Note
I saw an ABO post for stancest where they’re both alphas and I think there’s so much potential in that.
Consider they still present while they’re separated.
Case one: Stan presents early on in life and thinks it’s his duty to look after Ford. He fully expects his meeker brother to be a Beta, or guiltily suppresses a reoccurring fantasy that Ford would be an Omega, since his life seems hard enough as is with the bullying. When Ford presents either right after Stan is kicked out or sometime in college (Stan’s secondary sex was another reason Ford assumed he would be fine), he’s at first very excited, and then very pissed off. He remembers Stanley standing up for him as kids, and is just as thrilled to take care of fights himself now as he is bitter that he can no longer SHOW Stan just how much he doesn’t need him. Stan is completely BAFFLED when Ford comes out of the portal growling at him, and is all the more alarmed that he can take him down. It’s just another change that Stan can’t grasp, and it completely kills the fantasy that Stan will get to provide for him. He hates it. Probably more than anything else. On the other hand, Ford relishes every way that he can catch his brother off guard and throw off their old hierarchy.
Case two: Ford presents as a teenager and Stan presents on the streets. Growing up, Stan always felt inferior to Ford. At least if Stan was an Omega, Filbrick wouldn’t constantly compare them, or worse, completely forget about him as he was already prone to do (it probably has something to do with Stan’s attention seeking behavior). When he first presents, Stan thinks it’s great. Once he’s a millionaire, this will be just one more thing to rub in his family’s face.
He changes his mind when Ford gets back, on account of not accounting for just how godawful it is when two old, stubborn Alphas get into an argument. This was supposed to give him MORE in common with Ford, not drive them further apart.
And Ford is…. SO mad. He’s so mad when he finds out Stan being an Alpha is the truth. He doesn’t even believe it until, during an especially stressful day, he can no longer deny that Stan has a very potent scent. It flies in the face of everything he knows bout him (Stan isn’t responsible. Stan doesn’t have any big visions for himself), and Stan loves to gloat about being more than Ford ever thought he could be.
In both situations, fantasies are destroyed and the Stans unreasonably blame each other for it. Pre Weirdmagannon is hell on earth in the Pines’ household. Stan is constantly doing more than what was asked of him or dipping into town for outside validation now that Ford is gifting everyone with his presence (and very useful inventions), and Ford is up at night stewing over the fact that another Alpha is in his home— but it’s Stanley and he has very complicated feelings about that. (He daydreams about bitching him and putting things back where they belong. He’s always liked to be organized.)
Post Werirdmagganon, they’re so self conscious about themselves.
Ford has been alone a long time and is very nervous about hurting Stan. And even when he isn’t so worried about that (because his brother is mouthy and forgets he’s technically the younger twin), he isn’t used to working with people. When things have finally cleared, Ford is actually very happy to have an “equal” partner he doesn’t have to worry about intimidating (he learned the hard way about unintentional power dynamics with McGucket). But he also dreads it a lot, overcorrecting perceived faults in his own attitude and actions. On the bright side, it’s harder for him to fall back on the old habit of thinking himself destined for greatness when Stanley is at his side.
Stan has lowered himself a lot over the course of his life to the point that— deep down— he doesn’t actually value himself as an Alpha at all. Heaven knows there’s always somebody bigger and badder out there, and a vulnerable person is a vulnerable person. At his lowest, Stan’s encountered people who thrive on breaking others more than they thought they could be broken. He’s been treated as a commodity just as much as he’s been treated as a joke (the line is thin and sometimes it isn’t there at all). Where he used to flaunt his secondary sex whenever he could, he’s gotten into some very humiliating sex work, either derived from that very trait, or resulting in him keeping it a secret, lest everyone find out he’s an Alpha letting himself be used (that never goes down well). He thinks he had something good and squandered it, but also has a better understanding of who he is outside of being an Alpha.
Two Alphas is good because yeah, angry toxic yaoi. But also, it kicks the Stan’s’ competitive rivalry into hyper gear and is an interesting look at their inferiority/superiority complexes.
ooh yes! i don't know if it's the same one you saw, anon, but i have seen at least one post about both stans presenting as alphas! honsetly, i think that suits them both really well and from my persepctive gets you a dynamic that's a little closer to canon. i do really like thinking about how that would change things for stan, tho, specifically.
like a bit of a double edged sword during his drifter years. it suits him really well when he's selling someone a line, and when he's getting tangled up into some dangerous shit, like being thrown in prison in multiple countries. but if we imagine he still turns to sex work, there's a different kind of clientele that want to bitch an alpha. it's dangerous work regardless - at least he isn't likely to get knocked up or some shit - but it leaves him with a lot more bruises and bloodied lips, he thinks, than if he'd presented differently.
and maybe there's a tiny, pathetic part of him that rears its head when he's too drunk or high to stop it, or when he's hit rock bottom again and not sure he can climb back out of it this time. a little voice in his head (his voice) that hates him and whispers that if he'd just presented as a fucking omega, maybe ford would've kept him.
course, all that being said. i'm with the other poster i saw -- when stan and ford get near each other again, they're fucking brawling lol.

I don’t think about Ford as much as the other Pineses, and I genuinely can’t imagine why outside of him simply being in the show less than them. He’s so great and autistic and a huge dork, I cannot understand why he hasn’t clicked with me mentally as much as the other family members.
#Hayley Speaks#I use autistic a lot and it's always positive because I am autistic#But ANYWAY FORD#I really do like him a lot even if he's my fourth favorite Pines family member#...Fifth if we include Soos#But I really do think that's more just from how he spent the majority of the show as a mystery#Because there's SO MUCH to like about him#And I can't imagine NOT liking him#I also just think it's a repeat case of my feelings towards Dipper and Mabel#In that they are both wonderful but I have a clear bias towards one twin over the other#And......well.......we know my feelings on Stan 😳👉👈#Point is I need to give Ford more love because there's so much to love about him

Can I request some domestic Ford x Reader headcanons? Just how they would live together either before portal or after the portal (or both hehe). Ty!
Given how dedicated Ford is to his work, it’s more often then not did you find him sleeping on or in places he probably shouldn’t, you’d try and make his position a little more comfortable by covering him with a blanket or putting a pillow or two under his head in hopes of preventing a crooked neck.
You’d press a kiss to the top of his head and whispered sweet dreams to him, unknown to you that after everything with Bill Ford had became a light sleeper, and so would feel touched whenever you take care of him in small but meaningful ways.
This sweet yet insufferable nerd would find himself captivated by you so much doing mundane things that he ends up drawing them in his note book subconsciously. So much to the point where when he pulls himself out of his own mind, he finds several two page spreads dedicated to you feeding stray cats, talking and or playing with Dipper and Mabel, giving Waddles a bath, or just you standing in the kitchen first thing in the morning looking haggard but beautiful none the less.
Physical touch is his love language followed by acts of service to make up for the fact that he spends most of his time in the lab more so then by your side like he should as your partner. you knew how much his work meant to him but Ford could clearly see the glimmers of his neglect within your eyes when you tell him you understand that his work was high priority.
It hurt him to know that he was the one causing the distance between you two and he felt as though you shouldn’t compromise yourself just to better suit him and his wants and needs. So he’ll always try to make up for his neglect and try to spend his mornings with you by making you breakfast and bring it to bed for you with the sweetest smile you’ve ever seen on his face. Ford only wanted to repay you for being there for him while condemning himself for not tearing the favour.
‘Normally you’d be in the lab by now.’ You pointed out as you watched as he slipped back into bed with you, something he rarely did since he was more often than not fast asleep on that makeshift bed down in the lab.
Ford feels just how cold his side of your supposedly shared bed was and could only imagine the amount of times where you’ve fell asleep alone, dreaming of the day where he’d come up and join you, only to frequently be greeted with the sight of an empty and cold mattress instead of him.
Why he never comes to your shared room was a mystery to even himself as he felt it went a lot deeper then him just being sleepy, was it because he didn’t feel as though he should share a bed with you after the amount of times he has neglected you for his work? Possibly but he wanted to change that and stop being absent in your relationship.
‘I fear I haven’t been the best of romantic partners as of late and for that I must apologise and make things right by you.’ He replied and you placed a hand over his own, squeezing it reassuringly. ‘I won’t disagree with you there but please take your time Ford, I’m not going anywhere.’ You tell him softy and Ford was once again proven why he didn’t deserve you nor your kindness.
So Ford would slowly start to do things for you that he knew you were less then wanting to do unless it was the last resort whether it be washing the dishes or tying your shoes when the laces come undone and you huff in annoyance. Anything that maybe an inconvenience to you Ford will do for you instead so that you don’t have to bother with it.
He’s got a good memory and knows your likes and dislikes like the back of his hand and he treasures this knowledge greatly, no notebook needed when it comes to you that you feel seen and loved whenever he remembers the little bits about you that would go over someone’s head.
Like how you like your morning drink, how you like your sandwiches cut, your favourite flower, your favourite memory-which was of the time the Mabel drew on him and thrown glitter on his red turtleneck while covering his hands in her sticker collection- and how you loved to steal his turtlenecks because you miss him whenever he’s in the lab.
So he starts to leave his favoured red turtleneck where he knows you frequent as he hides nearby to watch you smile softly and wear the turtleneck for the rest of the day. Whatever made you happy made him happy in return, being in a relationship with him may have not been that easy but he thanked you for staying with him when you could’ve left him.
Listens to you speak and could listen to you talk the day away and it could pertain to anything and everything, Ford just likes hearing you speak passionately about things you loved or have experienced while out in town and come home just to tell him. So much so that he gets this look in his eye whenever you speak about your daily activity that you’d have to stop and ask; ‘what’s with that look in your eye?’
He doesn’t understand what you meant by that and asks himself; ‘what look my dear?’
You: the one that you get whenever you’re really interested in what I’m saying, even if it’s boring.
Ford: because what you’re saying is investing to me, even if it may seem boring to you but to me I’m just being feed more reasons why I adore you.
You burrow your head into the Turtleneck you stole from him because of the feelings he brought out within your chest.
You would return the favour by listening to him speak his mind about the oddities of Gravity Falls in depth and his theories about how many more of them could be out there, waiting to be discovered and documented. He even told you about the time he drop kicked Gnomes once, the mental image of it made you laugh.
Ford is a bit of a homebody when it comes to date nights, not for any reason in particular, other than the fact he wanted to be focused on you and only you. So Mabel helps him plan for these dates in extensive detail, even if it was written in glittery pink gel pen. Most of the time you spend it on the roof of the shack where you can watch the stars come out while enjoying the others company.
It wasn’t much but it was much to you and Ford as you rest your head on his shoulder, take in the fact that he was here with you and inevitably fall asleep on his shoulder after he rests his head atop of your own, whispering sweet dreams to you this time before he manages to carry you back to bed; where this time he joins you and brings you into his arms tightly before falling asleep himself, warning his side of the bed at long last.
Also you probably have to patch him up after he goes out monster hunting, the man maybe smart be he’s often times reckless with himself. Also kiss his scars please he’ll love you for infinity if you did so, and also kiss his hands for he had gotten unnecessarily picked on about and call them his unique gift that he shouldn’t be ashamed of, you thought having six fingers was cool. You’ll have that man melting faster then butter if you do and you get to see his hardened face become soft and tender that you can’t help but smother in kisses.

