwork made my locals that they sold at the marketplace. The place was perfect for a small family, but since it was just you, you had more room than you knew what to do with.
You pulled out a container and ladled the soup into it, cautious not to burn the pads of your fingers. You packed the container nicely in a bag, handing it to Mando.
“Here you are.” You push the bag into his hands, and he looks down at it before presumably looking at you.
“Thank you, cyar’ika.” His voice is soft behind the modulator, his heart filling with that unfamiliar warmth once more.
“You have to let me know how it tastes. You know, once you try it.”
A small laugh is heard behind the modulator, and your heart swells at the sound.
“I will. I promise.”
Din went home that night, warming up the soup again after he put Grogu down for bed so he could eat in silence. He was used to it; it was comforting. But it also made his heart strings tug with the wish that he’d have someone to share a meal with. He was scared to join you for dinner, so he quickly said no. He was scared you’d turn around to try and look at his face; he was scared of you not liking what he had to say; he was scared you were going to find him mundane.
Even with all of the stories he had, he was afraid you wouldn’t find any of them interesting. He was terrified you wouldn’t be into him. So, he pushed and pushed and pushed himself away until he was so certain all of his feelings were detached from you.
But, when he took his first sip of your pog soup, he knew he was doomed. Maker, that was the best soup he’s ever had in his life. Usually, he’d scarf down his meals. It was a habit he was trying to unlearn. But with your soup, he savored the taste on his tongue and enjoyed each and every flavor it had to offer.
It easily became his favorite meal in the whole universe.
Weeks went by and you’d make him the soup, even when it was the peak of summer and sweat would glisten on your forehead. You did it for him, because he intrigued you, and you wanted to get to know him.
That opportunity finally came one night when he knocked on your door in the late hour. You were surprised to see him standing at your door with his son fast asleep in his arms.
“Hi.” You said softly, motioning for him to come in. He stepped inside, only allowing himself a few inches into your home.
“Sorry to come by so late,” He starts, “The water went out at my house, and, uh, I was wondering if I could borrow your shower.” He explained.
This was the first time you heard a more shy tone behind the modulator. It was sweet, and you could tell it must’ve taken him a lot of courage to even come here and ask you such a favor.
“Of course. Let me, um, get you a towel.” You walk over to the hall cabinet and take out a towel for him, going into the bathroom and hanging it neatly on the towel rack.
“Thank you.” You felt his visor linger on you for a little longer than you were used to. You looked down at your attire and finally noticed that you were wearing a sleep tunic that barely covered the top of your thighs. Your cheeks heated in embarrassment, and to shift the awkward ambience, you held out your hands.
“I can watch him while you shower.” You gesture to Grogu, and Din hands him to you carefully. The little creature coos, nuzzling into you as a tiny hand clings onto your tunic. You smile down at him as you settle down on the couch in your living room, rocking him softly.
“Thank you.” The Mandalorian says, turning swiftly to the bathroom.
He didn’t take long, and you tried to not let your mind wander to what he looked like underneath his helmet. You tried to guess his features deliberately, weighing the options of dark or light eyes, hair, skin, everything. You bet he was gorgeous underneath the beskar. It was a shame no one got to see him, but you respected him and his privacy.
You wonder how many people have seen him with his helmet off. If anyone’s ever gotten to touch his face. Oh, that man was probably so touch deprived. The thought made your heart sink a bit.
Your thoughts dissipated into thin air when the bathroom door opened, steam coming out of the room as he stepped out in his flight suit. The only piece of armor he had on was his helmet. You frowned softly in the darkness, thinking that must be insanely uncomfortable for his wet hair to be sticking to his helmet like that.
“Here,” You stood up, careful not to wake the baby. You gestured down to a basket that was empty, and motioned the Mandalorian to put his armor in there. You took a piece of armor for him and gently set it in the basket, and he followed suit with the rest of it. “I can wear a blindfold, Mando.” You told him. He looks at you, tilting his visor.
