The stage is pitch-black. The audience can't yet see it, but in the middle of it stands Lim Minseo and Park Mikyoung. They're standing a few feet away from each other, both holding microphones. After a few seconds, the spotlight pans onto Minnie. She's wearing a navy blue, off the shoulder dress and standing with one hand on her hip. The camera zooms in on her, and she brings her microphone up and begins speaking.
"A battle between girl groups with Kpop's pride on the line— Queendom." She says, smiling at the camera. "Hello, I'm Minnie, and I'm here to take you to Queendom, alongside..."
A second spotlight shines onto the second host, Mika. She's wearing a dress similar to Minnie's, only hers is purple. She's smiling widely at the camera, the microphone already at her lips. "Me! SNS' Mika." She introduces herself, pausing briefly before continuing. "Six girl groups that represent Kpop making their comeback simultaneously... it's time to find out who the real number one is." With that, the spotlight dims, and the stage is black again.
The show transitions to a second stage, much more grand than the first one. It's already lit up, bright purples and blues shining throughout it. It's undeniably beautiful. There are areas for seating, like bleachers, separated by six different places for logos, which will tell the girls where to sit.
The camera pans throughout the large room, showing it off, before moving to the area where the girls would enter. Right then you can hear a voice, followed by another one. One by one, the first group enters— Outcast Entertainment's Blue Moon. They're already wearing their stage outfits, each of them in different shades of blue. They're all wearing dress pants and different tops. Jinri, Aries, and Della are all wearing blazers while Taeha isn't, instead wearing an off the shoulder top.
"Woah." Taeha's face is bright with excitement that reflects onto the other girls. "This place is huge!" She exclaims, smiling widely. The other three stay close together, but look equally amazed.
"I can't believe we're here." Della gushes, straying away from Jinri and Aries to look around.
"I can." Jinri says easily.
"We're here to win." Jinri runs a hand through her hair, her smile cocky. "We've just lost a member, and we need to prove that we'll be just fine without her."
"Where do we sit?" Aries asks, eyes scanning over the seats. Just then, Blue Moon's logo appears over one of the sections. Taeha claps her hands, pointing over to it.
"Right there!" She smiles at the others, rushing over to take a seat. The other three follow behind her, Della sitting next to her, Aries and Jinri in front of them, and they immediately get back to talking.
The show transitions to the four members sitting around a table.
"I'm nervous." Taeha speaks up first, tapping her fingers against the table. "We've never done this before, but I think we'll do well, right?"
"Of course we will." Jinri says, confident. "We'll win. I'll make sure we do." Her voice leaves no room for argument, and she's smiling at her group.
"The other girls are really talented, too." Aries chimes with a hum. "But we're the best, aren't we?"
"Who do you think is coming next?" Della asks, and Jinri hums in response.
"DollsWorld? Seralite?" Jinri suggests, tilting her head to the side. "Maybe 1004?" She's smiling, and Taeha let's out a small 'oooh'.
"I hope it's Melliminx." Aries hums, "I'd like to meet them." She adds, and Della nods in agreement.
Just then, footsteps are heard and Blue Moon quickly go quiet as the second group steps out— Angelico's DollsWorld. They're the largest group in the competition, consisting of 9 members that all come walking out at once. Their outfits are a mix of girl crush and quirky, matching the group's general vibe.
"Goodness." Their maknae, Josie, is the first to speak, her eyes wide with wonder. She looks over at Blue Moon and immediately bows in greeting. Binna, Ami, Noir and Jisoo do the same, while the other four wander, examining the room and stage.
Taeha stands up to go greet the second group, bowing as she does. Her smile is wide as she walks over to them, immediately beginning to make conversation with Josie and Binna.
"Blue Moon?" Pinky sits in the confessional, tilting her head to the side with a small smile. "Didn't they just get into a scandal? Who on earth is going to be voting for them right now?" She asks, giggling. "They're no threat."
"Ah, don't they have an advantage?" Aries asks the camera, crossing her arms. "They're full of former members of popular groups. An ex BTS member? That group has, like, millions of fans. Won't they vote for them?" She huffs. "I don't see how that's fair."
Aries doesn't say that to their face, though, only smiling at the other group as they take their seats.
The show transitions again, this time to DollsWorld sitting in a room, around a table being interviewed.
"I want DollsWorld to make an impression." Their leader, Suki, says with a nod.
"I don't want people to know us as just 'the group with the ex-BTS member.'" Noir confesses next, rubbing her arm. "Or the ex-F(X) member, or—" She cuts herself off when Blair glares at her. "I want us to be known as DollsWorld." The other girls nod, and the show transitions back to the stage
The stage is now awkward and quiet. Everyone is sitting in their respective areas. Pinky and Zasha are whispering to each other, inaudible. Similarly, on the other side, Della, Jinri and Aries are talking quietly amongst themselves.
