Police in the Turkish city of Adana detained 11 suspects, five Israeli and two Syrian, on allegations of organ trafficking, the Daily Sabah reported on 5 May. The Provincial Directorate of Security's Anti-Smuggling and Border Gates Branch began investigating after examining the passports of seven individuals who arrived in Adana from Israel about a month ago by plane for the purpose of health tourism. The two Syrian nationals, ages 20 and 21, were found to have fake passports. Further investigation revealed that Syrian nationals had each agreed to sell one of their own kidneys to two of the Israeli nationals, ages 68 and 28, for kidney transplants in Adana. During searches at the suspects' residences, $65,000 and numerous fake passports were seized. Israel has long been at the center of what Bloomberg described in 2011 as a “sprawling global black market in organs where brokers use deception, violence, and coercion to buy kidneys from impoverished people, mainly in underdeveloped countries, and then sell them to critically ill patients in more-affluent nations.” The financial newspaper added, “Many of the black-market kidneys harvested by these gangs are destined for people who live in Israel.” The organ-trafficking network extends from former Soviet Republics such as Azerbaijan, Belarus, Ukraine, and Moldova to Brazil, the Philippines, South Africa, and beyond, the Bloomberg investigation showed. Accusations of Israeli involvement in organ trafficking also apply to the occupied Palestinian territories. In 2009, Sweden's largest daily newspaper, Aftonbladet, reported testimony that the Israeli army was kidnapping and murdering Palestinians to harvest their organs. The report quotes Palestinian claims that young men from the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip had been seized by the Israeli army, and their bodies returned to the families with missing organs. "'Our sons are used as involuntary organ donors,' relatives of Khaled from Nablus said to me, as did the mother of Raed from Jenin as well as the uncles of Machmod and Nafes from Gaza, who all had disappeared for a few days and returned by night, dead and autopsied," wrote Donald Bostrom, the author of the report.Bostrom also cites an incident of alleged organ theft during the the first Palestinian intifada in 1992. He says that the Israeli army abducted a young man known for throwing stones at Israeli troops in the Nablus area. The young man was shot in the chest, both legs, and the stomach before being taken to a military helicopter, which transported him to an unknown location. Five nights later, Bostrom said, the young man's body was returned, wrapped in green hospital sheets. Israel’s Channel 2 TV reported that in the 1990s, specialists at Abu Kabir Forensic Medicine Institute harvested skin, corneas, heart valves, and bones from the bodies of Israeli soldiers, Israeli citizens, Palestinians, and foreign workers without permission from relatives. The Israeli military confirmed that the practice took place, but claimed, "This activity ended a decade ago and does not happen any longer." Israel’s assault on Gaza since 7 October has provided further opportunities for the theft and harvesting of Palestinians’ organs. On 30 January, WAFA news agency reported that the Israeli army returned the bodies of 100 Palestinian civilians it had stolen from hospitals and cemeteries in various areas in Gaza. According to medical sources, inspection of some of the bodies showed that organs were missing from some of them. On 18 January, the Times of Israel reported that the Israeli army confirmed reports that its soldiers dug up graves in a Gaza cemetery, claiming its soldiers were trying to “confirm that the bodies of hostages were not buried there.”

Sims In Bloom: Generation 2 Pt. 25 (Unexpected Death Cull but then a Baby, Finally!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The town of Henford was rocked by a seniors’ river cruise disaster which killed Spencer’s grandparents Dennis and Vivian Lewis-Kim, as well as Ian and Derek Moody-McMillan, who were old friends of the Nesbitts and grandfathers to Nicola, Hazel’s bestie-turned-girlfriend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The disaster brought Everett and Spencer home to visit her family. The Nesbitts sent condolences, grateful to have been spared greater grief as the town’s fledgling riverboat tourism industry took a nosedive. Spencer met her new niece and infant Greyson got to know his aunts on the Pancakes and Kim-Lewis sides of his family.
The visit made them miss home, and they began to talk about coming home to Henford for good. For now, however, life called them back to Oasis Springs after the funerals.