“I know other people can’t see you. I presume Grogu here already has, but, I can wear a blindfold so your hair can dry properly. That helmet must be awfully heavy.” You explain, and he thinks about it for a moment.
“Okay.” Was all he said, and you smile as you head into your bedroom and set Grogu down on your bed before rummaging through your clothes for a blindfold. You found one tucked away in a corner of a drawer, and you held it out to him.
“I’d feel more comfortable if you put it on. You know, so you don’t think I’m trying to get a peak at you or anything.” You smile softly at him, and Din’s heart clenches. You respected him and his creed, and he was so thankful of that. You drop the satin material in his bare hands, which you noticed were tan. That was just one piece of the puzzle that is this man before you.
You turn on your heel so you’re facing away from him, and he takes the material and wraps it gently around your head to cover your eyes. His fingers accidentally brushed your neck as he pulled back after tying the blindfold onto you.
Goosebumps raised onto your skin, and he noticed. Even in the dark and with the tint of his visor, he noticed. He felt it, too.
He wasn’t a man of many words. That was something you both knew. But in that moment, he wanted to tell you you were the most beautiful person he’d ever seen in the galaxy. He wanted to tell you everything there was to know and take you to every single planet that he think you’d like.
But, as always, he was at a loss for words. Too many thoughts and emotions trying to claw their way out of him, and he wouldn’t let it surface. He wouldn’t let himself fall for someone as beautiful and smart and kind as you. He just couldn’t.
You felt yourself being spun around as Din waved his hand over your face. “Can you see how many fingers I’m holding up?” He held up four, right in front of your face.
You shook your head. Everything was pitch black.
“Good.” Was all he said, before you heard a hissing sound of pressure being released.
“You can stay in here awhile and, I don’t know, talk if you’d like. If not I set out a blanket and pillow for you on the couch out there.” You pointed in the wrong direction of the living room, and Din’s lips curled up in the slightest.
“What would we talk about?” Din’s unmodulated voice rang through your ears, and you gasped. His voice was beautiful. Almost shy sounding, but deep and smooth.
You shrug your shoulders. “Whatever you want to talk about. I don’t get company, ever, so… it’s up to you. Or we can just go to bed and we don’t have to talk at all.”
“I can… tell you about some stories of my adventures across the galaxy.” He offers, and you grin toward the sound of his voice.
“I’d love that.”
And so he does. For the next couple of hours, you sit on your bed with your arms enveloping your knees to your chest as you listen to him talk about these intense days hunting a bounty, battling Moff Gideon, running into Jedi, the fact that he gave Grogu to Luke Skywalker, how he won the darksaber and gave it rightfully and respectfully to Lady Kryze, and how the Mandalorians retook their home planet.
He even went as far as telling you that he wasn’t originally born a Mandalorian, that they saved him after a droid killed his biological parents, which is why he absolutely despises the bots. Well, besides IG-11 and R5-D4.
You soaked in every single detail he chose to give you, finding himself loosening up over time while he talked to you. He found you very easy to talk to, and he could tell you were attentive as you followed along with his stories.
“I’ve never talked this much to anyone, ever.” Din chuckles, sighing softly.
“Really? I could listen to you go on for days. You’re an amazing story teller, Mando.” You smile softly, and his heart skips a beat.
He contemplated on telling you his real name, too. After all, you two’ve been acquainted long enough. He knew your first name so it was only fair that he told you his.
“It’s Din.” He says in a near whisper. He saw your brows thread together in confusion, so he elaborated.
“My name is Din.” He says, and he saw your body go rigid.
Your heart melted at the fact that he was willing to give up a part of his identity to you. That he trusted you enough to even tell you everything he’s said thus far, including his actual name.
“Din.” You repeat, and him hearing you say his name felt so right. Like it was a secret of yours to keep.
“Just… do me a favor, please. Don’t repeat my name to anybody, and only use it when it’s just us two together.” He gnawed on his bottom lip as anxiousness overtook his body. He was never vulnerable with people like this, and not having any of his armor on in a place that wasn’t his home furthered his anxiety.
