in TT is it possible to have more the one path ?
or at least like gain two lvls in each path ?
There will be four level up opportunities in the game (though the last one not all players will see and it has no tests associated with it, it's just for checking off achievements).
Possible power combinations include:
The Jack of All Trades
Path of the Master: 🦇 Path of the Beast: 🦇 Path of the Shadow: 🦇
The Nosferatu
Path of the Master: Path of the Beast: Path of the Shadow: 🦇🦇🦇
The Wannabe Werewolf
Path of the Master: Path of the Beast: 🦇🦇🦇 Path of the Shadow:
Hypnotist Harry
Path of the Master: 🦇🦇🦇 Path of the Beast: Path of the Shadow:
The Cheek Splitter
Path of the Master: 🦇🦇 Path of the Beast: 🦇 Path of the Shadow:
The person who read the code and knows exactly how to get every level up opportunity...
Path of the Master: 🦇🦇 Path of the Beast: 🦇🦇 Path of the Shadow:
...and the person who didn't.
Path of the Master: 🦇 Path of the Beast: Path of the Shadow: 🦇

I wanted to ask, being someone who has been following the blog since the beginning of December (after the release of TTM Pt. 4 and before the release of Sunset Heavenly War) and I have an excellent memory, MK in TTM pt. 3 said that he was 350 years old and then changed to 400 years old, with this change also the ages of Mei (400 -> 450) and Red Son (500 -> 550) have increased. My question in fact why this increase of 50 years? 🤔🤔🤔
(I admit that I had noticed it slightly with the modification of the masterpost, then I accidentally reviewed TTM pt. 3 and I noticed the changes in age there too 🫠🫠)
Basically I've been changing the timeline for a bit after I finished the Heavenly War arc since I noticed that some things didn't fit right
I think I've sorta mentioned this before, but I write the story as I go, like literally as I'm drafting chapters, so a lot of time there might be inconsistencies between chapters, there's stuff that I've been meaning to go back and update, one of those was their ages which funnily enough I was gonna update this week after the last chapter
This change was going to happen along with a year graph for how to count long lived demons/celestial years, which after I finalized it I finally settled with the timeline in the masterpost
Some changes were for lore others are just cause I was like why not, but yeah there's gonna be some things that don't match up in the future and it's either intentional or I just forgot to check back so oopsies😁

"Uh- I'm Arnold. Bennett. It's profoundly difficult to get your lifes works and studies accepted if your name isn't... yes, oh! Are you a fan of moths, sir?"
NEW RDR2 OC!! a reclusive, clumsy entomologist and bug collector; cooped up in his study of uniformed clutter
#i drew him on such a tiny file 😭😭DIDNT THINK ABT IT im so used to drawing less detailed big headed trolls BWHAHA#I'm still figuring out where he's from and his lore!#he's definitely from south asia... I'm leaning towards him originally being from Sri Lanka#which I BELIEVE was called Ceylon at the time under british rule#im looking forward to spending some time on researching this further before coming to any conclusions. for now his backstory isss vague#and practically nonexistant#he now lives in Saint Denis! if he was in game his study would be accessible#likely through a greenhouse similar to Algernon's encounters yknow!!#some stained glass windowss lots of lamps and dark academia inspo... also agitha twilight princess inspired#he's very socially awkward and clumsy#used to being a recluse and submitting his findings and works semi-anonymously through his name but without a face#so when he encounters arthur or john OR the player if in online he's VERY surprised and even clumsier#but extremely enthusiastic to share his passions#LISTEN I'm playing rdr2 for hours almost every day but I can't tell if insects are studyable#IF it was a feature THIS MAN!!! would be the one to send you on missions related to it ESPECIALLY online#ANYWAY!!!! these r things that have instantly come to mind for him!! I hope I can develop him a little more with time and research#red dead redemption 2#red dead redemption#rdr2#rdr#OC#original character#protagonist ocs#I NEVER POST MY OCS ON HERE i need 2 start posting them again#OH AND OBVIOUSLY he changed his name at least professionally... idk if it was legally or he just went around signing off as a different nam#unless someone asks for his original name he probably won't give it#i need 2 adjust his sideburns because theyr meant to be all white with some line definition but i forgot abt it 💀