Daisy was still a PlantSim, which was concerning as the effects of the forbidden fruit had worn off much slower than she expected, and River’s wedding was just around the corner. Despite this, Daisy stayed close to Heather until delivery.
Tumblr media
One evening, Heather tried to show her mother how to use accounting software for her floral business, but it wasn't going well and Heather was starting to get bored. She nonchalantly checked her phone. "You wrote a whole cookbook, Mom. You taught me how to do online research, but you can't figure out a few numbers?"
Daisy frowned. "I always let the telescope do my number-crunching for me. I really just loved gardening." She clicked something, and the program disappeared. "Oh, what now?"
"Let me." Heather leaned over her mother's shoulder. "You deleted it? How did you do that?"
Daisy shrugged in frustration. "I really don't know."
Heather opened her Recycle Bin to retrieve the deleted file when she noticed a strange folder. "VetConnect? Is this a clone? What?"
"What does that mean?"
"I...I think someone might have cloned my app files and given them to Petcare Inc."
"Who would do such a thing?"
"Other than you, no one's used my computer since...since Malcolm! I used to let him log in to send work emails. Oh my god! I could kill him!"
Daisy frowned. "Don't say that. Can you sue?"
"Against the Landgraabs? I don't even know if I could prove it was him," she said. "But I think I can fight fire with fire. My vet tech had the idea, and it took years to make the first one, but I'm going to have to work on a new app."
Tumblr media
After a family dinner in Henford, Heather finally went into labour. Daisy went with her to the hospital, where her doctor was the on-call intern, Jamar Scott, her childhood neighbour.
(And the eldest son of Henford townies Simon and Sara Scott.)
"How's life in Brindleton Bay?"
"It's really great! I love being by the sea and I really feel like the clinic was my calling."
"I know what you mean. What you do for animals is what I love to do for sims."
"And how's Malia's freelance career?"
"She loves the flexibility, and I can't say I blame her. We're talking about starting a family of our own once my residency's done and I can work better hours."
Tumblr media
Just before four in the morning, an exhausted Heather gave birth to a healthy baby boy she named Ash Neal Nesbitt. She debated the last name for months, but Malcolm hadn’t checked on her except when he needed a paternity test. And he stole her mobile app's code!
Tumblr media
Since then he’d been no better than a ghost. If he wanted to miss out on his son's life, Heather was fine with it. ->
<- Previous Chapter | Gen 2 Start | Gen 1 Summary | Gen 1 Start
NOTE: To prevent them from randomly marrying other sims I made Dennis Kim and Vivian Lewis fall in love and marry years after their kids, Eric and Alice, married and started a family (they had three girls - Olivia, Spencer, and Lydia Kim-Lewis).
NOTE 2: I made OG grocer Kim Goldbloom the adopted daughter of Ian Moody and Derek McMillan because I wanted to make all the Henford NPCs playable at the start of the game. (I also paired up Michael Bell and Cecilia Kang despite their canon bad first date, married off Agnes and Agatha and moved them in with the Pancakes after making Agatha the mother of Bob, and put Lavina and Rahul in a home in the Bramblewood. She married Paolo Rocca and had two more kids, Rahul married Rashidah Watson after graduation and they moved to Brindleton Bay to start a family.

Cambodia has a long history of performing arts that share commonalities with what is grouped under the "circus" banner nowadays. And like many of the country's ancient artforms, these traditions of acrobatics found themselves oppressed and vilified by the Khmer Rouge regime of dictator Pol Pot during the late 1970s. Inspired and supported by Maoist China, the Khmer Rouge intended to replace the country's old culture with a completely new one based on communist ideals. As such, traditional craftsmen and artists were routinely executed along with any dissidents, their relatives and even acquaintances. Cultural persecution thus became a part of one of the worst genocides of the 20th century.
Decades after this genocide, Cambodia still grapples with its consequences, not just in psychological terms but also the economic ripples of missing almost entire generations. As such, cities like Battambang, which was close to the border with Thailand and teeming with refugees, found themselves with high rates of poverty and children living on the streets. It was in this context that Phare Ponleu Selpak (PPS) was born in 1994.
