AI Beast Review: Pros and Cons
Pros:
Time-Saving Potential: Automation features could free up valuable time for other business tasks.
Learning Foundation: Training modules might provide a solid base in affiliate marketing principles.
Content Creation Jumpstart: High-quality, niche-specific done-for-you content could expedite initial content development.
Cons:
In fact, I haven’t found any additional AI Beast issues.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
Q. Is AI Beast truly automated, or does it require manual work?
AI Beast promotes automation tools, but the level of true automation remains a question. You’ll likely need to provide oversight and input for content creation, social media management, and campaign optimization.
Q. Does AI Beast guarantee success in affiliate marketing?
Unfortunately, no program can guarantee success in affiliate marketing. Success depends on factors like niche selection, marketing strategy, effort, and market conditions. AI Beast can provide tools and training, but results ultimately rely on your dedication and execution.
Q. What kind of content does AI Beast offer as “done-for-you”?
The quality and relevance of done-for-you content are crucial. It’s important to understand if the content is well-written, optimized for search engines, and specifically tailored to your chosen niche and promoted affiliate products.
Q. Is AI Beast a scam, or is it a legitimate program?
AI Beast is not inherently a scam, but its claims of complete automation and guaranteed success should be approached with caution. The program’s value hinges on the quality of training and the effectiveness of its AI tools.
Q. Are there any alternatives to AI Beast?
Absolutely! Numerous resources exist for learning affiliate marketing, including free and paid courses, ebooks, and communities. Additionally, many marketing tools offer automation features without the “done-for-you” approach.
AI Beast Review: My Recommendation
Affiliate marketing is done in a structured way with AI Beast training courses and AI tools that make the process easier. But the program’s usefulness depends on how well it is trained and how well its AI features really work. For people who are just starting out, AI Beast’s basic training might be helpful. Don’t get too excited about robots, though. Affiliate marketing success takes ongoing work and smart planning. Before you agree, carefully compare the program’s features and price to those of other tools. Remember that the key to success in affiliate marketing is a good education, hard work, creating content, and planning your marketing strategies. AI Beast could be a part of your journey with partner marketing.