You reached out in front of you, successfully finding his warm hand as you gave it a soft squeeze before pulling away. “Of course, Din. You have my word.”
After that night, you two seemed to get closer. People noticed and talked, but you didn’t really pay any mind. Neither did Din. There were many more nights of him coming over to your place to talk and eat delicious meals with you, which he finally allowed himself to do. You ate with your backs to each other as you talked about your days, another brief mission Din went on, and how Grogu is finally getting along with the kids of Nevarro City.
It wasn’t until the fall time that you realized you were starting to fall for the man in shining armor. It’s ironic, really. The one person you’d told yourself was off limits, you found thinking of nearly every minute of the day. The one that you were sure of just being strictly friends with.
You were falling in love, and you were falling hard.
There were some days you felt you couldn’t even face Din, because you genuinely feared total and complete rejection. It wasn’t fair. You didn’t have something to cover your face to hide your feelings or the soft sparkle in your eye every time you looked at him.
Whatever affections or strange feelings Din had for Omera a few years ago, he had for you much stronger. He found himself wanting to be the source of your beautiful smile and laugh. He wanted to be near you as much as he could, and the times that he couldn’t, he found himself spending every second thinking of you.
Some might say it was an unhealthy obsession at that point, but truthfully, you both were just lovestruck fools. You didn’t need to see Din’s face to know that he was a loyal, trustworthy, honorable man. He had a heart of gold that he only reserved for you and his son.
He never thought that with his old lifestyle he’d be able to settle down somewhere. Now that he’s here in Nevarro with his son, he wanted a family. Not that Grogu wasn’t his family, of course, but he wanted to settle down. Start some family roots here. Find a wife, have a (human) child, grow old with his family here.
He saw that life with you.
The times he thought about it in depth, he truly thought he might’ve actually been going crazy, but he didn’t care. He was so content with just him and Grogu in his cozy little home, but ever since he finally allowed himself to grow close to you, he feels as if the house isn’t a home without you in it.
Come winter time, those feelings from you both never dissipated. If anything, they grew stronger.
It was a busy day at the market one particular chilly day. Vendors were selling caf and pastries, which you gladly indulged in. You were looking at a new painting to buy for your house when you heard your name being called. You whirled around to come face-to- well, helmet, with Din.
You smiled up at him.
“Mando, you’re back!” You cheer, going to give him a hug, but you stopped short. You suddenly remembered you were in a very public place, where wandering eyes could clearly see you both.
Din felt your hesitation and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into his chest plate. The metal was cold, sending a shiver down your spine. You relaxed in the familiar embrace (you two may’ve cuddled from time-to-time when he came over to talk with you), looking up at his visor.
“Wanted to surprise you at your house, but you weren’t there. Figured you’d be here instead.” He explained, and you grinned up at him.
“Was a short trip, hm?” You asked, walking with him through the market. He kept his hand loosely wrapped around your hip as you walked.
“I needed to go back to Mandalore for something.”
“What was it?” Curiosity overtook you, and he looked down at you.
“Not here, cyar’ika. Let’s go back to your house.”
You both made your way back to the warmth of your home, shucking off your three top layers so you were left in just a long sleeve and pants. You kicked off your boots before you made your way to the couch, sitting down as you waited for Din. He sat down next to you after checking to see Grogu was fast asleep in his pod.
“I went to Mandalore to ask the Armorer for something. Something I want you to have, something very significant and dear to me. But I want you to know this first,” He begins, leather-bound hands grabbing your own. “Cyar’ika, you’ve been nothing but a light in my life. I spend every day thinking of you and how much you mean to me and Grogu. You’re brilliant, kind, brave, beautiful, and so many more things that I couldn’t even begin to cover. You’ve made me fall in love with you the past near year that I’ve gotten the privilege to know you. You’ve got me, cyar’ika, and nothing would make me happier if you’d become my riduur, my wife, my partner for life.”