A team of now adults, who had spent their childhood in refugee camps in Thailand, found themselves inspired by an art therapy program. This made them see their PPS initiative as a way to give other generations of disadvantaged children and young people the tools necessary to change their lives. While PPS's headquarters continue to be based in Battambang, their international flagship is Phare, the Cambodian Circus.
Most Phare performers may have originally lived in Battambang, but they now perform several shows per week in Siem Reap, the country's main tourist city. Their circus style takes some queues from the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil, highlighting human acrobatics and an artistic approach to their shows. Phare does not shy from references to the country's troubled history along with universal themes of strife. Phare has several shows that rotate on their performances. "Khmer Metal," for example, starts in a tourist pub the morning after a wild night, and features imagery like beer towers and drunk brawls, while "Influence" shows an authoritarian antagonist in a Mao-collared shirt.
Phare's aesthetic is a bit more DIY than Cirque du Soleil's current shows, but it is all part of their social enterprise aspects. Funds from their performances support PPS's other initiatives, which not only train future performers but also assist schools, art programs, and current performers' families. Following the massive negative impact of COVID-19 in tourism-focused Siem Reap, PPS needed an extreme act to raise additional funds for its reestablishment. It was this that led to their March 2021 performance. Including members of their Battambang and Phare crews, the show lasted just over 24 hours, earning them the still-standing (as of mid-2024) Guinness World Record for longest circus performance.

Ash Betrayed (Part -5)
"The Topic being your utter stupidity!!!!!!!" Lance said in an angry voice, shocking Ash.
"What did I do?" Ash said in a confused tone.
"Each Region's League is supposed to be independent of their National Govt! They are supposed to be answerable only to the World Championship League! Literally all the Champions supported you! I supported you! Cynthia supported you! Steven Supported you! Dinatha supported you! Leon supported you! Geeta of Paldea supported you! Kantonian Govt supported you! Johtonian Govt Supported you! Kalosian Govt supported you! The other champions were getting around gaining support of their Govts! Why couldn't you wait! I was about to call you but before I could! I found out you have send a letter to that Bastard! He purposely got the call leaked so you get emotional and stp thinking rationally!" Lance said.
"Done?" Ash asked.
"What?" Lance asked.
"Done with you ranting?" Ash asked.
"Oh Yes! You for the sake of Lillie has transferred your Championship, causing an Internal crisis in the League's structure and Constitution and encouraging other Govts to try to bring their National Leagues under their influence and I am the one who is ranting?" Lance asked.
"Listen, Lance, I understand what I have done will cause minor annoyances and attempt for power grab in the short term............................................. I will also agree when I was writing the letter, my priority was Lillie's wellbeing-" Before Ash could complete, Lance interrupted him.
"That was the only thing in your mind when you were writing it! Admit it damnit! Ash! I know Lillie is still not yet Naturalized and thus it is extremely likely that Bastard may have put every block possible in her return to Alola! But Ash, a Govt stays in Power for only 5 years! Champion stays in power until they are defeated, retired or died! You have willingly gave up an indefinite position for a temporary problem!" Lance ranted again before catching his breath. The Anger was not just because what Ash did has caused a crisis will definitely encourage other Govts to undermine the League's authority, but also because he knew becoming Alola's champion was a major thing for Ash which he had sentimentally given away.
"Done?" Ash asked again.
"Yes," Lance said.
"So listen to me, as I was saying, while writing the letter to President Wau, the first and primary priority was Lillie's wellbeing, but! There were other things going in my mind, especially the Xenophobic agenda of President Wau," Ash said.
"And?" Lance asked a little curiously.
