Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Welcome to Throwback Thursday!

On this page, ‘Throwback Thursday’ is all about memories. So, what do you remember? If I was to say the word PROPAGANDA, what immediately comes to mind?

On the front cover of yesterday’s Metro read the headline, “40 BABIES MURDERED BY HAMAS”. Utter tosh, of course, and appalling, irresponsible journalism, but such is the nature of propaganda. The people behind such headlines have an agenda. Most of MSM (mainstream media) is owned by a few men wealthier than all of us put together. Peace, love and harmony are no good to them. There’s no money in it. Hatred, war and sickness are profitable businesses, so it’s good to promote disharmony. Newspapers telling huge, whopping lies on their front cover is nothing new. Just after the murder of P.C. Keith Blakelock, during the Broadwater Farm riots in Tottenham, The Sun put a huge photo of a man called Winston Silcott on the front cover. Underneath it was the word, “MONSTER”, implying that Winston had murdered Keith Blakelock. Of course, he hadn’t. Appalling, irresponsible journalism but did The Sun care? No. Their agenda was to turn blacks against whites and, to a degree, it worked. Did they care about facts or the truth of the matter? Putting Winston’s face on their front cover created more racial tension. So, should we be surprised at newspapers putting utter bollocks on their front pages? Not at all. As it happens, this story about (a beautifully rounded number, not 39 or 41) 40 babies being beheaded began to unravel as the day went on and it was eventually debunked by end of play. No real, hard evidence of any such event occurring. Sadly, the feeble-minded believe propaganda, and the elite agenda continues on its merry way; divide and conquer, keep the working classes occupied so they don’t notice that they’re getting royally shafted! Let’s get this straight, not all Palestinians belong to Hamas. Not all Irish people belong to The IRA. Not all white Americans belong to the Ku Klux Klan. Not all Nigerians are members of Boko Haram. To suggest that all Palestinians are terrorists is not a good look for your credibility, but propaganda doesn’t care about that. Propaganda wants you to hate your neighbour, even if you have a ton of things in common.

So, on this Throwback Thursday, what kind of memories, thoughts or emotions does the word PROPAGANDA conjure up for you?

Obviously, over the past few days, I’ve been calling-out the hypocrisy on MSM and have lost a number of ‘followers’. As they say, it’s always good when the trash takes itself out. The Trouble said to me, “You must stop being so political!” “My father was political,” I said to her. “His parents were political too.” Dad’s play, ‘Chicken Soup With Barley’ is about a bunch of Jewish people (his family) sitting around a table, drinking tea, eating cake and discussing politics, with The Battle Of Cable Street raging outside the window. Oswald Mosely and his ‘black shirts’ tried to bring their Nazi nonsense to the east end of London, knowing it was heavily populated with Jews. Mosely was rejected, of course. An amazing moment in London history and the reason the play is so good. My father hated cruelty, injustice and zealots.

And backstage at Top of The Pops, The Specials are falling apart.

In a few minutes they will perform their latest hit Ghost Town, which over the years, would come to be regarded as one of the greatest British singles of all time. It was a track which bottled the discord, racial tensions and societal breakdown happening in the UK that summer.

There had already been riots in Brixton that April, over the increased use of a new stop-and-search policy, the so-called sus law, which was named Operation Swamp. Police were said to have mounted a campaign of harassment against the black community in south London.

Terry Hall is telling the band that he too has had enough. Worn down by touring, band infighting and struggling to deal with success, he wants out. It is too difficult to be singing about disharmony, while surrounded by it, both inside and outside The Specials.

"We knew it was going to end as we were recording it (Ghost Town)," Terry Hall told Front Row in 2019.

"It was bizarre. It took about eight months to record. I don't think there were more than two of us in the studio at any point. Those weren't good signs really. It finished up with me in a living room in Tottenham singing Ghost Town. It was all over the place. But it was a great way to bow out."

