When it comes to Deities, I often find myself reading about Greek and Norse gods and goddesses. How do I make contact and communicate with deities?
Hey! Honestly same? I love the Greek deities, especially Athena. ❤I haven’t researched into the Norse deities yet, but they’re definitely on my list somewhere after the Egyptian deities.
How to communicate with Gods/Goddesses
One thing to remember is that worship of the Greek/Norse deities is not subject to practice for witches only. You don’t have to be a witch to worship them or communicate with them. I only say this because I really only ever see witches posting about working with these deities, but you definitely don’t need to use witchcraft to try to communicate with them.
Research first - If you’ve read from a few different sources and think you understand what a deity is about, find 5 more sources. Keep digging. There is so much to learn about the Gods; you won’t be able to get a clear vision of who they are and what they are like just by reading from one source. And mix up your sources! Go to the library, read books about them, etc. Don’t just rely on web sources. Here are some to get you started:
Info on Greek Gods/Goddesses [X] [X] [X] [X] [X]
Info on Norse Gods/Goddesses [X] [X] [X] [X] [X]
Prayer - Praying is a really easy way to communicate with deities. It doesn’t have to be well thought out, you can do it anywhere, and it doesn’t need to take up a whole bunch of time. Just relax, close your eyes if needed, and talk to them as if talking to a friend! Introduce yourself, tell them about yourself, ask about them, etc. You can’t jump into a new relationship and expect to be best friends from the get go, it takes time. And don’t worry, they hear you! Sometimes I will meditate and ask a deity for a sign that they hear me, and more often than not, I’ll receive a sign from them. Athena dang near blinded me once. (But just because you may not receive a sign doesn’t mean they aren’t listening!)
Altar - Setting up an altar is a great way to give them offerings and utilize their energies in spell work. The altar doesn’t need to be big or fancy, even just a picture and some candles would do, anything that reminds you of them or feels right. Looking up a deity’s correspondences/likes helps when doing this.
Grimoire - Dedicating a page in your grimoire/BoS/BoM is a great way to thank them for all they do for you and document their story/your journey working with them. Maybe set your grimoire out on your deity’s altar space flipped to that page to show them your work!
Symbols - Know your deity’s symbols and keep them in your life. For example, I keep a lot of owl and snake symbols present in my life to represent Athena. I have figurines, drawings, etc. It’s a good reminder to yourself to thank them on top of asking them for guidance.
REMINDER: Don’t overwhelm yourself and try to work with too many deities at once. It can be pretty tough to sort out and understand at first, so take it slow.

CHAPTER 8 aka “Here comes the sun”
SPOILERS are sprinkled around extremely liberally for The Property of Hate
Masterpost here
“Day 4 everybody! The sun is shining, the tree’s a sun, and it’s time to start a new-
*gasp* the tree’s a sun
THE TREE’S A SUN
*wicked witch voice* ITS MEEEEELTING
oh very funny tellyman
and i SWEAR TO GOD if this is some kind of sick FORESHADOWING where Hero and RGB get separated and don’t appear on the same pages as each other-
oh hey i didn’t notice the Deer on this panel; RGB’s hanging onto its ear
So if the tree was sick and it’s also the heart of the sun... could we say the tree had heart disease?
ok and it also turns out that the whole deer thing is because ‘hart’ is another term for them so could we ALSO say that the tree is a heart of harts?
Izzit me or does Assok’s speech here have greeny-yellow mixed in there? …TOby???
The entire look of the tree and RGB doing a slip’n’slide on it implies a very... meaty texture to me so uh congrats mod thanks i hate it
OH FUC I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THIS REMINDS OF
MOTHERFUCKING MEAT CIRCUS AAAAAAAAA-
This entire page is huge fucking mood. That’s me @the world in my head every time I’m about to do something Stupid n’ Sketchy™
its also the first time we see the frankly DELIGHTFUL dynamic of RGB being like “oh god oh fuck why” and Hero going “YEEEEEEEAAA”. Hero loves rollercoasters and RGB won’t be dragged on one for anything less than certain death otherwise.
LOOKIT that big grin. she seems to smile WAY more in the latter half of the current comic and honestly. Yes. we need more of that
Oh deer. What a staggering outcome. Guess we’re getting right to the hart of the matter huh.