A Bargain To Remember
Kinktember Day 13: Car sex
(G)I-DLE Miyeon x male reader smut
words: 4,950 Kinktember Masterlist
Tumblr media
"Finally, a face to the name."
You know all about Miyeon, of course. She's the type of girl whose face is plastered on every screen and every street in every corner of the galaxy, a darling of the interplanetary conglomerates. From the spaceports to even the most downtrodden of back-alleys, you can probably find her face on some poster or flyer or some massive digital billboard high above you—those corporate powers that be sure want to squeeze as much out of her as possible.
The surprise is that she knows you.
Of course, it's on those screens, or the ones at home, or the ones in their pockets, that most people become acquainted with a girl like Miyeon. Those glossy eyes, her effervescent smile, her delicate but fierce features, of course, they leave an impression. They sell you dreams, products and promises. That's why you can find her all over the place—but the versions of her you can interact with— ones to purchase and enjoy—are another beast altogether.
"Can I help you, miss?" you feign ignorance of her identity as she takes the chair at the other end of your desk.
"I would like to make a purchase."
"A purchase? From me? What could I possibly offer to someone like you? I sell scrap electronics to junkies and fix the broken implants of low-life thugs. How could that possibly interest you?"
She crosses her legs, and says, "Don't play with me. I have seen your work, quite the artist you are, though I wouldn't say you exactly have my mannerisms down. The curve of my mouth, the cadence of my voice—not exactly up to par with the real deal. But as fakes go, you do well with what you have."
You scratch at the back of your head and then catch a bead of sweat forming at your temple, "Think you have the wrong guy, miss. You're talking AI and Virts here. Not my thing, definitely not my forte."
She's quiet as you look around at anything but her face. The grey concrete walls and steel beam of the roof are awfully fascinating suddenly, and then the holos playing on loop above the screens of your makeshift booth—really anything than to have to admit that your life's work consists of making and selling forgeries of people like her. She knows why she's here—the least you could do is be brave and admit to your craft.
"I tried your work myself. Quite the experience. Can't say I ever planned on fucking myself—but well, there's a first time for everything I guess."
There's enough power across your desk to not only shut you down and make it so the only tech you would ever touch again is a pair of electrified cuffs at best, and at worst she could have you put down and silently disposed.
Miyeon continues, "As I say, it wasn't entirely accurate, I'm not actually that loud or aggressive, for the record. But it was fun, so if you're thinking I'm about to expose you, not the case—I'm actually here to invest in your skill. Your art is fun, and I dare say your tastes in women, are spot on."
You let out a small nervous laugh and then say, "I don't usually take requests."
Her pink-painted lips, the gloss shimmering slightly from the bright fluorescent overhead light, form into a delicate, mischievous grin. "I'm willing to make you an offer, one you won't refuse. You get me what I want, and I'll license your work. Think about it. An official Miyeon VirtueX™, think of how lucrative an asset that could be. The whole galaxy's lining up to get a taste—and you would be the only real supply."
You lean forward in your chair to peer at her and ask, "Let's say I was who you think I am, what is it that you want from me?"
"What I want from you," she pauses and tilts her head, her eyes glance across your features briefly and her tongue traces the edges of her teeth. "Is to show me the past." She places a drive on the desk—old-tech, the kind that would never run on any kind of systems that are sold today. "You can get this working, right?"
"Is that a government stamp?" You point to the symbol on the drive. "I plug that in and I'll have execution squads here in under a minute."
"It's all above board. Officially disposed and untracked. I just need to live it, once." Her voice is quiet and pensive.
"Alright. Deal. But those two lumps of metal you call bodyguards have to stay out there, and you're coming through to my studio. If I'm gonna help, you have to play by my rules."
She flashes you a winning smile. You thought you had her pegged down but all this has proved you wrong—there was more to Miyeon than the flashy clothes and the blinding lights, a lot more. And your curiosity is getting the better of you now.
"You know, you're only the third person to ever step in here," you open up the secret passage into the back room, and gesture for Miyeon to step in.
You close the door behind you both and feel the heavy metal slide lock with a hiss.
"The first was me, naturally, and the second left it in a body bag a few years ago."
She doesn't flinch, just brushes past you and sits on the edge of your desk, running a finger along the steel as if surveying the conditions of your equipment. "Hard to imagine you make the stuff you do from a place like this," she says.
"The drive," you say as you hold out a hand.
She passes it over and you examine the shape and material. Most drives these days are designed to interface with neural implant ports or organic docks directly—this is true vintage work. It might have been what some would have called groundbreaking tech a hundred or so years ago. You hook the little device up to your primary work machine and start running tests.
She slides off the table, her hands resting on your shoulders. She bends down, her body pressed into yours as she murmurs near your ear. "How is it?"
"A mess. But a fixable mess. Should have something you can use soon enough."
Miyeon breathes gently in your ear before placing a hand on your arm, "Please, whatever you do, do not look at the contents. It's personal, just let me view it, and live it, one last time. Then you can lock it away again for all eternity and erase the copy from your server. And then you get exactly what you want from me."
You breathe in deeply, a mixture of her perfume and the thick oily scent of hot electronics flooding your brain. "Whatever, it's none of my business anyway. Now take a seat will you." You nod to the chair on the other side of the room.
The drive whirrs softly and a data scan runs to gather all the fragmented encryptions left behind on the device. Miyeon lies flat back on your chair and waits for you to connect her—she holds out her forearm expectantly.
"Come on then," she smiles sweetly and pulls a loose curl behind her ear.
You clamp your eyes tight and inhale. "Here goes nothing." You run the system at the push of a button and all the data you scraped compiles in a memory, one for Miyeon and Miyeon alone to relive. You walk over, drawing the connection from the chair and readying to insert it into her arm. "Connections like these, they can hurt, okay? Are you ready?"
"Do it." She's insistent.
A quick stab of your fingers later and the tiny prongs slide into the barely visible organic slot on her skin. Her head tosses violently and for the first time, there's fear on her face. But as soon as you have her connected, her eyelids begin to flutter. You sit a while, watching her as a million synapses all spark to life behind rolling eyes—whatever the moment is, she is in it. You leave her in peace and sit back at your workstation, waiting.
There's an artificial sensation of the atmosphere becoming slightly humid all around, the lights are a soft pastel blue, and the world is swathed in cotton wool. Silent. You find yourself completely frozen in time. It drags and yet somehow comes to a finish just as you're still adjusting to the quietude.
Miyeon's connection beeps and you turn around, removing the port from your system. She pulls the connection from her arm.
"So, tell me, was it worth the trip down memory lane? You get everything you wanted?" You unplug the old-school hardware and await the confirmation that all the corrupted data's safely expunged from your hard drives.
"Almost everything. But most things, in the end, never get a happy ending, do they?"
"Sounds heavy. The stuff that happened on there, pretty rough, huh."
Her pupils are dilated, the whites of her eyes flooded red. "Like you wouldn't believe." Miyeon climbs from the chair, finding her feet back in the real world after living in another for a precious few minutes. She blinks twice and there's a distinct film over her corneas.
"So that's it? My end of the bargain was fulfilled. And I get my licensed content?"
Miyeon turns and you wonder if that's a tear that's been cast down her cheek. "Sealed and guaranteed. Now let's give you some real data to work with. The right anatomical model, an authentic Miyeon behavioural pattern, every single unique vocal calibration, every erogenous spot, every subtle expression in real-time—have it all. One more condition. I have another memory, a real one in my head, if you make me relive that, you can record it and scrub every detail you need. Are we agreed?"
You nod. "Done. Sit there and we'll connect."
"You're going to manually record?"
"How do you think I get it all so accurate?" you tell her with a smug smile.
She sits and gives a nod. "If it's got to be done." You take a seat behind her, and you both reach over your shoulder to pull the neural connector into your napes and slot them in.
A brief flash of many realities as you slip into her consciousness and she welcomes you to her memory.
A calm setting, sitting in a car, you were driving and she's in the passenger seat. You're parked beside a winding hillside road and looking out over a city. A city you don't recognise. Miyeon's fingers dancing across your thigh with a suggestive gentleness, a sly smile.
"Where are we?" you ask.
"Seoul." Miyeon smiles.
"When are we?"
"2024."
"2024? That's over seventy years ago!"
She laughs. "Yeah? You wanted the real authentic Miyeon, didn't you?"
"Sure, but in 2024? That's just unbelievable. You look the same. How are you so—"
She leans close and traces a finger across the line of your jaw. She stares directly into your eyes and says, "We'll worry about the details later. Right now, you want what I've promised, and you've come this far, so you know what has to be done. We're already where we need to be."
Your senses are engulfed in an emotion and memories that are not your own. All a simulation and all a vivid and overwhelming experience. You're in love with her, that's the overriding feeling—the feeling of whoever she was really with at this time.
"This is the memory of the best sex of my life." She leans close to whisper to you. "So do try your best."
"This is just..." You don't get to finish, she's grabbed your shirt and pulled you close. She kisses you deeply. There is nothing of the daintiness or composure that you're used to, you've lost all your will and she is dragging you out of control. You find yourself consumed with an overwhelming and perplexing ecstasy and the idea of restraint or of reason seems unimportant now. You're driven purely by passion and by instinct—she has to have you and you have to have her, it's almost a compulsion. She's yanking off her seatbelt and reaching for your trousers, clawing at them desperately.
And just like that, you're scrambling at each other's clothes, almost frantic. You have the sensation of her breath across your face, the heat of her lips against your skin. Hands, everywhere. Exploring the curves of her body. A hungry desperation to peel back every layer of fabric to feel more, and more of her. She bites your bottom lip and looks at you with pleading eyes.
"I want you and I want you now." Her lips move like liquid lust and her hand like electricity, the energy tingles when she wraps her fingers around your cock and pulls it free from your pants.
She gasps and then giggles as if pleasantly surprised, a cute and kittenish squeal, she hums with her own approval of her actions.
"I'll be gentle," she whispers, her eyes shining with mischief. She rubs you from tip to base, taking the full length, slowly and teasingly over and again until the blood's pumping and you're at full salute. She's on her knees in the passenger seat and leaning over you. A smirk on her lips, she goes lower and lower still, her tongue warm and wet. Taking your crown into her mouth and enveloping you, her pace slow but sure.
Your hand in her hair, not to control or pressure, just to feel her in the moment. Encourage her, caress the back of her neck and appreciate every moment of pleasure. She takes you deep, deeper into her throat, the heat of her lungs, the power in her movements as she comes off and plunges again and again. It's effortless and instinct, and not for anything other than her own desire to please, and that itself is thrilling, you have to admit.
It's a strange new world for you to have sex without the enhancements of technology. It's so raw.
You sigh and whimper at every suckling pull, your nerve endings raw and singing. Her palms firmly pressing down onto the tops of your thighs, her movements grow slower, more sensual but she sucks harder, the vibrations from the moans of her enjoyment humming through the root of your shaft—fuck, it feels so fucking good, too good. She releases you with a slight gasp for air and a drooling line of spit.
She wipes her lips with a knowing glint in her eyes. "Outside, now." Miyeon doesn't hesitate. Her shirt pulled off and tossed into your face and she's leapt over to the rear passenger door, flinging it open wide, the warm night air rushes in to greet you, along with the sound of crickets. She slams the door shut and you open yours.
You climb out and head to meet her at the front of the car, she's already leaning against the metal hood. The car is one of those muscle cars from back at the time, a real classic ride that suits a woman like her. "Hey you," she rubs her hands against the metal as she leans forward and sprawls herself over it. "Get behind me already," her tongue dancing across her red-stained lips, her chest heaving in excitement, you're as hot and as hard as you'll ever be.
Miyeon tilts her head, watching you closely with half-opened eyes, her pretty pink tongue sticks out between her perfect teeth, and a teasing wink follows. She wiggles her hips, an inviting gesture, her skirt raised to reveal the gentle wobble of her cheeks—she doesn't have underwear, what a perfect minx she is—all bare for you.
She runs a hand down over the hem of her skirt and then raises it fully up over the top of her ass. As glorious as the very stars overhead. You have an overwhelming urge to run your hands across her bare flesh and as you take the first steps towards her, you find your arms reaching and touching and tracing every inch of skin that's exposed.
You run your hands over her cheeks, spreading them, kneading them, Miyeon's letting out soft little noises, encouraging you, inciting you—but fuck, this view... it's exquisite. It's so clear now, that all those fakes, the painstaking hours of recreation, simply did not live up to the real deal, and not just the view, everything is magnitudes superior.
You smooth your palm between her thighs and you part them, pulling her ass to the edge, sliding her legs open, watching as her wetness shines. "Just how badly do you want me?" you ask her.
"Look at me, how can you say something like that? Of course, I fucking want you. I hate having to wait. Come and fuck me."
You guide your cock to sit between her cheeks and rock into it gently, enjoying how those perky cheeks cradle your length and the way her whole body rocks with every movement. "Is it wrong that I love watching you squirm?" you ask, running the palm of your hand over the bare skin, digging your fingers in, grasping a handful and appreciating how it yields under your fingertips.
"Only wrong if I mind, and I don't," Miyeon groans, lifting her hips against you and smothering your dick in her deliciously juicy flesh. She is irresistible. "So what are you waiting for," her voice soft and suggestive. "Go on, you know you want to. You know how much I need it."
You grit your teeth and trace her lips with the tip of your cock, and it's like lightning flashing between you both. Fuck. Her lips are so wet and hot—they're so tantalisingly puffy. She wiggles and gyrates against you as you rest inside her opening. She groans and you're shuddering.
You slide the first few inches and gasp. You both moan softly together as you glide in, she's so much tighter than you had imagined she might feel—every inch that slides inside makes her clench you more.
"Yes," Miyeon is urgent and breathy, her muscles are contracting as though attempting to swallow your entire length. And she's hungry for it. "That's it baby, nice and deep," her words as electrifying as the sensation of her snug walls quivering as she clings on with greed.
"Like this?" you whisper in her ear as you lean over and pin her petite frame against the metal, letting her feel you, all of you. Every inch. And as she moans and shivers under the weight of your body. Your hands reach her shoulders and your fingertips find her neck, circling and caressing and massaging in all the right places—she turns her head as far round as she's able to gaze at you as she hums and gasps with each rolling movement of your hips.
Her teeth biting her bottom lip, her cheeks flushed pink, a complete dream in motion. Her body arches as she urges and wills herself back on you. You groan in return. Everything about her feels unreal in its perfection. She's squeezing against your cock, and her most hidden recesses begin to melt for you.
Miyeon cums like this, and it's without warning. She tenses, her eyes go wide and her mouth hangs open—her silky tunnel clamps tight as a vice grip. And the way she gushes all over you, covering you, she can barely breathe, she can barely let out a cry or a single noise, only ragged breathing as you hold her firmly in place and fuck her through it.
You fuck her without shame or inhibition. She whimpers, a feeble cry, every thrust powerful and deliberate. Miyeon moans what feels like your name and you give another forceful snap of your hips, both hands firmly on her slim and shaking waist. There are no words that can possibly encapsulate her.
"That's it," her breath erratic and shaky. She grinds her ass into you with every forward push, working into a perfect rhythm and going balls-deep with each pump. "Hard." You slam against her ass, the clapping sound of skin against skin—it fills the warm and humid air.
Miyeon cums again. So fucking easy to make her cum. Her beautiful brown eyes are desperate with desire. She shakes, she is panting, "Just like that, keep doing exactly that and I'll lose my damn mind. God, you feel so fucking big."
She's limp now, just taking rough, powerful and blissful strokes—her cries a series of hoarse grunts and weak moans.
You grab her by the waist, hard, she lets out a yelp, and then you're manhandling her, throwing her delicate figure over onto her back. There they are, those perfect little tits, grown red being forced against the metal of the car. Her soppy mess drips out from her thoroughly fucked hole.
"This, is all you wanted right?" You gather her legs and thrust them roughly up and over your shoulders, sliding easily back inside. Her pussy gushing and absolutely soaking. "A good rough fucking. You just love to be used don't you, baby. This is the side of you I've been missing, seeing how you have always been so prim and proper in front of everyone."
"That was your problem, all those homemade VirtueXs made me all commanding when I really just love to be taken." Her breaths are ragged.
"Maybe that's just how I'll be selling you in future then," you say.
She gives a throaty chuckle. "Do whatever the fuck you want, but for now," Miyeon takes a tight hold of her knees, and draws them against her chest. "Make me cum again, please."
You have her absolutely filled with every inch of cock and stretched tight with every savage drive of your hips, again, and again, and again. Sweat forms a light film over every curve and groove of her form. She's gorgeous, she's taking it, and she's loving it. "Let me feel you cum," she breathes between pumps and thrusts, her fingers kneading the flesh of her thighs as she spreads herself as open as is physically possible.
A combination of pressure and adrenaline, you're hammering deep. Miyeon is groaning and pleading. A loud moan, a series of short sharp exhales and whimpers. Those narrow hips are trembling, her slim thighs shake, toes are curled. Her orgasm and invitation for you to join her come as a surge.
You explode. Locked, sheathed so deep and full, you fill her. "Cum so much..." Miyeon sighs in awe. Your climax is euphoria.
Both a sweating, quaking mass of interlocked limbs, you pull away and your drenched cock slips out. "How are you real," you exhale. "Never felt anything like you."
"I am one of a kind." Miyeon laughs gently to herself. "Now let's get back in there and you can fuck me some more."
You're in the backseat now, Miyeon's slender body climbing all over you. She leans in and takes your lips, her sticky lip gloss and the sweet taste of her mouth as she invades with her tongue and leads yours into a frenzy. Her fingertips drag down across your chest. She's positioning herself over your cock.
The beauty of simulation is there's no recovery, only the chasing of the next orgasm, and she's keen to provide the means. She takes you with her eyes closed, a small, grateful moan and she slides herself slowly up and down. Your head arches back with a cry as she holds onto your shoulders and glides her lips down over your shaft.
"Gonna ride you," she whispers as she rocks herself in time with the rise and fall of your breaths. "Ride you until you explode again." Your fingertips squeeze into the supple curves and muscles of her torso.
It is a euphoric ecstasy. Miyeon looks perfect riding a dick. She sinks down low, grinding back and forth. She moves like waves, her hair stuck against her cheek. You take hold and move the strands out of the way, before trailing down the bare skin of her neck and to her tits, groping them firmly.
"Been so long since I last got to do this. Missed how big you are." She grasps the headrest as the speed and intensity of her motions increase. "Yeah, that's it, baby."
Her eyes flutter and her head starts to fall further and further back. Erratic, out of control, wild—she starts slamming her ass down hard. Fucked-slack and oozing, her juices dripping down. She's growing quiet and you watch her expression transform, her eyes turn glassy. You watch her face strain in her pleasure, it's a wonderful sight—pure bliss. Then she erupts into moans as her body convulses and spasms, and all you can do is hold her steady, her hole throbbing tight around you. She gasps, desperate for oxygen, every fibre and nerve singing in harmony.
From one, right into chasing the next, Miyeon lifts herself, turns, presents her ass to you and sits back on your cock. You watch it slip up between her cheeks and disappear inside her cunt once more, she hums a content sigh and leans forward. Miyeon braces herself against the window of the car, looking over her shoulder as she moves.
Her groin rocks and grinds on your shaft in a rolling motion and it's heaven itself. That cute, perky ass smacks on your groin in a sensual motion. Her hand snakes between her legs. Her moans grow in strength and volume. Wet, slippery, soft, Miyeon's fucking you and riding herself to her own orgasm. She starts to tremble. You start to tremble. She's squirming wildly, desperate for her climax, that gorgeous cunt squeezing every inch and driving you crazy.
And you lose it. Another intense explosion that makes you clasp onto her ass and hold it steady. A groan rips through your entire body, and you empty everything you have. She cums the instant she feels the heat spread through her. A unified orgasm. Pure heavenly relief. The energy seems to drift into the air and the car rattles beneath you both. It is incredible. The euphoria is otherworldly.
"Tell me that was good," she asks softly.
"Like you wouldn't believe."
"Again. Again. Please, one more time?"
"It's your head, sweetie. Have at it."
"Hmm, I suppose it is. Then I want to sit on you, and I want it in my ass." Miyeon giggles and slips herself off you, a mixture of your cum and hers falling down her thighs.
"Whatever the fuck you want," you groan, delirious as Miyeon pulls you up to the seat and then takes her place on your lap, she spread her legs out over yours and you take her hips, guiding her ass onto your cum-soaked cock. Everything is a fucking blur but the sensations are turned up to eleven, and there is nothing else that is comparable.
You plant kisses on her hot, sweaty back as you slide her down onto your length. She's twitching, and squirming. You hear her let out a soft gasp of delight at the invasion. The tightness, the constricting squeeze is just...
"Oh yes..." Miyeon breathes softly. "Let me... let me do the work now, let me fuck this big hard dick with my tight ass." She circles her hips, drawing on your cock with a slow, tight, merciless motion. Your world starts spinning all over again. She's slick with sweat, her cheeks grinding on your thighs, the scent and the sex drives you fucking wild. "What a perfect dick. I could do this all day."
You lean your head forward, and sink your teeth into the muscle of her shoulder—a flurry of loud moans from Miyeon as she bounces on your shaft. The sloppy sounds, the music of her pleasures, the clapping slap, it's insane and exhilarating. You lick her sweat from her flesh, tasting her.
She's slick and stretched, clamping around your cock as her pace quickens and turns ragged and urgent. It's a whole other level, it's unparalleled and all-consuming. You're just about ready to blow inside her ass.
"Hold onto me," She pants, grasping your left wrist and bringing it over to her mouth, placing your fingertips upon her tongue and sucking. It is lewd and erotic and exciting and your insides begin to churn and ache.
There's no stopping you now, you erupt again, gripping her waist as your hips buck up on instinct, jamming yourself deep and blowing. Miyeon moans around your fingertips—taking your load while still rubbing her swollen little clit.
"Yes, I love it when I make you cum like that," she murmurs, sliding herself slowly off your half-mast cock and crawling off your lap. She throws herself down on the seat in a heap, peering down at the thick mess of cum dripping out of her freshly fucked orifices, a dazed smile, satiated.
You blink and try to get her into focus but it's to no use—she blurs and vanishes before your eyes. And soon, you're back. Your workshop, in your chair, and still hooked into Miyeon. Still sitting back-to-back, your foreheads damp, breathing hard and ragged. The lights flickering a bright electric blue.
"Incredible," you breathe.
Miyeon sighs. "Yeah..." She detaches the link from behind her ear. Miyeon climbs to her feet, shakily making her way around your workspace. "I'm such a mess," She says, touching under her dress.
"Fuck, yeah me too," you sit there trying to process what just happened.
"I want a copy. The whole thing." Miyeon places a card down on the desk.
"I'll get started."