The song was written by the band's founding member Jerry Dammers, but it is also the track with which lead singer Terry Hall is most closely identified. Every TV and radio report about his death has centred on Ghost Town.

The single was simply one of the most timely releases in music history.

"Talk about zeitgeist. That one song suddenly captured so much," remembered Specials fan and Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chada in the 2021 BBC Documentary 2 Tone: The Sound of Coventry.

"If there is one song Margaret Thatcher wishes never got released, it's probably Ghost Town," she added.

On 7 July 1981, Radio One announced that Ghost Town had replaced Michael Jackson's One Day In Your Life at the top of the charts.

That same day, newspaper front pages were full of reports about the first ever use of CS gas grenades by the police on mainland Britain, as they struggled to contain the Toxteth Riots. These were sparked by tensions between police and the local community in Liverpool.

By the end of the week more than 20 towns and cities including London, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Leeds and Luton had riots of their own. The Specials were providing the soundtrack.

In 2 Tone: The Sound of Coventry, Dammers explained how the creation of the song started with him sitting at his home organ, trying different diminished chords and working out how wailing could substitute a chorus.

"I think I wrote the music first. I was working on that for ages. The lyrics I wrote on tour just seeing what was going down around the country. It was about the recession and three million people on the dole. It's about the police harassment and unemployment. It was like a perfect storm really."

For years there has been debate over whether or not Ghost Town is specifically about their hometown of Coventry. The decline of the car industry had turned a thriving post-war economy into a concrete jungle.

Neville Staple from The Specials has stated he believes the song should be taken more generally: "In Coventry and all over England it painted the same picture. This town is coming like a ghost town."

Terry Hall's own understanding of Ghost Town changed over the last 40 years. In 1981, when speaking to the New York Times, he insisted: "We were talking about riots in Bristol and Brixton. The fact that it became popular when it did was just a weird coincidence."

But speaking on BBC Radio Five Live in 2019, he told Nihal Arthanayake: "We made a record about how we saw the north of Britain. People think it was about Coventry. It wasn't. It was about Glasgow and Liverpool and Newcastle. It was about the north."

Ghost Town has certainly had an after-life.

When Amy Winehouse joined The Specials on stage at the V Festival in 2009, it was Ghost Town that she wanted to sing.

In Father Ted, when the priests organised a disco and the DJ, Father "Spin Master" O'Dwyer only has one record that everyone has to dance to all night, the 7 inch on repeat is Ghost Town.

On Desert Island Discs, it's a recent favourite, having been picked four times in the last three years: by the charity worker Claire Horton, the Director of Tate Maria Balshaw, the foreign affairs specialist Fiona Hill and the actor Rupert Everett, who called it "one of the great songs of the era".

And in 2020, The Guardian named it the second best number one single in the UK of all time, behind West End Girls by Pet Shop Boys, a song released four year later and not entirely dissimilar with the sense of urban decay which it creates.

Ghost Town is now considered to be an all-time classic, but its reign over the summer of 1981 came to an ignominious end. The day before 28 million people watched the wedding of the future King to Lady Diana Spencer, The Specials were dethroned.

The lunchtime unveiling of the charts revealed that rising 22 places to number one was none other than Shakin' Stevens with Green Door.

The band's era as chart-dominating stars had well and truly been slammed shut by Shaky. Within months, Hall had formed Fun Boy Three and The Specials in their original incarnation were over.

More than 40 years on Ghost Town stands as their defining work - the perfect coming together of pop and politics at exactly the right moment in history. It was that rarest of things, a song dealing with subjects found in The Economist while the band were on the cover of Smash Hits. Special indeed.

A phenotype is all of the characteristics that we can observe. For example observable characteristics include such as height, eye color, blood type, earwax type, freckles, and hair color. phenotypes can change constantly throughout the life of an individual because of environmental changes and changes associated with aging. A person’s phenotype is determined by both their genotype and environmental factors. Factors like what one eats, how much one exercises, how much one smokes and etc are environmental influences which will affect the phenotype as well.