So RGB asks how Hero knew it was sick, and the answer was it had no leaves- the tree’s by the Pool of Tears in chapter 2 during the daytime didn’t have leaves either, but began to grow more near the end of it- are those tree’s sickened as well? OH- this could explain why the Fears were able to wander around in such a forested area
Have to wonder… tree’s are powerful. What could stop one from dreaming like that?
OH. OF COURSE. RGB’s already given us the answer- Nothing. The gooey stuff that was coating the tree, the [-----], is just another form of Nothing! Even more damningly, biting through the strand so the sun could balloon away renders Hero’s tongue temporarily numb.
“You didn’t swallow any did you”- oh motherfucker that’s foreshadowing to when Hero really does accidentally swallow Nothing in the Elastic Valley storm, which erodes her voice from black text to white
So the next question is why did the [-----] melt so SUDDENLY? Black was left behind from Hero’s Fun Impalement Adventure, which smacks far more of Fear stuff than dream/nightmare residue, both of which are colorful, yet Dreams have the healing properties and Hero dreaming in the tree may have even helped the thawing
going on the assumption black = Fear shenanigans, have we found something stronger than Nothing? is this- oh come on. is this a rock-paper-scissors scenario?
Nothing beats Trees, Trees beat Fears, Fears beat Nothing?
on that note I should point out that Hero’s night of rest and dreaming has indeed closed back up her schism
absolutely everybody: how the FUCK did that DUMBASS-
and like they all know it’s THAT dumbass. they all look at the BULLSHIT happening in the sky and say “i don’t know how but i KNOW RGB is in the thick of that nonsense”
RGB rekted counter = 4
and promptly rekted yet again (5)
Ok, we confirm that [-----] is an insulator- a weaker form of Nothing, then. Not enough to destroy the sun-tree, but definitely enough to encase, sicken, and weaken it.
K but [------] as censorship, anyone?
!! Assok’s voice is numb too. How did I miss this bit of the story, did I just skim over it last time? Assok’s voice is the way it is because it’s numb, it could only have gotten numb by chomping on [-----], Assok came out of a crack in the [-----] to investigate Hero’s crying... my god
im such a dummy i finally get it. Assok’s been chipping away at the [-----] trying to keep the sun alive
kids are honestly such little shits; mod really nails this aspect of Hero directly on the head
truly they are made for each other- one shit kid and one bastard man.
OH OKAY I thought Assok threw themselves at RGB’s face in retaliation for yelling at Hero for essentially tazing him but that’s not it- its STATIC CLING
And tally that 6 for the RGB ‘slapstick-comedy Bad Man gets thrown around’ counter
ITS JULIENNE! Aint NOBODY got ANYTHING on her KNIFE FEET
fuckin. the sound effects. step+stab = stap. amazing
bruh i love her speech. i look at it and i taste cherry chocolate. even the shards around the boxes and that haphazardly make speech tails looks like chocolate shavings
Julienne and Melody’s designs are both INCREDIBLE tbh. julienne and click are probably my favorites out of the entire cast. you look at them and you INSTANTLY what they are about
and yet there are surprises
...... shitpost idea
and the candyfloss poke at my head, no fun! i said Julienne- mmgh!- stop it now
RGB looks like he has wings this entire page and I think that’s beautiful. the entire ‘fight scene’ between him and Julienne is utterly fantastic
Hero just calmly going fishing. Serenely stares down the knife Julienne tries to stab through her upon Jules realizes RGB’s gone and kidnapped ANOTHER WHOLE KID but relenting the INSTANT Hero says hello, pats, and flatters her
this chapter is really delivering on the “RGB gets slammed around” aspect of my TPoH enjoyment. I didn’t think we’d hit double digits this quick but that makes 10
Melody, bass-boosted: MY WIFE
as a musician i adore Melody with my entire being and i would die for her. every time i read her FORTE i’m assaulted with the auditory memory of myself and the rest of the trumpet section seeing a “triple forte” note written in our music sheets and as one blasting it in exactly the way the composer surely intended: discordant chaos
aaaaa her foghorn blast includes sheet music in the background!! i wonder from what piece
her speechbubbles be yellow, with short, stout tails and a circular box
is there anything better than seeing just the barest hint of Hero at the top of one panel before she slams into RGB in the next?
