Here's what's going on in Ohio right now. Heavy stuff ahead.
First, I want to apologize for the misinformation in my original post. I am still learning about legislative processes. To correct: the changes to ODH and OMHAS in regards to gender therapy are not a bill, they are changes in regulations.
This is important because citizens CAN affect rule changes. There is an open commentary period where your submissions get counted and can affect how they write new regulations.
Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, legal advocate, or medical professional. I'm just a dude who had to have it all explained to me.
The first one is Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services. The rules proposed would make the already prohibitive process of gender transition even harder. In order to diagnose and treat gender dysphoria, a hospital needs to have a board certified psychologist per patient, a board certified endocrinologist familiar with the age group being diagnosed per patient, and a medical ethicist overseeing the hospital's plan for transition. 'Board certified' does not guarantee that the specialist is trans-friendly. It must include a detransition plan. Hospitals would have to report compliance annually. The professionals must have a contractual relationship with the patient, but do not need to offer in-person care. (In this instance, I'll get to that in the next rule change.)
This rule also deems it impermissible to prescribe gender transition care (this includes hormones, puberty blockers, or drugs) for anyone under the age of 21 without the approval of the professionals mentioned and 6 months of therapy.
There is an exception for intersex people, who may have their sex assigned to them without their consent.
The open comment period for this ends January 19 at 5pm.
Send an email to [email protected] with the subject title: "Comments on Gender Transition Care Rules."
The second one is Ohio Department of Health and it repeats a lot of the same as the first one. However, the focus is more on the regulation of doctors and paperwork. Anyone seeking transition will be put into a registry with their name redacted, but demographics like age, agab, specific diagnosis (difficult to achieve with the new regulations mentioned above), and any medications (not just related to gender transition, but any medications at all). Any cessation of care must be reported within 30 days.
This is a lot of paperwork and can overburden hospitals.
That 30 days cessation is important because if a person transfers doctors or if a clinic closes and the paperwork isn't filed, it may count as a 'detransition' when tallying demographics, even if that is not the case.
But what's curious is that the ODH regulations DO require in-person care. The rules are contradictory and vague.
The comment period for this ends Feb 5th.
Send a comment through the ODH website
Here are some important things that were mentioned at the meeting:
This is a good time to be personal with your statements. If this would disrupt your life in any way, please say so. "I fear that" "I believe this" "I worry that"- these are great ways to start your comment. An example one person gave is "I worry that this change in regulations would force me and my daughter to move out of state.'
With that being said, anything that you send to these sites will be public record, so be cautious about what you reveal about yourself in your comment.
If you are in need of help, please reach out to one of these resources:
Trans Ohio Emergency Fund Resource Page
Kaleidoscope Youth Center
If you are in need of legal advice on how to navigate all this, please call
888-LGBT-LAW
This is not everything. There is unfortunately more because Ohio decided to break a record this month with anti-trans motions. But today I'm focusing on things that we can take action on.

as an attempt to make soldier more relatable to the public asgz has to work fast food how does it go
Sephiroth: Assigned to the register. A mistake. At first the customers are thrilled. The great Sephiroth, taking their orders? Incredible! A once-in-a-lifetime experience! That excitement dies the second they step up to the counter.
"What do you want."
No inflection. No warmth. No attempt at customer service. Just a flat, dead stare from eyes that see into the depths of their soul and find them lacking. A man nervously orders a combo meal. Sephiroth enters it at a speed just slow enough to be passive-aggressive.
"Your total is 8.99."
The man tries to hand him a 10 gil bill. Sephiroth stares at it. He does not move to take it. The man slowly realizes the register is card-only. The line behind him shifts impatiently. He scrambles for his wallet. Sephiroth stares harder. The pressure is unbearable. He leaves without his meal.
Sephiroth quits after two shifts. He does not formally resign. He simply leaves his apron on the counter and walks out the door. No one tries to stop him.
Genesis: Has somehow faked a medical exemption within five minutes of arrival. "I can't be expected to perform in such an environment. My hands, Angeal! Do you know what fryer grease does to the skin? These are hands meant to hold a sword! Write poetry! Not fry greasy potatoes and clean counters!"
Spends his shift lounging in the break room, reading magazines and eating fries he did not pay for.
Angeal: Actually tries. Works the grill, flips burgers, and thanks every customer with smile. "Hard work is good for the soul," he says. The manager loves him. The customers adore him.
Zack: Enthusiastically takes every position. Registers, drive-thru, cleaning tables, even voluntarily works the night shift because "I just love working with people!" Wins Employee of the Month within the first week. The managers ask him to consider staying on full-time. He does not realize this is not a compliment to SOLDIER.
Cloud: Put on fries. The oil splashes. The orders stack up. The beeping is constant. Someone is yelling that they've been waiting ten minutes for their food. Another person is asking for a custom order that is not on the menu. His hands are trembling as he dumps another batch into the fryer. He's had enough. He leaves mid-shift wielding a spatula as a weapon because Zack is on his ass trying to get him to come back.

Something that worries me about schooling in relation to ChatGPT is the ratcheting effect it will have on work load and assignment design.
When I was in high-school, I didn’t cheat, but found out later my peers had been using some apps and websites (among other things) to effectively cheat on tests and assignments. The teachers had an inkling that such cheating was going on, and their solution was to make the assignments much more difficult than before to overcompensate for the perceived cheating. My grades didn’t suffer, but only because I ended up putting in way more time than normal for those assignments.
I’m sure other students simply suffered grade losses or got intel from other students on how to effectively cheat. But none of the students who used web clients to write papers or plagiarized answers really saw their grades suffer (other than not being able to answer easy content questions during class and looking stupid).
A more concrete example could also be the relationship between AI being used to write papers vs AI being used to check for cheating.
I was in school before ChatGPT was a thing, but I was still forced by the school to put my papers through plagiarism checkers.
There is no doubt in my mind that my school signed away the rights to my writing content to be used in the large language models that would become iterations of ChatGPT. And I would say the process is still ongoing, that whenever you submit a paper to be checked for plagiarism, no matter the service, that it is being used to train a large language model somewhere.
Which begs many questions and shows many problems, a significant one being, once a large language model is able to perfectly imitate my writing style, would I ever be able to escape the charges of plagiarism or honor code type violations involved using ChatGPT? If the plagiarism checkers feed the chatbots, and I feed the plagiarism checker, shouldn’t I be able to escape some culpability if my writing style matches to some degree? Where does that point lie, and can it even be measured?
All of this is also contingent on an even bigger question and that is “Can your average public school teacher even tell what good writing looks like anymore?”
I don’t really know the answers to any of these questions, but I can say that it seems like ChatGPT creates a lot more problems than it solves for an educational environment.