"Listen, if I would have rejected what President Wau was asking, he would have doubled down on Anti-Kantonian and Anti-Non-Native proporganda, creating divide and hatred between Alolan Natives and Non-Native residents! This could have ended in riots unnecessary bloodshed. But Now, with me retreating, they really don't have much valid and legitimate cause to spread hate between the two groups! They have already purged Non-Natives from Govt Jobs and League Jobs. Non-Native workers in Alolan Private sector make up less than 5% of the total private workforce! Majority of Non-Natives in Alola goes there for two purposes, Tourism, which I doubt they will touch, and Education! There, they can, at most! Demand reservation here and there for native students, but other than that, not much, since foreign students are big business!" Ash explained his reasoning, Ash Lance tried to process it. Finally he sighed and said.
"You have proven me wrong once again Ash, how did you knew all this!" Lance said with a smile.
"Talked to Professor Oak and Kukai, took a little help and Gary and had a little video call with Gladion and Miss Lusamine," Ash said with a smile
"*Sigh* But, this is also true that Lillie's wellbeing preceded all of this! She may not have been my sole concern, but she was my first priority!" Ash said with a smile.
"Lillie Dear! I told you to get Ash, why are you standing here? And Are you alright? You don't look good?" Voice of Delia came from the front Door. Ash and Lance turned to see Delia and a very Red Lillie.
"What happened Mom?" Ash asked to a very concerned Delia.
"Look at her, the girl's head is hot like a frying pan (For Brock, a drying Pan)," Delia said as she put her hand on Lillie's Forehead.
"I-I-I-I-I am fine Mam!" Lillie said she tried to cover her blush with her hair.
"If you say so, but I will make fruit juice for you just in case!" Delia said as she turned to Ash.
"And Ash! See what Clemont made to help in Farm Work!" Delia said with a smile as she left.
"Cool! Science is so amazing!" Ash said as he went behind his mother. Leaving Lance and Lillie.
"He is a good kid, take care of him," Lance said to a blushing Lillie as he went behind Ash and Delia, leaving behind a very blushed Lillie with her Hands on her chest.
"Arceus my Heartbeat, It feels like my heart will blow up," Lillie said as she thought of what Ash said and smiles.
"He...................................... He is so kind................................. always thinking about everyone, always worried about everyone," Lillie said as she smiled.
Tumblr media
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And so came the the last day of Clemont and Bonnie's first journey to Kanto. They were in the Airport, Ash and the entire crew was there to see them off. Clemont shook hands with everyone and hugged Ash. Bonnie was ready to let go of Delia and Serena, but finally, she had to let go. It was the rule of Dialga. Whatever has come must be let go off. With this in Mind, Clemont and Bonnie bid their farewell and went to the plane. In the Airliner, the siblings talked about this travel, especially about Delia.
"Ash is so luck to have her........................ I wished I had a Mom," Bonnie said in a sad tone. Clemont still remembers, the day their mom died. She died at childbirth of Bonnie. Doctors could only save one, and it was a rule in Kalos that if a situation comes at childbirth in which only could be saved, all resources must be allocated to saving the Child.
After their Mom's death, Meyer proceeded to make himself busy with taking care of Bonnie, as a way to cop with Nancy's death (Clemont and Bonnie's mom). Clemont, on the other hand, took to science as a copping method.
"Yeah......................... He is very luck," Clemont said. He knew he shouldn't be saying things like this. He knew Ash also didn't have parent, his dad.................................. But he couldn't help but feel Jealous of Ash for having Delia. It was not a malicious thought, but Clemont felt guilty for feeling it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ketchum's Residence now only have Ash, Delia, Brock, Misty, Lillie, Serena, Dawn, Pikachu and of course, Mr Mime, who I definitely haven't left out till now because I forgot about him.
Ash, Brock, Pikachu and Gary (who was a daily visitor now) were watching TV, Delia and Mr Mime were cooking food and Misty and the three girls were in lake near to the Ketchum's residence.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I told you this will be fun!" Misty said as she splashes water on Lillie. The girls were playing in the lake.
"Yeah yeah, but I am tired now," Lillie said.
"Same here," Serena added as all four retreated to the warm ground.
"So, Misty, how is it going with Gary," Dawn asked, making Misty blush.
"W-W-What? What do you mean?" Misty asked.
"Oh please, it is clear you two like each other! So tell na! You are dating or not?" Dawn said.