Assok’s QUADRUPLE FORTE on the other hand sounds like 50 CHILDREN SCREAMING THEIR OWN COMMENTS AT ONCE FOR A SOLID THIRTY SECONDS
it’s all stuff we’ve heard before looks like: “snice”, “koh ping”, “eediotic”, “damninably frah ghile”, “j ustryin toolwek affrew”, “justav to trusttmi”
dsvjkfkfhh- special fuckin shoutout to “AI DOOHAIT TOOHAFF TORAIMSMA VOYCE” for being the ONE thing in all caps aka the time RGB, uh, raised his voice
join me next time for some QUALITY DUNKING ON RGB. just absolutely roasting him

Quote
Although Hart was delighted with the results, he had to admit—along with the “honest” destroyer officers, “that they did not do nearly enough damage.” This severe appraisal sprang from the view that the flushdeckers had encountered a perfect opportunity and had they “done everything just right, [they could have] sunk everything that the Japs had there.” In this appraisal we may discern the effects of adrenaline as clearly as sober analysis. It was unlikely, under even the most perfect circumstances, for the destroyers steaming at high speed in pitch darkness, firing old World War I–era torpedoes, and armed with undersized main battery guns, to have destroyed all fifteen of the enemy transports. Nonetheless, their results were quite respectable: they had sunk or incapacitated Sumanoura Maru, Kuretake Maru, Tatsugami Maru, and P-37—the bomb-damaged Nana Maru burned herself out before going under the waves—and they had ravaged both Asahisan Maru and Kumagawa Maru, while the intrepid Groeneveld’s K-XVIII sank Tsuruga Maru on her own. It was believed that their torpedo attacks should have been more effective, but given the age and performance characteristics of the Mark 8–Mod. 3 torpedo, this seems unrealistic, too. In any case, the Japanese were not about to let the forces of ABDA rest on their laurels for any length of time. Balikpapan was taken in spite of these reverses, and the enemy’s timetable suffered no appreciable setback. In the Western press, though—starved for positive news in the weeks after the disasters at Pearl Harbor, Luzon, and Malaya—needlessly fulsome accolades came soon enough. Within a fortnight Life magazine ran a full-page article titled “The Sea Battle off Makassar Strait” and wrote that it had been “a modern kind of sea engagement that may rank in results with Jutland and Lepanto. . . . The Japs assembled in the Celebes Sea a great armada of perhaps 100 ships. They carried probably 100,000 soldiers.” This colorful padding was followed by more of the same, although leavened with a teaspoon of truth: “On January 23 the huge fleet poked into the north end of Makassar Strait. It was hit at once by American-made bombers flown by Dutchmen.” Following a description of the raid, more inflated claims were made: “By January 28, at the most conservative count, they had sunk 13 ships and damaged 18 more, drowning thousands of Japs.” Continuing to engage in wishful thinking, the article next surmised that Allied forces “may have hit the [enemy] aircraft carrier, so that the Japs had almost no air protection.” This exaggerated reporting was rampant throughout the early months of the war in the Pacific, and while not confined merely to the Western press, it was especially unfortunate in the East Indies, where civilians were led to believe that a far more energetic and successful campaign was being conducted than was the case.

Modernized Classics: 1964 Corvette Daily Driver With LS Power
Chevrolet built 22,229 Corvettes in 1964—8,304 coupes and 13,925 roadsters. Even after accounting for over a half a century’s worth of losses to collision, theft, and attrition, there are still plenty left today to satisfy restorers and customizers alike. Better yet, when we use the term “customizer” in 2019, we’re mostly talking about resto-modders, a.k.a. folks who tastefully retain and respect the external appearance, but go wild under the skin with chassis, suspension, interior comfort, brakes, and driveline upgrades.
But it wasn’t so long ago when customizers (often spelled with a “k”) turned the equation around, grafting hideous fiberglass wings, scoops, flares, and spoilers on the plastic body while leaving everything mechanical alone. Sadly, the result was often clownish and gaudy. But times and tastes have changed since they locked up Manual Noriega.
So, as much as we all love and respect a perfectly restored 1964 Rochester fuelie (1,325 built) or N03 “tanker” coupe (the 36-gallon fuel tank appealed to endurance road racers who didn’t have to stop as often to refuel), the plain truth remains, the rest of the Corvette herd is ripe for upgrading.
