I actually stopped playing Genshin like three years ago (i think?? Or was it longer than that?) when dragonspine was first released in an update, aside the fact that Genshin requires phones (yes I'm a mobile player) that have really good battery life lol, I was losing my mind over how hard the quests in dragonspine are/were (I'm still struggling and I haven't revisited that stupid thaw the ice shards quest it's so fuckn hard)
That's the cons of playing a game that's newly released
Then I started playing again recently after I got a new phone. It's really nice cuz there's soooo many more players and walkthroughs, and tips from other experienced players now. i can jsut look it up when I've hit a dead end in a challenge or a quest
The cons tho? All these lores and backstories, mannnn I keep seeing em and I wanna have gone thru them so baaad
Ah well, I'll get there. The pros is also that I already know em even tho I haven't reached those yet 🤭

Banging my head against a wall I absolutely hate playing through Season 2. Petra is so unbearable and so mean to Jesse and the rest of their friends it's so hard to watch sometimes. And the dialogue options hardly go agaisnt her. It feels like the game forces you to support her manipulation and guilt tripping I'm going insane??

I’m so tired of Aiden being used as a villain. He is a villain I know that and actually I’m fine with it in that sense. Read some GREAT villain Aiden stories. Wrote some myself. But OU since like 2016 Aiden has been the villain in SO MANY Lukesse/Jesskas stories and like bro. From being the icky ex-boyfriend to being the bully Lukas can be a white knight against... Why does Lukas have to save Jesse? They can handle Aiden just fine (Source: Episode 5) also like I get interpretations and stuff like that but my GOD abusive obsessive Aiden grinds my gears SO bad. I get that he has the warning signs but OU no me gusta!
Being an Aiden/Aidesse/Aidkas enjoyer plus a Lukesse/Jesskas enjoyer is so bad. Playing a roulette of what atrocity will Aiden commit today and not even in the fun way :/
In big letters so no one can misconstrue my point:
Create what you want! If that involves Aiden being the “villain” to Jesskas/Lukesse, do it! Have fun! I’ve read some stories (where Lukesse/Jesskas is endgame) that use him as the rival love interest/foil VERY well! This isn’t a cease and desist post. It’s just me complaining about certain interpretations because it doesn’t sit right with me, PERSONALLY.
Have a good day!

Are people ready to discuss the excessively racist writing in Three Houses, or no?
Petra's situation is uncomfortable
Duscur was not handled well
And House Goneril owns Almyran slaves and Claude NEVER COMMENTS ON IT
Absolutely not, because that'd mean coming to terms with the fact that 3H at its core is not well written and that even another year of development/writing won't fix what's wrong at the foundation.
And it's like... so astronomically worse than the most tone deaf examples in the other games like Tellius' at times shallow view of racism (and also Devdan/Danved existing as he is at all), that it's baffling.
Part of it is also the fandom willfully ignoring actual problems while exaggerating things they don't like, such as calling Cyril "Rhea's slave" while the things you mentioned are in the same game with nowhere near as strong reactions, especially Petra being a fucking political prisoner. Like, actually it makes me sick. And the language they use to describe her during Hubert's support? Disgusting.
That's shit you can't excuse, and if the game were 100% critical of that situation it'd be impressive, but it's not because no one in the writing room had the balls to make that extra step it seems. When I said a couple weeks ago that the incessant worship of "Gray Morality" and "The Horrors of War" that for some reason this fandom thinks FE needs to be considered a good story makes them look fucking shallow, ignorant, and even racist, it includes this stuff too.