Clarence Eugene Page (June 2, 1947) is a newspaper columnist, essayist, and political analyst. His syndicated column which specializes in urban issues appears in numerous newspapers across the US.
He was born in Dayton to Clarence H. and Maggie (Williams) Page. His mother owned a catering service and his father was a factory worker. He started reporting for his high school newspaper as a junior and found it to be a perfect match—perhaps, he says, because of ADD; news writing was short, and deadlines helped him stay on track. After his senior year, he took a summer job in a steel mill and made time to freelance. He sold stories and photographs to two Ohio newspapers as a 17-year-old graduate.
He earned a BA in journalism from Ohio University and started reporting for the Chicago Tribune. He was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. He was assigned to public relations duty at Fort Lewis and in Germany.
Returning to the Tribune, he was assigned to cover police, courts, religion, and neighborhoods. He occasionally freelanced as a rock critic. He reported on riots in Soweto, South Africa, and the civil war in Rhodesia as a foreign correspondent in 1976. He returned to the Chicago Tribune with a promotion to assistant city editor.
He directed the community affairs department at a CBS television station. His coverage of the Harold Washington mayoral campaign raised his profile, as he was called on to file stories for CBS’ national network and to appear as an analyst on talk shows. The Tribune offered him a position on its editorial board. He was syndicated. He moved to the DC area, where he continued to write for a national audience.
His accolades include several honorary doctorates and two Pulitzers: a shared prize in 1972 for a series on vote fraud, and a sole prize in 1989 for commentary. His collection of essays titled Showing My Color: Impolite Essays on Race and Identity, was published in 1996. He is married to Lisa Page and they have a son. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

The Origins Of Horoscopes 🔮
as an astrologer who has been mesmerized by the cosmos for 10 years, i have come to have an honest disagreeance for horoscopes. although those whimsical columns are what naturally gravitated me to the world of astrology, it is a shame that horoscopes are what seems to come to the average person's mind when they think of the zodiac. it is our personal belief that the fantastical nature of horoscopes overshadow the beauty of astrology. but this made us wonder.... where did horoscopes come from? continue on to learn about, the origins of horoscopes.
Tumblr media
Ancient Times
🔮 The Silk Roads: The earliest evidence of horoscopes date back to the 3rd millennium BCE in Mesopotamia.
🔮 Astrology was adopted on the trading routes of The Silk Roads during the Tang Dynasty (705-907 CE).
🔮 Along these trading routes, traders would sell horoscopes as a service to different regions such as Central Asia, the Iranian Plateau, & China.
🔮 China became very fond of horoscopes during this time & adopted them into the framework of Chinese astrology today.
🔮 Chinese horoscopes at this time were derived from the Hellenistic Period of Ancient Greece.
🔮 During this time, it became Chinese tradition that newborn Chinese babies would be given a horoscope upon birth & then throughout pivotal moments in their lives.
🔮 One of the most important astrologers of this time, Abu Ma'shar (8/10/787- 3/9/886), wrote a book called “Book Of Thousands”.
🔮 “Book Of Thousands” (written in 850)
🔮 The book did not survive to today. Remaining fragments show us that the book was a chronology of world history (from Christian, Persian, & Islamic sources) that intended to connect past, present, & future events to the stars. 🔮 The remaining fragments of the book were collected by David Pingree in 1968 & can be found on select scholarly sources online today.
🔮 Astrology became very popular in Medieval Central Asia.
🔮 It was during this time that two types of astrology formed; mathematically-based astrology (what we astrologers go by) & the magical form of astrology (AKA: horoscopes).
The 20th & 21st Century
🔮 Prominent British astrologer, R.H. Naylor (6/9/1889- 1952), was hired by the Sunday Express (a London-based newspaper) to write a horoscope article.
🔮 Naylor was an assistant to the leading British astrologer of the time called Cheiro. 🔮 Cheiro was sought out by many celebrities of the time for his brilliant astrology services to read their natal charts. He was known to have read the palms of such significant figures such as Mark Twain, Grover Cleveland, & Winston Churchill.
🔮 The article was about the birth of Princess Margaret, born August 21, 1930. (a leo beauty)
🔮 The newspaper decided to run a few more articles. In one of the next articles, Naylor predicted that “a British aircraft will be in danger” between October 8th and 15th. On October 5th, British airship R101 crashed outside Paris with 48 of the 54 on board the plane passing away.
🔮 The population became amazed with the incredible prediction Naylor made. The editor then offered Naylor a weekly column & “What The Stars Foretell”, the first ever horoscope column in human history, was born.
🔮 "What The Stars Foretell”
🔮 The column started as advice for people whose birthday fell on each specific week the newspaper article was published. 🔮 By 1937, the article became more grandiose & spoke of “star signs” to relate to a wider audience. 🔮 This was the creation of the term “star signs”.
🔮 From there on, the world caught on to the eye-catching spells of horoscopes & publications from all over the world began to replicate what Naylor created. This is why historically, horoscopes are written by writers assigned to the task of creating a spellbinding horoscope piece & not astrologers.
Well folks, there you have it. Although the roots of horoscopes share soil with the beautiful creation of astrology, they became more of an object of purchase than the art that astrology truly is. I do believe if horoscopes were intended on sharing truth & not appealing to the masses as a means to sell a product, they would hold value to humanity. But in all honesty, if horoscopes remain to just be a tool to spellbind their readers & curate them into consumers, then they hold no good intention to the art of astrology we are so passionate about.
Thank you so much for reading! I appreciate our lil astrology community so much & hope you learned something from this lil trip down astrology lane. 😊

Field Notes: NOAA Corps & MIDCON-RED
Tumblr media
The smallest uniformed service in the United States, the NOAA Corps was created in 1970 as a direct successor to the Environmental Science Services Administration Corps and the Geodetic Survey Corps. The NOAA Corps legacy and relation to MIDCON-RED remains contentious, due to the lasting consequences of the Nixon administration and an interagency battle that still rages today. Originally the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration seemed a natural sister-organization under the Department of the Interior, with MIDCON eager to utilize it as an intermediary when working with the Department of Defense. White House staff and the Office of Management and Budget, ignorant of MIDCON's hidden objectives, were heavily in favor of merging it with the Department of the Interior to ensure NOAA's nominal mission of resource conservation remained intact without increasing the scope of the at-the-time-nascent Environmental Protection Agency. All the stars seemed aligned to provide MIDCON the front-facing uniformed agency it needed were it not for an unlikely stumbling block-- the war in Vietnam.
