@darthhopehay tagging you because this was your suggestion
I picked a random spot in that episode and ran with it, and inserted my guy Flare (link contains an image of him with his glow up paint job), because why not. This is my attempt at getting back into writing, so it might be a little clunky, but eh. If you wanna see his OG look, you can look here
Blurb under the cut, because I don't think it'd be great to make a super ultra mega long post and make it so that everyone has to scroll 5 miles to get past it
"Ugh, loud baby noises! Listen, I'm just here getting my sugar!"
Moon stared up at Lunar, momentarily baffled. "You what?"
On the other side of Lunar, Sun curled his tiny, now toddler sized hands into fists. "This motherf—"
A sharp squeal pierced the air and Lunar blinked, abruptly stopping what he'd been doing and stepping back to look at Sun. "....Why do I get the feeling that I was just cursed at?"
Sun's discontented baby sounds continued, and Lunar let out a heavy sigh. "You know, whatever Moon did, he did a good job getting Sun's energy right, 'cuz this one has just a lot of hostility, and it feels like a lot of cursing is coming out of it."
Both babies began to babble at the same time and Lunar makes a face, not happy with the situation he's found himself in; small children, he could handle. Babies? Not so much. He watched for a moment as the two babies that looked suspiciously similar to his elder brothers began to chatter and coo to each other, then rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the cabinet he'd been digging around in, determined to find the numerous Reeses peanut butter cups he'd stashed there. Everything was as normal as he'd expect, all things considered.... and then Moon climbed up onto the countertop and snatched the jar of peanut-free peanut butter.
He stepped back, his confusion palpable. ".....I don't understand how that child just climbed up the counter. Ok then."
Moon hopped down from the counter as carefully as his baby body would allow, then uncapped the jar of peanut butter and stuffed his hand inside it, very messily beginning to write one letter at a time across the cupboards. Lunar stood back, a brow raised as he waited to see what was written. "C... A... LL... M.. ON... TY. Call Monty? Why would I—is that actually both of you?"
The pair of babies immediately squealed in response, and Sun picked up the discarded jar of peanut butter, angrily throwing it at Lunar. Lunar stepped to the side, concern written all over his face as Sun continued screeching. "Oh god, ok, I'm assuming you're screaming at me, but I can't tell. I'm gonna call Monty."
Lunar picked up the jar of peanut butter, placing it back onto the kitchen island before dialing Monty's number. It rang once... twice... three times... then a fourth, and then promptly went right to voice mail, much to no one's surprise.
Not bothering to leave a message, Lunar hung up and sighed heavily. "Ok, I called Monty, but it went to voice mail. I'm not sure what you want me to do here."
"Oh, you've GOT to be kidding me." Moon's expression soured. "Of all the times for them to ignore their phone, why now?!"
Sun let out a string of angry obscenities, his rays flattening in distress. Dazzle was the only one home currently, and she was the last person he'd ever want to find out that he and Moon had been turned into babies.
Lunar lifted his hands, forcing an awkward, apologetic smile. "I'll wait a bit and then try again, ok? Monty's probably busy right now; I'm sure it's not a huge deal. We'll figure this out, I promise."
Sun screeched, picking up the lid to the jar of peanut butter and throwing it at Lunar, only succeeding in bouncing it off of Lunar's leg. Lunar picked up the lid, opting to look anywhere but at his brothers as he screwed it back onto the jar. He didn't need to understand them to know they were less than happy, and he could feel it every time they looked at him. Part of him wondered what he should do; they were his brothers, so they knew how to do things and take care of themselves, and they'd likely be peeved if he tried to help them. At the same time, though, they were small and significantly weaker than normal. There were things they were going to need help with, regardless of if they wanted it or not. Solar was out, so he wouldn't be able to help with this, and Monty was preoccupied doing....... Monty things, so they weren't available at the moment, either. Lunar considered calling Earth, but it'd been one of her bad days, and she was likely in bed resting. Lunar felt bad for even entertaining the idea of bothering her, so he decided that she also wasn't an option.
That left only one person in the immediate family. Flare.
Lunar attempted to call Monty again, but when it went to voice mail, he sighed. Yep. Flare was the only other option.
He dialed Flare's number, and after the first couple of rings, Flare answered, his voice as flat and unenthusiastic as ever. "Hello?"
Lunar smiled awkwardly. "Heeeeeeey, uh... we have a problem. I'm at Sun and Moon’s house, and I'm gonna need your help."
There was a pause before Flare responded, a hint of concern in his tone. "What kind of problem? Is everything ok?"
Lunar's gaze flicked over to Sun and Moon. Sun was sitting on the floor, giving the thousand-mile stare as his rays drooped, and Moon was anxiously pacing back and forth, cooing to himself. Lunar cleared his throat. "Uh, well... no one's hurt, but there's another issue. I have no idea how it happened, but Sun and Moon got turned into babies."
On his end of the call, Flare's brows lifted, and he made a face. "They what?"
"Got turned into babies. I'll send you a picture, lemme just—" There was a pause as Lunar snapped a photo of Sun and Moon and sent it to Flare.
Flare opened the image and looked at it, silent for a few seconds, before he seemingly made a decision. "I'll be right over. Don't let them out of your sight."
Lunar nodded. "Got it. The door should be unlocked, so you can just walk on in."
The call wrapped up, and Lunar turned his attention to his brothers, sighing softly. "Ok, so I did get someone's help, but it's not Monty."