Although it is now accepted that modern populations are the result of the continuous mixing of various populations since prehistoric times, views on miscegenation—in some instances legally enforced—have existed and continue to exist in many race-based societies. 4. Racism

Racism is the belief that humans may be divided into separate and “races”; and that there is a link between inherited physical traits and traits of personality, intellect, morality, and other cultural and behavioral features; and that some races are innately superior to other races. Since the late 20th century the notion of biological race has been recognized as a cultural invention, entirely without scientific basis.

5. hypodescent

hypodescent is a person that is born that has an ancestry of multiple racial identities and which ever race is is dominant is the one that is assigned to them or what they should I identify as. For years, racial classification in America was determined on the basis of hypodescent also known as the one drop” rule. The hypodescent rule meant that any degree of any ancestry determines that you are apart of that class regardless of if they are black or white or any other race.

6. Jim Crow

Jim Crow laws were a collection of state and local statutes that legalized racial segregation. These laws lasted for about 100 years. These laws were meant to marginalize African Americans and denying them the right to vote, to hold jobs, get an education or other opportunities which had a negative effect on them. Those who attempted to go against Jim Crow laws had often faced arrest, fines, jail sentences, violence and death. Millions of people had migrated to the northeast and northeast to escape Jim Crow laws.

The popular family movie Encanto directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush shows the lives of the Madrigals, a Hispanic family whose children inherit magical powers gifted by their ancestors in honor of their passing grandfather. Filled with music and laughter, at first it seems like the Madrigals are the perfect family, using their gifts to help their village and support each other… until Mirabel, one of the Madrigals, does not receive her unique gift. From there, the audience witnesses as the troubles and sorrows of the Madrigals are revealed over the generations. This movie stars Stephanie Beatriz, John Madrigal, and Maria Cecilia Botero. 

Encanto’s subject reveals the importance of family and heritage, as well as healing from generational trauma in a multicultural family. As mentioned in ART 150, there is a commonly unstated but vastly important role of heritage within families. As Gregory Jay states, “Despite its problematic basis, ‘race’ can be a powerful reality for organizing social, political, and cultural activity that affirms a group’s identity and furthers its interests” (Jay). The Madrigals use their Hispanic heritage as a basis for their identity, and make it a priority within their family to maintain their customs and traditions, such as receiving their magical gifts. Encanto uses ‘race’ as a notion of power and love, rather than hate and disharmony like in some places today. The movie goes to show how culture and tradition play a vital role in family and friendship, even across cultures and races. This is a very important theme and is something frequently discussed within the discussions of ART 150.

Continuing, Encanto also represents cultural diversity through cross-racial relationships and the representation of ethnic identities within the Madrigals. For example, Mirabel’s mother and father exhibit multiracial love as a Hispanic and white couple who share each other’s cultures rather than suppressing one or the other, as well as raise their children to appreciate and understand both cultures. Gonzalez writes, “It becomes clear when looking at these and other historical precedents that race has long been an importantly visual system of power whose parameters have been the focus of every innovation in visual recording devices” (Gonzalez 2003). Through visualizing the Madrigal’s ethnic identities, they create a system of power within their household that reveals the strength of their heritage. This also reflects the importance of Encanto as a movie, where the audience has constant visuals of the family dynamics, as well as the inclusion of their separate ethnic identities. Encanto creates a commonly unsaid meaning as the screen contains visuals of Hispanic food, decorations, instruments, and music. There is also the visual representation of the many different types of Hispanics within the Madrigal family, such as Afro-Latino, non-black Latino, and more. This continues to support the cultural diversity within Encanto.

