Kyujuro has always been a devout demon slayer. Even so if you'd ever been to his home you'd know he was an even more devout husband. During his days off he'd massage your legs and feet every tie your returned home from helping the other women tend the fields. Bathing you with water he'd warmed over your fire place and change your clothes for you. Praising each scar ans callous he found on you the same way you'd do for him whenever he came back from a mission. He firmly believes scars tell stories. Lives. Each scar is a memory to be held to your body forever. Something to be proud of. When the two of you married you used a beautiful gold endowed knife to carve a scar onto the top part of his hand and he did the same to you. It was a sweet gesture but as far as you were concerned if he was leaving the village he was leaving wearing a ring too. No way your puppy dog of a husband is going out there with the chance of other women thinking he was single.
Exaughsted you walked through the door od your home after slipping your sandals off. Covered in dirt and mud from the rice fields.
"My love! I have returned home. I am so glad to see you" Your husband rushed at you all at once and knocked you to the floor- you hadn't even noticed his shoes by the door you were so tired. His golden eyes looking into yours with a huge smile as he places small pecks all over your face. Giggling you pushed his chest "kyo~ I'm tired honey help me up." And help you he did. Loudly exclaiming how much he had missed you and how being so far hurt his very sould and you couldn't help but smile. Even as tired as you were him being there lifted your mood.
After about ten minutes he had you in a bath. Using a rag to wash the mud from you and brushing your hair. "Hm come join me" you muttered looking up at him as he was carefully rinsing your hair. "My love you're tired and if I am being honest seeing you so bare after being gone nearly a month is..already making it a bit difficult for me to control myself." Ah the pretty boy. He'd always been a gentlemen before a lover. "Please love?" You said holding his hand to your face and he quickly began stripping down. How could he say no to those eyes?
You moved forward to allow him to get behind you before pulling your back into his chest. Just wrapping his arms around you wanting to hold you close. "I feel as If I miss you more each mission I am made to leave." You smiled softly and leaned your head back onto his chest so you could look at him. Then changing your mind and fully turning your body to look at him, taking his hands in your own and placing them onto your waist. "It's a symptom of your love for me and mine for you. I mean how would it look if you didn't miss your wife? Hm?" He laughed that booming laugh before kissing you passionately.
Pulling your warm smooth body to his and running his fingers up and down your back. You placed your hands onto his chest and groped at his pecs. He moaned as you gently licked his nipple and pinched the other. His hands gripped your hips and pulled you in so that your bare cunt was pressed against his hard cock and you gasped against his puffy chest. "My love please I- I need you" He nearly whimpered his booming voice now a cracking pitiful mess after so little contact. "Aw you need me baby?" You whispered dragging a hand up to gently wrap around his neck as you lifted yourself up a bit to let him properly prod your pussy. His entire body tensed and he stared down at you gasping as you finally let him into you. Both of you moaning at the familiar squeeze.
Gently moving your hips in a slow grind you moaned into his neck and wrapped your arms around it. He moaned rather loudly at the sensation of your soft body against his, your hair stuck to certain spaces amongst his chest and wager and sweat covered you both. He leaned down and kissed you passionately lips eating yours, teeth clacking, and tongues twisting as your pace quickened and you started lifting yoir self two, three, four inches at a time. The water sloshing and moving while he groaned and begged you for more. His own hands finally lifting and hips pistoning up into yours.
Your body's aches were ignored at the feeling of tightening in your stomach, your hand reached down and rubbed your clit in time with his thrusts and all at once you came with a damn near scream. Kyo bit down into your neck and held your hips firmly pressed into his as he filled your womb a moment or two after. Kissing and licking at you while he seemed to cum for forever.
"Mm good boy" you whispered hand weaving into his hair and gently kissing the curve of his ear.

i got a ton of asks in my inbox so im just going to put all of them here so i don't spam u guys with it haha
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is really the only guy i use. felt pen on clip studio is excellent for the sketchier style i like! when it comes to coloring i just use a basic solid brush !
Tumblr media
i imagine they do, and they each get assigned a baby (tanjiro with giyuu, inosuke with sanemi, and zenitsu with obanai) but it lasts for barely a day. inosuke has no idea what hes doing and obanai cant stand zenitsu
Tumblr media
tengens wives find the situation hysterical but they help out however they can. ofc they all fight over tengen. they love helping out with the kiddies but they especially enjoy taking care of the younger ones-- they think mui, mitsuri, and shinobu are adorable! tengen definitely tries to flirt with them but hes a cringe fail ten year old
kanao, aoi, and the butterfly girls all help out as well. kanao and shinobu are typically glued together
shinjuro and senjuro are shocked to see rengoku (and obanai) and while shinjuro is pissed off at first, he can't Not take in his boys. senjuro and little obanai are super similar in nature so
urokodaki, tengen, and nezuko are worried but excited about giyuu's transformation. they're like lets freaking go. good childhood moment
and of course genya thinks the situation is hilarious and hes happy to get to spend time with his brother, although he's VERRRRY awkward. he's a bit avoidant at times but usually gyomei and tanjiro can talk him
Tumblr media
aw thank you! to answer your question;; shinobu and gyomei basically spend time with him and are attentive to his wants/needs to help him recognize he does matter. rengoku and the others help with this! essentially love language stuff and affirmations and what not
Tumblr media
ill be honest i totally forgot about this. yea! i would say the babies are only put in a very specific area of the manor and they deep clean it constantly. if they have a good amount of sick/wounded i imagine they have gyomei or etc take them in. im not sure! in my mind the hashira all rotate and babysit and etc
Tumblr media
this 100% happens. urokodaki learned the news and had never traveled to the headquarters so fast
Tumblr media
ohh this is a fun question! truthfully im not sure what the answer to this would be... i appreciate all the questions/ideas/etc!! if anything id love to have more questions about general characterization stuff, since thats my favorite favorite favorite to talk about!!! maybe more questions about like... what their relationships are like, do they have nicknames for each other, that sort of thing... idk! either way im glad people are interested :D
Tumblr media
sanemi tries to make them laugh. he remembers his little siblings always cheering up when he would make silly faces and sounds, so he does that here
giyuu awkwardly pats the other baby's back/head and is like "there there" ... he remembers how sabito's hugs would make him feel better so he awkwardly hugs the other. most of the time obanai/sanemi stop crying purely bc they're confused as to why giyuu is hugging them
obanai would usually talk them out of it, but he can't do too much since he's restricted to baby babble. so instead, he will try to find one of their toys and "gift" it to them. ex giyuu was sobbing hysterically until obanai found his fox plushie and gave it to him
Tumblr media
awww shucks... stop it u guys.....!
Tumblr media
im doing ok!!! hanging in! got 3/13 commissions done so busy busy!
also, for future ref, i prefer being called "bite" !!! i know a lot of people call me ghost, so i just wanted to take a moment to correct that :D
Tumblr media
awwwwww this is so sweet!! thank you so much!!!!!!
Tumblr media
defintely one of the rodent pokemon. my favorite pokemon changes constantly but im told i have mimikyu / teddiursa / bunneary vibes. i also like espurr. i have no idea UWEIHRWE
Tumblr media
i think he would be a little awkward at first but he would get the hang of it. most of what he does is just keep them entertained and make sure they arent sick or hurt. though he eventually builds up the courage to ask if he can feed obanai. from that point on whenever muichiro is babysitting he's the one offering to feed him, though someone else has to make the bottle-- he doesn't know how to do that
Tumblr media
this is canon
Tumblr media
Hands down, Obanai. Though I also feel really sad for Gyomei and Muichiro, and I think Tengen's story (what we know of it) is pretty sad. I don't like comparing traumas, though! but yeah. obanai is. wow. poor guy
and to those of you sending art requests; i see them, i promise! commissions come first, so they may take time for me to get done!
thank you guys for all the questions! i always love checking my inbox and getting an excuse to talk about things...

you are running late to your second class that day because you got distracted with your friends from other courses. a few books you borrowed from the library are being held by your hands about to fall thanks to your turbulent running.
would it really be that cliche and dumb to crash into someone midway? yes, and you are right, you just crashed into someone unexpectedly, all your books are now spread across the hallway and you're on the floor. you make your best to quickly sit down to apologize to the person you just basically slammed into, who seems to be a boy around your age you are sure you never seen before. what is up with his hair?
“oh my god, i am so sorry! are you okay?!” your voice filled with concern when you se the stranger on the floor rubbing his head in ache, who turns his gaze to you at your question.
“yes, i am fine! you shall not worry! are you alright?” his voice is loud and cheerful, luckily he isn't showing any signs of injury or such so you sigh relieved.
“yes! yes, i'm fine, god this is so embarassing and cliche” you sigh again now collecting your books, seeing how the boy was doing the same with his stuff. he finishes quickly so he is able to lend you a hand and he hands you a few of your notes.
“there you go” he says with a bright smile, now that you had a chance to look at him upclose, you find yourself staring at a charming face that sends you vibes of a person with a bright personality, kinda blessing if you are honest, his red eyes as shiny as his curious looking yellow and red hair, you zone out for a few seconds staring at the stranger before you snap back when he speaks to you.
“thank you, and i'm so sorry again!” you bend down in order to apologize to him.
“do not worry, i am not in pain! you seemed in a rush so it is totally alright, you can head to your class”
"yes, i'm already running late, so bye! thank you!" you say in a charismatic tone, you finally got up and start running again, leaving the kind stranger behind.
you got to class very late. you tried to catch up with your classmates but they were very ahead of you, you try to cheer yourself up by thinking the class was going to be short anyways and that coffee break was just around the corner. once the class is over, you start to head to a cafe near the campus, but before you can leave the building, you see the same kind stranger leaving his classroom. you lock gazes with eachother and he smiles at you when he sees you walking in his direction.
"ah, it's you!" he begins, an innocent enthusiasm captured his loud voice "did you make it to class?" he asks with an amused tone, yet sounding nice, no harm in his words. you chuckle out a sigh and smile in disbelief, your head lowers a bit.
"yes but i arrived quite late, all my classmates were already ahead of me" you sound dissapointed, wanting to forget about the misfortunate act.
"i see, that's a shame to hear" his smile fades just for a few seconds, pitting you a bit "where are you heading now?" he asks out of pure curiousity.
"oh, i'm going to the cafe nearby to have a coffee before going to my next class, i hope i'm not late this time" at your words the stranger chuckles out a loud laugh.
"i'm sure you won't, i was about to go to the cafe aswell. would you like to grab some coffee with me?" he asks looking at you, his smile flashing on his face again, it is almost as if his smile had a radiance of its own.
you can't deny his invitation, you liked this stranger, he seemed like a nice guy, everything about his vibes feel comforting and pleasant. why not?
"sure, let's go!"
in the way to the cafe, you exchange a few personal data, you get to know his name is kyojuro rengoku, he is a third year of his career like you and he is in an opposite class of yours. your schedules rarely alinged so it was almost impossible for you to see him around, however he was there today because he was taking extra classes for his upcoming exam next week, he also said he finds morning shift much more comfortable than the afternoon one so he is considering changing shifts. he is an interesting and nice guy, very cheerful and respectful in his manners, once at the cafe he asks you a few questions about yourself too, so you start to talk on and on about yourselves, exchanging thoughts and interests, slowly developing a friendly bond. he is very humoristic too, making little jokes and comments in order to make you laugh, some people around side eye at you both a small judgamental face at how loud you were laughing but it doesn't seem to bother any of you.
never was a coffee break this entretaining.
after 15 minutes you start heading back to classes alongside kyojuro, with a bright smile on your face, this dude is amazing! he made you completely forget about the mishap you went though earlier, his company is bright and lighthearted, you want to get to know him better if you are honest.
six months pass by and you and kyojuro developed a lovely friendship, you got to know him better as you proposed yourself too and he ended up being twice as interesting than you imagined, he was rising his younger brother on his own, his father was abscent but still made sure to pay for everything their sons needed, you feel pitty for him for having such a dick dad but he tells you to not pay him any attention, kyojuro is more than fine with the way he lives. he is overly optimistic but realistic at the same time, he knows his father is not the best dad but he still chooses to smile and hold his head high doing the best he can for his brother, this attitude of his makes your days lighter and this often makes you feel encouraged you to work hard or try new things you normally would've need a lot of courage to do. now that kyojuro changed shifts, you two use to go to the campus yard and sit on the grass to study or just talk, often letting your conversations continue until sunset, the lovely seasonal sunlight always witnessing your friendship's growth. other times you meet at any of your homes to study for upcoming exams, he is a great studying partner! you share some snacks and drinks during those study sessions and laugh a lot. this turned into a habit overtime.
you met a few people along the way, kyojuro introduced you to his friend group and now you spend plenty of time with them, everyone is so nice and fun to be around, this guy tengen is one extroverted and entretaining person, however the group (including yourself) tease him about him claiming to be the most flamoyant looking but then having a disastrous sense of fashion, he dresses well, yes, but his accessory choices are an absolute mess. you tease him often saying a headband full of glitter and plastic gems is an horrendous choice even if he says otherwise. then this girl shinobu, she is one of the quietest of the group but whenever she speaks you always engage in an interesting and thoughtful conversation, she is very smart and you get to exchange interesting and weird facts, conversations with her tend to be very fruitful (and she always has some gossip or embarassing stories of the other group members, she is truly so entretaining to be around too). there is this other guy, giyuu, who is the quiet introverted after shinobu, who sticks around his extroverted friends and always signs up to the chaotic ideas the three loudest members come up with, he is a man of few words but his group understand him perfectly without needing to speak to him. you try to talk to him, but it's just that it's difficult to draw his attention and have long chats with him if your interests don't align, however you made your way to his heart when you told him your favourite bands and they ended up being the same bands giyuu was into you so you always find time to talk about your favourite songs and their meanings, after that you got to know him a little better, turning out to be an interesting guy.and then finally is this girl, kanroji, who is kyojuro's childhood best friend, they met in kindergartden and since then they're inseparable, she knows kyojuro from head to toes; she is a very lovely girl, always full of compliments for everyone and is nice, even to strangers. she is sweet around you too and since you're kyojuro's friend, she whispers embarassing facts about younger rengoku for you to laugh and his only reaction is to laugh awkwardly at the weird kid he was in highschool, blushing out of embarassment, which only made you feel closer to him, everytime you got to know something new about him, you found yourself feeling more captivated by his sparkling personality, he is indeed a wonderful person.
you grew close to this group and spent a lot of time together after class, some weekends you went out for beer and spent so many amazing nights together, but there was some things you weren't quite aware of until the first five months you spent together, such as how kanroji and uzui teased kyojuro more than they usually did, specially when you were around. it was overall suspicious to you because it looked like the flamboyant boy and the lovely girl were up to something but you had no clues of what it could be. kyojuro's face would turn red at their statements and start telling them to cut it off. you asked shinobu what was up with those three and she would just laugh softly and answer "those are just uzui and mitsuri's antics, don't pay them any attention" but she knew quite well something was going on around rengoku for them to act the way they did and she did not want to tell you.
you didn't pay much attention to it at the moment because finals are now around the corner and you have to strive on passing, so your studying sessions with kyojuro took place at least three times a week, both you two were a bit stressed, there was a lot of content you had to study for both of your careers so you barely had time to spend doing anything else than studying. you are now at your place, you agreed with kyojuro to go to your house to study after class, it is around 6 PM now and you two are sitting at the living room table, notes and folders spread all over it and the floor. silence is all over the room, both of you two focused on your books, which is common in your studying sessions, you work better working in silence yet together in a way.
after like three hours, you sigh out of tiredness and throw yourself back, laying flat on the ground, a grunt of disbelief leaves your mouth as you frown completely exhausted. kyojuro just looks at you, raising his eyebrows at your motion.
"too much?" he asks in a calm tone, despite him being just as tired as you, he even shows small signs of having baggy eyes.
"yeah, i hate this career" you say, jokingly but yes, you are tired, he lets out a giggle.
"how about a break?" he suggests, putting his pen down and closing his notebook for a minute.
"that sounds great" you agree sitting back down, now looking at your phone cheking the time "oh my god, it's already 9 PM. don't you have to be home to senjuro?" you ask in concern, his little brother was left alone.
"oh, no don't worry, he is at a friend's house, he is staying over until tomorrow. however i should be heading back not too late because the street may turn dangerous if i walk too late" he says standing up, you copy his action.
"i don't have a problem with you staying over, though. if it gets too late you can sleep here" you offer.
"really?" he seems surprised, a sparkle of excitement shining in his eyes.
"yeah! we can prepare a nice meal and continue to study until we go to sleep" your smile widens as you speak, the idea of having an improvised pijama party with kyojuro.
"yes, i would love that!" his eyes seem to sparkle with joy at the proposal, you both start walking to the kitchen and open the fridge to check what you had.
"well, i went to the market the other day so i have plenty of things to prepare. how does udon sound for you?" you ask with a gentle smile.
"sounds great! let's do it"
and just like that, you two start preparing dinner. you put some music to make the cooking much more entretaining, you nor kyojuro can help but sing outloud, even dance, to your favourite songs, using kitchen utensils as microphones. the preparing overall is easy but what really made it entretaining and different from any other meal you ever prepared, is that you are doing it with good company, people say food tastes better when sharing it with someone and kyojuro is the living proof of the saying.
you cut the vegetables as he waits for the water to start boiling to finally cook the noodles, however, he walks behind you and rests his chin on your shoulder, checking on what you are doing, this isn't weird at all sometimes he would just do that affectionately.
"hi" you say in a sweet tone and a cute smile.
"hi" he answers with a wide smile on his face too, looking adorable as ever.
you go silent only for a few seconds until your body almost jumps for feeling kyojuro's hand making its way to the hand you are holding the knife with and lay it on the kitchen table as the other lands subtly on your waist, its a subtle motion but it is enough to make your face turn slightly red, wandering what he is thinking about now... not until he just starts tickling you making you to burst out laughing loudly, his fingers tickle all around your waist and armpits and laughs the moment you start fighting to stop him.
"k-kyojuro, s-stop! i'm al-almost peeing!" you protest between laughs, struggling to get some air in your lungs and trying to tickle him back, the attempt is useless because he's got you wrapped around his finger and all you can do is try to kneel down, as an attempt to escape from his grip, he follows as he continues laughing and sits on the ground wrapping your waist with his arm as the other continues to tickle you.
the laughter gets louder suddenly and in your last efforts to free yourself before giving up, you forcefully turn around to face him, a bit too clumsily, because this makes kyojuro fall back on his back, with you on top of him.
the blonde notices quickly the position you both ended up in and suddenly stops the tickling, giving you the chance to recover some air, you realize only a few seconds later the awkward situation you are left in the moment you look at kyojuro's face, his eyes are wide open, an awkward smile formed on his lips and a deep red blush covering the width and long of his face. your face turns inmediately red as you stare down at him, his hands resting again on your waist subtly, unsure of what he should do now. is this weird? is he being weird? no, why would he? it was just an accident, so why is he so nervous? what he should do? your wide open eyes are locked to his and now he is unsure if he should look away or not. the awkward silence goes on for a long time, you gulp and your heart is pounding, how did this happen all suddenly?
kyojuro meditates for a long while, is this a wrong time to make a move? he has been having mixed feelings about you, you two are amazing friends but he can't help but feel totally love-struck around you, you're so wonderful and smart... what if you don't like him back? what if he ruins the beautiful friendship you two have? he can't risk it... he doesn't want to push you away from his life.
but your body so close to his, your face looking his way, you can almost feel his heart jumping out of his chest... he just can't.
he bets everything to this very moment. his lips make a very small movement, as if he is trying to twist them into a kissing manner, noticeable to your eyes. your world falls apart when you see his head shyly trying to lean closer to you and your reaction is to blush even harder, everything is moving too fast, moments ago you were cooking and laughing and now you're suddenly on top of kyojuro on the floor, him trying to kiss you know, does that mean he likes you? or is it physical attraction only? how would this impact in your friendship? are you overthinking? you probably are. there are so many questions and so little time to answer each, he is already so close to your lips, his eyes are almost shut down entirely so you take a small breathe, choosing to relax and give in to the moment. your eyes close slowly, your head also leans in carefully and the distance between you two breaks, giving your friend a soft smooch on his lips.
it's sweet and gentle, shy one might say. not too long nor short, it's just enough for you two to implode out of happyness, kyojuro pulls away first out of nerves, he wants to see your face, he wants to know what are your thoughts in this very moment, he seems more nervous than you are. you two remain silent for a few instants before he speaks again.
"w-was that okay?" his face fails to go back to normal, it's still as red as before. you snort out a small giggle.
"it was sweet, i liked it" you smile warmly at him.
"gosh i'm so glad" he sighs in relief, throwing his head back for a second, trying to recover his composture, he was so scared he might mess up what you two had "i was mortified at the thought of... you know, scaring you away or seen as a weirdo by you"
you raise your brows and decide to finally move, you sit on the ground and grab kyojuro's hands to help him sit back down again, now getting the chance to talk normally.
"i don't think you would ever scare me away. perhaps, it was just a kiss" you pause only for a second "and i like you, how would a kiss be a reason to push me away"
"i... guess you are right" he laughs at his own thought, the nerves got the best of him, you are an amazing person, a kiss can't ruin everything "still, there is something i need to tell you..."
your face turns slightly pink at his words, your imagination wandering like crazy, is he really...? "yeah? what is it?" you try to stay calm, a small smile on your face, ready for his upcoming words. kyojuro seems a bit nervous again, he takes a deep breathe before talking again, his cheeks turning red once again.
"tengen will lose a bet to kanroji if i confess to you now, and i want him to lose." his statement is amusing, it makes you laugh, what is going to happen next is so obvious, his smile turns into a wide, warm and sincere one "there are feelings i want to confess to you right now, please listen to me"

