Christmas Loot Thread!

Since we're in the Dead Zone between Christmas and New Years', where we're all only making the most desultory efforts work-wards and most of our energy is being directed towards melding with the couch...let's start a Christmas (or Hanukkah, or Atheist Family Get Presents Day) Loot Thread!

Here's the trick, though: it's not necessarily about sharing your most expensive present, or the one you think will make all of your friends jealous...but one that delighted you and made you feel Seen.

I'll start.

This was a gift from @ihni, who included a note with it that said something like "I saw this and my HEART knew it was for you." Unsurprisingly, her heart was bang on target 🎯 I laughed so hard I'm pretty sure the neighbors heard me through our brick wall.

(Also, coming from a Swede, it feels like maaaaaaaybe a slightly backhanded compliment—my understanding is that being too full of yourself is pretty frowned on in that culture. But hey, if I have to live in the late-capitalist uber-individualist hellscape that is America, I can at least take unrestrained pride in my accomplishments. 😜)

My bestie Sam gave me my Christmas present early; she’s grooming BOTH dogs for me. She did my golden girl Lilah yesterday and she’s going to do Oso next week.

Guys, grooming a Samoyed is a special level of hell and I cannot even tell you how amazing her gift is and how greatly appreciated it is/will be!

Lilah is so soft and fluffy and I can’t wait to see how fluffy Oso is gonna be when she’s done with him. 😍