Tears are flowing out of your eyes now, and a happy sob escapes your throat. He untangles one of his hands from yours to take something out of a pocket he has, and he presents you a shiny necklace with Din and Grogu’s signet as the pendant. A Mudhorn.
Your free hand flies over your mouth as you cry, looking down at the beautiful necklace and back up to Din’s visor.
“Din.” You choke out a whisper, moving toward him to embrace him in a hug. He hugs you back tightly, resting his helmet against your forehead. You take both sides of his helmet and lean back, sniffling as you smile in pure adoration.
“I would love to join your clan, Din. Become your riduur. Be your wife. Partner for eternity. I love you.”
“Cyar’ika.” Din’s modulator barely caught onto his whisper. You two held each other like that for awhile, your sniffles finally dying down.
“You know, Mandalorians have an oath we follow our whole lives after we’ve been sworn into the creed,” Din starts, breaking the comfortable silence. He pulls back from you and brushes your hair out of your face. “Honor is life, for with no honor one may as well be dead. Loyalty is life, for without one's clan one has no purpose. Death is life, one should die as they have lived.”
“That’s beautiful, Din.” You whisper, hands moving back down to your lap. He takes off his gloves and grabs your hands into his once more.
“Mandalorians also don’t do wedding ceremonies. We just say a short vow together, and that’s it. Once we’re married, you get to see my face.” Your breath hitches in your throat, and your heart pounds rapidly.
You completely forgot about ever wanting to see him, let alone being allowed to see him. The thought of him showing his face to you made you both nervous. He was worried what you’d think, and you were happy you could finally put a face to the man you’re deeply in love with.
“So, we can just say the vows right now, and that’s it? We’re married?” He gives you a short nod, and you mirror his actions. “Okay.”
“Okay?”
“Okay. Let’s get married.” You smile at him, giving his hands a squeeze. He chuckles softly, wanting nothing more than to kiss you right in this very moment.
“Okay. We need to say them at the same time, so I’ll say them to you and then we’ll say them together,” He instructs, and you nod to signal you were ready.
“Mhi solus tome, mhi solus dar'tome, mhi me'dinui an, mhi ba'juri verde. Got it?” He asks gently, rubbing his thumbs over the top of your hands.
You nod with glossy eyes and a drumming heart.
“Mhi solus tome, mhi solus dar'tome, mhi me'dinui an, mhi ba'juri verde.” You both say synchronously, and a tear falls from your cheek once more.
“We are one when together, we are one when parted, we will share all, we will raise warriors,” Din says, unclasping the necklace so he can put it around your neck. “My riduur. I’ll love you forever.”
“I love you, Din.”
“Are you ready to see me now?” His voice wavers a bit, and you can tell he’s nervous.
You’re his wife and you’re part of his clan now and he wants to spend the rest of his life loving you so tenderly and sweetly as you deserve, and yet, the nerves coursing through his body at the thought of revealing himself to you are in full force.
“Whenever you’re ready, riduur.” Your voice is sweet and patient. Even if he wasn’t ready to show his face to you now, you’d be completely okay with it. You fell in love with him for his loyalty, honesty, kind heart, and protective nature.
Even so, he removed both of his hands from yours before moving them up to his helmet, taking a deep breath before slowly lifting the heap of beskar up and over his head. He set his helmet down on the ground, eyes moving back to your face.
You were in complete awe with what you saw before you. He was simply the most beautiful man you’ve ever seen in your life. Tan skin, brown eyes you could easily get lost in, strong nose, pink lips, and some scruffy facial hair along his jaw with a mustache to match. His brown curls sat messily atop his head, and you just couldn’t stop staring.
Before he could speak out of nervousness, you moved both of your hands and held the sides of his face gently. He closed his eyes in pure bliss, never being touched by another like that in his life. His eyes slowly blinked back open to look at you, brow creasing as he waited for you to say something.
“Meshla,” You whispered, and he inhaled sharply. He had no idea where or how you learned a word of Mando’a, but hearing you speak the language of his people made his heart swell with absolute pride. “You’re so beautiful, Din.” You lightly trace the tips of your index finger over the curves of his face, resting your hand on his cheek once more.
