Ans to Q1:

Isabella didn’t know how to react. Completely in a daze after her discovery, staring blankly at the small creature after murdering a few.

She asked herself what to do in that situation. Should she kill and dispose of it like the rest? Keep it? Or keep her loyalty?

She questioned, she learned, denied, and accepted.

Isabella ended up taking in Weather. Raising her in her dorm with Mottheaus for two years with both of them taking turns in taking care of her.

Mottheaus would take care of Weather during the day, and Isabella would take care of her during the night. They were happy that way,— until Mottheaus stopped coming home.

Ans to Q2:

Imma try to answer this as best as I can. As this is a bit toughy to explain 🧍🏻 ( Remember that this is NOT CANON to the actual RF lore or characters, since my fanfiction/ comic has its own twists and such ).

I’m gonna list some stuff with explainations on how their relationship dynamics are.

1.) Physical Touch— Walden would often be the one to ask if he can hug her, either for his own comfort or for hers. Isabella on the other hand, doesn’t usually ask for her own comfort, and only whenever Walden is feeling very stressed, because she needs him to stay calm.

2.) Quantity of Time — Isabella follows him around if she felt it was necessary, even stays in his office without saying anything. While Walden would visit her dorm as much as possible to spend time with Weather and eat dinner, and when Weather would be tucked in bed, Isabella and Walden would spend some short time together, sitting on the couch and watching tv or playing music, laying on her bed-nest while staring at the ceiling, or sharing cigarettes at the balcony, . . . Hardly saying a word.

3.) Words of Affirmation— Isabella isn’t good with words or complimenting people, while Walden would sometimes give simple praises like “good job” “it’s okay” or just words of flattery, even giving her the nickname “Silveryvine.”

There is a lack of communication at some point when talking about their problems. Both having difficulty to express emotions through words. Walden tries, but Isabella refuses to open up to him any further.

4.) Receiving Gifts — The only things Isabella could gift Walden would be some rainbow samples, coffee, and back massages. Walden would gift her with food, let it be a living organism or not, clothes too if she allowed it.

5.) Acts of Service— Isabella’s second priority is Walden, she does anything he asks if she deems it fit. She takes care of him a lot. She knows what he wants or needs at a given time. She’s attentive.— Walden, on the other hand, wouldn’t be as much. The best service he can do for her is give her food, some space and take care of Weather, or avenge her for something.

*Walden is the boss, he’s superior, so he’s more important than she is. — is what Isabella thinks.

* If you ignore the slight bit of deep dependency on each other and playing house,— there isn’t one moment between these two considered to be entirely wholesome, considering both of them aren’t very well-synced in their relationship, it’s all a mixes of yes and no, hot and cold, one of them meeting the others demands and the other failing to do so. Almost like the other is meant to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comforted.

Safe to say the most wholesome thing about these two’s relationship is that they can learn from each other; touch, much more emotional or personal connection ( tho slowly ), mostly just finding comfort from one another’s presence no matter what state they are in.

I could answered this easier if I wanted to, but come on, I think we were looking for more on how their relationship works.

So how about a nice and simple topic to start with:

What is up with Hathaway's hair?

(Definitely not prompted by someone else)

So let's stick with the green-brown color for this one. (as opposed to the black-brown because this doesn't matter either way)

First of all we have to notice that Hathaway at base is someone who specifically wants to be himself, he wants to be understood as himself. CCA is the first showing of this, along with the first time he's an actual character, everyone and I do mean everyone during Char's Rebellion couldn't care any less about how Hathaway feels, from Bright just actually forgetting his existence (according to "The man Who Could Not Ride the Rainbow), Amuro thinking that seeing war is good for him to Quess being too far gone to even tell him no. Almost every character who interacts with Hathaway during the movie just doesn't care what he thinks, used to add to the theme of "the old generations are failing the new ones".

Coming back to the hair thing, Hathaway gets the color from Bright, they both share it. Also in Gundam Hathaway and in Hathaway's Flash novel Hathaway only ever complains about how Brights clout has made no one want to interact with Hathaway Noa, just the son of Bright Noa. This would be enough wouldn't it? To explain that Hathaway changed the hair simply to add that degree of separation from his father.

But there's one more, after CCA Hathaway pretends to not be doing things out of emotion alone, he always acts like there's some material justification to his emotional response, Gigi for example:

Hathaway says he's saving her cuz she might be a spy but is actually doing it because he cares about her.