Stan
♡ Stan is extremely protective of you. He never shunned the idea away of you having a partner, but he never really encouraged it. He told you that it was “a waste of time,” that finding a partner at such a young age isn’t really necessary until you’re older. You didn’t bother protesting against him because at the time you hadn’t found your person yet. But when you did, you couldn’t lie and say you weren’t nervous to tell Stan about it. You knew he wasn’t going to be overly mad, but he was going to be slightly against it knowing his views on you having a partner. “Dad?” You nervously fidgeted with your fingers. “Yes, pumpkin?” You inhale, mustering up all the courage to tell Stan. “I have something to tell you…” You draw out. Stan’s face lightly drops, already having a feeling of what this “something” is. Pausing his TV show, he loudly gulped. “I’m dating someone!” You blurt out. Stan stares at you for the longest time, the gears in his head turning as he processes what you said. “You? Dating?” He sits up from the couch. “I need a moment…”
♡ After he recovers from the initial shock, he’s bombarding you with questions, such as; “Who are they?” “Do I know them?” “Are they smart?” And so on. You had no problem answering his questions and he had no issue giving you questions with how rapidly he shot them at you. Whenever you answered his questions, you could see the wrinkles in his forehead deepen the more you open up about your partner. This was definitely going to take some time for him to get used to. “Thank you for at least telling me, pumpkin.” He says after finishing up the whole Q&A.
♡ Meeting your partner was a must before he’d allow you to hang out by yourselves. When they came over to the shack, Stan had this whole gruff persona. He didn’t show much emotion and when he did, it was to show his distaste for what your partner said. “How long have you known [Name] for?” He interrogated, flashing a bright light to their face. “For a year now, sir.” They responded, shielding their eyes from the shining light. “Sir? I like that.” He mumbles to himself, scribbling +1 point on a notepad. When he turned over to you, he gave you a big thumbs up and a crooked smile. You couldn’t tell if it was going well. “Why do you want to date them?” Stan raised a brow, tapping the pencil on his chin. “Because I fell in love with them, sir.” Stan let out a loud “hmm,” and scribbled down, very straight to the point’ on the note. After the interrogation was over, he ripped the note and gave it to your partner. “This is your score.” He said. “I guess you did good.”
♡ He pulled your partner into a room and had a serious “talk” about something you didn’t have a clue about. But when they came out of the room with a horrified look on his face while Stan was proudly smiling to himself, you had a tiny idea of what he said. They turn around to Stan and Stan twiddles his fingers, his other hand sliding across this neck threateningly. “Dad!” You smacked his arm.
♡ Even after Stan approved of your partner, he still wasn’t fully swayed by them. Whenever they’d be over, Stan would send death glares behind their back when they weren’t looking. But you would always catch them and when you did, Stan would sheepishly smile at you and make a heart gesture and point at your partner. He only ever came around them when Stan noticed them staring at one of the monster tourist attractions. “Whaddya lookin’ at, kid?” They began explaining how interested they were in the craft of making these grotesque monsters and Stan was more than happy to tell them the process. “Glue and staples come in handy, kid. I’ll tell you.”
♡ It wasn’t after that, you’d find your partner and Stan creating all kinds of monsters while cackling and talking. Stan saw you walk in and his face brightened up. “Pumpkin, look at what they made! It is disgusting.” He pointed a glue covered hand to the little ugly statue of a half chipmunk and fish. “Oh? Isn’t this something…” You poke at the monstrosity. “Isn’t it amazing?” Stan laughs, impressed with your partner's handiwork. “Oh, yeah. This is amazing.” You plainly said. “I’m going to leave you two be…” Conversation erupted between the two while you walked away with a big smile to your face.
♡ “I like that kid.” Stan says, a pleased look on his face. “Oh, I can tell, Dad.” You roll your eyes playfully. “Hey! They’re a great person. Perfect fit for my little [Name].” His fingers reached out to pinch your cheeks. “Oh, stop!” You push his hands away. “I’m just messin’ with ya, pumpkin.” Anything will and can make this old man laugh. “You might as well steal them from me.” Stan’s perked up. “Really?” He overplayed his excitement. You send him a dirty look while he barks out in laughter. “You’re gross.”
Ford
♡ He never really thought of you ever dating anyone. Romantic partners didn’t exist to him considering how terribly alone he is. The only thing he ever said about you dating was; “Uh, yeah?” and carried on with his work and that was a good enough answer for you. Ford found out about your partner when he walked in on you and your partner cuddling on the couch. “[Name],” He clears his throat awkwardly, pointing at your partner. “Who is this?” You introduce your partner to Ford and he’s genuinely speechless. “Since when?” He whispers to you after pulling you aside in the kitchen. “Since like, last week?” Ford’s jaw falls open. “And you never thought to tell me?” You shrugged. “I asked you and you said you were okay with it.” You tell him. “When?!”
♡ He would be so awkward around your significant other. “SoWhat is your name?” He’s tugging at his turtleneck, silently dying from how silent this whole exchange is. It takes him a lot of time to warm up to them, a lot of hangouts with the three of you together so he could be comfortable with them. He also uses this as an advantage and studies how they treat you and what they should improve on to make you happier. At the end of the hangouts, he’d slip in a note in their pocket. “If you want to stay with my child, you need to read the note.” He didn’t mean for it to sound menacing, but it was unfortunately received like that. “[Name], I think your dad hates me.”
♡ Like Stan, there’s an interrogation but it’s not as serious as Stan’s. Ford would have called them over and told them to sit down. He begins asking questions and writing down their answers. “What are you hoping to do with [Name]?” Your partner blushed. “To marry them hopefully.” Ford nodded his head. ‘Disgustingly cheesy.’ He wrote it down in big words. “If I ever wanted to conduct experiments on you, would you allow me?” You jump in at the mention of that. “Okay! I think they’ve answered enough questions, Dad!”
♡ He deep cleans the areas where you and your partner hugged, kissed and cuddled in. “Dad, what are you doing?” He has a mask and a plastic protective layer of armor around him. “I’m cleaning all the gross teenage bacteria!” You had to walk out after that. “Is this something you’re seriously going to keep up?” Even though Ford is the smartest man alive, he has trouble understanding the true nature behind relationships. “Yes, Dad. This isn’t a one time thing and we’re over. It’s a relationship.”
♡ Oddly enough, they bonded over their shared interest in researching the wonders of Gravity Falls. You’d often find them outside, Ford kneeled down to the ground, inspecting something while your partner has a notepad in hand, printing down whatever Ford is telling him to write. “Hey, what are you–” “SHHHH!” You looked at them with a confused look. “We need to be utter and total silence.” Ford held out a finger while he whispered notes for them to write. “Why though?” Ford pointed at a sleeping little fairy that was blanketed in a leaf. “Leave the fairy alone!” Ford opened his mouth to argue back, but his nose twitched and before he could react he sneezed, blowing the little fairy away. A silent tiny scream could be heard. “That was awesome, Mr. Pines!” Your partner held a hand out for Ford to high five but Ford was too sad to high five them back.
♡ “Final opinions on them?” You ask. “They aren’t too bad. They could be a good research partner.” You smile. “Just don’t take them from me.” You say, nudging him gently. “Wouldn’t dream of it.”

saw you had asks open, not a drawing request but wanted to know if there was any more story to your human bill’s punishment-for-weirdmageddon-is-to-turn-weak-human au, I really like it (sorry if you explained this a while back, I only just watched gravity falls😭I’m a late-comer to the fandom)
it’s just superepiccool to me, how are dipper and mabel about him being human now? Soos n Wendy, Stan and Ford? What was it like for them (especially Ford) when he just turned human? What was it like for Bill?
oh hey don't worry, I haven't really talked much about the details of the AU like ... ever. I just started reviving it because I got my partner into the show (they are also a new fan! yay, new fans! Funny enough I had no idea TBOB was coming out so the timing was mad exquisite.) and they have just been an amazing help shaping my messy thoughts and coming up with new, fun plots! It's also nice to know there's someone out there interested in it, so thank's for asking! Now that I read TBOB I want to change the premise a bit, but the core is still the same.
Let me tell you this AU is silly. I'm aware Billford is toxic and there are many corners to dive into to picture their messy relationship. But I kinda wanna keep the spirit of the show here and make it equally as fun as it is disturbing. Given that Bill canonically is trapped in endless Therapy gives me even more food to work with, he just out there being toxic and people repeatedly telling him to cut it out.
I'm not gonna go into too much detail because I'm actually working on the first comic chapter for this AU, but regarding the characters: Each of the Pines, as well as Wendy and Soos, are not happy seeing him, but individually grow more accustomed to him and with him. I guess going from "most accepting" to "least accepting", Mabel took it the best. I wouldn't say she was quick to forgive, but quick enough to give the guy a chance. And I honestly have to say that, although this is 100% a Billford AU, there's so many plot ideas for just Mabel and Bill and their amazing, chaotic shenanigans. Put these two together and the stories basically write themselves. Wendy is pretty similar, and the most chill in actually helping Bill figure out human stuff.
Naturally, Ford took it the hardest. I'm aiming for slowburn here, haha. They got to figure out some stuff that I'm so ready to put onto pages... Ford is a lot of emotions. Confused, angered, curious... Meanwhile Stan is Bills biggest hater. (There is a lot of bullying in this AU) He just keeps up with it because his Family makes him. He's very protective and tries to kick Bill out several times. Soos sticks with Stan, but he's also Soos and has a big heart, so in Bills eye, he's very gullible and a target he can mess with easily.
Dipper is not a fan either, he has a hard time adjusting to the triangle just getting to ... be there. He's suspicious for the most part and Bill has to try hard to get on his good side. But honestly he might be more upset with Mabel (and later on Wendy) for making friends with Bill so easily, even though he knows that's just their nature. I just recently started thinking about Gideon and how I'd like to include him, but nothing worth mentioning so far yet.
With Bill himself, one my favorite parts trying to portray so far is how he's dealing with his new mortality. He adjusts to the body fine, he knows how to navigate flesh, but he has a hard time accepting that it's his body. His new prison, essentially. If it's gone, he's gone. If he treat's it like shit, he feels like shit. Then we add the psychological aspect of things. And more importantly, we add Ford to the equation. When I tell you, that demon is experiencing psychological damage here, and it's fully his fault. TBOB really pointed out to me that I need to dive into his obsession with Ford. How do you even get a man you fumbled so bad, to even acknowledge you again?
I love yapping about this AU, thanks again for giving me the grounds to do so anon! I'm an insecure writer so it'll probably take another hot minute to choose which script feels best to draw out, haha. But I'm glad you seem to be up for the ride!!
#tess chatting it up#yapping about the human bill AU#also one of my biggest struggles: how to name a story#after 10 years i still have no idea#anyways (twirls my hair) omg i get to yap about my silly AU teehee#billford#bill cipher#human bill cipher#gravity falls#adfadt#a different form a different time au

Ford's autism
K so I don't think I need to defend the interpretation Ford is on the spectrum. People make jokes about him being autistic all the time. We all see it. What I want to do here is sort of connect together some character details and examine them through the lense of my own autistic experiences.
I wanna start with his hands. It's an observation I've seen from multiple people that Ford is insecure about his hands and often hides them behind his back or in his pockets. And yeah, he is obviously insecure about them. He even mentions his six fingers at times when they aren't really relevant to anything. It just showcases the space this physical deviation of his takes up in his mind. And yes, it makes sense that he's insecure about them because he was bullied for them growing up. I want to add to this observation.
Ford would have been bullied regardless.
The problem was never really his hands. When you're on the spectrum people around you can tell that you're weird. Uncanny. Something is different and feels wrong about you to NT people, especially kids. They will pick any shallow superficial thing they can find as an excuse to bully you and justify the sense of revulsion they feel around you but can't articulate. If Ford had been born with normal hands they just would have made fun of him for something else, it would have been his glasses, or the movies he liked, or hell maybe some good old-fashioned antisemitism. Literally, any excuse they could find.
I know growing up I tried for years to change the things about me that I was made fun of for and it never made things any better. The bullying never stopped. "Fixing" things about myself didn't work because the thing that was actually "broken" was something fundamental to who I am. That realization as a kid was soul-crushing. That there was nothing I could do that would ever make me "normal", that would ever make people like me. I felt like an alien born on the wrong planet.
Ford continues to latch onto his hands as a sore spot because they're something simple and obvious he can point to as an excuse for why he's so outcast. He probably knows by this point that the hands aren't actually the problem. I'd argue this journal entry and his comment about "another failed social interaction" shows that he's aware his hands aren't actually the problem. But, it is a lot easier to fixate on those than to dwell directly on that sinking feeling that at the core of you're being you are fundamentally weird, wrong, unlovable. Ford's a genius. If his polydactyly bothered him that much he could have removed the extra digits. The hands aren't the problem, they're a symbol of a more fundamental kind of pain.
Looking at it through this context also makes the gloves Fiddleford gives him an extra sweet gift given what they represent. A kind of wholehearted acceptance of who Ford is and even a willingness to adapt to his unique needs just to show him love and affection. I think something that hurts me so much about their relationship is that Ford had someone who very clearly loved him as is and would have never wanted him to be someone or something else, and Ford was too stubborn to fully appreciate that.
The same is true of Stanely by the by. He never had a problem with his brother being weird. Another relationship with someone who loved Ford as is but who Ford took for granted. He needs these kinds of relationships in his life. People who embrace and accept him for the weirdo he is. He needs them desperately, which gets me to my next point.
Ford's ego. So it's also a common observation that Ford has a massive ego. He's kind of an ass, to put it mildly. But I have had someone in conversation frame it like the pressure to prove themselves was just on Stanley and Ford just spent his whole life being hyped up and told he was hot shit. This isn't true, or at least it's a flattening of his experiences.
Ford was praised for his genius. This is true. But his own father only gave a shit when said genius showed signs of netting material gains for the family. It only mattered cause Ford could be useful. Furthermore, this genius never netted him social acceptance from his peers growing up. He was still a bullied, weirdo, loser most of his childhood. Add that seeing Stanley kicked out would have drilled into Ford's head that if he couldn't make something out of himself his family wouldn't want him either. Stan was an unspoken threat of what this family does to failures.
Gonna bring up my own personal experiences again. Having set the stage for how it feels growing up on the spectrum. That feeling of alienness that you can't really explain. I loved to write and draw from a very young age. Moreover, as I got older I realized that when I drew, people were nice to me. The only time I got social acceptance was when people were admiring or praising me for my art. So I did it more and more, I devoted myself feverishly to my art. I loved it anyway and would have hyper-fixated on it regardless but the positive reinforcement turned art from something I loved to a need. I NEEDED to be an artist. I needed to be the best at my school. I needed all eyes on my work because it was the only way I could make friends. The only way I could prove that I had value. That I deserved a place in society.
I see that in Ford. I see his ego not as shallow narcissism but as an overwhelming need to prove his value as a person. To be loved and accepted and believing that no one will want him if he isn't brilliant. If he doesn't change the world. If he isn't useful. This is also why he couldn't bring himself to destroy his research even knowing it was the safest and most responsible option. Burning down everything he worked for would mean finally giving up on the fantasy of ever being accepted or valuable.
The sad thing is he's so single-mindedly fixated on this personal goal of proving his worth to the world that when people do come along that love him unconditionally he takes them for granted. These people are statistical anomalies in his life. Nice to have around, but not enough to fix the bigger problem. They aren't reflective of society at large. They aren't enough to prove that he, personally, is loveable. Just that on occasion he meets another weirdo. For a while it's nice. Like a campfire in a barren tundra. But he has to keep moving, he can't stay. Warmer lands are ahead if he can just get to them. If he can just keep moving.
This also is why Ford was so susceptible to Bill. Bill told Ford what he wanted to hear. That he was destined for greatness. That, the fundamental wrongness he felt all his life was something incredible other people just couldn't see. Bill promised Ford exactly what he wanted, but not what he actually needed. Ford never needed the world at large to accept him. He just needed a few good people.
I also think his chemistry with Bill was connected to his autistic experiences as well. Bill is literally an alien. There's no pressure to mask around him. To try and "act normal". Ford can just be himself with Bill and not have to think about it. And sure, he could be himself around Fiddleford, but Fidds is still human. The anxieties of human social expectations are still present. Like when Fidds get him a gift for the holidays and Ford feels a bit guilty that it didn't even occur to him to do the same. He doesn't have to think about these social nuances with Bill.
That said I'm sure Bill isn't what his world would have considered neurotypical anyway. Not that Ford would know that. But Bill was also a strange freak in his own society. Just as outcast, possibly more so. I think Bill sees a bit of his own experiences reflected in Ford. I think he relates to him on a level. Not that he would ever admit it outright due to his own ego. I think Bill's fixation on him after the breakup also stems from Ford rejecting the path that Bill chose for himself. Bill still lives with some sort of deeply repressed guilt for what he did. Imagine how validating it would have been to see someone else like him burn their own world to the ground for the same reasons Bill did. But no, Ford's a better man than him, and Bill can't stand it.
Ok, I don't know how to end this long-ass monologue so I'm gonna call it here I guess. I just wanted to spill some thoughts of mine about Ford as a character. If anyone else wants to add to this with other examinations of Ford's character through this lense go right ahead. I'm just saying as an autistic person myself I understand every choice Ford made. I could relate to why he did the things he did even if I know those were mistakes and even acknowledging that he's kind of an asshole. Ford is a strange man who makes an eerie amount of sense to me.