In stock trim, 1964 Corvettes just don’t drive as well as they look. Few vintage cars do. Though diehards don’t mind carburetors with manual choke cables, or drum brakes that put you in the next lane when stabbed, the core of the classic car audience has been spoiled by the new car experience. Today’s auction block results prove most buyers will pay much more for a nicely resto-modded Corvette (or Tri-Five Chevy, Baby T-Bird, 1965-’73 Mustang, GTO, etc.) than a concourse correct relic sitting on skinny 6.70-15 white walls.
Thanks to the fact GM used the same basic underpinnings on all C2 and C3 Corvettes built from 1963 through 1982, a thriving aftermarket has evolved to add modern upgrades beneath the skin of any vintage Corvette. Sure, some purists may cringe, but happily most of what’s done to these cars is reversible. In this story, let’s examine how Josh and Eric Buzzell of NextGen Performance in Spencer, Massachusetts brought a 1964 Sting Ray roadster into the 21st century with some basic—but much needed—modifications.
As delivered to NextGen Performance, the subject wore a 1966-’67 big-block “stinger” hood, side pipes, and American Racing Torq-Thrust D rims mounting 15-inch radial tires. The imposter even had the audacity to wear the sacred 4-2-7 scoop logo above its mouse-sized heart. Blasphemy! The 427 didn’t arrive until 1966.
The take-out engine (behind LS3) was bolted to a Muncie M20 wide-ratio 4-speed of unknown origin. The replacement LS3 is coupled to a new Tremec TKO-600 5-speed manual gearbox with overdrive.
Looking past the left rear brake rotor, the Ridetech control arm’s bridge-like construction is contoured to allow 10-inch tires to fit with ease.
Soon after being modernized by NextGen Performance, the roadster was purchased by comedian Kevin Hart, who from the looks of his Instagram page, is quite happy with it!
Eric and Josh Buzzell operate NextGen Performance and prove the future of Car Crafting is safe for years to come. They can help with your next LS engine swap.

Engine: The Corvette initially arrived at NextGen Performance with a mild 327 (that’s an old school 5.3L for any metric fans), but it wouldn’t last long. A 2008 was a good year for standard Corvette power plants; the base 6.0 liter / 364 cube LS2 grew into the 6.2 liter / 374 cube LS3, thanks to a factory 0.060 inch overbore (from 4.00 to 4.060), 10.7:1 compression, 42-lb/hr. fuel injectors, rectangular-shaped intake ports, hollow intake valve stems, and more. In bone-stock trim, the LS3 delivers 430 horsepower and 424 lb-ft of torque. Best of all, its all-aluminum construction slashes 50 pounds off the Corvette’s nose compared to the outgoing iron mouse. More good news is the fact the stock Corvette front dress fits the 1964 frame and engine bay without mods. The only deviation was elimination of the power steering system and AC.
Induction: The new-for-2008 Corvette LS3 induction system included a fresh intake manifold design capable of flowing 365 cfm with no modifications. For comparison, before the 2008 revamp, the best Corvette intake manifold was the 320cfm unit found atop the 2001-’04 LS6. By the way, this “best of” statement covers Corvette intake manifolds all the way back to the first triple-Rochester side-draft carburetor unit of 1953 as well as the high-rise Winters Foundry goodies of the L88 era. We truly are living in the “good old days” right now! To package the K&N conical air filter away from radiator heat and the upper radiator hose, NextGen’s Eric Buzzell fabricated a nifty aluminum gooseneck from three sections of tube. He says: “Air inlet temperature tumbles from over 180 degrees to the same temperature the driver is breathing.” This cooler air is denser and best for performance. The stock 2008 throttle body was retained. On SMG Motoring’s Dynojet chassis dyno, the red ’64 roadster delivered 351 horsepower at 5,450 rpm and 375.13 lb-ft at 4,500 rpm.
Transmission: Though not indicated by codes presented on the body tag, clues suggest this car was born with a manual transmission. The 3-speed manual was still standard Corvette fare right through the 1969 model run, and this feature car was upgraded from a wide-ratio M20 Muncie to a brand new Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual with overdrive and a 525-hp rated Street Comp clutch kit. Using a complete kit from Hurst Driveline with a Hurst Sidewinder II shift handle conversion assured trouble-free installation. Until the 1984 arrival of the Doug Nash-supplied 4+3 manual transmission option, no Corvette came from GM with overdrive.