So to him justifying the hair color change comes from trying not to stand out, green is not a usual hair color, so instead he changes it to the 2nd most popular in the world, and now he's not worried about being an emotional baby in his own mind.

Another tid-bit about the hair is that Hathaway now shares a hair color with Amuro Ray, in-universe I think this might be that subconscious bid for Bright's attention, but on a meta level this represents that Hathaway's ideology draws connections to the White Devil himself. Hathaway is often described as a combination of Char and Amuro, through Char's lack of faith in the change of the RF and Amuro's faith that humanity will change.

Hathaway's hair is a minor but multifold connection to his character and arc and on a meta level represents his arc in a microcosm of dyed keratin.

Tomorrow: Amuro Ray, Bright Noa and fence sitting of tired veterans. (Throwing rocks with this one I know, but idrc)

Rating Rune Factory Wedding Dresses (Because I have some opinions)

I honestly think this dress is top tier in terms of design. The snowy white with pops of color, the scalloped flowy sleeves, the barely exposed shoulders, that lovely subtle headdress and veil, it's all so pretty and elegant to me. I believe it suits all the girls in RF1 beautifully, though I do feel like Tabatha (center) and Rosetta (right) are standouts~

It's a very lovely design overall though I do think it creates a bit of an odd silhouette. There are still many elements to appreciate, like the lacey detailed edges and the bold but uncommon use of green. I also give them bonus points for containing a dress sprite of he/him character Ray (right) in the game's data (Trans RF character confirmed?) I think the dress best suits curvier girls like Yue (left) but it's also a real treat to finally see Dorothy's (center) lovely eyes~

This dress really doesn't do it for me. I can tell they were going for more of a ceremonial robes vibe rather than a traditional wedding dress and from a distance it almost works but the outfit up close is just bulky and unflattering. Maybe if they fixed the headdress or gave the robe some really pretty accents or beading it could work, but as it is, it's probably the last thing I'd wanna be virtually married in. The one thing I do like is that it gives most of the girls a unique updo for their wedding day.

This used to be my least favorite RF wedding dress before that honor went to Frontier. The more I look at it, the more I realize that most of my disdain lies with the headdress and not the dress itself. The actual dress is fine, in fact there are some parts I really like, the sheer material on the upper arms for one, or the shawl, I just don't think it particularly looks like a wedding dress. That headdress though...oh boy, it looks like someone just glued a bunch of random sh*t they found to a headband and called it a day. It's just very cluttered and doesn't scream 'wedding' at all. If I have to pick a stand out it would probably be Raven (center) since her pose and hair color hide many of the design fails. Also Daria (right) because it seems like the sort of chaotic outfit she, herself would design.

This game didn't get the usual character portraits so the images aren't great, but my opinion on these dresses was very so-so, I definitely wouldn't call them ugly, and I do love the colors and rare use of a real bouquet, they just didn't seem to stand out all that much. Especially in terms of RF costumes. They seem a little bulky on the models but I honestly think they could have fixed that by just having character portraits. Not bad. Not great. Just middle of the road dresses. As standouts I'd pick Sonja and Electra (left and center). Their hair colors complement the dress and Electra is already suited to the poofy ballgown look anyway.

RF4's dress has a very ethereal, almost fairy-like look to it, which I personally find very gorgeous. It's pretty busy like many of the previous dresses, but unlike those, I feel like the elements here actually work together. The long flowy veil and blue rose accents are just beautiful, as is the detailed corset and neckpiece making up the torso. I'm not personally a huge fan of the flower petal looking design on the hips, but it does fit well with the whole aesthetic. As for standouts, It looks tailor made for Frey (left), but I definitely think taller, long haired girls like Dolce and Margaret (center and right) look amazing in it as well.

I think this dress is beautiful as a whole, a bit more traditional and subdued than previous wedding outfits but personally I love it. The silhouette is flattering on everyone and the color scheme is unique among the other dresses by sticking with only warmer colors as opposed to the cool blues and greens of past games. I also love how the tint of the roses changes slightly depending on who's wearing the dress. All in all it reminds me a lot of the subtle elegance of RF1's dress and that makes it a win for me. For standouts I think Fukka's (center) complexion and hair go beautifully with the dresses colors. Ludmilla (right) also looks divine with the rosy aesthetic~

Science! But specifically: Marine biology, chemical oceanography, astronomy, and genetics.