I know we are going to be moving onto season 6 for WWDITS, but mentally, I'm still in season 4. We just ate so much that season.
Like...
1. Nandor felt so lost and lonely that he returned to the last place he felt at home (which was not Staten Island, but makes total sense considering how he must've felt after Guillermo abandoned him at the train station)
2. Nandor brings up how he misses Guillermo (though it was in a context about cleaning, I think we've all learned to read between the lines whenever Nandor says something like this)
3. Nandor is genuinely surprised to see Guillermo when he is freed from the crate (meaning that Nandor had likely thought he had left like all the other times)
4. When Guillermo points his finger and says, "you're dead to me," and Nandor responds with "what the fuck did I do?" (This further solidifies the idea of Nandor having the mindset of being a scorned bride left at the altar, with him being the one that had suffered, and that Guillermo was the one who left)
5. Nandor defends Guillermo when Laszlo and Nadja tease him
6. Nandor, with absolutely zero hesitation, jumps straight into the open floor to grab and save Guillermo as soon as he falls into the hole
7. Nandor gives Guillermo a robe (likely stolen from the hotel he stayed at while traveling) and proceeds to dry his hair with a towel (also likely stolen)
8. Nandor gets Guillermo a glass of water (it's sewage water, but he's a 750 yr old vampire, I don't think he understands what clean water is anymore)
9. Nandor admits to feeling disrespected about being left at the train station alone (again with the scorned bride left at the altar schtick) before subtly manipulating him to stay/very sneakily trying to find if Guillermo is still in love with him, he brings up this whole scheme about needing Guillermo to be his bestman and help him find a bride
10. Then, Nandor is surprised and overly-nonchalant when he realizes that Guillermo isn't jealous and is actually happy for him (it's that little confused head tilt and dejected, "oh, okay" that really sells it for me, also that overly chipper "great," and tight smile when Guillermo says he will "accept this great honour" like bitch...I see you 👀)
11. Nandor trying to find a partner right away because he's lonely (👀 insert, I know what you are meme, here)
12. Nandor acting as Guillermo's voice while Guillermo is pissed at Laszlo and Nadja
13. Nandor immediately stopping his laughter after he sees that it has upset Guillermo (wouldn't want to risk pissing him off after just getting reunited and missing him the entire time you were apart, would you, Nandor?)
14. Nandor immediately going along with Guillermo's idea and grabbing a pen and paper to write down baby Colin Robinson's answer.
15. Nandor looking to Guillermo for help to rob Fort Knox and then Henry Ford (it's very telling of who he trusts, although one could say it's because Guillermo is familiar, I believe personally that Nandor trusts him after all of his help capturing the sire)
16. Guillermo being the only one to ask and genuinely be interested in Nandor'a travels back home and even going further by asking why it hadn't been a happy trip for him (unlike Laszlo and Nadja)
And this is just episode 1 of season 4.
The rest of the season has so, so, so much more.

reading update: september 2024
I'm turning in the reading roundup a little later than usual, but booooy not for lack of enthusiasm! September was such an interesting month for books, not least of all because you'll notice that things take a spooky turn towards the end of the month. in the name of whimsy I decided that October would be the perfect time to go on a themed reading kick and read through everything vaguely spooky, scary, or horror-related on my TBR, and then I thought, hey, why wait? Halloween is a state of mind, and I want to get spooked.
(have I been spooked yet? well... eh. but there's still time!)
my point being, if you want some creepy recs, hang tight because the October reading roundup is going to be great for you. in the meantime, here's what I read in September:
My Nemesis (Charmaine Craig, 2023) - cannot recommend this brief novel enough if you like very stylized prose about very insufferable people. Craig's protagonist is a memoirist who narrates her tale of woe exactly like she's writing a personal essay that's going to do numbers on twitter, intimate from a detached and analytical distance and giving the strong impression of a person who's made a living being intensely self-obsessed and can't quite manage to turn it off. it's a fascinating approach to a story about an emotionally overwhelming friendship destroying two marriages and ending in a woman's death, all without any actual adultery ever occurring. the narrator is consciously self-conscious, unreliable in the subtle and shifty way of someone trying to take exactly enough culpability to avoid being assigned more. it's a heavily interior novel, but Craig managed to keep me gasping with surprise here and there - the stomach-twisting reveal of why the narrator is actually telling her story, for one, as well as the revelation of the work within the novel that shares its name. if you like a tightly crafted character exercise, you're going to eat this up.
Raiders of the Lost Heart (Jo Segura, 2023) - this was the romance novel picked out via poll over on my patreon for September, and if I may be honest I was NOT excited! to my mind it was the dud of the group, the one amongst the four possibilities that I was most dreading. the garish cover, improbable plot summary, and blatant Indiana Jones of it all (the male love interest is literally named Ford) was a tremendous turn off, and you know what? I was wrong for that. Raiders ended up being one of the better romance novels I've read this year, and not JUST because I've been reading an endless parade of stinkers. the characters are largely free of manufactured drama and are instead believably and sympathetically rendered, with the female lead Corrie being a particular knockout; I would love to be her friend. the plot isn't nearly as cartoonish as the synopsis on the back of the book would have you believe, or at least most of it isn't; the silliness doesn't arrive until almost the very end, when Segura decides she needs some action movie stakes in here ASAP. and while the prose wasn't totally free of the genre's worst bullshit (stop reminding me that Ford's eyes are emerald, I beg), it was for the most part refreshingly no-nonsense. I wasn't even a chapter into this book when I found myself realizing I might really like it, and as of right now it's looking to claim the title of my favorite romance of 2024 in a landslide victory. having said that someone should be in thought crime prison for titling the sequel "Temple of Swoon."
Delicious in Dungeon Vol. 11 (Ryoko Kui, trans. Taylor Engel, 2022) - man you guys Dungeon Meshi is so fucking good. what the fuck. what the hell. it's so genuinely insane that Kui is still able to weave in elements of humor that feel so organic and natural to the characters at this absolutely dire point of the game, when all of my faves are actively in so much danger - largely FROM EACH OTHER - that I'm eating my fingers. christ. some of my students who are in an LGBT book club did Legends and Lattes last month and I just kept wanting to ask if anyone had read Dungeon Meshi for, you know, a very D&D-flavored story that's actually intensely interested in dissecting the tropes of the genre alongside race and class and xenophobia and the social rules of an adventurer heavy world but god. I couldn't. because it's not gay. like Senshi I just want to nourish the youngsters but I can't because it's not gay. please everyone for the love of god just read Dungeon Meshi.
The Most (Jessica Anthony, 2024) - I'm a simple man, and I added this tiny novel to my TBR based on a blurb that really gave me nothing but "a 60s housewife gets in the apartment complex's pool and refuses to get out and it freaks her husband right out." god forbid women do anything, right? anyway, at risk of showing my whole ass I think this is exactly the kind of "disaffected adultery and divorce" book that a lot of tumblr users claim to hate, and I fucking loved it. Anthony is a brilliantly sharp writer who paces her microcosmic drama perfectly, revealing everything at just the right moment like a practiced tour guide showing us around the shadowy corners of an aggressively ordinary marriage. I love adultery and I think this book in particular should be taught in writing courses. sue me.
Dear Senthuran: A Black Spirit Memoir (Akwaeke Emezi, 2021) - I think this year I've reread more books than I have any other year of my adult life, and I'm so glad that I took time to revisit Emezi's memoir. it's genuinely like nothing else I've ever read, one of the boldest and bravest things I've ever read. Emezi's account of godhood, of coming to understand themself as a deity trapped in flesh, is absolutely unwavering, completely grounded in their certainty of their truth and proceeding from there without ever worrying about persuading others to believe them. Emezi is a storyteller's storyteller, and their story doesn't need anyone's approval. but while it can be challenging, I wouldn't call the book confrontational. quite the opposite; in many places it's achingly vulnerable, as Emezi guides you through an unabashed tour of the very worst of their heartbreak, trauma, and alienation, and the times they've nearly succeeded in taking their own life. but god, please don't think this memoir is unrelenting misery. Emezi also speaks so, SO powerfully of opulence, of love, of the dedication to their artistry ad unabashed acknowledgement that they are a peerless talent. Emezi talks about magic of writing in a way that makes me feel like I'm being engulfed in golden-white flames; they make me want to transform myself into the artist I want to be. once again: I am an Emezi stan first and a person second forever.
The Beginning and End of Rape: Confronting Sexual Violence in Native America (Sarah Deer, 2015) - listen, I'll be straight up with you: unless you're exorbitantly interested in rape law, alternatives to carceral "justice," and legalese, this is going to be a very dry read, and there are not enough narrative segments to make up for that. for my money, Deer provides a thorough overview of the difficulties faced by American tribal nations in exercising legal power to prosecute and punish cases of sexual violence, despite the staggering levels of violence experienced by women in many Native communities. I really admired the intensely tempered view that Deer (a member of the Mvskokoe nation) brings to her work, discussing the history of Native approaches to sexual violence without pretending precolonial North America was a feminist utopia and offering thoughtful criticism of proposed substitutions to imprisonment. while the rape laws of any one of the 574 federally recognized tribes in the occupied lands of the United States could be a book on its own and Deer is constrained by the need to cover as much territory as she can in the broadest strokes possible, this is a solid primer to an ongoing social, spiritual, and legal issue that too rarely receives attention outside of Native communities.
Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke and Other Misfortunes (Erica LaRocca, 2022) - straight up I was only trying to read Things Have Gotten worse, LaRocca's somewhat infamous story of a lesbian relationship that goes extremely wrong extremely fast, but the only copy available through my library system came with two more of his short stories (the aforementioned Other Misfortunes). I'm going to save time on the two extra stories: one is an incomprehensible exercise in religious trauma and I did not like it, and the other one was silly because I, personally, simply would not get so trapped in a sense of social obligation that I let my neighbor do stupid riddles to be until I was in a guillotine. rip to that guy but I'm different. anyway, back to the star of the show. I made the mistake of browsing some other people's thoughts on Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke and encountered a truly dizzying number of people whose takeaway seems to be that it's bad not for any stylistic reason but because it depicts two lesbians being in a relationship that's deranged and unhealthy, to which I say you should probably go watch Stephen Universe or something instead of looking for #goodrep in the horror short stories. christ. for my money, Things Have Gotten Worse is messy in the most delicious way, absolutely bonkers from start to finish. escalates pretty much instantly and refuses to let up for truly even a second. cannot believe the predatory mommy dom turns out to be the reasonable one in this dynamic, that one threw me for a loop. it's not incredible but god was I entertained.
Fledgling (Octavia E. Butler, 2005) - another reread, revisiting some of my favorite little freak vampires for the spooky season! although, honestly, the most spooky scary thing about Butler's vampires is probably that vampires look like an Aryan cult and some of them are turbo racist while the other ones insist that it's totally 100% impossible for vampires to be racist and the fact that this gets quite a lot of people killed, something that I'm sure is just a weird coincidence and not any kind of commentary that Butler was making on anything at all. what else is there to say? this is one of Butler's most elaborate explorations of inverted power dynamics, dropping codependent symbiotic sexy vampire polycule cults smack in the middle of the 21st century United States instead of on an alien planet or an apocalyptic wasteland just to really drive home how crazy this shit it. and it's delicious! I love it! what a deliciously different interpretation of vampirism. imagine the utopia we'd be living in if this was the vampire novel that had gotten big in 2005 instead of Twilight.
The Low, Low Woods (Carmen Maria Machado, Dani, and Tamra Bonvillain, 2020) - first I remembered that there are horror comics that I can include in my Octoberish reading, and then I remembered that creepy queen Carmen Maria Machado has published one with DC Comics' Black Label. The Low, Low Woods follows dirtbag teen lesbians Octavia and El in the burnt out coal mining town of Shudder to Think, a town where everyone knows that something's not quite right but no one can seem to leave. the story begins with El and Octavia waking up in a movie theater with no memory of a movie, realizing that they've lost time. the ensuing investigation takes them deep into the town's troubled history, and forces them to realize it's not just the supernatural preying on the town. I love creepy Appalachia and would definitely recommend this for any Old Gods of Appalachia fans, and I will say that so far this is the only one of the spooky reads to really get under my skin and give me a full-body shiver due to the sheer overwhelming awfulness of the implications Machado raises with the revelations in her story. I'm not usually one for trigger warnings in my little roundups, but I cannot emphasize enough that if you have a hard time reading about sexual violence, you'll probably want to skip this one.
The Icarus Girl (Helen Oyeyemi, 2005) - I've been meaning to get into Oyeyemi's large body of work (in part because Akwaeke Emezi speaks quite highly of her) and where better to start than with her debut novel? and why not now, since it was tagged as horror? ultimately I'd concede that the book is creepy but don't know if I'd quite consider myself horrified, and that's completely fine since it's an astonishing piece of prose regardless. writing a believable eight year old narrator of an adult novel is a tricky thing, but Oyeyemi pulls it off beautifully with protagonist Jessamy, effortlessly selling her as an insightful, anxious, and intelligent girl who's still utterly believable as a child. the Icarus Girl revels in the same kind of "powerless child" horror as Gaiman's Ocean at the End of the Lane, following the lonely Jessamy as she initially is befriended and then tormented by a mysterious and powerful little girl that she meets while visiting her mother's family in Nigeria. as her new friends gets increasingly malevolent and out of control, Jess struggles to account for the damage and to be taken seriously by her parents when she tries to explain what's wrong. Oyeyemi apparently wrote this book when she was only a teenager, and if she's been leveling up her craft with each subsequent novel then I have a lot of look forward to.