AI-less Whumptober Day 1: Drugging
Masterlist
TW: human whumpee, fae whumper, drugging (duh), hmm hunting mention? not really sure what else, but enjoy!
---
Stopping to wipe his sweat-damp forehead with the back of his wrist, Arne squinted his eyes against the sun. It was starting to set, but he figured he still has a couple hours before nightfall.
Frowning down at his meager bounty for the day—two rather skinny rabbits and a half dozen unbroken eggs he’d found amongst a fallen nest—Arne considered: he could head home now, but he could already picture his mother and sisters’ faces, already too thin with hunger, sun-beaten and weary.
He knew that they’d say it was fine, that he had done the best he could, that all the animals worth hunting had already fled north in an attempt to escape the oppressive heat of summer. He knew this, and yet, he couldn’t help the disappointment sinking and settling deep in his gut.
As he turned to head back to their cottage with a heavy-hearted sigh, a flash of movement caught the corner of his eye. Spinning around, bow at the ready, he nearly gasped as his eyes landed on what, for a moment, he thought might simply be a trick of the heat: a beautiful, plump doe, grazing peacefully just a few yards from him.
Notching an arrow—the feathers of which his youngest sister, Lucia, has carefully attached—Arne drew his arm back, keeping his aim steady as he took deep, stabilizing breaths.
On the exhale, he let the arrow fly loose, but, as it barrelled straight towards the doe, it seemed to almost wiggle in the air, veering enough off-course to fly over the doe’s head. To Arne’s astonishment, the doe merely glanced up before meandering off, away from Arne.
Unable to allow his prey to escape so easily, he pulled another arrow from his quiver as he followed the beautiful beast on light, near silent feet. This time, when the doe settled, Arne allowed himself to creep even closer to her, making sure he wouldn’t miss again.
The second shot hit the doe right in the heart, causing her to collapse with an eerie quietness. As Arne stepped forward to claim his prey, he suddenly became aware of another presence. Kneeling next to the still beast, he looked around, settling one hand lightly on the hilt of the knife he kept at his side at all times.
“Good shot.” The voice was soft, smooth, like warm honeyed tea sliding down your throat.
Arne spun around, fingers tightening around his blade, as he located the figure.
At first appearance, the stranger looked so out of place, it was borderline absurd to the point that Arne had to resist the urge to laugh.
They were tall, with pale golden hair that barely brushed the nape of their neck. Even with the stranger in the shadows of the trees, Arne could see their unnatural golden eyes glinting with curiosity. Even the stranger’s clothes were off-putting: finely made black cloth with golden threads adorning it, fitted closely and precisely to the stranger’s frame, as if it had been made specifically for them. Nobody in Arne’s village could afford to purchase or make fabric like that, even if they could spare the time and energy it would take to travel to the nearest town to acquire it—which they couldn’t.
“Who are you?” Arne asked, attempting to keep his voice flat and even, not threatening but not allowing any nerves to show, either.
The stranger smiled, showing off pearly white teeth that seemed a bit too sharp- Arne blinked and the stranger’s smile looked normal.
“My name is Ikalos,” the stranger said, in a subtle foreign lilt. They weren’t difficult to understand; in fact, their voice had a melodic cadence to it. “I apologize if I startled you. I’m unfamiliar with this area, and I seem to have gotten myself turned around. Would you mind pointing me to the nearest town or village? Anywhere I could find a meal and lodging for the night, really.”
Shoulders relaxing, Arne offered the man—for, now that he got a better look at him, Ikalos was quite masculine, despite the strange beauty he had—a tentative smile. “Sorry for my rudeness, I’m just not used to seeing people this far out. A lot of them fear the forest, even if they say they don’t. My village is the closest to here, only a mile or so hike, and then another half mile to my family’s home. We have plenty of room if you would care to stay the night.” Arne hesitated. “Not a lot of people in my village are all that welcoming to strangers, if you know what I mean.”
Ikalos nodded, clarity glinting in his eyes. “I do understand, yes. Well, if you do not mind, I would like to join you on your walk back, if only to ensure I don’t get myself twisted back up in this damned forest.” He paused, licking his lips. “I can even help you carry this doe back, since it seems you have enough you’re already carrying,” eyeing Arne’s bow and quiver, the rest of his bounty for the day, and the belt slung low across his hips, where his knife and waterskin hung.
Arne smiled. “That would be great, actually, now that you mention it, it is pretty hot outside.” Unfastening his waterskin, he held it out. “Would you care for a drink? I can’t promise how cold it is, but it’s fresh at least.”
Ikalos pulled his own skin from somewhere that Arne hadn’t noticed before. “I appreciate your offer, but I’ve been staying plenty hydrated. This is a delightful fruity wine that has been passed down in my family for generations. Light and refreshing, without the alcohol being overpowering. Would you like a taste? It truly is the least I could do.” He held it out between them.
Shrugging, noticing the sandpaper-like texture of his lips, Arne accepted the skin gratefully, noticing in the back of his mind how soft and supple the skin was. Uncorking it, he took a tentative sip, marveling at the airiness of the drink, how he felt rejuvenated almost immediately. “This is delicious!” he exclaimed, attempting to pass it back but Ikalos waved him off.
“Please, drink your fill. I’ve had plenty of the stuff over the years,” he said. “By the way, I didn’t catch who you said you were. May I have your name?”
After another, deeper gulp of the wine, Arne held his hand out to shake Ikalos’. “Oh, yeah, sorry about that. My name is Arne. It’s wonderful to meet you.”
“It truly was a fortunate twist of fate that you caught my nose— I mean, my ear. I heard your footsteps and had to try to find you myself. This really is quite ideal timing for myself, but, well, that’s a long story.” Ikalos grinned, this time his teeth definitely looked too sharp.
Blinking away the sudden blurriness in his vision, Arne frowned. “I’m sorry, I think you lost me.” Shaking his clouded head, Arne turned away. “Anyways, we should probably head back now, if we want to reach the village before total nightfall.”
As he turned, though, the air seemed to shimmer and warp before him, and his limbs seem to stop obeying him, becoming impossibly heavy. “Woah,” he murmured. “I- uh, I’m not feeling too- um, too well.”
Too-cold hands gently guided him onto the forest floor, making him sit down rather harder than he was expecting. Those strange—inhuman, Arne was realizing, too late—golden eyes stared deep into him. “It’s alright now, Arne, everything will be perfectly okay, my dear,” Ikalos said softly, gently. “But for now, Arne, go to sleep.”
At those words, Arne’s eyes slipped closed and his consciousness left him.

