silver spring | coriolanus snow
Description: Coriolanus Snow knows that he shouldn't have ended up this way. He knows that he was destined to be something better. The woman sleeping beside him is a testament of his reckoning, Lucy Gray is a ghost that he tries to forget. (Snow and Reader's marriage told through the cold beliefs of Coriolanus.)
Pairing: young-president!coriolanus snow/wife!reader
Warning: childbirth, major character death, angst, snow is haunted by lucy gray's memory.
"Time cast a spell on you But you won't forget me." - Fleetwood Mac.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[...] He was glad about the erasure. It was just another way to eliminate Lucy Gray from the world. The Capitol would forget her, the districts barely knew her, and District 12 had never accepted her as their own. In a few years, there would be a vague memory that a girl had once sung in the arena. And then that would be forgotten too. Goodbye Lucy Gray, we hardly knew you.
"Are you alright?" you cleared your throat seeing him in deep thought. There was always something mysterious inside the man that you married - he was always deep in thought. "You came to visit?" he seemed disinterested in what you had to say. "I-they told me that you didn't eat dinner yet," you managed to choke out.
He was very clear and precise. He told you that he couldn't stand you - that he hated you, and it was the very reason that you were wed.
An amused chuckle exits his mouth. "Aren't there more important things to have your attention?" he raised an eyebrow, staring at you up and down with that incredulous stare.
You seemed to amuse him - to some extent.
"- like running our household or gossiping with your friends." he mused, returning back to his paperwork. His statement made you feel awry, you were never the one to listen to gossip - the suggestion that you should do that only cemented the fact that he didn't know you - didn't bother enough to know you. "I was worried that you'd starve without dinner." you took another step forward.
He shakes his head.
"I will not die without dinner." he scoffed - dismissing you.
Tumblr media
It was late at night when Coriolanus stumbled inside your room. By then, he could hardly make out the outline of your body on the bed.
He couldn't believe that the woman he hated - had finally become his wife. "Coriolanus," you mumbled - eyes trying to adjust with the dim light. "Did I wake you?" he removed his jacket, surprised at his tone. "N-No," you stuttered. A meek prey against him.
You moved slightly, leaving him enough space to lay beside you.
Tumblr media
Coriolanus was surprised that you slept that quick - though, perhaps he was also thankful. He didn't want to create a reason for small talk. Your purpose in his life wasn't to be loved - it was to create children, and to strengthen his political prowess.
The moment he set his eyes on you - he vowed to never love or care for you. He couldn't afford to love again. He knows what love feels like - Lucy Gray manipulated him, both body and soul. Until now he doesn't know if she is truly dead. He wishes that she is.
He is snapped away from his thoughts again.
This time, you wrap your arms around him. His eyes widen in surprise, he opens his mouth to speak but he relents seeing your sleeping figure.
He may hate you, but it does not stop him from finding you beautiful.
Tumblr media
It was a few months later when he sees you again - this time with good news. "They tell me that our child is the size of a small ball." you smiled, reaching for his hand and placing it on your stomach. This was one of the few moments where he showed his love. You were sat on his lap, almost inhaling his scent at the proximity.
It was all for show, you thought. He had guests in the courtyard, and they could see you from the window.
"I've thought of names, but I wanted you to choose too." you continued, licking your pink lips. Oh, Coriolanus wanted nothing than to kiss those lips right now - but alas, his ambition ruled him. "What are they?" he continued rubbing your belly.
"Brutus, if it is a boy and Lucy-"
"No, not Lucy. Something else." he demanded, interrupting you. "Josephine," you quickly replace and he nods.
"- but if there are other names that you prefer, you may choose." you stared deep into his eyes. "You bleed, you decide." he whispered, his hands trailing up to your neck. "Kiss me," he suddenly demanded.
"What?" your eyebrows merged into each other.
"There's people watching, kiss me."
And you obeyed him.