Here For You
MINORS DNI
warnings: abuse, stalking, HUGE age gap (reader is in their 20’s), premature ejaculation, oral, p in v, creampie, knives, blood, suicide mention, unplanned pregnancy, birth
holy shiiiit this one is long for me, over 7k!!! i included my cat in this fic, beans! he’s my darling little man who I love very much!!! his name comes from his paw pads looking like little coffee beans. obvious juno reference at the end is obvious, love that movie to death.
You awoke to sunlight streaming through the gaps in the blinds of your apartment window. You stretched and rolled out of bed, making your way to the bathroom to brush your teeth and shower. You dried yourself off and returned the bedroom, pulling out a t-shirt and a pair of jeans from your dresser and putting them on.
As you bent over to put on your shoes, your siamese cat, Beans, weaved his way in between your legs. You reached out to scratch behind his ears and he leaned into your hand in approval. You grabbed your keys and locked the door behind you, heading down the steps to your car. A note lay on the windshield.
Expecting it to be some sort of scam, not unlike the ones your research partner’s brother was famous for, you picked it up to inspect it. As you read, you recognized the handwriting and felt all of the color drain from your face. This was anything but someone looking to make a quick buck.
“Y/n
You can’t shut me out of your life forever. Just because you keep calling the cops doesn’t mean I’m giving up. WE HAD SOMETHING! Try calling them again and see what happens, I don’t care. Nothing is gonna come between us and if I find out you’re fucking anyone else I’ll make sure no one can ever have you again.”
This unfortunately had become the norm for you, your ex boyfriend had been relentless in pursuing you. This note however was aggressive, even for him. You had called the police so many times that you’d lost count. Due to his father being a lawyer, an incredibly good one at that, he always seemed to beat the charges. At this point you didn’t even bother with getting the law involved, you knew he would always come out on top.
You had met him in the year your research partner, Stanford Pines, was off at sea with his brother. You broke up with your ex a week before they returned, so at the very least he didn’t know where you worked. Despite being a kitschy tourist trap, the Mystery Shack was one of the only places you felt safe. You stuffed the threatening note in your pocket. If something happened, you might as well have the evidence to incriminate him.
You got in your car and turned your keys, making your way to work on the outskirts of town. The entire drive you struggled to fight back tears. As you pulled up to the shack you felt yourself begin to spiral. You slammed the car door, sat down on the couch on the front porch and sobbed. You were so exhausted and terrified. You seriously didn’t know how much more of this you could take. You began to shake when you heard the front door open and you quickly attempted to wipe away your tears.
“There you are, y/n. I was worried when you weren’t in the lab at your usual time. It’s incredibly unlike you to not be punctua- oh dear, is everything alright?” Ford said with great worry.
“I- I’m fine, it’s nothing.” You said, trying to hide a sniffle and failing.
He sat next to you on the couch.
“If it were nothing you wouldn’t be crying like this. Now tell me, what’s wrong?”
“It’s- it’s just… my ex again. I found this on my car this morning.”
You handed him the note and watched as his eyes scanned the words. His face fell, expression serious.
“Y/n this is horrible, you need to go to the poli-“
“You know nothing ever comes of it! His fucking lawyer dad gets him out of it every time!” You said, beginning to sob again.
“I’m so sorry, y/n. I know firsthand what it’s like to have someone you once loved turn against you, threaten to hurt you for breaking things off. I promise I’m here for you.” He said, putting a reassuring hand on your shoulder.
“I- I don’t know what I’m going to do. He knows where I live and I can’t just move out, I don’t have the funds for that. What if he decides to do something? What if he hurts me or, god forbid, Beans?”
He took his chin in his hand, thinking. You could tell he was trying to come up with a solution. If there was one thing you knew about Ford it was that he was a fixer.
“How about this? You can stay here for a while. He never got to know that you work here, right? Tonight after we finish up in the lab we can head to your place and I’ll help you pack the essentials.”
You felt your heart thump in your chest. You had secretly harbored a crush on Ford for quite some time, since the day you first met. So the idea of living with him, possibly growing closer, seemed like an incredibly shiny silver lining.
“That sounds grea- wait, what about Beans?“
“Of course he can come with you! I’ll have a word with Stanley if he tries to give you grief over it, but I’m certain once I fill him in tonight on the situation he’ll understand.”
That night you drove with Ford to your apartment. Thankfully your ex was nowhere in sight. You led him up the stairs and unlocked the door, as you swung it open Beans greeted you with a long, loud meow. Ford smiled.
“Ah, so this is the little scoundrel I’ve heard so much about.”
Beans circled his legs and rubbed his head against them. Normally when men came over he acted incredibly aloof, so to see him be so affectionate, especially a man he’d never met, did something to your heart. You already felt safe with Ford beforehand, but now even more so.
“Alright, let’s get started!” Ford said, rolling up his sleeves.
-
You finished loading the last of your things into the trunk of your car. Beans sat in his carrier in the backseat.
“Are you sure you have everything?” Ford asked.
“Positive.”
“Good, let’s head back.”
You made the drive to the shack along winding, pine tree flanked roads. When you arrived Stan was waiting on the front porch. He and Ford helped move your stuff into the room his niece and nephew shared when they came to visit.
You let Beans out of his carrier, he laced himself between Stan’s legs and any possible hangups you might’ve had about staying in a house with two old men quickly vanished.
“Heh, you know I used to have a cat once, Freeloader. Found her digging around in my trash.” Stan chuckled.
“Alright, Stanley, let’s give them a chance to settle in.” Ford said.
They turned to leave the room.
“Give us a holler if you need anything, kid.” Stan said as Ford shut the door behind them.
You flopped back on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Beans hopped onto you, sitting in a loaf on your chest. You gave him his favorite thing, a scritch behind the ear and he purred happily. Between the gentle rumble of your cat and finally being able to relax in a place that felt safe, you began to drift off. You awoke an hour later to a knock.
“Y/n?” Ford’s voice called from behind the door.
You made a motion to get up, Beans leapt down and you crossed the room to open the door.
“What’s up?”
“So, there’s a documentary about Yellowstone that’s going to start in a few minutes. I know it’s something that would be interesting to you and I figured it might be a good distraction from the unpleasantries of this morning. Just a suggestion though.”
He fidgeted with his hands and looked at the floor… was he blushing? You smiled, taking him up on the offer.
“Sounds good.”
He smiled back. “Perfect.”
You both descended the stairs to the living room, Beans trotting behind you. Ford gestured to the recliner.
“I figure you deserve the better seat.”
“A gentleman as always, Ford.” You said, sitting down.
He pulled a chair from the nearby table and sat next to you. Beans jumped into your lap and curled up. You leaned back into the chair as the documentary opened with a scene of wolves hunting in the wintertime.
As time passed your mind began to wander to memories of past relationships. Sadly, men like your ex were a pattern in your life, you always seemed to attract the worst of the worst. You wanted so badly to just have a happy and healthy relationship like all of your friends. Yet no matter how hard you tried to find a decent one, they always turned out to be awful. Tears started to fall as these thoughts ran through you. Ford could see it out of the corner of his eye. He turned to you, face full of concern.
“Y/n? What’s the matter?”
“No, it’s stupid.” You sniffled.
“Whatever it is, if it’s making you feel this way, then it’s not stupid.”
You took a breath, looking down. “I just… I feel like no matter what I do I bring horrible men into my life. I try and try so hard to make sure I find one that’ll treat me right, but just as I start to feel safe they betray me in one way or another. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. It feels like I’m cursed. Maybe I just don’t deserve any of the good ones.”
He took your cheek in his hand, wiping away your tears with his thumb and turning your head to face him.
“Hey, look at me. Don’t ever think that you’re not worthy of a good man’s time. You’re incredibly brilliant, creative, and compassionate. You have a fantastic sense of humor and your beauty is breathtaking.”
You turned bright red.
“You think I’m beautiful?”
“Absolutely, without question. Were I a younger man I would’ve-“
You leaned in and cut him off with a kiss, he pulled back.
“Wh- what are you doing?”
“Ford… I like you, so much. I think I always have.”
“I- I have too, but… I can’t. It wouldn’t be right. You’ve been through so much lately, I feel like I’d be giving you whiplash.”
You set Beans down on the floor, standing and moving to straddle Ford’s lap. You felt him grow instantly hard against you. He stared at you, eyes filled with a primal need. He was doing everything he could to hold himself back, keeping his hands at his sides.
“I want this, Ford.”
“N- no you’re so much younger than me, I feel like I would be taking advantage of you. You don’t want an old man like me.”
You laced your fingers in his hair, kissing him far more passionately than before. He didn’t pull back this time.
You whispered into his ear. “But I do though. I really, really do.”
He let his hands travel to your back, bringing you closer. He pressed his lips to yours and moaned softly into your mouth, then broke away to pepper kisses into your neck.
“Oh, Ford.” You moaned.
He returned his lips to you and began testing the waters with his tongue when he heard a loud clearing of the throat. Both of you turned your heads to see Stan in the doorway.
“Look uhhh, I’m happy for you two and all, but… c’mon get a room.”
Ford huffed. “Stanley, there is such a thing as looking the other way.”
“Hey! I live in this house too!” Stan retorted, crossing his arms.
Ford shot him a look that said “I’m in the middle of something here.”
“Fine, fine. Just try not to make a mess on the furniture.” Stan grumbled, waving a hand and turning to leave.
Ford waited until Stan was out of sight before picking you up underneath your thighs and moving to sit in the recliner with you in his lap.
“Now, where were we?” He purred.
He kissed you deeply and you slipped your hands down to the hem of your shirt, beginning to lift it up. Ford put his hands to yours.
“No, not now.” Ford said between kisses.
“But… don’t you want this?”
“More than anything, just not tonight. Making love with you is something I want to work up to.”
“You’d be the first man in my life to do so.”
“Well, no offense, but I think I can do far better than the brutes who dared to think they were worthy of your affection. Someone like you deserves respect.”
You kissed him again, grinding against the bulge in his pants. He buried his head into your neck and whimpered.
“Oh god- ah- it- it’s been over 30 years since I’ve been with someone. Even just feeling you against me is almost t- too much. Hhhnh.”
You leaned down and bit his neck, this was apparently more than what poor old touch starved Ford could take. He cocked his head back, giving an exceedingly loud moan and bucking his hips as he came.
“Ford… did you-“
He turned beet red, putting a hand to his forehead.
“In the name of- I’m so sorry. Like I said it’s been so long and you’re incredibly gorgeous, I couldn’t help it.”
You pressed a kiss to his cheek.
“It’s okay, I’m kind of flattered that I could work you up this much.”
He kissed you and stood, lifting you up and setting you on the recliner.
“Well… I need to take care of this. I’ll be right back.”
-
A week and a half had gone by with you and Ford growing incredibly close. On this particular early spring afternoon Ford led you on a hike to one of his favorite spots, a meadow that lay at the base of the mountains. The sun hung low in the sky, turning it a mix of orange and pink. Ford pulled out a blanket from his rucksack, unfurling it and setting it in the tall grass. He sat and patted the spot next to him and you sat next to him as he pulled out a bottle of red wine and two glasses.
“Ford Pines, look at you being a romantic.”
“I spent 30 years away from all possible comforts of another human being. It gave me a lot of time to think about how I would treat my love should I ever have the chance again.”
You put a hand to his cheek and kissed him.
“I’m glad to be yours.”
He uncorked the bottle and poured it into both glasses, handing one to you. You clinked them and as his eyes met yours you couldn’t help but notice how handsome he looked in the light of the golden hour.
After you finished your glasses, Ford moved in closer, kissing you passionately, the sweet taste of wine on his breath. His hands wandered up and down your body. You had become very familiar with his touch in the short time of living with him, but this time the way he moved his hands on you felt different, a strong feeling of desire.
“If I didn’t know any better I’d say you wanted to do more than just drink wine.” You said.
“Why do you think I brought you out here? With Stanley in the house we’d have to be quiet. But here?” He said between kisses. “Here you can be as loud as you want. That and I’ve always wanted to make love in the beauty of nature.”
“Stanford Pines, how dare you have an ulterior motive!” You said, playfully swatting him on the back of the head.
“I’m sorry, love. I’ve been planning this for days, since that first night we shared. I wanted things to be perfect for our first time.”
“You? Having meticulously thought out plans? Never would’ve guessed.” You teased.
Ford’s hands wandered south and began to tug up at your shirt.
“Is this okay?”
You nodded.
“Good girl.”
You turned bright red and Ford gave a devilish smile.
“Oh? Do you like that?”
“I may or may not have a praise kink.”
“Duly noted.”
He lifted your shirt over your head and wrapped his arms around your back to unhook your bra. He slid the straps off your shoulders and stared longingly at your chest.
“Dear moses, your breasts are incredible.”
He took one in his hand, stroking your nipple with his thumb. You moaned softly at his touch.
“Does it feel that good?” He asked.
“No it’s not that, I’ve just wanted your hands on me like this for so long. You don’t know the things I’ve imagined about you since we met.”
He kissed you deeply.
“I think you’ll be pleased to know our fantasies aligned. Not long after we met I would spend my nights stroking myself to the thought of you. God, there were times you’d be down in the lab and you would unintentionally brush up against me. I’d grow hard instantly and have to head upstairs to my room to take care of it.”
“So that explains why you’d come back down all breathless and red-faced.”
He chuckled. “And I thought I was doing a good job at hiding it.”
Ford returned to undressing you, sliding your shorts down your legs. He traced the delicate lace of your panties with his fingers. He hooked his thumbs underneath them and slowly pulled them off you. He looked down, you were dripping.
“So wet for me already, dear god you’re perfect.”
Ford lowered himself down your body, leaving a trail of kisses in his wake. He reached your pussy, his warm breath felt incredibly good. He locked his lips around your clit, licking it, somewhat ineptly, with the tip of his tongue.
“You taste so good, far sweeter than semen.”
You couldn’t help but giggle at his choice of words. He stopped, looking up at you.
“W- what? What did I say?”
“Just you and your need to use scientifically accurate terms.”
He cocked an eyebrow.
“Would you prefer I used ‘cum’?”
“Well quite frankly if you say ‘I’m going to ejaculate’ later I think I might never fuck you again.”
He chuckled. “Fair enough, princess.”
He returned his tongue clumsily to your clit for a moment before pausing again.
“Am I doing okay?”
“I mean… to be blunt it seems like you don’t have much experience with this.”
“Oh dear, I’m sorry. This is all new to me. It’s embarrassing to admit at my age, but you’re the first person with female anatomy I’ve ever had sex with. So quite frankly I have little idea of- mmf!”
You silenced him by gripping is hair and shoving his mouth to your clit.
“You’ll find it’s pretty intuitive. Just treat it like the head of your cock.”
He heeded your advice, sucking and swirling his tongue around your clit sloppily, you shuddered in pleasure. If the first thing you knew about Ford was that he’s a fixer, the second was that he’s a fast learner. He growled against your clit and you whimpered loudly, tightening your grip on his hair.
“Did that feel good, love?”
“Dear god, t- the vibrations.”
He sucked furiously, rolling his tongue against you. You arched your back. The pleasure started to feel overwhelming, you weren’t going to last much longer. You started to buck your hips against his mouth.
“Good girl, cum for me.”
His words of praise completely undid you, cumming all over his face with a loud moan. He didn’t stop, coaxing a second orgasm from you, then a third. You shook, completely overstimulated.
“Oh jesus, F- Ford.”
“Sorry, sweetheart. I’ve read the female orgasm can happen in multiples and I couldn’t resist testing it for myself.”
You giggled. “I’d expect no less from a man of science.”
Ford stood and removed his trench coat and sweater. Scars covered his body, you assumed from a mix of Bill’s abuse and years of trying to survive in different dimensions. Somehow his scars made him hotter. Ford noticed your eyes wandering back and forth along his scarred torso.
“Sorry, I know it’s not the most appealing to look at with all of the damag-“
“No, no! I like it actually.” You interrupted.
He blushed.
“Y- you do?”
“It makes you look tougher.” You purred.
“God, you know just how to make this old man feel attractive.” He said, returning to taking off his clothes.
He undid his belt and slid his pants down his legs. His cock strained in his boxers, from the outline alone you could see he was huge. He slipped his thumbs into his boxers and pulled them off. You couldn’t help staring at his cock, you bit your lip. Ford sat and pulled you onto his lap, kissing you. You could taste yourself on him. He laid back on the blanket.
“Ready? I know I can be kind of big for some, so take it slow. I don’t want you hurting yourself.” He said softly.
You nodded and lowered yourself slowly on his cock, letting your pussy adjust to being stretched by his intimidating girth until you reached the hilt.
“Oh dear god, I’ve n- never felt anything like this. You feel incredible, stardust. So warm and- nnnnh- wet.”
“Did you just call me stardust?”
“Do you not like it?”
You leaned down and kissed him.
“No, I love it.”
You began to move yourself on him, lifting and dropping your hips.
“A- ah yes, that’s it, good girl. You feel so perfect. Absolutely perfect.”
Ford let his hand travel between your thighs, stroking your clit with his thumb.
“How does that feel? Good?” He asked.
“U- uh huh.” You whimpered.
You rested your hands on his chest, moving in a motion to slide Ford’s cock fully in and out of you. He tilted his head back.
“G- god, you don’t know how long I dreamed of this, of you.” He whimpered.
“As have I, and… I have a confession to make. I used to touch myself while thinking of you too, I did it the that night after we met. And I- oh god, this is so embarrassing- I ah, stole one of your sweaters once. I’ve always loved your scent and I would make myself cum while taking it in.”
He chuckled. “So that’s where that went, but it’s good to know I wasn’t the only one unable to resist the urge of touching oneself to the sole thought of their research partner. You drove me absolutely wild, you still do.”
You started to move faster, your breathing becoming shallow. Ford could sense you were close, so was he.
“M- may I cum in you? Will you cum with me?“
“Please.” You said through shaky breaths.
He tightened his grip on your hip and began to buck into you while increasing the speed to your clit. You felt the pressure within you build, you were right on the edge. You cocked your head back.
“Oh god, I’m gonna- hhnnn.”
He reached up to cup your chin and tilted your face down to look at him.
“Look into my eyes. I want to see your eyes when you cum.”
You looked down at him at the exact moment you felt your body ignite in pleasure. The feeling of your pussy spasming around Ford’s cock immediately sent him over. He released your clit, both hands holding firm on your hips as he slammed you down on the full length of his cock, shooting every single drop of cum inside you. The warmth flooded your insides.
“Oh god, y/n!” He moaned.
His hips slowed, the only sound either of you made was heavy panting as your pleasure subsided. Ford pulled you down into a kiss. You got off of him and laid with your head against his chest. You both lay in silence until you remembered something he had said minutes ago.
“Ford, can I ask you something?”
“Sure, anything.”
“You said I’m your first person with female anatomy. So… who was your actual first?”
Ford smiled, you could tell the question had brought back memories.
“It was so long ago. He was my old college roommate, then years later became my research partner. It seems I have a habit of developing feelings for my coworkers.” He chuckled.
“Wait, McGucket?”
He laughed. “Yes, you wouldn’t know it now, but back then Fidds was quite the catch. I’ll have to show you a picture sometime. We experimented heavily during college, neither of us willing to admit that we wanted something more. Then, after he came to work with me on the portal, we were mature enough to confess our feelings to each other. It was perfect, just the two of us, but then I-“
He let his words fade, looking off into afternoon sky. His eyes seemed wistful.
“I don’t know… between how I treated him at the end, most likely being the straw that broke the camel’s back in his marriage, and sending him down a spiral that would destroy his sanity… I still harbor a lot of guilt. Bill was using me, but I used Fiddleford too. I know he and Emma-May had been on the rocks for quite a while, yet I still feel responsible. After Weirdmageddon we rekindled our friendship and I apologized for ruining his life, but I live with knowing I can never undo the damage I caused.”
He turned his gaze to you, taking your cheek in his hand.
“Y/n, I never want to hurt you like I hurt him. I want to be a better man, a better partner than I ever was for him.”
You kissed him.
“Ford, I trust you. I can sense the effort, and that’s all I could ask for.”
He kissed you back.
“What did I ever do to deserve someone as perfect as you?”
-
Two weeks had passed. You were once again spending a late evening with Ford in the lab. He set down his pen and stood from his chair, coming behind you and putting his hands on your waist. He kissed your neck.
“So I was thinking we could call it early tonight. There’s supposed to be a meteor shower. How about you and I hike to the nearby hill where we’ll have a good view of the event?”
You turned to face him and smiled.
“Sounds perfect, Ford.”
“Fantastic. You can head outside and wait for me, I just need to speak with Stanley about something first.”
“See you shortly, then.” You said, standing on tiptoe to kiss his cheek.
You made your way up the stairs, walking through the shack and out to the front porch. You stared up into the night sky and caught a glimpse of a few bright streaks. You couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather for something like this.
You smiled and thought to yourself. “For all of the chaos I’ve been through, things are finally starting to look u-“
You froze as a dark figure crept out from the side of the shack.
“Thought I wouldn’t find you, huh? You’ve been busy, whoring yourself out for some old man. It’s fucking pathetic. You know what has to happen now, I warned you what I’d do if I found out you weren’t being faithful to me.” He threatened, brandishing a knife.
You wanted to run, but your legs wouldn’t move. You did the next best thing and screamed.
“FORD!”
He pounced on you and sunk the knife into your chest, you tried to scream again, but all of the air in you left. He had punctured your lung.
-
Ford stood in the empty gift shop with Stan. Soos counted the day’s profits at the till. The brothers were in the middle of a discussion.
“Yes, but what I think is important is that-“
“FORD!”
Stan and Ford looked at each other, silently agreeing by your tone that something serious had happened and booked it outside, Soos followed. Ford swung open the door to see you collapse to the ground, your ex boyfriend standing over you. He looked up at Stan and Ford in the doorway, but before he could turn to run both men were on him. Stan managed to land a punch square to his jaw before he and Ford tackled him to the ground.
“What did you do? WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM?” Stan barked.
Your ex spat out a tooth. “What that fucking bitch gets for being your brother’s whore.”
Stan shoved your ex’s face into the gravel and turned to Ford.
“I got it from here, sixer, this scrawny kid ain’t going nowhere. Go make sure y/n is okay.”
Stan turned to Soos who stood in shock on the porch.
“Soos, call 911!”
“O- on it, Mr. Pines!”
Ford hurried quickly to you. You lay motionless on the ground on your side, struggling to breathe. He could tell by the pool of blood that it wasn’t good. He gently turned you over on your back and his eyes widened at the sight of the knife stuck in your chest.
“Y/n! Y/n!”
Your eyes struggled to focus.
“F- Ford?” You murmured faintly.
“I’m here, y/n. We’re going to get you some help, it’ll be okay.”
“It h- hurts.” You gasped.
“I know, just try to breathe.”
“I can’t, the knife.” You struggled out.
“I’m so sorry sweetheart, but if I remove it you’ll bleed out.”
“They’re on their way, Mr. Pines!” Soos shouted.
Your attempts to take in a breath were becoming increasingly labored and shallow.
“Stay with me, y/n, just hold on for a little longer!”
You put a hand to Ford’s cheek.
“Ford, I-“
Your eyelids became incredibly heavy, your hand fell to the ground and you went limp. The last thing you heard was Ford calling your name.
-
Your eyes slowly fluttered open.
“Mmmnh.” You groaned.
“Sixer! Sixer! They’re awake!”
You turned your head to see Stan shaking his brother who had been sleeping in a chair next to you.
“Huh? Wha- y/n!” Ford said, taking your hand, which you noticed had an IV placed in it.
“I’m gonna go get the doctor, be right back!” Stan said, already at the door and slamming it behind him.
“Ford, what happened? Where am I?”
You made a motion to sit up, but an intense pain in your chest protested. You hissed out a sharp breath.
“Easy, stardust. You’ve been through a lot. You’re in the hospital, you’ve been in a coma for two weeks. Do you remember anything?”
Your brow furrowed as you tried to recall your last moments. It was nighttime, you were outside the shack, there was a meteor shower and then… your eyes widened as the memories came flooding back.
“Wait, what happened with-“
“It’s been taken care of. He’s in custody and from the looks of it he’s most likely never coming back out, not even that lawyer of a father can save him this time. They found a note in his apartment, he had been planning this for a while. He was going to flee the scene and commit suicide if Stanley and I hadn’t been there to stop him. From what I’ve looked up, in Oregon aggravated attempted murder can carry a life sentence.”
You gave a sigh of relief that quickly turned to anger.
“It never should’ve come to this.” You said through gritted teeth.
He looked away. “I know, I’m so sorry. If I hadn’t stayed back to talk to Stan this never would’ve happe-“
“Don’t. Don’t you dare blame yourself for even a second over this. The law failed me, not you.”
“Still, I should have known better than to leave you alone.” He said, a tear ran down his cheek.
You squeezed his hand.
“You still saved my life, I wouldn’t be here right now if it wasn’t for you.”
Stan returned with the doctor. He did a quick assessment of your vitals and asked you questions to determine if you’d suffered any cognitive impairments or memory loss.
“Well despite the circumstances you appear to be in good health. Your vitals are stable and your memory and cognitive functioning seem to be in order. However, there was something we picked up when we tested your blood. I’m just going to be blunt, you’re pregnant.”
You looked at Ford, he looked back at you and squeezed your hand. The doctor turned his attention to Ford.
“Now, are you the patient’s fath-“
“Partner.” Ford corrected.
The doctor raised an eyebrow before continuing, his eyes back on you.
“I would recommend getting yourself in with an OBGYN. If you need anything, press the call button and a nurse will be with you.” He turned on his heels and left.
Silence hung in the air for a moment before Stan broke it.
“So… I guess I’m getting another niece or nephew. I’ll uh… I’ll leave you two alone to talk.”
He shut the door behind him. You turned your gaze back to Ford.
“Ford, I- I promise I was on birth control. I don’t know how this happened.”
He cupped your cheek.
“It’s alright stardust, these things happen. What do you want to do? No matter your choice, I promise I’ll support you.”
“I- I want to keep it. I’ve always wanted kids and with the way you treat Dipper and Mabel, I know you’d be an amazing father.”
His face lit up.
“You really mean that?”
“Absolutely.”
He pressed a deep kiss to you. When he pulled away he looked at you like he wanted to say something.
“What is it?” You asked.
He took a deep breath. “I know it’s soon, but after almost losing you and now with this I don’t see a point in hiding how I feel. I love you, y/n, with every single cell and atom of my being. I will do all I can to be a good father to our child, and the best partner I can be for you. No matter what, I promise to always love you. You’re my everything, stardust.”
You were speechless. Out of all of the men that had come in an out of your life, no one had ever said anything close to this. No one had ever promised their love and utter devotion to you like him.
“I love you too, Stanford Pines.” You smiled.
-
When you finally discharged from the hospital Ford immediately made a trip to the library, returning with a stack of pregnancy books in his arms. He pored over the material for days.
He was very insistent that you follow a strict prenatal vitamin regimen. He became incredibly attentive to you, any complaint of symptoms was immediately met with a solution. Nausea? He’s brewing you a pot of ginger tea. Your back hurts? He’s running you a warm bath with lavender oil.
At your 18 week ultrasound it was finally time to determine the sex. You had both originally agreed to keep it a surprise, but the curiosity was too much for either of you to handle.
The technician ran the probe across your stomach as a grainy picture of a fetus formed on the screen. Every time Ford could get a glimpse of his and your child he savored the moment, not wanting to even blink as to not miss a single second. He kept the first ultrasound picture in a frame on his desk.
“Alright, let’s get a good look here.” The tech said.
Ford held your hand tightly.
“Congratulations you two, it looks like you have a girl.”
You watched Ford’s face light up just as it did when you told him you wanted to keep the baby.
“A girl, we’re having a little girl.” He said softly.
As the months passed Ford would find any reason to hug you from behind, his hands caressing your stomach. During one particular instance, he rested his head on your shoulder after wrapping his arms around you when he felt something press against his hand.
“Wait a minute, I think she’s kicking!” Ford said, completely ecstatic.
“Yeah! I can feel it!” You said, matching his energy.
Ford moved to stand in front of you, his hand never leaving you.
“Fascinating, truly fascinating.” He whispered.
Mabel, who was visiting along with her twin for the summer, burst into the room.
“DID I HEAR THAT MY COUSIN IS KICKING???”
“Yes! She-“ Ford began before Mabel cut him off by speeding over and unintentionally knocking him aside.
She placed a hand on your stomach and felt the kick of a tiny foot.
“Whoaaaaaaa, this is so cool! I mean I knew it already obviously, but there really is like a little person in there.”
-
After the trauma around your last hospital stay, you opted for a home birth with a midwife. Ford did extensive research and insisted on a water birth. You were hesitant at first, but he managed to convince you after stating that it reduced pain, shortened labor time, and gave the baby an easier transition into the world.
Your water broke late into the night and labor started around the same time the next day. Half a day passed with the contractions becoming longer and more intense. The midwife arrived and set up the birthing pool in the bedroom. Every so often you entered the warm water to ease the pain and felt your muscles relax. Ford held your hand in his, you squeezed it tightly enough to break it. The midwife checked your cervix.
“You’re fully dilated, it’s time to start pushing. Mr. Pines, do want to help deliver?” The midwife asked.
“Yes, absolutely.” Ford answered, moving himself in front of you.
You pushed as hard as you could, the baby slowly moved through you and it felt like you were being torn apart. An hour and a half later and you were at your limit.
“I- I don’t know if I can keep going.” You said, tears falling.
“Yes you can, y/n, you’re so strong. Breathe.” Ford said softly.
“Alright, the baby’s crowning. You’re going to need to support the head once it’s out.” The midwife instructed to Ford.
“Got it.” He said.
You screamed, your lower half might as well have been on fire.
“You’re doing so well, y/n, she’s almost here. Just breathe.” Ford soothed.
“If you tell me to breathe one more time, I’m going to fucking strangle you.” You growled through clenched teeth.
Ford took the baby’s head in his hands, guiding her out. Once the head passed, the rest came quickly. You felt two more contractions, and she finally arrived. Ford stared in awe at the crying baby in his arms.
“My god, she’s beautiful, y/n.”
“Mr. Pines? Do you want to cut the cord?” The midwife asked, offering a pair of scissors.
Ford nodded and took the scissors, cutting the umbilical cord two inches away from the baby’s navel. As he held her he caught sight of her clenched little fists. Six fingers on each hand, just like him. He looked at her in pure adoration, he would have loved her and given her the world regardless, but now he felt connected to her on a cosmic level. A childhood of being bullied was entirely worth it just for this moment. Tears streamed down his face, he was completely enveloped in a sea of love and emotion until the midwife spoke up.
“Uhh, do you maybe wanna hand her to-“
“O- oh! Yes, of course!”
As he passed the baby to you it was immediately obvious why he was so enamored with her. You held her against your chest.
“Oh Ford, she’s perfect. And you’re right, she’s absolutely beautiful.”
He leaned down to kiss you.
“I think I know where she gets it from.” He smiled.
Time passed and you handed the baby off to Ford so you could shower. As you dried off and began dressing yourself in a comfortable pair of pajamas you heard a cry from down the hall. You quickly buttoned up the top and made your way to the bedroom.
“She must be hungry.” Ford said.
You got into the bed you had convinced Ford to purchase once you officially moved in with him after you were told you were pregnant. Before that he slept on the couch and it drove you crazy. He handed your new baby girl to you and you unbuttoned your top. It took a few attempts, but eventually she latched and began to nurse.
“So, I know we’ve already settled on your mother’s name for her middle name, but we still have our list of first names to pick from. What are you thinking?” You asked.
Ford smiled. “Well I do have one that I’ve grown really fond of.”
“Me too. How about we both say our choice on three?”
Ford nodded.
“Okay. One, two, three-“
“Juno!” You both said in unison.
You stared at each other before bursting out in laughter.
“Well I guess that’s settled then. Welcome to the world my little Juno.” Ford said, holding her tiny hand.
Beans hopped up on the bed and approached Juno cautiously, sniffing the top of her head.
Ford chuckled. “Hmm, I don’t think he knows quite what to make of her.”
“That’s pretty on brand for cats. When my parents brought home my siblings, our cats were terrified of them.”
You gave Beans a scritch behind the ears and he relaxed at your touch, purring and curling into a ball on your lap. You felt complete, you had your little family all together. Juno finished nursing and you begin to grow sleepy. The adrenaline from pushing out a small human left you and exhaustion took its place. Ford noticed immediately.
“It’s alright, I can take her. You need your rest.”
Ford gingerly took Juno in his arms, holding her against his chest. You snuggled up against him as you felt yourself drift off to sleep. You awoke to Stan entering the room two hours later.
“Everyone’s favorite uncle is here! How’s my niece doing? What name did you guys end up going with?”
“Juno.” Ford responded.
“Heh, I wouldn’t expect anything less from you two nerds. Now c’mon, let the best uncle ever hold her.”
Ford handed Juno to Stan and he took her in his arms. She grasped his finger in her round little fist.
“Would you look at that, we got another sixer here!”
Stan’s phone rang in his pocket.
“I think that’s Mabel, I texted her that you had the baby.” Stan said.
You sat up as Stan gave Juno to you. He answered his phone.
“Hey, kiddo! Yeah! Yeah they’re doing great, so is the baby. Juno. That’s what I said! Oh believe me, I’ll make sure she’s spoiled rotten. Of course! I’d love to have you two over for the break! Sure, I’ll let you talk to him.”
Stan handed the phone to Ford.
“Hello, Mabel. Yes! It’s incredibly strange to say, but I’m officially a father. Correct, from Greek mythology. Eight pounds, five ounces. Oh she’s absolutely beautiful! Thankfully she didn’t inherit my nose, but she does have my fingers!”
You heard Mabel’s shriek through the phone and an excited “DIPPEEEEERRR! SHE HAS HIS FINGERS!”
Ford laughed before continuing.
“I know, all twelve! It’s perfect, truly meant to be. Caryn. Yes, after your great grandmother, she would have loved her. Y/n? I’ll let you talk to them.”
Ford passed the phone to you.
“Hey, Mabel!” You said.
“Hiiii, y/n! I already asked grunkle Stan this, but how are you doing?” Mabel asked.
“Great, exhausted, but great.”
“Duuude I bet! Giving birth to a tiny person must be like soooo crazy! Oh! Did grunkle Stan ever tell you when I was born that I punched the doctor right in the face?” She said, almost boastful.
You laughed. “Somehow that sounds like something you’d do.”
“You know, I always thought you and grunkle Ford were perfect for each other. You’re both huge nerds who like weird stuff. If you two get married, promise you’ll make me a bridesmaid!”
”Of course Mabel, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“I feel like youre already a part of the family though! You might as well be my grauntie at this point!”
You smiled. “I’m honored.”
“Oh hey, Dipper and me are thinking of visiting during winter break later this month, so hopefully I’ll get to meet my new little cousin soon! You can give the phone back to grunkle Stan, I wanna say bye. Make sure to give Juno lots of kisses for me!”
“Will do!” You said and handed the phone to Stan.
“Thanks for checking in, pumpkin. It’s good to hear from you. Say hi to Dipper and your folks for me and keep me posted on if you and your brother are coming to stay for the break. Alright, love you, bye.”
Stan turned to you and Ford.
“So I was thinking of ordering pizza to celebrate. Would you be down?”
“I haven’t eaten since I went into labor so that sounds fantastic.” You said.
“Great! I’ll give you two lovebirds some alone time with her.” Stan said, giving Ford a wink for some reason and shutting the door behind him.
Ford turned to you, he had the same look on his face as he did in the hospital right before he told you he loved you.
“Everything okay, Ford?”
“Y/n, there’s… something important I’ve been meaning to ask you.”
“Yeah?”
He pulled a small black velvet box from his pocket, your heart thumped in your chest. He opened it, revealing an absolutely beautiful ring.
“Since the day you came into my life, you’ve fundamentally changed it for the better and I’ve loved you ever since. I promise to cherish you and stay by you and Juno until my last breath. If there is a life beyond this one I’ll wait for you on the other side. Y/n, will you marry me?”
You kissed him deeply.
“Yes, absolutely!”
He took your left hand and slipped the ring on your finger.
“Oh Ford, it’s gorgeous.”
“It was my mother’s. Many years ago she passed it on to Stanley, thinking he was me, and told him to give it to the love of his life when the time came. On the day you and I became an item, Stanley gave it to me, insisting I’d need it. He said I should do it for tax purposes.” He chuckled.
“Of course he did.” You laughed.
You admired how the stone caught the light.
“What are the odds that your mother and I had the same ring size?” You said.
“Well… about that. I may or may not have measured your ring finger in your sleep. I had the size adjusted, I wanted it to be perfect for you.”
You kissed him again.
“I’d expect no less from Stanford Pines.”
You rested your head on his shoulder and once again felt your eyelids grow heavy. Ford too felt the exhaustion of the near 40 hours of helping you bring Juno into the world. It wasn’t long before the two of you and little Juno fell asleep. Stan opened the bedroom door.
“Hey, guys, pizza’s he-“
He smiled at the sight of all three of you sleeping peacefully. He took out his phone and snapped a picture.
“Yeah, that’s a keeper. Mabel’s gonna love this.”