The legend persists in the halls of government to this day. Facing increasing protests and domestic opposition to the war, Washington began stationing troops (up to 1500 at a time) in government offices across the country. Officially, they were there to protect federal offices from an increasingly militant anti-war movement. But anyone that knew Nixon chaffed at the concept of the increasingly paranoid commander-in-chief stationing armed forces within the halls of what seemed, to him, rival agencies flushed with political enemies. No one, especially MIDCON, wanted their offices garrisoned and heavily scrutinized-- much less ground zero for the next Kent State if protestors ever attempted to confront them. With pressure from MIDCON, secretary of Interior Walter Hickel sent a letter to President Nixon demanding that he "listen to the youth" and deescalate the situation. The letter leaked to the public, circulating in publications around Washington. Nixon, ever spiteful, torpedoed the Department of the Interior's bid for control of NOAA and assigned it to the Department of Commerce-- a move Washington insiders called "putting the fox in the hen house.” Not only was MIDCON robbed of its prize, but NOAA was placed under a department that would operate it in the name of commercial interests.
For everyone but Nixon, it seemed like an unmitigated disaster. Even the head of the Department of Commerce was taken aback, saying in his memoirs "I asked why we were so intent in winning this battle- and wouldn’t we be more focused on our essential mission if NOAA were placed elsewhere? The answer I received from those far more experienced than I in the governmental agency game was: 'Expand or die.'" In a latter passage he would write "Hiding my reservations concerning the headaches we would be inheriting, I congratulated the Secretary on his great victory. I grabbed a copy of the Stratton Commission Report and read the highlights on my way. I had never considered the possibility of our winning seriously enough to have really looked at the document. Fortunately the White House people with whom I was meeting had not read it either."
NOAA struggled severely under the Department of Commerce, who lacked the budget or interest to properly manage it. Largely left to languish in administrative hell, it was only a matter of time before the Office of Management and Budget audited the organization. With some political wrangling, MIDCON was able to sow anti-Commerce sentiment and convince a handful of key administrators of the necessity of an inter-agency taskforce to get NOAA back on track. Unofficially, it allowed the Department of the Interior to get their foot in the door and create an in for the Office of Mitigation and Defeat. It was an imperfect solution for an imperfect time. Even after the crisis had ended, MIDCON wouldn't soon forget how Nixon slighted them and the man's propensity for wiretapping anything and everything made having a frank, candid conversation with him on the nature of MIDCON impossible. One way or the other, he would need to be dealt with. So in 1972, a MIDCON agent under the cryptonym Deep Throat delivered confidential information on the Watergate Hotel break in to The Washington Post, taking precautions to make sure any investigation would lead back to an unaffiliated member of the FBI.
Today, MIDCON remains one of the major contributors to the NOAA Corps despite the agency falling outside of the Department of the Interior. Acting under the guise of an inter agency taskforce, MIDCON will send agents to NOAA Corps training to receive a uniformed service rank before having them shuffled into US armed forces units around the world as "technical specialists." Without the (unknowing) aid of the NOAA Corps, MIDCON's ability to operate alongside US troops or outside of the continental US would be severely inhibited.

BVD - Mass Post The BVD is subject to being altered depending on the universe I write her in. It will generally do the same thing, give or take some things.
Tumblr media
The BVD is an organization that originally began for archiving purposes. A sanctuary for sensitive information, artifacts, history - predominantly all information relating to non-humans. It started as an independent group that eventually was picked up by the government. It quickly grew beyond just the government, becoming a global organization with headquarters in every country that utilizes their services.
They exist as an elevated branch in the countries they reside in, speaking only to the higher officials and leaders. The BVD isn't a secretive organization, though they still aren't completely common knowledge either.
High profile human on human cases they are known for handling, due to the resources they can utilize when government branches end up limited by their own laws. Primarily, they are meant to investigate supernatural and paranormal beings and situations. Anything that can be classified high profile or non-human usually ends up in their hands.
Safeguarding artifacts, either dangerous or historical, documenting and archiving priceless information, field operations (investigations, negotiations, infiltrating and executions) are primarily what they are known for. BVD prioritizes non-lethal methods, preferring to disarm and subdue wanted beings. Engaging with non-human beings is meant to be led with negotiating and de-escalation. If that fails, capturing and bringing them to HQ. If that is impossible, execution to protect the public.
They evaluate and accept criminals and defects of other organizations that seek the BVD's protection, so long as they contribute accordingly. If they cannot or are unwilling, they will stay safely locked up in BVD custody. If they can play ball, they'll be assigned an agent to oversee them until they are trusted to operate on their own. The manner of crime, intent, motivations and all that completely matter as to how it all goes.
Non-humans who seek sanctuary at the BVD can also do the same. If they are not sentient in a similar manner to humans, they usually just live on the premises so long as they are not hostile.
BVD Headquarters
Every BVD HQ is a miniature city, usually in its own isolated area. Being away from civilization is important in case of a containment breach or any direct attacks. Nestor's HQ is located in a valley, the surrounding hills and mountains act as a natural deterrent and fence for the most part. Nonetheless, they have concealed outposts atop them to keep a vantage point. The city itself is walled with security surveillance lining the perimeter. There's one main entry point and two other access entry points. All gated with signs stating it is land owned by the BVD.
It has a main building surrounded by campus buildings related to the main. Such as the academy, public library and archives (all copied information deemed safe to read), armory and smithy for repairs, agent-specific hospital, prison (above ground and below). All business conducted related to the BVD is in the main building. Beyond the lobby, public access is off-limits without clearance or an agent.
All scientific work is also done within the main building, since it is the safest building in the city.
The families, or volunteers wishing to contribute without being agents, live and work regular jobs to help keep headquarters self-sufficient. They do take a fee for their work, but prioritize not being funded by any country to not owe anyone, anything.
HQ has many large parks, water features, chunky woods near the outskirts surrounding the city. Non-human beings or humans that prefer isolated locations are permitted to live there. Sections of the outskirts are also reserved for evaluating potential hostiles and if they will integrate into the BVD. Considered a testing grounds before entry is permitted.
The BVD possesses a highly advanced prison system. It's one of the main reasons a miniature city was required. Human criminals meant to stay in BVD custody have a very layered facility on the main building's grounds. Non-humans, however, are underground. The worst of the worst live in isolated cells suitable to their natural habitat and needs. Others, who just can't integrate well with the growing population of humans, coexist in habitats designed to mimic their needs. It's an extensive system and a huge portion of staff works to keep all of it running and operating comfortably.
HQ's main building also serves as a fallout shelter. It has facilities that the other buildings on its campus possess, just smaller. The buildings on campus are meant to function as branches off the main, to help regulate the workload. Should the worst happen, the building and underground network can fit the city's population.