Tumblr media
"As pure as the driven snow," you mumble while soothing the pain in your stomach. "What did you say?" Coriolanus raised an eyebrow. "Our child is as pure as the driven snow," you repeated - almost seeing his face in a dream. "Where did you come up with that?" he chuckled, slowly used to your company.
"You mumbled it in your sleep." you responded, continuing to write on your journal. "Well, I can't remember saying that anymore." he shrugged, feeling paranoia gnaw at his bones.
Lucy Gray, let me live.
"It sounds familiar, it's from that tribute - I watched her then, but its been so long I can't even remember." you chuckled, Lucy Gray Baird, the songbird from District 12.
You were enamored by her - intrigued by her voice. Your husband seems to be the same. "Is that why you wanted to name our child Lucy?" he questioned, her name tasted bitter on his tongue. "No, of course not - you'd never approve." you scoffed.
"Why wouldn't I? I don't know Lucy Gray personally." he lied once more, maintaining his narrative. "You told me that the Games were created to remind the Districts of what they are - animals." you remembered, not fully believing his speech. "You would hate me if I named our child after an ... well, someone that you hate."
"Good, and don't mention Lucy Gray ever again." his eyes narrowed.

you know other women?
Tumblr media
• pairing: theodore nott x reader
• now playing: my kind of woman by mac demarco / sad girl by lana del rey
• word count: 1.2k
• genre: smut (suggestive)
— not proofread again. i just wanted to write a short one because i haven't been in the mood to write anything and it feels shitty. also this is the last time i'm writing something like this, i just wanted to try it out. took the idea from this request!
Tumblr media
“You’re the most jealous woman I know!”
There was silence for a moment. Your thumb and pointer finger slipped under his chin and grasped it gently, making him look up at you from his seated position. Your stormy eyes were a bit darker than normal. His heart skipped a beat at the close proximity you were in now.
“You know other women?”
Theo didn’t utter a word, his silence speaking volumes, proven more by the tremble in his lower lip.
“Theodore.”
He pulls back from your touch. Eyes fixated on the intricate natural curves of the grains of the wooden floor. Tracing every line. Ignoring the pulsing beat that hammers against his chest. He does this for what internally felt like hours that they didn’t even look like lines anymore. It looked like something else, indecipherable.
“I am talking to you and if you don’t look at me for another second longer…” Your voice trails off in a terrifying tone that makes his head tilt up in less than a millisecond.
“Answer me.”
“Well…of course I know them, but that doesn’t mean I talk to them, you know?” The twitch in his speech is noticeable even by the breeze that passes through the open window. The unbothered, amused tone that he tried to emulate is useless as you remain standing there unimpressed.
Still, and locked in on him like he was a prey. Almost daring him to make another slip of the tongue.
His mouth hangs open while he flounders in his position, his brain wracking for anything to save him from whatever it is you seem to be planning in your mind.
“Y/N. Darling. You do know that, right? Just like how you’re the only woman that I even let near me?”
Compared to earlier, he finds a sense of confidence to look you directly in the eyes. When you make no move to recognise this, he takes it as a sign to continue.
“And I was only playing with you earlier. It didn’t mean anything other than a simple teasing to get you riled up. It was just in the heat of the moment.” He said tremulously. Well aware that he looked and sounded like a mess, spilling whatever his mind could conjure up.
Not a part of him could pinpoint exactly what it was you were thinking, but one thing he knew was that he wouldn’t be spared. But frankly? He couldn’t help but feel a sense of nervous excitement coursing through him.
A tiny voice inside his head inviting him to keep on with the constant rambling that surely worsened his sentence.
Deep in his thoughts as he tries to expel them, he doesn’t notice how you have come closer, now standing a mere arm’s length away from him.
“You are mine only. It’ll do you well to remember that.”
The only response his body allows him is a timid nod as you press your thumb on his lower lip, pulling it down. They make a path of tingles as it travels along the sharp features of his face drawing out a whimper from him.
His breath catches in his throat as your hands tighten around the velvety strands of his chocolate-brown hair, tugging it until he is forced to meet your gaze.
