Radish Knights - Launches In October!
Radish Knights, my feature length tabletop roleplaying tactics game about tiny vegetable knights defending their kingdoms, is launching on October 2nd 2024!
You pick a vegetable, choose a knightly order, and engage in tiny chess-board-sized combats against bandits, kudzu dragons, fallen orders, and an empire of corn.
The game is entirely human made, with design and writing by me and art by Jonas Wittmann (who did the excellent illustrations in my chicken-thieving fantasy game Mendicant.)
I'm an extremely small indie designer, so I rely a lot on word of mouth in order to crowdfund my games. I would love it if you spread the word about this one, and if you personally want to be notified when it launches, hit the Notify Me button on the other side of the link.
There's no specific goodies for being first, but you do get first pick of the limited backer levels where you can force me to add new vegetables, knightly orders, weapons, or monsters to the game.

ELLUM AVATAR
The strongest superboss in my game Chronicles Meteorfall. The only enemy to be at Lv9999, HE is an extremely strong foe, almost impossible to defeat. He begins every battle using the unbelievably powerful almighty art "God's Wrath" which does 1.3 MILLION damage at base. Thankfully it can be reduced using the endgame seraph charm and high enough RES, but without heavy preparation God's Wrath will guarantee a full party wipe before the fight can actually begin.
ELLUM AVATAR has a staggering 4 press turns, but rarely makes use of all of them. In turn 1, which he always goes first in due to always having advantage, ELLUM AVATAR will only use God's Wrath followed by waiting for his other 3 actions. On Turn 2 ELLUM AVATAR will use an incredibly powerful fire art, "Flames of Gehenna", before waiting for another 3 actions. Every turn after that ELLUM AVATAR will replace one of HIS wait actions with another incredibly powerful art of the fire, water, thunder, or force elements. These attacks hit 9 times and deal absurd damage, a damage tier even higher than insane. (moderate<major<massive<severe<unreal<colossal<insane<absurd)
After ELLUM AVATAR goes through adding each of these elemental attacks he will then proceed to use God's Wrath TWICE before repeating the cycle, each time the cycle repeats using God's Wrath an additional time until he no longer waits when using God's Wrath, eventually using God's Wrath FOUR TIMES IN A ROW. Here is ELLUM AVATAR's attack pattern laid out for easy viewing.
Turn 1: God's Wrath, Wait, Wait, Wait
Turn 2: Fires of Gehenna, Wait, Wait, Wait
Turn 3: Fires of Gehenna, Elder Dias, Wait, Wait
Turn 4: Fires of Gehenna, Elder Dias, Thunder of God, Wait
Turn 5: Fires of Gehenna, Elder Dias, Thunder of God, Ten Plagues
Turn 6: God's Wrath, God's Wrath, Wait, Wait
Turns 7-11: Repeat turns 2-5
Turn 12: God's Wrath, God's Wrath, God's Wrath, Wait
Turns 13-17: Repeat turns 2-5
Turn 18: God's Wrath, God's Wrath, God's Wrath, God's Wrath
Turn 19+: Repeat cycle from turns 13-18.
As you can see here, you REALLY want to kill ELLUM AVATAR before he gets to even turn 6 and starts spamming God's Wrath multiple times per turn. But how can you possibly do that when his HP is 7.3 MILLION max? Not only that, but ELLUM AVATAR nulls EVERY element sans almighty, celestial, and the special elements (love, greed, hunger, etc) ELLUM AVATAR also counters any use of Kaiser Dragon or Obliterate with Armageddon, instantly ending the fight. And finally, most deadly of all, if all your party members fall, ELLUM AVATAR will use his strongest attack: CURSE OF EXTINCTION. What does this attack do? Well, IT DESTROYS THE UNIVERSE, DELETING YOUR SAVE FILE PERMANENTLY! So this fight has a massive risk element to it as well, since if you can't close the game fast enough when you lose, say goodbye to your save data!
The only feasable way to beat ELLUM AVATAR is first overlevel to Lv999 and then grind stat boosters to get enough RES to heavily resist all of ELLUM AVATAR's attacks (around 4500 RES, the max amount of RES that actually does something, reducing damage by a wopping 90%), enough STR or MAG to deal the maximum amount of damage consistently (max STR/MAG is 99,999), and enough HP to survive a single God's Wrath. (more than 130,000 HP) Once the battle starts stack as many press turn additions and damage multipliers as possible. And finally after you survive the opening God's Wrath, use the enemy art Smash Break to make ELLUM AVATAR weak to smash AND SPAM THE HECK OUT OF MULTI-HIT!
A nearly useless move early-game that only deals 2 hits of highly lackluster smash damage (only 40% of a regular hit), every 20 levels Multi-Hit gains one additional hit. On a regular game that isn't too big as even at the regular max level of Lv99 multi-hit would only hit 6 times. However, if you raise the level cap to Lv999, Multi-Hit hits 56 TIMES for a character at the true max of Lv999! Absolutely absurd! ELLUM AVATAR has 44,444 DEF so you will only be hitting for 10% damage, but that matters little when you're dealing 99,999 damage a hit 54 times per action. With this strategy the seemingly impossible ELLUM AVATAR can be defeated in only a single turn!
There might be other strategies, but I haven't figured any of them out yet. Please experiment once my game finally releases and find the strategy that works for you!
Chronicles Meteorfall will be released in December 2025.