"I-I am not answering this!" Misty said as she turned her head to hide her blush.
"This is cheating, you ask us about our feelings for Ash and it is fine, we ask yours and it is wrong?" Serena said blushing, thinking about Ash.
"So you three do agree that you have crush on Ash!" Misty tried to change topic but it didn't work.
"Yeah we three agreed that us walking out that day probably left no doubt about it so we will not even pretend it anymore," Dawn said.
"Now your turn," Lillie said with a smirk.
"Damnit!" Misty said.
"So, do you like him?" Dawn asked with a sly smile.
"I.................................... I.......................... I-
Boom! Another cliffhanger!

Our Flag Means Death Season 2
The New Zealand Film Commission and Tourism New Zealand partner with Max for season two of Our Flag Means Death to showcase New Zealand to international audiences.
Tumblr media
Fast Facts
96% New Zealand crew
78% New Zealand cast
Production based at Kumeu Film Studios
Post-production took place in Auckland
10 New Zealand HODs
67 shoot days
35 sets built
780 Crew
Our Flag Means Death is executive produced by creator-showrunner David Jenkins and Emmy®-nominated star and New Zealander Taika Waititi. In addition to his duties as showrunner, Jenkins directed the first two episodes of season two. Garrett Basch, Dan Halsted, Adam Stein, and Antoine Douaihy also serve as executive producers. Production for the show moved from Los Angeles to New Zealand for its second season.
Our Flag Means Death stars New Zealanders Taika Waititi, Rhys Darby and David Fane, as well as Madeleine Sami (most recently of the Australian mystery-comedy Deadloch) and Samoan-born Anapela Polataivao.
Many of the key creatives and department heads are New Zealanders, including writer Maddie Dai, production designer Ra Vincent, hair and makeup designer Nancy Vincent and art decorator Megan Vertelle. Together, this talented team elevated Our Flag Means Death, contributing their individual expertise to create a visually stunning and emotionally engaging viewing experience. Of the 780 crew contracted onto the show, 350 worked full time.
Creative talent and picturesque landscapes were key motivators for the move Down Under. Showrunner David Jenkins said “We were looking at the season two budget and asking ‘How do you get the most money on screen?’ New Zealand was the answer. I’ve seen more of our budget end up on screen than it did in the U.S. in season one.”
New Zealand also added a breath-taking backdrop to the swashbuckling adventures of the crew. The lush greenery and stunning coastline provided the perfect setting for the 67-day shoot in Auckland at the end of 2022. There were around 50 sets involved, including the 30-acre forest behind the Kumeu Film Studio, Piha Beach, Howick Historical Village and the wild, black sand Bethells Beach.
And there’s one returning figure impossible to miss on the soundstage: The Revenge, the stately ship that Stede Bonnet and Blackbeard (a.k.a. Ed) commandeered at the end of season one. In real life, it was carefully transported across the Pacific Ocean from the show’s original Los Angeles soundstage. The Revenge is approximately 7m x 28m and there were 3x boat sets that were used to create 10 different boats. The production shot in the Dive Tank at Kumeu Film Studios, built a floating market in the Republic of Pirates, and provided storm water effects for The Revenge.
vimeo
Virtual Production
Given that many scenes in Our Flag Means Death take place on the deck of a ship at sea, virtual production was the most practical and cost-effective way of filming.
Virtual production is the process of generating motion picture or computer-generated photorealistic imagery displayed on a dynamically active large scale LED wall to create a ‘virtual’ environment or location on a soundstage.
Surrounding the ship was a giant “volume” wall comprised of 1700 LED monitors displaying a photorealistic ocean background with rolling waves. As a crane-mounted camera weaved around, the images on the digital display moved with it, creating a seamlessly integrated backdrop.
The New Zealand vendors that worked on the screen were NEP Sweetwater, NEP Big Picture, Riggaz with Attitudes, Theatrical Solutions, Xytech and Disguise.
The creative benefit of shooting on the volume wall was that the production could shoot in multiple locations and times of day all within just a few hours. Additionally, the actors could interact with what they are seeing and the lighting shifted in real time.