“Your touch, your gaze, they are mine. Only I will hear the way you pathetically beg.”
Nothing more is said as you lean down and, surprisingly, gently press your lips to his. The familiar pair that he has craved since it last touched his hours ago. He ignores the slightly cracked skin; dry from the screaming match you’ve been at for a while.
It was slow. Passionate. Desperate. It fueled a fire deep within the pit of his stomach, travelling downwards.
His hands are wild and rough as they grapple at whatever part of you they can touch; your hips being its choice. But despite this amusing attempt to regain control of the situation, he remains vulnerable to your touch.
When you pull away from him, unknowingly, he follows your movement, chasing after that addicting warmth. One that you generously gave as you moved to leave a path of open-mouthed kisses along his jaw.
You don’t pause in your actions as you move your legs to sit on either side of him, his hands mindlessly moving along your lower back to secure you in his lap. Something that sends tingles straight to your core.
His insides were burning him from the inside out, flames consuming him. Intensified as you move towards a sensitive spot, rendering him into a groaning mess under you.
“You wanted this didn’t you?” You taunt playfully, a sly smirk forming in the corner of your mouth. “Tried to provoke me to give you attention?”
To which he tries to deny with meaningless words as his body contradicts them. Thrusting upwards to meet your cruel torment. To feel a sliver of relief in his tightening trousers. His hands, which moved to your hips sometime between your teasing, helped guide you in the back-and-forth motion against his groin.
“Look at you.” You whisper against his ear, biting his earlobes lightly. Tracing your fingers along his chest, drawing lines and curves. “Can other women have you writhing like a deprived man also? I’d be so delighted to see if they can even come close.”
He stares at you as you draw back with wide, unblinking eyes, and a slackened jaw as heavy exhales pass through his ajar lips. “No.”
“I don’t care for them, I just want you, please.”
Forgetting all sense aside, leaving it for future him to figure out, his lips found yours again. Tongue delving to explore the hollow of your mouth, while his hands continue to move you just to feel that fire blooming in his core finally be released. It seemed that maybe you were gracious enough to let him do it, despite the obvious act of disobedience that you punished him for.
The moans that were like music to your ears were pathetic enough for you. Getting louder that he had to push his head against your chest to muffle the sounds that others outside must have heard already. You run your fingers through his hair, something that always pushed him off the brink of his high.
In his desperation, he never forgets about you and draws his dominant hand between your bodies straight towards your clothes core before you roughly grasp his wrist and toss it aside.
“No touching.” You warn. “But-“
“You don’t deserve to.” You curtly retort. It was pathetic, the way that his hand itched to disobey you but he knew that he was pushing the boundaries too far already.
“Just as you deserve this.” You declare, his eyes widen in bewilderment as the weight on his lap is lifted, leaving him with only the pitiful feeling of emptiness. “What-”
You remain silent, casually strolling towards the locked door, indifferent to his wide-eyed desperation and his fumbling hands that seem to forget what it’s supposed to do. The a slight tremor in his voice as he calls for you.
“See you at dinner.”
“You can’t just leave me here, love, please.” He says, a hint of desperation at the end.
“You don’t make the calls, Theo.” You say, unwavering, while he sits there helplessly. You weren’t going to give him a punishment that he would like, no.

The Disability Library
I love books, I love literature, and I love this blog, but it's only been recently that I've really been given the option to explore disabled literature, and I hate that. When I was a kid, all I wanted was to be able to read about characters like me, and now as an adult, all I want is to be able to read a book that takes us seriously.
And so, friends, Romans, countrymen, I present, a special disability and chronic illness booklist, compiled by myself and through the contributions of wonderful members from this site!
As always, if there are any at all that you want me to add, please just say. I'm always looking for more!

ROADTRIP PART 2
Walker Scobell X Reader | Series | You Belong With Me🔱 Part 4
When you drive in the first thing you see is Buffalo. You take a couple pics and post them.