Due to the BVD's status of being not common knowledge but also not being secretive, it's possible travelers may stumble upon HQ. Whether they are curious, evading bad weather or in need of medical treatment, after being screened, they'll be permitted entry. Near the front gate the BVD has facilities for people that stumble upon the city. If they aren't deemed a threat, they'll be allowed to travel deeper into the city proper. Usually, it is advised they stay near their accommodations so they don't get lost. These facilities have rooms for rest, medical, a food court, and various supplies for traveling so people can restock. If needed, the BVD will organize transport and relocate travelers back to the nearest city or town.
BVD and Simonia
See a small blurb here about Simonia.
Simonia used to be the top dog, a global company with various subsidiaries - all having their hands in various parts of the economy. For the most part, Simonia has done amazing things for the world. Healthcare, cures, improving food products and management, improving cities or funding positive projects.
However, they are also notorious for their scientific and supernatural experimentation and advancements that led to many problems people face. Like danger from man-made monsters. The BVD began to take on field assignments because new creatures were showing up and causing problems at an alarming rate.
Back then, Simonia went by another name. Nestor's mentors, Adrian and Joshua, shut them down. For a number of years, the company was cold even when their subsidiaries were still thriving.
One of Nestor's earliest assignments led to her discovering Simonia, realizing it was the same group under this new name. Since then, the BVD has been actively combating Simonia. Likewise, Simonia is actively trying to overthrow the BVD.
It isn't public knowledge that Simonia is the same company that Adrian and Joshua shut down. Much of the population sees Simonia in a favorable light that has come to replace their prior iteration. They don't realize just how correct they are in that.
Simonia is the reason for a lot of Nestor's trauma. Adrian's death, her own parent's death, many deaths among the BVD are because of actions Simonia has taken. She has a very strong trigger towards agents of Simonia, which is why her superiors send her in to clear their buildings or sites and obtain their data. The coldest Nestor is ever is when she's tasked with playing executioner.
Additional Information
Will be added when I think it up and reblogged, I guess.

If you have push notifications turned on for sensitive apps, you may want to reconsider your settings.
The United States government and foreign law enforcement can demand Apple and Google share metadata associated with push notifications from apps on iOS and Android, according to a US senator and court records reviewed by WIRED. These notifications can reveal which apps a person uses, along with other information that may be pertinent to law enforcement investigations.
US Senator Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat, highlighted the government surveillance technique in a letter sent to the US Department of Justice (DOJ) today. Wyden is specifically asking the DOJ to allow Apple and Google to discuss government requests for push notification records with their users, which Wyden says the US government has required them to keep secret thus far.
“In the spring of 2022, my office received a tip that government agencies in foreign countries were demanding smartphone ‘push’ notification records from Google and Apple,” Wyden wrote in the letter, which was first reported by Reuters. “My staff have been investigating this tip for the past year, which included contacting Apple and Google. In response to that query, the companies told my staff that information about this practice is restricted from public release by the government.”
App developers deliver push notifications using Apple’s Push Notification Service on iOS or Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android. Each user of an app is assigned a “push token,” which is transferred between the app and the mobile operating system’s push notification service. Push tokens are not permanently assigned to a single user, and new tokens may be generated when a person reinstalls an app or switches to a new device.
To identify a person of interest and whom they may have been communicating with, law enforcement must first go to an app developer to obtain the relevant push token and then bring it to the operating system maker—Apple or Google—and request information on which account the token is associated with. This puts the tech giants in “a unique position to facilitate government surveillance of how users are using particular apps,” Wyden writes.
According to Wyden, the records that governments can obtain from Apple and Google include metadata that reveals which apps a person has used, when they’ve received notifications, and the phone associated with a particular Google or Apple account. The content of push notifications is not included in this information, but, for at least some apps, law enforcement could obtain information about the content of specific pushes through additional requests based on the information from the push tokens.
While Wyden’s letter says that governments outside the US have requested people’s push notification records, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has done so as well. A February 2021 search warrant application submitted by an FBI agent to the US District Court in Washington, DC, requested details for two accounts controlled by Meta (then Facebook), specifically citing a request for push notification tokens. The search warrant request related to an investigation into a person accused of taking part in the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.
Meta, which owns Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, did not immediately respond to WIRED’s request to comment. A spokesperson for Signal, the popular encrypted messaging app, also did not respond. The DOJ declined to comment.
Although Wyden is asking the DOJ to allow Apple and Google to discuss government requests for push notification records, the senator’s letter appears to have enabled them to do just that.
An Apple spokesperson tells WIRED that the company has updated its Law Enforcement Guidelines in its transparency report to reflect government requests for push notification records. The company will also begin to detail these requests in its next transparency report. Apple's updated rules for police requests say push notification records “may be obtained with a subpoena or greater legal process.”
“Apple is committed to transparency and we have long been a supporter of efforts to ensure that providers are able to disclose as much information as possible to their users,” Apple says in a statement. “In this case, the federal government prohibited us from sharing any information and now that this method has become public we are updating our transparency reporting to detail these kinds of requests.”
Google confirmed to WIRED that it receives requests for push notification records, but the company says it already includes these types of requests in its transparency reports. The company says requests from US-based law enforcement for push notification records require court orders with judicial approval.
“We were the first major company to publish a public transparency report sharing the number and types of government requests for user data we receive, including the requests referred to by Senator Wyden,” a Google spokesperson tells WIRED. “We share the senator’s commitment to keeping users informed about these requests.
A WIRED review of Google’s most recent transparency report for the period between December 2019 and December 2022 found that it does not specifically break out government requests for push notification records, and Google confirmed that it aggregates this data in its transparency report.
Google’s transparency report shows that the US government requested Google Cloud Platform data from enterprise customers 175 times during the period, and of those, used a search warrant 13 times. It is unclear whether any of those requests for user data included push notification records—details that may, following Wyden’s letter, be revealed in the future.

oh my fucking god. STORY TIME
I got lost while driving today and ended up in front of a PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS’ building. I looked them up, it’s legit, I read the reviews and the first one is GOLD it’s like a mini episode.
I need 4 seasons and/or a podcast. I’m ready to make this my entire personality, just ummm here (this is probably illegal or smth):
“I used their services in the summer of 2015 and was assigned Nicholas. He is former British military and has an incredible attention to detail. I was contacted by him almost immediately and was in touch with him in real time throughout several periods of the investigation. His reporting was thorough and unbiased, with extensive detail on locations, times and pictures that proved to be a difference maker legally. Those are things I expected when I decided to pay for investigative services.