You swept your thumb over his cheekbone, moving closer to him to press a kiss onto his forehead and his nose. You leaned your forehead against his and closed your eyes, rubbing your nose against his gently.
“I love you, my riduur.” He whispered, and you smiled as you leaned in a little more.
“I love you too, Din.” And finally, your lips connected. The kiss was soft and sweet, but passionate and full of promise and want and need.
Falling for and marrying the beautiful woman from the market in less than a year was not on Din’s agenda, for his fear of getting too intimate to someone overtook his whole being. But, stars, he was so glad he took that leap of faith.
And, maker above, was he ever so eternally grateful that the person he chose was you.
Someone who made him unafraid.
Someone who allowed him to get close.

‼️ Please note I am only testing it in the Zenith Sims Discord Server for right now <3 ‼️
https://discord.gg/Z3NxX2AdzZ - > Click to Join
I’ve been spending a few hours on a little side-project called Z Simulations...basically a life-sim RPG stuffed into a chat bot. It’s very early testing. Mostly just working on this for fun while I complete my studies. Not sure if it will go anywhere, but if there is any interest, I'm happy to keep building it up with more features. Was feeling inspired by the Tatsu bot and obviously The Sims!
Overview of Current Features
Create custom households, characters, and pets
Give them traits, moods, jobs, vehicles, houses, pets, and work with an in-bot economy system
Watch stats tick down over time—yes, your custom pets will get hangry if you forget them, don't forget!
Earn cash, level skills, and unlock goodies by exploring funky biomes or clocking shifts at work
Example Future Modules
Random events – jury duty, phone scams, alien abductions, surprise tax refunds, bump into other users’ characters!
Buddy-up Adventures – team up or just hang out together
Education System – go to school, get a degree, influence your job potential
Social System – characters will form their own relationships with others through random events / activities
Health System & doctor visits – ignore wellness too long and it’s clinic time (or pricey energy drinks)
Marketplace & player trades/sales – create, buy, and share with the community
Seasonal events – festivals, holiday celebrations, etc.
Control-panel embed – one-click toggles for pings, setting management, random-event on/off, etc.
Horse & stable system – create, train, compete, and manage your stable
Achievements & badges – “First Million,” “Pet Hoarder,” etc., attachable to a profile card
Reputation System – what road will you go down?
Mini-games – card games, casino, trivia nights—quick ways to earn (or lose) cash and compete with others
Open to other ideas as well!
Extra Info
This is 100 % an experimental project as of now—done purely for fun while I'm bored sometimes
Bugs will happen (missing buttons, typos, exploding embeds) → please let me know though so I can fix it!
Balance/Stats will need work—prices and stat decay might change while I’m still tuning the bot
Feedback—bug reports, feature requests, or suggestions are welcome; feel free to message me!
If there’s something you’d really like to see with the bot or you’re interested in testing it in your own server, please reach out. My direct messages are open if it’s related to the project.