Chapter ten
It's been two weeks since the Akaza battle. (Y/n) recovered quickly and now could stand and function on her own. She got a letter from the master, saying the period of no mission starts from today, and she couldn't help but frown at the letter. It's already been two weeks where she didn't do anything but rest!
'Ugh, so frustrating! How am I supposed to pass time?' She thought as she crossed her arms angrily. she sat on, you guessed right, her bed. 'Even Rengoku-san has only a few days left before he's leaving the mansion! Without him, it will be terribly boring!!'
She let out a long sigh. 'Well, the nurses say that in a day or two, I could at least do some training while I wait.' She tried to cheer herself up. A sudden idea popped into her mind, 'maybe looking for something to read will be a good way to pass the time.' She quickly got up and searched for someone to ask if there's a library in this huge mansion. As she wandered around the halls, she heard some noises from outside and looked out of the window.
"1678, 1679..!" Rengoku stood out there, swinging a wooden sword at a tree. The sun hit his bare upper body as his muscles moved under his skin. He then stopped for a second, placing his hands on his knees while breathing heavily.
(Y/n)'s eyes winded as her heartbeats began to race up. Suddenly, Rengoku looked behind him and saw her behind the window. He grinned and waved, then returned to his training. Her cheeks hit up as she ran away from the window, tapping her face aggressively with her palms. 'What's wrong with me? What's wrong with me? What's wrong with me???' She whimperd in embarrassment.
Without noticing, she accidentally bumped into someone. "H-hey, watch it!!" (Y/n) turned to apologize and saw Aoi picking up white sheets that probably fell from her grip on the floor, carefully folding them. "I'm so sorry, Let me help you..!" She bent down, but as soon as Aoi saw her face she asked: "Are you okay? Do you have a fever?" She then placed her hand on (Y/n)'s forehead and hummed. "Hmm.. seems fine to me.." she murmured and went back to folding. "What do you mean?" (Y/n) questioned, and Aoi turned to her once again, but this time with a little playful smirk on her face. "Well, your face is all red." She chuckled as (Y/n) quickly lowered her head, "Is that so.." she laughed nervously.
...
"What are you reading?" Rengoku asked (Y/n) as she sat under the nightsky. The full moon shined above them, giving them a gentle but comforting light. (Y/n) lifted up her chin, seeing the flame hashira standing behind her as he tried to read the book pages under the darkness. "Oh, just something I found. I thought I might read while I wait until I can go back to work." She returned her gaze to the novel but found it a little difficult focusing on the words now.
He hummed in response and sat beside her, smiling like usual. As she turned her head, she found him staring at her, but he didn't stop when she caught him. The confused girl returned to the book, then to him, then to the book, then to him. His gaze didn't stop, and only became more intense. "Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked nervously. "Like what?" He responded, still not stopping.
She pointed at his face, "Like that.." The wind started blowing and almost flipped (Y/n)'s book, so she tightened her grip while lowering her hand. "I'm bored, but I don't want to disturb you, so I'm just going to sit here!" He explained.
(Y/n) chuckled and closed the book, "Then why didn't you say anything, Rengoku-san? Here, let me help you with your boredom."
Rengoku beamed at her and said, "Call me kyojuro!" She sighed. Every time she said his name for the past couple of days, he always said that. To be honest, she really wanted to call him by his first name, but always felt uncomfortable.
"I'm trying.. but I got used to Rengoku. " she scratched the back of her head while looking away. "Then just do it little by little!" He gave an encouraging smile.
She sighed nervously as she nodded, "kyo.." she started to say, but the look of anticipation on his face made her flustered, and she barried her face in her hands. "I don't know why I'm struggling so much.." she whimperd into her palms.
He then gently grabbed her hands and moved them away from her face, "You can do this, I believe in you!!" He gave her a thumbs up. She nodded again as she smiled, now more determined. "Kyo..juro.." she whispered as she got lost into his gaze. It felt good, she beamed. "Kyojuro!!" She yelled full of joy as she laughed.
When she looked back to Rengoku, now kyojuro, his eyes radiated such a tender, recognizable vibe. That look.. it was the same one when they first met, she realized. It made her lose her breath. "I've never loved my name more than I do now!" He suddenly yelled into the night air as he placed his hands on the waist.
They both laughed as they called each other's name. "Well, you got what you've wanted the most now!" Her hair caressed her features as the wind celebrated their joy with them. Kyojuro shook his head softly, "Unfortunately, not yet!" He clenched his fist in front of her, "but worry not, I'll cross heaven and hell for it until it will be mind." He declared as his gaze was fixed on hers.
She stared at him for a few seconds and then clapped her hands softly, "Then I wish you much luck!" She opened her book again and got lost in another world.
A/n: I struggled SO MUCH with writing this chapter, and honestly, I don't like it at all because it doesn't make sense to me, but I tried my best so :,))).

YANDERE! MITSURI X FEM! READER
(*^3^)/~☆ idk about you, but I love a strong, beautiful, softspoken, wholesome, queen that also has an appetite.
Warning: this contains, stalking, mitsuri being a little pervy, and noncon touching.
TW: stalking, noncon touching
This story is recommended for disrespectful teens like me..so yeah keep that in mind, my adult readers are welcome too
Rated: T+
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"M-Mitsuri, please stop." You begged the pink haired girl. You have no idea what happend one minute you were haveing a nice chat with Shinobu in the hotspring when all of a sudden mitsuri pounced on you from behind, and now she is groping you breats.
"Whats wrong with it, im just helping you, relive some stress". You look twards Shinobu for help, she only giggled and had this to say, "My, what good friends you are, im quite envious." Then the incect pillar got out.
"Finally we are all alone." She said as she got infont of me and pushed me down against the stones aligning the sides of the bath. Mitsuri is still rubbing my body, her hand keeps going down.
Oh god, i can't...I'm scared, ...shes gonna hurt me... oh no..."You know Y/n, i like cherries, especially yours-" she was interrupted by her crow, telling her that she has a mission to attend to. She stands up in disappointment and says, " ill be back as soon as I can Y/n, then I can show you something else pink, besides my hair, love you". She gave me a kiss on the cheek and left.
Saved by the crow, that could have ended badly. I finished my soak and left for home. For some sleep.
That's all i need right now. Sleep.
When i arrived to my home, i noticed a lot of letters from mitsuri in my house near the window. I shut it for my sanity. I decided to read the letters and all i see is 'i love you' and flirting pickup lines as if she is a man trying to court me.
I shake off the eairyness of th letters but one stays in my head as i lay my head on my pillow.
'Oh, Y/n, I can't wait to taste your special fruit, I see it many time but I wann feel it, taste it , play with it, I can't hold my felings for you inside me any longer,I I have to let you know how much I love you. When i get back im going to make you a special cake, that has all my affection made into it.
With love, Mitsuri'
The most desturbing thing was that the bottom of the paper had some dryed liquid on it. I had no idea what it was but, i dont wanna know what it was.
_______________________________________________
I hade just came back from training with rengoku, it was brutal but necessary. For some reson, he kept bringing uo marriage and family. He was way to distracted, but I can't blame him today is lovely. To be honest, i have the biggest crush on Rengoku, I wanna be known in the future as 'Y/n Rengoku, wife of the fire hashira'. Tengen said it was a flashy way of thinking.
Just as I was heading out of the dinning hall, someone called my name from a far. I noticed it was mitsuri, she grabed onto my arm and we talked while walking. But she brought me to her estate.
I felt something hit me in the back of the head, oh no im fading.
.
..
...
....wake up
Open your eyes....
Don't let her have her way....
She's winning.....
......
I open my eyes and take in my surroundings, it's nighttime, and i cant move my upper body, i can feel the breeze on my bare skin. I can't move...
"Finally I can taste your fruit, it looks so yummy." Oh hell no, I know that voice, it was mitsuri, i can see under the light of the moon shineing through the window that she was nude.
One thing i noticed was that she tied my arms down behind my back...not me legs.
I had no time to react as she layed her naked frame on ame and started giving me butterfly kisses.
"You don't know howblong I've waited for this, i have watched you conversate with the other hashira about love amd settling down, you look so pretty when you sleep, now i can see it forever."
I started to cry but she covered my mouth.
"Shh, don't cry please" she wisperd as she moved down to where my leg are, she pushed them open and said.
"Wow, Y/n, it's such a cutey, you truly are, Something lovley"
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

6, 8, 13, 14, 21 and 27 for the writing wrapped!
Sure! Thanks for asking!
6. Favourite line of dialogue this year?
hmmm... I really love this line from The Sacrifice (my unpublished Demon Slayer fic).
“Are you kidding? Look at yourself. You’ve been asleep for weeks! You lost an eye! You got lucky that I showed up and got involved! If I hadn’t caused enough of a distraction, you would have died!”  "Then I should have died! As I was meant to!"  The sound she lets out is somewhere between a scoff and a huff of laughter. "Wow. You have no idea, do you? Do you know how many people have thanked me for being there, for helping, all because it ensured that you lived? People I've never met before have thanked me. Your brother begged me to watch over you as you recover and you think you should have died? Out of everything I've heard about you, Rengoku-san, no one has said that you're selfish. I guess they are wrong.”
8. Did you find yourself repeating a word or phrase in your writing this year? If so, what was it?
I repeat myself a lot, to be honest. @vixenofcourse could probably tell you better because I don't remember.
13. Who was your favourite character to write for?
ALL OF THEM! I can't pick just one.
14. Did you have a song on repeat while writing this year?
I have playlists for all my fics that I usually listen to on repeat when I'm writing that fic. Otherwise, sometimes it's specific songs. It all depends on what I'm writing and the mood, so it's nothing on repeat all year.
21. Were there any ideas you wanted to work on this year but you didn’t?
No, because I don’t limit myself and my muse wanders off regularly, (as we all know). If I want to write something, I just write it. I will leave it and come back to it later, which is why I have so many WIPs.
27. What was your favourite fic to read this year?
Hmm... I have so many. Here are some that I've reread multiple times this year.
no one is what they were before by ohmytheon The world broke when Gojo Satoru turned on jujutsu society. It's not the hopeful place it was before, but Utahime has never been one to give up. Until she's placed in a dangerous position directly in his path, and she finds herself trapped in a web that doesn't seem intent on ever letting her go.
Echoes by YanderexBabydoll There’s a sadness that hangs thick and heavy in the air around you. Grief and pain etched into the very foundations of this house. But you’re broken, too – hollowed out with emotions still too raw to touch. Maybe that's why you were drawn to it.
(Tokyo Revengers. Sano Siblings x Reader. involves ghosts)
surrender (whenever you're ready) by OfMermaids (@ofmermaidstories) You first meet Ground Zero when he’s thrown, unceremoniously, through the glass window of your florist shop. (Bakugou Katsuki x Reader, Pro-Hero AU; in which Bakugou cannot stand flowers but finds himself coming back, anyway)
Plunders of war by MaryaMorevna "You for Shouto's life." Ivory-haired villain continued, his tone saturated with wicked delight. "I'll let him live, promise-" he made the obscene gesture of crossing his heart and laughed again. "What do you mean me?" my voice was barely above a whisper, afraid of its own sound. "You..." he stood up straight, as tall as Shouto. "Willing," -first step, "Pliant," -another step, "Wanton-" Dabi closed the distance, his rough hand lifting my chin up. "-In my bed." ... Villains win the war AU. Very dark so be warned.
The Pack Survives by ihopethelightwillshineupon When a simple C-rank mission turns into a straight-up nightmare, the members of Team Seven narrowly escape with their lives. They end up stuck in the middle of nowhere, each of them injured and forced to rely on one another for help. They’ve only been a team for a couple of weeks, still distant from one another, still trying hard to prove themselves. But when they’re all hurt and struggling desperately to survive, they have no choice but to lower their walls. Stranded far away from the village, Team Seven fights to get back home safely – but with help impossibly far away, with their food supplies shrinking and with their injuries slowing them down, their journey becomes more difficult with every step. In the wake of their struggle, though, their bonds grow steadily stronger.
fingerprints by andypantsx3 (@andypantsx3) When you’re outed as pro hero Shouto’s soulmate on national television, there are really only two sensible things for you to do: blame someone else and run. (Deceiving the Duke and in cinders by andypantsx3 are also on the list of ones I've reread. They're so much fun, omg. But I'm trying not to expand this list too much lol) you can tell where my mind has been this year...
and, of course, any fics that are tagged under my "fic recs" tag.
Thanks again!

every time I see rntn pilot au, I keep thinking about the pilot fics I read on wp and ao3. It's so bougie lolol
with their bougie mile-high club in their bougie secret cabin while everyone else did it in the bathroom. I can just imagine an attendant calling out for Tanjirou and when they climbed up, all they see is Kyoujurou's wide nude back and long hair (in this universe, the airline lets their pilots have long hair as long as it didn't obstruct safety). Not to mention the fact that they barely had time to explore another city so they just make out or fuck in their suite all day, bought each other matching overpriced souvenirs, and skedaddle for their next flight.
Kyoujurou was his senior and at first, he didn't look at Tanjirou much. You can't really stand out in a team when you did almost the same thing and everyone was competitive. Kyoujurou came from a pilot family and apparently so were a lot of the pilots there or at least they already have good leverage since cadets. It's a prestigious workplace but can be pretty shallow. Tanjirou was a bit of an oddball. He didn't come from an upper-middle-class family and not to mention he's pretty average looking. The height requirement is average but most of them are taller than him so he seemed short. It took a while for him to ease into the new lifestyle.
But Kyoujurou honestly doesn't care. It's a performance to him and that's it. Once they talk to each other, Tanjirou realized it was easier than he expected. He thought his pathetic crush would just end in him pining until retirement. Also, Tanjirou's "hard work and be honest" principle paid off most of the time and everyone likes him. He's also quick to adapt and is assertive, those are his strongest points, and why he became a pilot.
I can't imagine Tan working away from his family but I can see him working hard in any field even if it's not a particular interest. I feel he's the type that brings home everywhere so even though maybe they're co-piloting abroad, Tan still brings homemade stored-up food like pickled veggies or dried fish. Kyoujurou finds it charming and helpful. Well, at first he's just being pragmatic, he doesn't know how to cook but he likes eating yet they always have a tight schedule. He wishes he can explore the cities he visited more, learn about their history, and go culinary cruising. Even though he can do that during the day off, it's still hard sometimes.
There isn't a rule against dating or marrying your coworker in the flight industry and it's not uncommon to date or marries your crew since you ended up getting stuck with the same mofos for a while even when they roll your schedules. Whenever they're not piloting together they will have lots of VC or missed VC since both are pretty busy? Like they'll start with "let's videocall again later," and that later is in about two weeks.
"I'm so sorry, Rengoku-san, I was at Vilnius and the flights were all booked so I couldn't--"
and when Kyoujurou started the VC he uses the back camera to show a raccoon dog, "Tanjirou, is that you??" the fact that he found it, of all things, in Wolmi Park near Incheon, during layover is hilarious.
Tanjirou is like, that's so cute but I just wanna see your face 🥲 before it disconnected since Kyoujurou has to go back.
A few minutes later, Kyoujurou did VC him again. He just has a tendency to disconnect at random times.
Kyoujurou is the least bothered by this whole deal. Tanjirou keeps texting Nezuko that he's a bad partner for neglecting Kyoujurou and Nezuko just rolls her eyes because he's 12 KM up in the air for her to nudge his head. So she just sent a screenshot of their texts and made Kyoujurou laugh at him. Kyoujurou is just grateful with every moment they have.
Though, surprisingly I can see him insisting to pilot together with Tanjirou as often as they can to their boss. Maybe marriage to even seal the deal? 🤔 I can imagine the higher-up going, "why are you so headstrung on this, relationships won't last long. We don't explicitly say you shouldn't date your coworker but what would happen if there's a conflict of interest nanana"
and maybe they do get along but to get to the level of friends to lovers, at least for Kyoujurou it takes a while. Kyoujurou would probably think the same at first, how it's unprofessional or something something, he's a kohai something something... lack of sleep and lots of longing equals... friends with benefits. Ooh spicy...
I wanted to add cheesy scenes where they abuse their captain privilege to flirt (before getting together) but "If there is a hole, I want to go in it" Kyoujurou will probably be too embarrassed to do so and Tanjirou will just cringe at the prospect. But what if their annoying co-pilot, third wheeling, have had enough of them and was like,
"Good afternoon passengers, this is Captain Uzui Tengen speaking. On behalf of all the crews, I would like to tell my First Officer Rengoku Kyoujurou and Second Officer Kamado Tanjirou to get their acts together and talk already because we can feel the unresolved romantic tension from an altitude of 30,000 feet at an airspeed of 200 miles per hour."
or
"Good day folks, this is your captain speaking. We welcome you to Melbourne City. The local time is now 1:25 PM. The weather is currently sunny and clear skies today, with a relaxing 25 degrees Celsius for this afternoon. If our co-pilots can stop flirting in the cabin, we might finally reach world peace. Please remain seated with your seat belt fastened..."
but I can see them gaining confidence and joke around a bit.
Kyoujurou was sitting in Business Class when a flight attendant came and give him a glass of martini and a slice of blueberry cheesecake. "It's a little present from the captain to welcome you on our flight," which is ridiculous to Kyoujurou because he is also a captain on that airline. He uses his employee discount to use the same airline. He practically knew almost every crew--
"Good evening, passengers, this is Captain Kamado speaking, we have reached our cruising altitude and I have switched the seatbelt sign off. Feel free to move as you wish. To the most beautiful passenger Rengoku Kyoujurou, I hope you enjoy the flight and the delicious cheesecake. Ah, if you ever want to be in a hole, let's go in it together. Cannot wait to see you again."
somehow it became a competition, so in the next flight, Kyoujurou made sure to do the same or worse and the whole flight crew just... suffers. Nobody wants to be their crews anymore. Just kidding. Maybe the infamous sky couple will give good juju. But it will definitely make you feel so single
Uzui regretted starting the trend.