What surprised me, pleasantly, was Nicholas' empathy and compassion throughout the investigation. There were several moments that proved too difficult to hear or see. In each of those instances, Nicholas was both brutally honest (at my request) and offered a much needed ear for me to vent and process. It was like an old friend helping me through a very difficult few moments. He didn't have to listen, or be there for me. But he was. After his services were rendered and paid we kept in touch every few months. He asked about my personal situation and I updated him on the good that came from his work. We even shared some laughs about topics not related to the investigation. I have never seen his face or shaken his hand, but would take his call or answer a text at any hour of the day. And I forgot the mention, I live on the east coast, and did throughout the investigation. I was compelled to write this public review because of this kinship, over a year later.”
bro what the fuck? I have never seen his face or shaken his hand, but would take his call or answer a text at any hour of the day.
I am CRYING, how do I get a job shadow or internship here?
also how do you get a license in stalking?
I swear I’m normal now. (I’m a lier)

Settling Into Mongolia’s Modern Capital | #66 | November 2022
These events occurred when I’d been back in Mongolia for about a month. Some oddities of the culture shock had worn off by then, so I could get in more of a rhythm. After I got back from Kharhorin, plenty enough happened. This entry recounts the seedlings of adventures that would become new norms in my second year of Peace Corps service.
Transition
The Sunday, November 13, 2O22, which kicked off my Week 5, was fairly mundane. I attended English and Chinese Mass at my local St. Thomas Aquinas parish, practiced more people's names, met some of the parishioners’ kids then returned to my apartment. It was a good morning.
Then in my apartment, I spent the afternoon and evening writing. My main counterpart visited to drop off a considerable portion of the countryside meat, since our return to UB the night before. It was kind of wild to think that I had seen that animal walking just a couple days before. That Sunday, though, I had three articles I intended to finish. By 2 a.m., I had two pretty well drafted. The third was still some time coming. But finishing would have to wait.
New Projects, Familiar Faces
Tuesday, November 15, 2O22, I co-facilitated my first community English speaking club since my time in Erdenet. It was with the Volunteer Center of Mongolia, alongside my fellow M3O, Eric. Earlier that day, the two of us had visited the UNFP at the United Nations building. Eric and I had the interesting task of visiting local nonprofits and NGOs in preparation to report back to the new M3I Peace Corps Mongolia Trainees.
On a special note, one of the attendees of that speaking club was one of my former English/Chinese students from the 2OI9 group of international relations sophomores I’d taught back at the National University of Mongolia, Erdenet School. She had since graduated this spring 2O22, after having moved to UB. Having her as a facilitator for our speaking group felt so touching.
After Tuesday evening’s speaking club, I dropped by a small place on the west side of the square called the EscoBar. It’s where the public English “UB Quiz Night” was going down. Participants could pay a slight fee to join in for the chance to win the money if their table group won. (And if their team won second place, they were responsible for setting up the following week’s quiz.) Dropping by, I remembered how in Reno, Nevada, church friends from Newman would also participate in bar trivia outside town. On one such occasion I’d driven out to participate though I skipped the drinks.
The next afternoon, Wednesday, November 16, my main coworker and I taught our first seminar together! It was a citywide English methodology workshop hosted at a local secondary school, #48, near our office. I learned these monthly seminars would be a regular feature of my assignment to our city’s department of education. During the workshop, when I wasn’t presenting, I was noting unfamiliar Mongolian words and translating them with my dictionary. Some teachers got some cool photos and videos of me presenting! My first workshop was about how to reach Gen Z, which related to my Springtide Ambassador Program work. Apparently my being single was also an interesting tidbit to some in the room, too.
Volunteer Opportunities and Reunions
The next morning, Thursday, November 17, fellow M3O Eric and I embarked on a trip to Special Olympics Mongolia, the site of one of our M28 predecessors who’d stayed on back in 2OI9 to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer Leader (PCVL). With the PCVLs having evacuated with the rest of us, their former sites were now potential NGOs with whom we could serve. Special Olympics specifically had a special partnership with the Peace Corps thanks to the Shrivers.
Perhaps of the most special importance was an introduction to the American Corner. On Tuesday night, I’d also met at the Volunteer Center of Mongolia a volunteer who’d done projects in the city library, Duka. That afternoon I came by the uncannily familiar library. I would recognize this was one of many locations in UB I had visited only once yet significantly nonetheless. It was the site of the filmmakers’ December 2OI9 talk before my Christmas return to America that year.
At the American Corner, the student volunteer Duka introduced me to their program coordinator, Ari. From there, I got an overview of the center’s programs and needs. In Peace Corps lingo, we call this the needs assessment. I decided to help on their children’s speaking club and writing workshops. A children’s speaking club was among my Erdenet projects before, and writing was my specialty. I also met fellow Americans, such as those who came to Mongolia on the current cohort of Fulbrighters. I heard of more, too! My network rapidly expanded.
I at last got my schedule to work so that I could meet a dear ol’ friend. And my, what a meeting! We shared what felt for me like the finest meal I'd had since the time our Peace Corps Country Director had come to visit my sitemates and me just over three years before, Nov. 3, 2OI9, in Erdenet. Even the drinks were great! We reminisced about my days when I was first in Mongolia and he’d visited me at my old site. He shared more too about his professional background and work since the pandemic unfolded. We resolved to meet again so he could introduce me to program partners. It was a pleasant night.
Projects Beginning
That Friday, November 18, 2O22, marked the one-month anniversary since my return to Mongolia.
In fun resourcefulness news, I unlocked a door using scissors! It was during a visit to Beautiful Hearts, another previous Peace Corps Volunteer Leader (PCVL) site. I certainly appreciated this organization's service and hoped there was something Eric and I could do to carry on the Peace Corps partnership with them. At least a few of our M3I Trainees had social work backgrounds, too! Baigalmaa would be our main contact there. Another staff member there also mentioned I could get some tasty Chinese food from a restaurant near my office.
That afternoon I returned to the American Corner to begin as a co-facilitator to its children’s speaking club. In typical Peace Corps Mongolia fashion, I wondered if they played a prank on me, for when I got there, no one was around. Then people arrived. It made for a good laugh in the group chat.
I felt that the co-facilitator was a lovely presider. She gave me the grade school teacher vibe by how she smiled at the children and exuded what felt to me as though serene patience. I was quite literally passed the mic, so I took the floor. That was a fun moment.
Afterward, we strolled amid the flurries back toward the square. She was studying at university to become an English teacher, so I felt glad that she was working on our program. Then I continued my new Mongolian language classes with the friend Adonis. Turns out his lessons were in the same building as the Special Olympics office. So many places related!
Weekend All Across Town
Saturday, November 19 was Day 3 at the American Corner, then back to the cathedral. That morning a few of the M3I Trainees arrived with me to the public English speaking club. After it began transitioning to its Toastmasters time, that’s when I took off early to catch a bus east to Ofitser, where the cathedral was near.