Similar to the idea of visual cultural diversity, Encanto represents generational trauma within a multicultural family in popular visual culture. One of the reasons why Encanto became so popular so quickly is because of the many meanings within the movie that many people could relate to. Sturken and Cartwright expressed this, saying, “Barthes referred to photographic truth as myth not because he felt that photographs do not tell the truth but because he regarded truth as always culturally inflected, never pure and uninfluenced by contextual factors” (Sturken & Cartwright 2009). In this case, the Madrigal family was the “picture” of perfection, instilled into them by Abuela Madrigal. Abuela had the belief that in order to preserve their magical gifts and Hispanic heritage, the family must selflessly serve the community. This is where the subject of general trauma comes in, originating in Abuela Madrigal when her husband was killed by conquerors as the couple was forced to flee their home. When Abuela received the magical candle as a gift of her husband’s passing, she instilled the idea of selfless perfection into the family, in order to “deserve” the candle and make her husband proud. However, throughout the movie, Mirabel works with her grandmother to overcome the trauma together and use their history and ethnic identities to unite the family. It is a powerful message that can relate to many people viewing the movie, and displays a topic that repeatedly comes up in the ART 150 discussions.

Overall, Encanto shows an example of a movie displaying the importance of displaying heritage in a multicultural family struggling with generational trauma in popular visual culture.

Well of course the Harkles have to make an announcement that they are for Ukraine. Most everyone is for Ukraine right now. Why must they always weigh in as self appointed world ambassadors. They are getting an NAACP award for promoting racial equality. More like she created more racial disharmony by her actions and always calling the race card for her mistakes. Part of this blueprint is the canceling of our fundamental liberties. The Chinese virus is but the start of this tyranny. Following the rigged election of China Joe Biden, we are now hearing for the leftists a call for revenge. In academia, professors of public policy at Duke Bill Adair, also the founder of the far-leftist Politifact, and Philip Napoli have argued that there is a need for the government to decide what speech will be permitted. In their ivory tower, the poor snowflakes can not accept that there may be someone with ideas different from what they believe. They can' handle disagreement but opt for the censorship of those they feel are below the.

In their world, the citizens cannot decide because they have believed all the lies fed to them by the opposition. They do not understand that facts matter and millions of people have decided to stop drinking the progressive socialist Kool-Aid and have started to think for themselves. Lied to by the leftist political officials within our midst and talking heads of television, the American people have seen the truth and will resist the temptation to allow our government officials to continue their run to the control of every aspect of our lives.

Big Tech and media's crushing censorship will not change the facts and will not distort the truth. The American people will see through the lies and misinformation. The next step, which is just beginning, is the cancel culture of destroying the livelihoods and families of those who disagree. Big government is taking a more active role in the misinformation campaign and the politics of personal destruction. Moving at breakneck speed to further totalitarianism, the leftists call for a government-run by leftists and anarchists to further dictate what is or is not allowable speech.

Coupled with the liberal programs to revise our culture and history is persecution directed at the American liberty loving patriots. They are attempting to coerce the American patriots into bowing down and declaring our great country's history is evil. Tearing down our monuments and revising our history have taken hold because we have let our educational system flounder on the shoals of progressive socialism that had its start under FDR and Woodrow Wilson.

We are being told that if you believe in individual rights as enshrined in our Constitution and Bill of Rights, you must be a racist. The anarchists in the streets' sole purpose are the creative chaos and attempt to cause the patriots within our country, the majority. The progressive socialists hope that the disorder will cause behavioral changes in the psyche of the American patriots causing patriots to bend in their beliefs to the point where they give up and submit to the globalists' demands.

And make no mistake, the globalists, along with the factions within such as teachers unions and community activist groups that work to cause racial disharmony. Those in our government will never understand that the individual citizen is who built this country. Personal responsibility and rugged individualism are what this country was built on. Without personal responsibility,  the anarchists and the enablers behind them cannot be held accountable. And without rugged individualism, how can the people stand up to the sorts of things we see today in the circus of politics that threatens to bring this country down.