Birds! I favor Turkey vultures, Wandering + Laysan Albatross, Greater roadrunners, Storm petrels (Wilson’s), Alcids, African+King penguins, Montezuma Quails, Kea’s and Kakapos. I also like bats. My favorite species is the Indian flying fox.

Killer whales (I love the southern residents) Fun fact: I adopted J-35 Tahlequah from the whale museum last year!

Elasmobranchs, particularly Bluntnose Six-gill, Bamboo, and Scalloped Hammerhead sharks, as well as Spotted Eagle rays. Cephalopods also intrigue me, with the blanket octopus being my favorite.

The Geologic Time Scale, especially the Cambrian and Carboniferous period. I’ve committed to memory most of the Eras and periods within the Phanerozoic Eon! I love learning about earths evolutionary history :3

Dinosaurs! My top three are Carnotaurus, Spinosaurus and Parasaurolophus!

I love Nature photography! I am a nature photographer myself, I photograph mostly birds but I've also photographed different whales and flowers. I shoot with a Canon EOS R7 paired with the RF 100-500mm lens.

it's kinda fucked up how excited I am to have a test come back with something on it. I had bloodwork come back peachy keen, so I fully expected my x-rays & ultrasounds to be the same. but the ultrasound actually found synovial thickening in my hands & wrists and I'm like girl whaaaaat? you found actual proof that something is wrong with me? shut the fuck up. you're saying I have physical evidence that it's not in my head? me???

now my GP also said "ok so obviously that isn't fibromyalgia, not that it isn't ALSO fibromyalgia, but that wouldn't cause this. this would be some rheumatological condition" and I was like, mhmm ok makes sense, and he followed with, "so we'll have to see what Dr. Anna thinks because I have no idea what's going on with you" and I just laughed. I'm a medical mystery bayyybeeeeee.

I get his confusion bc my bloodwork shows no inflammation, no RF factor, no anti-cpp, like. it's not definitively anything else and really needs the specialist to do her investigating. and I'm not even mad bc for the first time I'm like yalllllllll. I have something that isn't just my damn word for once. there's an ultrasound with evidence of weird nonsense happening in my body!!! the fuck!!! proof!!!

Kamala Khan’s bookshelves

Kamala’s room in The Marvels is an absolute treasure trove of little details to zoom in on, and I’ve identified so many books on her shelves!

Shelf 1, top to bottom:

1. Landmark Experiments in Twentieth Century Physics by George L. Trigg

College-level book about experiments that helped us learn about x-rays, lasers, isotopes, superconductors, and all kinds of other things I don’t understand. Meant to be more practical than theoretical since it talks about the actual methodologies of these experiments. Could be for school, or for Kamala and Bruno to run their own tests of Kamala’s powers. The first of many books in the Khan house that come from Dover Publications.

2. Space Time Matter by Hermann Weyl

“An esoteric initiation into space time physics” -Amazon reviewer. I’m gonna be real, I don’t understand half the words in this book description, but apparently it’s famous for introducing gauge theory, which was later reborn as phase transformations in quantum theory. I can see this being something Kamala reads to try and understand the bangle transporting her to the Partition. Also from Dover.

3. A Map to the Sun by Sloane Leong

A graphic novel about a high school girl’s basketball team learning to work together despite their many differences and conflicts. Also it has a gorgeous color palette. Seems fairly self explanatory why it’s in this movie. I’ll definitely be borrowing this from my library! Like my friend Kamala recommended a book to me herself.

4. The Good Immigrant anthology edited by Nikesh Shukla

21 essays from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people in the UK about their experiences. It was crowdfunded initially, extremely critically acclaimed, and has gotten spinoffs and sequels. Riz Ahmed, who is British Pakistani, is one contributor, and a fun fact is that Rish Shah (Kamran from Ms. Marvel) worked with Riz Ahmed in an Oscar winning short called The Long Goodbye. Also, the editor, Nikesh Shukla, is currently writing the Spider-Man India comics series!

5. Bright Lines by Tanwi Nandini Islam

A coming-of-age story about 3 young adults with complicated family, friend, and romantic relationships between them. They have to travel from Brooklyn to Bangladesh together one summer and thereby discover a lot about themselves. I haven’t read it, but there seems to be a ton of complex representation of LGBTQ, POC, immigrant, and Muslim characters. I wonder how much the three main characters can be compared with our three characters with complex relationships in The Marvels, and I wonder which character Kamala most relates to!