The phrase “we have been aware of the high levels of competency from KT's writers, especially with their work for 3H” is worrying; i'm not going to shit-talk them just for thinking that 3H has a good story, especially when someone's standards for what makes a story good or not is subjective and could be different from ours, but KT's story-telling skills are never going to improve if people keep only telling them that Three Houses' deeply-flawed story was actually a narrative masterpiece, instead of a self-contradicting mess with plot points it introduces solely as gotchas and has no intention of ever following up on in any meaningful way, characters getting assassinated left and right to try and argue that female Ashnard might actually be right and not so different from them in terms of morality and goals (while they're in the middle of fighting for their lives and watching their friends die in battle because she decided to invade their home unprovoked and solely for a landgrab), and an over-powered villain group that should have ended the story long before it even started because the writers decided to give them a stockpile of magic nukes they can launch at anywhere in the world, which was also introduced solely for shock value and without them realizing how much of the story is ruined by making it so that the villains who want to kill everyone and take over the world can just nuke anyone they want (that isn't inside Garreg Mach when they launch it) with no consequences.
I just don't like what it means for the future of FE stories if the worst story in the series keeps getting praised as one of the best, even by separate developers, is all.
Wait and see anon!
For what it's worth, while Engage's sales are apparently not as stellar as Houses in the same timeframe (like House after month 1 and Engage after month 1?), Nopes totally crashed.
Amazon isn't the only market in the world, but in some places in the world (tfw not for amazon.fr) Nopes is now sold at around 15 bucks, which is ridiculous considering older games released on consoles still being in circulation are more expensive than this thing that is barely 1 year old(even the first FEW?).
Also, Engage was supposed to have been released earlier but Covid and Houses being released later than planned meant it was delayed, but Engage was supposed to be Fodlan's antithesis, at least writing wise - you'd think IS would have tried to retrofit more Fodlan themes (maybe more uwu maybe some villains aren't BaD and earl grey because they luf u) but they didn't.
Imo, fwiw, while KT apparently loved how Fodlan was received, IS is aghast and doesn't want to touch it within a 10 meters radius, only if it means selling units in FEH and even there, they sometimes retcon Fodlan units (hello F!Billy/Sothis) or challenge them in various FB (Brave!Supreme Leader, but also in the most recent one, Sylvain harping on his Crust being BaD...) clearly showing how they don't really want to follow KT's direction regarding those units - at times, it's almost as if the CoS receives more development in Heroes than in both Fodlan games!
So I'd like to see what IS has in store for the next FE games (or the next non remake FE game), even if in my opinion, given how Heroes has to retcon/finish the writing (Mercedes reveals more about her Adrestian family in FEH than in two of her games!) for characters just to sell them in the gacha game ffs, speaks volumes on what they think of Fodlan's writing.
On top of that, FE16 was the first game where people received surveys/mails from Nintendo/IS asking them if they understood the game... - so despite Fodlan selling well (better than expected?), imo it's clear the writing isn't to praise, at least for IS, and they don't want anything to do with it (Nopes' DLC was scrapped, when shiny!Rhea's sprite was datamined, so either they made an useless sprite, either this sprite might have been used in a future DLC?)
They can still butcher a future remake (plz no jugdral) by adding pointless supports between units and trying to uwu more than needed the red emperor - or add an OC waifu du jour who will sell merchs and try to uwu her if she is on the side of the red emperor - but I feel like we will see where they will go with a brand new game (since Heroes's writing is... as consistent as a fog and basically circles around "women sad'n'lonely*, men evyl", female playable OC simps after the avatar and is useless in the resolution of the plot because Alfonse will finally find a mc guffin way to defeat the villain of the year).
*i truly hope Vero isn't any indication to what the writing of the future games will be, like heavy retcons from her first apparition to "i was brainwashed and akshually everyone supports me from my home even if i send them to death against askr because the voice in my head told me to do it" because that'd suck, but vero is a young woman, thus she could be monetised for alts, figurines and even DLC content in a main game!