Tumblr media
"Are you guys hungry?" Your mom asks
"YEESSSS!" everyone says in unison
"Alright look at the map and tell me what you wanna eat.
We decided on restaurant and drove there. Whe got a booth. I sat next to Walker and Leena sat next to me.
"I think I'm gonna have the fried chicken. What are you gonna have?" Walker asks me looking up from the menu at you
"Mac & Cheese" You said with a smile that Walker knew exactly what you were talking about
"Kraft Mac & Cheese if your parents don't buy it stop loving them" you recited
"Oh my God" Walker said rolling his eyes looking back down at his menu
Tumblr media
When you leave the restaurant everyone is full. You go to your cabin and flop on the couch.
"I might explode" You groan
"Me too" Walker says as he lays down on the floor next to you. Making it kinda look like a crime scene.
"Oh no Walker's stupidity kill them both!" Lenna walks in with a smile
"Not yet!" You reply slightly lifting your head and putting it back down.
"Hey!" He said fake offended
-
Later that night everyone goes to the cabins campfire (I don't know if that is a thing. But pretend it it).
Everyone was making smores around the fire.
"Where is Walker?" You ask
"Boo!" Walker silently came up behind you and yelled in your ear. You scream and turn to see Walker laughing
"Walker! You almost made me drop my smore!" You yelled as you hit his shoulder.
He sat down next to you and made his own smore.
"Let's tell scary stories!" Walker said excited
"Noooo! I don't wanna have nightmares!" You complain
"Don't be chicken!" He reply and starts the story not listening to you.
"Years ago, a pack of ravenous wolves roamed these very woods, their eyes glowing fiercely in the moonlight. They were led by a massive alpha, whose howl could be heard for miles around. One night, a group of campers, much like them, set up camp in the same spot. Little did they know that they were being watched by the pack of wolves, their hunger growing with each passing minute. As the campers slept, the wolves attacked, their sharp teeth tearing through flesh and bone. The screams of the campers echoed through the woods, a haunting reminder of the horrors that lurked beneath the trees. To this day, it is said that the wolves still roam the woods, searching for prey. And on nights when the moon is full, their howls can still be heard, sending a shiver down the spines of anyone who dares to venture into their territory."
You hear a wolf howl and your eyes widen. You get closer to Walker.
"Alright let's go inside" Leena said seeing you were scared.
You looked at her with "Thank you!" Eyes and she nodded and smiled
Everyone got up and went inside to get ready for bed. You finished and went and sat on your bed and watched TV.
Tumblr media
Your pajamas ⬆️
You were sharing a room with your sister and Leena. Walker across the hall.
Your sister was already asleep when Leena walked in.
"I thought you'd be asleep already." Leena said
"Not a hug fan on going to sleep right now." You said talking about the story
"Walker is annoying." she said
"Yeah" you nodded
"What are we watching?" she said hopping on your bed
"You don't have to stay up with me. I'll be fine." You said appreciating what she was trying to do
"You're my best friend and my stupid brother scared you. It is my duty to stay awake with you." She smiled
"What do you wanna watch?" You smiled
"Thor The Dark World!" She replied
You put it on with a smile and gave her the popcorn you had.
"Hey I know her!" Leena pointed to you on the screen
You both laughed
-
After about 2 hours you and Leena fell asleep.
You woke up in a sweat after dreaming about the wolves. You were scared. Leena said wake her up if she falls asleep and you have a nightmare. But you couldn't do that to her. There was someone who deserved being woken up. You got out of bed and Walker over to Walker's room. You knocked but there was no answer you slowly open the door and see Walker dead asleep.
"Walker!" You whisper yelled
Nothing
"Walker!" You said a little louder shaking him
"What?!" he groaned
"I had a nightmare" You pouted
"What about?" he asked still kinda out of it
"Your wolf story" you replied
"I'm sorry." He said actually compassionate "I didn't mean to scare you that much."