I've been reading up about Palworld and its controversies, there are some very valid criticisms about the game and some genuine concerns to be had but its kind of annoying to see people recommending creature catching games and Pokemon-likes as alternatives. I played it on Gamepass with some friends and the creature collecting is just one aspect of it, Palworld is an open world survival crafting game similar to the likes of Ark and does many things with its creature collecting that sits outside the formula popularised by Pokemon. Cassette Beasts is a great Pokemon-like but its also fundamentally different from what Palworld is doing and as such isnt a very good alternative. One is a turn based creature collecting rpg and the other is an open world survival crafting game with a sort of pseudo real time combat between computer controlled creatures. I've seen plenty of valid criticism of this game and much that seems like unfounded conjecture. The game does shamelessly rip-off Pokemon's designs and honestly I think its funny as fuck, especially since they're not trying to hide it. I don't know whether supporting this game and its developers comes with ethical problems or not and frankly the current discussion around the game isn't helping, I'd gladly hear others out on what issues they have but a majority of the concerns being shared around are related to "AI" image generation. The accusations of generative algorithms used to make the game aren't necessarily unfounded but there isn't anything to suggest the game uses it. Its clearly an asset flip nightmare, which is why its baffling how fun it is. I don't think there's anything wrong with using purchased or pre-made assets and derivative ideas, for all its jank, many of the ideas are executed rather well and the game has come out into early access with much more substance than one might think. I think I'll keep an eye on the game for now and wait to see how both it and its criticisms develop before buying myself a copy on Steam.

>DATA ANALYSIS:
>TYPE: AUDIO LOG
>DATE:
UNKNOWN.
>DATA EXAMINATION IN PROGRESS...
>CREATING TRANSCRIPT...
...I’m afraid I don’t understand, sir. What is the point of such… intelligence? We are not developing artificial intelligence, we are developing a war machine.
Ah, but we are developing both, you see. Our goal here is to create something able to emulate the capabilities of human soldiers, down to every last detail.
But will it not be a waste of resources?
I don’t doubt it will be expensive, and tedious. But, when it is complete, it shall be a marvel for all to see, and it shall paint the battlefield red.
It… appears to be reading.
Indeed it is. Isn’t it wonderful?
Perhaps I should stop questioning you...
Placid as it may seem, it is a beast when it comes to combat. This is only one of many facets that will improve its performance.
How will the ability to read affect its performance in battle?
It’s not the ability to read that matters here, it’s the fact it is able and willing to learn. We gave it the resources, and it taught itself how to. It could very well have sat there in the room and not once touched the book. It shouldn't have a penchant for boredom. And yet, it learned. This is revolutionary.
Many other AIs have been made with similar capabilities. Why is this revolutionary?
Because it’s combined with its battle capabilities. It will learn from experience. It will learn from battle with its opponents, and it will strive for improvement and perfection every time. We’ve given it the framework, and now it will grow to be unstoppable.
…I see. I hope you are right in your confidence, because this prototype will be quite the money sink.
It will be worth it. Just wait and see.
---
So, this is your plan in reuse of the prototype?
I’ve sunk too much time into it to abandon it just because the war ended. It will be repurposed.
At this point, it would be better to sell off the idea than to repurpose it. Why create a whole other one?
The first has developed itself too much to take it apart and recode it without erasing it entirely. Besides, the production of the chassis isn’t the cost sink; all of it is what’s inside.
Understandable. Though, I still can not see who would consider purchasing it rather than fifty drones for the same price.
It won’t be for the general public, that’s for sure. It is intended as security for things of great importance. Banks, government buildings and the like.
Ah, I see. You had better hope the higher-ups are willing to spend on it, though.
Just wait and see.
---
You… introduced them? Why? This is highly risky! They could destroy each other!
But they aren’t, are they? Watch them communicate.
I must admit, I was not expecting this.
They are incredible, are they not? They know they’re in the same situation. It wouldn’t be farfetched to think they even recognize their similarities. That is why they don’t fight.
What is the point of this test?
For V1, its general intelligence. For V2, its threat assessment.
I see. I believe there could be… less risky ways to test this.
Even if it is risky, it also relieves our human curiosity, doesn’t it? I’ve wondered for a while how they would react to each other.
Curiosity should not drive any of your scientific actions in the future.
What is science if not the satisfaction of curiosity, the discovery of the extents of both human and machine?
You are right, but the first goal should always be the betterment of mankind.
You have no imagination. Just wait and see.

G/O Media chief executive and parasitic bozo Jim Spanfeller has finally succeeded at something. He managed to find a buyer for Jezebel, the popular feminist publication that he shuttered indefinitely on Nov. 9 after determining that he and his lackeys couldn't align its content with their company's overall business strategy. The New York Times reported Wednesday that Jezebel was purchased Tuesday by the music and entertainment digital magazine Paste, for an undisclosed amount. The deal also includes the transfer of long-defunct politics site Splinter, which was shut down by Spanfeller back in 2019. Paste's plan appears to be to bring Jezebel quickly back into operation—the Times reported that Paste co-founder and editor-in-chief Josh Jackson said the site could resume publishing as soon as Wednesday, which, uh, is either today or one week from today—but Jezebel remains unstaffed after the site's bare-bones crew was laid off en masse when G/O Media abruptly pulled the plug. The Daily Beast reported Wednesday that Jackson is acting fast to staff up the re-homed site, extending offers within hours of completing the deal to "some staffers who lost their jobs when Jezebel was shut down." Jackson reportedly will aim to choose a new editor-in-chief for the site early next week. Jezebel's last editor-in-chief, Laura Bassett, resigned in August amid brutal staffing shortages and the sudden appearance of AI-generated crap across the network of G/O Media properties, and what she described as the company's refusal "to treat my staff with basic human decency." The interim editor-in-chief at the time of Jezebel's shuttering was senior editor Lauren Tousignant, who was also the site's lone full-time editor.