Sun and Moon both looked up at Lunar, and Lunar continued. "Since Monty’s not picking up the phone, I called Flare. He's on his way now. Maybe he can help you guys get to Moon's lab or something, so this can be reverted."
Sun's small body tensed up, and Moon felt an immediate sense of dread. It's not that they disliked Flare. On the contrary, they thought he was a good guy. A lot of his actions and behavior were still dictated by programming and protocols, though. This meant that while he was definitely someone who'd keep them safe until they went back to normal, he was also likely to be a helicopter sibling.
Lunar herded both babies to the living room, and within minutes, Flare arrived, letting himself into the house. As he entered the living room area and spotted Sun and Moon, he immediately found himself locked into a staring contest with them, his expression blank aside from the way his brows shot up in surprise. Not taking his eyes off of them, he spoke. "....So this is what we're dealing with. Interesting."
Sun began to walk away, but Lunar blocked his path, chuckling awkwardly and very pointedly ignoring the way Sun made a series of angry baby noises at him. "Yeah... yeah, this is it."
Sun's angry babbling came to an immediate halt as he was scooped up by Flare, and he stared at Flare with wide eyes. "Flare, I'm about to lose my goddamn mind. Please, for the love of god, put me down."
Only hearing cooing sounds, Flare let out a soft huff and tilted his head, his rays slowly spinning and almost mimicking a buffering circle. A barely perceptible smile tugged at the corner of Flare's lips, and he did the exact opposite of what Sun wanted; he followed his programming and held Sun closer, one arm underneath Sun and supporting him there, while the other hand rested on Sun's back. Sun's rays shrank, and he felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him. The swirls within Flare's rays slowly went between being dimmer and brighter, and his entire demeanor softened.
Seeing the position Sun was in, Moon tried unsuccessfully to bite back a snicker. ".....How's the cuddling, Sun? You comfy?"
Sun immediately narrowed his eyes and glared at Moon. "Shut the hell up. Don't even talk to me."
Lunar and Flare watched intently as the babies babbled back and forth to each other, and Lunar couldn't help but chuckle, seeing the look on Sun's face. "Well someone's not very happy."
Flare huffed, his smile widening ever so slightly. "No, I would think not." He paused, then let out a soft sigh. "Are we taking them to Moon's lab then, or?...."
Lunar scrunched up his face, looking back and forth between Sun and Moon thoughtfully. "Mmmn..... we should, but I feel like we should do something else first."
Flare glanced down at Lunar, unbothered as Sun squirmed and attempted to wiggle out of his arms. "Such as?"
Lunar made sure to meet Moon's gaze, then Sun's, before he gave an impish grin. "I think Earth should see them. It's been a rough day for her, so this might help cheer her up."
Sun and Moon immediately began to screech in protest, and Flare arched an eyebrow in amusement. "You might be right, Lunar." He paused, then added, "What about Dazzle? I'm assuming she's asleep right now, and we shouldn't wake her up or leave her here alone."
Lunar made a sound in acknowledgment, shrugging his shoulders. "I'll stay here and keep an eye on things, in case she wakes up. You're the baby magnet; I'm sure you could manage a trip to Monty and Earth's place by yourself."
Flare sighed and shook his head, still smiling slightly to himself. "I suppose so. Try not to burn the house down while we're gone, ok? Sun would be pissed."
Lunar couldn't help but snicker. "Yeah, yeah, I know. If I can help it, I won't destroy anything."
Flare shifted Sun in his arms and then began to approach Moon. Moon began to back away, his head craned back to look up at Flare. "....Pick me up and I'll fight you.”
Without hesitation, Flare scooped Moon up despite the warning and hummed. "Knowing you, you just threatened me. Am I right?"
Moon screeched, smacking Flare's face with his tiny hands and squirming as much as possible, and Flare sighed again. He shifted both babies in his hold, making sure they were secure, and then began to walk toward the door. "Alright, we're off, Lunar."
"Ok, have fun. Let me know how Earth and Monty react to Sun and Moon." Lunar grinned, watching as Flare made for the exit.
Just as he was about to reach the front door, Moon's tiny hands plopped right over his eyes, and he paused. "Moon, unless you want me to accidentally drop you and Sun on your heads, you probably shouldn't do that. Move your hands, please."
Moon stubbornly refused, keeping his hands in place, and Flare raised an eyebrow. "I'll make it up to you and Sun once this is all sorted out and you're back to normal, I promise. I'm only taking you to see Earth because it'll make her happy. Do you really want to deprive her of happiness after how much pain she's been in today?"
There was some hesitation, before Moon reluctantly moved his hands, grumbling unhappily under his breath. "....Oh, you stupid, no good, manipulative twink. There will be payback for this, so help me god."

Just a Game (Malcolm Wilkerson X Reader)
Masterlist | Request Something! | Tip Me :)
Summary: While at the local arcade, Malcolm decides to try out a new dancing game, and everyone’s surprised to see that he gets the highest score. But the next time he’s back, someone else has beaten his score. After an indirect rivalry for a few weeks, he finally meets you and challenges you to a dance-off on the machine.
A/N: last malcolm fic ever!!! Y/I means your initials. posted separately bc the ask was long, but you can find the og request here
***
By some miracle, Malcolm was able to convince his Krelboyne friends to ditch their studying just once and go do something else. He wanted to do something fun and normal, and plus, Malcolm had already finished his homework in advance, as usual.