Have you, or some of your colleagues, ever worked on a game you didn't particularly like? Not like "the creative team is wrong and I hate it", but more like your taste didn't align with the director's, or the game wasn't something you'd care to play. If so, how do you cope with that, given that projects can last for several years, often with intense working conditions?
Thanks for the blog!! It's always a great read.
My very first job in the game industry was working on a game in a genre I had little personal interest in, programming parts of the game I never had any particular interest in. I was quite far away from the kind of games I grew up playing or dreamed of making, but I did my best anyway because I knew that it was the best opportunity I had to get to where I wanted to be. Since then, I've worked on projects that I thought were great until they got cancelled, projects where I didn't see eye to eye with the creative leadership, and all sorts of other projects besides.
Tumblr media
Even if the big picture game isn't in my particular wheelhouse, that doesn't mean I can't do my best to solve the problems I'm tasked with. I enjoy coming up with creative and engaging ways to grab the attention of the target players. Even if the game isn't to my taste, the problems I solve are still interesting and the solutions I deliver can still be clever, elegant, and robust. I can still do work that I can be proud of. This is what it means to be professional - I'll always deliver high quality work at a shippable level, even if I don't personally enjoy the game I am making.
Tumblr media
Taking a step further back beyond the personal circle, I've also learned that the project itself doesn't mean much if I'm not working with people I can enjoy collaborating with, no matter what dream IP or concept it might be. What really matters are the people I work with, not the project itself. If I work with great people, the project will be great. If there's no team cohesion or camaraderie, the project can't be great. I remember going from a team with little cohesion and noncommittal leadership (leading to terrible morale) to a team with stronger leadership and cohesion. I know that my morale palpably improved after transitioning off of the first team and onto the second.
Tumblr media
That's really the long and the short of it - on a personal level, I get more job satisfaction when I'm solving interesting problems and challenging myself to level up as a designer, engineer, and developer. On a project level, my morale is higher when I'm working with people I feel I can trust to do their jobs and that we can all work towards well-defined common goals. The particular game idea, story, genre, etc. tends to take a back seat to both my role and my team. Without a good role and team, I'll be miserable and even the most interesting game idea or IP in the world wouldn't be enough to keep me from looking to jump ship.

I spent my weekend playing roblox animal rp games to relive my childhood and ik how to script so im tempted to make my own but the problem is idk how to do 3d models or use blender, also im too poor to hire anyone unless they want to do work for free (which is highly unlikely), my friends don't even have access to roblox studio or know how to model so ermmm 😞😞😞😞

The funniest/most annoying thing about Destiny sweats bithcing about the game needing to be harder and that they shouldn't be forced to do self imposed challenges is:
Like literally no other gaming community is.like this. Self imposesd difficulty challenges is a tried & true & beloved asoect of many game communities.
From Pokemons Nuzlocke challenge, so many WoE, Runescape, and other MMOs, even notoriously hard games like FromSoftware projects to Cuphead and Celeste like
Those communities not only love self imposed difficulty but the ones that achieve it and master it are celebrated!
Like I'd be more impressed with Streamers choosing a stupid loadout and taking on a Raid and winning then some Career gamer having the most optimal load out
Yeah, literally. Same.
At the end of the day, no matter how much they want to deny it, these people just want to keep their place on the top and to retain their prestige and power. They want things nerfed because they have infinite time, professional gaming rigs and their pro buddies and it doesn't affect them. They don't want an even playing field and they don't want anyone else to have fun or get achievements. They mald over more people getting an emblem. Who give a shit. Grow up.
To me, Day 1 races are just completely off-putting to watch at this point. They all just mute streams, blur half of their screens and there's literally no content. To me, these events should be us watching the best players mess around, trying to figure out how to solve puzzles and entertain us while they go through content that's too hard for most other players. lt should be a light-hearted contest that's fun to watch. But no. Now it's just sweats basically streaming nothing while they read datamined guides and run full god roll meta loadouts that they later complain about making things easy.
Bro. That same loadout doesn't make the game easy for 99% of us. I'm glad you can do solo flawless Ghosts of the Deep in 40 minutes with bonk Titan, I can't. It took me three days and 60 deaths per run and a 3 hour run to just do the solo. I copied the "god roll" loadout. It didn't make shit easy. It doesn't need to be nerfed. And if that's easy to you, do it with a different loudout. It being "easy" literally only affects 50 people.
These guys would never survive playing any other game tbh. I guess Bungie should just give them difficulty options, but no special rewards for them, that would defeat the purpose. If you put a beautiful shader or adept weapon behind the hardest difficulty option, then people will want it and it will be deliberately gatekept and the gap between the pros and the rest of us will just widen. If you truly just care about the gameplay experience and experiencing super hard content, then simply experiencing that content is your reward. I've ran GMs for fun for zero rewards before because I just enjoy the challenge. I ran duo GMs for fun only. I've re-run master raids to help others despite there being nothing in it for me. Literally it's so easy to not be a babyman gamer bro. You guys play games for a living, you scored a jackpot, take your privilege and shut up.

People who are impatient with artists for taking a long time to create should push themselves to make something they deem of a similar caliber of what they're expecting. Especially people who aren't creatives.