Careful planning of scenes and shots resulted in the rapid and efficient deployment of a select number of pre-processed moving plates (backgrounds) on set. Paihia, Bay of Islands, Mercer Bay Loop and Waitakere were among the New Zealand locations featured in the plate shots.

The New Zealand Screen Production Rebate - (International) and 5% Uplift
The New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC) and Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) partnered with Max on season two of the show as a part of the New Zealand Screen Production Grant 5% Uplift.
The partnership recognised the significant economic, cultural and industry benefits the Our Flag Means Death production brought to New Zealand. This included a marketing partnership with TNZ and NZFC to promote New Zealand as a tourism and filmmaking destination. It also included a knowledge-sharing programme related to the LED Volume Wall used during production, and collaborations with New Zealand-based virtual production companies and a wider industry workshop.
The 5% Uplift has now been redeveloped:It’s simple to navigate, and the criteria is clearer and more objective. Has increased opportunities to earn points in the test. Has increased weighting on New Zealand screen workforce development and production activity. Recognises repeat business to encourage studios and productions to return. Introduces sustainability criteria to support Aotearoa New Zealand’s shift to a low-emissions economy.
Applications open for the redeveloped 5% Uplift on 1 November 2023, documentation and guidance will be provided before this date.
The New Zealand Film Commission administers the NZSPR for International Productions on behalf of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
The purpose of the NZSPR for International Productions is to incentivise the production of foreign and domestic large budget films, television and other format productions in New Zealand in order to provide economic and industry development benefits to New Zealand. More information here.
A domestic rebate is also available to New Zealand productions and Official Co-productions. Click here for more information.
About Our Flag Means Death
Our Flag Means Death is based (very) loosely on the true adventures of 18th century would-be pirate Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby). After trading the seemingly charmed life of a gentleman for one of a swashbuckling buccaneer, Stede became captain of the pirate ship Revenge. Struggling to earn the respect of his potentially mutinous crew, Stede’s fortunes changed after a fateful run-in with the infamous Captain Blackbeard (Taika Waititi). To their surprise, the wildly different Stede and Blackbeard found more than friendship on the high seas…they found love. Now, they have to survive it.
In New Zealand, season two debuts on Neon on October 6 and is coming soon to Sky Open.

Molly, do you have any sense of why Bridgerton was having premieres and events in Bowral this week? Am I as a non-Australian person missing something about why that place was chosen? Or is it completely random to you too?
Mmmm it’s not completely random but it’s very unexpected as well?
Mostly because Netflix doesn’t care a huge deal about the international community when it’s marketing, especially for big shows. The Australian/trans Tasman Market is relatively small by comparison so they don’t put a whole lot of energy into catering for it so I’m surprised that one of the first events was… in Australia. Like… why?
As for Bowral, it’s a historic town, there’s lots of historic buildings there so it passes the vibe check. They’re not going to have it somewhere like Sovereign Hill I guess (L-O-L).
That being said, I still don’t know why they’re doing it in Australia when it would make much more sense to have it in the UK. Like… there’s historic towns there as well. And you know, with the whole it being set there thing it makes more sense.
The truth of the matter is probably that the New South Wales (The state Bowral is in) probably paid them to do it here. Australia is trying to make a real push for tourism again as it’s an industry that’s sort of dipped post pandemic and we’re tryna get it back. We even paid for that train guy from instagram to come over to see the trains.
I… yeah.
Never been to Bowral though, I’m think I’m too poor for that area of the country

The Tibet Visa Permit: Your Gateway to the Roof of the World
The Tibet Visa Permit China, also known as the Tibet Travel Permit or the Tibet Entry Permit, is an important document that allows you to enter the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR). Because of its delicate political status and environmental vulnerability, this restricted region is subject to particular rules. The permit allows the Chinese government to track and manage the amount of visitors that enter the region.
Tumblr media
Why Is a Tibet Visa Required?
Regulatory Prerequisite: To enter the TAR, the Chinese government requires all international visitors, including tourists, journalists, and researchers, to get a Tibet Visa. Anyone wishing to visit Tibet must have this permission.