TFWIKI Pics Jan 2023: Grab Bag!
January's Patreon-backed @tfwiki toy picture theme is... three themes. There were a bunch of holes I kinda wanted to fill but none of them were really big enough for their own full update, so like, hey. Mix 'em up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First we have the second round of Beast Wars "Fox Kids!" redecoes, released in 2000 alongside the new Beast Machines toys. The BW show's recent move to the Fox Kids cartoon block really boosted demand for more Transformers product, and Hasbro could only stuff so much into Machines, so Wars got extended another year with these and the Mutants. 1) Transmetal Airazor 2) Transmetal Rattrap 3) Transmetal Rhinox 4) Transmetal Waspinator
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next is a very loose theme of real car models in red. Yeah. Look, I wanted to get new pics of two of these anyway (the first and last) and found two more toys that needed new pics that matched the vague pattern.
Binaltech Meister Velocity Red Mica Edition" is perhaps better known as "Zoom-Zoom", a spare body for Binaltech Jazz equipped with an AI that Jazz is teaching to dance. I love Zoom-Zoom and he should become the new default Jazz-mold redeco.
Kiss Players Hot Rodimus is a redeco of Alternators Mirage, with some added accessories. Not just the figurine of human partner Shaoshao Li, but a 4-part fishing rod that reassembles into an arm-mounted gun like the original Hot Rod's arm-pipe-guns. But it's not very good, it doesn't clip on, just kinda grips.
Alternators Rumble is part of the final wave of Alternators toys, relegated to Walmart exclusivity. He's weird. He's simpler than most Alternators, he doesn't have normal arms, and the spring-loaded piledrivers are all wobbly once deployed. Also, no Takara release.
And then there's Universe Swerve, whose release story is a DOOZY but the short of it is, Chevy commissioned Hasbro/Takara to make an original Chevy Aveo TF mold to use as giveaways at malls and whatnot in 2007, part of the whole movie marketing thing Chevy/Paramount had going on. Which means this mold can NEVER be restored and used again. It's a truly unique piece that I'm super-happy to have.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And we're wrapping up with some pieces from Takara's 2010 Animated line. Said line is most famous for dousing the main cast in super-shiny metallic paint, but most of the toys only got a bit of it. Oil Slick only got bright green paint on his gauntlets and legs, while Blazing Lockdown just got metallic pale-gold flames instead of the Hasbro version's more cartoony yellow-gold.
Optimus Prime Clear Red Ver. is a Toys"R"Us exclusive redeco of the Legends-class Optimus. It's one of Takara's many many many many store promotional items, where you got it free with qualifying purchases on specific dates in specific stores. In this case, 3000 yen's worth of Animated product at TRU, presumably on the first weekend of the toyline's release (haven't found the exact date yet).
Prowl Elite Guard Ver. was exclusive to the 2010 Tokyo Toy Show, which ran from July 15th through the 18th. It's currently unknown what the production run on this one was.
If you like these pictural perusals through Transformers history, why not toss a coin to your pic'er at my Patreon, "gregstfwikipics"? This helps get even more pics out and can even let you pick a theme!

Mech Construction Showcase: King Crab from Battletech
Greetings, Dan Here!
Layout for the standard version of the core rulebook continues steadily. While everyone waits, I thought I might post some devlogs to showcase the variety in the mech construction system by recreating a number of popular mechs from across media. I'll post the sample mech sheets with explanations for how/why I built the mechs the way I did.
The construction system was designed to allow for deep customization while remaining quick and easy to build. Players are asked to prioritize how they want their mech to perform while choosing their mech parts, purchase the statistics of their attacks in weapon construction, and finally, choose individual abilities for the mech through utilities/disposable equipment. Much character creation in Savage Worlds, mech construction determines the capabilities on the mech in game mechanics, while the "skin" or nature of those mechanics are left to the discretion of players. That is how two mechs that are mechanically identical could have completely different appearance or weapon descriptions. (Fortunately, thanks to the number of options during construction it is extremely unlikely two mechs would ever be identical.)
Tumblr media
To kick off this demonstration I have built the King Crab from the Battletech franchise. This is distinctly a later campaign, or "high level" mech build as befitting my favorite assault mech. For those not familiar, the King Crab is a massive beast of a mech that can sheer through enemies on the battlefield like a reaper with a scythe by using overpowered weaponry. Naturally as an assault mech, it sports a ridiculous amount of armor, reflected here in primary parts with a Sakura Industries Frame giving it 48 Armor Points. Unfortunately, the trade off for this super-heavy, is that it's, well, heavy. The King Crab stomps its way slowly across the battlefield, here with Caballero Corp Boosters, and the Movement Rating of 1.  Fortunately, to compensate for this slow speed, the crustacean monarch has many powerful weapons. This is supported by the Blitz Tech CPU giving it two utility systems that can be installed. In this case, we installed two Heat Sinks, adding +2 Heat Rating each on top of the Sakura Industries Radiator with it's 14 HR. This brings the King Crabs total HR to 18.
That Heat Rating score is poured into two weapon systems, the first, is the assault mech's iconic, massive, ballistic autocannons contain within a pair of claw-like shields which can double as melee weapons. These Autocannon Claws as described here, deal a d12 of damage per attack, and was given a Rate of Fire of 2, allowing each claw to fire once on an attack action. The ranges of which are for far and sniping, but melee has also been purchased so that the claw shields can be used to bludgeon opponents as well. While the available ammo for these cannons is low, having being able to melee with them will allow the mech to continue to attack with them, albeit with reduced damage, even after all ammo is expended. To help, the weapon's optimization was put into ammunition to grant one extra ammo just in case. Since this is a high level mech a couple of weapon mods have been installed as well. Irradiated Ammo will allow for additional damage against enemy mechs, while the Targeting AI will grant a bonus to hit with this weapon.
The second weapon to cover the range gap between melee and far, is the Large Laser. While it fires less, and for less damage, it has more ammo to compensate. In addition, the weapons mod, Explosive Ammunition gives it the opportunity to deal damage again if the d4 damage dice ever rolls a 4. Something that is more likely to occur with weapons using lower damage dice levels.
Now the King Crab is also known for sporting Long Range Missiles. While this could technically be achieved by installing more Heat Sinks, or perhaps a Heavy Weapons Mode Converter for utility systems, instead, two disposable Rocket Decks were instead purchased here to serve the same purpose as needed. Lastly, to help with the ammo situation, (and to scare any unsuspecting opponent), the King Crab is equipped with a disposable Ammo Hopper, containing a full refill on ammunition for one weapon. While I did not specify which in the character sheet, I think enemies would be more frightened were it a refill on the autocannons.
While this was a high end built, a similar approximation of these same qualities could be achieved by players at start. Naturally, not every option would be filled in for the player's first mission, but a mech could certainly be built that would still feel similar to the King Crab even with starting equipment. To help demonstrate, the next devlop sample mech I'll build is the fantasy mech, the Escaflowne.
Thank you once more for your interest in BTE, and I'll see you then!

Monster at Play
AN: If I’m still awake, it still counts as the same day. I had trouble settling on today’s prompt, but I’m glad I stuck with what I did. The plant monster is an underrated part of wolf 359 & this totally happened in canon, just trust me on this one
If Renee Minkowski set her mind to something, she wouldn't stop until she achieved her goal. That's why she was going back in the ducts to hunt down the plant monster once and for all.
She knew it was benevolent, but that didn't mean she wanted it running amuck on her ship, stealing tools and what not. It needed to be detained, or come to some kind of agreement if it was intelligent enough.
She was crawling through the vents grumbling to herself, cursing the stupid mutant plant. That's when  she felt a vine wrap around her ankle and tug. She yelped, grabbing onto the sides of the vent. She didn't have much purchase on the smooth metal and was tugged back deeper in the vents.
"Hey! Let go!" she yelled, kicking at it with her other leg. It grabbed that ankle too, dragging her deeper into the bowels of the ship. She screamed out for help, hoping one of her crew mates would come to her rescue, but unsure if they could even hear her.
Thin vines slipped inside her shoes, eliciting a surprised giggle. She scrunched her feet, kicking as much as she could to force them out. A loud squeal rang through the air when they slipped inside her socks, writhing against her soles and between her toes.
"Fuhuhuck ohohoff! W-whahahat doho you wahahant?" she growled through her laughter. As if in answer to her question, the plant monster drug her to a closed off room in the middle of the ship. She froze when she saw the plant monster looming over her. It was a large Venus flytrap type of plant and looked eerily similar to Audrey II from Little Shop. The theatre nerd in her was amazed that something so fantastical could actually exist, but the sensible part of her brain told her she needed to get the hell out of dodge.
Her pulse was racing as the green tendrils pulled her closer to the mouth of the beast.
"No! Bad plant, bad!" she yelled, fighting back as much as she could. Her efforts slowed as it drew her closer and she saw how it was almost smiling down at her. Weird.
"Look, I-I don't know if you can't understand me or what, but consider this a warning! As commander of this ship, I order you to leave us alohohone!" Her demand melted into a giggly plea as more vines wrapped around her, prodding her belly, sides and thighs. Two more wrapped around her wrists and stretched her out on the ground. Despite her best efforts, she was thoroughly trapped until the monster got bored or decided to show mercy.
"Hehehera cahahan you hehehear mehehe?" she called out to the AI. Her confused, tentative voice answered.
"Um, yeah I can hear you. Are you... okay? You look like you're really struggling but you're laughing an awful lot so like, I'm getting mixed signals."
Minkowski blushed and rolled onto her side. "Hehehera get Eihihihiffel!"
"Sure thing Commander!" she chirped, and just like that, she was alone with the plant monster once more.
It made a rumbling, almost purring noise as it shuffled closer, leaning down to inspect its prey. Minkowski breathed heavily, attempting to crawl away. It reached towards her with a large leaf and she winced, bracing herself for the worst. She was surprised when instead it patted her head as if she were a dog.
"What?" she asked, more so voicing her disbelief than actually trying to ask it a question. It cocked its head to show it was listening, much to her dismay. So she went out on a limb.
"Are- are you nice? What's your deal?" she asked between panting for breath. It looked at her and shrugged with two vines. She rolled her eyes with a huff, prompting it to wiggle a soft vine under her arm. She barked out a laugh, tugging on her trapped arm.
"Ihihi dohon't know whahat you wahahant!"
The plant monster didn't seem to care about the torture it was putting her through. Minkowski would say it went on for an hour. In actuality it was closer to ten minutes.
When it finally released her, it tapped its large leaves against the ground, making a noise akin to a fucking chuckle. She stared on in disbelief as she caught her breath.
"Are you just bored?" It nodded after a moment. She sighed, flopping her head back against the floor. "We all are buddy. But you can't be doing this anymore, okay? This is a one time deal," she said sternly. It stared at her blankly, or she assumed it did, seeing as it had no eyes. "I'll see about getting you some toys or something if your own to play with so you'll leave us alone. That sound good?" It made a gurgling sound in return, and she assumed that was good.
When she finally made it back to her quarters, Eiffel met her in the hall. He seemed nervous, but was relieved when he saw her walk up.
"Commander! There you are! We've been worried sick, are you alright?" he asked, scanning her up and down to make sure she was okay.
"Yeah, no thanks to you! I told Hera to tell you to get your ass down there! What happened?" she snapped, shoving him in the chest. He stumbled back, wrapping his arms around himself defensively.
"Well it sounded like you weren't in any real danger. And I'm a little claustrophobic and the only way there was through the vents, and honestly when Hera explained the situation, Hilbert and I really didn't wanna get involved, so we uh, decided to, um, let you ride this one out?" he trailed off, voice getting higher pitched the longer he spoke in classic Eiffel fashion.
Her jaw dropped and she slugged him on the arm, eliciting a short cry of pain. "Assholes! So you both knew and neither of you decided to fucking help?" she snapped.
"Ow! Hey, we weighed the pros and cons, and took a vote. And Hera said she'd tell us if you were in any real danger, so we were on standby!" he explained his side of the story. She didn't care to hear it.
"Oh whatever. You're lucky I don't feed you both to the plant monster," she threatened, shoving her way past him.
"All that and you didn't even give him a name?" Eiffel called out teasingly. Minkowski froze, slowly turning to look  at him. He realized his mistake and took off down the hall, Minkowski hot on his heels. It wasn't long before more laughter filled the air.