Rearend: The 1964 Corvette offered axle ratios of 3.08, 3.36, 3.55, 3.70, 4.11, and 4.56:1, with 3.36:1 being most popular (installed on 8,338 out of 22,229 cars). Not surprisingly, the feature car has the 3.36:1 setup, which was refreshed with new bearings and a rebuilt Positraction unit. About that Posi, before Positraction became standard equipment in 1970, Corvette buyers paid an extra $43.05 for the pleasure of smoking both rear tires. In 1964, Posi was a very popular option with 18,279 out of 22,229 buyers asking for it. Of course that means 3,950 1964 Corvettes were “one wheel wonders..
Chassis / Suspension: The original 1964 frame was in excellent condition and required only a cleaning before being powder coated black by Central Connecticut Coatings of Hartford, CT. The stock Sting Ray suspension was a radical departure when introduced in 1963. Up front, Corvette finally got away from the king pin suspension used since 1953. Lacking anti-dive geometry, the king pin setup hurt road course handling and was high on Corvette Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov’s list of fixes. The new-for-’63 front suspension featured ball joints (Chevy passenger cars got them in 1955) and stamped control arms from the full-size (Impala, Biscayne) parts bin. Out back, Duntov’s wish for independent rear suspension (IRS) was also granted—but with compromises. The heavy transverse leaf spring weighed anywhere from 44 to 60 pounds, depending on which suspension option was chosen. A fix in the form of a nifty 8-lb. plastic spring arrived in 1981—a little late to have much effect on Corvette’s racing legacy. All of the factory stuff was replaced in favor of a Ridetech coilover system for 1963-’67 Corvettes. With four-corner coilover shocks and rugged tubular / bridge girder control arms with a rear Muscle Bar, the bolt-in system offers superior handling with less flex and mass than stock.
Brakes: Many Corvette fans forget that four-wheel disc brakes didn’t arrive until 1965. Before that, all Corvettes used 11-inch drums all the way around. Borrowed from the full-size Chevy parts bin, they were prone to fade in competition settings which led to a series of fixes involving air ducts, backing-plate scoops, metallic shoes, and finned iron drums. None of it begins to compare to the four-corner Wilwood disc brake conversion kit installed by NextGen. With drilled rotors and six-piston / four-piston (F/R) calipers at each wheel, Duntov would have loved it.
Exhaust: The Corvette’s first factory installed N14 side mount exhaust system – that’s side pipes to you and me – wasn’t offered until 1965 for an extra $134.50. And they were not popular. Only 759 of the 23,564 Corvettes built in ’65 got them. But in the years since, they’ve become a popular add-on. Already present when the car arrived at NextGen Performance, the guys decided to retain them to let the LS3 exhale a little better. They’re fed by the stock cast iron LS3 manifolds. Before the 1965 arrival of side pipes, 1963-’68 Corvette order forms listed the N11“off road exhaust system”. These are not side pipes, but rather a louder system with larger tubing and low restriction mufflers. The N11 setup ran the entire length of the car and exited in the usual spot through the rear valance panel.
Wheels/Tires: Weld Racing worked with NextGen Performance to adapt Weld’s new 18-inch Miramar wheel design for C2 applications. The 18×7 and 18×8 (F/R) wheels are offset 4.5 and 5.25 inches (F/R) to clear suspension and brake obstructions. If you like the Miramar design and want them for your 1963-’67 Sting Ray, thank Weld Racing and NextGen Performance for sizing them to fit. Tires are Nitto NT-05’s 235/40R-18 and 245/40R-18 Nitto NT-05’s.
Paint / Body: NextGen Performance specializes in mechanical makeovers, that’s why they chose a Corvette that was already wearing an excellent Torch Red paint job. The only external modification was switching the 427 hood medallions for LS3 emblems. That said, the Buzzell Brothers spent countless hours masking the body to protect it from harm during wrenching. All underbody surfaces were coated with matte black. Fresh chrome reproduction bumpers were sourced from Classic Industries.
Interior: The stock interior was augmented by a Dakota Digital instrument cluster packing VHX gauges, including an 8,000rpm tachometer and 160mph speedometer. In the old days, sidewalk spies deciphered Corvette tachometer redlines to glean clues on engine potency. Solid-lifter mills red-lined over six grand, tame-juice lifter mills went to five grand. The stock U69 Delco AM-FM radio was a popular option and was installed in 20,934 of the 22,229 Corvettes built in ’64. At $176.50, the radio cost $68.90 more than the hottest non-fuelie 327, the 365 horsepower L76 with solid lifters and a Holley 4-barrel ($107.60). Where were peoples’ priorities?