It looked a bit strange to see Dabney and Lloyd’s faces lit up by CRT screens and colored lights instead of being shoved nose-deep in a book. The boys walked around the arcade, trying to find something interesting enough to spend their quarters on.
“Hey, Malcolm.” Lloyd grinned smugly, jerking a thumb back to point out the machine behind him. “You should do this one.”
Looking behind Lloyd, Malcolm saw the Dance Dance Revolution game. Two little kids were bouncing around on it, but it seemed to be for their own enjoyment because they hadn’t put any coins in to start the game.
Malcolm furrowed his brows. “Why?”
His friend shrugged. “I think it’d be funny.”
“You play it then.”
Lloyd laughed. “Absolutely not!” I’d look ridiculous.”
Rolling his eyes, Malcolm looked over at Dabney. The boy furiously shook his head. “Oh, I don’t think Mother would like that. Besides, I don’t think I’d be able to with my scoliosis.”
“Yeah, with your minimal curves.” Malcolm reminded, but carried on. His eyes landed on Stevie, but his friend spoke before he could move on.
“Don’t look… at me.” Stevie teased, making the group laugh.
Feeling loosened up, Malcolm eventually got on the dance machine. He hoped that no one he knew, no one cool anyway, would witness what would most likely end up being one of Malcolm’s top five most embarrassing moments. The upbeat, almost deafening voice counted down, and Malcolm did his best to shake out all his nerves. He just hoped this wouldn’t be too humiliating.
Surprisingly, it wasn’t. In fact, it was the complete opposite.
Malcolm was like a god on that tiny flashing dancefloor. That was likely an exaggeration, but not in the eyes of his friends who witnessed the moves.
The boys flocked to the genius’s side when he hit the last step. They all watched the giant screen, Malcolm’s pants barely being heard over the machine’s music as it tallied up his score.
“New high score! Nice!” A voice from the game exclaimed. The boys turned to Malcolm with shock and excitement. Malcolm would’ve been weirded out if they hadn’t been looking at him like that since the day they all met.
“What can’t you do?” Dabney asked with wonder in his eyes.
Malcolm smugly entered his initials next to his high score, getting a high from the compliments and attention. Eventually, they all moved on to another game, but Malcolm walked around with a bounce in his step until they left the arcade.
***
Malcolm was at the arcade again just a few days later, this time with his brothers. Their parents all but shoved them out the front door with a couple bucks crumpled in their hands, and the boys didn’t bother to protest.
While Dewey went to the claw machine and Reese started playing a shooter game, Malcolm slinked off to Dance Dance Revolution. He wasn’t going to play it; once was enough for him. But he wanted to see his initials next to the game’s highest score.
“What the…” Malcolm muttered when his eyes landed on the screen. For some reason, ‘M.W.’ wasn’t the highest scorer. Instead, it was ‘Y/I’.
A sudden feeling of competitiveness and jealousy swelled in him, and he jumped on the dancefloor without a second thought.
He wasn’t as lucky as he was the first time he played. It took Malcolm five dollars to get his name back in spot one. He was damp with sweat, and his legs felt like jelly, but he stumbled away from the game with pride.
But that wasn’t the last time he’d see the initials ‘Y/I’. Every week or so, Malcolm would come to the arcade to see that this mystery person had once again knocked him down to second place. Every time, Malcolm refused to leave until he beat them again.
It wasn’t that serious, he knew that. But something in Malcolm compelled him to turn his bucks into quarters so he could beat a stranger he’d never seen before at a dancing game for kids. All Wilkersons seemed to have some kind of gene that make them obsessive over the smallest things.
Malcolm started to wonder who this ‘Y/I’ person was. He’d presumably never seen them before, and when he thought about it, he couldn’t remember anyone with those initials.
As he rounded the corner, Malcolm slowed to a stop after seeing someone on the dancing game. He stood a couple steps away, enough to give the girl space while still being able to see her moves being scored on the screen. There wasn’t a single miss, only a mix of ‘good,’ ‘great,’ and ‘perfect.’ Malcolm noticed she was getting slightly more ‘perfect’ scores than the other two, but he tried not to let that bother him. Surely, this random person couldn’t possibly beat his most recent high score.
When the song ended, Malcolm secretly watched from behind the girl as her score was tallied.
“New high score! Nice!”
“No way,” Malcolm said flatly in disbelief.
Okay, that was terrible timing. The only thing that could make this moment more surprising would be if this girl turned out to be whoever he was secretly competing with.
“You’re ‘Y/I’?”
You turned around, startled by the unknown voice behind you. Malcolm’s wide blue eyes stared at you, and you almost laughed at the look of pure shock on his face.
“Yes…?” You stepped off the small platform to stand in front of him. “And who are you?”
Malcolm threw a bitter glance at the leaderboard, seeing his initials once again being knocked down to second place. “M.W.”
Almost immediately, you lit up. “Wait, really?” Malcolm nodded, not understanding what you were so happy about. “Oh, man! I’ve been wondering if I’d ever run into you.”
“Same here,” Malcolm responded, certainly less enthusiastic than you. But that didn’t seem to affect your demeanor.
“It’s crazy how we keep beating each other’s scores.” You comment, nodding towards the game as you look at him.
Malcolm nodded, an idea suddenly springing to mind. “Yeah, yeah… Hey! You know what we should do?” You looked at the boy curiously, urging him to go on. “Let’s do multiplayer! See who’s really the best.” He laughed like it was a joke, but deep down, it wasn’t. He needed to beat you once and for all so he could finally stop obsessing over this stupid game.
