Hello! I am Ignota. I am a 25-year-old non-binary artist, known mostly for my pixel animations, my comics, the Godot games/interactives I've made/am making for the SCP Wiki, and TikTok videos. I recently FINALLY got my insurance to cover top surgery(I live in California, but my insurance is out of Florida)

I just found out my insurance kinda lied about my doctor being in-network. My insurance agreed to cover the top surgery itself but does not cover the surgical center I need to get it done at. I've been quoted at $2140, not including additional medical workup, prescriptions, travel, and temporary living expenses.

I am trying to reach out to my insurance to see if it'll be covered, but I am about to age out of my current insurance and I am not in a position to afford new insurance. There is still a chance I can convince my insurance to cover it, but this is time-sensitive and I want to have the ABILITY to do it regardless. So, I am doing commissions now.

All features are negotiable and individual requests might change the price. If there's something from one tier you want but don't want all the other stuff, chances I may be able to work something out that will fit your needs. These descriptions are suggestions to make it a little easier, not solid outlines of what they need to look like. Feel free to bring other ideas to the table. I have worked on background illustrations and pixel animations for indie devs making games, Dungeons and Dragons character sheets, individual character pieces, and many other things in the past.

Amazon DCV 2024.0 Supports Ubuntu 24.04 LTS With Security

NICE DCV is a different entity now. Along with improvements and bug fixes, NICE DCV is now known as Amazon DCV with the 2024.0 release.

The DCV protocol that powers Amazon Web Services(AWS) managed services like Amazon AppStream 2.0 and Amazon WorkSpaces is now regularly referred to by its new moniker.

What’s new with version 2024.0?

A number of improvements and updates are included in Amazon DCV 2024.0 for better usability, security, and performance. The most recent Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is now supported by the 2024.0 release, which also offers extended long-term support to ease system maintenance and the most recent security patches. Wayland support is incorporated into the DCV client on Ubuntu 24.04, which improves application isolation and graphical rendering efficiency. Zuma Deluxe New is a modern variant of arcade with simple rules. In the center of the playing field there is the most important object for the user - a stone frog. This is not a simple monument - it shoots colored "charges", acting as a large cannon.

Throughout the field snakes a maze, on which move multi-colored balls. Their colors are arranged in any order. The frog "spits out" a ball of a randomly occurring color, and the player needs to shoot it so that it hit the clusters of balls of the same shade. If it turns out to create a combination of three or more balls of the same color, they solemnly burst, and the user receives prize points.

In the event that the player chronically misses or acts too slowly, the balls in the lined chain managed to slip to the edge of the playing field, "falling" into the hole, stylized as an image of the open mouth of some monster.

For the player this does not mean anything good - for him the game is lost, you can repeat until you start to get. And everything will come out necessarily, the player only needs to combine with excitement and focus.

Bonuses and features

The game provides several levels of complexity. The first of them are created so that even the most inexperienced beginner could win. This is understandable, it is necessary to stimulate interest in the activity. But the game has an invaluable feature - it is very addictive. In order to win at high levels, you should try to get as many useful bonuses as possible. They fall out when you hit special balls accurately. Bonuses can increase the number of points, slow down the movement of the chain, bring it back and so on. This is very beneficial and useful for the player.

Even if it seems that this variant of Zuma is too easy, do not underestimate it without trying to play it. We are sure that after the first attempt the player's opinion will change dramatically for the better. This is a great workout for the brain, a kind of workload that allows you to develop your eyesight, observation, reaction speed, ability to analytical thinking. These are very good qualities that show that computer games can also be useful.

(I'm sick again. Yes, really. For the third time in as many months. And for unrelated reasons. This week's ailment is a perpetual, very sore throat. Not exhausting so much as very annoying so we'll see how my concentration levels hold up.