Fandom Spells: HP Series
Here’s the first of many to come! We previously asked if you guys wanted to see fandom inspired spells put into practical use, and here ya go. :) For the Harry Potter series, to make it feel a little more like the Wizarding World, we’ll be creating these in 7 sets. Each spell will correlate to a specific year, and obviously, we’ll start with first years.
Lumos
Year: One
Difficulty: Beginner
Effects: Used for clarity in dark situations or to shed light where one may be uncertain
You Will Need:
One candle any color (white works best)
To Cast:
Find a nice dark place to meditate and take a seat, make sure you’re comfortable!
Place the candle in front of you and light it
Focusing on the flame, chant (in your head or out loud) the words: Lumos, by your light, Help me see that which is right, Let nothing stand in my way Of clarity, not even night
Once you feel the intent has taken place, close your eyes and meditate on the situation you’re ill at ease with. Ponder the source and your options all while soaking up the energy from the candle’s light.
You may come out of meditation and put out the flame at any time
You definitely don’t have to use the chant to put the same intent into the light from the candle, it just came to me as I was writing this so I thought I should include it! A few other options you have to take this spell on the go with you is either to keep a white birthday cake candle with you at all times in case you get a moment of alone time in a place where it’s safe to light a candle and do a short meditation session (careful, the wax will drip), or you can link the intentions of this spell to an object for a quick activation to help you at a moment’s notice in tough situations.

sigils! how
Anon you crack me up, I laughed at this for way too long.
Sigils! Here’s how
Intent - What are you trying to accomplish? Form it into a sentence in your mind, changing and rewording it until you think it’s perfect.
Write it out - Write out the sentence while imbuing it with energy. It’s important to keep a steady focus while creating sigils. I don’t want to say that a break in attention will make the sigil fail completely, but you want to do your best to not let this happen.
Remove letters - Remove all the vowels and repeated letters from your sentence. For example: the sentence “I am happy with my body” now becomes “MPTHBD”. There’s some debate as to whether or not to include Y’s and W’s, but honestly I don’t think it makes any difference.
Create Sigil - Using the new “sentence”, put the letters together to form a symbol. It doesn’t have to be perfect or pretty or elaborate even, it just needs to feel right to you.
Activate - Most people, when starting out, use paper to write their sigil on and fire to release its energy into the universe. I still use this method because it’s the easiest for me, but there are so many different ways you can release sigil energy. One shot vs. slow release, it’s really up to you to experiment with what works best for you.
Hope this helped! Sorry this isn’t as detailed as some of my other posts, I’m going through a bit of life stuff which is really draining my energy and happiness right now. >.< Love and light, friend xo

Heya! So I've got a question. Well, more of a request. Do you have any spells that are good without many ingredients? I've been trying to find some and have found it pretty hard.
Hey! I’ve got an answer! Well, sort of. I don’t typically give out exact spells because I honestly don’t write mine down yet (oof I know, I’m a bad witch). I make mine up on the spot with whatever tools and ingredients I have on hand and perform it as feels right.
Witchcraft sans tools
Okay, so this won’t be completely “sans tools”, but the tools and ingredients that I do mention here are easily gathered and most people already have on hand.
Don’t forget the power of your own energy. Using your energy to put intent into something is still performing a spell, it’s just not as structured as a more advanced spell with a butt load of ingredients. Some ideas:
Stir your coffee with intent
Or tea, tea is always a good idea (tea in itself has magickal properties, try looking up dem correspondences!)
Putting on makeup with intent is great for glamour magick
Cooking with intent
Trace sigils on your skin with your finger
Don’t forget about the elements! Elemental magick is pretty powerful, and really easy to get ingredients for
Go dig up some dirt
Tap water is just fine
Burn some paper, or even twigs that you find outside!
Blow some air to active air in a spell
Create circles with table salt
I’ve made this list, but the truth of the matter is that you can perform magick with anything. If all you’ve got on hand is an eraser and a penny, you can look up the correspondences of the color of the eraser and the metal of the penny to use for a quick little spell in which you literally just toss the penny over your shoulder and rub the eraser over your hand so as to “erase” the touch of the penny (and whatever you’ve tied to it) from your life.
I hope this helped! I’m not sure I answered your exact question, but I hope I’ve given you some ideas on how to perform your own spells with limited ingredients and tools!