Tbf, Petra probably drank the revanchist nationalism kool-aid and thought Faerghus (or Leichester) stole land from the Empire instead of y'know not thinking that maybe a territory wants to be independent and fought for said independence. But no, everything belongs to the Empire.
Hm... well, that's true, but I can't say I like this one bit. lol Petra was brought to the Empire at a pretty young age and was more or less treated like a circus animal, from what we've been told, that is. She tried to learn Fodlanese by herself and was met with mockery from the nobles in return:
Tumblr media
It sounds to me like she hadn't anyone to turn to in the Empire despite being a political hostage and, y'know, a princess and the heir to Brigid's throne. I don't know about you, but if I was in this situation, I wouldn't jump on the "Adrestia fuck yeah" train, but rather on the "Adrestia fuck you" one. But then, Edelgard ousts Thales and his circus from the Empire and Petra returns to Brigid during the timeskip, meaning Edelgard allowed her to do so. We can assume that it's during that time frame that Petra bought Edelgard's spiel and decided to murder people so that the Empire can do a big fat land grab fight for her Cause (tm). But... why would she? Because Edelgard wasn't a jerk to her that makes her war okay and legitimate in Petra's eyes? If she supported the Empire for the sake of Brigid, that would've been a different story. But here, she's willing to throw away her life for someone who's trying to annex two countries that were minding their own business and didn't do anything to Adrestia or Brigid??? Surely, there would have been a better way to justify Petra being a playable character. Then again, she's not the only smart and curious character to have lost a consequential number of brain cells in Hopes. But this is why Petra is way better in AG where she gets a much needed dose of reality.

Hello my leige, Lord of the Gays. This humble servant requests that you part your most correct cartoons opinions onto us all so that we may partake of your wisdoms.
How could I refuse a polite request such as thine? But of course, my vassal. Prithee, give me a moment to collect my thoughts before I impart them unto thee.
I refer, generally speaking, to the spinoff show of my favorite comic series, Usagi Yōjimbo, called Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles, as the "children's shows", though I may also refer to any of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shows as well— more on this later.
In Samurai Rabbit, the main character Yūichi is obsessed with the exploits of his ancestor, Miyamoto Usagi (宮本 兎), the main character and protagonist of Usagi Yōjimbo. Many of the fans on tumblr.hell grossly mischaracterize Yūichi as having a style of nerdiness that is very painfully American (such as enjoying pop music instead of Shamito Nadeshiko, for example, which is almost certainly something that would play in Neo Edo, the city in which Samurai Rabbit takes place. Yūichi literally lives in Japan. He would not listen to American pop music, mostly because he does not have access to the Internet. nor does he speak English), when there is, in fact, a subgenre of Japanese nerdiness into which he fits (almost) perfectly. This subgenre is called 歴女, or "rekijo", which transliterates as "passage of time woman", but is used to refer to women and girls interested in pre-Edo period (1600s) Japanese history— essentially female Japanese history buffs, usually into samurai and such. Usagi Yōjimbo takes place in the early 1600s— the beginning of Japan's Edo period. Of course, Yūichi is not a woman, but the sentiment applies. I frequently and somewhat jokingly use the nonexistent term 歴男 (rekidan) to refer to him and myself, as I, too, enjoy Japanese history. I replaced the kanji for woman, 女, with the kanji for man— 男.
(By the way, this show is For Children, and the animation is kind of terrible. I hesitate to recommend you watch it, but at the same time, it has many lines I am always quoting in situations such as Work and Any Time I Hear the words "Syrup" or "Accident" or "Grape", and some legitimately funny jokes sprinkled in. Also, the Japanese dub, despite not being the original, still manages to be better in most cases. There are some bits I prefer in English, and some I prefer in Japanese.
This is unrelated to anything and more of a nitpick I have with the show, but they state his name is 兎 友一 [Usagi Yūichi], which would make his family name his ancestor's given name— something that does not really happen in Japan, according to my sister, who is fluent and studied much of the culture. His name should be 宮本 友一 [Miyamoto Yūichi], assuming there is an unbroken line of sons stretching back to Usagi because of the stupid way last names work under the patriarchy, or if any of the women of their lineage made their husbands take their last name, or something like that.)
In terms of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it is important to note I got into this series because Usagi, the ancestor with which Yūichi is obsessed, frequently crosses over with them, in both comic and TV show forms, due to the authors of both comics being friends in real life. In fact, in every iteration of TMNT save Rise of the TMNT (which happens to be my favorite, despite this), there are at least two episodes that feature Usagi. I grew to like the Turtles independently, and made a post about them. In this post, I mentioned "having the most correct opinions about a children's show", and it is this that I quote all the time in my Esoteric Tags.
Anyway, Rise is the best Turtles because all of them are so well characterized, and the show has the very rare combination of good and stylized animation/acting, good characterization/writing, and a good story/premise. Usually, shows have one or two of the three, and you have to deal with the third being Just Good Enough to Keep Watching. Very much not the case with Rise, and I highly recommend starting with it if you want to get into TMNT. Music kinda slaps also. (This is a Correct Opinion because apparently, some people don't like this show. Somehow)
Side note about the crossovers: while the crossover with the 2003 TMNT is the most homoerotic (between Leonardo and Usagi), the 2012 crossover is the best, despite 2012 being my personal least favorite TMNT. Stan Sakai, the author of Usagi Yōjimbo, actually wrote two out of the three episodes, and they FINALLY got an actual Japanese person to play the Japanese character. That's a whole other can of worms I could open, but I'll leave that for another post, if I ever get around to making it. Suffice it to say, Japanese or Japanese-coded characters are, unfortunately, rarely, if ever, portrayed by Japanese people.
Hm. If I have any more Correct Opinions about Children's Shows, they are so correct in my mind I cannot fathom a world in which people don't think the same way I do, so I shall leave it here for now. I thank thee, my vassal, and pray you send me more asks like this in the future!

