The kind of animation wobble you see in the PS1 Spyros isn't a PS1 limitation, but an artifact of animation being done without a skeleton. Gamedevs at the time animated models by manually dragging their vertices around.
Quake 1 and 2 have this issue too!

GTA IV FusionFix lets you turn off the color filter entirely and even resaturate the image. Grid 1 Dargo's Mod (and the Community Graphics Overhaul mods for the 7th-gen Codemasters racers in general), the Visual Treatment settings in Extra Options for NFS Most Wanted and Carbon, NFS Undercover's various timecycle mods....
There's soooo many good mods for egregious pissfilter games but I would really like more games to have photo mode style postprocessing that you can also use outside of a photo mode. Gimme gritty exaggerated UK weather Forza Horizon 4
video games always give you the most boring postprocess options. anti-aliasing and gamma correction and various performance settings, maybe a vignette if you're lucky. let players adjust the vibrancy… color-grade with custom LUTs… let them slap on some obscene sharpen if they want. bloom slider that goes to 500%

Is this my best comic ever?? Nope. Do I think I characterized either of these two particularly well in this comic?? Not really. Did I spend an unreasonable amount of time on it to the point that it would be a waste to not post it?? Yes, yes I did.
I really committed to this one, spent a lot of time on those backgrounds and treated myself to ample suffering with the perspective, which is not my strong suit but I am happy with how it ultimately looks. Yay perspective and background practice!!
(Tbh I shouldn't talk like I think this one sucks, I think I've just been staring at it for so long that my brain has decided it's not good and it's actually way better than I think it is, and honestly I am quite happy with it. The artistic process really is something, isn't it?)
The inspiration was basically me reminding... myself... to take breaks sometimes... by drawing for several hour stints during my only little bits of free time. Which totally tracks. Probably. But I've been rolling around in my brain this idea that Lambert is a very uptight people pleaser and anxious workaholic, but Narinder, at least since adjusting himself to the circumstances (which probably took at least a century, maybe two) has discovered the joys of self care, and has made an active effort to chill tf out. This has not made him any less terrifying to the cultists (save for Lambert's closest disciples), nor has it made him friendlier to really anyone but Lambert (and maybe his siblings), but he sure has found some serious peace of mind. That said, I can't place what his motivations are here. Perhaps he is secretly concerned about Lambert's sanity, because he doesn't want them to turn into what he was, or maybe he's just trying to steal away some quality time with his one and only friend, but regardless of the reason, I spent too much time on this for nobody to see it, dang it.
That said. Enjoy this silly little comic that I spent way too much time on, and I hope this silly comic brings you some joy today.

Being someone who read Under The Red Hood and came out with the firm belief that, for Jason, it's not about killing Joker, it's about Jason wanting proof Batman would choose him over the Joker (bc shelia chose the joker). Makes seeing any other media where it's all about just wanting the Joker dead is a teeny bit frustrating. to be honest
Jason could've killed the Joker himself, really, really easily. Jason kidnaps the Joker before the confrontation. I can't open my comic for a reference right now, but it felt like he had the Joker for quite a bit before the confrontation. He had him. He beat him up with a crowbar. He had every single opportunity to kill the Joker himself, but he didn't because that wasn't his goal. Make no mistake, he did plan for the Joker to be dead by the end of it, but do you see what im trying to say here
Edit: If I knew this post was gonna get 1000+ notes I would've tried to word it better or something, this was a rant I made on the way to the grocery store 😭
It's not about making Batman kill either. When Batman says he won't kill, Jason adjusts and goes, 'Let ME kill the Joker or kill me to stop me' instead. The test is all about Batman choosing him. The whole final confrontation is Jason's first death again. The parent, The Joker, and the explosives. It even ends with Jason unable to move as a bomb goes off right next to him again because the parent didn't choose Jason. And instead tried finding an option that'd benefit them and (consequencely) letting the Joker walk, again, lol, lmao <-in agony
#the final confrontation was basically his first death again#and YES he Does want the Joker dead#and it would've been really really nice if Batman was the one who did it#but when batman made it clear he wouldn't kill the joker. Jason easily switched to saying “LET me kill the joker” to accommodate#because he Wanted batman to pass his test#he gave a test to dick too. and technically tim but it wasnt the family test it was a different one so it doesnt rly count#AFTER utrh and the reveal and the batarang you can go hog wild about it. i care less about it then#granted i do believe they make jason more scared of the joker after it at some point#i guess because hes a bit too willing to kill the joker and ive heard jason wasnt meant to live after utrh#my watsonian explain for that is he was so fixated on his plan he cpuld override his fear. or maybe the pit. either work#i prefer the fixation bc i dont like the explanation that the pit was the /only/ reason he could get all plan together and done#BUT THATS UNRELATED!!!#dc stop putting the joker in jason stories im begging you please please please. lock him in a vault for the next 20 years or something#it Cpuld be good and i understand. but also. after so long of people that dont know or go for jasons need for family and parents#that love him and he can trust#the joker starts to feel like?? hm. words. a cop out? oh haha its that guy that killed him woagh hes here#i bet you dont even know that jaybin got beat until unconsciousness by an angry mob#while asking batman to save him only for batman to have to walk away#anwya. where was i going with this#i think i got off topic#jason todd#dc comics#batman#ADDED AN EDIT. Early Texturing in Games
For the first arcade game with textures, Ridge Racer is one hell of a showing! Something like this running at 512x384 at 60FPS in '93 would only be matched when the Dreamcast released in 1998