Environmental Protection: The Tibetan Plateau is environmentally vulnerable, and tourism may have a substantial environmental impact. The permit serves to restrict the flow of tourists, ensuring the long-term viability of this one-of-a-kind habitat.
Political Sensitivity: Tibet has a complicated political history and continuing concerns. Because of fears about political protests and turmoil, the permission allows Chinese authorities to monitor and regulate who visits Tibet.
Tibet: What to Expect
Here's what to expect once you've obtained your Tibet Permit and are ready to go on your adventure to this breathtaking region:
Beautiful scenery: Tibet's sceneries are stunning, with towering mountains, tranquil lakes, and wide plateaus. Don't miss out on spectacular sights like Potala Palace and Mount Everest.
Immerse yourself in Tibetan culture by visiting monasteries, attending local festivals, and interacting with the kind and warm Tibetan people.
Be prepared for great altitude, since Lhasa, Tibet's capital, situated at an elevation of roughly 3,656 meters (11,990 feet). To avoid altitude sickness, gradually acclimate.
Respect for Culture: Tibet is a very spiritual and religious region. Respect local traditions, customs, and important locations.
youtube
Conclusion Obtaining a Tibet Visa Permit may appear to be a difficult procedure, but the benefit of seeing Tibet's unique and stunning scenery and culture is well worth the effort. You may begin on a journey to the "Roof of the World" that you will remember for a lifetime if you follow the proper procedures and respect the local customs and rules. Remember to prepare ahead, enjoy the experience, and savor Tibet's unique beauty.

“This is a very high number that encompasses many sectors. About 77 percent of the businesses that have been closed since the beginning of the war, which make up about 35,000 businesses, are small businesses with up to five employees, and are the most vulnerable in the economy,” Yoel Amir, CEO of Israeli information services and credit risk management firm, CofaceBdi, told Maariv. The report adds that “the most vulnerable industries are the construction industry, and as a result also the entire ecosystem that operates around it: ceramics, air conditioning, aluminum, building materials, and more – All of these were significantly damaged,” according to CofaceBdi’s risk ratings. The trade sector has also been severely affected. This includes the service sector and industries including fashion, furniture, housewares, entertainment, transport, and tourism. Israel is in a situation where “there is almost no foreign tourism,” the report said, adding that “damage to businesses is all over the country, and almost no sector has been spared.” This includes the agriculture sector, which is based mainly in the south and the north – both considered active combat zones due to the threat posed by the Palestinian resistance and Lebanon’s Hezbollah – whose support front against Israel has significantly contributed to the downfall of the economy. The CofaceBdi CEO estimates that 60,000 Israeli businesses are expected to be shut down by the end of 2024.

News from Newfoundland and Labrador, 14 July
1. Police continue to investigate stabbing in St Johns in Topsail Road.
A 34-year-old man was seriously injured in a stabbing in the west end of St. John’s.
The assault took place between Bay Bulls Road and Topsail Road.
Police are urging anyone with information or video footage of the area during the specified time to come forward.
2. A man from Bell Island is facing charges after being caught on 12 July with drugs in a car which was pulled over for speeding.  He was driving while his licence was suspended and showing signs of driving impaired.
3. Near miss at Braya refinery.  A Stop-work order has not been issued by the department.
Occupational Health and Safety is investigating a "near-miss" incident at the Braya refinery in Come By Chance, involving drilling on a repurposed line that had previously been in nitrogen service.
The line was not in service or under pressure at the time of the incident, and internal analysis was conducted before sharing the findings with OHS and employees.
This incident comes almost a year after a fatal explosion at the refinery, which resulted in a criminal negligence investigation by the RCMP.
4.  Clean-up underway after an unexpected tornado in Half Moon Bay.
5. Electrically-serviced campsites in loops A and B of Newman Sound Campground in Terra Nova Park are currently without power.
6. Oceana Canada is concerned about DFO’s failure to close Capelin Fishery [via VOCM].
OC says that the Canadian government, specifically the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO), is not effectively incorporating climate change data and research into fisheries management decisions, which is exacerbating the depletion of fish stocks.
7. Candidate Tony Wakeham is releasing his healthcare plan for connecting residents with a primary provider for healthcare.
Tony Wakeham's health care plan focuses on improving access to timely care in Newfoundland and Labrador by connecting every resident with a primary health care provider and establishing family health care teams.
The plan prioritizes job offers to health care professionals at the beginning of their training to address the shortage of healthcare providers in the province.
Wakeham emphasizes the urgency of addressing the lack of access to health care and believes that waiting for the long-term vision of the Health Accord is not feasible for the province.
8. Musgrave Harbour failed to respond to two access to information requests, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner has found [per VOCM].
9. It is peak tourism for Newfoundland and Labrador right now. Business has picked up but the sector still faces challenges, including air access [per VOCM].
Small businesses in the hospitality industry, such as restaurants and tour companies, are relying on a busy summer season to help cover costs and repay loans taken out during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Staffing shortages, inflation, and rising food prices are adding to the challenges faced by businesses in the summer, but increased tourism can help offset these difficulties.
Business owners are implementing strategies such as menu changes, hiring immigrants, and raising prices to adapt to the current economic conditions and make the most of the summer season.

Lisa Marie Hoefener, 19 (USA 1970)
“Even though I was still wet behind the ears, I know that this pale, frightened little girl was still 10 weeks pregnant and her blood count was only half of what it should be. The private, attending doctor came in and took the patient to surgery immediately that night, where he repaired the hole that had been torn in the back of her uterus, which had caused her massive internal hemorrhage.
Over the course of the next few days, infection set in which did not respond to antibiotics, and we made the painful decision to perform a hysterectomy. Tragically, the shock from the infection severely damaged her lungs and her course was steadily downhill. As I helplessly watched, she slipped into unconsciousness and a few days later she died.”
— Dr. Paul Jarrett, one of the doctors who tried to save Lisa.
Tumblr media
Many women and girls were killed by legal abortion before Roe v. Wade. California and New York’s laws legalized abortion early, killing people from across the country as they were attracted by the lure of abortion tourism.
One of these people was 19-year-old Lisa Marie Hoefener. She was an intelligent student who was well-known in Shelbyville, where she’d lived with her family until she left for college. She was a graduate of Shelbyville High School, where she won the Vestavna Award as the highest-ranking girl scholar and winner of the PPG Industries Scholarship. At SHS, she served as chairman of the Teenagers' Program for the March of Dimes Foundation in Shelby County and helped with the Sunshine Society program for Danny Thomas' St. Jude's Hospital Fund. She was named a Hoosier Scholar for two years in a row at Indiana University, where she was enrolled when she died.
The intelligent and hard-working teenage girl was a sophomore in college when she became pregnant. Lisa didn’t know what to do, and she ended up on a plane to New York for a “safe and legal” abortion.
The abortionist began the first-trimester suction and curettage abortion, but did not remove the placenta or any part of Lisa’s baby. He told Lisa that she wasn’t pregnant in the first place (indicating that she hadn’t been examined) and sent her home.
When she got back to Indianapolis, Lisa suffered from vomiting, nausea and intense abdominal pain. She was admitted to the Indiana University Medical Center’s William G. Coleman hospital. A doctor performed a laparotomy with disturbing results.
Lisa actually was pregnant, approximately 10 weeks along. Her baby was still inside her uterus, which had a hole ripped in it.
Emergency surgery was done to fix the hole in Lisa’s uterus, but she was already sick and suffered from respiratory shock. She’d been bleeding internally and her blood count was dangerously low. Lisa’s condition deteriorated and the infection resisted antibiotics. She had to undergo a hysterectomy, but the shock from her infection damaged her lungs so severely that she developed bilateral pneumonia. There was nothing the doctors could do to save Lisa and they could only watch as the terrified girl died slowly and painfully.
Lisa Marie was referred to as Yvonne Roe by researchers until she was identified through death records and her death certificate.