"Can I stay in here with you for a while?" You ask
"Yeah. Yeah. Of course." He said moving over
You laid down next to him and he hugged you. It was very comforting. He may be annoying sometimes but you knew he would protect you and would always be there if you needed him.
-
The next morning you woke up and saw it was 9 am.
"Walker" you said over your shoulder
"Hmm" He replied
"It's 9"
"So?"
"I'm hungry"
"Fine" He said letting go of you
You go to your room and change out of your pajamas.
Tumblr media
Your outfit ⬆️ (you can change these outfits if you want)
You went to the kitchen where everyone is eating breakfast. Your mom made everyone French toast. It was delicious. After breakfast we all got in the van. We went to see Old Faithful which was beautiful then we went to the gift shop.
Tumblr media
Do you like this?" Walker asked showing you a sweatshirt
Tumblr media
The sweater Walker showed you⬆️
"Oooo! I love it! Why?" You asked
"No reason" He said casually and walking away
You look around and buy a few things. We all went back to the thevan and sat in our seats.
"Here" Walker said handing you a bag
You open the bag and see the sweatshirt that he showed you earlier
"Oh my gosh! Walker you didn't have to do that!" You said smiling holding it up looking at it
"Yes I did! It's repayment for scaring you last night." He replied happy you liked it
"Thank you!!" You said hugging him
"Of course!" He replied
You put it on as everyone drove back to the cabin.
-
You were reading on the couch and Walker was on his phone when your mom walked in the room
"Kids come look outside! It's snowing!" Your mom said
You and Walker both raced to the window to see blankets if white covering everything
"Oh my gosh it's so pretty!" You said admiring it's beauty
"Race you outside! Walker said running to the door and putting on his jacket.
You ran after him and put on your jacket and boots as fast as you could
"Walker?" You said stepping outside not seeing him anywhere. Then a snowball hit you right in the face.
"Bullseye!" He laughed
You guys had a snowball fight for at least 29 minutes then went back inside. Soaked. Especially Walker.
"I won!" You said with a smile
"Yeah right. I won!" Walker rolled his eyes
"Right Walker. Whatever you have to tell yourself." You said putting your hand on his shoulder
"You know what you're right..." He said clearly up to something
"I think the winner should get a hug" He said as you started running
"No! I wet enough as it is" You ran as fast as you could for about 2 minutes but you knew he was going to catch you eventually.
"Fine! You won! Happy?" You said turning around with your hands up
"Very" He said with a smile
-
We were now driving back home.
"It's so pretty here" Walker said looking out the window. You took a picture of him and posted it.
Tumblr media
Then Taylor texted you
Tumblr media
"I'm invited to the Grammys!" You exclaimed
"That's awesome! Congratulations!" Walker said hugging you
"Omg! That's amazing! Congratulations y/n!" Leena said very happy for you
"Thank you! I'm so excited!" You said smiling
-
When you got home it was midnight so you invited Walker and Leena to spend the night.
"That's sounds amazing! I'm so tired." Lenna said so happy
Leena would sleep in your room and Walker in the guest room.
"So, I got an email from my fashion designer and she gave me a couple options for the Grammys. Which one do you think I should pick?" You asked showing her your phone
"I think...that one" she said pointing to the one on the left
Tumblr media
Your dress for the Grammys ⬆️
"That one it is!" You said emailing your fashion designer (Alexandria)
-
Couple days later
Tumblr media
You were so excited!

(WIP) Music Monday | Tagged by @socially-awkward-skeleton and @cloudofbutterflies92
The rules: Post a song that is relevant to your WIP or inspires it. I’m also including the lyrics.