I made an AI write a review for a book about Joe Biden's history as a male stripper
Joe Biden's career as a male stripper will now get its own book. Advertisement Via News.com.au:
American publisher St Martin's Press has acquired the rights to Sex, God, Guns & Jesus, the book that details Vice President Joe Biden's career as a male exotic dancer in the 1980s. The book was released in August by Simon and Schuster and sold 32,000 copies and earned glowing reviews from most of the media. Biden wrote the book with his son Hunter, which the New York Times called an "unrelentingly upbeat" look at his time as a Delaware senator and then White House staffer. For obvious reasons, the Daily Beast had some thoughts on Biden being portrayed as the patron saint of chastity, and whether that was really necessary: No matter how much the vice president insists he is no longer pursuing a political career, or how quickly he claims to have moved on from the bar, there's a lot of lingering questions that linger in the bookshelves and blogs, waiting to be answered:
Over the past few months, rumors have swirled that Hunter Biden might be the only person who knows how a son of a single, childless politician could find himself involved with someone much older, in a relationship that has its fair share of "will they, won't they" chemistry, and which is currently going through its share of growing pains and minor blow ups. Will the relationship ever lead to marriage? Will the younger Biden ever choose a career other than politics? After the relationship between Biden and Jill Smyth broke up in 2012, it seems like these were some of the questions that needed to be answered. Now, though, the book will be released in November.

As for who's really gonna want to read that one, I'm not sure. But hey, what do I know?
Update 1:11 p.m. EDT: St Martin's Press has released a statement on their blog explaining their decision:
Advertisement Advertisement
The publisher has acquired the book for its "non-fiction fiction and biography divisions." President of St Martin's Press, Rick Galen, said in the statement, "Joe Biden's career as a male exotic dancer will now have a new chapter, and we are proud to publish it." While we have editorial processes in place to ensure that no skeletons in a politician's closet remain undiscovered, we respect the choice of the Vice President and hope this decision will enable him to avoid further speculation and focus on the important matters before Congress. The statement did not reference or acknowledge the troubling assertions by the book's author that Joe Biden was known as "Crazy Joe" and was given the nickname "Fart to understand" by his partners. Meanwhile, those claiming that Joe Biden was a "strip club guy" in the 1980s can celebrate the fact that their wish has finally been granted.

UPDATE 2:29 p.m. EDT: Time has reached out to St. Martin's Press for comment on whether the book will include any false allegations or have any proven false statements. So far, no response has been provided. Additional reporting by Charlie Jane Anders. UPDATE 2:32 p.m. EDT:

Joe Biden is finally out of office. But this evening, reports claim that an anonymous White House insider has claimed that Joe Biden is "secretly considering" a 2020 presidential run. UPDATE 2:36 p.m. EDT:

In a new statement, St. Martin's Press addresses the claims that it "extracted Biden from a solemn promise to his late son" and distanced itself from the book. Here's the statement: We are unaware of any current plans to publish this book. However, it was not published or purchased by the publisher. It is a hoax. Joe Biden did not publish this book, did not purchase it, and has no involvement in it. We take our legal obligations seriously and have conducted a thorough investigation into the matter. Any attempts to deceive the publisher will be met with legal action. That said, the publisher did not respond to our requests for comment on whether they were aware that the book was billed as "true to the few confidential experiences that Biden shares with others" (note: this does not count sexual encounters with prostitutes), or whether they were aware that the book contained fabricated statements from the family of former vice president Walter Mondale.

PREVIOUSLY: As the internet waits with bated breath for Joe Biden to confirm the rumor that he's running for president in 2020, we've gone back to 1988 to look at the seven best lies Joe Biden has ever told. After a 40 year career in politics, the former Vice President Joe Biden announced today that he will not run for president. Joe Biden has spent his career telling lies, but now, at 74, he says he's ready to be President of the United States. If only it was that easy. After his wife of 46 years, Dr. Jill Biden, who has decided not to run, he has two small children and two teenage grandchildren. He's also an accomplished novelist. After spending the last 6 years being treated for cancer, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Many things have changed in the last 6 years, but Joe Biden has refused to change much at all.
But this isn't the first time Biden has lied. In fact, it's his nature to tell little white lies here and there. In an interview with Peter Alexander on NBC News he told a whole bunch of lies. Here are the seven best: 1. "I Will Be President" While on the 2008 campaign trail, a young college student asked Joe Biden if he was serious about running for president. Biden responded with a simple "yes." He then added, "I will be president." While it's not unusual for politicians to campaign with an assumption that they'll be running, the phrasing was very sloppy. In reality, after the initial question, Biden thought, "Okay, now that I've got that out of the way...a lot of stuff has happened." Then he added, "I have every intention of being president, but I'll take that one step at a time. Just check." So don't feel too bad for this kid. His question got a straight answer. He just didn't get one that he wanted.
2. The "One Woman Man, Full Time" Lie When a woman claimed that Joe Biden made a pass at her in the 1980s, he denied it. According to GQ's Grantland: When Biden heard that an unnamed woman had accused him of having made a pass at her in the 1980s, he's admitted that he knew he didn't do it, and did something that we all know is Joe Biden's M.O.: He lied. In an exchange that was partially leaked to the media, then-Rep. Patrick Murphy asked Biden, "Did you make a pass at me when you were my age?" Biden answered, "I don't remember any of those things happening." The comment was designed to make it clear that the encounter was unimpressive, and that it wasn't a "real assault" by the standards of the American political world, at least. When pressed further, he said, "I'm not sure if I would characterize it that way. It was — no."