"It's a bit more awkward than I anticipated." Taeha says, laughing. "But that's okay! I thought it was gonna be, anyway. We've never really talked to each other..."
Just then, the next group enters the room. Five girls step out— Celestial's Seralite. All of them are smiling widely, obviously excited, just as the others were. They're wearing doll-like outfits that truly match the angel concept.
Nai looks over at the other two groups and stops in her tracks, "Ah— say hello, everyone." She gestures for the other 4 to look at the other two groups. They do as instructed, bowing in the process.
DollsWorld and Blue Moon clap for them, voices overlapping as they all greet Seralite.
Like it did for the other two groups, the show transitions to Seralite sitting together around a table.
"Seralite are well known internationally, but we'd really like to gain more domestic fans." Nai says.
"Right. I really would like more Korean fans." Berry adds, "I want to make a statement. I want people to look at us and think 'Wow... they're so cool'." She smiles and the others nod in agreement.
It fades back to the stage, where Seralite are now taking their seats. The room is still a bit awkward and quiet, nobody quite sure what to say. Blaise speaks up to attempt and break the awkward silence. "Who do you think is next?" She asks the room in general, tapping her fingers against the seats.
"Melliminx?" DollsWorld Blair suggests, and a general murmur of agreement passes throughout the room.
"Maybe 1004?" Blue Moon's Della chimes, "Or QPIDS?"
As if on cue, the fourth girl group starts to enter the room— Bonus Entertainment's QPIDS. They're notably one member short, but they all still look excited. Eunha, Kyungmi, and Xinyi are wearing pastel blue, while Chaerin, Zuki, and Jae are wearing white. They're not too eye-catching compared to some of the other girls, but they're pretty and match the group's vibe.
Their leader Eunha turns to face the other three groups and immediately stands straighter, causing their maknae Jae to snort.
"Ah, hello!" Eunha greets, bowing. Most of the members of the other groups do the same. "We're QPIDS—"
"They know who we are, Eunha." Chaerin interrupts, clicking her tongue. She's the first of them to make her way over to their seats, on the opposite side of the stage from the other groups.
"Ignore her. She's just like that." Member Kyungmi says with a roll of her eyes, while Eunha smiles awkwardly at the other groups. The rest of the groups are quiet, and QPIDS make their way over to their seats. As soon as they sit down, member Xinyi hits Chaerin in the arm.
The show transitions to QPIDS sitting around a table— only now they have seven members instead of six. The missing member Minji is sitting with them, her smile bright.
"QPIDS blew up domestically recently." Eunha says, running a hand through her hair, "I want to prove that we deserved that." She explains with a smile.
"I think this is a good opportunity to gain more international fans." Mizuki adds, "We have some western fans, but I'd like fans from other countries as well!" She grins at the camera, and Minji speaks up next.
"I'm excited. I think this will be a good learning experience. And I think we have what it takes to win."
It fades back to the stage, where the girls are finally making conversation. Each of them have been given microphones so they can actually converse with the girls across the stage. They're talking about each other's songs and interacting well when the fifth group begins to walk out and they all go quiet.
The show's second quartet, Imaginaut's Melliminx, steps out one by one. They're all waving as they step out, bright smiles on their faces. They're wearing outfits with a schoolgirl vibe to them, with matching varsity jackets, each member having their initials on theirs. The other girls clap for them as they walk out, and Melliminx bow in greeting.
Their leader, Seulbee, claps her hands. "Ah, let's greet them." She instructs the others, and they form a line, bowing once again.
"Melli-mi, melli-my! Hi, we are Melliminx!" The four repeat their greeting easily, and the others clap for them again.
Their maknae, Joohwa, points over to where their logo is shining above the seats. The four begin to make their way over to their seats, and the show transitions again. The four are now sitting around a table, being interviewed as the other groups were.
"We've never done anything like this." Eunjae speaks up first. "So it's definitely a bit nerve-wracking, but I think we'll do okay!"
"We're going to make an impact." Seulbee's voice is confident. "I don't know if we'll win- of course that's the goal, but I think as long as people look at us, admire us, I'll be happy."
There is a short silence throughout the group. Plum is the one who breaks it. "But I mean, obviously, we'd like to win."
It fades back to everyone now sitting in their seats. Everyone is talking, and QPIDS Mizuki in particular is making good conversation with the Melliminx members.
"I used to train with them!" Mizuki exclaims, proudly and with a large smile. "I haven't spoken to them much since I...left...the company, so it's nice!"
"Who's last?" Seralite's Eunjoo asks her fellow member, Yukyung, who hums in response.
"1004, right? They're the only ones who haven't shown up yet." She replies, and Eunjoo let's out a small 'ohh' and nods.
"I'm mostly nervous about 1004." Eunjoo says, shuffling in her seat. "Our concepts are really similar, but they're more experienced. I just hope we can keep up with them."