Tumblr media
What you don't see is the line that we've been riding What you don't know won't kill ya but it's trying so hard And I've been feeling caught up I lost the god that's holdin' me down Took shape in the shade, my little wraith Really your call though isn't it, doll? If it's your verdict, who needs proof? I'm going down Tell me what you want, tell me what you need Tell me how I'm supposed to know when all you do is tease So I'll tell you what I want Cause I know what you see While I'm stuck here under you Go ahead and bury me
Tumblr media
There's one thing on my mind And that's the hunger I feel inside You will be mine It's in my nature to be cold And this wild thing ain't getting old I can stalk you in the dead of night I can hunt you by the purest light There's no escaping when you're in my sights 'Cause i'm a perfect killer by design I will eat you alive 'Cause i'm addicted to the prey
Tumblr media
Do you wanna put up a fight? Or do you wanna get out alive? Everybody is picking a side and this can only end one way Would you get the Devil this dance? Would you be a part of his plans? Now you got some blood on your hands Well, this can only end one way If you wanna go, this is how it goes If you wanna roll, heads are gonna roll If you wanna play, we can play all day But we play, play dirty, play dirty If you wanna live, gonna have to kill If you wanna win, blood is gonna spill If you wanna play, we can play all day But we play, play dirty, play dirty

Fionn
CC3 spoilers
in my wild hunt post I theorized that High King Fionn wasn't dead but was sleeping because Sarah loves to take inspo from the myths and in myths it says that he is sleeping in a cave.
According to the most popular account of Fionn's death, he is not dead at all, rather, he sleeps in a cave, surrounded by the Fianna. One day he will awake and defend Ireland in the hour of her greatest need. In one account, it is said that he will arise when the Dord Fiann, the hunting horn of the Fianna, is sounded three times, and he will be as strong and as well as he ever was.
and after hofas and what we learned about his "death" I went to find more. (that research paper about fionn's death)
we have different version's of his supposed death in myths.
This slight text unites three elements that recur, singly or in combination, in virtually all accounts of Finn's death; hence it could be argued that most versions of the death of Finn descend from the Aided Finn tradition. These are: 1.the leap (that is, Finn's death occurred when he failed to complete a jump across a stretch of water); 2.the Luigne (that is, the Luigne Temra were involved in Finn's death, often decapitating him); 3.the drink (that is, the act of drinking from an adarc or of drinking a poisoned drink caused or hastened Finn's death).92
when you take a look at the leap cause...it involves a fairy lover.
In these two accounts, although the depth of detail and the source length are different, the same narrative core is to be found: Finn trysts with the fairy lover of a character called Taoileachd mac Chuiligeadan. When Taoileachd discovers this, rather than having the two come to blows, the fairy lover makes a judgment that whoever best performs a leap will be the man she chooses. Both accomplish the forward leap and Taoileachd then challenges Finn to make the leap back. Taoileachd accomplishes the leap but Finn does not. Finn falls into the lake whereupon Taoileachd decapitates him.
Theia was Fionn's lover.
My mother and father, Fionn, had kept their love a secret through the years, knowing the Daglan would find it amusing to tear them apart if they learned of the affair. But they were able to meet in secret—and to plan their uprising.(hofas)
and there is that his age played a role in his death.
Finn's death either singly or in smaller groups, e.g. that his death occurred as a consequence of or was closely associated with a leap, that he was decapitated, that he died at a river or other body of water, and that his age played a role in the event.
Theia killed fionn bc she thought the right to rule was hers and fionn was getting old.
After centuries with an empty womb, my mother bore both my sister and me within a span of five years. My father was fading by then—he was centuries older than my mother. But Fionn did not consider my mother a worthy successor. The crown should go to the eldest child, he said—to my sister, Helena. It was time, he thought, for a new generation to lead. It did not sit well with my mother, or with many of those in her court— especially her general, Pelias. He agreed with my mother that Helena was too young to inherit our father’s throne. But my mother was still in her prime. Still ripe with power, and it was clear that she’d been blessed by the gods themselves, since she had been gifted children at long last.(hofas)
and his death by a body of water.
