My IDW Sonic Fancast Part 3:

I've had some rethinking about Surge and Jewel since I began rewatching Sailor Moon. But there are plenty of others I didn't cover before.

So... here we go:

"D.C. Douglas as Clutch The Opossum” - As a shady business man with a mug that just screams, "I'm bad news," a smooth and calm voice like that of Yoshikage Kira would be perfect. A cadence that would get people to let down their guard with him since he seems mean but sounds so refined. But like Yoshikage Kira, his dapper facade belies a heart of depravity.

Example:

“Michael Sorich as Nite The Owl” - While a live action role inspired me, Sorich’s performance as Woody in VR Troopers made me think of Nite. He’d be able to capture his jovial demeanor and would work brilliantly with the mounting horror of the Metal Virus in terms of mood shifts in the story.

Example:

“Amanda Celine Miller/Bennet Abara as Surge The Tenrec” - In Sailor Moon, Makoto Kino was kicked out of her school for defending others against bullies and is seen as a sukeban (delinquent girl) only for Usagi to find she’s good hearted. Amanda Celine Miller was a fan of the character and it shows in her performance as Sailor Jupiter’s new voice actress.

How would this shake out for Surge? Well, for me, I think Amanda’s smooth yet tough tone as Mako would lend itself well for the Tenrec when she’s unapologetically villainous. As if Mako really was the bad girl she was seen as.

However, in the event of Surge turning herself around, Amanda’s performance would be able to mellow out into something still Surge-y but also able to come off more heroic. A real punk if you will.

Examples:

“Derek Stephan Prince as Rough and Tumble” - Two for the price of one. Derek's voice for Impmon would fit Rough with his fast talking New Yorker voice. Given it's a Joe Pesci impression, it'd be a good callback to the wet bandits. Badabing-badaboom.

Meanwhile, the voice of Elgar from Power Rangers Turbo would be a perfect fit for the more slow-witted Tumble.

"Stephanie Sheh as Jewel The Beetle" - I feel like Sheh's performance as the ditzy Usagi Tsukino would transfer well into Jewel's neurotic sense of order as well as how she can get anxious pretty quick. Give it a bit of a nasally quality and it'd fit perfectly.

Arnies end- Book v movie

First off just want to say it’s absolutely wild to me (in a good way) this funky little book/movie about a haunted car has a active little fan base? I’m happy I get to share my ramblings with somebody you know. That being said don’t be afraid to say hi I don’t bite.

Now when I was reading, from the most part of what I remember about the movie it’s pretty accurate. At least when it comes to major story beats. If this post gets enough interested maybe I’ll make a big post going over differences. However the largest one has to be how Arnie actually dies.

⚠️hey! Like major spoilers! Literally the ending.⚠️

In the movie it’s Arnie behind the wheel during the final show down. He may not be entirely conscious about it, but from the looks of it he’s driving. Until Christine slams into Darnell’s office and sends him flying through the windshield and the big window.

Except here’s the thing… in the book that’s Micheal Cunningham and he’s already dead. See, Dennis and Leigh call to get their parents safe and out of the way of Christine’s line of fire… and Micheal does what they asks and calls everyone… but goes near the car anyway and she gets to him. Same way she does to Lebays wife (exhaust- not pretty). Christine uses the body as basically a scare dummy as he flies though the windshield the same way

Arnie? Arnie is miles away. He’s safe. At least from what Dennis knows. They are so so close to saving him. (See he’s far away because Christine… Lebay …needs a alibi. He can’t have Arnie in town otherwise theirs suspicion and he can’t be in two places at once. So the car acts on it’s on) Arnie dies in a “freak accident” with his mothers miles away. It was pointless. Christine’s gone but so is Arnie. Absolutely futile. (It even looks like they’ve been driven off the road).

Now I personally have a love hate relationship with this ending. As the whole book is being told back to us four years later. From the very beginning it’s not shy about this being a tragedy. Except , at the same time spending this whole book fighting to save Arnie and growing more concerned for him as he does distant. It hurts. I love how it makes him dying all the more impactful but at the same time- that’s my boy. He likes wonder bread and chess and watching football and working on cars. He’s just a dorky kid! Roland D. Rose Griffons Headcanons

Giving some love and recognition for my country representatives !

-They get along very well with the other European teams, especially with England’s Knights of Queen.

-Despite losing a lot in the FFI, their goalkeeper Roger Pialat is considered one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. (He even managed to create a stronger version of Galatyn).

-Despite being the captain, Pierre Godin doesn’t wear his captain’s armband very often. He said that he doesn’t really like it, to which his teammates don’t really understand.

-Pierre also considers Edgar as his soulbrother, since they both have similar personalities. The main difference is that Pierre is not an attacker at all (He did go on the attack sometimes, but only if he sees an opening in the rival’s team by his defender position).

-Pierre is always stylish and gracious no matter what. He also secretly like teasing Julien.

-Michaël Aron is the cook of the team.

-Francis Poujol wants to be an architect when he grow up.

-Kévin Pinot adores history, more specifically the Napoleonic period.

-Roland Pérec lives in Paris and just loves the atmosphere. He also loves seeing people being amazed by the city’s monuments while sipping some coffee.

-They all are mastering something already, and a lot of people from other teams are jealous of them, mostly non European teams, since the other European teams are happy for their early success (some others even have some success already too !) : Romuald Huysmans already gains well in his life by being of the most famous models worldwide. On the other hand, Stéphane Hinault is also one of the top hit singers. It’s really something to go this far already for such young people. 

-Julien Rosseau, being as pretentious as he is, believes he is the best representative of his team. On top of that, he matches with the team’s name as he always carry a rose between his teeth. The main reason of him believing that is because a lot of their supporters are saying he is the best player, and that he should be the captain, although Pierre is a great captain too (It’s probably the reason why Pierre tease him, as he is the captain). Roland even thinks it’s a bit infuriating for Julien to see Pierre without his captain’s band.

-Jérôme Hervaud has an enhanced sense of smell, giving him a special talent of creating and spotting great parfumes.

-Alain is the son of a bicycle repairman, but he hates working on them. He actually loves riding a bike and wants to participate in the Tour de France one day. His teammates are fully supportive of his dream, and they even say that football will help since he will grow stronger. They help him getting up whereas his strict father tries to bring him down.

-Alain was born in Martinique. His family decided to move out to France when he was fairly young.

-Émile goes to cinema to watch every new movies that comes out. He has a huge collection of DVD’s to a point where almost all his dining room is filled with them.

-André Pinson has been a huge fan of philosophy ever since he discovers it thanks to his dad. He wants to be a philosophy teacher when he’s older. For that, he is “training” with his teammates, but they don’t understand a lot about philosophy.

-Jean Gutain believed he was the best fashion creator, until Knights of Queen’s member Mickey Richards defeated him. So he needs to prove his talent again.

-Claude is already a great baker, he wants to expand his business worldwide when he gets older.

-Michel is great at gardening, he even cherishes roses to give some new fresh ones to Julien.
