Shadow Mewtwo is in raids this weekend with a chance of nabbing a shiny. Spent all week stock piling purified gems and building a team of hench as fuck Pokémon to kick its ass.
Anyone else out there raiding?
Here’s a bit of fanart I did to celebrate the occasion. A shiny Shadow Mewtwo.
May22 at 10am to May28 at 8pm, local time. These can not be accessed using Remote Raid passes. (Of course. 😒)
Five-star Shadow Raids from May 27 at 10am to May28 at 8pm, local time. Can be shiny.
The following Pokémon will be the first to appear in Shadow Raids! Gyms not under Team GO Rocket control may still host other raids. 1⭐: Shadow Machop, Poliwag, Bellsprout, and Beldum. 3⭐: Quilava, Bayleaf, Croconaw, Sneasel. 5⭐:Mewtwo. 3⭐ and 5⭐ Shadow Raid Bosses will grow enraged as you battle them, boosting their attack and defense.
You can subdue Shadow Raid Bosses using Purified Gems, a new item that can be assembled from Shadow Shards, mysterious gem pieces that may be dropped by Team GO Rocket. Gather enough shards to use Professor Willow’s newly invented Shard Refiner, and you’ll be rewarded with a Purified Gem. There are multiple ways Purified Gems can assist your battle against enraged Shadow Raid Bosses. When you use a Purified Gem during a Shadow Raid, the enraged Shadow Raid Boss’s attack and defense will be lowered temporarily. You and your fellow Trainers can use more than one Purified Gem during a Shadow Raid. If used at the same time, their effects will stack. If enough Purified Gems are used, the enraged Shadow Raid Boss will be returned to its non-enraged state.
Regular non-Shadow Raids will host: 1⭐Marill, Clefairy, Tentacool, Skrelp, Popplio. 3⭐ Magneton, Lapras, Mawile, and Empoleon. 5⭐ are Regigigas and Tapu Fini. Mega Raids are Mega Pinsir and Altaria.
From May22 at 10am to May28 at 8pm, local time, a majority of Gyms will host Shadow Raids. From 10am to 8pm on Saturday, May27, Team GO Rocket activity will spike, taking over all raids.
Wild encounters are Ekans, Golbat, Koffing, Houndour, Poochyena, Stinky, and Skorupi. Rare encounters are Hisuian Qwilfish and Scraggy.
Event bonuses are Team Rocket appearing more at Pokestops and in Balloons.
Field Research focused on defeating Team GO Rocket and catching Pokémon will be available! Trainers can earn a Mysterious Component and Stardust as rewards.
A new avatar pose will be available from the shop:
The Let's GO Special Research that rewards a Master Ball will begin, and can be claimed until Jun1.
They aren't just datamine news now! Shadow Raids have officially been announced for Pokemon GO!
Feature highlights:
Shadow Raids are their own TYPE of raid with their own tiers (T1, T3, T5)
They are in-person only raids.
Shadow Raids use a new battle mechanic that uses new items called Shadow Shards and Purified Gems. T3 and T5 Shadow Raids bosses will grow enraged (increasing their attack and defense) during the battle and will need to be subdued using Purified Gems to bring them back to normal stats.
Honestly not a bad employee turnout on a holiday weekend for an optional team building event.* I bet Giovanni's got like a thousand "#1 Boss" mugs back in his office.
*Based on the assumption that if Giovanni were to force employees to attend his Shadow Raid, he'd force enough of them to fill all the seats.
So between having to work until 3 pm on both Saturday and today, and today being Easter, I only managed to do two shadow Mewtwo raids. I didn't manage to catch Mewtwo at either one, though, so overall I'm disappointed with the whole thing. I coordinated through Campfire and Discord and still ended driving all over town because the raids spawned at random gyms at random times. I'm not going to bother with 5 star shadow raids in the future unless they make some changes to the system.
Would I still be as salty if I had actually caught one? Probably not AS salty, but it's still a terrible set up compared to regular raid days. I mean I also worked on the Kyogre and Groudon days, but since they were in every gym on the hour, all I had to do was hit the local park that had four gyms. I was able to fight (and capture) a lot more of them compared to shadow Mewtwo.
To finish off Season 10: Rising Heroes, Pokemon GO now has Shadow Raids, where you can encounter Shadow Pokemon outside of Team Rocket pokestops and balloons. So are these raids any good? Or is it better to save your raid passes? There’s certainly a few decent raids to do.
1-star and 3-star raids
There are currently three types of Shadow Raid. We have 1-star raids which include Bellsprout,…
Raid: Shadow Legends has now reached the inevitable point of the cycle of fantasy themed game that starts with "we also have sexy ladies" marketing where its being promoted by shill accounts on the social media known as Twitter.
But it's not just the presence in the sewer. This is the Google summary:
This the Publisher's own page for it:
Strangely despite the "18+" in the top left corner, the game is still available on the infamously touchy Apple Play Store. So no, we can be very assured there will not even be so much as a nipple in it, let alone anything spicy enough to warrant any 18+ rating.
This is one of the truths behind the "sex sells" argument. It doesn't, this hasn't led to Raid gaining massive sales, dominating over games that don't use sexy marketing, etc.
If you look at the charts for Apple's top games, it's way below things like Roblox, Candy Crush Saga, Pokemon GO, Monopoly GO!, Minecraft and various other cartoony things.
This is with that creepy marketing, and well, why? Well it's just not that impressive in its niche any more.
It's just if you're having artwork made - it doesn't cost any more to add "make it horny" to the notes on female characters, and you'll definitely get endorsements from certain executives.