The image shifted to some sort of marsh—a bog. Fionn rode a horse between the islands of grass, bow at the ready as he ducked beneath trees in bloom. My parents often went hunting in the vast slice of land the Daglan had kept for their private game park, where they had crafted terrible monsters to serve as worthy prey. It was there that he met his death. A dark-haired, pale creature that could have been the relative of the nøkk in Jesiba’s gallery dragged a bound and gagged Fionn into the inky depths of the bog, the once-proud king screaming as he went under. Horror rooted Bryce to the spot. Theia and Pelias stood at the water’s edge, faces impassive. Petals began falling from the trees. Leaves with them. Birds took flight. As if sudden winter gripped the bog. As if the land had died with its king.(hofas)
so as you can see...it fits well with how fionn "died" in the myths to how it is described in the book. He died bc of a fairy lover, in a body of water.
now coming back to his "not being dead"
supposedly fionn is buried atop a mountain and there are stones.
'Shee-Mór and Shee-Beag' (D1) says that Finn is buried atop a mountain, this time Shee Beag in Co. Limerick, where a giant lived and in which giants throwing stones feature, while 'Old Irish Tales/Cavan1' (D19) informs us that Finn is supposedly buried under a stone on Ardkill Mountain, but because 'he is supposed to have been buried under so many stones that it is hard to say which he is buried under.'
I theorized in my wild hunt post that it could be Ramiel and that's why it was sacred to them. and I found this.
The location of the grave is sometimes combined with a feature of the landscape known as Suidhe Finn or Seefin, a placename for a hill or high ground in which hunting is usually good; such sites are readily associated with Finn, the fían, and their hunting exploits in literature and folklore.70 Association of elevated places called Suidhe Finn may have led to the association of further hills and mountains with the fían, as we see above with Murmod hill, or the stone features which were easily incorporated into giant lore may have been the original reason for such associations. Both could have easily played a role in these places becoming associated with Finn's grave.
hunting? blood rite? fianna the warriors of fionn in myths is also connected with a rite.
Scholars believe the fian was a rite of passage into manhood, and have linked fianna with similar young warrior bands in other early European cultures.
and this is blood rite?
“What’s the Blood Rite?” “What it sounds like.” He rubbed his neck. “When an Illyrian warrior comes into his full power, usually in his twenties, he has to go through the Blood Rite before he can qualify as a full warrior and adult. Would-be warriors from every clan and village get sent in, usually three or four from each—all of them scattered across an area in the Illyrian Mountains. We’re left there for a week with two goals: survival, and making it to Ramiel.”(acosf)
so....is Fionn really buried under Ramiel?

Dennis Reynolds: A psychological analysis
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dennis exhibits the textbook behavior of someone with Anxious-Avoidant Attachment Style. Throughout the show Dennis has been shown to like shallow attention for his appearance.
Tumblr media
But when someone shows genuine interest in him, he starts to become repulsed and distant. I believe that's why Dennis became especially mean towards Mac during the later seasons. Mac being gay was fine for Dennis when he could milk it for shallow validation, but when it became apparent that Mac was genuinely interested in him, Dennis started to push him away. In season 14, when Mac's interest in him reached a high point of obsession and clingyness, Dennis in response, became downright abusive. The harder Mac shows an interest in him, the stronger Dennis tries to push him away. And it's not just Mac, his Dennis System also shows the same behavior.
D: Demonstrate value
E: Engage physically
N: Nurture independence
N: Neglect emotionally
S: separate entirely
The first 3 steps allow him to gain shallow types of validation, and the last 2 steps allow him to keep an emotional distance. Some other negative traits Dennis has shown to have include, being emotionally manipulative, controlling, insulting.
Why is Dennis the way he is?
Dennis and Dee were raised by a cold, and emotionally neglective Mom, who cared about keeping up shallow appearances and not much else. Dee on multiple occasions has referenced how much her mom would criticize her appearance and put her down, and also mentioned that out of the two siblings, she was considered the worst. Dennis doesn't reference his mom the way Dee does, which implies that Dennis was somewhat favored by his mom, but it still didn't spare him from the critism.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: Dennis doesn't believe he's worthy of love, which is why he rejects it. His mother made him feel like he was never good enough and had to be perfect to receive it, which is why he's obsessed with his appearance & fears aging. Dennis has no healthy self confidence. His shallow view of his own worth reflects how his own mom viewed him and his sister as objects more than kids.