Hello! I am really enjoying your works 😍. Could i ask you please a rengokuxfem reader childhood friends..she is constantly struggling to confess to him because kyo is a bit dense. Mitsuri and senjuro are the ones who set up the perfect chance for them. Will she be able to reach kyo?
pairing; rengoku kyojuro x fem! reader. warnings; none | she/her pronouns are used + feminine terms. author note; i'll be honest, this is quite messy and highkey off request, i don't exactly know how to describe it; but i still hope you like it :D
Tumblr media
for as long as you remember, you never found happiness, love and trust all in the same person until he came into your life. you gaze over his figure, a warm feeling flowed through you. maybe now was the perfect time to attempt to let him know how you feel once again, "kyojuro-san!" you whined, trying to get the flame hashira's attention who was currently trying to glue an ornament that sanemi broke, he let out a hum to let you know he was listening but he still didnt face you. you pouted, deciding to settle with that and continue with what you were going to say; "i like you, kyojuro-san" he stops moving his hands, turning to look at you with a smile. "i like you too, [name]-chan." your eyes widened but mind was clouded with confusion. rengoku only chuckled before going back to the ornament in his hands. you stand and leave the room, a sudden amount of questions can be heard through your mind. what way did he mean it? did he mean it in a friendly way and get you wrong once more? you sigh as you open the door to the kitchen of the demon slayer corps only to find mitsuri. she excitedly gets up and makes her way to you giving you a hug. you smile at her, confusion still tainted on your face from the situation with kyojuro. "[name]-san, you look rather bewildered? is everything alright?" the love hashira asks you. you shake your head with a sigh before you both walk down to sit on the chairs by the table. "i'm all ears." she smiles and you just nod before telling her about the events that had just happened barely ten minutes ago. mitsuri only chuckles before patting your head. "it's alright [name]-san! let's try a different method!" she suggests. your lips form a slight smile, nodding. maybe this way, you'll finally get a clear answer. maybe this way, your feelings will finally get across. over the next few weeks, you hadn't seen kyojuro much; honestly, you purposely avoided him most of the time, afraid you'd accidentally let words spill. in this time though, you had decided to ask senjuro for help with the food you wanted so give kyojuro as a little appreciation gift too. you sent letters; which consists of panicking, advice asking and senjuro ready to slap you with chopsticks back and forth between each other. with time though- you were able to perfect dish. during this time as well, mitsuri has been training you [not really.] to write love letters; uzui popped in every now and then to give out some flamboyant word he made up on the spot to convey your feelings, you didn't use them though. now, you stand before the flame hashira, bowing and offering the food and letter in your hands to him. 'please, let him see me. let him see how i feel.' kyojuro only smiles, taking the food you made and the letter, not saying a word. in truth, kyojuro doesn't like you that way. he sees you as a little sister; he only acts dense just so he wont hurt you, just so he wont see you cry, just so this comfortable friendship you shared and built together wont disappear. | a/n ; bye this is so shitty im so sorry.

Yakuza!Kyōjurō x F!S/O: Sugar and Spice (Mafia!AU, Modern AU, NSFW Series)[Chapter 8]
Summary: Kyōjurō and (Y/n) meet at a party, only to find out that their lives would change forever— since they had been arranged to be married.
Note: I have nothing against McDonald’s; I love some of their things (Nuggets!!!). It’s just that the contrast between what (Y/n)’s mother had always had, compared to something so normal makes me laugh.
Warnings: Smut, Making Out, Candy Swapping, Semi-Public Sex (Private Beach), Teasing, Champagne Blowjob, Cum Swallowing
||Sugar and Spice Masterlist||
***
It had been a couple of days since the pleasurable incident at the Rengoku clan’s mountain home and, for the life of her, (Y/n) couldn’t get it out of her head. Especially at night, when she begun fantasizing about having Kyōjurō’s hands all over her again, with his chest pressed flush against her back.
She would never admit it, but she was addicted— after only the barest taste of him.
And she would have devised a plan to wring the same pleasure from him again, had he not called her the following morning to say that something had come up in Osaka. That would have been find, if it only took a day to fix it. But, apparently, it was going to take a few days.
(Y/n) had tried not to let her disappointment show in her tone, but Kyōjurō must have picked up on it, since she had gotten the most beautiful bouquet of pink and white hydrangeas— as well as one of Kyōjurō’s button down shirts— a mere hour after they had said goodbye to each other.
The card had even held the sweetest inscription she had ever received, which she quickly used to cover her face— as she raced back up the stairs to get back to the privacy of her room.
At that present moment, with her already done getting herself ready for the day, she took a brief moment for herself and sat down on the edge of her bed; taking the card where she had left it on top of her nightstand, and biting back a smile as she read her fiancé’s writing.
‘You are much like hydrangeas; Beautiful, but selfish with your love. I hope that I can take a piece of your heart while I’m gone, And I hope that someday I’ll have your love, (Y/n).
P.S. I’m giving you my shirt, so that it will keep a little bit of me with you.
Forever Yours, Kyōjurō’
(Y/n) couldn’t help but bite down on her lower lip, if only to bite back the giggle that threatened to spill from her lips. She had been reading the card frequently, yet it still managed to elicit the same reaction from her; as if she were a lovesick teenager.
It was very unbecoming for her; especially over someone whom she was still getting to know.
Kyōjurō was going to become her husband, that was a fact, but there was a tiny voice in her head that always warned her to not get too close. Thankfully, it had been small enough to bury beneath all of her foremost thoughts; yet when she was alone— like at that moment— it gained enough momentum to make itself known.
And the smile on her face, which brightened up her features, turned down into a barely perceptible frown. It was dangerous for her to fall so easily for a man; especially a man that she knew was still keeping his cards close to his chest.
She knew that; after all, she wasn’t that far gone in her blossoming feelings for him.
It would have been so easy to keep herself in check, to guard her heart and keep herself sane… if only he didn’t make her feel like throwing all caution to the wind so she could jump and fall right into his arms.
Just like he had told her that she made him happy, Kyōjurō made her feel the same; along with feeling protected and appreciated.
Before (Y/n) could delve in deeper into her own thoughts however, she quickly shook herself from her reverie and placed the card back down on her nightstand. Then, she got up from her bed and straightened herself out; after all, Rin hadn’t been coming to her room to pester her about attending events in her parents’ stead.
Now that she thought about it, she hadn’t been tasked to attend any political functions ever since Kyōjurō had warned her mother to lessen her tasks. It gave her enough time to actually relax during her break, and it felt amazing.
She had to remember to give Kyōjurō a kiss once he returned. And if she were to be honest, she would say that she missed him.
“You’re too invested, (Y/n),” The young woman muttered to herself with a playful scoff, before shaking her head and making her way down to the dining room. It was time for breakfast, after all; her most dreaded part of the day, since she had to sit there and take all of her mother’s ill-concealed jabs.
Her tasks may have lessened, but her family life sure hasn’t improved.
With all her apprehension about going to see her mother, (Y/n) even dawdled a little bit during the walk downstairs; purposely taking her time to admire some of the paintings that caught her interest, until she arrived at the doorway she was trying to avoid the most.
And with a deep breath, she stepped through and expected her mother’s mildly displeased expression to greet her. Only, the first face that she saw had her immediately brightening up; especially when those lips that she missed tilted up at the corners to give her a handsome grin.
“Kyōjurō!” (Y/n) breathed out, just as a wide smile colored her expression. And before she could help it, she already found herself practically skipping over to where he now stood— only to freeze when she saw her mother’s narrow-eyed gaze boring right into her.
Immediately, the arms that wanted to wrap themselves around her lover froze at her sides; while Kyōjurō engulfed her in a tight embrace, before pressing a chaste kiss to her lips. “Did you miss me, princess?”
“I… I did.” She admitted, her smile almost faltering once, as she felt her mother’s glare boring right into her back. However, she was shielded by Kyōjurō’s face, so she allowed herself a little bit of rebellion and leaned in to peck his lips— all while her hands lifted themselves up and settled themselves at his sides in a pseudo hug.
As her mother had kept repeating to her while she was growing up: it was unbecoming of someone of her social status to show too much emotion to anyone, as it gave people a leverage over her. And it was obvious that it had stuck to her, since she could only act normally whenever she wasn’t around any people who gave a damn about who she was.
Thankfully, she was shaken from her reverie by Kyōjurō guiding her to sit down on the empty chair next to where he sat. “Go and eat, baby. You need your strength for today.”
Kyōjurō’s words were innocent enough, but they didn’t fail to make goosebumps raise across her skin. They were so laden with hidden meaning, at least in her mind, that she couldn’t shake the warmth that pooled at the pit of her stomach.
With those words hanging in the air, she turned her full attention to the food set out on the table— holding back a surprised expression when she saw that it was laden with carry-out boxes from McDonald’s. A laugh wanted to bubble free from the sight of the lavish table paired off with something so… common, yet (Y/n) could only purse her lips together as she grabbed the laid-out silverware to serve herself a pancake.
Breakfasts used to be such a droll agenda whenever she was at home, but Kyōjurō had managed to spin such a humorous twist on it that made her want to kiss him.
The best part? Rengoku Kyōjurō had practically forced her mother— the wife of the Prime Minister, and the prissiest woman to ever live— to eat an Egg McMuffin.
(Y/n) would never forget the undernoted look of disgust that she kept shooting the blond at her side; the very man whom, she was naught to admit, was starting to become such an essential part of her life.
“How’s your McMuffin… okaa-sama?” Kyōjurō asked quietly, looking so regal even with a paper cup of coffee in his right hand. And (Y/n) could only get swept into him even more, when he turned to her and gave her the most attractive wink; one that had her heart practically skipping in her chest.
***
When (Y/n) had heard that she should keep her strength up for the day, she had expected so much more than just going to the beach— which Kyōjurō’s family apparently bought a few years ago— and being told that her fiancé only wanted to relax.
If she were to be honest, she would say that she expected to get railed so hard on the blanket. After all, it was why she had worn the sundress that she was sure accented all of her curves; one that would entice Kyōjurō into doing just what she wanted him to.
There wasn’t anything wrong with hoping to get fucked by such a sexy man, but it had been a few days, and she was sure that he was trying to put on a show just to tease her. That was the problem: he wasn’t giving in to her.
He merely laid down next to her on their blanket— in all his shirtless glory— while he kept eating that goddamned hard candy that was in the glass bowl next to him. And to make things worse for her, he looked so attractive— especially with his abs out on display, and his sunglasses framing his face so perfectly.
She would have long straddled his hips and slipped his cock inside her, had she been that shameless of a woman.
It wasn’t much of a statement coming from her, based on how they had first met, but it was different because they were out in the open; where anyone could happen by and take pictures of them humping like rabbits on the beach.
That wasn’t a headline that she wanted the entirety of Japan to see, even if she knew that the property was as secluded and secure as it could be.
Still, Kyōjurō was making it so hard to resist him. And he knew just how badly he was affecting her.
“Do you want to eat something, baby? Maybe a drink?” Kyōjurō asked softly, raising his sunglasses to the top of his head while he turned to look at (Y/n)— whom was no longer scrolling through her phone, and was blatantly ogling his body.
He would be lying if he said that he didn’t like that, or if he said that that wasn’t turning him on.
In fact, he had wanted to push her down on the table at her house, had her mother not been there to keep giving him ill-concealed glares. But he had to keep it in his pants, since he wanted to see how she would react with a little bit of pushing from him.
After all, he could make her so needy for him that it would make for the hottest nights of their life; especially if he kept on teasing her bit by bit until their wedding night.
It was too little too late, after he had already had a taste of her tight pussy, but it only made things much more exciting for him. If only he wasn’t constantly close to asking her to fuck him.
“A glass of champagne would be nice…” (Y/n) answered softly, the flush on her face getting more evident in the shade, especially when her eyes flickered up to meet his own. They were so intense with need that Kyōjurō couldn’t help it…
He cupped her face with one hand and pulled her in to his face, as he sat upright to meet her halfway.
The first touch of his lips to hers had his entire body tingling with warmth, as if it was coming alive under her touch. And it was only made better when their slow and tentative kisses slowly escalated to open-mouthed ones; ones that had him feeling himself getting hard.
Especially when she reached down and cupped her hand over his hardening cock.
A smirk tugged at the corners of Kyōjurō’s lips then, as he got it in his mind to push the piece of candy in his mouth into hers.
(Y/n) was clearly surprised at first, tensing up the tiniest bit, before getting swept up in her fiancé’s pace. His tongue kept prodding at hers, trying to pull the candy back into his own mouth, which she complied to.
Gingerly, she allowed him to take the sweet from her mouth, instantly missing its sweetness, before it was gently pushed right back in— so warm and a little minty, with a hint of something that was uniquely Kyōjurō.
Or maybe that was her lust addled mind talking.
However, before things could escalate further, the blond pulled away with a grin— his candy back in his mouth. “I’ll be back with your champagne, princess.”
To say that she was shocked and feeling cross with him was a total understatement. She was feeling so irate that she wanted to get some sort of revenge on him— which had been fueled by her less-than-innocent searches while he was gone.
So, she stewed in her own impatience— even sitting up on her knees— just so she could take him by surprise when he came back.
Thankfully, Kyōjurō didn’t take too long with getting her drink; grinning right at her even if she could see the obvious bulge in his swim trunks. It provided the perfect opportunity for her to get back at him, at least even a little.
And when he got back on their blanket, giving her the glass of champagne before making a move to sit back down, (Y/n) got up on her knees and placed a hand on his right thigh— looking up at him and licking her lips, before sliding that hand up to cup his hard-on once more.
“You look uncomfortable,” The young woman whispered, as she slowly undid the tie to her fiancé’s shorts and gently pushed them down his hips; much like how she pushed her own trepidations aside, and threw all caution to the wind.
She was on private property. And she trusted, deep down, that Kyōjurō would protect her and her reputation if it came down to it.
So, she let go of her inhibitions— especially when she was greeted by her fiancé’s hard cock in front of her face. It was thick, and long, and a little bit curved— which had her pussy getting so wet already.
Remembering how amazing he felt inside her even had her squeezing her thighs together, if only to alleviate the lust that she felt bubbling within her.
Gingerly, she took his cock in her right hand, pumping it slowly, and using her thumb to spread the precum that beaded at his tip. A low groan was her reward for that, which only spurred her on even more— especially when she saw his eyes close in pleasure.
Just the faintest of touches and he was already like that. She couldn’t wait to see what his reaction was going to be when she set her plans into action.
And when she leaned forward to suck on the tip of his cock, she felt confidence flaring up within her when Kyōjurō moaned aloud— with his right hand making its way into her hair.
It was hot, but she was not going to get swept up in his pace again.
So, before he could try to give her a nudge to take more of him in her mouth, (Y/n) pulled the head of his cock out of her mouth and took a big sip from the champagne flute in her left hand. And with that, she set the drink down on the blanket— hoping that it wouldn’t topple over.
She kept the cool and bubbly drink in her mouth— looking up again at Kyōjurō, whom was watching her with such a lust-filled gaze— before taking his cock in her mouth once more.
That time, however, Kyōjurō actually cried out in pleasure; hips bucking involuntarily as he felt the champagne’s bubbles teasing his cock. Partnered with the coolness of the drink, and the warmth of (Y/n)’s mouth, the blond was on his slow descent to thinking that he was going crazy with pleasure.
His head was already spinning from the sensations, and she had barely even taking his cock.
But when she swallowed around his tip, before circling her cool tongue around the crown of his cock, he felt his fingers curling into her hair. Hell, he had barely even managed to look up at the security camera perched on a light pole, as a warning for whoever was watching to turn away at that moment.
Slowly, pleasurably, (Y/n) kept taking more and more of Kyōjurō’s cock in her mouth— until she was all the way down to the hilt, with her nose pressed against his trimmed pubes.
And he thought that it couldn’t get any better than that, until she took the hand that was on his thigh to cup his balls and start fondling them.
His eyes almost rolled back into his head at that moment, as he threw his head back and lost himself to the heady feeling of her sucking him off; trying to bring him to the most intense orgasm that he was ever going to get from a blowjob.
Instead of trying to prolong his pleasure though, Kyōjurō began to gently rock his hips into (Y/n)’s face; breathing heavily and moaning aloud as he felt his orgasm crawling up on him.
“I’m cumming,” The blond whispered breathlessly, close to outright fucking his fiancée’s face, when she pulled his cock out of her mouth— leaving just the tip inside— before jerking her off with one hand.
All while the other one kept fondling his balls.
It was so heady that Kyōjurō could only cry out “Fuck, baby! Fuck, fuck, fuck!” as he spurted thick ropes of cum right on her tongue. She was white hot pleasure personified, and he was sure of it at that very moment.
Maybe he really couldn’t wait until the wedding night to have her again.
Especially when she made a show of popping her cock out of her mouth, and sticking her tongue out to show him his cum— before closing her lips and swallowing his thick seed.
“How did I get so lucky, princess?”