Joey B Blurbs: Yogurt
————————————————————————-
Summary: You leave Joe unattended for five minutes, and he thinks that your newly mixed homemade lotion is yogurt…
(Part One to - Part 2)
Warnings: Fluff
Pairing: Joe Burrow x reader
Imagine Universe: Into The Mystic
————————————————————————-
*30 weeks pregnant*
Joe and I were at the beginning of getting ready for date night.
It was a pretty chill day at the house so far, we all slept in, had breakfast, and spent the day chilling on the couch.
Joe even tried to teach the twins how to play Super Smash Bros, but I intervened and shut that down pretty quickly.
Now, Joe and I were upstairs in our bathroom getting ready.
I just ironed Joe’s clothes, which I also picked out, and sent him to the bedroom to change while I used the bathroom.
In all honesty, I wasn't using the bathroom, I was setting up a prank.
After posting a couple of my pranks that I've done on Joe on TikTok as a Christmas present to his fangirls, a couple of the other WAGs have sent me ideas to try on him.
Tianna, Cody Ford’s GF, sent me this idea where the girl leaves an unmarked jar of seemingly yogurt out on the counter with a spoon inside of it, her boyfriend thinks it is yogurt and eats it.
Joe has always been one to steal a bite of my food when I wasn't watching, so I knew he'd take the bait.
After I was finished setting up the prank, I called Joe into the bathroom to see his outfit.
“Watcha think?” - Joe
“You look amazing. It's screaming dilf.” - you
“Yeah?” - Joe smirked
He reached out and grazed his fingertips over my bare bump.
It was a date night tradition for me to put my outfit on last. It would be revealed to Joe as he stood at the door, and I walked down the stairs to him.
So for now, I'd wear my undergarments and a robe, or when I'm pregnant, I'd opt for one of Joe’s t-shirts.
“Wait I need to go put some juice pouches in the fridge for the boys’ dinner later.” - you
My phone was already set up discretely in our heated towel rack, so when I left the room I hit the record button on my Apple Watch.
I actually did go downstairs and put juice pouches in the fridge like I said I would and came back upstairs to hear any reaction from Joe.
Just as I am striding into the bathroom, I hear a gagging sound.
Joe was under the faucet, frantically rinsing his mouth out.
“What happened?!” - you
He leaned up and wiped his mouth off with the towel above the toilet, giving me a stank face as he pointed to the jar of lotion.
“Whatever that is, is fucking disgusting.” - Joe
There was so much sassiness behind his tone that I couldn't help but bust out laughing.
“Probably because it's lotion, Joe.” - you
“Lotion?! I thought it was yogurt. It literally has a spoon in it!” - Joe
“That's because I just mixed it up.” - you
That's a lie, I squeezed it out of a bottle into a jar.
“This is another prank, isn't it? Where's your phone at?!” - Joe
I pointed to the towel rack and Joe slowly rolled his head toward it.
When he saw it, his shoulders dropped defeatedly, and Joe let out a big sigh.
“I got you back.” - you singsonged
I poked him in the stomach repeatedly, and Joe didn't even move just shifted his eyes from the camera to me as he playfully glared.
“Bruh.” - Joe
Giggling as I hugged Joe against me, he patted my back dismissively. He was annoyed but wouldn't ignore my touch.
“You’re lucky I love you.” - Joe
“I know.” - you laughed
Joe ended up laughing with me before pressing a kiss on my forehead.
“Yay. More footage of me getting pranked my teammates are gonna shove in my face.” - Joe
“It’s okay, Joe, I'm sending their girls ideas to prank them too.” - you giggled
“That's my girl.” - Joe kissed your forehead again

