Edit: i literally had to watch a guy answering math question for 30 minutes and our professor was kinda a bit too hard on him, and u can tell by his voice that he really wants to cry. Luckily there was another classmate who took pity and was willing to help him. I swear it was so hard to watch. The rest of my classmates were either looking at their phones or made just about any tangible objects looked interesting. They must have felt the same way too (stop being too hard on him professor 😭)

~5 hours of math later & im exhausted

Mock exams, again. This time the whole bundle of ones from 2020. Math class was cancelled today, our homework was to continue studying on our own so that’s what I did :‘) it was exhausting but also fun- tho I am getting tired of doing calculus lol I’ve reached the point of not being able to think straight so I’ll call it a night and leave studying for tomorrow.

i’m coping with my classes by putting parfies in them. parrot is horrible at labs (breaks everything) and wifies is the only person willing to pair w him but! he’s really good at theory which wifies sucks at because he’s clonefies and not human <333 they cancel each other out to get a barely passing grade

Man, this is why I always hated math class.

Khan Academy gave me this easy (or so I thought) problem to solve:

"A factory makes toys that are sold for $10 a piece. The factory has 40 workers, and they each produce 25 toys a day. The factory is open 5 days a week. What is the total value of toys the factory produces in a day?"

I said to myself, okay...

10 times 40 times 25 equals 10,000. That means the factory produces $10,000 worth of value per WORKING day.

10,000 times 5 equals 50,000. And then there are two days per week (the weekend) when no value is produced. So, per week, the total value produced is still only $50,000.

And finally, there are seven days in a full week, so $50,000 divided by 7 equals roughly $7,142.86. That's the total value of toys produced per day. Not "per work day", but "per day", as it specifically says in the problem.

But what does the teacher say as he guides us through it? 10 times 40 times 25 equals 10,000, so the answer is 10,000.

That's it. The end.

He even acknowledges: "So, you might be thinking, 'Hey wait, we didn't use all the information! We didn't use the "five days per week" information!' And yeah, as it turns out, that was information we didn't need."

'As it turns out'?! Are you kidding me right now?! I carefully read the question, precisely calculated exactly what it was asking for, taking all of the provided information into account... and now you're saying I'm supposed to have somehow magically known to ignore one of those pieces of information in order to make it easier for myself?

Just admit that your problem is worded badly, dude. UGH this kind of shit drives me crazy. Why can't people use words clearly >:(

I've been listening to people on tiktok complain about students not reading the syllabus and it was such a cultural shock because everyone knows the syllabus is a suggestion. It's in the syllabus? Syllabus in the uni system hasn't been changed in 10 years. How many homeworks are there? Probably 4 or 5...(Gives 2 homeworks, then forgets.) Will probably let you correct anything if you ask nicely and actually try unless it's like a mandatory class with 100 students. When are the exam dates? Idk just email me when during the exam period would you like to come. Want to take the exam before the exam period? No problem, send me an email. Need to do the exam after the exam period? Well as long as I have time I don't really care. There is an exercise session in the schedule? More time to do some theory! You need to get a credit to do the final exam? Will give you the credit based on vibes (has seen you attend the lecture semi-regularly and ask one question). Mandatory attendance? Do you expect me to know who goes here?