At the cathedral, we rehearsed with the music ministry and celebrated with children the vigil Mass ahead of the next day’s Christ the King Sunday. I then received a ride from the cathedral to the Shangri-La, where we had the theatre. Unfortunately, just in front of the Star Apartments area (very close to the Shangri-La), we had a somewhat scary moment when our car wound up scraped with another. So I and a friend got out of the car and walked the remainder to the theater.
That night, a group of new Peace Corps Trainees and us saw the new “Black Panther.” I missed the introduction. But later reading, I discovered that it was as I expected: Chadwick Boseman’s real passing was referenced similarly by characters in the film as T’Challa’s passing. I found the film otherwise moody in the right ways. For it dealt with questions of colonialism while introducing a mutant of incredible power and decent charisma even if too headstrong. I also appreciated how they worked in the MIT character, for it reminded me of wandering the campus just a few months earlier, in September. I looked forward to seeing what Marvel Studios would do with her story.
Sunday, November 2O, 2O22, I returned to the cathedral for Christ the King Sunday, the last day of the church year. After singing with the choir, I ventured to a far side of town to a large bookstore called Azkhur. I came for an Autism Association of Mongolia volunteer training alongside M3O Eric, our Beautiful Hearts contact Baigalmaa and our friend from the Volunteer Center of Mongolia, Tsevelmaa. I enjoyed how our networking was already benefitting other organizations.
School Visits and New Encounters
Monday, I embarked on multiple school visits alongside my counterparts. We traveled to the 72nd, 50th and 5th Schools that day, primarily within the Chingeltei district. When introduced to English teachers, I did short needs assessments with their departments, sometimes even observed classes and gave teaching methodology advice to help address needs. Such school visits would become part of my main routines.
The next morning was the Feast of St. Cecelia. That morning, M3O Eric and I stopped by the Red Cross to learn more about its volunteer activities. That evening, he and I returned to the Edu-Volunteers’ English speaking club. That night, I returned to the American Corner to meet the American facilitator Nick of its remaining writers’ workshop. He taught me about what’s worked in his workshop and needs still to meet.
To wrap up Tuesday night, I headed with Nick to the 976 restaurant to experience another place where fellow international folks like to go, salsa night. It was a packed evening full of energetic folks hitting the floor every few minutes for salsa, bachata and kizomba. And after some time I eventually met the American for whom we were looking, Audrey. She was such a positive, peppy woman. It was nice to know another American associated with the Fulbright, too!
The U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia
Wednesday morning was an exciting time, for the new U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia, Mr. Michael Klecheski’s successor, would meet us Peace Corps folks. I needed some more vaccinations first from Medical, then it was time for the meet-up. That morning we returned to the community center of Star Apartments, where we’d celebrated Hallowe’en. This time the center was more plainly adorned. There we met the Ambassador, Mr. Richard Buangan, such a warm fellow.
Given that he was only the second ambassador I’d met, I naturally found myself comparing what I remembered of our 2OI9 ambassador and our current. Both were friendly and informed men. Though, I supposed I related better to Mr. Buangan’s interest in media and his Filipino descent, which reminded me of my tita. I hadn’t realized journalism in Mongolia had such challenges, yet that greatly interested me. It was wonderful to hear too he was so supportive of us Peace Corps folks. I wondered if someday I could become a U.S. ambassador.
For lunch I dropped by the Chinese restaurant mentioned to us the Friday before at Beautiful Hearts. It was admittedly alright. I wasn’t sure how regularly I’d want to come but at least the prices were nice. After that I headed back to the department office to work through the afternoon.
Chinggis Khaan’s Birthday Eve
That evening, Trainees and I assembled at a Starbucks-like Tom N Toms coffee shop in an office building downtown to co-plan our next big operation to occur on Chinggis Khaan’s Birthday, coinciding with Thanksgiving. We divvied up who would do what during our American cultural component of the presentation. I found it a bit ironic to get saddled with the Southwest despite feeling personally more like a Midwesterner. Nonetheless, the “Wild West” was a more iconic part of our nation and one that my Vegas experiences certainly enabled me to speak on.
Thus, in that single week after my Language Proficiency Interview and ‘cultural practicum’ to Kharhorin, new projects had begun in earnest. Every new day sowed the seeds of a next one.

The Bible’s Perspective on Women in Ministry
In many religions, women hold leadership roles as ministers or priests within communities. Several Protestant denominations, such as the United Methodist Church, the Episcopal Church, and others, allow women to become bishops and priests. Some Catholic churches have also seen increased female leadership roles within the Vatican serve as rabbis guiding communities with their spiritual knowledge and wisdom. In Hinduism, women priests, known as pujaris, perform rituals and lead ceremonies for their communities.
The Bible does not explicitly instruct women to teach the congregation. To ensure the congregation operates effectively, God has designated a specific group to take on the teaching role.
“ because a husband is head of his wife just as the Christ is head of the congregation.” - Ephesians 5:23
“But I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; in turn, the head of a woman is the man; in turn, the head of the Christ is God.” - 1 Corinthians 11:3
However, it is important to understand that not all men are automatically given the responsibility of oversight; this privilege is reserved for those who genuinely meet the necessary qualifications. The Bible outlines the necessary qualifications for men who wish to teach within congregations. These guidelines serve as a framework to ensure that teachers are well-prepared and capable of guiding others in their faith. (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).
The role assigned to women by God is not demeaning. In fact, Jehovah God has given them a significant purpose: to publicly bear witness about Him. This high calling reflects their importance in sharing His message with others. “Jehovah gives a command ; The women proclaiming the good news are a large army.” - Psalms 68:11.
Women who have experience in Christian living have the important opportunity to guide younger, less experienced women toward maturity. This role carries significant dignity and responsibility.
“I am introducing to you Phoeʹbe, our sister, who is a minister of the congregation that is in Cenʹchre·ae,” - Ro. 16:1.
The Scriptures do not support the role of female ministerial servants. A translation interprets the term broadly as "helper." However, Paul's mention clearly relates to the sharing of the good news in the Christian ministry. He refers to Phoebe as a female minister or helper connected to the congregation in Cenchreae.
An example of the ministry that Phoebe engaged in, similar to that of other women, can be found in Philippians 4:2-3. In his letter to the Philippians, Paul writes that certain women “worked together with me . . . in spreading the good news.”
The Bible makes clear that all Christians—including men with weighty congregation responsibilities—were to share in the public ministry. There is another vital role that certain women have in the congregation. Paul wrote: “Let the aged women be . . . teachers of what is good; that they may advise the young women younger women to love their husbands, to love their children”(Titus 2:3, 4) Thus, mature women with experience in Christian living have the privilege of helping younger and less experienced women to gain maturity. That too is a dignified, weighty role.