6. I can’t tell! The font is bugging the hell out of me because theoretically, with that amount of contrast, I should be able to read a word when I get two inches from the TV and mess with the settings. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

7. I also can’t tell, but I’m being easier on myself because the title is written in white on a yellow background. It’s not the only book I know off the top of my head with this color scheme (Yellowface by RF Kuang) because the title is definitely multiple words. Help!

Shelf 2, right to left:

1. One Night that Changes Everything by Lauren Barnholdt

A YA romance where, through a convoluted series of events, a teenager must face all of her insecurities in one night. I can see Kamala devouring this as brain candy after wrestling with those advanced science books, or using it as fic inspiration!

2. Can’t tell, but love the color scheme!

This next one is a weird one, because I am 100% sure of what book it is, but I cannot find a picture of a matching edition.

3. Wizard at Large by Terry Brooks

It’s definitely, without a doubt, this book (where a character and a magical medallion are accidentally transported to Earth from another realm and switches places with an evil genie). Like those are the words on the spine and the plot of the book is an obvious choice for this movie. The fonts match on the audiobook, the ebook, and the next two books in the series. But try as I might, I cannot find any proof on the internet that the physical book that appears in Kamala’s room, that uses those two fonts and that spine formatting, exists. This is haunting me…

4. (On the other side of the box) It’s not The Twilight Saga Eclipse, but I definitely thought it was before I could watch in high definition. I think it’s a journal or sketchbook of Kamala’s; there are a bunch scattered throughout the room.

Shelf 3:

I’ve only identified the bottom book, which is Einstein’s Theory of Relativity by Max Born (Dover Publications). The third one up is HAUNTING me, it looks SO identifiable and yet!

Living Room Side Table:

1. Amateur Astronomer’s Handbook by JB Sidgwick (from Dover Publications)

2. Cosmology by Hermann Bondi (also Dover)

Both of these seem less difficult than the science books in Kamala’s room, but reviewers note that it helps to know calculus when reading Cosmology. Idk which member of the Khan family is reading these, but I love their family’s connection to the stars 💫

Tbh I’m having so much fun doing this! And I really wish we got to see Monica’s living space so I can analyze her books 😭

yessss. and we could have had earth-x Barry too. it wasn't teased or anything but, come on, they needed a speedster, they had Kara and Oliver and then. Thawne? really? doesn't it feel way more logical for it to be Barry? not to mention, there's an animated web series for it, well that introduces Ray actually, or something, and it has Kara, voiced by Melissa, and Oliver and in that version, there is Barry. or earth-x Flash.

i'm not saying that crossover was that amazing anyway but i can't pass on any chance for some evil Barry and this one feels like it should have happened only Thawne happened instead and. yeah. sorry sorry if it's controversial.

i'm such a sucker for Dark Barry and i have no idea why but i really am.

YESSSS I grow less fond of Coex the more I think about it, but you’re absolutely right, it should’ve been Earth-X Barry there, not Thawne. It was such a random choice…and it was the start of the show cartoon-villain-ifying Thawne, which I despise.

And yeah, logically, it makes more sense! Our main trio faces a completed, evil Earth-X trio, instead of two of them facing EX versions and Barry facing…Thawne. Again. But lamer this time. Just…ughhh. I didn’t know about the animated series, but that’s interesting.

And hey, you’re not alone 😂 I’m a sucker for Dark Barry too! One of my biggest pet peeves of this show is how they squandered so many chances to do it (well, really 3 counting this. I’m never sure whether to count Bloodwork Barry, seeing as him being Bloodwork’s zombie was kinda the only way his existence could go. But definitely Savitar, RF!Barry, and this).

Barry is just…he’s so easy to turn evil. He has some perfect traits to twist into villainy (his protectiveness, his tendency to love to the point of destruction if need be*, his temper, his powers making him OP af, his mounting fury against the Speedforce, etc). It’s right there! The formula is written!

*when he told Iris “why [shouldn’t I stop protecting the city to save you]?”, and when he plucked Snart out of the timestream just for a heist to potentially save Iris…even after he literally did timeline manipulation with Flashpoint earlier that season and knew it could ruin everything again.

Barry would burn the world to save his loved ones…and that combined with his protectiveness alone is enough to make him a super compelling villain. If only the writers had actually tried, instead of slapping Savitar with some “I want to rule all of time” bs (which could’ve been believable if it played off his anger at the Speedforce + general feeling of powerlessness in his own life, but it didn’t. Because the writers didn’t bother exploring Savitar/Barry’s psyche at all, even to make his world domination motives make sense). *heavy sigh* can you tell I’ve thought about this a lot

Saturday GUYS!