It may take some time, but the American people will stand up to the intimidation and force used by Marxist forces such as BLM and the Democrat Party. Andrew Cuomo, New York Governor and nursing home murdered, even stated on air that nowhere does it say that protests should be peaceful. But Cuomo can't explain how riots, looting, and burning a citizen's business taking away their livelihood can lead to a fearful police department that runs over someone in a mob surrounding the police car. Even our fake vice-president Kamala Harris has said that riots should continue; she even helped the few arrested to make bail. But she can’t explain that the riots will find everyone, including those in the Capitol who rules the supposed little people from on high. Where the progressive socialists have gained a foothold, threats, violence, censorship, and chaos follow. What will these socialists say when the populace has had enough and start fighting back. They have nothing they can do but declare it an "insurrection.” It will be civil disobedience and the American people's triumph over the authoritarianism they, the progressive socialists, are trying to force upon us.

Leading with the devices at their command in social engineering, political repression, and destroying the best economy before the pandemic will lead to the ultimate collapse that is part of the plan the progressive socialism. By the end of the Biden/Harris regime, our constitutional separation of power and fealty to freedom and fundamental equality will begone. The replacement of the necessary foundation of our country will be tribalism and identity politics. The truth will be supplanted by the ideology of socialism, including mass censorship. Socialism will maintain the status quo of corporate oligarchies. It has been shown that even during the past socialist takeovers of democratic countries, the movement has been nothing more than a funded operation for the benefits of the elites in positions of power.

The mainstream media and the leftists are doing their best to make the "insurrection" a pivot point in the nation's psyche because of a national election that will not admit it was stolen. The mountains of evidence were not investigated or ruled on by ANY court. The challenges that did make it to the courts were dismissed on technicalities and procedural issues. The evidence has never been examined, and in the few cases that made it courts, was dismissed out of hand without any investigation. The MSM and leftists won't tell you this and refuse to allow anyone to question the election results. Why would they not let the citizens of a supposedly free country see the evidence and will enable us to decide for ourselves?

Is it because in the world of journalism of today, there can be actions to question or investigate any information that is not committed to "the Cause." The globalist elites who have decided that the peasants need to be led without their consent and forced to agree to limits on their liberty. They claim this suppression is a constitutional norm and that the lower class must comply. The globalists see themselves as figureheads meant to make declarations that the peasants will bow down to and follow unquestioningly. They have badly misinterpreted the American people's pulse and are ill-prepared to tamp down the citizen interaction.

The Biden administration is a coup, an open attack on our country to usurp our republic and culture.

In the word of George Washington:                

“The time is now near at hand which must properly determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves: whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their houses and farms are to pillaged and destroyed; and themselves consigned to a state of wretchedness.”

What more can be done to the middle class? Caught between the globalists and the progressive socialists in our Congress and the radicalized mobs such as Antifa and BLM below them, what is left open to the middle class? And it appears that the mobs destroying our cities and attempting to intimidate our citizens do not understand that what they are doing is becoming an ally to the socialist left. It doesn’t matter that socialism has never worked; these thugs don't understand socialism. They have been brainwashed since earl yon through the leftists that indoctrinate them in our schools. Being told that in socialism, "the people" run everything and share equally, it will be a rude awakening when these mobs discover that the Insider elites in total control of consolidating and controlling the wealth.

Add to this the censorship, and cancel culture taken from the likes of the Soviet Union and understand that the anti-America cabal has plans to separate and chase the middle class hard working patriots from the forum of American politics.

Flip it an infinite number of times, and you will get a perfect 50/50 split. This is predictable. What is UNCERTAIN is the precise sequence of heads and tails, as this will vary with every experiment.

Similarly, there are countless directions that the 2022 MLP series can go in - countless events of Equestrian history (past, present, and future) that might get explored. While these individual events are impossible to predict, the one constant is that, as long as Equestria is being observed, the final outcome will be friendship.