The primary way in which first-century Christians spread the good news was “publicly and from house to house.” (Acts 20:20) Those who engaged in that work were ministers. That included women such as Priscilla. She, along with her husband, “explained the way of God more accurately” to a God-fearing man who had not yet been baptized as a Christian. (Acts 18:25, 26) Like Phoebe, Priscilla evidently was an effective minister—as were many women.
Traditionally, many churches assign the responsibility of teaching within the assembly to male leaders. However, women's contributions in areas like hospitality and service are highly valued, and while their roles may differ, they are crucial for the growth of the faith community. The lack of clear directives for women can result in varying interpretations of their roles within the church.
Both men and women contribute to peace while respecting and honoring each gender. When men and women fulfill God's will in their designated roles, the congregation is blessed with peace.
“For God is a God not of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the holy ones” - 1 Corinthians 14:33.
“The things that you learned as well as accepted and heard and saw in connection with me, practice these, and the God of peace will be with you.” - Philippians 4:9.
“Be in subjection to one another in fear of Christ.” - Ephesians 4:21.

Communication and Collaboration Tools
Tumblr media
1: The Shift Toward Digital-First Solutions
Technology has redefined how we work, communicate, and solve problems. Today, even public relations firms like Golin PR Agency rely on digital tools to stay competitive. From automation to real-time analytics, these tools drive faster decisions and sharper strategies.
Digital-first isn’t just a trend. It’s a requirement.
You need to understand how to choose and use the right tools to grow your reach, influence, and results. Whether you manage a team or run a solo operation, the right tech stack helps you do more with less.
Here’s what most forward-thinking teams use today:
Cloud platforms: Tools like Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 offer access to files, calendars, and communication in one place. Teams work together from anywhere.
Project management software: Platforms such as Asana, Trello, and Click Up simplify planning, assigning, and tracking tasks. They replace endless email threads.
Communication tools: Slack and Zoom support fast, direct communication. Meetings, updates, and check-ins happen instantly.
Analytics dashboards: Google Analytics, SEMrush, and HubSpot help you track what works and what doesn’t. Data becomes your guide.
A great example: A small PR firm used these tools to cut meeting time by 40%, boost response rates, and deliver better media pitches. With less time on logistics, they focused on relationships what truly matters.
If you’re unsure where to begin, consider checking out reviews from PR pros. PR Agency Review compares top firms, shares insider experiences, and helps you decide who’s using tech tools effectively.
2: Automating Repetitive Tasks
Repetitive tasks slow you down. Think about the hours spent on sending follow-up emails, posting updates, or collecting basic reports. Now imagine getting that time back. That’s the power of automation.
Automation helps you:
Reduce human error
Save time and resources
Maintain consistency
Scale your efforts faster
You don’t need to be a tech expert to start. Many tools are built for ease of use.
Here are simple areas you can automate:
Email marketing: Platforms like Mailchimp and Convert Kit let you set up drip campaigns. Write once, send forever.
Social media: Tools like Buffer and Hootsuite schedule posts across channels. Plan content ahead of time and stay active even when offline.
Reporting: Google Data Studio pulls live data from multiple sources. You get automatic updates with no manual effort.
CRM workflows: Services like HubSpot or Salesforce can automate lead follow-ups, assign tasks, and score contacts.
Companies like W2O Group understand this well. They use automation to streamline large-scale communication and campaign monitoring. Their results are measurable, repeatable, and fast. But automation isn’t about replacing people. It’s about freeing them to focus on higher-value work like strategy and storytelling.
3: Collaboration Across Teams and Time Zones
Tumblr media
Working with others is easier than ever if you have the right tools. Whether your team shares a room or spans the globe, collaboration tools keep everyone connected and on the same page. You don’t need long email threads or back-to-back meetings to move a project forward.
Ask yourself:
Do team members know what others are working on?
Can everyone access shared files and resources easily?
Are updates clear, quick, and visible?
If the answer is no, collaboration tools can help.
Here are the essentials:
Shared document platforms: Google Docs and Microsoft OneDrive let teams edit in real time. You can see changes live and avoid version conflicts.
Team messaging apps: Slack and Microsoft Teams offer quick updates, organized threads, and searchable history. No more digging through email.
Task boards: Trello and Click Up make workflows visual. See who’s doing what, when it’s due, and where things stand.
Video calls: Zoom, Google Meet, and Loom bridge gaps. Meetings, brainstorming, and updates can happen face-to-face even virtually.
Start simple. Pick one tool. Use it well. Add others only when needed. In the next section, we’ll cover how analytics tools help you make smarter, faster decisions based on data not guesses.
4: Using Analytics Tools to Drive Smart Decisions
Every click, view, and share tells a story. Are you listening?
Analytics tools help you understand what’s working and what’s not. They turn raw data into clear, useful insights. This lets you make decisions based on facts not assumptions.
Start with these key questions:
Who’s visiting your site?
What content do they engage with?
Where do they drop off?
Which efforts drive real results?
You don’t need to be a data scientist to answer these.
Popular tools include:
Google Analytics: Tracks website traffic, bounce rates, user behavior, and conversions.
Hotjar: Shows how users interact with your site through heatmaps and session recordings.
SEMrush and Ahrefs: Reveal what keywords bring traffic, how you rank, and what your competitors are doing.
Social media insights: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn offer built-in dashboards. Measure reach, clicks, and engagement.
Firms like W2O Group rely heavily on analytics to refine campaigns. They collect feedback in real time, test variations, and make fast adjustments. That’s how they stay ahead. You can do the same on any scale.
But data means little without action. Make it a habit to:
Review reports weekly
Compare results month-to-month
Set simple KPIs like traffic, leads, or engagement rates
The more you track, the more you learn.
5: Content Creation Tools That Boost Your Output
Creating content takes time but the right tools can cut that time in half. Whether you’re writing blog posts, social captions, or press releases, content tools help you stay consistent and clear.
Think about your current process. Do you:
Start from scratch each time?
Struggle to find the right words?
If so, you’re doing too much manually.
Here’s what you need:
Writing tools: Grammarly checks grammar, tone, and clarity in real time. Hemingway App keeps sentences short and readable.
Content calendars: Notion, Trello, or CoSchedule help you plan and track content across platforms. You can see what’s done and what’s next.
AI writing tools: ChatGPT and Jasper can help you brainstorm, outline, or polish your drafts. Use them to speed up early drafts — not replace your voice.
Design tools: Canva lets you create social graphics, presentations, and reports without a designer.