Day 23
Maker’s End
Tumblr media
Rode back to the Shattered Kiln camp to stock up, sell the trinkets I uncovered in the delve, and change back into some sturdier gear. Then I set out east toward Pitchcliff. Surely Erend would be there by now, and Marad’s agents had had plenty of time to gather intel on Dervhal. I was just hoping we weren't too late.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good thing I did change into that armour, because the machines on the trail east were deadly. I came upon another corrupted site with two Rockbreakers. I knew I’d be minced if I met them on the ground, so instead I tore off the canon of a nearby Ravager and shot the Rockbreakers from across the river—they don’t seem able to cross water, maybe can’t burrow so deep. Frost and hardpoint arrows after that, and though I tried to find cover I got battered around by the rocks they churned up and sent flying over the water.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then a Behemoth came charging by, my first encounter with one. I took out the modules on its back that allowed it to lift stones and debris from the earth with arcs of force. It was just a Trampler without flame after that, took it out with more frost and arrows
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Onward to Pitchcliff. I spotted the bright marks of Banuk paintings on the northern cliff face, a climbing trail to go with them. I couldn't resist the call, so I made the climb and was rewarded with another of those wooden figures the envoy in Meridian is so keen on. And the view, of course.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Approaching the border to the Claim, the trees were felled, leaving the landscape clear and grey. Oseram machines penetrated the gloom with the grinding of wood and the scream of struck metal. Like the pulleys in Meridian’s elevators and their huge counterweights, their machines hooked into the forces of the wilds and transferred them into new actions—sawing and striking and smelting. It’s amazing. I wonder if all machines work in this way, when broken down to their simplest parts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once I arrived in Pitchcliff, I headed for the marketplace where Erend was already waiting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I picked up a trail moving away from the market recently, followed it to a secluded edge of the village and found Marad’s spy, already dead. He’d drawn a crude map on the stone with his own blood before he died, showing an area to the north east. I guess Dervahl got to him. There were no notes or information on him, nothing we could use except that ominous map.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erend gathered the vanguard soldiers he’d brought with him while I went ahead to scout the area north east of Pitchcliff. I soon found a clear trail, its torches already burning in the evening light. The trail wound up into the mountains, where I soon spotted the red and black rags of bandits snapping in the wind, more makeshift bridges and shelters. Seems like Dervahl's made himself so unpopular around the Oseram that he’s had to fill his ranks with roaming killers. They had machines chained up; looked like they were trying to take them apart for scrap and study. The presence of Longlegs supported my theory about a sound-based weapon. I guess Dervahl managed to extract the mechanism intact and put it to his own purposes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erend soon arrived with the vanguard, and I told them to hang back while I shattered the machines' chains, setting them loose to make some noise. The Longleg and Ravager wreaked havoc while I picked off a few marksmen from the watchtowers, then Erend’s men joined me in the fight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I used the Ravager’s cannon to take out most that the machines hadn’t torn apart, then climbed around to surprise those hiding behind cover.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We finished off the machines, then I tracked the pulse of Dervahl’s weapon to an underground passage. I was barred by a deafening blast of sound, then a man came out from the passage slinging a huge weapon—some sort of heavy-duty rattler. Not Dervahl himself though. Did he know we were coming for him?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erend and I took out the gunner, pressing in close so he couldn’t launch his projectiles, then I removed the protection he wore on his ears and used them to get close enough to turn off the sound trap on the stairs. Then we descended.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ersa was down there, curled up on the stone of her cell as she was barraged with wave after wave of debilitating noise. Erend smashed the machine to scrap and held Ersa close. It was clear to me, probably to Erend too, that she’d only been clinging to life in hope of seeing him again. She warned Erend of Dervahl’s intentions to enact his failed plan to destroy Meridian. She told him to stand by his king—seems like Avad’s care for Ersa was reciprocated. How are we going to tell him?
Tumblr media
I didn’t know what to say to Erend, just went about making myself useful, searching the workshop. I found notes delivered from a trader in blaze; Dervahl had ordered a huge shipment to Meridian. Either he’s hiding it somewhere, somehow (unlikely, given there’s been strict inspections of all wares since Ersa’s death), or the shipment is yet to arrive and Avad’s men can intercept it.
Looking around at Derhval’s inventions, it was almost sad. There was a device in there, a wooden box, capable of capturing and echoing recorded voices, almost like a Focus can. Incredible. And his weapon derived from a Longleg’s scream…he’s a genius. Shame he couldn’t use it for good. This quest for revenge has bent him so far he’s fighting against his own people.
I can’t feel sorry for him though. Especially not with the state Ersa was in when she died. Not broken, she joked, but she was beaten blue, fresh blood tracks running over dried crust from her ears, nose, mouth. I wish I could have known her as the captain she was. Erend was…shattered, to come all this way, regain his hope, and lose her all over again. It’s better that we found her, of course, but I know this is a whole new world of pain for those who loved her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I stayed at the camp with the other vanguardsmen over night, leaving Erend in the workshop with Ersa. I slept some of the time, kept watch for the rest, making sure no one else would be returning to camp. Either Dervahl was here a while, or he took over an existing settlement. The buildings were strong, and seemed old. I’ll ride back south tomorrow. To Meridian or to the Grave Hoard? I know I’d never forgive myself if Dervahl’s attack came when I was gone.