A few minutes pass before the final group enters. 1004 walk in, and the girls all clap once again. 1004 are the most experienced group in the competition, debuting back in 2014, while the others debuted in 2018 or later. The seven girls are all smiling and waving at the others, all dressed in white to match the angel concept.
"Hello, hi!" Inya greets, bowing as the claps die down. "Thank you! It's nice to meet you all!" She smiles widely, waving at everyone as her fellow member Dalrae begins pulling her over to where they're meant to be seated. She doesn't stop waving until she's finally seated, and the show transitions to the seven being interviewed.
"We were on hiatus for a while." Their leader, Halo, starts. "What, nearly 3 years?" She asks rhetorically. "We've got to prove we've still got it, you know?"
"Right." Maknae Jaewon confirms. "We're still 1004, and we've got what it takes to win." She grins widely, and Zhizi hums.
"We're easily the best group here and the most seasoned. I have no doubt that we'll win." Sol smiles at the camera, cocky.
The show transitions with an aerial view of all the groups in their seats. Everyone is back to talking amongst themselves and their groups.
"Everyone's here now." DollsWorld Suki points out to her groupmate, Binna. "Will the hosts come out soon?" She asks, and Binna nods.
"They have to, right?" Binna replies, smiling. "I'm excited. I want to meet them."
On the other side of the room, Melliminx's Seulbee is talking with her group mates. "I'm curious to see everyone's performances." She comments, adjusting one of the clips in her hair.
"I'm a bit nervous." Joohwa says, chewing on her bottom lip. "Everyone here is so talented."
"But so are we." Seulbee smiles, "We're gonna do great, don't worry too much." She reassures their maknae, patting her on the shoulder. Joohwa nods and sends Seulbee a nervous smile.
Everyone is getting ready for their performances, both mentally and physically, when the room suddenly darkens and the stage lights up. There is immediately a round of cheers throughout the room, the girls clapping.
The hosts step out, and with it, another round of cheers starts up. Minnie and Mika are wearing the same dresses they were in the intro, but they look much more excited.
"They're so cool." QPIDS Xinyi gushes in the confessionals, her eyes lit up. "It's so amazing being able to see them in person."
Each group bows as the hosts walk past them, up to the stage. Mika is the first to speak.
"It's so wonderful to meet you all." Mika smiles widely at the groups, "I'm your host, Park Mikyoung."
"And I'm host Lee Minseo." More cheers erupt from the crowd, and the two girls bow in thanks. "We'll be here to guide you through your journey to Queendom."
"I'm sure many of you are nervous." Mika says, trying not to make it too obvious she's reading from a cue card, "But we'll be here to help you."
"That's right. Queendom, the journey to find who the real Queen is, starts here." Minnie announces. "We're excited to find out who the number one is."
"Let's explain the evaluation rules, shall we?" Mika asks rhetorically, turning to Minnie with a smile, before back to the groups, who are all waiting anxiously. "There will be a total of four competitions, including the finale. Whoever accumulates the most points over the four competitions... wins Queendom." She says it extra dramatically, causing some of the girls in the crowd to giggle.
"She makes the mood lighter." 1004's Jaewon says, "I'm grateful for it."
"There are four categories for evaluation." Minnie continues. "Participants self evaluation, experts evaluations, Korean and global fans evaluations, and finally, the number of views on a global platform. These will all be calculated to determine the winners." She explains.
"The final Queen will be rewarded with a comeback show only for them and a special reality show." Mika says, grinning as the groups all clap with large smiles.
"Ah, I want that so bad." Seralite's Berry sighs, "I'd really like to bring domestic attention to our group."
"As you know, the 100 second performance you've prepared will be evaluated by fans." Minnie reminds them, "The winning team...will be rewarded 1,000 points."
"Ah, that's so much!" Blue Moon's Taeha says to her group, who nod in agreement.
"First place will also... get to decide the performance order for the first competition." Mika announces.
"Wow..." Melliminx's Plum says with awe, kicking her legs back and forth. "The order is really important. That's an amazing benefit."
"Now...we will begin the meet and greet performances!" Minnie exclaims, her smile wide. "We're excited to see what you guys have prepared for us and the viewers."
"With that...let's begin the competition!" Mika claps, and the groups do the same. "Would you guys like to know the performance order?" She holds a hand to her ear, to show that she was waiting on an answer. A chorus of responses went through the room, and Mika smiled. "Great! Hmm..." She looks around the room and her eyes land on DollsWorld Noir. "Noir! Do you want your group to go first or last?"
Suddenly all eyes are on Noir, and she brings the microphone up. "Umm.." She laughs awkwardly, "I'd like our group to be the finale." She says with a smile.
"And what about you, Kasai?" Minnie asks, eyes on 1004 Kasai, who immediately sits up straighter as she brings her microphone up.
"We'd also like our group to be the finale." She answers, nodding.
"Everyone does, right?" Mika grins, "Well, let's get to the real performance order. You selected your expected number 1 for today's competition, which helped us decide this." She nods up to the screen above them, where three group names sit.
1. 1004
2. DollsWorld
3. Seralite
"This means that 1004 will be performing last." Minnie announces, clapping for the girl group. The rest of the girls do the same, a general murmur going throughout the crowd.
"Save the best for last, right?" Kasai says, sending an all teeth grin to the camera.
"The rest of the order will be decided through a relay selection." Mika explains, and a gasp is heard from the crowd.
"Ah, do we get to pick?" Jaewon asks her group, bouncing in her seat.
"I think so." Sol answers, smiling at the other girl.
"1004 will get to choose the opening team." Minnie says, smiling over at the girl group, who all clap in excitement. "We'll give you girls a few minutes to decide.
1004 all huddle together to discuss, while the other groups talk among themselves.
"I think it's better to go first!" QPIDS Zuki tells her group, who all look visibly anxious. "We'll be opening up the show. It's better than being in the middle, right?"
Blue Moon's Jinri is talking to her group as well. "I think it'll be fine if we go first. We'll show that we're the best and make everyone nervous." She smiles at her group, who nod.
"We've made our decision." 1004's Halo announces suddenly, and all the girls turn to look at the group, "We've decided that... Melliminx will go first."
"Ah, why did they choose us?" Joohwa complains, "I hope we do well..."
"We'll do fine!" Seulbee says, clapping her hands. "Let's show them!" She exclaims, trying to get her group excited, but they all still look anxious.
"Alright!" Mika claps her hands, "Melliminx, please go prepare your performance!" With that, Melliminx stand up and begin walking backstage, bowing as they do. The other girls clap for them.
"Fighting!" Blue Moon's Taeha exclaims, and many of the other girls repeat her.
Melliminx walk backstage, each of them looking notably worried, except Seulbee. She looks excited, but that might be to help calm the other girls nerves.
"We've got this! Let's go practice, yeah?" She smiles at the others, and they all nod.
"I think we'll do okay." Seulbee says, "I'm a bit nervous too, but I know that we're good! I know we'll do good!"
"The introduction stage will now begin!" Mika announces, and everyone claps, "Best of luck to Melliminx!" With that, the two hosts walk off the stage.
Melliminx walk onstage. They look confident, able to mask their nerves pretty well. The girls all clap as Melliminx get into position.
"Ah, I'm nervous for them." DollsWorld Pinky laughs, shaking her head.
The lights begin to dim. The performance opens with Seulbee rapping, and the other girls gasp.
"Oh, she's so good." QPIDS Jaehee whispers to her groupmate Chaerin, kicking her legs back and forth.
"She's okay." Chaerin replies, rolling her eyes with a huff. Jaehee just hums and continues watching the performance as the chorus of their song Jelly begins.
Melliminx are doing well. They're obviously very talented and know what they're doing, even when they're nervous. The performance moves into a dance break, and the other groups all let out little 'oohs'. There's a chorus of claps when Melliminx begin to slip their jackets off.
"Ahh, they're so cool." Seralite's Yukyung says, pretending to fan herself with a wide smile.
The performance ends with a harmonization, and everyone erupts in claps once again.
"They did so well!" DollsWorld Ami says with a smile. "I really liked it a lot. The chorus was catchy." She hums a bit of the chorus, smile never fading.
"It was good, but pretty boring, no?" 1004's Zhizi questions, tilting her head. "I think the opening rap was the best. The rest was just... boring." She shrugs. "Maybe we should've picked someone else."
"I think we did well." Melliminx's Plum smiles to the camera, "We didn't make any obvious mistakes. Everyone was a bit nervous, but I think all the groups are." She runs a hand through her hair, smile not fading.
The claps don't die down until Melliminx are offstage and the crowd continues talking, all now excited after watching the first performance.
After a few minutes, Melliminx walk back onstage, sweaty from the performance but smiling widely. The groups all clap again.
"You did good!" QPIDS Xinyi cheers as Melliminx walk out. The four girls all bow right before they sit down.
"That was our first performance, Melliminx." Minnie announces, clapping. "You girls did well!"
"It was so wonderful! Ah, Seulbee's rap..." Mika pretends to faint into Minnie's arms, again causing girls in the crowd to giggle. She stands back up, smiling over at Melliminx. "Are you guys satisfied with your performance?" She asks.
"I am." Seulbee answers easily, "I think we did great, and I'm satisfied with how it went."
"Good! And 1004 who chose Melliminx, what did you guys think?" Minnie asks, looking over at said girl group.
Halo is the first to speak. "I think.. it could've been better." She says, her face neutral. Melliminx immediately look a bit nervous. "I really think you did well, it was just a bit uneventful, especially for the intro performance." She pauses, "But I do think that you're all really talented."
Seulbee shakes her head. "So she debuted before us, does that mean she can get away with saying that? They're the ones who chose us." She sighs, blinking a few times. "Whatever. Let's just wait to see their performance."
It briefly cuts to Eunjae sitting in the confessionals with teary eyes, before back to the stage
"Okay!" Mika claps her hands to get the attention on her, smiling. "This means Melliminx will get to choose the next group. We'll give you a few seconds to make your decision."
Melliminx huddle together, speaking in hushed whispers. Plum momentarily looks over at DollsWorld, before back at her group.
"Ah, she looked at us." Josie whispers to Noir. "Do you think we're going next?" She asks, looking at Noir with wide eyes.
"Maybe." Noir answers, shuffling in her seat. "I don't know. She just looked over at Seralite, too." She points out, and Josie let's out a small 'ohh'.
"We've made our decision." Seulbee announces, and everyone's eyes land on her. "The group we want to go next is..." She pauses, giving the show an opportunity to add dramatic music. "Blue Moon."
Blue Moon immediately stand up to begin walking backstage. The other groups clap and Blue Moon bow as they pass them.
"I'm excited." Jinri says to camera, "I know we'll do well. We practiced a lot." The show cuts to a clip of Jinri snapping at her members to do better, and then her voice is censored, before it cuts back to Jinri in the confessionals. "We're ready."
"Let's get ready for our next performance! Blue Moon~" Minnie claps, and again, the two hosts move out of the way to let the girls perform. Blue Moon steps out, getting into position while the girls clap. Their claps die down when the music begins.
Their performance is of their debut song, Like It's Your Last, but it's noticeably a lot different. It's slower and sexier, with a bit of a jazzy beat. The choreography is a lot more simple than the one for the original song, to match the new vibe.
"Wow..." QPIDS Kyungmi says, sighing dreamily. "Ah, they're so sexy." She gushes to Eunha, who nods in agreement.
Jinri also wrote a new rap for it, and a chorus of ooh's and ah's echoed throughout the room as she began it. At one point during their performance, there's a wardrobe malfunction— Aries' jacket gets stuck to rings, but she handles it professionally and manages to fix it off screen. Besides that, the performance goes well and when it comes to an end, another round of claps goes through the room.
"They're so cool!" DollsWorld Binna exclaims, smiling over at Suki, who shrugs.
"It was okay..." Suki mutters, "I don't know. I think they could've done better. That mishap was preventable." She adds, and just misses how Binna rolls her eyes.
"Aries handled that so well..." Seralite's Berry comments, "I almost wouldn't have noticed."
A few seconds pass, before Blue Moon begin walking backstage again, smiling widely to themselves.
"We did well. Aries handled it professionally, and that was our only mistake. I have no doubt that we'll rank first." Jinri says with a smile, despite the fact that they're only the second performance.
When Blue Moon walk back on stage, everyone claps again for them. Their smiles are wide and they all look proud of themselves.
"Ahh, I got goosebumps." Minnie began, "You guys were so cool! I enjoyed it thoroughly." She smiled at the girls, who bow in thanks. "Jinri, I heard you remade the song. Is that so?
"Yes." Jinri confirms with a nod. "I was the one who remade it, and I wrote the new rap."
"And are you happy with how it went?" Mika asks, tilting her head.
"I am." Jinri answers. "I think we did well. I look forward to seeing everyone else's performance."
"Speaking of! It's now your turn to choose the next group. We'll give you a minute to come to a decision." Minnie says, smiling at the girls, who turn to each other to decide.
"Taeha keeps looking at us. Do you think we're next?" QPIDS Jaehee asks Eunha, who hums.
"Maybe. Are you ready?" Eunha questions in return, looking over at Jaehee with a playful smile.
"Of course I am." Jaehee answers, crossing her arms. "I was born ready." She adds, and Eunha giggles.
"We've made our decision!" Taeha announces, smiling over at the hosts. "We've decided... we'd like Seralite to go next." She announces, looking from the hosts over to said group, her smile never fading. Aries, Jinri, and Della all nod in agreement. They all look a bit nervous as they stand, but Blaise in specific looks like she's about to throw up.
"I have a high note." She explains, fixing her hair anxiously. "I've practiced a lot, but I'm nervous. I really don't need my voice cracking during our first performance."
The girls begin walking backstage, and everyone claps as they do.
"Blaise is nervous, but I know she'll do well and so will the rest of us." Nai tells the camera. "We'll help calm her nerves a bit before going on stage and everything should be fine!" The show cuts to Blaise pacing around backstage while Nai and Yukyung are trying to help keep Berry awake, before back to Nai in the confessional. "Everything will go fine."
"Our third group, Seralite!" Mika cheers, clapping her hands before moving out of the way with Minnie. Seralite walk out confidently, their nerves now masked. They get into position and the lights dim. A few quiet claps are heard, and then the music starts
Their performance begins with their debut song In Trance, and some of the other groups hum along to it. The first thirty seconds go beautifully, and the music slowly transitions to their b-side, Mothers Lullaby.
"Ah, I've heard this song!" DollsWorld Josie says excitedly, smiling widely. "It's so wonderful for a b-side..." She comments, trailing off.
After Mother's Lullaby, the music transitions to New Me, the last song the girls were performing. It gets to the point where Blaise has to hit her high note, and she does it well, proving the worries were over nothing.
"Ah, goosebumps." QPIDS Eunha whispers to Mizuki, who nods in agreement.
"Blaise is so wonderfully talented." Eunha praises, combing her hair with her fingers. "I could listen to her sing for dayssss.."
Seralite's performance comes to an end, and the groups all erupt in claps.
"I think theirs was the best so far." 1004's Sol comments. "It was really good! The transitions to each new song were smooth, and they're all really talented." She smiles at the camera, nodding to herself.
Seralite slowly make their way off stage, and everyone continues clapping until they're gone. Everyone starts talking excitedly, most praising the girls while some don't look too impressed.
"It was just okay." QPIDS Chaerin says, rolling her eyes. "I've seen some of their other stages. They've done better."
Seralite slowly make their way back onstage and everyone gives them another round of applause. They all bow in thanks, before it cuts to Blaise in the confessional.
"My voice cracked." She says, teary eyed. "The girls say it didn't and that I did fine, but I heard it! I know it did." She sighs, wiping her eyes. "I just— I wish I had done better."
Once Seralite are all seated, the hosts speak up. "You performed beautifully!" Mika compliments, and Minnie nods in agreement. "Are you happy with it?"
The girls look at eachother, silently debating who was gonna answer before Nai brought her microphone up. "I'm happy. We did well, and I'm proud of us." She answers, smiling at the hosts before bringing her microphone down again.
"I'm glad!" Mika exclaims, clapping for them. "I thought you did well, too. Now, it's your turn to decide who's going next. We'll give you a few minutes." Seralite all nod and turn to each other.
DollsWorld leader, Suki, makes brief eye contact with QPIDS leader, Eunha before they both look away.
"Do I want to go next? I don't know." Eunha looks a bit anxious. "We practiced a lot, but... I'm nervous. I hope we make a good impression."
"We can go next. We're ready." Suki's voice is confident. "We'll be fine."
After a minute or so, Seralite's Nai speaks up. "We've decided." She declares, and all eyes are on her. "We want QPIDS to go next."
The camera pans on QPIDS. Mizuki looks excited, but the other five look nervous.
"I'm ready!" Mizuki says, all smiles. "I have a part where I'm the center. I'm excited~" She wiggles a bit in her seat, happy.
QPIDS stand up to go backstage, everyone clapping as they do.
"I think we're ready." Xinyi smiles nervously at the camera. "We practiced a lot." It cuts to QPIDS in their practice room with Kyungmi shouting at Chaerin, looking about ready to swing, before panning back to Xinyi. "We'll do good!"
"Our..." Mika takes a second to count on her fingers, before looking back up at the camera, "fourth performance! QPIDS~" Minnie and her move out of the way as the crowd begins to clap.
QPIDS step onstage, a few of them still visibly anxious but for the most, they look confident and ready to go. They get into position, and the lights dim. They stay dim for a minute, before a blue light shines on the group.
The performance starts off with the chorus of Kiss Kiss, their more vocal heavy song. Notably, it's mostly Eunha, Mizuki, and Kyungmi singing with them in the center. When the chorus ends, it transitions to their hit song, Just Dance, and there's a few cheers from the crowd. This time Jaehee, Xinyi, and Chaerin are in the center.
The performance runs smoothly, with Eunha hitting her highnote perfectly, up until the end of Chaerin's rap. She messes up the lyrics, and she manages to mask the sheer panic she feels, but the crowd doesn't miss the mistake.
"That's not how the song goes, is it?" Melliminx's Plum asks Seulbee, who shakes her head. "Aish, how embarrassing. I'd probably cry." She giggles, before turning back to focus on the performance that is now slowly coming to end.
When the performance does end, the crowd claps, and it cuts to Chaerin in the confessionals.
"I don't know what went wrong there." She doesn't look visibly upset, the only giveaway being her picking at her fingernails. "I've repeated those lines a hundred times over. The nerves, I guess..."
QPIDS slowly make their way offstage, and it's a bit quiet when they do, everyone talking in hushed whispers. The group eventually walk back onstage, and the other girls clap for them.
"Well, the other five did well. It'd just be mean not to congratulate them." 1004's Kasai comments, blinking at the camera.
"Well!" Minnie claps her hands, getting attention on her. "I think you girls performed wonderfully." She smiles over at QPIDS.
"Chaerin ruined it." Kyungmi spits, crossing her arms. "It was going perfectly and—" She cuts herself off, groaning. "Whatever. When we rank last, she'll be to blame."
"Now! By default, DollsWorld will be going next!" Mika announces. Said girl group stands up, and people clap for them.
"Oh, I'm so excited." Seralite's Berry tells Blaise, who hums in response. "Ah, they're all so talented... I've been waiting for their performance all day." She rambles, and Blaise just nods in agreement.
DollsWorld walks backstage to prepare, the group as a whole buzzing with excitement.
Blaise blinks at the camera, shaking her head. "They're not all that." She says, shrugging. The show cuts to her sending thumbs up to Josie with a big smile as said girl walks by, before back to Blaise in the confessional. "A couple of them are talented, but they're nothing extraordinary."
"We practiced a lot. Like, a lot is an understatement." Suki laughs. "They're ready. We're ready, I made sure of it." She pauses, humming. "I think a couple of us are nervous, but we'll be fine."
"Now, please get ready for our fifth performance, DollsWorld!" Mika grins, bouncing on her feet as her and Minnie step away. DollsWorld walks onstage, and the crowd erupts in claps.
"Ah, I'm so excited." Melliminx's Joohwa whispers to her group. Plum shushes her and makes a gesture for her to turn to the stage.
The lights dim, and the music starts— the chorus to BTS' fire, with Noir in the center. All of the groups immediately erupt in cheers, with some girls doing the choreography from the seats. It suddenly transitions to Pristin's WeeWoo, Binna now centered. It definitely was a surprise.
Blue Moon's Della blinks rapidly. "Aish, so sudden. Gave me whiplash." She giggles a bit, shaking her head.
After WeeWoo ends, it transitions to IZ*ONE's La Vie En Rose. It's a lot smoother than the previous transition, and Blair is now in the center, performing the choreography with ease. They then move on to F(X)'s Electric Shock, another rough transition but it doesn't seem to phase the crowd for the most part, everyone excited. It finally transitions to DollsWorld Eat Ur Vegetables. Suki, Jisoo, Josie, Zasha and Pinky are now more towards the center, with the other four in the back.
The performance slowly comes to an end, and everyone claps loudly for them.
"They did so well!" QPIDS Xinyi compliments. "I would've thought it was the finale if I didn't know better."
Pinky grins, all teeth. "I'd like to see 1004 do beter than that." She giggles.
"The transitions were too rough." 1004's Halo says, face neutral. "I think they were okay, but Noir, Ami, Blair and Binna easily carried the entire performance."
DollsWorld walks backstage, and when they come back onstage, everyone claps again for them. They all bow, the entire group all smiles as they sit down.
It cuts to Binna, Blair, Noir and Ami all sitting in the confessionals together.
"I really enjoyed performing Fire again." Noir admits easily, smiling. "It was fun, one of my favorites." She nods, glancing over at Ami to signal for her to speak next.
"Performing Electric Shock brought back so many memories." Ami sighs. "I really miss F(X). I'm glad I got to perform that song again."
"Yeah, I miss Pristin a lot." Binna smiles, a bit sad around the edges. "I miss the girls. Performing WeeWoo was great. Like Ami said, it brought back a lot of memories." She concludes, and the three of them glance over at Blair, who blinks owlishly.
"Um. Yeah. It was fun. I miss IZ*ONE, I guess."
"So amazing!" Minnie exclaims, "Wow, you guys did wonderful. I loved it. Are you guys proud of it?"
Suki brings the microphone up, nodding. "Yes, we are. I think we did well."
"I'm glad. 1004, you'll be going next. What did you think about their performance?" Minnie asks, turning to said girl group.
Halo glances over at DollsWorld. "I think it was just okay." She answers, monotone. "Your transitions were very rough, except maybe one. I think you guys are very talented, but you could've done better." She shrugs, bringing the microphone down.
"I'd like to see them do any better." Blair says with an eye roll. "We were easily the best so far. Let's see what they've got."
Mika hums. "Well, I hope you guys are ready, because you're up now!" She smiles at them, and the seven stand up and begin to make their way backstage as the other girl groups clap.
"I'm worried." Halo admits, sighing. "I don't think some of the girls understand how important this is. And it's Zhizi and Jaewon's first time performing Angel and 3+1 and-" She groans, running a hand across her face. "I hope we do well, considering all that I just said."
"Alright, our final performance. The group you girls chose as number one, 1004~!" Everyone claps, and Minnie and Mika step aside while 1004 come onstage. The claps get a bit louder, only dying down when the lights begin to dim.
"So exciting." Blue Moon's Taeha bounces a bit in her seat, smiling. She goes quiet when the music begins.
1004 starts with an instrumental intro, and that transitions to the chorus of their song Angel. Sol and Inya are doing a lot of the vocal parts and notably, do miss a few lines.
It momentarily cuts to Pinky in the confessionals, blinking, before back to the performance.
They then transition to the 3+1 dance break, which goes well, everyone letting out a few oohs and ahs. They then move on to the chorus of their song You Devil, and when it comes to an end, everyone claps for them.
"At least I'm not the only one who messed up lyrics." Chaerin snorts, shaking her head.
1004 slowly make their way offstage, and it once again cuts to Halo in the confessionals.
"I knew we should've practiced more." She's visibly upset, if not angry. "I told them a hundred times over how important this was and we had to make a good first impression and—" It cuts off.
1004 walk back onstage, and everyone claps once again for them. QPIDS Mizuki sends them a thumbs up as they walk past, but none of them acknowledge it.
Once 1004 are seated, Minnie speaks up again. "With that, all of our performances are done!" Minnie claps. "A round of applause for everyone, please!" Everyone does as told, and Minnie smiles widely. "You all did well, and I hope you're all satisfied with your performances. Now... we will be announcing the rankings."
"We'll be announcing the rankings in this order: 5th, 4th, 3rd, 6th, 2nd, 1st." Mika explains, and there's a couple of gasps from the crowd.
"God, so mean..." Melliminx's Eunjae complains, shaking her head.
The show then cuts to Blue Moon as a whole in the confessionals, all four of them talking.
"I think as long as we don't rank last, I'll be happy." Taeha declares, and the other three nod in agreement.
"I'd like first place." Jinri said, shrugging unabashedly. "We did well. We didn't have any mistakes, except Della's wardrobe malfunction." Said girl hits Jinri in the arm, but Jinri keeps going. "I think we deserve it."
Next, it cuts to DollsWorld.
"We deserve first." Blair says easily. "We didn't make any mistakes. 'The transitions were choppy', who cares?" She shrugs, "At least we didn't forget any of our lines."
"I'd be happy with 4th or 3rd. Maybe even 5th." Binna comments, nodding to herself. Blair blinks over at her. "What?"
"5th?!" She asks incredulously, and the video cuts.
Melliminx are the next onscreen.
"Call it uneventful if you want, but we didn't have any mistakes, did we?" Seulbee tilts her head, humming. "I think we deserve at least 3rd."
"Yeah." Plum agrees. "At least we didn't mess up as bad as—" The editors proceed to censor her.
The video cuts to QPIDS.
"5th would be nice." Eunha says with a sigh, "As long as we don't get last, I'll be happy." She spares a glance to Chaerin, before back at the camera.
"I think we did okay!" Mizuki says, cheerful as ever. "Maybe 4th?" She looks up at Eunha, who shrugs in response.
"4th is a stretch." Kyungmi replies, rolling her eyes.
Seralite are the next onscreen.
"I think we were one of the best, honestly." Nai shrugs. "Maybe 3rd? 2nd? I don't know about 1st, but I mean, I obviously wouldn't complain. We didn't have any mistakes—"
"We did!" Blaise exclaims, "My voice cracked! We'd be lucky to get 5th—" The video cuts her off.
Finally, 1004 are on screen.
"3rd, maybe?" Inya suggests, and Dalrae scoffs.
"You have the little faith in us? I think we deserve 2nd at least." Dalrae says in return, and Inya shrugs.
"3rd? 2nd?" Halo groans. "Did you forget that we missed a bunch of lines?" Inya and Sol both shrink a bit in their seats, sparing each other glances. "We'll get 4th at best."
The show cuts back to the stage, where Mika and Minnie are now holding envelopes.
"Inside of these envelopes... are the rankings for the meet and greet performance." Mika explains, and there are a few muted claps. "Again, the announcement order will go 5th, 4th, 3rd, 6th, 2nd, 1st."
"As long as we don't rank last, I'll be happy." Eunha sighs, running a hand through her hair anxiously.
Minnie opens the envelope dramatically, and almost all the girls are nervous as she pulls it up.
"Our 5th place group who gave us a cute yet cool performance..." Minnie says, looking up from the envelope. "..."
"Is it us?" Melliminx's Joohwa asks her group, who shush her in response. The room is tense as everyone waits for Minnie to reveal the 5th place.
"I think it's us." QPIDS Jaehee admits, nodding to herself. "I don't think we were bad enough to be last." She stops herself, blinking. "Were we?"
"I wouldn't be surprised if it's us." 1004's Halo says, face blank. "With how that performance went." She groans again, sighing. "God, we should've done so much better."
It cuts back to everyone anxiously waiting, and finally, Minnie gives them what they're waiting for.
"...Will be announced next week." Minnie closes the envelope and is met with a handful of groans and complaints. She smiles, and Mika and her turn to the camera.
"We'll see you then." Mika grins, and the two hosts wave goodbye as the groups continue complaining in the background.