I've been having mixed feelings and really weird dreams about my ex. I've talked to people about it, but i'm not really getting an answer on how to handle the feelings and thoughts. Everyone just says to stay away from things that remind me about them, and that doesn't work for me, cuz they tainted everything in me life. I can't look at anything without them being there in my mind. Do you have any suggestions or advice? Thank you!! I send warm thoughts and good feels.
I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, and I’m sorry no one has given such great advice! :( I’ll try my best. Here’s what I’d do in your situation.
Cutting Ties
STEP ONE - CLEAN YOUR SPACE
What they say about your space helping your mental health is true. If your space is cluttered and messy, you’re more likely to experience stress and anxiety. The same principle applies to removing someone from your life. You may not realize just how much of the other person still lingers in your space.
Tidy the space - do a quick clean up, picking anything up off the floor, clearing off counter spaces, etc
Rearrange things - Move your bed to a new corner of your room, change around the furniture, decorate in new ways that you haven’t before
Do a thorough clean - take some cleaning wipes to the surfaces, do a load of laundry, vacuum the floor, mop, dust. Make that place shine like the top of the empire state
NOTE: Turn on some dance music while you’re cleaning. Dancing is a great way to get rid of negative vibes, and it’ll help you feel better physically, too. I’ve definitely had some Glee dance sessions alone in my living room and I always come out of it feeling a million times better than I did.
STEP TWO - CLEANSE YOUR MENTAL SPACE
This step may be a bit uncomfortable, but the hope is that you’ll come out of it feeling renewed and with a better flow of your energy. You can do the first few parts of this step while CLEANING your space, but I wouldn’t suggest doing so unless you are experienced in energy work and meditation.
Meditate - find a safe space, one with little to no negative energy, and begin meditating. Scan your body then focus on your mind, what you are thinking about, how your thoughts form, what control you have over those thoughts, etc
Think of the person you’re cutting from your life - this may seem counterproductive, and it may hurt, but let them enter your thoughts. Gather all of your thoughts of them and imagine them forming a big ball of energy. Any time new thoughts of them form, don’t linger on the specific thought too long, just shove it on into the energy ball
Release the energy - take their energy that is stored inside you and picture it releasing from the top of your head. Don’t stop there, because you don’t want the energy lingering around in your space. Push the energy far away from you, up into the sky, beyond the atmosphere and out into space. Somewhere where you will never have to deal with it again
Scan once more - do another scan of your thoughts, how they are forming, and if you notice a difference in how you are feeling both mentally and physically. Do a few stretches and really let yourself feel the lightness of your thoughts and body now
STEP THREE - CLEANSE YOUR PHYSICAL SPACE
Don’t forget little nooks and crannies around the house. Closets, under the sink, the junk drawer that you haven’t opened in literal years that now has battery acid from old batteries all over, literally every space in your home. I’ll list a few methods of cleansing below, but if you’re unable to do these things or don’t have the tools, I would suggest looking up different ways of cleansing a space without using too much of your own energy. This exercise is draining enough as it is, you don’t need that.
Smoke cleansing - this can be done with incense or a bundle of dried herbs. The idea is to light the herbs/incense and wave the smoke around. Smoke is a great way of getting rid of negative energies and entities
Rosemary spray - this one is soooooo easy. Literally just steep some rosemary in water as if you’re making tea, throw it in a spray bottle and start spraying the heck out of everything. Spray it in the air as a freshener, spray surfaces (but be sure to wipe things down with a cloth if you’re doing this), etc
Crystal grid - if you’ve got an abundance of crystals, a good way to get negative energies out is to literally channel them out using a crystal grid. Using stones like Citrine and Selenite as a center help capture the negative energies and send them on their way along the grid. I’d say leave this over night then line windows and doorways with onyx or obsidian or black tourmaline. Black tourmaline would be perfect for this
STEP FOUR - GIVE THANKS
There’s really no way to go about this in this situation, and you definitely don’t have to do this step if you don’t want to, I just think that part of the healing process and letting go of someone is mentally thanking them for the lessons they taught you. I don’t believe in coincidences. Everything happens for a reason, and specifically with people, most that don’t stay in our lives served the purpose of teaching us something, either about the world, other people, or ourselves.
OPTIONAL - A SPELL TO CUT TIES
I don’t perform a lot of spells. Most of my magick is done through energy work and crystals, not really any sort of ritual. However, I heard of a spell similar to this years ago when I first started my path with witchcraft and it stuck with me through all the twists and turns.