Luckily, you were on board. You hopped up on the platform, digging around in your pocket for your quarters. Malcolm quickly did the same as you, letting a smug smile twitch on his face when his character was ready before yours.
Malcolm focused all of his willpower on nailing his moves. Every ‘perfect’ that flashed on the screen fueled him.
You seemed to be doing just as well. You had the same determined expression as Malcolm, although you were more loose with your movements. Malcolm moved with precision to ensure a perfect score, while you just followed the screen and your muscle memory while bopping your head to the music.
Malcolm knew he would win. So when the song was finally over, Malcolm leaned back against the bar behind him and looked smugly at the screen. You stayed standing, watching the screen with Malcolm as you caught your breath.
“Huh?”
Surely, it must’ve been some kind of joke. A miscalculation. A bug in the code. There was no way this was actually happening.
“Oh wow! We tied!” You held your hand up for Malcolm to high-five, but he was too busy staring at the screen. Although neither of you beat your previous high score, you somehow managed to tie. “Come on, man, don’t leave me hanging.”
“Wha…” Malcolm looked at you as if he forgot you were there. “Oh.” He slapped your hand, considerably less amused about this than you were.
“That was fun!”
“Rematch?” It sounded more like a command than a question, as Malcolm was already looking around for more quarters.
“Nah, I’m kinda tired.” Your response disappointed him, but he understood. “How about Pac-Man?”
Now, that surprised him. You wanted to play a different game with him and not have a dance-off until you have blisters all over?
“What about our scores?”
You shrugged. “I dunno. It’s just a game.” You seemed to miss the baffled look on Malcolm’s face. He didn’t understand how you were being so casual when he spent weeks thinking about this game and, subsequently, you. “So, wanna play with me?”
The boy blinked, trying to process what was happening. All this time, he had been having a one-sided beef with you while you were doing this for fun. Of course, you were doing it for fun; it was a game.
In the midst of wondering what was wrong with himself, Malcolm realized that you were still waiting for an answer. To be honest, he was enjoying talking to you right now. And if he put aside the competition he thought you were having, you two seemed to work well together.
“Sure!” Malcolm accidentally blurted out, but you didn’t seem to mind. Instead, you grinned and turned around.
You skipped away, waving a hand behind you. “Come on then!”

putting this in the tags was dumb so im taking it out (and making it more coherent 😭):
this is about tttb if im honest ,:) so im gonna reference it in this
“but reese how are they a good team?” they arent i just like them and think theyd blow up another pizzeria together.
BUT I DO HAVE THOUGHTS
like, picture this. charlie is a menace we know this and lizzie kind of is too but u take the afton brothers and now youve got evan whos rlly smart and then greg whos resourceful and smart and pretty observant and then mike who brings seemingly nothing to the table. but i digress. in the games we know he's pretty good at simple problem solving and all that, and we know he can be careful. on top of that, he's incredibly good at following directions and is most of the time fit to carry them out. now is comparing teen michael to adult michael fair or equal? no. BUT. Michael is strong, he may not be incredibly smart but hes not stupid. and above all he DOES care for his family and is passionate about this. except he aslo just doesnt apply himself to the rabbit hunters (which makes sense and is one of the things i picked up on in his characterization pretty quickly.) even when it comes to helping out with simpler things like comfort. for example, Charlie, Lizzie, AND Evan all rushed to comfort greg after he got out of the pizzeria after blowing it up. michael did not. which makes sense! not only does he not like greg much, he also just isnt a comforting prescance for greg. and when evan was panicking over cassidy and all that, michael only offered minimal comfort(? we dont know what he said so idk) until greg could come and comfort evan. he does not apply himself. i feel like im rambling in circles im sorry but like,,, mike is fast, he's strong, hes observant, and hes smart, but he doesnt use any of that. charlie is quick and smart and resourceful. Lizzie is also smart and quick, greg is incredibly resourceful and observant and good with plans and quick decisions. evan is good with quick thinking and emotional support, and hes smart too. theyre all smart im just talking myself in a circle. but michaels skills just havent been there because he doesnt show them. he just kinda sulks and does what hes told to. which fits his character a lot. he doesnt like the name rabbit hunters, he doesnt like greg, hes nervous around evan, and while hes MUCH closer with them, he still argues a lot with charlie and lizzie.
im just saying if he applied more of himself and put himself more into the team, he could do a lot.
and ik that greg doesnt let him make decisions bc hes not the MOST trustworthy, he could still do things
ANYWAYS I COULD BE 100% WRONG ABOUT THIS IM JUST THROWING WORDS AROUND ATP
arcadefox is such a duo. they hate each other but they have no clue how awesome of a team theyd be

Random Pokemon Family Facts!
Reminder for those who don't know. I repurposed the versions of the Eddsworld boys I Headcanonned for YEARS and made my head ons into Pokemon characters.
Tumblr media
Names-
Red Family Last Name: Rosdahl name means Valley or Clearing, just BC both parents have grazing animals as starter Pokemon.
Purple Family Last Name: Beaumont means Beauty, because the family has a strong appreciation for beautiful things, whether their physical, visual or emotional.
Blue Family Last Name: Sullivan means Dark Eyed because the family all cover their eyes.
Green Family Last Name Griffiths BC Griffin is a cat and BC of Beserk.
Nathan (Natt) = Matt, Everette (Ette) = Edd, Thorin = Tord, Tristan (Tris) = Tom
Thorin, it's a play on the fact Tord is also another name for Thor, and also bc he's a thorn in people's side in the og. Natt sounds like Matt, and Ette sounds like Eddie. Lastly Tristan for Tom, bc of og Tom's many many lost Trists in canon XD
Other name changes are Beatrix (Trixxi) = Tally, Reece(Reeses) = Ricky.
Changing Tally's named bc I like Trixxi better and the idea that she's copying her mom's way of spelling her name. Alsoo Ethan definitely called her Beat n Rice as a kid and still does-
Trixxi: Hey Et-
Ethan: BEATS N RICE
Trixxi: STOP IT
And for Ricky to Reece, it's so it's easier to tell him and Nicky's names apart. Also Reese's as a nickname is adorable.
Next I'll do family themed if you guys are interested!
Just thought you guys would like to know.
I used to post random headcanons here a lot, but since people seemed to not like my pokemon content as much I kindaaa stopped. So. Imma start again.

Early MCYTblr Interviews: georgeeehd
today's interviewee is reese/georgeeehd/lmanburg/tommyofcolor! dreamlying member, mcytblr og, and the person who discovered that dream wasn't registered to vote. below is a transcript of questions and answers!
Q: What was your experience in wider MCYTblr?
A: I don’t have much experience with wider mcytblr. Maybe I used to reblog Grian stuff on my main blog, before all this DSMP shit. There wasn’t much of a Dream community when I started posting, much less one for DreamNotFound (surprisingly, Dreamnap was the popular ship of the two early on????? so bizarre to me), so I dug out my microcosm immediately. There was never a wider myctblr for me.
Q: What was your experience in critblr/dreamlying specifically?
A: The notion that dreamlying is the spawn of critblr is interesting to me, because I agree with you now, but I wouldn’t have at the time. Critblr was a tumblr community. Dreamlying was a friend group, predating critblr. I considered myself dteamblr for a really long time— I never felt aligned with the critblr movement because that was always Jason’s territory, really. I don’t mention it to nitpick or to scold, but like, I’m into this archiving thing, too, so I wanted to opine on how we label these groups. Maybe there should be a distinction made between what we considered ourselves vs. what we actually were.
My experience in proto-critblr was pretty cushy because it was all mine. Me and my contemporaries had a following, we were respected, we had smart things to say, we were funny, established, etc. Think, “The School of Athens.” I definitely grew a bit of an ego with how popular I was, which I’m sure will come across in this interview, haha.
At times I felt a little unchallenged, like people were only agreeing with me not because I was right, but because I was saying anything at all. At the same time, I was incredibly defensive and insecure, so the little pushback I might have gotten would bother me terribly. I was probably overreactive and mean. I was fifteen then, and I’m nineteen now, so there’s lots of things I would’ve handled differently, if I could.
In terms of my experience with dreamlying, I like what Ozzie had to say. We were all just very, very good friends. There’s not much else to it. In my first discord server, “dream lying” was a hidden messaging channel where we could critique Dream Team freely. “Dream lying” was supposed to parody the phrase “dream truthing.” So we were basically this tiny little secret society, at the start. There was no way we wouldn’t have hit it off.
Q: Are there any events that stand out to you?
A: A lot. Too many. Some are more personally relevant than historically relevant, and I don’t really know where to draw the line. The voter registration fiasco was a big one, but there were other smaller things… I was always in some fuckin’ controversy or another! The magic 8 ball says, Ask again later.
Q: Was being in MCYTblr an overall positive or negative experience for you?
A: Undoubtedly positive! I don’t even know where to start with this question. I met a lot of wonderful people that I still keep in contact with today, right? But beyond that, I feel like being in this community helped me grow a lot, like, personally. I was thinking and writing a lot. I learned so, so much, about people, about the internet, about fandom, about myself. It was such an expansive experience.
I guess I should mention that my time with mcytblr was incredibly stressful. My involvement in the fandom weighed heavily on my mental health. I felt very watched, and I still do. At my worst, I was hospitalized. (I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t mention my mcyt-induced mental hospital stint in my mcyt interview.) None of that really moves me, though, ‘cause it was all just part of the experience, and I find it all pretty funny, looking back.
Q: A few people have mentioned the account mcyttruth in relation to you, specifically around a callout post. What happened there? [I had misremembered-- I meant to ask this to Jason lmanburg, not Reese lmanburg.]
A: The mcyttruth callout wasn’t about me, but my discord server, dteamblr 2. I was not as involved here— at this point, critblr was in full bloom, and this server was like a rendezvous for people who liked dreamlying and modcord blogs (modcord was another friend group, like dreamlying, but critblr-based).
Regarding that callout specifically, I don’t know. Probably, there were too many r-slurs, too many jokes about hating Ranboo, the usual. There were a lot of callouts (for me or for people I was friends with), and I never really took them seriously. I mean, honestly, the url “mcyttruth” alone is derivative. Do you know how many times I’ve read the words “mcyt” and “truth”? Everything about this is a blur to me.
Q: I suppose I would ask-- given the current events surrounding many of the creators who were popular in 2020/2021, do you feel that dreamlying has been vindicated in their criticisms of creators?
A: Yes, but I would have said yes in 2020, because who these people are was as obvious to me then as it is now. Our criticisms weren’t like, headcanons that we made up to be mean, they were plain old observations. Wilbur was openly mentally ill, creepy, and generally dismissive of other people. Not to say that there aren’t good things about him either, but, of course this is the kind of guy to make his girlfriend clean up after him. There’s a million cautionary tales about guitar stringers with floppy hair under a beanie, whiny song lyrics, and a masturbatory approach to self-loathing.
Dream’s not this person anymore, so that’s not why I bring it up, but think back to when his old Reddit account was exposed for being active on r/The_Donald. That was everything we were ever talking about! That was Dream being exactly who he was— a young white man from Florida. I love Dream, always have, always will. Acknowledging that he is/was a whole person with flaws and unsavory politics, I think, is truer fanhood than the idolization everyone puts him through.
You use the word “vindicated” to acknowledge that we were heavily criticized ourselves. Most of that was on the basis of privacy— you know, whether or not it’s okay to speculate on people’s personal lives. It doesn’t matter that we were “right” so often, that we still are, and always will be, because people will focus more on the original sin of having speculated in the first place.
I used to love vindication because it made me feel smart, like I could see things that no one else could. Now it just makes me sad. I don’t think it has anything to do with smarts, nor would I care if it did. I think people just don’t let themselves think that far. You know, “I don’t want to make assumptions,” “It’s none of my business,” “It’s not that deep,” etc. Maybe there’s no instinct to look deeper at all. It really just makes me sad.
Q: Is there anything else you'd like to add/have archived?
A: I’d like to ask everybody to stay critical. The hivemind response to recent events have shown me that this fandom remains as shallow, unthinking, conformative, elementary… as it was four years ago.
Thank you for conducting these interviews in the first place. It's nice hearing everyone’s voices again.

Do you think she could become a regular again? I hate how her and Daniel’s dynamic was written off, and I’m praying she’s not the stalker. Also, AAAA SARAHS COMING BACK FOR CHRISTMAS
Hi there! So based on a few things we know here’s my opinion (which totally take with a grain of salt because who really wants my opinion. Also I’m sorry if my answer is really long)
No, I don’t think Sarah will come back as a regular or a main character (as much as we all want her to) because the whole reason we saw her character unravel essentially in season 3 (and the first episode of season 4) and never really recover is because Rachel Dipillo wanted to leave acting all together. (Unless something has changed for her) I think we’re just getting her as a guest appearance.
Otherwise I hypothesize, based on other actors/actresses contracts in the One Chicago Franchise, we could have had Sarah Reese until at least season 7 or 8. Or beyond if she wanted to renew her contract and the writers had more storylines for Sarah. (I’m only saying if the writers had storylines for her because Colin Donnell, who played Connor Rhodes has stated that he didn’t want to leave the show when he did in season 5. The writers had merely run out of ideas for his character)
Now based on the preview we all watched I’m not as worried with hers and Dr. Charles’ interactions because as the synopsis posted by @crockettmarcel states and it seems to align with the preview we saw.
Goodwin's troubles persist. Charles clashes with his former resident over a depressed patient. Lenox and Ripley treat a car accident victim who recently reunited with his college sweetheart.
I’m more concerned with her interactions with Maggie because besides Dr. Charles and Goodwin, she’s the last of the OG cast left, that was close to Sarah. And it always bothered me there was never at least a goodbye scene with Sarah and everyone who helped her make it at Med.
Now as for her being Goodwin’s stalker, after watching the preview for the 10th time, I don’t think it’s her anymore. I have two possibilities: her new boyfriend, or unlikely, but we still can’t rule him out: Bert. But based on how rapidly he went downhill last season I really don’t think it’s Bert. But again we still can’t rule him out.

i actually hadn't seen that post-- but yes, that's it exactly! (and beware, sociology/culture nerd moment incoming, youve unlocked my secret hidden chasms of interest)
i think a large part of all of this is that i did start on more solid ground than you-- you were working from the ground up to construct an image of a then-dead culture, while i had watched it unfold in real time. it's part of what i said in the tags of some post a while ago; if we posit that every relationship between two people is a dialect of its own, with communities speaking their own "languages", then the death of a community is the death of a language. of Course you weren't getting the information you were looking for, you didn't have the memories that it would have taken to ask about them!
and, examining the notes of the post that finally did blow up, that was exactly it. i keep seeing things like "they know idotsblr? theyre the real deal" and "what did gay castle do?", as well as other people going "oh yeah i remember that happening! that reminds me of..." etx etc. it's primarily a matter of having the base knowledge to know what to ask in the first place, which you were already working doublespeed to try to get after the fact. and let's be real here, you got ridiculously far for someone who was piecing things together, and i absolutely loved watching you form rada in real time-- it was, like i said before, like watching someone come in from the outside and give words to everything id noticed about communities getting pushed to the fringe, and the focus on boundaries.
(one thing that i am interested in that you never got the chance to get to, as lilyfreshwater said in the notes, is the rest of mcytblr. critblr and dlying were the fringe, but when examining only fringes, a hole is left where the main group is. the more i hear from people, the more i think that the biggest pieces of the puzzle have been sitting in plain sight, in all their difficult-to-archive glory: the discords, groupchats, individual friend groups, and the odd way that popular mcytblr tumblrs seem to be almost canonized in the fandom.)
and, of course, i just like having my favorite time period all in one place to look at; it makes me happy to have a little slice of it on the blog, and to revisit that time in my life from a considerably less manic standpoint.