Bisons lost 10-2. Oof. Bloss gave up 4 runs in 3 innings, then some guy named Overton (never heard of him) gave up 6 in 2.2. 😖 Wasn’t all bad though: Will Wagner had a solo HR, and Orelvis had 3 hits. Davis was 0-3 with a walk.

Fisher Cats were supposed to play a doubleheader, but only got the first game (won 1-0) before the rain started again. Vancouver won 6-0. Dunedin crushed Daytona 14-1; Phil Clarke had 3 hits including a HR and 4 RBI, and Khal Stephen pitched 5 innings with 8 strikeouts, no walks, no runs. 👍

Cavan was 1 for 3 with a HR! 💕 KC won 4-0 over orioles 👍

Jano was 0-3 with a walk, Rays beat yanks 3-2.

Pirates lost heartbreakingly to Padres when Tatis scored on a wild pitch in the ninth. Even worse, IKF was sent to IL with sore hamstring. 😢

Still on rehab with AA pirates, Spencer hit a couple very deep fly balls that probably should have been HR if not for weird walls/corners in both LF and RF. 😡 Ended up with a double and scored a run. Plus this nice 3-6-3 double play!

Ans:

1. I got the inspiration from BlueRaven’s version of Bad Ending Walden who took the concepts from Dodozoi’s (former owner of WH RF AU ) old story concept of the Bad Ending Timeline, where Walden injects himself with some red substances making him regenerate his arm to a skeletal prosthetic, forgetting about the people he loved, and make him go crazy; killing anything that crosses his path for more colors.

-In BlueRaven’s story, Walden earns regenerates his arm due to the red substance he had injected himself along with its other affects caused thanks to Harold/Home & IT. Killing people made Walden earn the title as the neighbourhood’s “Midnight Maniac.”

-In my BRBB comic, it all still has the same elements of how he lost his memories even in Timeskip. He’s still crazy but more calmer and humane, civil??? Maybe???, on some cases at least, — He’s just not as berserk as the Midnight Maniac thanks to Isabella.

I’ll also be holding on to the concept of Harold/Home & IT being involved, as it has shown in Dodozoi’s old illustrations that Harold seems to deeply and genuinely care about Walden and his well-being, even being there for him for comfort when he needed it. — I also like to think Harold agreed to letting him forget as to that’s what Walden wanted, to forget everything, and to stop hurting, — but also a few of IT’s ideas being pitched in.

2. Both. Her daughter is her responsibility. ( You can do your own deep-analysis on their relationship if you want to, I think it’d be pretty awesome knowing how other people see their relationship as to why or how it is that way, along with Isabella & Walden, and Walden & Weather ).

-💜Itsy—would offer physical contact, even letting them lay down on her big tail for comfort. She’d listen if they needed or wanted to vent, but won’t give any wise advise, not really. Just a few comments here and there.

-💛Opposite Itsy/ Beetsy— doesn’t know how to comfort, she’s pretty hesitant when doing it, not knowing what to do or say especially when not knowing what the person specifically wants or needs. The best she can do is give a few hugs, back rubs, hand holding, and just being a listening ear, and a few “I’m sorrys” here and there.

She’d also probably offer you something to make you feel better, like a flower, but mostly food or small snacks, even going out of her way to find or buy anything that can stimulate you.

-🩶Rainbow Factory Itsy/ Isabella— would simply initiate physical contact, just holding her hand and a few pats and hugs is all she can offer.

-🩷Euphoria Bugs Itsy/ Molly— would not know what to do with her brain and memory almost like a gold fish. If she saw you with a frown on your face, she would offer you a big hug while still not knowing what’s going on completely. She’d probably find other different ways to make you feel better and will not stop until she succeeds.

-❤️Evil Itsy/ Missy— would offer tea. . . . and or give you a smack behind the head for some reason. 💀

-💙Hunter Itsy/ Itty— would give small hugs, as that’s all she can do. ( She does this to Hunter Wally sometimes when he feels tired or sad. )

-♠️Royalty Itsy/ Isakarra— would use her graceful side to appear to be more gentle or comforting, offering tea and pats, and would put on her armor for you to punch or blow off steam. She’s also the type to ask “Who should I slay for you?”

-♥️Butcher Itsy/ Teethy — Offers food.
