“Did you check the kitchen?” Sirius yells from the hall.

“Yes, but they have to be in the bedroom, I know I had them last night.” James yells back.

James and Regulus are in their bedroom fruitlessly searching for James’ glasses. James is on one side of the bed and Regulus is on the other and Sirius comes to stands in the doorway. 

“I don’t know why you’re even looking; you can’t see shit and we just have to search wherever you look again.” Sirius says as he crosses his arms and leans against the door frame. 

“Fuck you!” James glares at Sirius, or at least in his general direction. 

“You know, that would be much more intimidating if you could actually see me.”

James just huffs as he leans over to check behind the nightstand. He stands up empty handed and squints at the other side of the room where Regulus in searching. 

“Babe, did you check under there?” James asks him.

“Under where?”

James giggles “You said underwear.” James’ giggle turns into a full-on laugh and of course Sirius joins in because they’re both idiots. 

“Are you five?” Regulus sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. 

James pulls his lips between his teeth to try and hide his laughter … it does not work. 

“You’re ridiculous.” Regulus shakes his head and rolls his eyes; but he’s also smiling fondly as he huffs a small laugh. “Where did you want me to look?”

“Check under the armchair. Remember last night I was on the chair, and you had me bending -”

“AGGHHHH! NOOOOO! NO.” Sirius yells and fake gags as he turns and leaves the bedroom. 

James smirks as he walks around to the other side of the bed just as Regulus is standing up, glasses in hand. Regulus slides them on and adjusts them so they’re straight then wraps his arms around James’ neck.

Regulus leans up and whispers against James’ lips “Maybe tonight we try it the other way around.”

remember once i told you about how before i heard it from your mouth my name would always hit my ear as such an awful sound? and the soul, if that's what you'd call it uneasy ally of the body it felt nameless as a river undiscovered, underground

okay, real talk guys,,,, brace yourselves.

i don't think that the reality of me going to hozier's concert really hit me until this afternoon. back in march, i had bought the tickets on seatgeek, a secondhand seller, and i would always stop myself from getting excited due to the possibility of everything being a scam. when i finally received my tickets in class today, i almost screamed. the relief came in waves.

first time is an extremely significant song for me, particularly the first verse. my mom picked out my english name for me back when she was in college, and my chinese name was created following a pattern that spans across my father's family. i grew up in taiwan, where everyone called me by my chinese name or my chinese nickname. none of my family or close friends call me by my english name; instead, they refer to me with an anglicized versionn of my chinese nickname. everyone who has ever called me by my english name i have subconsciously held at arm's length. when someone calls me beatrice, i never truly register it as my real name. i cringe. that's why i love first time so much—because it allows me to imagine a voice so sweet that i finally learn to accept my own name.

i know that andrew added a ton of new songs to the set list, but he played this one a few shows back, and i really hope that he'll do this one tomorrow night.

lastly, i want to thank one of my best and most wonderful partners in crime, @sunshineintomyveins, for agreeing to attend the concert with me. our friendship is so precious and cherished. it's hard to find another heart as good as yours. i find it extremely kind that you are enthusiastically participating in something that i love so much. alas, if only i could repay the favor with dnp live... we will have a blast.