Dennis' sexual trauma added to these issues. Being taken advantage of by an adult he probably trusted, left him with more trust issues and a fear of emotional vulnerability. It explains his now constant need to feel in control. It's why he only goes after younger women, keeps psychological files on all his friends, is the self appointed group leader, engages in behavior where he comes off as a predator hunting prey, and why he uses the Dennis System. If he's calling the shots at all times, he can avoid being hurt.

your oc with the green hair and eyepatch looks so cool who are they
wah! lil mans Mac!!
He was originally my Jojosona and technically still is as a lot of his personality and style and backstory takes some inspo from my own self. But in a lot of ways has taken on being his own character and somewhat of an oc in my jojo fan part :)
and he's a fakey eyepatch wearer, its just his wrestling uniform lol. Everyone has their own mask they wear in the ring.
Tumblr media
My big silly stupid wrestler man who falls prey to pretty woman who are mean to him, and tends to let himself get used and do bad things but really does have a good heart. Just easily led astray lol
He plays a very neutral role in his story as neither a hero or full on antagonist. He's has alliances with both the main villian as the protags

A Thing Of Vikings Chapter 79: On The Threshold
Tumblr media
Chapter 79: On The Threshold
One of the great paradoxes that comes from the study of history is that historians are forced to simultaneously speak in both concrete and abstract terms.  We say 'the society decided to change' at the same time as we speak of the leaders making specific decisions.  But the society did not decide to change.  The Hooligans of Berk, for example, did not, as some abstract whole, decide to adopt dragons and grow to become the core of a new sovereign nation over the next five years.  Nor did then-Chief Stoick's decision to allow for the adoption of dragons force this decision.  No.  Individuals within that society decided to change, in how they acted or how they viewed the world, while others did not.  And yet we are forced to speak in the aggregate, the cumulative, taking the broad trend of the social unit and applying it to all members inside.  We can recognize the individual dissenters when their dissent from the mean is sufficient to stand out, and yet this very recognition paints a degree of uniformity on the rest that is both unrealistic and unearned.
Furthermore, referring to the aggregate of the society in the abstract creates a false impression of their numbers, simply due to the common fallacies of equivocation and false equivalence (i.e. we call them the same thing, ergo we see them as being roughly the same).  We project ourselves and our own modern expectations and experiences with current political entities onto the past, despite those historical units being vastly smaller, simpler, and less developed).  We speak of the Byzantine Empire and the North Sea Empire as two simple units.  Due to the difficulties that many have with comprehending large numbers and larger scales, the typical comprehension of the concept of "Empire" lends itself to a false equivalence, that one Empire is much like another Empire in size, population, economy, culture and so forth, but that mental abstraction again does a disservice in scale.  To illustrate, consider that, in AD 1040, there were more people occupying Constantinople and the Thracian farmland immediately outside the city's famous walls than there were in all of the island of Eire in that same year.  Meanwhile, Sweden, Norway and Denmark together had less than a million people combined, while the city of Baghdad alone had over a million people sheltering behind its walls.  And again, in making such comparisons, we fall prey to the lure of the abstract, of referencing the masses of otherwise anonymous people as conglomerate wholes.
But at the same time, such abstraction is necessary; we do not have the data to be able to conclusively say that, out of the approximately 300,000 Albans who lived under King Mac Bethad's rule, 68,821 agreed with his stated desire for continued independence from Berk's influence, while another 121,749 would have been happier if he had made overtures of integration prior to his fatal duel with Astrid clan Haddock.  Such precision is not available to us and we are thus forced to speak in the abstract and the aggregate, erasing the heterogeneous beliefs and attitudes of entire generations—save those individuals who had the foresight to record their thoughts, or the impact that inspired others to record them.