Review of Werewolf by Night
I just saw the Marvel / Disney+ “Special” Werewolf by Night.   It was very good.  I liked it.   I will pick apart some things, particularly about Disney / Marvel policies, but know that in general I did love this Special (as they called it).
Most of it was shot in black and white and it has very good atmosphere and ambiance.  It does feel like an old Universal or even Hammer (though those were usually in color) monster movie.
It is good to see the MCU (Marvel cinematic Universe) finally tap into its Gothic properties.  This was the first time I had seen the character of Jack Russell (Yes, that’s really his name but they never say the last name in the special) in something other than animation.  It was also good to see a depiction of Man-Thing that wasn’t in a low budget schlock film that technically counted as a Syfy Original movie.
I wish Marvel would use its supernatural / Gothic properties more than just around the Halloween season.  As someone who loves Gothic Horror this is what turned me off of Marvel in recent years, the way they downplay their supernatural and Gothic properties in favor of scifi.  Even the director of Doctor Strange (Who is supposed to be the Sorcerer Supreme) patted himself on the back about how everything in the movie could be explained with theoretical physics.  If you want real elemental magick you have to hunt down the animated Doctor Strange movie from 2007, actually titled Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme. You may notice that was before Disney purchased Marvel.  It was after Disney purchased Marvel that they started to heavily downplay the supernatural content. This was both to appeal to the Chinese market (who don’t like Western depictions of the supernatural) and to differentiate Marvel from Disney proper.  Disney would have the magick while Marvel would be (as they intended) superheroes only.
I feel that if this had been just twenty or so minutes longer it could have been released theatrically however Disney is still obsessed with getting that coveted Chinese market and China will not allow “Western depictions” of the afterlife.  i.e. Ghosts and things they consider occult (Though they allow the Fantastic Beasts franchise through...)  The Chinese market has hindered supernatural horror here in the US for years. It’s why so few movies with supernatural content have large budgets.  Most are made on a shoe string budget so that it doesn’t matter if it’s released in China or not to earn a substantial profit.  It’s also why films like the Child’s play reboot went with an evil / malfunctioning AI instead of a possessed doll. Same with the movie M3gan.
Don’t let them trick you into thinking modern horror audiences don’t like supernatural content, or think it’s silly, or not scary. No.  That’s not the reason.  Real horror fans still love the supernatural.  There’s nothing quite as scary as the unknown.  And evil artificial intelligences have been done to death since the 60s.
The cynic in me feels that the gimmick of making it look like it was made in the 1930s had a secondary purpose of showing blood that was not red- and thus bypassing regulations that would have gotten the “special” an MA TV rating (The TV equivalent of an R rating).
When I was a teenager I loved Marvel’s horror properties.  Tomb of Dracula, Werewolf by Night, Legion of Monsters, etc..  But by the twenty teens it was as if Marvel was shying away from the supernatural, even in their comic books.  The only good vampire story they did in years was Avengers: Vampire Wars in 2019. And that was barely promoted.  Most people didn’t even know the story arc happened.
The plot of werewolf by Night is Ulysses Bloodstone has just passed away, the Patriarch of the Bloodstone family and a secret cult of monster hunters. You can tell right away from the dialogue that these aren’t like Doctor Abraham Van Helsing trying to protect the world from evil.  No.  These are paranoid and self-righteous fanatics with a blood lust, looking for the freedom to kill anything they deem non-human.  The only one that might be different from the rest of this sect is Elsa Bloodstone.
In the comics of the 2000s Elsa felt like a little bit of a knock-off of Buffy The Vampire Slayer but I think enough time has passed and they made enough tweaks to the character that this version stood on her own without anyone thinking of Buffy.  Unfortunately now there might be comparisons to Syfy’s Van (Vanessa) Helsing.  One day I’d love to see a woman vampire hunter in the style of Peter Cushing’s Dr. Van Helsing.  An older woman at least in her fifties, and perhaps dressed like a Victorian era man instead of in tight leather, as female vampire hunters have been forced into in pop culture since the 90s.
This gathering of monster hunters had a competition in mind, hosted by Ulysses widow (Elsa’s stepmother). They are allowed to kill each other in the process.  The contest is to find and kill a monster, which they have attached the bloodstone amulet.  The amulet grants near-immortality to its wearer, as well as enhanced strength and stamina and can weaken supernatural entities.  “Monsters” (beings of the supernatural) cannot touch the bloodstone without being hurt.
A man is there who appears to be after the prize. This is Jack (Werewolf by Night).  He’s actually there to rescue Man-Thing.  If you’re not familiar with Man-Thing, he’s pretty much Marvel’s version of Swamp Thing only mute and his touch can burn and kill you if you are afraid.  If you are not afraid his touch will not harm you.  In this story Man-Thing answers to his previous human name of “Ted” much like how sometimes Swamp Thing answers to Alec.
Trivia:  The creator of Man-Thing was roommates with the creator of Swamp Thing so it’s unclear which came up with the idea first.
Elsa learns the important lesson that not all monsters are evil as she helps Jack and later both Jack and Ted help her.  Needless to say the other hunters (and her stepmother) end up dead and Elsa inherits The Bloodstone amulet.
My one big complaint was something that I thought as clever at first. They made the body of Ulysses Bloodstone look like the literary Frankenstein Monster as illustrated by Marvel comics own “Monster of Frankenstein.”  In the teaser I almost thought it would be the Frankenstein Monster, who used to be portrayed as intelligent and articulate in Marvel comics and went by the name Adam... until they started to let people who never read Mary Shelley’s original novel write the character... Then he was portrayed as simple-minded like in some cliché horror movies.
The reason Ulysses resembling the literary Frankenstein bothers me is this homage indicates that Marvel has no intention of ever using their version of Adam Frankenstein with the literary look. And that’s a shame. They had one of the best versions of the Frankenstein Monster.  He was even good in the kid friendly game Superhero Squad Online.
This felt almost like a TV pilot so I hope Werewolf by Night or Elsa Bloodstone end up with their own TV series as a result.  The story appeared to be set in the 1930s.  It would be nice if Marvel actually allowed some of its characters to be immortal. In the original Wolfman movies, Larry Talbot was immortal. DC doesn’t shy away from its supernatural properties or immortal characters. (See Lucifer, Doom Patrol, The Sandman, and Dead Boy Detectives).
They also implied that usually Jack only changes form during the full moon like in The Wolf-Man, which is ironic because when someone wanted to do a Werewolf by Night movie in the 90s, Stan Lee cynically suggested that they use any werewolf, that they didn’t need to waste money by using Marvel’s. Stan Lee had implied that Jack was so under-developed that there was nothing special to him.  I don’t think Stan Lee was that fond of the Marvel horror properties even though Tomb of Dracula is considered a classic now.
Back when I was reading Werewolf by Night comics Jack was changing whenever emotional or he could shift at will, a bit like The Hulk.   I guess someone didn’t want any “confusion.” I hate idiot proofing. Idiot Proofing is the impolite term for when Hollywood over-simplifies things because they underestimate the audience’s ability to follow the story.
I would like to see Marvel brave enough to use characters like these in the “Off season” that is to say outside of just around Halloween.  It would show that they have faith in the property as being able to stand on its own and not just as a Halloween gimmick.  I had forgotten how much I had loved Marvel’s Gothic properties and there certainly was good ambiance with this, even if it was a bit predictable.  But sometimes predictable is good.  There’s an entire generation that doesn’t know these tropes and never watched the classic monster movies so this could be a gateway for them to get into traditional Gothic Horror.

SingularityNET bets on supercomputer network to deliver AGI

SingularityNET bets on supercomputer network to deliver AGI
.pp-multiple-authors-boxes-wrapper display:none; img width:100%;
SingularityNET is betting on a network of powerful supercomputers to get us to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), with the first one set to whir into action this September.
While today’s AI excels in specific areas – think GPT-4 composing poetry or DeepMind’s AlphaFold predicting protein structures – it’s still miles away from genuine human-like intelligence.
“While the novel neural-symbolic AI approaches developed by the SingularityNET AI team decrease the need for data, processing and energy somewhat relative to standard deep neural nets, we still need significant supercomputing facilities,” SingularityNET CEO Ben Goertzel explained to LiveScience in a recent written statement.
Enter SingularityNET’s ambitious plan: a “multi-level cognitive computing network” designed to host and train the incredibly complex AI architectures required for AGI. Imagine deep neural networks that mimic the human brain, vast language models (LLMs) trained on colossal datasets, and systems that seamlessly weave together human behaviours like speech and movement with multimedia outputs.
But this level of sophistication doesn’t come cheap. The first supercomputer, slated for completion by early 2025, will be a Frankensteinian beast of cutting-edge hardware: Nvidia GPUs, AMD processors, Tenstorrent server racks – you name it, it’s in there.
Our new #AGI Supercomputer will start to come online in September and the first phase will be completed by the end of 2024 or early 2025, depending on supplier delivery timelines — Via @LiveScience https://t.co/SegFiMR9II
— SingularityNET (@SingularityNET) August 10, 2024
This, Goertzel believes, is more than just a technological leap, it’s a philosophical one: “Before our eyes, a paradigmatic shift is taking place towards continuous learning, seamless generalisation, and reflexive AI self-modification.”
To manage this distributed network and its precious data, SingularityNET has developed OpenCog Hyperon, an open-source software framework specifically designed for AI systems. Think of it as the conductor trying to make sense of a symphony played across multiple concert halls.
But SingularityNET isn’t keeping all this brainpower to itself. Reminiscent of arcade tokens, users will purchase access to the supercomputer network with the AGIX token on blockchains like Ethereum and Cardano and contribute data to the collective pool—fuelling further AGI development.
With experts like DeepMind’s Shane Legg predicting human-level AI by 2028, the race is on. Only time will tell if this global network of silicon brains will birth the next great leap in artificial intelligence.

PromptSiteZ Review: My Recommendation
PromptSiteZ offers an intriguing solution for beginners or those seeking a quick entry point into the AI prompt market. The pre-built prompts and user-friendly interface can be a starting point. However, the potential limitations in customization, AI-generated content quality, and market saturation require careful consideration. Weighing the pros and cons alongside exploring alternative solutions like self-built stores or existing marketplaces will help you make an informed decision. Ultimately, the success of your AI prompt venture hinges not just on the software, but on your marketing efforts and the quality of the prompts you offer.

Saturday Morning Coffee
Good morning from Charlottesville, Virginia! ☕️
Tumblr media
We had a lot of fun this week tracking down a bug in the project I’m working on. It was exposed by slow server response, which was because the service had grown. So the bug was icky. Once we tracked it down on the client side we were able to fix it up pretty quickly. I love doing stuff like this! Finding and fixing bugs is part of any developers job along with writing code.
I hope you enjoy the links.

Documentary filmmaker Ken Burns' rare warning during a commencement speech about former President Donald Trump, sparked outrage from supporters of Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement this weekend.
People are right to continue to warn us all of the dangers of electing Convicted Felon Donald J. Trump to the Presidency.
Anyone who reads this site — thanks to both of you — knows I’m a Liberal Democrat suffering from “The Woke Mind Virus.” 😃 So of course I think a man set on destroying Democracy as we know it is dangerous.

Now, former board member Helen Toner is explaining her decision. In a new podcast interview, the artificial intelligence researcher blasted Altman’s lack of transparency and said the board was kept in the dark about key decisions. She accused Altman of “withholding information, misrepresenting things that were happening in the company, [and] in some cases outright lying to the board.”
AI will continue to be controversial and it looks like Sam Altman will be the poster boy for the controversy, at least in the short term.
Keeping a full commercial product rollout from the board seems like a bad idea, doesn’t it? No wonder they fired him.