Udaan by InAmigos Foundation:  Elevating Women, Empowering Futures
Tumblr media
In the rapidly evolving socio-economic landscape of India, millions of women remain underserved by mainstream development efforts—not due to a lack of talent, but a lack of access. In response, Project Udaan, a flagship initiative by the InAmigos Foundation, emerges not merely as a program, but as a model of scalable women's empowerment.
Udaan—meaning “flight” in Hindi—represents the aspirations of rural and semi-urban women striving to break free from intergenerational limitations. By engineering opportunity and integrating sustainable socio-technical models, Udaan transforms potential into productivity and promise into progress.
Mission: Creating the Blueprint for Women’s Self-Reliance
At its core, Project Udaan seeks to:
Empower women with industry-aligned, income-generating skills
Foster micro-entrepreneurship rooted in local demand and resources
Facilitate financial and digital inclusion
Strengthen leadership, health, and rights-based awareness
Embed resilience through holistic community engagement
Each intervention is data-informed, impact-monitored, and custom-built for long-term sustainability—a hallmark of InAmigos Foundation’s field-tested grassroots methodology.
A Multi-Layered Model for Empowerment
Tumblr media
Project Udaan is built upon a structured architecture that integrates training, enterprise, and technology to ensure sustainable outcomes. This model moves beyond skill development into livelihood generation and measurable socio-economic change.
1. Skill Development Infrastructure
The first layer of Udaan is a robust skill development framework that delivers localized, employment-focused education. Training modules are modular, scalable, and aligned with the socio-economic profiles of the target communities.
Core domains include:
Digital Literacy: Basic computing, mobile internet use, app navigation, and digital payment systems
Tailoring and Textile Production: Pattern making, machine stitching, finishing techniques, and indigenous craft techniques
Food Processing and Packaging: Pickle-making, spice grinding, home-based snack units, sustainable packaging
Salon and Beauty Skills: Basic grooming, hygiene standards, customer interaction, and hygiene protocols
Financial Literacy and Budgeting: Saving schemes, credit access, banking interfaces, micro-investments
Communication and Self-Presentation: Workplace confidence, customer handling, local language fluency
2. Microenterprise Enablement and Livelihood Incubation
To ensure that learning transitions into economic self-reliance, Udaan incorporates a post-training enterprise enablement process. It identifies local market demand and builds backward linkages to equip women to launch sustainable businesses.
The support ecosystem includes:
Access to seed capital via self-help group (SHG) networks, microfinance partners, and NGO grants
Distribution of startup kits such as sewing machines, kitchen equipment, or salon tools
Digital onboarding support for online marketplaces such as Amazon Saheli, Flipkart Samarth, and Meesho
Offline retail support through tie-ups with local haats, trade exhibitions, and cooperative stores
Licensing and certification where applicable for food safety or textile quality standards
3. Tech-Driven Monitoring and Impact Tracking
Transparency and precision are fundamental to Udaan’s growth. InAmigos Foundation employs its in-house Tech4Change platform to manage operations, monitor performance, and scale the intervention scientifically.
The platform allows:
Real-time monitoring of attendance, skill mastery, and certification via QR codes and mobile tracking
Impact evaluation using household income change, asset ownership, and healthcare uptake metrics
GIS-based mapping of intervention zones and visualization of under-reached areas
Predictive modeling through AI to identify at-risk participants and suggest personalized intervention strategies

Human-Centered, Community-Rooted
Empowerment is not merely a process of economic inclusion—it is a cultural and psychological shift. Project Udaan incorporates gender-sensitive design and community-first outreach to create lasting change.