I can't help it, I have to critique this.
Disclaimer: I'm about to rip this logo to shreds. If that's is going to offend you, don't read on. Especially don't read on and then get pissed off at me, because you will only have yourself to blame. 😅
I also want to start off by saying that this has absolutely nothing to do with who designed it (or didn't design it), or who it was designed for. I love GG and DD, but ultimately my reaction to this logo design has absolutely nothing to do with either of them.
I have to say it couldn't be more disappointed with this logo. I feel that it fails on every level. Here are a few of the reasons why:
It is devoid of any personality. I guess I've been spoiled by the cool panther logo that we have known and loved, but I would have preferred to see something with more street style to it. Something with more individuality - something connected to Yibo and his aesthetic. This doesn't scream 'Yibo' to me. It just looks very conservative, like something designed for a brand (which it was, I guess). That's not to say the illustration isn't well done, because it is, and it does do a decent job of bringing in some automobile elements into the snakehead design (the geometric scales, the flames under the eye), but no matter how well illustrated something is, it's not going to make a good logo just because it's pretty. Logo design is actually a complex process that requires a lot of skill and experience, and a solid background in communications and design. Being able to draw well is only a very small part of that skillset. In fact, there are some outstanding communication designers who can't draw very well at all.
It fails as a logo design. The number one thing any logo needs to do is communicate. This doesn't communicate anything at all. It doesn't even immediately read as a snake. In fact there's really very little snake-ish about it, and all of the coolest elements of a snake - its long winding body, its forked tongue, its glassy eyes - none of those features are incorporated here. It also doesn't read as an 85, it could be an 89. Terrible - a truly inexcusable error. For a racing logo, there's really nothing speedy or fast being communicated here at all. The snake looks like it's about to fall asleep. Even the kinetic energy that could have been communicated through the position of the snake's tail is wrong. The tail is pointing in the opposite direction it should be, and the snake does not look like it's moving forward, it looks like it's draped over the logo, exhausted, and like the entire snake is maybe 5" long.
The designer doesn't seem to have respected the spirit of the original design. They should have used that original design as a starting point and built upon it rather than go in their own direction and then paste what they did on top of the existing logo. As a result the overall look is disjointed and unharmonious. It just doesn't crackle with the exciting energy that comes from a well-designed, well-balanced, aesthetically strong logo design.
I really can't stand it. Yes, the snake itself is beautifully illustrated, and the illustrator is talented, but they have failed as a logo designer in this particular case.
I love the idea of the snake being incorporated into a racing logo, but everything that makes a snake cool, everything that makes a snake well aligned with a racing brand, everything that conveys speed and energy is just completely lacking here.
Just to give you an example of some more dynamic snake logos, here are a few just from Google image search (and I'll put the Evisu one here again so you can compare). I'm not saying that I love these designs, but they are much more energetic and dynamic than this logo:
And I find this one pretty inspiring simply because it gives me ideas about creating a snake with a tire tread underbelly, which would be so cool.
And if you look at the classic Ford Shelby logo, compare that with the Evisu one you can see how much more dynamic and unique and distinctive and exciting the snake is in this one, even though its position is more static and it's not as smoothly rendered. It has style.
There's a part of me that feels a little bit bad for ripping into Yibo's new logo, but I'm angry on his behalf, because I feel like he deserves a lot better than this.
And all the designer would have needed to do to make this a more exciting logo and one that communicates what it needs to communicate is to make the snake head a little bit smaller so it's not blocking the number 5, give it a more dynamic pose where its mouth is open and its fangs are showing and its tongue is sticking out, and expand its body so that its body is visible behind - or even winding around - the numbers, and where you can see the curls of its body, and its tail is facing in the correct direction to make the snake look like it's moving forward.
Edit: here's what I mean:
I still don't feel that the illustration style is compatible with the original logo design, but I could overlook it if it was actually making any effort at all at communicating a racing theme.
Just my two cents. It's possible I will warm up to it more when I see it on the car. Placement and context can make a big difference.
I think it's cool that Yibo wants to use that green bamboo snake for a logo, I just wish it had been better designed.
Edit: more on this here.