During the Horse Dark Ages, however, (when Equestria is NOT being observed), friendship is not a predictable outcome.

PUTTING SPROCKET'S THEOREM TO THE TEST

I know what you're thinking. Correlation is exactly the same thing as causation, and Sprocket's Theorem, now being conclusively proven, represents the highest accomplishment of all human sciences.

But wait, there's more!

We have to test this hypothesis under varying conditions.

Consider the unknown chapters of Equestrian history. Let's pick a random date - any random variable in one of those billions of proverbial coin tosses.

Let us ask, for instance, what happened on the second Tuesday after the 100th anniversary of the end of Princess Twilight's reign?

Was there any residual friendship? Was Equestria already in chaos, disharmony, and racial division, or does the process of decline take a while?

At first glance, it would seem logical that there would have to be a linear decline of friendship magic in the absence of an audience. However, we cannot conclusively deduct what happened on that particular Tuesday because it represents just one of those billions of unpredictable coin tosses.

Maybe on that day, certain events transpired that represent the last great vestige of Harmony in Equestria. On the other hoof, maybe it was the turning point that led to equine racial hatred.

Like Schrödinger's cat, its fate is all possibilities at once until the box is actually opened. So what happens when the show actually depicts the events of that fateful Tuesday? Let's find out.

- If the historical event in question is negative, then it will still be framed in the context of a cautionary tale or morality play. Our very act of observation will transform this tragic history into a friendship lesson.

- If, on the other hoof, the historical event in question is already positive, then this only further proves the initial observation upon which the Theorem of Transdimensional Quantum Esquestritude was founded - that, so long as we are watching Equestria, its final outcome will always be friendship.

In conclusion, the portal to Equestria is real. Our dimensions are entangled and entwined, and it is precisely this exchange that creates the friendship magic upon which we all rely.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Jihad With Different Aspects

Jihad literally means striving or doing one's best to achieve something, and its practitioners (mujahidin) are those who devote themselves fully to obtaining God's good pleasure by opposing those forces that seek to defeat His religion and the upholding of His word. It is far more complex and abstract than actual war, known in Arabic as qital.

A major principle of jihad is enjoining good and forbidding evil (amr bi al-ma'ruf wa nahiy 'an al-munkar), which involves promoting virtues and trying to block the spread of vices. The Islamic community, introduced by the Qur'an, is envisioned as a model community that makes every effort to exemplify what the Prophet brought to its members: Thus We have made you a community justly balanced, that you might be witnesses for all people, and the Messenger may be a witness for you (2:143).

Aspects of jihad

The first Revelation contained the command Read!, although there was little to read among the Arabs and most of them were illiterate. Thus, many scholars have deduced that this command means that believers should use their intellectual and spiritual faculties to discern God's acts in the universe and His laws in the universe's creation and operation, and thereby purify their minds of superstition through acquiring true knowledge based on observation and contemplation.

By satisfying their minds through studying the Divine signs in the universe and cleansing their hearts of sins, people secure a balanced life. Constantly aware of His supervision and of their need to seek forgiveness at all times, people will break their carnal selves' forbidden desires and, through prayer, be able to do good deeds.

Thus Read! signifies an action. For God's Messenger, pure and without superstition, it meant he would have to start his mission of informing his people of God's revelations and how to read the signs in the universe in order to purify their minds of superstition and their hearts of sin. He would enlighten them, intellectually and spiritually, by instructing them in both the Qur'an and the universe: We have sent among you, of yourselves, a Messenger who recites to you Our signs, purifies you, and instructs you in the Book and in the Wisdom, and also instructs you in what you know not (2:151).

People are like raw minerals waiting to be purified and refined by Prophets, who remove the seal from their hearts and ears and lift the veils from their eyes. Thus enlightened, people can understand the meaning of the Divine laws of nature, which are signs of His Existence and Unity, and penetrate into the subtle reality of things and events. Only those who are guided by Prophets can attain the high status that God expects them to attain. Prophets also instruct people in the Book (the Qur'an) and in Wisdom (the Sunna [1]).