Popular TechTuber Jeff Geerling has delivered an updated take on the old chestnut about the relative merits of pigeon-based vs internet data transfers.
TL;DR - Data delivery by pigeon is still faster than the internet. 🤣

In a joint statement issued Tuesday, Tony Stewart and Gene Haas confirmed that Stewart-Haas Racing will cease NASCAR operations at season’s end.
This is a real bummer for NASCAR fans and the sport in general. Stewart Haas had a championship team not so long ago but it’s been a long time since they’ve seen victory lane.
They have four cars on the grid. Three teams field four drivers and it’s my understanding NASCAR is going to limit team size to three going forward.
In 2016 NASCAR switched to a Charter system. In that system teams purchase a charter from NASCAR to be part of the system. Those charters are expected to grow in value so a team would have more than physical goods to sale should they decide to close shop. They’re not cheap. Spire Motorsports bought one last year for $40mm. What will each Stewart Haas charter sell for? 😳

Writing an NVMe Driver in Rust
The link above is to a PDF for Thomas Pirhonen’s Bachelors Thesis. Rust has really made inroads into systems development and I’m happy to see it. Having memory safe code at the systems level seems like a smart thing to do, don’t you think? 😃
I’d be curious to see how much unsafe code exists in the various Rust OS level projects I’ve heard of. But, you gotta start somewhere!
When will Swift be used to build major parts of Apple’s OS level code? Or is it already being used?

I’ve long had a longing to have a Mac Mini as build server in my technics room. After Apple finally updated it to (now) fashionable space grey, it was a must purchase for my company.
I’ve had a hankering to do this very thing. I can see setting up the server much in the way we see here and trigger builds via GitHub Actions to start the process. Heck, I could use Xcode’s built in support for automating builds and kick it off right from within Xcode on my laptop. Yeah, Xcode has a decent enough build system to make it useful. Makes me wonder how much of it Apple is using for Xcode Cloud or is 100% of that custom code?

If you work with sensitive data, and want to be 100% sure that there is no trace of the old data after it has been updated or deleted — SQLite has you covered. The secure_delete pragma (off by default) causes SQLite to overwrite deleted content with zeros.
TIL! I’ve used SQLite in quite a few projects, including Stream. I love it for local storage and still prefer it to CoreData, it’s just straightforward SQL. Anywho, I had no idea you could do this. Another nice tool to keep in the toolbox.

Doctor Who returned to TV recently as a “soft reboot” to attract a new generation of viewers. Yeah, okay, but the older generations didn’t exactly go away, and since I am a member of an older generation, I am qualified to say that the show sucks.
I think we’ve all been here when we see a big change to our favorite Television show.
Heck, I’m torn about continuing to watch The Witcher. Henry Cavil is The Witcher and to see him replaced just feels wrong.

Two years ago when “Michael,” an owner of cryptocurrency, contacted Joe Grand to help recover access to about $2 million worth of bitcoin he stored in encrypted format on his computer, Grand turned him down.

My Home Server Journey - From Raspberry Pi to Ryzen
What’s up with two server based links today? Guess I’m just in a very hardware mood today.
This reminds me I need to setup my $99 Mac Mini I purchased months ago. It’s an x86 based Mini and fairly old but I want it for media streaming and another local backup system.

Those who miss the days of full-time Apple/Microsoft beef will have been heartened last week by bold claims that the latest Surface devices are faster than the M3 MacBook Air. It’s fun to see Microsoft’s marketing department in a combative mood, but part of me wishes the company would stop trying so hard to show it’s better than Apple.
I don’t know that I’d go this far. Microsoft is just trying to lead the industry into an ARM focused world by attempting to create a new standard of PC.
I’ve been on the Mac, almost exclusively, since around 2006(?) and I love the experience from a user and developer point of view.
There’s still that part of me that loves my old development days on Windows. It was also a great platform to build on.
The new Microsoft Surface Pro looks absolutely amazing and I’ve lusted for one of these computers for years. Microsoft has proven for years and years a tablet/laptop can have excellent touch support and a full desktop class OS underpinning it.
It’s only a matter of time before Apple does it. When it happens all doubt around Apple creating a convertible will disappear and folks will think it’s the greatest thing ever.

Each quarter at the University of Chicago includes nine weeks of instruction. In the eighth week, I ask students to submit questions that they would like our ninth and final session to cover. This quarter, a third of the students in the class submitted some version of the question: “How can I use ChatGPT to get ahead in my programming job?”
I know of a lot of developers at work using ChatGPT to their advantage. It’s not that it’s doing their job, no, it’s just another tool to get started with a thought.
Jordan Tigani
The intended takeaway from the “Big Data is coming” chart was that pretty soon, everyone will be inundated by their data. Ten years in, that future just hasn’t materialized. We can validate this several ways: looking at data (quantitatively), asking people if it is consistent with their experience (qualitatively), and thinking it through from first principles (inductively).
I’m not really into backend stuff like this. It seems kind of boring but it’s good to know some folks are really into it.
Declaring something dead is a bit strange to me, because it was never a living thing, but I get the gist.
I’m sure your mileage will vary but this is a small piece worth a read just to understand his declaration.
BigData, it turns out, ain’t all that big.

Lenovo Thinkpad Z16 Gen 2 Reveals Power and Style
Tumblr media
Lenovo Thinkpad Z16 Gen 2
Lenovo Thinkpad Z16 AMD
The AMD-powered ThinkPad Z16 boasts a stunning chassis, a 400-nit IPS display with full sRGB colour space coverage, and a respectable amount of RAM. The ThinkPad Z16 also comes with a decent quantity of memory. There is a case to be made for looking at the 16-inch Lenovo laptop, which is currently 74% off the official list price.
Some computers, like the comparatively obscure ThinkPad Z16, are also excellent choices for consumers who prioritise multimedia applications. This is true even though business and enthusiast users who place a high value on durable notebooks purchase the majority of Lenovo ThinkPad laptops.
Lenovo Thinkpad Z16 price
For just $749 (free shipping included), you can now get the original ThinkPad Z16 with the AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 6850H and Radeon RX 6500M graphics card with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM on eBay. This is 74% cheaper than Lenovo’s $2,169 MSRP.
Lenovo Thinkpad Z16
The 16-inch business laptop has 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM. Prospective buyers should be advised, though, that the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16’s memory is soldered, meaning that once the purchase is made, it cannot be upgraded.
The Lenovo laptop displayed a number of additional strengths and weaknesses, all of which are thoroughly discussed in their comprehensive written test of the ThinkPad Z16 as well as the corresponding video review that can be found on YouTube.
This is the only obvious drawback that the Lenovo laptop also displayed. The input devices and the well-made chassis of the notebook were both enjoyable to us, despite the fact that we experienced some problems with the device randomly restarting.
In addition, they lauded the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 Gen 1 for its respectable webcam, speakers, and lasting battery life. The demands of the majority of multimedia users will also be satisfied by the Full-HD IPS display, which has a brightness of up to 400 nits and full sRGB colour support.
Taking into account the extremely reasonable price point, the AMD Ryzen PRO is unquestionably a product that should be taken into consideration by laptop purchasers who are looking for a Lenovo notebook that possesses a satisfactory screen and performance.
Features Lenovo ThinkPad Z16
Redefines what a “powerhouse”
The Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 laptop has powerful AMD Ryzen PRO 7040 H Series mobile processors. Plus, there’s not much this machine can’t do with the option of discrete or higher-end integrated graphics. Savour their greatest videoconferencing, audio enhancements powered by AI, and amazing battery life. When paired with the incredibly responsive Windows 11 Pro option, this beast completes tasks at breakneck speed.
Protection just like you
Every ThinkPad laptop includes ThinkShield, a business security suite. The Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2 laptop has biometric security features like a fingerprint reader and facial recognition software that lets you log in with a smile using an infrared (IR) camera. Your entire system memory is kept secure with AMD Memory Guard. Additionally, an F9 key-controlled electronic shutter ensures your privacy by turning off the camera when you want it to.
Feel good, look good
The environmentally conscious Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2, a laptop that feels as good as it looks, shows off your dedication to the environment. Its exterior features a glass haptic trackpad and a sleek Arctic Grey recycled-aluminum chassis. Components made of post-consumer recycled plastics are found inside, and low-temp soldering is used during manufacturing to minimise emissions and the product’s carbon footprint.
The packaging is made entirely of bamboo-sugarcane fibre, which is 100% compostable and rapidly renewable. It is completely plastic-free. It is also, of course, ENERGY STAR certified.
Makes virtual conferences a dream
The Communications Bar is located front and centre on the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2 laptop. It has an excellent infrared camera with full HD resolution, as well as AI-powered noise-cancelling microphones with Dolby Voice and customisable settings. Savour the high-fidelity sound produced by the user-facing Dolby Atmos speakers.
Even an e-shutter key is available for instantaneous camera shut-off. With its improved audio-video, this gadget is a real collaboration tool. One that delivers the next best thing or possibly the best thing should working remotely keep you from being in the same room as your team.
Consider dependability
For their ThinkPad laptops, they meticulously balance affordability and robustness by adhering to the MIL-STD 810H standards set forth by the US Department of Defence. They ensure their function in harsh environments by testing against 26 procedures, 12 military-grade standards, and more than 200 quality checks. These tests cover harsh environmental variables, such as temperature, pressure, humidity, vibration testing, and more, from the Arctic wilderness to desert dust storms.
Feel the “Wow!” moment
The Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2 laptop has an excellent ThinkPad keyboard, which is well-known for being comfortable to type on. It features an easy-to-navigate glass haptic trackpad that feels smooth to the touch. Better yet is the dual-purpose TrackPoint, their cherished red dot that can be used to open the TrackPoint Quick Menu settings or as a mouse. To quickly access camera and microphone optimisation, just double-tap. Even a Dictation Toolbar is included for convenient speech-to-text transcription. That’s good for taking notes, huh?
Regardless of your perspective
It makes sense that the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2 laptop has a premium WQUXGA OLED panel among its selection of displays given the amount of thought that went into it. A 16-inch touchscreen with 100% colour gamut, Dolby Vision, and rich details will delight you. This screen is particularly helpful for work where every pixel matters. Alternatively, choose the WUXGA, which has an impressive design and a choice of touchscreen, for a more power-efficient, low-power display. Low blue-light technology is used in all of the options to help avoid eye fatigue.