what are Ford and Stan love language? O: your analysis of them are really cool
I find it a little difficult to answer, just because everyone always displays some of them at different times, that said though, here are some of the essentials:
Stanford: Quality time/parallel play for definite, he likes even if he's working for someone to be with him l, you don't have to even be doing the same thing or talking that much he just likes being in your presence.
Words of affirmation is one he'll also do a lot to you, acts of service is one he likes, too, especially receiving. Infodumping/research type of acts of service: He'll ramble on about his latest research or hyperfixation and fix something of yours that's broken and upgrade it at the same time. You know how people say that phrase of 'loved to the point of invention'? That's Ford! Will research into solutions for any problems you have to try to help you.
Stanley: Acts of service/support swapping is his big one (remember that episode when he gets the kitchen light and how much stuff he sacrifices for the rest of the family?), need a new part to your car? He'll buy it and fix it. Need someone to take your shift? He'll make sure it'll be covered or if you're not working at the shack, will make the sick call himself. Had a hard day? The bath is already filled with hot water and bubbles when you get home. He'll love it if you do the same for him though, makes your partnership feel like a team and he'll feel less burnt out
Quality time is also one he shows a lot in the show, often something laid back like fishing or watching tv/movies with the family, but also doing more risky/active things like breaking into the golf course 😅 or hosting a party. The one he responds to the most is words of affirmation and the one he does for people he really loves is gift giving (but it's usually the smaller things so more like penguin pebbling).