The Prophet teaches us what we do not know, and we will continue to learn from him about how to purify ourselves from sin until the Day of Judgment. Such great saints as 'Ali ibn Abu Talib, 'Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani, Imam Ghazzali, Imam Rabbani, Fudayl ibn 'Iyad, Ibrahim ibn Adham, Bishr al-Khafi, and others who might have been Prophets if God had not ended that function with Prophet Muhammad, have followed this way.

Jihad, which enables believers to keep their belief vigorous and active, has two aspects. The first is the greater jihad, which involves fighting superstition, wrong convictions, carnal desires, and evil inclinations in the pursuit of intellectual and spiritual enlightenment. The second is the lesser jihad, which involves encouraging others to follow this path. While usually understood in a military sense, it is far more than that it consists of every action done by a believer or a believing community to advance the cause of Islam for His sake by ways of which He has approved. These two aspects cannot be separated, for success in one helps the believer achieve success in the other.

The Prophet perfectly combined these two aspects. Testimonials to his unequalled courage when facing his enemies are found in numerous history books, as are accounts of his spiritual battles during the nights and while fasting. Even though God had forgiven all of his sins, he once asked 'A'isha, when she thought his persistence in prayer to be excessive: "Shall I not be a slave grateful to God?" He also would pray: "O God, I seek refuge in your pleasure from

Your wrath, in Your forgiveness from Your punishment, and with You from You. I cannot praise You as You praise Yourself."

His Companions followed his example as best they could. They were as sincere and humble as dervishes in worshipping God at night. Sincere in their deeds, they did everything only for His sake. If our jihad is to be successful, this is the path that we must follow. We must defeat our pride, self-regard, and insincerity, and strive to acquire self-control, spread the truth to others, overcome our carnal desires and animal impulses, and encourage others to do likewise in order to obtain God's good pleasure. The Prophet said about these two aspects: "The eyes of two people will never witness the fire of Hell: The eyes of the soldier who guards the frontiers and on battlefields, and the eyes of one who cries for fear of God."

In Surat al-Nasr, the Qur'an describes both types of jihad: When the help of God comes, and victory, and you see people entering God's religion in throngs, then glorify the praise of your Lord, and seek His forgiveness, for He is Relenting, Merciful (110:1-3).

Stages of jihad

After he received the first Revelation, the command Read!, God's Messenger returned home in excitement. He was sleeping wrapped in a cloak "enwrapped" by the suffering of people and the heaviness of his responsibility, when God commanded him: O enwrapped one! Keep the vigil the night long, save a little (a half of it or diminish a little or add a little), and recite the Qur'an in measure. For We shall charge you with a word of weight (73:1-5).

The short period between the first revelation and the public preaching was meant to prepare the Prophet for what lay ahead. He was to keep night vigils and recite the Qur'an in measure, because during the night impressions are keener and recitation is more penetrating. Shortly thereafter, it was revealed: O enshrouded one, arise and warn. Magnify Your Lord, purify your robes, and flee defilement. Show no favor, seeking worldly gain. And, for your Lord's sake, be patient (74:1-7).

Thus was the Prophet ordered to begin his mission. He began with his relatives and nearest kin, and then reached out to his tribe after receiving the revelation: Warn your tribe of nearest kindred (26:214). This was followed by public preaching and various reactions: derision, threats, torture of followers, offers of the most alluring kind, and boycott.

In Makkah, God's Messenger never resorted to or allowed retaliation, for Islam came only to bring people out of the darkness of unbelief and into the light of belief, to free them from serving that which is not God to serving the One God, and to elevate them from the pit of "earth" to the height of "heaven." Islam also came to establish inner peace, which leads to people being at peace with themselves, with God and nature, and then engenders peace on a global scale. As peace and order are fundamental in Islam, it always seeks to spread peacefully and only uses force as the last resort to maintain its existence against those who seek to maintain the corrupted order they built on injustice, oppression, self-interest, exploitation, the usurpation of others' rights, and the blocking of freedom of belief.