Thanks for the followup. I mostly agree -- and again I could never regret putting together RADA -- but there are a few things I'd like to disagree/clarify:
Although truthing/criticizing/etc. was on the decline when I first started posting and reblogging in April 2021, I don't think OG 2020 mcytblr was never totally dormant or dead. I focused on Dreamlying because they were still posting by the time I joined, and that presence of activity was enough for me to start thinking and wondering.
I agree my perspective would have benefited from first-hand experiences with mcytblr 2020, but I don't think interpreting the resulting counterculture/fringe necessarily required I be a part of it, or have had first-hand experience with it. In fact, it was only until I had been blocked by a regular mcytblr mutual 1 or 2 months after publicly interacting with the fringe that I realized -- and quite painfully -- I wasn't part of the mainstream anymore.
This in turn is why I didn't discuss much of regular mcytblr. Structurally, it had become so large to be self-sustaining, and possibly self-documenting. But personally it was also because (I was the last one to realize) I had crossed the floor the first time I ever reblogged georgesoot, or warpedfungusonastick, or reese, or fruityranboo.

ok but the fact that rhys darby's wife is named rosie.
their names together. rhys and rosie. rosie and rhys. i swear to god the alliteration makes it sound like they're a pair of garden gnomes or some shit.
like this is an animated villain henchmen duo that serves some campy villain in a kid's cartoon. this is the name of an old-fashioned candy shop or some shit. these are names you would give to your two cats who are siblings. these are not the names of two grown adults who are married to each other and have kids together.

Welp if the fuzzyaya is gonna comment, I might as well hop on yk (I was gonna leave a comment on this post and it has Evolved a lot).
Cuz like, the fact we got the same duo (Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick) that wrote the first two movies plus Ryan Reynold's recognizably great input, plus the movie's director's notes with Shawn Levy, plus Zeb Wells that has comic book writing credits for things like X-Men (admittedly the comic doesn't work with Wolverine, and overlooking everything, it doesn't shock me that none of these writers have ever worked with the character bc it showed), should've spelled a success for at least the Deadpool side of things. But this movie has so many pacing and character development flaws that it pisses me the fuck off.
So to get things out of the way, I think this movie fundamentally lost a lot of soul.
In an age where Marvel is hungrily looking for a win, Deadpool and Wolverine is what they need. In a time where fans are growing wary while waiting for a good story, we have to recognize we are still waiting.
Bc fr, the movie was definitely funny when it needed to be, but part of the charm of the Deadpool movies is that by the end, you felt something was achieved through all the craziness. That there's a definite heart despite the inhumanity of Wade's actions, because he's learning, as the movie progresses, to face something in himself.
When you get to the THIRD movie, you can't actually expect to go back from zero. You've had this character build relationships (which we basically don't see present throughout this thing) and learn through certain hardships (which somehow became like this is the first time we meet either of them at all with the lack of character development we face) and would you look at that, they went back to fucking zero. Both of them.
Like yes, it's good you didn't tarnish the incredible story of Logan, but fuck you for leaving us with a blank slate character. And Deadpool is literally taken out of what he earned in the previous films, which in turn cheapens his movies.
And don't get me started on the issues that obliterate any seconds where we're not on the main two. I went to see this movie with my best friend, who is certainly not a superhero fanatic like me, and she told me that in her experience, all the big movies she actually bothers to go see are what she'd categorized as fan service. And fuckkkkkk if that's not an essential issue of this movie. It's especially loud when you notice that the previous ones couldn't do this and now it feels like they're doing overtime, We waste too much time on characters that don't need to be there, and it's worse when you know that they're there only to show they can be. Chris Evans is a hilarious joke, but I didn't need the camera to cut to these characters just because we can recognize them (Sabretooth and Toad, cool addition but if they've got nothing to say why show them so much, and I can say the same with the Thor comments).
That said, my greatest issue with this movie is that their relationship doesn't push the story. It's all the other, external attributes that continuously create the plot, making Deadpool and Wolverine just there. Like, sure it'd be a different tone, but it could've very well been other mc's that could've gone through this adventure and gotten the job done, and that's depressing.
But really, it's definitely a problem that nothing is fortified by their journeys in the story. The lack of power in their presence leaves us with them not earning the story's purpose, and that's a shit thing to happen when it's one of the most anticipated returns in film.
But lets start with the OG baddie - Huge Ackman.
Wolverine doesn't get enough development in this movie. The fact that we're supposed to agree with his reaction that is whole heartedly unearned, bc Laura is not enough if he has no true understanding of who she really is, makes me actually sad. I don't want to criticize this movie, I was really fucking excited to see it. But I have to admit, as someone that likes to both write and read, that it feels cheap to expect the viewer to "understand" by watching a previous film to give weight to this new, different character that only wears the same skin of someone we can recognize. This Wolverine is a man plagued with guilt, and his journey is corrected by a young girl that an alternate, and self-admittedly better, him was able to save. How does that help him overcome himself? In what ways does that even give that much effect? And regardless of that choice, that brings up another big question. How does being with Deadpool actually give him a chance to change? To repent and fix what he'd broken? Really, it's just a leeway for him to live in a world free from the one he made, and we have no reason to think he actually earned it. Sure, we've seen someone else that's been worthy, but this one is drunk and sad, until he's given a short speech, and then suddenly fights to be worth something to Charles' expectations, which is meaningless to us, because Marvel has made us expertly understand that these characters having the same name doesn't mean they are the same person. So, Wolverine isn't the Wolverine we know, and we don't get to know him because he gets a resolution based on other characters that we also don't know.