The first game with hardware texturing was surprisingly in the home space: The aptly-named Crash 'n Burn for the 3DO, which came out with the system a few days before Ridge Racer that October. It would be the only 3DO game released in 1993. I don't know for sure, but I have a hunch that its extremely linear gameplay suggests it might be using a system where the vertices (polygon edge points) of the track/environment are pre-calculated and used for when the system actually draws the polygons at runtime, similar to Winter Gold ('96, SNES) or the intro of Silpheed ('86, NEC PC-8801mkIISR)
The first games to use texturing period were both software-rendered DOS games: Catacomb 3D and Ultima Underworld in '91 and '92 respectively.

Catacomb 3D is an Id Software game inspired by an early showing of Ultima Underworld at CES 1990, and it uses a software raycasting engine that would later be popularized by Wolfenstein 3D, Doom 1&2, and Duke Nukem 3D. Only the walls are textured, but hey, it was early days

Ultima Underworld uses a software polygon renderer and is fully textured. It ended up directly inspiring Tomb Raider, and it's not hard to see why. Aside from the tiny viewport, severe texture warping and 2D objects, it's pretty comparable to King's Field 1 from '94 on the PS1!

I was talking to a coworker recently and offhandedly said I wasn’t exactly competent at a lot of things. He reared back in obvious visceral disagreement that made me stop midsentence.
“What do you mean you’re not competent?”
“I guess I mean compared to the people I’m surrounded by? I’m not very handy, I guess.”
He looked baffled.
I tried to illuminate with a story. So at the sex shop we needed to vacuum every night, right? But one time after my days off I could tell the carpets hadn’t been vacuumed since I last saw them. I asked the other girls why not. It turned out that the screw that held the handle on the vacuum had been stripped and it wouldn’t stay in. Why was that down to a single screw? Bad design.
So any attempt to vacuum meant the handle just popped off when the screw jumped ship. I looked over the vacuum. I found a junk drawer. I found the biggest screw I could that still fit in the hole wrapped it in tape to bulk it out. Then I shoved/screwed it in place. Then I duct taped the opening so that fucker couldn’t pop out. Voila, a working handle.
The other girls were utterly delighted that I’d fixed the vacuum but I was painfully aware that my solution was neither elegant nor long term.
My coworker listened. Finally he said, “I think being competent just means you have the ability to learn a skill you lack, and you can do that. Your solution worked, and you were the one that tried to fix the problem.”
I digested that and agreed, but admitted any new skill learned would prompt me to be a huge baby about it.

The PS1 Spyro skies are cool because they're not skydomes/skyboxes in the traditional sense, but instead constructed with vertex-colored polygons. This essentially makes them vector art that looks perfect at any resolution, as they don't use textures of any kind!

These things run at 75Hz and 75FPS, probably to minimize the extreme LCD ghosting of the era! To accurately emulate that 75FPS without uneven frame stutter you need to either have a 75Hz display, overclock a 60Hz one to 75, or have one that's 120Hz or more that supports VRR (variable refresh rate). The idea of a WonderSwan fanatic building a modern PC for that is funny to me though
its sad that the Bandai Wonderswan flopped so spectacularly because it has Bar None the Best color/design variations ever. Look at all of these