a super fun writing quirk that osc has is that characters will, across the board, hold the exact same opinions and values as him. Which is upsetting when it’s homophobia and really funny when it’s hating psychologists

Maybe the wither sickness from the WitherStorm, isn't just affected by the WitherStorm.
(Yes. I am aware that sentence made... no sense at all)
If you look at the people who get affected during the game, it's either Petra or Gabriel. They are both more experienced than any of the other characters during the game.
And they both talk about wither sickness in that episode when you find Soren's place(I think at the end of episode 2?). And we can know from there that 'normal' wither sickness(from wither skeletons or... yeah. Yk), is a thing. And it's different from the one they got from the WitherStorm. And if they can explain it to us... and can tell the difference between 'normal' wither sickness and the one they are having right now... they must've gotten wither sickness quite a few times. And we can know that because... as Lukas said "I just can't believe Petra comes down here all the time" (I don't remember the exact line- sorry) . She comes down there. A lot. Probably met a lot of wither skeletons. Even if he doesn't say that, she got Ivor a wither skull. She got Lukas a nether star. And she probably had a lot of other different deals. And Gabriel? The (old) order may be frauds, but they do have actual skill. And they probably have been to the nether a lot. The nether isn't that bad... right? And the rest of the order... well, Gabriel's the warrior. So it makes sense if he got most of the wither sickness during old missions. Plus, Ellie, Magnus and Ivor can all attack from a distance if they wanted to. And Soren... he seems more like the strategist. So I think Gabriel would have gotten most of the wither sickness.
So both Petra and Gabriel, probably had a good amount of wither sickness in their life
So... what if, the WitherStorm only affects the people who was already affected by wither sickness before. And that's why Petra and Gabriel got a different reaction from everyone else when they were captured. Even if you get caught in the beam. Or hit by the WitherStorm, you don't get the wither sickness. Maybe... the WitherStorm sensed something familiar and.. put more effect on them? Or the wither sickness has already affected them a few times in the past, and the WitherStorm isn't like a normal creature and it caused modifications(?)
If you choose to save.. let's say Petra, the WitherStorm is only able to affect her so much. So it ended up with giving her that... weird purple mold? (I like to think of it as rotting)
And with that, it means you failed to save Gabriel. Which means he got 'eaten' by the WitherStorm. And in episode 4, we see the inside of the WitherStorm. And we can see that the people who are 'eaten', are stoned. They appear to be like... statues. So being stuck in the WitherStorm for so long, and like... temporarily being stoned(and not having a functioning brain and body?) Got him amnesia.
And ofcourse. The other way around with Petra getting amnesia and Gabriel getting wither sickness
Thank you for reading
