i recently hit 1k followers! that's a massive milestone that i'm super surprised and pleased to have hit! i didn't think even one person would be interested in my extremely scattered thoughts and interests and silly edits, let alone one thousand of you! i feel extremely grateful and happy over both the friends i've made here, the acquaintences i follow and the followers i have. in celebration of this milestone, i'm doing an event over a week or so!

currently watching: I just finished the Kinnporsche rewatch and am still deep in my feels, so i'm not really watching much of anything but I did put on Scrubs recently for the millionth time. it is my Comfort Comedy.

current obsession: kinnporsche, definitely. this stupid show. got to the last episode thinking I was just normally enjoying a fun gay mafia drama and then the last episode fucking grabbed me by the throat and said "You won't be thinking of anything else for a while LMAO" and it was true.

Last song: Currently listening to Pandora, and the last song that wrapped was Killer by Eminem.  My music taste ranges from top tier to bottom of the sea detritus.  Some songs I’ve been obsessed with lately are Wonderland, Lil Bit, and Hello! I See You!

Currently reading: Terminal Boredom, a collection of translated short stories by Izumi Suzuki.  It’s an interesting, deeply melancholic read; characters struggle with identity, social transgression, lost youth, etc, but never quite succeed in their self-actualization.  I finally downloaded Libby and have been reading a lot this summer.  Recent reads have included Caitlin Kiernan’s The Red Tree (well written but more sad than scary for me), Anna Smaill’s The Chimes (did not like it; ultimately felt like I was reading knockoff Drarry fic after an enticing start), and Kameron Hurley’s God’s War (an early offering from her, I like later books more but even an ok Hurley is better than many other authors’ best).  The moral of the story is get Libby it’s so worth it

Currently watching: Season 5 of The Dragon Prince.  I wish it were rated Y14 instead of Y7, I think being able to go just a bit harder more consistently would really make me like it more, and every romantic pairing in the show is an absolute snore even when it should be my jam.  Otherwise I just watched Automatic with a friend.  It was an entertainingly schlocky ride that felt derivative of about 5 other things and had no idea how it wanted to end; I wish I’d known about the onscreen attempted rape and rape/torture threats before going in :/ so be ye warned should you decide to watch it

Current obsession: 🤔 I can’t say I have any outstanding current obsessions.  Still caring So Much about Hange Attackontitan and working on several fics concurrently, I guess.

Last movie: Valentine (2001) an all time classic of the trashy 2000s slasher in the tradition of Final Destination, Urban Legend, and Halloween Resurrections. It's still amazing, hard recommend. Before that I was watching The Vampire Doll (1970) is Japan does Hammer horror and it's amazing

Currently craving: this great recipe for vegetarian Mapo Tofu I always want it every so often, it uses shitake mushrooms instead of the ground meat and it's sooo good lemme know and I'll post the link

Gerry Conway & Gene Colan

Maybe the first battle between Doom and the Devil for his mother's soul? I was excited to see Gene Colan's Dr. Doom, and it was visually exciting. The castle is amazing, and he’d not afraid of close ups on the face, showing emotion through body and eyes.

Finished the reread of these, as per @rraaaarrl's reminder. Love that this early on, Marvel realized Doom could be a protagonist himself.