My work/life balance is getting shifted around next week. That sounds more dramatic than it actually is lol. Point is, I'll either have way more or way less free time soon. Won't know 'til it happens so we'll see how the ol' update schedule goes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tumblr is trying very hard to be pre-Musk twitter, and that's messing up the story's archives. Okay, this is the big one. So as you've probably noticed, Tumblr has been going hard on copying Twitter's layout this past year. Some of them - like adding polls - are great news for us! And then you get the changes to the app layout and the toolbar and this tumblr live shit and good lord just stop. What worries me most is the website trying very, very hard to pivot away from custom blog themes. Most links redirect to the in-dash browser, asks can no longer be sent from people who are logged out, and if you try to read a blog without an account it eventually cuts you off and tells you to sign up. For a webcomic - even a silly, informal one like 8.30 Poll - this is very bad. It's impossible to view the story chronologically when on mobile, and posts with polls in them are set in stone so I can't even manually go back and add in links to each update. If custom themes really are getting removed then these problems will extend to desktop as well. In short, I need to find a way to back up or mirror this story. We're not moving sites because we can't. There isn't another platform out there that has all the features necessary to run a story like this (besides maybe /tg/, but I'm not prepared to run this there lol). So instead I ask how I should go about backing this up. A plain .pdf with the text and images? The animations wouldn't work but it'd be easy and accessible. A HTML5 archive (similar to the Ruby Quest ones) would be more time consuming to put together and would be incompatible with screen readers, but would improve the pacing and allow for animations. Either way, we're almost at a hundred updates so if ever there were a time to start thinking about it, it's now. 'Cause the longer I wait the more of a pain it's going to be to maintain if/when tumblr shits itself.

The ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war is the first large armed conflict in our times where such a large variety of different unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) are being used by both sides.

It really is unbelievable how many different drones are active in this war. It is something people will be studying for decades. Recently the defenders of Ukraine managed to clear a village from the enemy without even storming it.

This is how it usually goes. The positions of the enemy are first softened up using remote attacks, such as bombing, shelling and even drone attacks. This is usually enough to make these defensive positions weaker. Then armoured equipment arrives, which covers the advancement of the storm teams. Ultimately, it is infantry, which clears the trenches and dugouts. However, the old tactics are not necessary anymore.

Drones of the 108th Territorial Defense Brigade “Shkoda” performed a unique operation. They attacked dug-in Russian positions over and over again, until the occupiers were forced to retreat.

The “Shkoda” brigade liberated the village using only drones and artillery. The occupiers were forced to retreat even though the defenders of Ukraine did not even use assault groups to storm the Russian positions. This, of course, is preferred by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because the Ukrainian soldiers do not get close to the enemy.

The occupied village, name of which is unknown, was returned to the “grey zone” – territory that is not really controlled by the Russians or Ukrainians. The Russian unit was destroyed or fled. The Armed Forces of Ukraine did not suffer any losses in this particular battle, because infantry was not used and the abandoned Russian positions were not taken – they were just cleared.

“Several well-aimed drone strikes in one of the villages in the grey zone dislodged entrenched enemies. The inhabitants of the marshes showed a “gesture of goodwill” (they left out of panic) and received several injuries,” it was said in the report. The “gesture of goodwill” comment refers to the Russian tendency to sometimes paint their retreat as a voluntary movement.

Ukrainians are using FPV-style drones a lot these days. It is a kind of highly maneuverable drone, controlled through goggles rather than a separate screen. FPV drones have an accuracy advantage, because the operator sees what the drone would see and can dive precisely towards the target.

Some of these drones are powerful enough to knock out a tank. They are relatively cheap, because they have to be – they are single-use weapons.

I rediscovered this article I wrote about twelve years ago about a cool music project utilizing a map of NY subways, and surprisingly, the website itself is still up!

SUBWAY MUSIC

Created by  Alexander Chen, musician and programmer at Google Creative Labs, the Conductor/ MTA.me project turns a digital map of the New York subway system into a musical instrument. 

The “strings” of this instrument are formed by the paths of trains as they travel across the screen.  When a train crosses over the path of another, it plucks the string, creating a cello pizzicato note (borrowed from the website freesound.org, a  database of Creative Commons Licensed sounds).  A viewer can also use their mouse to pluck the strings, which will change in pitch as they get longer.  The trains’ paths spawn in real time beginning from the time at which the viewer first enters the site, then running through a rapidly accelerating 24-hour cycle.  Train departure times are drawn from the Metro Transit Authority’s own current schedule of departures and arrivals.