Key interventions include:
Strengthening of SHG structures and women-led federations to serve as peer mentors
Family sensitization programs targeting male allies—fathers, husbands, brothers—to reduce resistance and build trust
Legal and rights-based awareness campaigns focused on menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, domestic violence laws, and maternal care
Measured Impact and Proven Scalability
Project Udaan has consistently delivered quantifiable outcomes at the grassroots level. As of the latest cycle:
Over 900 women have completed intensive training programs across 60 villages and 4 districts
Nearly 70 percent of participating women reported an average income increase of 30 to 60 percent within 9 months of program completion
420+ micro-enterprises have been launched, 180 of which are now self-sustaining and generating employment for others
More than 5,000 indirect beneficiaries—including children, elderly dependents, and second-generation SHG members—have experienced improved access to nutrition, education, and mobility
Over 20 institutional partnerships and corporate CSR collaborations have supported infrastructure, curriculum design, and digital enablement.
Partnership Opportunities: Driving Collective Impact
The InAmigos Foundation invites corporations, philanthropic institutions, and ecosystem enablers to co-create impact through structured partnerships.
Opportunities include:
Funding the establishment of skill hubs in high-need regions
Supporting enterprise starter kits and training batches through CSR allocations
Mentoring women entrepreneurs via employee volunteering and capacity-building workshops
Co-hosting exhibitions, market linkages, and rural entrepreneurship fairs
Enabling long-term research and impact analytics for policy influence
These partnerships offer direct ESG alignment, brand elevation, and access to inclusive value chains while contributing to a model that demonstrably works.
What Makes Project Udaan Unique?
Tumblr media
Unlike one-size-fits-all skilling programs, Project Udaan is rooted in real-world constraints and community aspirations. It succeeds because it combines:
Skill training aligned with current and emerging market demand
Income-first design that integrates microenterprise creation and financial access
Localized community ownership that ensures sustainability and adoption
Tech-enabled operations that ensure transparency and iterative learning
Holistic empowerment encompassing economic, social, and psychological dimensions
By balancing professional training with emotional transformation and economic opportunity, Udaan represents a new blueprint for inclusive growth.
 From Promise to Power
Project Udaan, driven by the InAmigos Foundation, proves that when equipped with tools, trust, and training, rural and semi-urban women are capable of becoming not just contributors, but catalysts for socio-economic renewal.
They don’t merely escape poverty—they design their own systems of progress. They don’t just participate—they lead.
Each sewing machine, digital training module, or microloan is not a transaction—it is a declaration of possibility.
This is not charity. This is infrastructure. This is equity, by design.
Udaan is not just a program. It is a platform for a new India.

I don't know how imminent this might be, but I would like to remind 5e homebrew writers of the Roblox-ification of d&d that will likely happen if the core VTT play style shift that WotC/Hasbro seems to want actually takes off.
Because if 5e (or 6e or whatever the play tests result in) becomes a primarily VTT game and gets mashed together with DnD Beyond so that all resources are virtual, and the DMsGuild VTT store gets merged into it (though they'll more likely make their own at that point). That's basically VTTRPG Roblox. You get a small market of creatives working on projects and games and resources for a game framework, selling their work for dramatically less than it's worth while the game publisher itself just takes in the lion's share of the money when popular modules and resources get sold.
This is part of why I think it's not going to be 5e. 5e has it own sunk cost at this point. I had liabilities and connections with virtual marketplaces and other contractual obligations. But if they make "6e" all they need to do is make the framework and only keep on software support folks and fire all their creatives while they leech money off of transactions in a fan-creator marketplace. Just like Roblox. They don't need to publish manuals or expansions or modules, because fans can do that. They get to basically recreate the ecosystem of post 4e licensing, but everyone actually still pays them dues.
Anyways. Yeah. Whenever or if it ever happens, just don't use the official WotC VTT. Doesn't matter how convenient it is. Its success is the benchmark for that shift. And it doesn't matter if corporate says they won't kill their game in that way, that is where they want to take it.