Some rules related to jihad

Believers cannot exceed the limits established by God. In the case of jihad, some of these rules are as follows:

- As believers have sold themselves to God in exchange for Paradise (9:111), they cannot strive for any causes based upon fame, material gain, and racial or other similar ideological beliefs. They can strive only to attain God's good pleasure.

- They cannot fight those who do not oppose them, cannot engage in indiscriminate killing and pillage, and must remain honorable while fighting (no deliberate killing of women, children, or the elderly, mutilation of corpses, and destruction of land and crops). Force is to be used only when there is no other choice (2:190).

Conclusion

We must consider jihad in its entirety. Those who say one thing and then do another cause nothing but trouble in the ranks of Muslims. Since they cannot discipline themselves and overcome self-regard, ostentation, and the desire to dominate, they bring only disharmony to the cause of Islam. On the other hand, those who live in almost total seclusion and try to attain some high spiritual station without working to promote the truth reduce Islam to mere mysticism, like certain aspects of yoga. Such people argue that a Muslim's foremost duty is to acquire spiritual maturity so as to be saved from Hell. What they fail to realize is that those who regard themselves as safe from Hell are deceived, for God decrees that we should continue to serve Him as long as we live (15:99).

Thus we can say that jihad is a balance of internal and external strife. Reaching spiritual perfection and helping others do so are points of consideration. Attaining internal perfection is the greater jihad; helping others attain it is the lesser jihad. When you separate one from the other, jihad is no longer jihad. Indolence is born from one and anarchy from the other. However, we expect one Muhammadan spirit to be born. As is always the case, this is possible only by following and conforming to God's Messenger. How happy are those who search for a way to salvation for others as much as they do for themselves. And how happy are those who remember to save themselves while saving others.

Between Marx’s early 1840s theses on the Jewish Question and his writings on the American Civil War, he was engaged in another dispute over the periodization of capitalist economic, and ostensibly racial, formations, this time with American economist and adviser to the Lincoln Administration Henry Charles Carey. The one exception Marx made to his critical appraisal of Carey is the latter’s writing on slavery, specifically the difference that Carey saw between British slavery in Jamaica and slavery in the US. Marx’s critical perception of Carey’s confusion of ‘the “underdeveloped” conditions of the United States for “normal conditions”’, as against the ‘positive interest’ he had in Carey’s book on slavery, are concomitant, not only because the latter appears in a 14 June 1853 letter to Engels in which he recapitulates the same critique he had made a year earlier of Carey in a letter to his German émigré friend in America, Joseph Weydemeyer (5 March 1853), but because Marx viewed slavery as the racial economic formation responsible for the ‘“underdeveloped” conditions in the United States’, as well as for Carey’s theoretical confusion of the latter with ‘normal conditions’. Patrisse Cullors co-wrote a book in 2016 called “When They Call You a Terrorist.” When somebody calls you a terrorist they are generally correct, especially when your long term mentor is a convicted domestic terrorist from The Weather Underground like Eric Mann. 

Jenny Durkan is the Mayor of Seattle and former U.S. Attorney under President Obama. President Obama appointed Jenny Durkan to a U.S. Attorney position in Washington D.C. during Obama’s presidency. While mayoring the city of Seattle, Jenny Durkan allowed anarchists and Black Lives Matter extremists to take over a police station and create a murderous autonomous zone in Seattle. A reliable source speaking under the condition of anonymity claims Mayor Jenny Durkan is a plant, working sinisterly for a dark state clandestine organization desiring to create civil unrest in America, simply to cheat American out of a fair and honest 2020 U.S. presidential election.