And sure, lets say it's just that, regardless that this in and of itself weakens the whole film, and assess the other half. Here we have the next step - Green Lantern
Well, we've arrived to another set of issues. First of all, Wade doesn't earn any losses. We're told he's different after saving Vanessa, but we don't see it. And it's even more irritating bc he's picked into the plot of his universe's destruction for reasons that aren't coherently explained for the purposes of either a plot hole or a sequel, which fuck that, that leaves us with an unfinished movie. But anyway, then there's the question about what this duo does for Deadpool? Well... Wolverine is the hero, the one that's making sense for Deadpool's world, and thus an important catalyst for this Wade that's trying to make sense of his place in the world. But alas, that's not the hero we get, and thus, Deadpool doesn't actually regard him as one from the start. Which in turn breaks down his own journey to become one!! He gets the secret to be a hero in a flashback, by fucking Happy of all people. And when he goes to do what others need from him, it doesn't even make sense, because he's not sacrificing anything by the end of it. It's also annoying that he doesn't like Wolverine, which upsets me because that ruins a dynamic I'd been sold in the marketing. All the funny teases that go towards Wolverine are either ironic, and there to laugh at Wolverine instead of inappropriately tease, or straight up mean. Which, yk, doesn't help when the other side of the friendship is also not liking Deadpool on top of being a brooding mess.
So great, we have a Deadpool that doesn't actually learn anything real by the end of it, because the "teaching" is lost in all of the other noise, plus a Wolverine with unearned successes and being a mood swinger.
Yay!!! Movies!!!
Though criticisms and jokes aside, what is most surprising is that the movie is still not bad.
I think I'm mostly disappointed because I expected it to be great, but the movie is genuinely written poorly for what it was selling itself to be. The performances are outstanding, and the music and staging are not far behind. The movie is funny, even when it's not as funny as the other two, and it's a fun time. And if it helps, it took me four days to be able to recognize the issues I find with this movie, and it wasn't as jarring as it is when I see things like Thor

It's become clear I overthought this statement, and will now be ending this on the note that Hugh Jackman's arms were fucking hot af, and if anything else, the shirtless scene was good enough that the movies is entirely justified.
There is only ONE solid scene in Deadpool 3. It feels like actual writer was paid for one day where they outlined this scene and then left and no one ever hired anyone.

Animal Crossing headcanons heehee :)
Isabelle is pan and autistic with adhd (I relate to her rambles lol)
Digby is bi with a preference for men and male-aligned people
Reese and Cyrus are the token hets but they’re both trans…. transhets :)
Tom Nook and Redd are both gay (they’re exes and have some drama going on with each other, Tom Nook also has a crush on K.K., he and Isabelle squee about him together lol)
K.K. Slider is queer, he doesn’t know how to describe his sexual and romantic orientations so he identifies as queer
Jingle is a trans man :)
Common headcanon, Julia is trans and I’m thinking she’s also a lesbian
Saharah is a man who uses she/her pronouns (based on the og Japanese version)
Gracie is also a man, fine with she/her but prefers he/him (like Saharah, this is based on the fact that he’s a man in the og Japanese version)
Blanca is masc genderqueer and uses they/them
Dr. Shrunk is xenogender, being genderfunny
Pietro and Pierre are also xenogender, both being gendersilly and they also like to hang out with Dr. Shrunk :) the funny and the sillies :)
Lottie is bi, idk what her preference would be tho or if she even has one
Leif is autistic
Rover is abro
Flick and C.J. are both obviously gay, Flick has adhd and C.J. is trans masc
Wardell is autistic and is selectively mute, only talking when he’s comfortable with the people around him and I can relate (those moments where you sit on the driftwood log with him are very special to me and it warms my heart when he calls my little character “friend”)
Niko has adhd, I see him having memory problems and I can also relate (I like to think he has a special interest in building that laid dormant for a while until you brought up diys to him, then the special interest was sparked once more lol)
Blathers and Brewster are both autistic and gay
Celeste is also autistic
All sisterlys and peppys are sapphic
All smugs are achillean
All normals (or sweet villagers as I call em) are autistic and have social anxiety
Cobb is xenogender, being scivillainic (coined by @/wulfgangs) and uses be/beaker/beakers/beakerself, che/chem/chems/chemself (both neos coined by @/birdswithshoes) and vill/vills/villself as well as he/him
Coco is agender and uses she/her and it/its
Based on my headcanons from my New Leaf town, Buck and Tom are both gay and they’re in a relationship :)
Katt and Tabby are both lesbians and they’re in a relationship :)
Velma and Nan are women who grow facial hair, tho Nan regularly shaves but not out of shame, it’s just a personal preference for her (in all of her official art, she doesn’t have a beard but in her amiibo card she does, people could be like “oh well that was just a mistake” but I don’t care lol), Velma loves her beard and never shaves it off, either one or both might be intersex
Ok I think that’s all I’m gonna do for now, just know that literally every ac character in my headcanon is queer, no one is safe from my queerification beam in this funky little furry life-sim game. I’m gonna do a separate post eventually for the villagers that are in my nh game, including the ones who’ve moved :) and another separate post for all the new and returning villagers :) also if anyone decides to be a bigot in the notes I won’t engage, that’s an immediate block from me