Over War is a big love letter to classic console strategy rpgs.
It's also a tabletop roleplaying game, which meant some adjustments needed to be made during the design process.
A computer can juggle weird and complex calculations at a rate faster than a human GM, so you can make a computer do Fire Emblem's Hit Rate + Weapon triangle bonus + Support bonus – Enemy’s (Avoid + Terrain bonus + Support bonus) [%] pretty easily. But a human GM is going to leave if you try to inflict that on them.
So the first thing I did with Over War was decide that there would be no hit calculations. If you're going to be running around with a blob of 6+ characters per player, you do *not* need to also be worrying about accuracy and equipped weapon and armor class and whatnot.
Attacks in Over War just hit, and they just deal their damage to their target. Where things get complicated is in what type of damage they do and who they target.
Default targeting is just whoever is in front of the attacker. But archers can shoot into the back row. Mages can fireball everyone. And healers can (out of necessity) target their own unit. Better, broader types of targeting are more expensive, and there are even ways to change your enemy's targeting. With the right choices, you can turn their big blast-casting aoe archmage into a less impressive single-target poke.
In a game where everyone controls only one character, you might not want to design things this way. Over War's simple targeting and damage works because a player can have five of their characters knocked out and still limp away to heal---and because players can reshuffle their formation and change out the types of characters in their unit when they do.
This keeps players in control and lets them keep making decisions, even when they're in a bad spot.
You *can* still drop the Attacks Just Hit mechanic into a more traditional system, and there are osr titles that do, but this changes the central question of combat from "can I roll well?" to something else. Think about what you want that something to be, and pick something interesting.

Minister of State, Iraleth Mor, speaking on behalf of the Synod:
"By decree of the Synod and in accordance with the Sacral Expansion Mandate, the Achernar system is to be consecrated under the rite of Stellar Enshrinement. The celestial body known as Beht’Ukosis shall be marked as sacred territory and placed under direct ecclesiastical observation.
This designation is not merely scientific, but spiritual: the proto-sapient lifeform known as the Yastun shall henceforth be considered a Witnessed People — their development to be monitored, studied, and catalogued for signs of divine resonance or deviation.
An orbital sanctum shall be constructed: Observation Post 'Eye of Saint Virela' will maintain uninterrupted vigil. Its mission is sacramental as much as empirical."
[A pause. A soft voice — Sister Aethyra — breaks the stillness from the shadows behind the dais.]
"Do they pray?"
Iraleth Mor responds, without turning:
"They breathe. They burn. They build fires in the dark and name them holy. It is enough, for now."
[Council Seal confirmed. Unity allocation approved. Observation Post construction ordered.]
Addendum, appended by the Office of Imperial Scripture:
