it's not like you really need redemption, you are pure hearted already. it's more a matter of understanding the reasons why you ended in Hell and coming to terms with them. maybe then the gates of Heaven would open for you. it's also a safer place for you to be.

Charlie welcomes you excitedly; Angel Dust, Husk and Vaggie aren't that friendly at first since your personalities don't match, but they eventually grow fond of you

and then there's, well...the Radio Demon.

you never met an Overlord before, and Alastor was supposed to be gone for years. But his presence wasn't frightening. A big smile spread across his face, he welcomed you like a gentleman.

you heard stories about his lifestyle and even previous murderous acts as a human, but for some reason you just can't bring yourself to fear him.

at first you were kinda pathetic to him. so naive, out of touch with the evils of Hell. he didn't dislike you. just thought your life was so easy to throw away in a society like that and that you wouldn't last long.

it seems like you two don't have much to share. he just wanders in his den, while you spend time in your room. you greet each other and have small talks, but nothing more than that. that's until he hears jazz music play behind your door.

he mentions it during dinner, and you start talking about your interest in 30s jazz music, especially the one of the Roaring 20s. you come from a later era, but you're very much cultured about jazz and its forms and that's enough for Alastor to develop an interest in you.

he has so many jazz artists recommendations, and you share some of your favourite pieces with him through your gramophone.

without even noticing, Alastor starts spending hours in your room just listening to music. some time even practicing swing dancing. and talking about jazz culture all around the world, and entertainment in general. he has many fun facts about the history of radio too!

the others at the hotel notice your growing bond and low-key support it, in their own, weird way. Angel Dust is especially convinced that you two are hooking up, as Husk not-so-kindly explains that it's more likely for Alastor to ascend to Heaven than express interest in sex.

you would start to open yourself up a bit to the Radio Demon. he doesn't understand why, since it didn't ask or never showed much empathy. but he just can't bring himself to tell you to stop. he wants to listen.

you manage to make him talk about some glimpses of his own life and thoughts. you knew that he was the complete opposite of you. incline to Evil, an enjoyer of all things that made your stomach clench. but he's still the one person who spends hours with you just listening to both jazz and your fears.

one day, Alastor decided that in no way you are walking around the city without him. it's just too dangerous for you. he tries to teach you how to use weapons and demonic powers to defend yourself but he doesn't feel like you can make it into Hell by yourself.

you like strolling through the streets with him, arms intertwined, chatting and laughing even if demons around you are shitting their pants just by seeing the Overlord walking around.

but one day, Alastor can't find you.

you're not in your room, or in the Hotel hall. No one saw you that morning. He starts to feel something he never felt in his life: fear.

he darts out the Hotel, trying to find you. that's when he sees you just a few streets away.

a group of animal-like demons is encircling you. you are on your knees, arms over your head to protect yourself. A lion-demon is holding a knife over you and your arms are covered in cuts. you hold something close to your stomach.

that's when Alastor realized that he had feelings for you.

when he threw himself between you and the demons attacking you.

it's the first time you see Alastor without a smile. his teeth are gritted, face full of unprecedented violence and will to kill, breathing heavily in and out in a sort of animalistic way, but there's no trace of his characteristic smile you love.

his body starts to morph into his full demon form. his horns grow exponentially, his body too as it hovers menacingly on top of your aggressors as they start to feel a pure fear they never felt before.

in a matter of a second, they are gone. Alastor has always been a calculated, elegant killer, but this time he only felt a raw, ferocious instinct to kill.

as he's done, he turns around towards you. he doesn't want to, but he snaps.

Alastor's face immediately softens. Eyebrows raised, smile still not seen. He's just surprised and...moved.

He doesn't say anything, he just picks you up in his arms and takes you back to the Hotel where he bandages your arms.

Feeling guilty for putting yourself in danger, you ask Alastor to come to your room in order to apologize to him.

As he closes the door behind him, he says that there's no need to apologize.

"I'm...glad that you are still in your room. Listening to jazz, alive"

words didn't come easy, but he did feel the need to say it. you smile at him.

you propose to put his gift on the gramophone and so you do. music starts to flow between the small space you shared with the Radio Demon.

that's when you and Alastor start slow dancing. his arms around your waist, yours encircling his neck. his smile is back, but soft and...almost loving.

with his silent agreement, you reach for his cheek and graze it.

"Thank you for saving me, Alastor. Even if you are everything I distance myself from in this life...I'm glad you are the person that you are with me. In my next life, I'll make sure to be a sinner again if it means dancing with you like this"

Alastor now understands his feelings. It's something deeper than care. It's love. But not the same love you reserve to a friend and not even romantic. It's something deeper, more visceral.

He doesn't answer, just closes his eyes and leans in to press his forehead against yours.

you later fall asleep on your bed to the quiet sound of the gramophone playing, hands intertwined on Alastor's chest.

how do you think val would react to huskerdust?

Angel? Being happy? Without him? We saw how he reacted to Angel flirting with one of Alastor's shadows. If he knew that Angel might be in love, with someone who not only isn't him, but also someone who directly helped Angel rebel against him, Val would go fucking feral. He doesn't take rejection well and idea of Angel choosing some loser ex-overlors instead of him is simply humilating. So he would ruin them in the most cruel way possible.

I'm not sure how his contract with Angel works, what exactly "you can do whatever you want to me at the studio" means. Does it mean Angel is bound by some magic to obey Val's every word? In that case he would probably get both of them to the studio (maybe by trapping Angel and threatening to kill him if Husk won't come?) and order him to kill Husk with an angelic gun. If contract means that Angel just can't defend himself against Val, Val would just force Husk to surrender if he doesn't want Angel dead and then murder him in front of Angel.

I mean ofc that's just his potential plan that doesn't include the fact that Husk and Angel both have powerful allies that in the best case scenario would just save them, in the worst case - seek revenge afterwards. So all of that would be a terrible idea that basically means starting a full on war against the daughter of Lucifer but I don't think any amount of dick sucking from Vox would change his mind about it.

Cuando vi el piloto de hazbin pensaba que el hotel se había inaugurado recientemente y que Charlie tenia recursos limitados por lo que nesecitaba ayuda, antes de que estrenara la serie creía que una de las razones de que nadie iba al hotel era el mismo alastor, quien quiere vivir con un overlor sádico cannival, pero saber que el hotel lleva años(esto no se si es verdad), alastor solo llego unos meses y que Charlie tiene dinero por lo que le dio a Cherry en el capitulo del juicio hace preguntarme como es que no hace nada o a echo algo para hacer realidad su sueño, incluso en helluva existe un anillo el de la pereza donde se maneja todo lo que es rehabilitación y por las pastillas anti depresivas de stolas tienen psicólogos, si lo que cree Charlie es la redención es algo como una rehabilitación, ella tenia los medios para contratar a alguien o siquiera informarse con libros, también pudo contratar personal para su hotel y contratar publicidad en ves de hacer un trato con un overlord peligroso. Perdon que sea largo el mensaje.

Por lo que tengo entendido, supuestamente el piloto ya no es canon, supuestamente no lo sé con certeza. Pero el saber que ese hotel lleva AÑOS funcionando y que no obtiene progreso alguno ahí te das cuenta que nadie quiere ser redimido o Charlie es una inútil que no sabe hacer nada sin la ayuda de los demás. Quiero decir, Husk hizo más por Angel Dust en solamente UNA noche que Charlie es todos esos años.

¿Y así ella quiere que su hotel sea aprobado? ¿Sin siquiera pruebas? Dios mío,esa niña vive en una burbuja.

Y te aseguro que la razón del porque ella no busco ayuda de los profesionales es porque quería ser ELLA la única y reconocida salvadora de los pecadores. Ahí te podés dar cuenta que al menos representa su pecado, el orgullo.

The 9 Circles of the Underworld and its Dominant Demon Species.

For context read my underworld headcanon in Wendell and Wild. Also if you’re wondering, Dominant Demon Species are demons that ORIGINATED from each circle (excluding Limbo and Treachery), since most of the population of demons are imps. Anyway, here’s every information about the 9 circles of the underworld.

Limbo (The First Circle) - This circle is where they hoard the souls of the dead, and see if they’re worthy of entering the gates of heaven or the fiery pits of Hell. It works as purgatory, though you do need to do a lot tests to see if you’re worthy or not. This is also where the Garden of Eden is now currently located after so many years, but it’s just a tourist stop nowadays.

Overlord and Council Member of the 9 Circles Council - Caoimhe Lenton.

Lust (The Second Circle) - The Capital of the Underworld, this circle is the underworld’s version of Hollywood incarnate. And like Hollywood itself, It’s very scandalous and controversial (mostly because of the succubus and incubus living in the circle). It’s this big city filled with sexy billboards, strip clubs (obviously), and anything that goes with the term “lustrous.” It’s very specific.

Gluttony (The Third Circle) - Regarded as the “Agricultural Circle of the Underworld,” Gluttony is a lowkey countryside that is mainly popular for its agriculture and snowy atmosphere. Despite being the smallest of the circles, it remains as a staple in the underworld. Providing quality crops, beautiful bazaars, cute hellhounds and cerberuses, snowy tundras, etc.

Greed (The Fourth Circle) - The Las Vegas of the Underworld, this circle itself is very popular for its casinos and its many, MANY banks (the banks are for the wrong reasons ofc). It’s also known for their luxury hotels and, like Gluttony, its architecture. Furthermore, the numerous crimes that this circle has had over the years has made the circle very infamous for the crimes that criminals have done (it’s probably because of the many banks that it has). Greed also has many prisons than any circle, due to its crime, but it decreased a few years back since they were two demons who were suspected of crimes, one was found innocent, while the other was almost executed via gunshots but the prisoner escaped with two other demons, both of them remained anonymous in the public eye of Greed.

Overlord: Mammon

Dominant Demon Species: Drudes

Wrath (The Fifth Circle) - This circle is mix between a lakeside town and New Orleans. Like Gluttony, it’s also has great agriculture, tho Wrath is more of a roughhousing farming community. It where familiars originate since the circle is well know for the familiar population (which is why they have many farms). Furthermore, it’s also popular for their boat rides, farmer’s market deals, beautiful architecture, scenic and the “friendly” neighborhood. But it’s very famous for their daily moonglow fish sightings that happens every night, plus their Golden Eye Goetia Festival that happens every 5 years. It also has an underwater city below the circle, where demons can see the moonglow fish and the underwater inhabitants in the city.

Hersey (The Sixth Circle) - The neighboring circle of Wrath (since the City of Dis is connected to both circles), this circle has less demons living here than in wrath, and also like Gluttony, it’s also a very small circle. It does have more farms than Wrath, and more familiars, famers market, and that’s basically it. Though both circles are home of the Hellspawns, considered as one of the most powerful in the circle due to their status as bounty hunters, moreover the cases of inner demon sightings in both circles.

Violence (The Seventh Circle) - It’s also connected to both Hersey and Wrath, though this circle is more far away that than too. Plus, it’s also the home place of many demonic monsters that lurk in its circle. But excluding the demonic monsters, it has a 1800s towns, and beautiful landscapes. It’s also known for having demon ghost riders, enemies of Hellspawns (though Demon Ghost Riders are very rare to see in the circle).

Fraud (The Eight Circle): This circle is important because it’s where the Stygian Council is and it’s where important events are held in all of mainland Underworld. This is also the place of the Archdemons, considered as one of the highest in the demon hierarchy.

Do you have any opinions on Husk?

He is such a weird character to me, cuz at the same time i find the little we know about him pretty intriguing and that would be fun to explore i also feel he is such a nothing character, he is more of a accessory either to suport Angel Dust or show more of Alastor. Nifty is at least comedic relief, but i feel you could easily re-write Husk's parts to be Vaggie or someonelse and the only thing you would really loose is shipping fodder

+ love Keith David but really dont feel him in the character, the emotion in his voice and what the animation/script are going for just don't mix for me, he was def cast just for the singing

Okay, so for me, Husk embodies the perfect supporting character, and that's what's so great about him. Watching him, I don't get the vibe that he's underdeveloped. He's genuinely a good soul but so shattered that he consciously chooses to stay in the background. We barely know anything about him because he actively dodges any chance to showcase himself as his own person (eg. he hasn't participate in a single "group excercise" even though he obvoiusly cares about what others have to say. ); instead, he opts to be a mirror for other characters to reflect on. We know his backstory not becasue he wanted to share it but becasue Angel needed to hear it and that was the most important. I don't think he sees himself as worth getting to know, let alone being saved; I'm not sure what makes him like that, whether it's shame for his past as an Overlors or inability to fully experience his subjectivity while he's still stuck in the objectifying relationship or something else. He genuinely feels dead inside but still tries to be of use to those who are still alive, like a ghost almost. Imo this is incredibly real and human.

Also, I kinda agree Husk's character design doesn't quite align with his personality and Keith's voice. Maybe it's because, in cartoons, designs are usually so deliberate and mirror the character's essence. I feel Husk might have been more fitting if he were a bit bulkier? Either more robust or muscular, doesn't really matter. Just his lean, twink-ish figure doesn't seem to match his stoic nature to me. But hey, maybe that was the whole point after all.

about charlie's dream, I find admirable but she is too naive about Hell and politcs, heaven and soul for actually make working. She advice her hotel without a prof of working, she doesn'tknow why there are extremination in first place, why heaven should care about. She doesn't know her people and society they live, for example she is suprised to see angel being treating by shit by valentino. Not undestand soul deal shouldn't be in first place if her parents are protect od free will, slavery is quiet opposity of that! And also heaven doesn't know how soul arrive and she took on angels, it is like to complain with waitress how much restarant work badly, which divine judgment is showing to be severe but fair. Her dream is supporst to be purgatory, but it wouldn't never work without help from heaven who aren't going to give if hell is still place without law. For example i need to see she manageer to redept a soul under deal soul, and seeing how much overlords opposite to her. For this in my fic, Emily and Ser pent found out divine judment already rescue some souls, who under protection of archangels but they don't live in city,because without a good plain of integration, winners could resent their abusers,and because it is so not enought redeem souls extremination cannot be stop, if mornistars doesn't control overlors who can attack earth or heaven

Personally, I don't believe in redemption. But the fact that heaven does not strain what makes a soul reach heaven is kind of stupid.