The appearance of Conductor/MTA.me is based off of the 1972 map of the New York subway system created by eclectic design artist Massimo Vignelli.  Although the map was rather controversial in its time-- largely because it was not to exact scale and deliberately ignored much of the above-ground geography— its clean, color-delineated lines made an ideal template for Chen’s creation.

Chen first created his line-plucking code for Crayong, a project that allows a user to draw a series of lines which transform into functional instrument.  The genesis of Crayong, and ultimately Conductor/MTA.me came during a lunchtime visit with Chen’s friend David Lu.  The two of them sketched out an idea Lu had for an instrument made from drawn lines that turned into pluckable strings.  Chen later created a mock-up of the design in Adobe Flash.  To impart a sense of realism to the strings’ physics, he used trigonometry to limit the distance a string could be drawn and decreased the flexibility as a player moved towards either end of the string. 

Conductor/MTA.me is not Chen’s only experiment with pluckable drawings.  He was also the mind behind the Les Paul Google Doodle, launched on June 9th 2011 as a tribute to the inventor of the solid-body electric guitar.  This Doodle is an interactive digital instrument that plays sample notes taken from Chen’s own electric guitar. 

Additionally Chen, along with musical engineer Tyler Williams and web developer/dancer Aidan Feldman, created Stringer, a program that uses the Kinect 3D camera.  Much like Crayong, Stringer allows a participant to draw a line and pluck it to produce a note.  In this case, however, the line is drawn in the air from gestures made in front of the Kinect’s camera, creating, in effect, a real-life “air guitar” (or “air cello” in this case since Stringer appears to use the same sound samples featured in MTA.me).    Unlike Crayong and MTA.me, which were created with HTML5, Stringer was built using C++ and an open source programming language called Processing.

After several attempts and a lot of troubleshooting, I’ve finally figured out how to successfully integrate NGIO plugin with Construct 3 to enable Newgrounds medals in my game. I’m writing this tutorial mainly for my own reference, so I’ll have a clear step-by-step guide the next time I want to integrate medals (or other Newgrounds features) into another project. Right now, this covers just the medal setup—when I try out things like scoreboards or cloud saves, I’ll come back and update this with anything important I learn.

1. Newgrounds Account and Project Setup

Register or log in at newgrounds.com.

Visit Newgrounds Projects.

Create a new project and fill in the required information.

Scroll all the way down to the footer navigation and click API Tools.

After agreeing to the API activation, click “I agree, show me the tools!” to access the Newgrounds.io dashboard.

In the dashboard, locate your App ID and Encryption Key (copy these for the plugin), as well as Medal/Scoreboard/Cloud Save setup and other API tools.

Create medals on the Newgrounds project page. After creating each one, note its numeric ID for use in the plugin.

2. Downloading the Plugin

Download the Newgrounds.io plugin from Pixel Perfect Studio.

In Construct 3, go to Menu → Addons → Import Addon, then select the downloaded file.

Add a Newgrounds.io object to your project layout.

When exporting for publishing, ensure the entire exported folder (with all files and plugins) is uploaded to Newgrounds.

3. Setting Up the Construct 3 Project and Plugin Details

Start a new Construct 3 project (or use an existing one).

Check project properties such as viewport size, layout order, and loader style.

Select the Newgrounds.io object in your layout, then enter the App ID and Encryption Key exactly as shown in your Newgrounds API Tools page (no extra spaces or characters).

Set up an event to trigger NGIO login after player input (for example, “Press Any Key” on an intro/title screen). Login should not be called on “Start of Layout,” as browsers may block popups unless triggered by user action.

To unlock a medal during gameplay (such as on player death), use the plugin’s “Unlock medal” action and enter only the numeric Medal ID (not “ID#”).

4. Dos and Don’ts for Publishing the Project

Always export as “HTML5 Website” and upload every file to Newgrounds.

In export options, set Minify Mode to Simple. Using “Advanced” minification can break plugin code and prevent medals or NGIO features from working.

Double-check App ID and AES key for typos—these must match exactly or API communication will fail.

Test only on Newgrounds.com (not localhost or other hosts); medals and login require correct domain and project configuration.

Ignore the “Apps with Access” section unless specifically sharing medals or leaderboards between multiple App IDs or projects.