Love Unconditional
Thank you to justheretoaskandread for my first request! I hope you enjoy it!
Kyojuro RengokuxReader, SFW, Angst
The air hissed as his brilliant red blade cut through it in an overarching sweep, he moved straight into another strike. Kyojuro’s eyebrows knitted together in focus.
“I can’t do this anymore, Kyojuro.”
He changed his footing and moved into Rising Scorching Sun, no matter how he moved or pushed his thoughts he couldn’t remove the ugly, sickly burning sensation coiling in his stomach.
She was being unfair.
“I’m being unfair?! What’s unfair is that I’m supposed to be emotionally safe and open with you but you can’t be with me!”
Nothing could be done about those feelings, they didn’t help anything, why couldn’t she understand that? He moved faster, urging the rage to flow through his arms and out of his fingertips. It stayed trapped in his chest.
She placed the engagement ring with a ruby and diamond intertwined in a flame on the countertop, directly atop the gold wedding ring it had been carefully crafted to nestle against.
“If I’m going to only be allowed to see the same face that you show everyone else, then being your wife is a bit of a lie isn’t it? Because clearly I’m no different than anyone else for you.”
The rings were nestled in his breast pocket, every sweep of his arm allowed him to feel their presence weighing against his heart. He just didn’t want her pity, he didn’t need it, he was strong, and he could bear anything if he focused on the right things. Why was she wanting him to focus on negative feelings? That never accomplished anything! Why was she upset that he only wanted to show her his best self?
“Kyojuro?”
The Flame Hashira stopped, mid strike, his sword above his head, he lowered the katana, turning to the porch and swiftly bowed, lying his bare katana next to him. “Forgive me Master, I didn’t mean to disturb you!” He had been so deep in his head he hadn’t noticed the door open or sensed the Corp leader approach.
He smiled, “Not at all, but I thought you had gone home for the evening?”
“Yes! But I thought I might come back and train with some of my fellow Pillars, it seems no one is here so I decided I might practice a while before heading home!”
“Yes I think the other children have all gone to their own residences.” Kagaya confirmed, he took a couple steps forward sat on the edge of the porch, Kyojuro watched him to make sure he didn’t stray too close to the edge, but he seemed to know where it was, he kneeled right before the edge, “Come sit with me my child.”
Kyojuro blinked and straightened, he sheathed his katana in a smooth motion and walked over to the porch, he sat beside Kagaya, allowing his feet to dangle over the sides.
“Why don’t you tell me what is bothering you?”
“Nothing master, I’m quite well! There is nothing to worry about!” Kyojuro answered confidently with a convincing smile, wishing it would work inwardly on his agitated heart.
Kagaya’s smile softened, “I see.” He stared at Kyojuro with his pale sightless eyes, the Flame Pillar felt himself starting to uncoil, similarly to how Y/N’s soft eyes would do. His throat tightened and he looked away. “Can I ask what you have there in your breast pocket? I could hear it clicking.”
Kyojuro’s smile fell, he reached into the pocket and pulled out the two rings, holding them carefully between his fingers, “They’re Y/N’s wedding and engagement rings. It seems she no longer wishes to have me as her husband. Perhaps it is for the best, we have been fighting a lot recently…Maybe we are not a good match.” He blinked hard, trying to fight back the warmth building in his eyes.
“Maybe, or maybe you are being pushed to grow closer together. What are you two fighting about?” Kagaya asked, before Kyojuro could question what he meant.
“She says that I am not open with her, but we communicate frequently! I find myself getting frustrated with her when she asks if something is wrong, because nothing is, and I don’t understand why she wants there to be something wrong! I don’t understand why she wants to pity me.”
“But when you do feel the pains of frustration or sadness, do you tell her?”
Kyojuro paused, looking out across the yard, “I don’t.”
“Hm.” Kagaya was silent for a moment and then asked, “Kyojuro, when I send you on a mission with one of the other children do you think it is because I believe you are pitiful?”
“No at all Master!”
“So why do you think I ask you to go together?”
“Because two of us can accomplish the task faster and more efficiently than one, especially if we are working in unison!”
Kagaya closed his eyes in a smile, “Exactly, and so you can protect each other, do you think Mitsuri is weak or pitiful when you assist her?”
“No.”
“So why do you help her?”
“Because I care about her, I want her to be safe and successful.”
“Do you not believe Y/N wants the same for you? We all have many burdens we must bear, but something beautiful about having a loved one is that they can help us bear our load, even if we don’t need the help, allowing them to help us gives them a chance to support and show their love for us. Our negative feelings are just as important as our happy ones, it is a wonderful trait of humanity and allows us to improve.” He touched Kyojuro’s arm, “I think Y/N just wants to be able to love all the sides that you have to offer, and to be a place of rest for you. The same way you do for her.”
Kyojuro looked down at his hand, “But Master those sides are…”
“Unbecoming, yes.” He nodded, “But have you not also seen her not so favorable sides?”
A small smile slipped upon his lips as he thought about a few choice times, “Yes.”
“And yet you love her all the same, don’t you?”
He closed his noon-sun colored eyes, “Yes.”
Kagaya smiled and they both looked up as Amane came up behind them with a wrapped package. She kneeled down, “Here Kyojuro, take these. I’m sure you haven’t eaten yet.”
“Thank you very much!” Kyojuro stood and gave her a bow. “Master, will you excuse me? I have a mission I haven’t yet seen to.”
“Of course my child. Give Y/N my regards.”
“I will!”
Sakura petals spun as they floated on the calmly flowing river, Y/N sat on the pier beneath it’s towering branches. She let her tears leave her to become part of the river. Dusk was settling in now, the air cooling down quickly, she didn’t feel it. Her throat felt raw and as much as she wished to let out her anger it wasn’t there, she had a practice sword beside her, but it laid there collecting petals. She didn’t want to leave Kyojuro, or for him to leave her, but she couldn’t keep leaving herself vulnerable to someone who wasn’t willing to be vulnerable back, it wasn’t fair and it was weighing her down. ‘I want to help him, I want to be with him but how am I supposed to do that if he doesn’t let me? Is there really nothing I can do?’ The tears ran faster at the thought that there might be nothing, that it really could just be done.
“Y/N?”
She lifted her head and turned, mentally cursing as more tears fell seeing him. Because she was so glad to see him and yet it was an immediate punch to her gut.
Kyojuro quickly started towards her, wanting to stop her tears before remembering himself and stopping, his face darkened with shame. He closed his eyes and gripped the knot of the cloth Amane had wrapped the plates in, he looked into her eyes and she saw pain just running in wild circles in his irises, “Can we talk?”
“Yeah.” She sniffed and faced the front. Kyojuro quickly walked over to her, sitting down beside her he set the package on his other side and faced her, gently cupping her cheek in his hand he wiped away the tears with his thumb. He was terrified she would push his hand away and was relieved when all she did was open her eyes. He softly rubbed her cheekbone and ran his thumb down the side of her cheek, “Is...is getting a divorce really what you want dearest?” She put her hand over his and opened her eyes.
“No Kyojuro, I don’t. I love you very much and I want to be with you, but it hurts seeing you smiling and acting like something isn’t bothering you, like negative feelings aren’t allowed. Do you really expect me to believe that you don’t miss your mom? Or that it didn’t hurt when Shinjurou dismissed you becoming the Flame Hashira?”
He lowered his gaze, “To be honest, I don’t allow myself to think about those things. But when you say it hurts you to see me do that it makes me feel like you think I’m weak, that you think I should be pitied. So it upsets me when I tell you I’m fine but you keep pushing the matter.”
She shook her head, resting her other hand on his knee, “Kyojuro I don’t think you’re weak. I don’t think you’re pitiful either, and I’m sorry I made you feel that way. That’s not what I wanted, and I shouldn’t push you when you say you’re fine, that’s selfish.”
“I know you don’t. And it is partly my fault, if I just talked to you then you wouldn’t have to push me about the matter.” Kyojuro said softly, “I’m just not used to expressing my negative feelings, and I don’t like how I act when I feel them, I don’t feel like me.”
“They’re not you Kyojuro, they’re just parts of you, and they don’t cancel out the good parts.” She ran her fingers through his bangs, “And I won’t stop loving you just because you complain or something is bothering you.”
“Thank you dearest.” He caught her hand, turning it upward he pressed soft kisses to the middle of her wrist and the center of her palm, he looked up at her and put his forehead against hers. Kyojuro reached into his pocket and pulled out the rings, holding them up to her. “Y/N, will you do me the honor of being the amazing Mrs. Kyojuro Rengoku?”
She smiled and gave him a soft kiss, “I will.”

— Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 -
I am seeing him again today, was the only thought running without ever stopping in my mind. Thrill and excitement were filling my entire being. That energy was put to good use by walking a lot, I barely saw time fly by. We did stop too many times for my taste, but complaining would do me no good. Instead, I was counting down the remaining distance until we reached the estate. I received a few comments from the most daring recruits, when my pace started getting too fast. Uchiyama was the recruit in question, he did not feel one ounce of fear towards me, even knowing I was his captain. He had put a hand on my shoulder and frowned. “Captain, are we in a hurry or something?” was what he had told me the time I dared speed up.
Chuckling, almost bashfully, I’d shaken my head and slowed down, “You are right, there is no rush. Should we take a break and eat?” When I heard the small voices behind agreeing, we all thought it best to settle for a while and have lunch. It did not take them long to finish their meal, even amidst their laughter and jokes. I was glad to see them so carefree after all they had been through. The look in their eyes had changed from the time they had joined the corps; they had lived through events that shaped the soul in the most awful ways, and I could see it in the absence of a glimmer in their gaze. Even with that change, I had them alive by my side and matured, it was the closest I could get to a success.
Losing myself in thoughts, I pondered more.
We had suffered losses, but what better way to mourn than to remember the good times we had and to keep living? To best honor the dead is to live a life we would define as worth it. Not to let others define it, but to feel in the depth of our core that we made the best of it, in our own way. Then again, everyone mourned differently. Takeshi and Daisuke were proof of that. The former had needed a lot of time alone; everyone had been there to support him, trying to joke around and to keep things as they were before all of it happened. Daisuke, while he kept a huge smile on his face, saw more than he should have at such a young age. He played it off, he kept his armour on, even if sorrow was written all over his face.
Many recruits were aware their friends died somehow, but they did not see it unfold in front of their eyes. But Daisuke had seen his partner get killed in front of him. It left him scarred, in the depth of his being, thatI knew from the relentless nights I spent by his side trying to calm his night terrors. Only time could help with the things he had gone through, but being with others that had lived through some of those things with him also had helped greatly. Seeing them knit-tight close was heartwarming.
It almost made me forget what was coming, what we were all getting ready for. Blinking out of my thoughts, I had come to the realization I was not participating much in the conversation.
I kept a certain distance from them when I was eating a bit further away. However, the distance was more than physical. I hated myself for doing so, but I could not let them get too close in case I lost them during this last battle. That thought crossed my mind too many times during this entire mission. Every time one of them came up to me for help, for advice, or even friendship, I would welcome them, but my heart would tell me it was a bad idea. Yet, I kept telling them to not hesitate if they needed to talk. A wrong move was the only way I would describe it, but I was their mentor, and we all needed some reassurance from time to time. I was the main provider of that reassurance, no matter how much I tried to talk sense into my actions of getting close to them.
“Captain! We should resume, I believe we just might arrive by lunch if we walk a bit faster,” Hana said enthusiastically. She helped everyone pack after I told her we could do that, adding that it would be great to have a warm meal and see everyone. I kept to myself the excitement I was feeling to finally see Kyojuro again; it was hard to do so with the little shivers I would get. The weather was far from cold, but the idea of seeing his beautiful face again, to be finally able to hold him, to enjoy more of him than that fleeting moment at the fireworks when our lips finally met, it sent energy coursing through my body.
As I was leading everyone, I could hear the loudest of my recruits talk in what they thought was a whisper, “Come on Jin, do you like the Captain? Is that why you’re all-“ Not wanting Jin to combust in embarrassment, I called out over my shoulder sternly, “Uchiyama, leave him alone. I suggest you learn the difference between admiration and love,” Pausing, I quickly added in a lighter tone, “Anyone would be amazed by my fighting skills, I could take you all in a fight,” I huffed jokingly. A few of them laughed and told Uchiyama he should keep his mouth shut, even adding that if the Captain was the one to reprimand him, he had fucked up. Seeing how everyone resumed talking merrily together, Daisuke approached me, bumping my shoulder, a bit too familiar for my taste but I let him.
“Say, you’re a bit quiet in the front. Is everything alright? You don’t seem excited to return to the estate,” Daisuke said, worry laced in his tone. His demeanor made him look smaller than he actually was, he acted shy and unsure of his movements, but all of that disappeared when he entered a fight. It was interesting to know he was the one I had seen fight with determination, with no hesitation in his motions, only raw strength capable of cutting body parts. He was the same man that had been by my side the entire month and throughout fights even as fear had overrun his body. Daisuke was a great addition to the corps and to my closer circle, even if I wanted to keep him away from me in case I lost him.
Looking at him with a playful smile, I lowered my tone and whispered, “If I may be honest with you, I am more than excited to return. However, it will not do us any good to have me all over the place,” I huffed a laugh, surprising Daisuke. A curious brow rose on his expressive face, “I’ve never seen you like this! Is there something waiting for you at the estate? Wait—is it the person you’ve been exchanging letters with?” He asked a bit too rapidly, his speech faster than usual from how thrilled he was. It made me chuckle more, my face heating up lightly, but I could blame it on the long trek we had started and not tell him I was flustered at the mere thought of Kyojuro. “It is, I have someone waiting for me,” and no words can really express how much I miss him, I thought, nodding with a chuckle.
“Can I ask who it is? I am curious now!” He asked in hushed whispers, a genuine smile adorning his features. Shaking my head, I rolled my eyes at how childish he sounded. But, it was heartwarming to see his interest, so I replied, “If you must know, it is the Fire Pillar-“ “Sir Rengoku! That is so grand! An intense man indeed, but definitely not as intense as sir Himejima, I remember my training with him…” He then started talking about his experience with Gyomei, I listened intently. For some reason, I preferred having him talk about himself than having him prying in my personal life. I still felt odd mentioning I was with Rengoku, no matter how much I loved him, simply because I was not sure people would take it well that we are having our own fun while a big battle was brewing.
I enjoyed having Daisuke talk by my side as we made our way back to the Butterfly Estate, of course I would not let him have a monologue, I would intervene and ask questions. Everyone was bantering light-heartedly behind us, which almost made the situation normal; I did not know if it was on purpose, to try to keep this faux-semblance of normality or if they were really carefree. The latter would be hard to believe, considering all they had been through recently, but I liked the idea of still having them optimistic and hopeful. How ironic.
The further we walked, the faster my heart was beating. I thought talking with Daisuke would help calm my rapidly beating heart, but all it did was embarrass me. I would sometimes stammer, my speech being faster than what it would usually be. That’s when I decided to keep my tongue in check and not speak as much as I would have liked. Daisuke did not find any inconvenience to that; I had seen his short smile the few times his gaze would look at the way my hand was clenching the handle of my sword. If I did not do that, I would have been drumming my fingers or playing with my hands from how stressed I was.
It took us a few hours of walking to finally reach the estate. Fortunately, the sun was high above our heads, meaning we had arrived around midday. It means more time with him, I thought eagerly. I had to take a deep breath to stop myself from running to the doors and tried my hardest to slow my pulse down. Everyone was chattering happily, some saying they could use a bath, others craved a bowl of rice, and I knew the quiet ones were longing for a good night’s sleep in a warm futon.
I longed for his arms. I wanted to run all around the estate to find him and throw myself at him, not caring if anyone was watching, not caring if he’d fall down. Would he be as excited as I was? Would he allow me to be this open? I am sure he would, he has never been discrete even before we officially got together, I thought with a smile.
“Captain, you can go find him if you’d like! I’ll get everyone to their room-“ “No, it’s alright. I am not that desperate,” a lie. A blatant lie. The pressure in my chest was insufferable, my insides were churning, more shivers ran down my spine with each step I took towards the mansion. If I put more thought into being aware of my entire body, I would feel how my feet were uncoordinated and my hands were clammy. Excitement was at its peak, and I knew I was more than desperate. I was aching to hold him, to touch him, to love him… “If you say so! We should hurry and get some food,” Daisuke startled me out of my thoughts.
Telling everyone to walk ahead, I made sure to secure the gate once we had stepped inside. They all seemed as excited as children on a field trip to the forest. I had a hard time feeling like that because my mind kept wandering to the thought of Kyojuro. When the recruits entered the estate, I stepped around the building and made my way to where I believed Rengoku could have been training his group. I made sure to hide my presence to not startle him and keep him focused. “One, two, three, and again! The other way, one, two, slash! Good work, good work! You are all improving greatly, I am sure we can go even further! Let’s try this again,” Hearing his voice made my heart burst with joy, but I kept my composure and leaned from behind the wall to catch a glimpse of his features.
I was caught off guard when I realized a new scar was adorning his beautiful face. While it was covered by an eye patch, I could see the pinkened skin on his cheek. All my excitement turned into panic, what had I missed? What had happened that left him like that? “You! Come here, try with me. If you manage to hit me, everyone gets a break, let’s begin!” I heard him speak loudly, his voice roaring like thunder as always. I got startled when he had called out the recruit, then realized he was not talking to me and sighed in relief.
He was smiling broadly, his hair sticking to his face as usual even if it was tied back. He did not seem to mind one bit to be lacking part of his sight and yet I could not help but feel pity. Would he want that? I do not think so, but there was no helping it. I wanted to interrupt him and talk to him aside, but seeing him training so hard, his determination unchanged and his skills just as sharp, I had to let him work.
Deciding to leave him alone until he would retire to his chambers, I turned around and was about to walk back to my recruits when my path was blocked by someone. That someone being the Sound Pillar.
“You’re back, why don’t you go talk to him?” He puffed his chest, his arms low on his stomach, hands hidden in the huge sleeves of his attire, as he looked at me with what looked like disdain. He seemed changed too; just like Rengoku, he had an eye patch. His was a lot less simple however, it was covered with little jewels. The married man was not wearing his Pillar outfit either, no. Instead, he had his hair down and had opted for a kimono that was very loose on the top, enough to show off his muscles. While I wanted to think he was showing off, the weather was warm and heavy, which could explain his attire. Trying to act casual, I shrugged, “He is busy,” I said off-handedly, looking to the side.
“See, you can’t look away now! It’s awkward enough that you’ve stared and all,” He grumbled, I quickly apologized, meeting his eyes again with a small smile. “God, you’re making this so awkward and for what?” He scoffed, annoyed, before gesturing for me to follow him with a motion of his head; as I did, I asked in all seriousness, “Do not be frustrated at me, how would you feel if when you returned from a long mission everyone had changed drastically?” The man had since calmed down and looked over his shoulder, his gaze observant and calculating. “Change is a big word, don’t you think? I like to say we were sketches, drafts, and now we are the final product, that is all.” He said, in the hopes of sounding poetic perhaps. “Each stroke is what makes the art, right? You paint over the lines you don’t like; you leave the one you feel makes it better, and sometimes when you accidentally brush over the paper, it looks great. Accidents are great.”
Offering him a slight chuckle, not really getting his metaphor, I nodded as I sat down when he did. He had guided us back inside, in one of the tea rooms and had gestured for me to pour us a cup each. I did not comment on his words. “What happened?” I asked as I brought the burning cup to my lips. It was not the greatest weather to drink such a warm beverage, but I enjoyed it, nonetheless. “You cannot ask someone how they got their scar-“ “Uzui, I am serious. Is there anyone that did not make it? Why was I not made aware of all the damage everyone had taken?” His demeanor changed greatly. While he had an air of playfulness, light-heartedness even, seconds ago, now he looked at me sternly.
Sighing, he leaned back on one hand and brought one knee closer to his chest, “The district was attacked, I am retired, nothing more,” He paused, giving me a long stare before continuing, “For the others, it happened at the swordsmith village. No one died, I think Ren took the most damage and he is doing great, as you’ve seen,” I had. I had seen how he looked, but even behind this enthusiastic attitude, I was certain he was exhausted and in pain, he had shared that at least through his letters.
I felt hurt that he had not told me about his injury, but I could not feel anger yet. He must have had a good reason to do so, and to find out I would have to talk with him. “Are you retiring with your wives or will they be continuing-“ “Of course I’m retiring with my gals! I’m just here to help train recruits, they need to be in perfect shape if they want to be able to carry my legacy,” He said with a loud laugh, I joined him in his joy with more modesty.
He had indeed not changed much, but there was still something different about him. Uzui had always been mature, as much as it pained me to admit it, but he seemed even more so now. What had he seen at the district, or perhaps had been through, that shaped him like that? I could see in his eyes he wanted all of this to be over, he wanted peace, to return to his wives’ arms and to relax. The time was nearing when he would be able to do so. And when that time comes, I will have a sunken feeling in my chest that will only be shaken off by our victory.
“You’re still stupid to not go talk to him, the man’s been blabbering without ever stopping about you,” He quirked a brow, looking at me curiously and added, “I do not know what you’ve been exchanging in those letters of yours, but it fired him up to a point where we can barely have him take a break,” Leaning forward, he took a sip of his tea then raised his index as he added “The recruits are definitely paying the price, I hope you’ll apologize to them.” A laugh of relief and joy escaped my lips upon knowing Rengoku had been encouraged by my letters. However, I did not know which part had had him in such a state; was it the dream of a peaceful life together or my lewd words? Whichever it was, a funny feeling settled in my stomach.
I leaned forward, resting my elbows on the small table in front of us, “I am glad it helped him as much as it helped me, I will admit it was very tense out there and-“ I paused, shaking my head, “I’m sure it is not of your interest how everything went down, so tell me,” Looking up at him again, I smiled and continued, making sure not to shove my cup with my elbow, “What made you want to retire? What happened in the district that led you to this decision?” His face turned sour, his gaze diverting to the cup he was holding for a short moment. Slowly, he set it down and looked at his lap a moment before lifting his head high once again. “This,” He spat, pulling his left sleeve to show his hand, or lack thereof. It was still bandaged, but I was not sure it was because it was still healing.
From his attitude, he seemed angry to show it, if not ashamed. What I knew was that he did not need pity, so I held back from showing shock on my face. Instead, I breathed out, “I can understand the change in career,” His face lit up in surprise, then he let out a loud laugh. “Yeah, kind of hard to fight now. But hey, that doesn’t mean I can’t please my women,” He said with a wiggle of his fingers. I had to give him a look at how vulgar it sounded. I still huffed a chuckle, “A lot of people are attracted to scars, I am sure Makio, Suma and Hinatsuru find you just as charming.”
I was taken aback when his cheeks turned redder. He tried to cover it by taking a sip from his cup, but I had seen it and found it relieving that even this loud man could be flustered from genuine compliments. “They’ve been great, I should be glad they’re not leaving,” I surprised myself when I reacted by instinct and leaned over the small table to hit the top of his head. The clutter of the cup hitting the tatami echoed, but I did not pay it any mind. “They are anything but shallow! How could you believe for even a second they would have left your side?” Seeing his eye widen in shock made me realize I had been louder than I had meant to be, and that maybe I had taken his words at heart. His situation could be compared to Rengoku’s, and if my lover had spoken those words to me, I would have reacted the same way I did right now.
“I am sorry for the outburst,” I whispered, sitting back on the pillow. “You have been through so much with them. So, even if insecurities are hard to reason with… you must realize how much they love you just from knowing they stood by your side even when you were the loudest man on earth, I would even say annoying,” I finished jokingly while still meaning every word. A change in his appearance would never erase all that they had been through together, I could only hope he would realize that.
He was looking outside while I spoke, and when I was done, he smiled sincerely, “I don’t need your speech, I am awesome, I know it,” He huffed, giving me a side look before adding, “But thank you, I am sure someone else would love to hear those words,” I knew full well who he meant, and I had planned on speaking them to him too, whether he needed to hear those words or not. If I was being honest with myself, fear was my first feeling upon seeing Kyojuro scarred, the second one was admiration and perhaps it added a charm to his bright face. A roguish look that I might become fond of without needing to put too much thought into it.
After this heartwarming talk Uzui and I had, he told me about what happened while I was away. How a lot of them almost died at the Red District, but also how they had defeated one of the Upper Ranks Six demons. From what he had told me, the fight was rough, but they had pulled through with little losses. The three young recruits that had been sent there while I was still here had pushed through and were now training with the Pillars. He briefly mentioned the fight at the Swordsmith Village, but since he was not there he only repeated what he had been told or what he had read in the reports he had been allowed to overview. He had not been able to see Rengoku’s report, but he had seen him come back, face and back bloody.
I felt sick hearing his storytelling, but kept a composed face. It was hard to fight the urge to run to Kyojuro and tell him all the things he wanted to hear, to hold him close and to reassure him. If I could, I would tell him to go back to bed and rest, I would even promise him I’d sing to him every day, every night, without ever stopping if that was what was needed to have him safe.
But I didn’t. I couldn’t. It would be selfish to do so, and he was doing great. At least, that was the façade he was showing. The truth is, I was not convinced he was alright, but Uzui’s words gave me hope that my lover was actually doing fine.
We talked for a long hour to catch up. It was enjoyable, even if we would usually bicker, we were adults and it felt great to be able to talk as such. What made us part ways was the grumble of my stomach after a while; it came with not joining the recruits for lunch.
I was told to go eat and rest, not only by Uzui but also by Sumi who had entered the tea room in case we needed anything. Dutifully, I followed their order and went to have a nice meal before going back to my room to unwind. It felt out of place reading and relaxing when people were training for a war. None had any will to take part in it, but as Gyomei said, one should not stop living in times of war.
So, relax I did.
I ended up daydreaming too many times on each page. My mind would drift off to the man I longed to embrace and caress, the one that was diligently working to improve the skills of the trainees only steps away from me. Oh, how I missed those warm days when I would practice in front of him, only to have him stand by me and touch me in innocent ways that would heat up my body in seconds.
With all the daydreaming I was doing, I decided to write my last report to focus my energy somewhere more useful before having a discussion with each of my recruits. I was able to do so since some had yet to go to sleep; those who did seemed to be sleeping peacefully from what I could see. Those who were still fully awake were talking together, trying to get their minds out of the dark thoughts that were plaguing them. They all welcomed me to their late-afternoon card games accompanied by deep conversations. It was relaxing somehow, even if we talked a little about what happened during our mission.
It all came to an end after a while when Kiyo slid open the door to the recruits’ dormitory and hurried to my side. Turning around to look at her with a confused expression on my face, she brought a hand to my ear, hiding her mouth as she whispered, “Rengoku is in his chambers, he is retiring for the night,” She stepped back, smiling happily. My face flushed rapidly, how did she know I was waiting for him to be alone to join him? Uzui was the obvious answer. Had he told the three girls to be on the lookout and to warn me as soon as he retired? Perhaps… If it was indeed the case, I could only be grateful.
I nodded, thanking her before excusing myself to the ones that had yet to fall asleep. Among them, Daisuke. He grinned broadly, “Have fun, Captain!” I threw him a dirty look that hopefully quenched his audacity, but it did nothing to help. The swordsman’s smile only widened before giving me a thumbs up. I shook my head with a scoff and a small smile before leaving.
Once I stepped outside the dormitory and made my way downstairs, I realized how quiet the estate was. It was one of those rare nights when we could hear the cicadas louder than anyone else around the place. Most of the lights were off, people had had their meal earlier than usual to go to sleep before the sun had even time to set. They were probably exhausted from training hard, and sleep must have hit them the moment their head hit the pillow, which was understandable from how intense the work they were doing was.
As I made my way around the estate, I was careful not to make a sound with my steps. I had left my getas down the stairs and had opted to walk about without them, only in my socks; it was safer if I did not want to awaken the sleeping beasts in the mansion. Some doors were open, which brought in fresh air inside, something very welcome after a long hot day. It was refreshing. Furthering my steps around, I noticed a light was still lit in Giyuu’s room. In all discretion, I went inside and blew it off. I had to hold back a chuckle when I saw he had the three most recent recruits in his room, poor thing, I thought. The demon girl that was also there was respectfully sleeping in her futon, the three others were all over one another. Only Giyuu was left far away, perhaps he knew how wild their sleep got and chose a safer spot.
I had to pause in my trek when the floor creaked under my steps. A moment passed before I could leave the room safely once I made sure they were all still asleep. The next stop was Rengoku’s room. As I approached his room, I hesitated for a moment to call it our room in my head, it did feel nice to call something ours. Huffing to myself, I looked ahead and saw the flickering of the light inside; it was a relief to see he was not asleep, it meant I could catch up with him.
Choosing not to knock, I stepped inside. To my surprise, he was not there. His haori was laying on the ground, but he was nowhere to be found. The worst scenario came to mind as I considered the idea that he had been taken; with heavier steps, I looked around only to see him sitting outside on the veranda. A sigh of relief left my lips; seeing him after so long made my heart soar and left me frozen on the spot for what felt like ages until I found the strength to step closer to him. Calling his name softly I had hoped he would turn around, but he was left unmoving.
It was surprising to be able to catch him off guard, but I jumped on the opportunity and made my way to him. I stepped down the small step separating the veranda and the grass to stand in front of Rengoku’s sleeping form. His arms were crossed, his usual determined frown had left his face, leaving him relaxed and soft-looking. Oh, I had missed him so much.
His eyepatch was on his lap, and by his side were some paper, a pen and ink. His dominant hand was covered in the latter, it was adorable to see and even funny, but I was not here to mock. I did not glance at what he had been writing, instead I pushed back the hair that was covering his face, leaning in and kissed his forehead, then his brow where the scar was crossing from a bit higher on his forehead down to his cheekbone. I felt him stir a bit in his sleep, his head moving on the beam on which it was resting as a frown drew itself on his face. Smiling, I leaned back and started humming a song I had sung to him many times, whether it had been in times of boredom or when he could not fall asleep. My goal was to wake him up subtly, calmly and without startling him.
That did not work out as I had thought.
Without even opening his eyes, Rengoku reached out for me. I stepped back in time to avoid his grip, then whispered his name hurriedly. This time, he woke up quickly and let his arm fall to his side when he realized it was me; his expression turned into one of surprise then into a look of sadness. Quickly, his eyes teared up, I rushed to his form and wrapped my arms strongly around him. “You are back already,” He breathed joyfully, his hand threading through my hair as he pulled me closer. “I am back,” I nodded, gripping his back tighter only to have him wince lightly.
I let go rapidly and tried to pull away to look at him, but he did not let go, “Give me more time, please, I need to hold you—come let’s sit!” Without ever letting go of me, he sat down then had me rest both of my knees on either side of him while he sat crossed-legged and wrapped his arms around my form. I held him just as tight, my arms around his head instead as I held him against my chest while my cheek was against his head. The angle was bad for my neck, but I did not care one bit. I could feel my heart thumping in my chest more strongly than it had ever been and warmth was spreading all through my body.
“Would it be alright if I did not let you go until the morning?” He mumbled against my chest. His words were inarticulate from how he was pressing himself against me. “I would really like that, but first I said I wanted to worship you… Right?” I whispered softly, kissing the side of his head before trying to cradle his beautiful face in my hands. He kept his face against it, not moving, his hands gripping the back of my kimono a bit tighter. “There was a reason it took me so long to reply to your letters, my love,” He was serious, but his tone was laced with sadness and uncertainty. A nervous laugh escaped his lips, then slowly, he pulled away, his face still looking down. “You’ve mentioned many times liking my eyes, and the way I looked at you and… I’m not sure you will feel the same now.”
As he looked up, he slowly opened his eyes, revealing a bright fiery orb on the left and a ghost-like colored one on the right. He was unsure, his eyes were deeply looking into mine for any sort of sign that I was going to leave or hated it. Instead, I pressed a deep kiss on his lips and grinned, “Why would I not like it? A wise man once told me that scars were battle medals-“ He chuckled, interrupting me, “Do you realize you had told that to me, first? You had said it made us unique,” He smiled beautifully, his stress slowly leaving. My eyes widened; he had remembered that? If I said that, why can I not heed my own words when it regards my own scars? I thought briefly, but then looked back at Kyojuro bashfully, “I was not wrong, but the wise handsomeman I am talking about also said…” I trailed off, my hands cradling his face as I kissed his cheek, then his cheek bone, then his eye-lid, the Pillar chuckled timidly at that but let me do as I wished.
“…that scars were beautiful and mesmerizing, like the stars adorning the night sky. And just like the night sky, I wish to look at you until I see a glimpse of the sun rising, or perhaps until one of us falls asleep. I wish to bask in the serenity you bring and never let my gaze strand away from how beautiful you are,” because I love you, I held back from saying so, but it grazed the tip of my tongue. Our eyes never left one another’s, and even as I stopped talking, he did not speak. He looked at me in a mix of awe, adoration and perhaps a part of him still hesitated and needed to be convinced. I could feel my cheeks heating up from how intense his gaze was but loved every second of his attention. It pushed me to talk with more boldness.
Leaning over, my lips hovered over his, what am I doing? Where does all this confidence come from? Were some of the many questions crowding my mind; I was glad my hands were on his cheeks, it stopped them from shaking. The thoughts of uncertainty in my head were not mirrored by actions as I breathed against his lips, “If I remember correctly, that same man had written in his letters that he would like to worship me respectfully.” I held back a moment, brushing my nose against his before planting a delicate kiss on his lips. He tried to return it, but I pulled away quickly, chuckling, “I would love to do as I promised, and worship you instead,” My tone was so low, I was not sure he could hear me, but from how his body tensed I assumed he did.
I let my hands slide down to his shoulders, my eyes never leaving his in case he felt like he did not want to continue. Slowly, my hands slipped inside his kimono and on his bare shoulders before lazily pulling the sleeves down as my hands slithered down his arms. “My love, I cannot express how much I wish for your hands on my body right now,” He started and grabbed my hands delicately, bringing them to his lips before placing a kiss on it, “But I wish to know you are good too, and if you’d allow me, I would like to strip you of your beautiful kimono and kiss-“ I had darted my gaze back to his exposed skin when the word ‘strip’ left his mouth.
He stopped soon after and lifted my chin for me to look at him, “Are you still not hearing my words? Do you not understand that my adoration will not stop the more unique you get, my love?” I replied with a weak ‘I understand’ but he was not convinced at all, “Look at me,” he said sternly. I smiled when he said so, there was nothing I wanted more in the world than to look at him, but I still felt like the gash on my back was not the most beautiful. But then again, I was sure that with time I could get over it, and that his sweet words could help me get that confidence faster.
“I am looking,” I said in a low tone. Looking was a good word, but gawking would have been more adequate. The more I looked at him, the more I was getting used to that slight change on his face, and I was liking it more and more. I had not intended to make him feel self-conscious by ogling, but I felt like I had done just that when he smiled timidly, “You are indeed, and so am I,” He chuckled as he leaned in and captured my lips tenderly. I was grateful he did not break the kiss fast, instead he brought his hands to my jaw and tried to bring me closer to deepen the kiss. It felt so right and so good, I mirrored his hunger with a bit too much passion and made him fall backwards.
I apologized so fast it made Rengoku laugh loudly as he let his head hit the ground, “It’s alright, I love the enthusiasm,” His eyes traveled from my face down to my body, then to my hands that were gripping his shoulders tight, “I would suggest you kiss me again to help the pain away, I am sure it would help,” Looking down at him in surprise, I felt my cheeks heat up again, but leaned over with a stupid smile to then kiss his shoulder instead of him. “There?” I asked playfully. “Or there, perhaps?” I asked again, this time kissing the junction of his neck and shoulder. “My love, you are playing a dangerous game, I would like to kiss your pretty lips,” He said with a reddening face, his hands traveling to my waist where he held me.
I left a trail of kisses from the side of his throat to his jaw to finally kiss him passionately on the lips where he grinned into the kiss, returning it just as happily. “Can I suggest something? For the two of us to do?” He asked, his eyes burning into mine with intensity. My body temperature suddenly rose, I looked at him with flaming cheeks and looked at his still bare chest from when I had slid the kimono off him. “Yes, but I cannot promise I can stay silent-“ He covered my mouth quickly as he sat up, his face burning bright while an embarrassed smile painted his lips, “That’s not—I am so flattered, dear, I truly crave your touch, but what I had in mind was slightly different, if not very,” He chuckled timidly.
With eyes wide, I pried his hand away from my mouth and stood up, “That is embarrassing, do not think of me as wanton-“ Holding my sleeve as he stood up, Rengoku kissed me softly, “Then I will take the blame, I have no shame in saying I want you.” As if in a rush, he let go of me and stepped inside, his hand held out to me as he said, “Stay there, I have a great idea, bear with me my love, simply,” He moved his arm up and down, gesturing at my form, “Stay right there—no, actually, come sit on the futon, yes, yes the futon!”
He was suddenly hectic. A very different mood from seconds ago when I thought we were about to finally be together in more ways than one. I humored him and knelt on the futon, my hands on my knees as I looked at him, pink scars covering almost all his back. I resisted the urge to stand up and kiss all of them, as hard as it was. The lion-like man was careful when taking something from the cabinet, his sleeves hanging on each side of him for he still hadn’t dressed back. “As a child, when Senjuro would get hurt, I would have him draw the shape of his wound on paper, then draw around it, or with it, to make something fun. It would always make him smile,” Kyojuro told me, his eyes drifting to nostalgia as he did so. I wanted to know more about his brother, and his family in general, but I hardly believe now was the time to ask more about it. He had something in mind, and I was curious to know what it was.
“If you are not convinced you are gorgeous, even with scars, then let’s make it a real work of art!” His words were accompanied by his placing of a painting palette on the ground. A glass filled with dirty water and a few brushes were put on the ground too with just as much care. He then looked at me determined, but his gaze was searching mine for any sort of unease, just like before when he had revealed his eye. This time, I was hesitant, “You are suggesting I paint my-“ “I am suggesting to paint your back, your scar, with something so beautiful you will see it the way I do! And if you would like it, you can do mine too,”
Looking at him for a moment, I considered. My eyes trailed to the paint, then the tools around it to finally look back at Rengoku. He was already tying his hair back to get it out of the way. Seeing how thrilled he seemed by the idea, I thought it would not hurt to try; it was also an excuse to have his hands on my body, which rendered the idea even more appealing. Those weeks apart had made me crave his touch so much I was desperate for it.
“I will do yours first, if you do not mind. It will give me time to get used to the idea,” I smiled while mentioning him to turn around. A broad smile displayed itself on his face when his cheeks flushed pink, “Thank you for indulging me, let me-“ leaning over, he held my face between his hands gently and kissed me tenderly once again. The love dripping from his action made my heart beat faster, I kissed him with the same fervor, perhaps too much as my tongue tried to pry open his mouth. He pulled back laughing shyly; his thumb brushed over my lips while his expression was one that confused me. He seemed very concerned and happy at the same time. He was even about to say something but held back. Seconds after, he said, “I missed you so dearly, please, don’t be scarce with your touch.”
A breathless laugh escaped my lips while I nodded, “The thought never crossed my mind, now turn around,” I chuckled. Rengoku seemed insistent on looking at me and resisted when I placed my hands on his shoulders to turn him around. I laughed at that, for I struggled greatly seeing how unmoving he was. “Kyo, can you please turn around,” “Then I can’t see you!” He complained playfully. Pointing at the full-length mirror in the corner of the room, the one that was turned to face the wall, I said, “Then we move there, would that be better?”
After his approval, we moved to the front of the mirror after turning it around to face us. The man sat with his back straight, his hands resting on his knees as he looked at me thanks to the mirror. I had not realized he was doing so until I was done with mixing some paints to have some dark brown and had brought the paintbrush to his back. When I did, I looked over his shoulder and could see him smiling broadly, to which I said, “Is there something on your mind?”
“The same thing has been on my mind for the past four weeks and I am more than glad that my thoughts have manifested themselves today,” He winked flirtatiously. Feeling my cheeks flush, I told him to lean a bit forward all while pushing his head gently. He rested his elbows on the ground, his chin in his hands. Before starting the painting, I could not stop myself from kissing his shoulders. It earned me a giggle and a soft-spoken “Don’t be shy, your lips are welcome all over my body,” I followed his words and peppered kisses all over his scarred back, making sure to kiss each individual one. When I was done, I could see his face had reddened greatly and he was still looking at me in the mirror, his eyes glimmering with joy.
When I brushed the first stroke of paint on his back, he tensed suddenly but not without making a high-pitch sound of surprise. “I am sorry, is it cold?” I asked worriedly, pausing with my free hand on his shoulder. Turning his head slightly, he pressed a kiss on my fingers and shook his head, “I am a bit ticklish; those brushes feel like feathers on the skin, I was caught off guard,” He explained before positioning himself like he was before. Humming, I resumed my painting. From the beautiful pattern on his back, I could see a big tree that started more on the left of his back before growing up to his shoulders, the branches reaching across his shoulder blades and one over his left shoulder.
A few minutes passed; I was focused on the art that was happening in front of me. It was also irritating me faintly that I could not touch him properly, I wanted to hug him and fall asleep in his arms and as enjoyable and intimate this was, I wanted more. I needed to think of something, that’s why I asked out loud, surprisingly at the same time as the Pillar, “Should we start thinking of a name for our four-legged friend?” was what I said, Rengoku however was on a different note, “I am sorry for not talking, you are just so beautiful-“ He apologized for speaking at the same time as I did, so did I. Both of us laughed nervously. With a short gesture, he told me to go on, but I had heard his words, so I teased.
“Uzui told me my letters lifted your spirits,” I started, his face flashing in surprise then embarrassment, “Tell me, which part made you the gladdest?” Don’t start, I told myself. You cannot be this touch-starved to start something in the midst of an innocent painting, I scolded myself internally. I had finished the trunk of the tree, and was now mixing the colours to create a pink shade. Was I confident in my cherry tree leaves making? Not entirely. But I was going to give it my all. “Thinking of retiring with you!” He said a bit louder than he had spoken the entire time we were together. A disappointed “Oh,” escaped my lips without even going through the thinking phase. I quickly looked up to tell him it was nice, to add I was not disappointed, but when I saw his look in the mirror it had darkened. It was not as joyful as usual.
It was not sad either, but the smirk on his lips definitely helped me gauge the emotion portrayed on his face. “My love, are you disappointed?” His hand slowly reached behind to touch my knee. His fingers deftly helped the hem of my kimono out of the way to finally touch my bare skin. I had since stopped painting and was now staring right at him in the mirror. A huge innocent grin made its way to Kyojuro’s lips, “Would you rather I had said the idea of feeling your body against mine once again was what fueled me to get up, in more than one way, in the morning?” The brush was thrown on the wooden plank where the paint was as I leaned my head over his shoulder and slithered my arm to the opposite shoulder to cover his mouth.
I rested my chin against his collarbone and breathed out nervously, I felt him smile behind my hand. “Why are you being naughty now of all times?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Prying my hand from his mouth, the beautiful man pressed a kiss in the palm of my hand, “Because you have started it, I am only now joining in on the fun,” He then gave me an innocent look, the one he would usually have, as if he was not trying to rile me up, “I will stop if you ask me,” “I am not—I have not said that.” With the tip of his index and thumb, Rengoku lifted my chin and kissed me softly. The angle was not the best for such actions, but I melted into it without hesitation. “Very well, I am glad to hear it. Do not stop painting my love, I am impatient to see the final product!” He grinned enthusiastically.
Getting myself together, I leaned back and realized I had paint over some parts of my Kimono, “I dirtied my kimono because of that, I will blame it on you,” I said playfully, earning myself a loud laugh from the Fire Pillar as he added, in that same tone, one that is almost carefree, “Do not worry, we will dirty it even more,” He threw me a soft smile mixed with something I rarely saw on his face, arrogance? Pride? He added, “That is… if you’ll allow me, of course,” Bringing the back of my hand to my forehead, while still holding the brush between my fingers, I wiped the non-existent sweat, then resumed painting.
“My dear, if you keep that up, you might regret it,” I trailed off, my eyes staring right at his for a mere instant before focusing on his back once again. The pink was beautiful adorning the top half of his skin, up to his shoulders and even a bit on his bicep. I thought to myself it did not look as bad as it could have looked, after all I had no experience in skin-painting, nor painting at all. I was no artist, only a fighter. Broadening his smile, he moved his elbow to rest it on his knee. He was still sitting tailor-style which made him look so good when he rested his cheek on his knuckles. The teasing expression adorning his features drew me in, even more after he spoke, “Regret? You are more than welcome to use me, if that is what you so desire. Your gaze has been more open than your words, for the former has the honesty the latter lacks,” I was about to tell him off when he said, “My apology, I meant that I can read the lust in your eyes, even if your words are reprimanding me for being… wanton, as you would describe it,”
While I smiled to myself upon hearing his words, I could still feel the warmth in my cheeks. The embarrassment was strong, but I still teased back, “You are the first thought in my cloudy mind when I wake up,” I quoted his words from the letters as I put the paintbrush in the water, the look on his face was such a sight I could not help but lean over his shoulder and kiss his jaw. “My heart and body long for you and your…” Looking at him in the reflection, I delicately let my hand wander down his stomach. My heart was speeding up and I could see his eyes looking down at my hands, curious, wondering if I would dare do it. “...Touch” I then undid the knot of his kimono to feel him more, to have one of us act the words shared through those letters when his hand stopped me at such a speed I gasped silently.
A tight smile was on his lips. I loved seeing him like that, not fully out of control but trying hard to resist the inevitable; to resist the pull that was happening between us. Our long separation had only strengthened that need for intimacy, that need to be close, skin against skin, legs intertwined, breath mixing, and warmth shared under the blanket. “I have yet to paint your beautiful body, my love, will you be good and behave until I am done?” He asked with such a sultry look I was tempted to tell him there was no need to paint me, but he wanted to do it. So, I smiled stupidly, “You say behave as if I was a wild animal,” I chuckled, gesturing for him to turn around to look at the final product. He slowly did, while I focused my gaze on the reflection behind him.
He did not even glance at his back, instead he leaned over and kissed my neck softly while whispering, “Your wild, adventurous hands that needed to be caught to be stopped from going on a rampage, tell me otherwise,” I leaned my head the opposite side of his head to give him better access before even assimilating his words. His hair was tickling my throat as he trailed kisses higher on my skin, I gasped a laugh when his lips brushed over my ear then breathed, “Can you blame me? You have an addictive personality, and an even more addictive touch.” His chuckle was right next to my ear, I wanted to hear more of him. With his breath in addition, I felt a shiver run down my spine and looked at the door in case someone came in.
“And I am obsessed with your voice, but I have not made you moan yet, have I?” He huffed another laugh before kissing my cheek and leaning back. I was aware my gaze was flicking between his gorgeous eyes then his hands, many times. Before looking over his shoulder and into the mirror, Kyojuro looked me up and down, a proud smile on his beautiful lips, “Flustered, gaze askance and scared of being caught… Exactly how I had imagined it.” This effectively brought my eyes back to his in the mirror, this time with a pleasantly surprised smile, “Those letters of yours, they made me realize you had a way with words,” I started. He smiled, his beautiful eyes not leaving mine yet, “It made me wonder two things.”
Humming, he told me to go on all while gesturing for me to sit in front of him to start painting. My cheeks warmed up again at the thought of undressing in front of him. My fingers danced on the knot around my stomach while I spoke, “The first one being, if you have such a way with words, how come I have never received a poem?” I said playfully. It made Rengoku panic, his paintbrush falling from his hands as he looked at me with wide eyes. I quickly spoke before he could, “I am teasing. I was only wondering one thing, I would never be entitled enough to ask for a poem,” I said off-handedly.
This made his face burn bright red as he looked at me intently, “I have written many poems!” He said loudly, smiling. That smile turned more timid when he said, “About the one that is always on my mind, the one that makes my heart sing louder than cicadas in the summer. The one that keeps surprising me, no matter the amount of time spent together; I keep getting caught off guard by the words escaping from that someone’s mouth…” He said gently, his tone slowly turning deeper, more sultry. I felt like a comedian on stage, everything was pointing at me, I had all his attention, and I could not run. When he uttered the last word, his face was over my shoulder and he was smiling genuinely at me, “That someone is you, if you had not understood.”
“I had, I… am flattered. Maybe I will write you a song-“ Feeling like a great idea had struck me, I turned to look at him quickly, bumping our noses together. Both of us laughed as he put a bit of distance between us, “I could put a tune to your words, I could sing them—perhaps write words of my own to have you properly flattered,” I chuckled. A sound of surprise caught in my throat when Rengoku kissed me passionately, stopping my sudden rant and calming my burst of enthusiasm. When our lips parted, he stared at me lovingly, “I love this idea, I love it very much.” I giggled nervously, feeling stupid for doing so but did not add anything else. After a moment passed, he turned my head towards the mirror and gestured at my kimono as he said, “Now, what were you wondering upon reading my letters?”
I scoffed, my fingers dancing on the knot of my kimono, “I would hate to ruin the sweet mood that has been set, maybe I shouldn’t-“ Kyojuro wrapped his arms around my waist and pried my hands away from the knot I was not undoing to do so himself, all while talking and looking at me in the mirror, “Do not play a prude when your hand was between my legs minutes ago, my love,” He said softly. The tone was not depicting the actual insinuation of his words, which made it even more attractive that it was just from being spoken by him. He kissed my cheek again, pulling the knot away from my form, “Go tell me, share your obscene thoughts with me! Who knows, I might just share them,” He winked.
I tensed when I felt his nails scratch the back of my neck slightly as he held the collar of my attire. He paused, hesitant but not talking yet. I gently pushed his hands away and took a deep breath; as I let it out, I dropped my kimono off my form and said, with a fleeting gaze, “I wondered if that well-spoken man would keep his manners in bed, if your way with words would remain if you felt good.” I kept my back straight, hoping that if I did so, I wouldn’t shy away from his gaze. My confidence was a lie; even if I kept my head high and I had changed the topic, I knew full well that a seed of insecurity was germinating in the corner of my mind.
My whole body stiffened when I felt the warmth of skin on my scar. I did not pull away, but even if I tried, hands were holding my waist. It made my escape impossible. “Did you know that not one tiger has the same stripes as the other? It is a way to identify them, but also shows how unique they are.” It was slightly helpful and funny, I did not move and listened to him as he traced his finger over the length of my scar, from the side of my hip to the middle of my back. Mumbling to himself, he said he would try again, and try he did. “Perfection is like beauty, everyone has their own criteria they wish to meet, for themselves or for others,” This time I could feel the brush on my skin and shivered, my hair rising on my arms and neck.
“Now, you cannot force anyone to meet the criteria you like or wish for, that would be hard, yes,” He paused, dipping the brush again, his eyes focused on my back, “What you can do, is look at yourself, and see what makes you unique, what defines you, what are your more prominent traits—you make all of those yours, you embrace the traits you like and work on those you don’t,” His gaze met mine in the reflection, with a sweet smile he kissed the back of my head and added, “And what you have to do, is trust your body, love your body, it has gotten you through so much that it deserves all the love and worth in the world. Give your beautiful self worth.” I could hear him smile, his face was behind mine as he leaned over my back to paint details.
“Because knowing you are worth it, you will understand that you are your own perfect, and that perfection is a state of mind.” There was a long pause as I took in his words, while I still felt exposed being uncovered on my top half; while it was something I had never done around him, I still felt comfortable. At least more comfortable than before. A question set on the tip of my tongue; I was hesitant to ask it. “I am sorry if I stepped over some boundaries, we can go back to your question-“ “Do you like it?” His eyes widened. He paused his strokes and looked over my shoulder, confusion adorning his oh so beautiful face. “The topic of before-“ “The scar, do you like it? I will not see it much; I can ignore it, but…” I trailed off, not knowing what I wanted to say more.
Suddenly, kisses were planted on my back, all over it, first on the side of my scar, then on my shoulder blades, to finally reach the top of my shoulders, “I absolutely do! What could be more attractive than knowing how strong you are? And willed, determined! You are so beautiful-“ He looked up, a big smile on his face. I had to hold back a laugh when I saw the green paint on his lips. He had kissed paint that had not dried yet but did not seem to care one bit. “You are my perfect,” He said softly, wiping the paint from his lips with a cute smile.
My throat tightened; emotions were getting the best of me at his kind words. Laughing nervously, I looked down and wrapped my kimono back around me loosely. A gentle tug on my hand made me look over my shoulder then fully turn to face Kyojuro. His face was hesitant at first, but he beamed at me then reached for both of my hands instead, his thumbs brushing over the back of them, “I am going to be selfish—will you bear with me?” Knots tied in my chest, it felt heavy suddenly, but I nodded, my joyous attitude dropping from his words. “I know we do not know the outcome of this final fight; I know that. I am an optimist, I believe in all of us, but anything can happen—that’s why, that’s why I-“ He took a deep breath, bringing my hands to his forehead as he sniffled. His voice cracked as he expressed himself; it broke my heart. Was he going to put an end to this dream-like partnership?
I never let go of his hands, instead I tightened them around his. There was nothing else I could do until he was done laying his heart bare. I was fighting hard the tears that were threatening to fall. What about our future plans? What about retiring? What about our dog? Was this all play pretend? Was I hopeful for nothing?
He brought my hands back to his lips and kissed the tip of my fingers,
“I know it’s selfish to lay it out like that, I know… But I love you, I love you so much. I want you to know it, and that is what is selfish about me. You told me once that I could be selfish, that selfishness was good sometimes,” He brought each of my hand on each of his cheeks, placing his on top to press them closer, “I need you by my side forever, I wish to hold you every night, to hear your voice when I wake up and when I go to sleep,” a kiss was placed on my palms, he then let go of my hands but I kept them there, holding him closer.
He leaned in, eyes teary with a stupid smile on his handsome face, “… to see you trip on the tatami, to have your hands in my hair and to eat the best food with you,” I laughed through my silent tears, a smile matching his adorning my lips, “To love you is all I want,” He whispered before kissing me tenderly. The stress I had put on myself thinking he was going to leave me left through laughs in the kiss, our teeth clashing from time to time but happily so as I pushed him back on his futon. “I love you too, you are my perfect, my safe haven, my home,” I punctuated everything by a kiss on his lips, his arms wrapped around my waist to keep me close.
“I will not let you go, no matter what happens next,” To emphasize my words, I wrapped my arms around his neck, it made him laugh as he rolled us around so that we were both on our side on the ground, looking at one another, “Neither will I, I will find you no matter what,” he pressed a soft kiss on my forehead, then stared at me lovingly.
I could feel my eyelids drooping, I was exhausted from today and crying did not help, “Kyo… I truly love you… But I also think you have put paint all over your futon,” I mumbled tiredly. He chuckled with the same tiredness and brought me closer to his chest, humming, “That is too bad, I am not moving,”
“Is it a problem for our future selves?” I asked playfully.
“Absolutely, it’s their mess, after all,” He mumbled, his lips against my hair.
With my final functional thought, I asked, “If you heard my words about selfishness… Would it mean you were not asleep?” I remembered mentioning it when brushing his hair and even though saying so was out of place, relief flooded over me when I had seen he had fallen asleep. If he had heard me, it meant he had not actually been sleeping.
“I don’t regret faking it, I was able to feel your sweet kiss, a shame I couldn’t return it,” He said tiredly, his words mumbled and inarticulate. It was enough for me to understand and lean in to press a lazy kiss on his lips, “It is never too late,” a breathless laugh escaped his lips as he returned it slowly, sleepily.
We then slowly fell asleep to one another’s reassuring heartbeats, basking in the serenity of today and not thinking of any tomorrows.