Hii! How’s ur day?^_^
My request is, what if the reader is nervous to confess to Stanford, and Mabel helps them?
If ur able to do this thank you, and I love ur fanfics!
I decide to be a little mean here, whether it’ll be a misunderstanding on your part for Ford’s reaction or not, I’ll leave it up to fate. Hope you enjoy!
Part 2 right here
Mabel could tell immediately that you liked Ford but didn’t have the confidence to say anything to him in the slightest, and it disheartened the poor girl to see a potential romance that’ll never happen due to your fears of rejection.
So she decided that you needed the power of Mabel to gain the confidence to confess to Ford about how you truly felt because she knew deep down in her heart that Ford felt the same, he was just as awkward about as you were about his feelings.
(She may or may not have sneaked a peak inside his hours on his entry on you and felt as though she was reading a poem with how passionate he seemed to be about you, so much so it was enough to make her shed a tear)
‘But what if he meant all of that in a platonic way?’ You asked Mabel when she told you about the journal entry that she shouldn’t have read.
Mabel pouts and puts her bawled fists on her sides. ‘Is this the insecurities talking? You are amazing, fantastic, wonderful and a delight to have in someone’s life and Grunkle Ford would a stupid stupid head if he didn’t see the greatness you posses! Which he does and you should not let fear stand in the way of love!’ She exclaims as she dramatically posed, she really was Stanley’s grandniece that was for certain and undisputed.
‘Still, what would I even say to him?’ You asked as you sat down on the edge of your bed, holding your face in your hands. ‘I can’t just go up to him and say I like him, it’s too forward-‘
‘And totally not romantic nor memorable to tell your future descendants at all.’ Mabel adds which only made you flustered at the aspect that Mabel believed in your and Ford’s relationship that much, but Mabel always loved to look ahead to the future in an optimistic light, while taking great pride in having fun in the present with the people she cared about while she could before it was too late.
‘What if he finds me unbearable?’
‘Stop it with the what ifs!’ Mabel exclaimed as she walked over to you with a determined look in her eye, she had about enough of you looking down on yourself, and then using it as a scapegoat as to avoid confessing your burning feelings for her Grunkle Ford. ‘Ford likes you, I see it in his eyes when he looked at you, he looks at you as though you hung the stars in the sky! You take his breath away effortlessly and I see the way his cheeks get all pink when you compliment his turtleneck! What else could you probable want to be affirmed that he actually likes you!’
‘What’s going on in here, I could hear Mabel shouting from down the stairs, is everything okay?’ Ford asked when he opened the door to see you sat on the edge of your bed and Mabel looking as though her face couldn’t get any redder.
‘Yes every-‘ Mabel give you a pointed look and mouthed the words: tell him or I will.
You sighed and Ford only seems to grow more confused and worried about what he had walked in on by pure curiosity. ‘Y/n?’ He asked softly this time. ‘Is everything okay?’
‘I have something to tell you-‘ Mabel squeals ‘-alone.’ You finished all the while giving Mabel a pointed look as she pouted like a kicked puppy, she wanted to have a front row seat to the confession but she guessed outside the door would have to do for now as she shut the door behind her, leaving you and Ford alone like you wanted.
‘What’s wrong?’ Ford sat next to you, his beautiful eyes full of worry and concern as they flickered across your face as though he could see the things that were worrying you as though it was written across your forehead.
‘It’s nothing bad I promise it’s just that I…Ive been made aware of something that I fear might ruin our friendship.’ You said as you found yourself wanting to back away from actually confessing and leave it at that, but Mabel might as well have locked you both in the room for all you were aware until you actually did tell Ford that he tormented your heart in the best way possible.
‘I’m sure it won’t, there’s nothing that you could-‘
‘I really like you Ford, romantically.’ You blurted out as a silence befell the both of you that you swore you could hear a pin drop somewhere as you awaited the worst.
Ford looked at you for a prolonged period of time as though he was stuck in place and it only made your fears worsen when he had yet to say anything.
‘Ford? Say something please.’ You pleaded but what you weren’t expecting was for Ford to silently stand up and leave the room, closing the door behind him and soon enough you could hear your heart break as you heard him walk down the stairs, probably to go back to his lab for the rest of the day.
‘What happened.’ Mable asked as she walked back into the bedroom to see your broken state as you looked at her with a weak smile.
‘I lost him.’ You tell her before burrowing your head into your hands and for once Mabel didn’t know how to fix this…

Alright here's angsty Stanford headcanons because I need to cope
He really struggles to empathise with people, which is why he moved on so quickly from asking about Mabels emotions when he was "taking away" her closest friend for an apprenticeship. He can't comprehend people feeling, and he really struggles to empathise with them unless they remind him of himself.
He always needs to be the best, and he'll do any petty little thing to make sure he's better than the people around him. "Grammar, Stanley." He genuinely couldn't let himself give Stanley that win, he NEEDED to be better than him, no matter how petty it was. He saw an opportunity to correct Stanley, and didn't hesitate to take it. He didn't care how it affected Stanley, and he wouldn't understand his emotions anyway, but he just needed that little ego boost of "I'm still smarter than you" even after Stanley had finally gotten his win.
He'll just take constantly in relationships, he won't think of how it affects people. He'll use little manipulative tactics like "are you sure?" In a grateful tone to make people think he appreciates the gesture, but he really doesn't care. He doesn't recognise the value of gifts. "I love it when people give me gifts!" He says, but not for the emotional value of someone getting you a gift, but because he's a kleptomaniac that likes getting things.
Superiority complex!! He looks down on everyone, except Dipper. Because Dipper reminds him of himself when he was young, and because of that, he sees Dipper as a sort of equal.
He'll have ego crashes every now and then, where he's fully convinced he's just the worst. "[...] causing him to ride and endless see-saw between dizzying ego, and plummeting insecurity." Said Bill. So Ford will usually think of himself as better than most people, like, he really looks down on everyone, but there will be periods where he's just manically depressed and he hates everything about himself and views people as better than him.
He was genuinely confused when Dipper turned down his apprenticeship. 1, he views it as a tremendous honour to be able to work alongside such an intelligent man, and 2, he can't comprehend that Dipper turned down the opportunity to potentially go down in history. "Can you seriously tell me you don't feel you were destined for more than this?" That's both subtly trying to manipulate Dipper into saying yes, and also, him genuinely being confused about Dipper not feeling a need for greatness.
He's very quick to refuse blame for most things, and turn it around on other people. "I'm selfish, Stanley? How could you say that after costing me my dream school!!" He completely brushed off Stanley's points, and emotions, and turned the situation into one where he could be angry at something Stanley did, so that he was the "good" one in the situation.
He doesn't act honestly, like ever. He masks so much of his personality, and now it's not even intentional. He's just such a dick, and people used to point that out, that he's picked up subtle ways to manipulate people into believing he's nice, things to say, things to do, etc.
He constantly does favours for people and is such a handyman, but it's usually just because he likes it when people praise him, or, to make himself look better. Like when he made that new lightbulb, and Mabel said "Are you seeing this? This is what a hero looks like!" That's EXACTLY why he did that, not because he wanted to, he probably expected someone would buy new light bulbs. He just wanted the compliments. And, branching off of that, he noticed the light bulbs that Stanley was holding and immediately clocked where he had been, but he still said "So, where were you?" Less as a question, and much more as a taunt, because it boosted himself even more.
He apologises a lot when he doesn't mean it. He'll do something that made someone upset, and apologise, but he doesn't actually feel sorry at all, nor does he understand why they're upset. "I really am sorry, is there anything I can do?" And things of the sort, he doesn't mean it at all, but he's literally perfected his acting skills. He can act so so genuine.
One of the only times he ever genuinely felt sorry, was when he burned Stanley's back. Up until he was pushed through the portal, he viewed Stanley as someone he loved and respected. Not "on his level", not an equal to him, but it was his brother and he genuinely did love him. So when he kicked Stanley and scolded his back, that was one of the few times he's ever genuinely meant the words "I'm sorry".
(His apology in Wierdmagedon was NOT genuine he just wanted Stanley to join in because they needed him)
Acts like he knew things he didn't know when people tell him about it, and acts like it was an obvious fact, solely to put them down
Some sick part of him takes pride in his history with Bill. No matter how much he hates Bill, there will forever be a section of his ego that's proud of the fact that he was the one to be chosen by Bill. Bill is one of the most powerful gods in the universe, in the MULTIVERSE, and he chose Stanford. Ignoring his intentions, it was still Stanford that he needed. And Ford takes slight pride in knowing he was needed by such a powerful god
He uses manipulation tactics without even realising he is

So I saw this tweet earlier Abt the dynamic between Stanford and fiddleford during the partnership and how similar it was to Stanford and bill's dynamic (incoming essay)
AND I COMPLETELY AGREE
As much as I love fiddauthor (or just ford and fiddleford in general) , fiddleford doesn't deserve the type of treatment he got from Ford.
Throughout the entire partnership, ford treated him poorly and only ever cared about him if it was related to the portal. Fiddleford was willing to work with him even though he knew he was being treated poorly, not to mention he didn't know abt bill or his intentions yet (at the time) and still had his suspicions while working with ford. He remembered to give ford a gift (hand-knitted special gloves for him to wear with several failed attempts beforehand AND a snoglobe of the shack) yet forgot to get a gift for his own wife.
He does all this but the second he tells ford that the portal is dangerous and should be destroyed, ford gets angry at him and says he doesn't need him ???
That's not to say ford isn't completely a POS , he does enjoy fiddleford's company and his partnership with him. Ford even gets closure with fiddleford and actually apologizes to him for all the shit he did to him. Ford gets character development for the most part and actually becomes a somewhat decent person. He's terrible but that's what makes him a great character. He does horrible things but also acknowledges he did said things and actively tries to not do that, even if it's hard to avoid it.
(op said he's objectively an awful person for what he did but also loves him anyway because that type of writing is what makes his character compelling and honestly I relate)
It's a shame that ford favours results over sympathy/empathy. He only ever cares people when they are of use to him and when they say something he doesn't wanna hear,he throws them to the side and searches for another.
Another thing Abt ford is that he tends to be stubborn and an egoist. No matter the situation,he always puts himself before others. This can be a good thing sometimes (like when he gets electrocuted instead of just giving bill the equation) but it's always shown in a negative light. Stan dedicated almost his entire life to bring back his brother after several decades and he never even got a thank you or when instead of hearing Stan out on that invention he broke in highschool, he just let his brother get kicked out (Ik the twins are kinda crappy people but Stan breaking ford's perpetual motion machine was an accident damnit. It's been 30+ years and he still won't let it go 😭😭)
DESPITE SAYING ALLAT....ford isn't completely to blame for his behavior and how he treats other people around him to the point of being manipulative. Sure, his main flaws are what make him act this way (insecurity, need to be better than others, doesn't really think of others, etc.) but I think the only reason they've become worse is because of bill and how he manipulated ford, basically feeding into his ego and validating his beliefs. That, combined with his occasional selfish urges makes him want more.
More knowledge.
More praise.
More fame.
And this need for more makes him impatient. So much so that he starts using the same manipulation tactics (whether intentionally or unintentionally I'm not sure) bill used on him on fiddleford to try and get the same results, since said tactics work on him,so it would makes sense for him to do the same.
TL;DR yes, ford is a bad person but he's a bad person with layers and that's why I love him sm. Also fiddleford deserved better treatment
Anyway this'll probably get like 5 likes but uhhhh I'd love to hear any take on this really.
Agree, disagree I'd love it hear it
#gravity falls#stanford pines#fiddleford mcgucket#stanley pines#<--- but hes only mentioned in like one paragraph sorry#fiddauthor#<- kinda#in like an unhealthy unrequited love type of way#star talkies#god this was so fun#this was supposed to go out earlier but then i forgot for almost the entire day 😭#if this makes no sense or not organized enough im terribly sorry#I suck at making my point make sense :(#wanted to state more instances of fiddleford giving ford way too much attention but i can't remember them rn 😔#im cooked

GUYS CALL ME CRAZY BUT IM SORRY I FEEL LIKE STANDFORD “FORD” PINES IS PARTIALLY A VILLAN. i understand that he wanted to nurture dippers talent and genius but he forgets the kid is JIST TWELVE. dippers is a CHILD and this man is in his late 60’s.
He is to dipper what Dumbledore is to harry. to a lesser extent of course because i don’t feel like ford was inherently evil or “raising him for slaughter” but i do feel like he cared more about his research than he ever did about dipper or Mabel for that matter. he willingly pulls dipper into dangerous situations knowing that dipper looks up to him as an idol and will listen to pretty much anything he says. he also waters down dipper’s skepticism about moving to gravity falls to study with him by convincing him he was being suffocated with Mabel and she was unwelcome. which is NOT true dipper LOVES mabel with every peice of him and for ford to take advantage of his idolization in the eyes of a fucking 12 year old and convince him- even for a moment- that studying mosters with him was more important than his twin who has been by his side LITERALLY since they were born is so beyond fucked up. all that just so he can have someone to spread his genius onto. dipper had so much potential by going down the route but also the kid is young. he’s already been traumatized by that point and he needs to be a kid the best he can. and if we are going real deep into it mable never should’ve blamed herself for weirdmageddon because its more fords fault than hers. sure she made a stupid decision but she- like dipper- was only 12. by ford convincing dipper he doesn’t need Mabel he caused her to want to give them more time. even if dipper didn’t need her she still needed him. and dipper did need her he just told himself he didn’t because his idol told him he didn’t. ford had zero regard for people of corporeality and this is also evident in the fact that he made the deal with bill to begin with. he became so concerned with his studies and what could be created he went full evil genius mode and essentially made a deal with the devil because he had access to the mindscape. even after all of this goes down he tries dragging dipper down that same path.
im not saying ford was the villain but i am saying his character needs to be looked into more because he puts them in potentially fatal situations and only cares when they are at the edge of it ending. hes a good guy who cares about them but sometimes i just feel like he cares more about the unknown than them.