You will need:
2 black candles
string
scissors
lighter/matches
knife or other etching tool
To perform:
Carve your name on one candle and the other person’s name on the other
Place them before you and tie the candles together near the middle
Light the candles all while keeping them in your thoughts, but not in the forefront. Imagine you are both in a crowded room on opposite ends of it, hardly even noticing the other is there
As you imagine them walking out the door, cut the string that connects the candles. Think to yourself or say out loud “I am no longer burdened by _____’s presence”
Let the candles die out on there own, dispose of the string remnants somewhere away from your space (maybe take a nice walk to a local business or something)
The true key to letting go of them is changing the way you respond to thoughts of them. Instead of letting them be negative and painful thoughts, try working toward using the thoughts as a reminder of the good that came from the relationship (ie. the lessons you learned and how you grew as a person because of their presence in your life). I went through something like this with my ex girlfriend. I couldn’t get her out of my head, the pain of thinking of her was becoming physical, my depression was at its worst because of what had happened between us. But over time I learned that I grew so much as a person from being with her. I learned so much about myself, the type of person I am, and how to love myself. This list isn’t a comprehensive cure-all. It may still take time for the pain to go away, but know that one day you’ll be able to think back on these experiences and appreciate them for the life experience they gave you.
I hope this helped, and I hope things get easier for you soon, friend. If you need someone to talk to please please please don’t hesitate to send us a message.
Love and light xoxo

Hello! I've recently been working on a book of shadows, however because of my terrible handwriting I like the idea of typing up the pages and then printing them out, but I'm worried that makes it less special, in a way. What do you think? Thank you!
Hello :D I have the same exact problem. I hate my handwriting but want the pages to look nice. Typing them up is actually a perfect way to achieve this. It doesn’t make it less special by any means! Not one BoS is better than another as long as it is serving its purpose and helping you. :)
A note on printing BoS/Grimoire pages
If you’re feeling less connected to the pages after printing them out, there are things you can do to imbue some of your own energy into the pages to make it more personal.
Crystal grids to direct energy into the pages
Sleep with the pages (in a book so they don’t crinkle) under your pillow
Just carrying the book with you everywhere is a good way to become more dependent and attached to its presence
Watercolor with moon water
Sprinkle dry herbs in it (sounds weird, but how lovely would it be to pick up the book and smell lavender or rosemary?)
Learn to appreciate its simplicity; even if a big, decorated, handwritten book is your end goal, understanding that getting to that point is a journey can help you to appreciate where you currently are in this endeavor (ie. printing pages out).
ALSO: something you may want to look into is junk journals. There are a lot of YouTubers out there who specialize in junk journaling and give great tips on how to spice up a book and make printed pages more special to you.
Love and light, friend xoxo

Can you cleanse clothing?
Yes! There are actually a lot of simple ways to go about doing this.
Herb infused moon water cleansing “perfume/cologne”
Hang your clothes to air dry under the sun outside (and save on electricity!)
Sprinkle some cleansing essential oils on these DIY, chemical-free dryer balls before throwing them in the dryer with your clothes [X]
Take the time to cleanse your washer and dryer (smoke cleansing the inside?!) just be sure to be careful and use proper precautions when handling smoke/fire around appliances
Make your own laundry soap with herb infused water, essential oils, castor oils and Castile soap to bless and cleanse your clothing
Sprinkle a cleansing blend of any kind into the wash with your clothes
Cleanse your closet and drawers. After all, your clothes do spend a lot of their life in there
One of the biggest things that I like stressing to other witches is to consider going natural in all their household products. It’s healthier for you and an easy way to both save money in the long run and incorporate your practice into your every day life. Cheers!

The Cosmos Today 6/12/18
Mercury enters Cancer - 7:54pm EDT
communication in relationships
relation to external world
behaviors influenced by emotions
Moon in Gemini
communicated emotions
actions based on emotions
adapt to your surroundings
Overview of Today
Mercury in Cancer and Moon in Gemini offer much of the same energies. Both are heavily concerned with our emotions and communicating those emotions. Today would be a good day to evaluate your relationship with the things in your life, ie. your job, friends, family, hobbies, etc., but do just that. It is not advised to act on new ideas toward these things, as this day is heavily influenced by emotions vs. logic.