Yeah ok, you asked for it.
An Unexpected Invitation
Part 2
He had never really, truly known silence. Even when he was alone, there is always that buzzing sound inside his head. Sometimes if he listened closely enough it would sound like the sharpest blade slicing through silk and flesh. Or if not that, then the softest exhale of a last dying breath; or the whispering sound of snow falling on snow.
There’s a Japanese word for that, shinshin.
One of the few things that he actually liked about this god forsaken country: the beauty of his own language. Though he so very rarely used it in all the years that he had spent in China, he was pleased that it was not lost to him. Unlike everything else that tied him to his motherland.
Not that China as a country is any better than Japan, but at least it wasn’t filled with ghosts that haunted him. And they were many; all the ghosts inside his head. Tomoe was just one of them. He wasn’t bothered by it. She’d smile at him inside his head and everything else would just fade away. It was just her and her smile and he was content.
Yukishiro Enishi had not expected any kind of silence inside his cell, which unfortunately faced the alleyway that the police used to move captured criminals, either in and out of the prison. There was always someone unruly, heavily protesting the indignation of being bound and dragged inside the building. If it wasn’t that it was pitiful wailing, asking for forgiveness, begging for another chance. Worst were the angry screams of denial, the insistence of their innocence. It annoyed him endlessly.
Reading Oneesan’s diary diminished the vulgar noises hounding him. With her diary clutched in his hand, it was just him and her words. He would gently turn the pages, trace the ink on paper and as he read it, he hear his sister’s voice. It calmed him down. Most of the time, at least. There had been a night of pure rage and the agony; finding out how his sister had hidden her true heart from him. He’d slammed his fist against the walls, banged his head until he thought it would crack open and all of his craziness will just spill out from his split head.
Why, neesan? Why couldn’t you have trusted me enough to let me know what you were planning?
But it had only been the briefest of moments where he felt betrayed. In the end, even with Tomoe’s diary, nothing could waver his conviction of his sister’s faultlessness in everything that had happened to them. Neesan had taken care of him ever since he could remember, his first memories had been of her touch, her eyes, her voice singing lullabies well into the night. She had tried to make everything better and she had the courage to marry the man that had slain her own love. But she had ultimately been too soft, too trusting. She had a woman’s kind and gentle heart and had allowed Battousai’s despicable lies to change her resolve for vengeance.
Would it have made any difference if he had known what neesan had really felt?
He doubted it. The mere presence of Battousai in their life invited danger and death. And he remembered how it made him feel so deeply ashamed that the hitokiri was living with his sister, tainting her with the blood of his victims.
There was no reason for him to feel deceived by his beloved neesan. Battousai would have, one way or another, caused her death. It doesn’t matter how. Testament to this was the fact that even now, despite having distorted himself into the foolishness of a rurouni – a shameful farce of trying to atone for his sins – the woman he had chosen, the Kamiya girl that Enishi had taken and failed to kill, had been subjected to several abductions and all sorts of regrettable torture. From almost choking to death from Udō Jin-e’s curse to nearly drowning when she’d been thrown out of The Rengoku, Battousa had turned her into a target. One that he had not been able to properly protect.
How many times had Battousai failed that woman? More times that Enishi could care count.
Battosai was cursed. All the lives that he touches, he befouls. And eventually, he does not even have to wield his joke of a sword, in the end, they will all turn into nothing but torn silk and spilled blood against pristine white snow.
----------------
It didn’t take long for the Mibu Wolf to come and visit him. They had taken him to a room barely lighted by the lone overhead lantern, madly swinging and throwing dark shadows around him. He would have snorted at this childish game that Saitō Hajime, now known as Fujita Gorō, had chosen to play. Did he think that he was someone that could be so easily intimidated? Did he need any reminder of what he was capable of, weaponless except for a child’s toy, on the trin when he had allowed to arrest him? Or was this some sort of insult that he was supposed to angrily respond to?
Enishi felt no emotion to be honest, even when Saitō started laying down all the documents that he had been able to confiscate from wherever he’d gotten them. It wasn’t until a signed confession from the useless Heishin that Enishi felt just a twinge of irritation. He should have bashed that bastard’s skull.
Wordlessly, he picked the paper, idly glancing at it before tossing it back, silently fluttering to the floor.
The wolf bared his teeth.
Did the government ordered the ever-reliable Fujita-san to ask him the names of all the ten battleships that he had? Because Shishio’s Rengoku was the smallest of those ships. Shishio Makoto was all fight and salivating insanity but he hardly had any money to sustain his quest for war. Enishi had practically given that battleship for free and it was purely out of curiosity. He had gotten into so much trouble with the Chinese organization that helped him obtain those ships. He had to pay it out of his own pocket but it was all worth it.
He had wanted to see just how far Shishio could get in a fight with Battousai. Not so much as it turned out. He couldn’t even properly bomb Tokyo as he had wanted to. It was all so very disappointing but not in the least bit surprising. These Hitokiri’s were mere berserkers, nothing refined in the way they planned their attacks. To defeat their enemy was all, kill, kill, kill and it bored him.
He kept his silence as Saitō explained how he had taken him this long to piece together everything that he needed to ensure that Yukishiro Enishi will be tried as a spy, a traitor to the Meiji Government and for that, they both know that the punishment is death.
Blah blah blah blah
Did the ex-captain of the Shinsengumi (first squad – he made you remember that at least, like it was supposed to mean something to anyone) now a special agent for the Meiji Government's Department of Internal Affairs, really think that he would be bothered by his impending death? Or a lifetime of imprisonment? Anything that they throw at him would only be a shadow of what he had gone through in Shanghai. The years of suffering from hunger and humiliation, disease and violence, training on his own to perfect his own fighting style?
Enishi was prepared to die and meet his sister once again.
Unless, and here, the cunning wolf flicked his still lit cigarette – a foul thing – over Enishi’s shoulder, the heat and ashes leaving a trail against his cheeks. He would kill him for that, Enishi thought, unblinkingly.
And then, the wolf leaned forward to tempt the tiger.
-----------------
Freshly released from prison, all of his papers proving the pardon so generously afforded to him by a government desperate to stop another war shoved inside the pocket of his jacket, Enishi calmly shook any traces of gunpowder residue from his hands. His now emptied warehouse (damn, the government for confiscating everything) was lighted with flames that will spread quickly enough. It would be a massive fire and Fujita-san would probably disapprove, but he did not, quite frankly, give a fuck.
He kept his head low, unhurriedly weaving in and out the crowd, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. His height has some disadvantages, true but he was still weaponless and without his watō slung against his shoulder, he looked like the usual foreigner traipsing around Tokyo, not a care in the world.
The Mibu Wolf will only give him his sword back if he could get the Kamiya-girl to agree. And something tells Enishi that this was really more to piss off Battousai than anything else. What a tiring game these two old fools were playing, but he will play along. He had nothing else to do anyway. And besides, his watō was at stake. He could probably just steal it from, escape Japan and just live out his life somewhere far from this madness but then, where’s the fun in that?
He had allowed himself a leisurely walk towards the dojo, the constant sound of summer surrounding him: tiny voices of children playing inside their yard, underneath the shaded trees; parents calling out for a refreshing sip of cold water; that buzzing sound inside his head.
He always had sensitive hearing, a secret weapon that he had incorporated to his Watōjutsu. It was a source of pride, how this swordskill is known only to him and how it could have finally defeated Battousai had that stupid Heishin ruined his plan. Kami, if the wolf had not killed him yet, he would be looking for him soon enough.
------------------
Enishi stood by the familiar entryway of the dojo, tilted his head and confirmed the only presence inside. He pushed the wooden gate and wordlessly walked inside, heading straight to the engawa, where for the first time in his entire life, he hears nothing but silence as he stared down at the Kamiya girl sprawled on the floor, napping it seemed.
Her dark hair was fanned around her face, not in a flattering way, to be honest. But the contrast of her hair and her skin and the peach-colored kimono she was wearing, riding a little high on her legs, exposing her knees, made her look almost --- precious.
No, no. He shook his head. Not precious, but so exposed and vulnerable. He glanced around him. No bokken in sight. And defenseless. Again, Battousai had left her like this? This supposed ruruoni must be addle-brained and as inept as Heishin. They both deserve to die.
But yes, how odd. Enishi thought, not even the sound of their breathing. Because he was certain that they were both breathing. He could feel the steady beating of his heart and as he squinted at her prone form, the rise and fall of her chest was quite obvious in her partially opened kimono.
The sight offered him a brief distraction and he had been just the tiniest bit surprised when she suddenly woke up and threw a tea cup at him.
Maybe not so vulnerable and defenseless then.
-------------------
She was feisty. He hadn’t known that she had it in her to fight like that. Clumsily and rather slow, but it could be that she was wearing a kimono, restricting her movement. He could not find fault in her fighting stance and with the way she swung her bokken, with outmost conviction, Enishi was certain she could lay waste to Heishin's pathetic bodyguards. Her skills were better than theirs at least and this was probably the highest compliment he was forced to give to a girl.
Her battle cry was also impressive. It brought back his hearing at least.
Now he could hear every whistling sound the bokken made as it sliced through the air; her panting breath, the way she muttered curses at him.
She was so very, very angry and he had done absolutely nothing to her but ask her if was already married. A rather important detail that he needed confirmation on if was really going to follow through with the wolf's sadistic plan.
Enishi needed her to calm down otherwise, he’d be forced to defend himself and then he would end up straddling, arms pinned above her – because that was the only way to get her to stop trying to hit him. Being motherless and growing up with his sister, Enishi thought he knew how to handle women or at least girls. But this Kamiya-girl, with her angry breathing and needless cursing was quite a surprise. The women he had dealt with in China were really almost similar to the women in Japan: docile and soft spoken, but apparently not this woman.
Was this the ruruoni’s choice? Or the Battousai? Enishi wondered if her violent temper triggered something in his worthless brother-in-law, because he could not understand how exactly did anyone take her so easily when she was like this?!
Another swing from her bokken and that was just an inch away from his nose.
The triumphant gleam in her eyes told him that she was aware of this and to prevent any further violence, Enishi finally stepped forward, which she must have taken as gesture of surrender, because she met him head on, bokken raised high on her head.
He grabbed it easily, tossing it away and wondering if he would have to break every damn bokken inside this training hall just to make her stop. Curiously, he asked her, without his formulated explanation because, really, he had forgotten everything that he had been planning to tell her, if she had wanted to go to Shanghai with him – well, it effectively shut her up, her whole body suddenly immobilized by surprise.
He let two seconds pass before he provoked her yet again with, “Is that a yes, Kamiya-san?”
Her eyes blazed and then, completely out of nowhere and totally unprepared for it, her fist connected with his nose.
It knocked off his eyeglasses and now ---- now he is pissed.

So I guess, tbc?!

kny prompt where y/n is shy af n one day rengoku caught feels for her 👉👈
omg im so sorry this took so long... i got really caught up in watching rengoku compilations on youtube and trying to find all his moments in the manga so N E WAY (hope you enjoy)
pairing: rengoku x shy!reader
you had lived in the butterfly estate your whole life. you had grown up with shinobu after kanae had found you half dead on one of her missions and kanao thought of you as her own sibling. needless to say, you were very familiar with the demonslayers and pillars frequenting the place you called home. it didnt make it easier to talk to them though; you considered yourself a rather shy person (which is why you and kanao seemed to unintentionally get along so well). but being part of the medical staff allowed you to be yourself. you never had to be outgoing or loud or extroverted, you just had to take care of your patients. although you had tried your best to keep a low profile, some things (or people) just couldn’t be avoided
-------------------
“--- you are dismissed.”
the pillars bowed and shuffled out of the meeting room immediately dissolving into their own separate conversations.
“oh, rengoku-san.” shinobu chirped, “you’re headed to my estate no?”
rengoku grinned. “yup! a week of mandatory rest. and i have to get my arm healed, it’s been feeling kind of weird.”
“thats because it looks broken.”giyuu chimed. rengoku squinted at the man and the proceeded to flop his arm around.
“it does?”
muichiro gagged. “please, please, go get your arm fixed.”
 “yeah. lets go.”
-------------------
you took a seat in one of the gardens residing in the butterfly estate. pulling out the small bento aoi had so generously prepared for you earlier that morning you relished the taste of the rice balls, tossing a few stray grains to the koi fish in the pond in front of you.
“wow! they really like rice!.” a voice boomed from behind you. you flinched and stood up, slowly turning your head to meet the person, only to come face to face with a recovering flame pillar. oh crap did he want to sit? had you unintentionally taken his seat? lucky for you he seemed to read the panic on your face.
the flame pillar laughed, “dont worry you havent taken my spot, i hardly come out to the gardens anyway.”
blushing you sat back down, burying your face in the huge rice ball, praying silently that you hadn’t completely embarrassed yourself in front of one of the strongest demon slayers ever. what you didnt expect was for one of the strongest demons slayers ever to take a seat next you.
“is it okay if i sit here?” he whisper-shouted. without meeting his glowing eyes you silently nodded your head hoping that he wouldn’t notice the very very very prominent blush on your face.
-------------------
if rengoku was being completely honest, he was a bit glad that his arm was broken. he was disappointed that it means one less person was going to be out there fighting demons, but it also meant that he was able to see more of you.
the flame pillar wanted to call it love at first sight, but you that required two people to look at each other, and, well, you hadn’t the slightest idea that he was actually looking at you.
after that fateful first encounter, if you could even call it an encounter, he started to notice you more and more around the estate, whether you were tending to other patients (oh how he wanted so badly for you to come and check up on him) or joining kanao for lunch or tending to the gardens or doing anything for that matter. and he definitely was jealous of the fact that you seemed to be more interested in the plants than himself.
-------------------
there was an issue. a very big issue that came in the form of rengoku kyojuro. the problem was that you were, in fact, very much in love with him. ever since he had joined you for lunch that day you couldn’t stop seeing him; he was everywhere. the universe was actively working against you and it didn’t help that your love for him was budding rather quickly. not only that, but you actually enjoyed having him around you, whether it be for lunch or taking strolls around the estate, just being with him was heart-racing.
you had no idea he felt the same way.
rengoku smiled to himself as he watched you trim the leaves of your roses. you two weren’t exactly speaking, but it wasn’t a bad thing. he had never really known comfortable silence until he met you. his whole life he had felt the need to fill the silence to constantly make someone laugh or talk. but when he was with you, he didn’t need to make you laugh or talk. (although he was a firm believer that you had the voice of an absolute angel), he just wanted to be with you.
-------------------
“(l/n)-san!”
turning to see the owner of the voice you immediately felt the butterflies in your stomach.
“good morning rengoku-san.” you said with a soft smile. ‘how adorable’ he thought to himself. “i heard from one of the doctors that your arm is healing quite nicely.”
if you had looked away a second later you would’ve missed the slight frown that crossed his face when you said that.
“yes., i should be ready for missions in about a week.” he said rather solemnly. you tilted your head to the side, “is something the matter rengoku-san?”
the flame pillar nodded. “ its just that if i’m going on missions now, i won’t be able to see you as much anymore.”
your stomach dropped. and then you laughed. “rengoku-san don’t be silly. ill still be here when you get back.”
he only frowned harder. didn’t you understand what he was saying? should he be more straightforward? sanemi-san had told him about kabedon-ing but he was pretty sure if he did that you would’ve exploded.
“rengoku - san?”
screw it.
he took two large steps forward and brought your face into his hands.
“y/n-san.”
“y-yes.”
at this point your noses were barely brushing and you could feel his soft breath on his lips.
“im in love with you.”
you squeaked.
“-- with me? are you sure?”
the flame pillar laughed loudly and then gave you a reassuring look.
“i’m very sure that i’m in love with you.”
you smiled, placing your hands around his neck.
“that’s good, because i’m very sure that i’m in love with you too.”
“REALLY?” his eyes widened and he brought you closer to his chest. “I WAS SO WORRIED!.” he touched your forehead with his and for the first time you saw him blush.
“could you say it again please.”
“say what?”
“don’t tease!”
you laughed, giving him your biggest smile.
“i love you kyojuro.”
bonus:
kyojuro shot up, gasping for breath, and unintentionally waking you up in the process.
“ we didnt kiss!!” he exclaimed, staring at you intently. you turned red, “did you want too?”
now it was his turn to blush. he cupped your cheek in one hand and let the other fall on the small of your back... and then you were kissing. and oh, he knew what he was doing and oh his lips were so soft. tilting your jaw towards his he deepened the kiss pressing you closer to himself. and then you pushed him away gasping for air; your face an embarrassingly tinged red. kyojuro smirked, pulling you back onto his lap.
“one more…?”

Yesterday’s Gone (Oneshot)
Pairing: Kyojuro Rengoku x Hanako Fukushima [OC]
Words: 1,843
Warnings: angst, spoilers for the Mugen Train movie
Notes: Hello! This is my first oneshot I’m posting on here -- it’s based on lyrics from Yesterday’s Gone by Straight Line Stitch. Hanako is my Demon Slayer OC, and she means so much to me. This oneshot is also part of an upcoming book of oneshots about Hanako I have coming out called Beyond the Wisteria Trees. I hope you all enjoy! -

You lifted me up and fueled my dreams, now yesterday’s gone
The sign of Hanako’s beautiful, obsidian-colored crow flying to her usually meant information for another mission or a letter from a peer -- sometimes even Oyakata himself. Even though Arisu always closely followed Hanako, there were times when the crow would need to deliver and receive messages for the Flower Pillar. Though, the message that Arisu brought her on this particular blue-skied morning was nothing but devastating.
Hanako was at her mansion -- a large and beautiful home surrounded by several wisteria trees, with a variety of different flowers adorning the soft grass -- doing a bit of gardening. Kyojuro had told her before leaving to board Mugen Train that he would return here after the mission was finished. So, as long as there were no other missions or tasks to complete, Hanako was going to do just that -- wait for her love to return home, safe and sound in her arms.
A distant caw broke Hanako out of her thoughts about Kyojuro. She looked to the sky, seeing that Arisu was flying overhead, swooping down to greet her. A scroll of parchment was hanging from her beak, and Hanako knew this was one of two things -- it was time for another mission, or simply just a letter from a friend. She sighed, hoping it was the latter.
Arisu landed in front of where Hanako was kneeling on the ground over some sakura flowers. She looked at her crow, seeing that she had a sad look etched upon her little face. After years of being with her, Hanako could easily read her crow’s emotions. Instantly, Hanako felt a twinge of anxiety hit her gut.
Taking the note from Arisu, she unrolled it with nimble fingers. The message laid upon the parchment were the words that Hanako always feared she’d read one day.
Rengoku Kyojuro, the Flame Pillar, has died.
He was killed in battle against Upper Moon Three.
May his soul find peace in the afterlife.
Hanako had to read the note over several times to grasp exactly what she was reading. Kyojuro... dead? There was no way. Kyojuro was smart, he was strong -- but Upper Moon Three must have been stronger.
A sob escaped Hanako, the note dropping to the ground as she covered her face with shaking hands. Arisu, seeing her human friend in anguish, let out a soft coo, looking to the ground.
“It can’t be true,” Hanako sniffled out to no one in particular. “He can’t be gone.”
When I breathe I whisper your name in memory, ‘cause yesterday’s gone
She heard Arisu let out another coo before flapping her wings, setting off towards the sky. Hanako understood -- Arisu had orders and other things to do than sit there and watch her cry. Though, she wished more than ever that there was someone to console her. How would the other Pillars react? Would they feel the same? Or would they only think about it in passing, knowing that this was something they all had signed up for?
Tengen, Mitsuri and Shinobu were always so kind to Kyojuro -- she would see it when they shared meals together at the Corps Mansion. Even the normally quiet Giyu would crack a smile at his optimism every now and then. Hell, everyone loved Kyojuro. There was no way you couldn’t be drawn to someone that resembled sunshine.
Hanako guessed that she should’ve been thinking that way, too. That was their job as Demon Slayers -- protect those who can’t protect themselves, and die for the cause if necessary. She couldn’t remember exactly how many Demon Slayers (and Pillars in particular) had lost their lives since she joined the Corps.
Though, for whatever stupid reason she had created in her mind, Hanako never thought that Kyojuro would be one of those to join the number of people killed by demons. The thought only made her cry harder, the tears now coming in a never-ending stream. Tiny tears hit the soil below her, her once beautiful garden becoming melancholy.
With a sniffle and a hand wiping tears away, Hanako looked at the flowers surrounding her -- there were flame azaleas planted in large quantities around her mansion. Hanako kept a large stock of them growing because Kyojuro had told her that it was the flower he liked the best. She fondly remembered the memory of the first spring when she had grown them at her mansion.
It had been a few months after she was officially made a Pillar. Kyojuro was watching her plant flowers, helping out whenever she grew frustrated with something -- like he always did.
“Hanako, what are these?” Kyojuro asked, pointing to a bunch of flaming orange-yellow flowers. “And why do you have so many of them?”
She smiled at him, seeing that the ones he was pointing to were her favorites. “Those are flame azaleas. I like them because they remind me of you.”
He cracked a grin at her words, making Hanako’s heart flutter in happiness. “How so?”
“Well,” she moved over to where a flower had fallen from the stem, picking it up. “It reminds me…” Hanako padded over to where he was sitting. She held the flower up to the side of his face, tucking the short stem that held the petals behind his ear. “...of your hair.”
Kyojuro gently plucked the flower free, bringing it in front of his face and closely examining it. With his free hand, he grabbed a tuft of his bright red-and-yellow hair, bringing it next to the flower and comparing the two colors. Hanako giggled at the close proximity of the flower to Kyojuro’s face.
“And they’re bright and beautiful. So, I guess… they just make me think of you,” Hanako finished, voice soft and laced with shyness.
After a few seconds, he pulled the flower away, one his hugely adorable smiles painting his face. A barely noticeable blush had popped up onto his face, as well. “I think this one is my favorite, too.”
The memory of Kyojuro’s wide, toothy grin made more tears surface. After that day, he would always comment on the flame azaleas around her mansion when he visited. Hanako even brought him a bouquet of them once, making that same cute blush spread across his face as he accepted them.
But I know I can move on from that cold December rain
Another memory surfaced in Hanako’s mind as she finally got up, brushing away the dirt on her knees. Her hand immediately rested on her sword’s hilt, making her think back to tsuguko training.
Being his tsuguko, Kyojuro was the one who taught Hanako how to properly fight with her nichirin sword. If she was being honest, Hanako survived the Final Selection out of pure luck -- the trainer she had before Kyojuro did jackshit in training her how to defend herself. Though, she only had to kill two measly demons during her seven days on the mountain. Thank the gods.
Her tsuguko training with Kyojuro was progressing smoothly up until one day -- she was growing frustrated due to the fact that she couldn’t master a technique that he wanted her to get down.
“I can’t do this!” Hanako exclaimed, agitated beyond belief. The other breathing techniques that Kyojuro had taught her were easy enough, but for whatever reason, this particular one was a pain in the ass. Usually, she wouldn’t be so whiny about not getting a technique down perfectly the first time, but she wanted to impress Kyojuro.
He stood in front of Hanako with crossed arms, watching his tsuguko grow more and more frustrated. “What do you not understand? Let’s work through it together.”
Hanako looked up at him, and nearly choked, wishing she hadn’t -- he had shed his flame-decorated haori, leaving him in his Demon Slayer uniform. His strong, muscular arms could be seen through the greyish-black fabric. His bright hair was completely pulled back, leaving his sharp jawline open to Hanako’s wandering eyes.
Damn it. He’s too pretty for me to concentrate.
“I just don’t know why I can’t get this form right,” she explained, running a hand through her hair and looking away from him. I can’t be distracted by you, Kyojuro. “All of the other ones you’ve been teaching me have been simple enough.”
There was a pregnant silence. Hanako could hear the laughter of Gyomei and Sanemi in the background, the soft breeze blowing through wind chimes, and the rustle of the wisteria trees as she stared at the ground. Kyojuro had suggested he train her at the Demon Slayer Corp mansion, wanting her to become familiar with their way of life.
After what felt like an eternity -- but was probably only a few seconds -- Kyojuro let out a deep and hearty laugh. “But that’s the thing, Hanako…”
He began to move behind her, making Hanako wonder exactly what the hell he was doing. Though, when Kyojuro moved behind her, showing her the correct way to hold the nichirin sword, she thanked the gods and Buddha that she was in this moment.
His strong arms were holding hers, placing her hands in the correct position. She felt his chest at her back, his steady breaths tickling the top of her head. Kyojuro was wrapped around her in a hug -- except, they were training, not sharing a fond touch.
“You don’t have to get it right on the first try,” he finally finished, showing her the proper way to execute the technique she was trying to master.
“You’ll do great either way. You’ve already impressed me thus far. Just keep at it.”
Hanako knew, in this moment, that she truly loved Kyojuro. He was not just her savior and teacher anymore, no; he was her everything.
Regret filled Hanako at the memory, realizing that she had never properly expressed her feelings for him. Sure, they had discussed having a “talk” after he came back from his mission, but did he really know what she had meant?
Did Kyojuro know that Hanako loved him?
She was positive that everyone else already knew; with the way she looked at him like he was the best, most precious thing this world had to offer, she had been teased relentlessly by Shinobu and Tengen (making Hanako hastily hush them, saying “He might hear you!”).
Hanako glared at the ground, clenching her fists. Easy for you to say, Tengen. You have three wives.
Though, it made Hanako realize something; she could either live her life in regret, knowing that Kyojuro may have never felt the same way…
Or, she could continue to live out his legacy, and hunt down and kill Upper Moon Three. Upon thinking for a few minutes, she nodded to herself in conclusion. It’s what he would’ve wanted.
Wiping the remaining tears from her face, Hanako composed herself. She looked up to the azure sky.
I’m going to avenge you, my love. Even if it’s the last thing I’ll ever do.
Straight from my heart I wish you could see how I’ve changed

Smexy Teachers • Kny teacher au smuts
🍱Sanemi Shinazugawa🍱
•Your fucked literally, and both ways. He might be harsh but damn he know what he doin'
•He has too many kinks to list tbh-
I do see him have a light bondage kink as a teacher though.
•So imagine that your fail math, annnnd he asks you to stay after so he can help you with what your struggling with
•He'll probably make you bend over on the desk and put a vibrator in you. So for every question you get wrong he turns it on high max just to hear a cluster of moans come out of you. But if you keep on getting the answers wrong constantly he'll turn on the vibrator on high max until you cum. So by then your dazed, the more dazed you are the more questions you get wrong. The more cummimg and enjoyment for him.
•10/10 probably cockwarm you, while your doing a worksheet he'll be whispering sweet nothings in your ear and biting on your neck. Make your walls clench, though no cummings or begging. He'll have a punishment prepared for you if you do.
💎Uzui Tengen💎
•In this teacher au let's just say he doesn't have 3 wives...but he's hella experienced in bed
•Whatever your kinks are, his are the same. It doesn't matter to him whatever brings you the most pleasure. But he definitely try new things out especially on his studennnnt
•This man will do 2 things with you.
1.He'd cockwarm you, but he puts paint on his hands and starts to feel your body. Feeling your curves, constantly groping your chest.
•He'd probably put paint on his hand and slap your ass so it'll leave a handprint and probably say something like, "Now everyone will know what's mine." With a light chuckle.
•2. He's again, gonna cockwarm you but he'd be painting on your body. You'd be whimpering and squirming underneath him since the paint is cold. And he loves how your face contorts into pleasure when you whimper. Pure heaven to him, then he can't control himself to he starts to thrust in and outta you.
🔥Rengoku Kyoujurou🔥
(If you were a teacher)
•This man is the DEFINITION of passionate.
If he's gonna be the sun in the anime then he's gonna be the sun here too.
•Praise and body worship kink all the way. He wants you to feel special and on top of the world.
•Just like Uzui whatever your kinks are their Kyoujurou's now too. Though he would ask you if your alright with every little thing he does. He doesn't want to screw this up and hurt you in some way. He'd never forgive himself.
•I could see him cockwarming you while he's giving you love marks. SLIGHT LIGHT bondage like-
He'll just hold both of your wrists together in his hand above your head.
🐍Obanai Iguro🐍
•I love this snake man…yall don't even know…
•This man is a trip in the teacher au, constant. T e a s i n g. Like, your first orgasm will be from his foreplay only.
•He'd 100% be Dom, no arguing. You thought Sanemi had a light bondage kink?
So does this fucker, he'd tie your whole body up to where you can barely move, AND use a gag on you.
•Definitely use some kind of toy on you while your all tied up. Obanai would just be grading papers while you sit there in complete pleasure and torture.
•If he didn't feel like tying you up that day then next best thing is fingering you. But he has his own rules. No Cumming without his permission, and if you do, you'll get a hard smack on the ass.
•And since he's the protective cute fuck he is. Your neck is COVERED I mean LITTERED WITH LOVE MARKS. Especially your chest, sides, and thighs. He likes to claim what's his.
🌊Giyuu Tomioka🌊
•Last but not least for the guys is the CEO of sex-
literally.
•He loves when you bend over and for every question that's wrong you get a slap on the ass. It's his favorite lil game to play with you. Then by teaching you a real lesson and ramming into the back of you while trying to answer the questions.
•If your just goofing off when y'all supposed to be running the track. Get prepared to be asked to stay after and run the laps you were suppose to run. While your running he just can't help but look at your chest bouncing up and down. Especially your ass, he likes how it bounces then it makes your thighs jiggle. He just can't get enough.
•After your done running you hit the showers. While you're in there Giyuu couldn't help but get a bulge in his pants from looking at you run. So he decided he'd take matters into his own hands.
He bust opened the girls locker room and went to go find which shower you were in.
•Once he pulled the curtains and saw you showering you basically scream stuttered his name. He pinned you to the wall explain what happened and said since you caused it, your gonna have to fix it. He told you to get on all 4 and you did as he said.
(CLIFFHANNNGERRRR~~)
🦋Shinobu Kocho🦋
•This women vibrates big lesbo energy-
I know you can feel it too.
•This sadistic women, you either blackmailed her or she blackmailed you. Either way it ended up with her on top of you.
•She was doing 3 things to pleasure you at once. She was giving you love marks on your neck and chest. One of her hands was caressing your sides. Then her other hand is tracing circle on your womanhood.
💕Mitsuri Kanroji💕
•You thought I wouldn't include our waifu mitsuri? Smh-
In this au I decided to make her a school councillor.
•To be honest it'd be trickery getting smutty with her. But I mean you got your ways so. You were really stressed out during class so you took a pass and went to the bathroom. Or so they thought-
•You wanted to relieve some stress so you snuck into the janitors closet. Badddd choice you were in the middle of your fingers pleasing yourself and you let a lil too loud of a moan. Mitsuri heard this and got out her keys to the janitors room. You heard her put in the keys to the lock while you frantically try to pull up your panties. Click.

Hello! Can you write hcs for Sanemi with a pillar s/o?( Sfw / Nsfw) please? Have a good day!
*inhales* did I already tell you that I love my wind boi, Sanemi?
Shinazugawa Sanemi x Pillar! s/o (NSFW WARNING AHEAD)
(SFW)
Training together with his s/o is a must do, or the massacres towards his own students will never end.
"Sanemi, enough! They are already unconscious!!"
"Tch, you are safe for now, brats." He threw his wooden sword onto the ground. His students will be shivered from head to toe, and cried behind her back.
Sometimes, she and Sanemi demonstrated their fighting styles. Both of them never let their guard down or make it easy. The BAM and SCHWING sounds was heard and echoed thorough the dojo. Nobody will stop them until evening
Again, the students shivered in fear
They are lucky his s/o is on their side
He didn't like being affectionate in public. Hell to the no. The tsundere wall is so thick around his head
When nobody's around, he likes to sleep on her shoulder. Or rubbing his head against her like a cat.
But don't say "Aww Sanemi, why don't you being like this everyday?"
JUST
DON'T
Or when no one looking, he stole one or two kiss from her lips
This person easily get jealous. He will drag his s/o out of scene when she talked too long to a male Pillars without saying anything
"Hahaha!! That's how it is, Rengoku-san. And then- Wait- Sanemi, I haven't finish talking to Rengoku-san. Sanemiii!!!!"
Both of them like to eat their lunch together without anyone around. He just didn't want anyone around when he could wipe her mouth because she is a mess eater while telling her, "Dumbass."
Ohagi, ohagi, ohagi. He likes ohagi from her cooking more than the snack booths.
She is "messenger" between Genya and Sanemi
On pair mission, both of them weren't really made a good team, because he's the one who do all the task, slash the demons and save villagers, leaving her nothing to do
What the fuck, what is the purpose of me being a Pillar.
But of course, if it's easy for him alone to handle. She helped him if things gotten difficult
There is reason behind that
If she's injured, Sanemi will be a total-absolute mad lad. He couldn't hold the broken feeling when he saw her drenched in her own blood on the bed.
He screamed to medic staffs, and Kakushi, even when the staffs tried to treat his wounds
"JUST FUCKING TREAT HER!"
It was useless when they told him if other staffs were treating her injuries. The medic staffs tried to drive him away but he interfered with his and her medication until Himejima came and snapped his neck
After the staffs treat his injury (in unconscious state), he woke up, murmured why he couldn't protect her and wouldn't calm until he heard good news about her
On day off, she went to forest with Sanemi, while singing his favourite song. Sanemi hummed as reply
Or trained. He often taught her new technique on fist-fighting. She's a quick learner after all
He likes it when she sat on his lap while trimming his nails, and lecturing his increased scars
He made twirl motion on both of her cheek with his fingers, and this tiny s/o will get super mad
She often slept on top of his bare chest. Listened to the sound of his heartbeat is like a lullaby for nap. The sound of her sleeping make him at ease
Her giggles was like angelic choir to him
Her: Hehehehe
Him: I'm this fucking close to marry her
Sanemi often threw profanities towards her, and it's only two, "Dumbass and ugly."
Once, he gave her new yukata. He just shoved it into her and said, "Use it."
"What? Use?"
"I mean, wear them."
She nodded in confusement, but still do what he ordered. It's a white yukata, the fabric was smooth and it's really comfortable
"What do you think, Sanemi?" She twirled around. "Do I look good?"
"No, you're still ugly."
He probably said that but later, Tengen told her how he murmured and couldn't shut up about how gorgeous, elegant and beautiful she is in that yukata, and probably will buy more
(NSFW)
Her fellow Pillars will never put their eyes of her, because the hickies on her neck before meeting
He tend to undressed herself up at foreplay but he himself will stay on his kimono but with open-chest
He likes to rope her wrist on his katana's scabbard and put it above her headwhile having sex
Moan loader and he will give her praising and faster thrust
Likes to bite her nape while cumming
Angry sex happened when his jealous meter is on maximum. He never let her rest until 4 or 5 plays. But always do the cuddling in the end
Sometimes, doing quick sex in open-forest. Sanemi didn't care if they did it against a tree, he just told her to grab on him
Blowjob is a rare thing since he often losing control if his length was in her mouth and started to move his hips unconsciously, ignoring the gag-reflex. He didn't want this to happen too often and hurt her throat
Just be honest to him, if he didn't make her good because he pushed down the cervix, tell him.
After sex, he'll ask if she felt good and will be happy if she nodded or showing sign of feeling great.
Naked cuddling under the blanket is the best thing