Each tool saves you time. Together, they boost your output.
Content isn’t just about writing it’s about staying consistent. These tools help:
Keep tone and voice aligned across platforms
Reuse high-performing posts
Share updates faster and more often
Start with one tool that solves your biggest struggle then build from there. Also, if you want to see which PR teams excel at clear, effective content, check PR Agency Review. You’ll find feedback from clients and staff that shows how well these tools are being used in real campaigns.
6: Media Monitoring and Reputation Tracking
Tumblr media
What are people saying about you online? If you don’t know, you’re missing key insights. Media monitoring tools help you track mentions across news, blogs, and social media. This matters whether you’re building a brand, managing a campaign, or preventing a PR crisis.
Ask yourself:
Can you spot mentions in real time?
Do you track both positive and negative press?
Are you learning from public feedback?
Media monitoring tools give you those answers.
Here are some top choices:
Google Alerts: A free tool that sends updates when your name, brand, or keywords appear online.
Mention: Tracks mentions across the web and social platforms. Organizes them by sentiment.
Meltwater: A premium option used by PR teams. Offers deep tracking, trend analysis, and custom alerts.
Brand24: Gives insight into reach, influence, and sentiment of mentions. Helps you respond faster.
Let’s say your company is launching a new product. A media monitoring tool lets you:
Track who’s talking about it
Measure reach and tone of coverage
Respond quickly to both praise and criticism
Spot trends in real time
Instead of reacting late, you can act early with the facts in front of you.
To build an effective monitoring habit:
Set alerts for your name, company, and products
Check your dashboard daily
Respond to feedback where appropriate
Log patterns and use them to guide future outreach
7: CRM Tools for Managing Leads and Building Relationships
If you’re not tracking your leads, you’re losing opportunities. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools help you stay organized, follow up, and close deals faster.
Whether you’re a solo freelancer or part of a large PR team, you need a place to:
Store contact details
Track conversations
Schedule follow-ups
Manage sales pipelines
Without a CRM, these tasks are easy to forget or mishandle.
Popular CRM tools include:
HubSpot: Offers a free version with contact tracking, email templates, and reporting.
Salesforce: A full-featured CRM for large teams. Customizable and scalable.
Zoho CRM: Affordable and easy to use, with automation options.
Pipedrive: Focuses on visual pipelines. Great for tracking progress and next steps.
Let’s say you meet ten prospects at an event. With a CRM:
You log each person’s details in one place
Tag them by interest or project type
Schedule a follow-up email
Track who replies and who needs a nudge
That’s how you build real relationships not just contacts. CRMs also let you see trends. Are certain services more in demand? Are some follow-ups getting better responses? This data helps you adjust.
Get started with simple steps:
Add your last 10 contacts into a CRM
Create custom fields like “Last Contacted” or “Project Type”
Set reminders to check in
8: Project Management Tools for Better Organization
Are your projects running late or going over budget? You might not need more staff you might just need better tools. Project management tools help you plan, assign, and track every task. They make goals visible and deadlines clear. Everyone knows what to do, by when, and why it matters. Without a system, things slip through the cracks.
Ask yourself:
Does your team know what’s due this week?
Can you see project progress at a glance?
Are you tracking time, costs, and results?
If not, a project management tool can change how you work.
Here are some top options:
Asana: Great for teams. Lets you assign tasks, set priorities, and create timelines.
Trello: Simple, visual boards. Perfect for tracking progress and moving tasks across stages.
ClickUp: Combines tasks, docs, goals, and time tracking in one place.
Basecamp: Clean and focused on communication. Good for client work and small teams.
Let’s say you’re running a PR campaign:
You break it into tasks: draft press release, review, pitch, follow-up
Assign each task with a deadline
Use comments to give feedback or ask questions
Track progress and adjust if anything’s off
No guessing. No email chains. No confusion.
But tools don’t solve everything. You still need clear roles and good habits:
Hold weekly check-ins
Keep task lists up to date
Set realistic deadlines
Close tasks when they’re done
Start with one project. Use a simple board. Track progress for a week. You’ll see the difference.
9: Email Marketing Tools to Stay Connected
Tumblr media
Email is still one of the most direct ways to reach your audience. But blasting out messages without tracking results wastes time. That’s where email marketing tools come in.
They help you:
Build and segment your list
Design clean, mobile-friendly emails
Schedule and automate campaigns
Track open rates, click rates, and conversions
This isn’t just about sending newsletters. It’s about sending the right message to the right person at the right time.
Top tools include:
Mailchimp: A good choice for beginners. Offers drag-and-drop builders, templates, and automation.
ConvertKit: Great for creators. Focuses on sequences, tagging, and clean emails.
ActiveCampaign: Powerful for advanced automation and audience behavior tracking.
Brevo (formerly Sendinblue): Combines email, SMS, and chat. Useful for service-based businesses.
Let’s say you’re promoting an event. With the right email tool, you can:
Send invites to your subscriber list
Automate follow-ups for people who didn’t open the first message
Send reminders as the date approaches
Track who clicked the RSVP link
This saves you from sending the same email five times manually.
To improve your own email marketing:
Start building a list add leads, partners, and customers
Send a short monthly update or tip
Segment by interest or past behavior
Track which topics get more clicks
Even a small list can bring strong results if you manage it well. Want to work with agencies that understand how to use email tools for impact? Browse PR Agency Review. You’ll find firms rated on communication, outreach, and how well they engage their contacts.
10: Collaboration Tools for Real-Time Teamwork
When teams work remotely or across time zones, staying aligned gets harder. Emails pile up. Messages get lost. Tasks get delayed.
That’s where collaboration tools help. They let you:
Share files
Chat in real time
Host video calls
Manage discussions in channels or threads
These tools keep your team talking, thinking, and working together without needing to be in the same room.
Popular collaboration tools include:
Slack: Real-time messaging with channels for different topics. Easy to search and use.
Microsoft Teams: Combines chat, video, and document collaboration. Integrated with Office tools.
Google Workspace: Lets you co-edit documents, share folders, and chat directly inside files.
Zoom: For meetings, webinars, and screen sharing.
Let’s say your PR team is planning a client campaign. You could:
Use Slack to discuss ideas in a channel
Co-write the proposal in a shared Google Doc
Schedule a Zoom call to present it
Track edits and comments in real time
No waiting on email replies. No version control issues. No missed updates.
W2O Group and similar agencies rely on these tools to stay responsive and connected. Their teams often include strategists, media buyers, and analysts spread across cities or continents.
To build strong collaboration habits:
Create clear channels for each client or project
Use threads to keep conversations focused
Set rules for response times and availability
Link your collaboration tools to your project management system
Even small teams benefit from this structure.
