You woke up to find Vash gone.

"He left?", you asked, still half asleep.

It didn't bother you much, knowing he was the type to leave without saying goodbye. Especially with Nai still looking for him.

I get why but its kinda rude. You think as you start packing up.

The suns were barely starting to rise when you started walking again, wanting to give Kevin a little more time to rest before having to carry you again.

At some point you saw a car pass by.

Is that the reporters? You squint at the car with something hooked up behind it. If I catch up to it I'll be able to tell what episode I'm in.

Hours passed and the suns were high in the sky.

Now riding on the Tomas, you were looking at the map and holding the reigns.

"So if I remember, the moons..", you mumble, looking back and forth between the map and the sky. "Shit."

You were lost.

"Mother fucking-!", you scream in your throat and tighten the hold on the reigns, wanting to throw something. "Great."

Then there's a sound of a car coming from the right.

"Hm?", you look over and see the car stop just a little ways away.

A small group of guys come out of the vehicle, running towards you but staying just a few feet away and point their guns at you.

"Give us everything you got!", one says, you're guessing the 'leader' of this small group.

Are they for real?

"I'm not going to ask again!", the guy says and racks the big gun.

It takes you a while but then you grin like a crazy person.

I finally get to release some pent up anger.

Getting off of Kevin, you walk forward and pull out the weapon you had custom made. The red scythe shines in the sunlight as you unfold the weapon by swinging it open.

"What'll it be boys? I can be your doctor or your torturer."

"Do you know who we are!? We're part of the Bad Lads gang!", one of the ones in the back of the group says.

All you do is let out a creepy laugh.

"Hehe~"

Vash looked out at the sand dunes before him.

He had left the angelic looking person in hopes that they wouldn't get tangled up in his terrible luck and have a safe rest of the journey.

I hope they're doing ok. He thought and looked to the sky.

There was a few vulture bugs flying around.

Before he could try to swat some away from pecking him, he heard footsteps in the sand and voices.

"Ok, so I know he's The Humanoid Typhoon but is he like..a real guy?", a feminine voice asks.

A sigh comes from the other person.

"How have you made it this far?", the voice of an older man.

As the two keep talking the blonde stays still and waits for them to take notice of him hanging upside down.

"Dead ahead.", the older man says, being the one to take notice of the hanged man in red.

"Looks like the work of the Bad Lads gang.", the man continues. "Yeesh, they did a real number on that poor slob."

When one of them walks up, the vulture bugs fly off of him and go onto the piece of metal to rest on instead.

Vash decides to have a bit of fun.

Moving his prosthetic arm, he does a peace sign before letting it drop down, surprising the person. They reach over and hold his hand, the movement making it detach from him.

"Need a hand?", he asks.

"AAAH!", the woman screams out in surprise and tosses the metal arm before running back to their companion.

The vulture bugs fly off and the blonde begins laughing like a mad man as he slowly turns to face the two strangers.

"What a creep.", the small woman in white says.

"You got that right.", the man in the brown suit jacket says and starts walking away. "Let's go."

"DON'T LEAVE ME HANGING FRIENDS!", Vash says in a panic, having been hung up for hours.

"We can't just leave him here.", the little lady says and goes to untie him.

"Appreciated.", Vash says in relief and lets the woman turn him as needed to get the ropes off.

You made it to Jeneora Rock.

After beating the shit out of the group of men, you asked for directions and they were smart enough to listen. Leaving them in a slightly bloody pile on the sand.

Before leaving Lowland, you had taken time to practice shooting and using the scythe. Also having learned how to fight when a few drunks didn't leave you alone or tried to touch you without your concent.

I didn't kill them but I made sure that they regretted it. You smirk and take a sip from your cup of water. I should write to Dr. Thomas.

You were in the "diner", more like a saloon, taking a much needed break from walking around and restocking some needed items.

Kevin was resting at a nearby Tomas stable.

I wonder when the first episode is gonna start. You think as you're going to drink from the cup again.

There's a sound of someone entering but you ignore it, taking a gulp of water.

"Yep! I knew we'd find her here."

And then you hear a familiar voice.

"Pffft-!", you have a spit take and quickly wipe your mouth before looking over at the three characters that just entered.

"Vash! You're here!", the brown haired woman named Rosa says and makes her way over to the man in red.

"Working on baby two Rosa?", the humanoid typhoon asks.

You stare in shock.

I'M IN FUCKING EPISODE ONE!?

And now I rest. At least until I have the energy to write more.

We know that Qrow helped train Ruby, but I firmly believe he also helped train Yang.

You can’t tell me Qrow ‘might as well just punch my opponent’ Branwen wasn’t involved in Yang’s childhood training too. He didn’t only train Ruby, no way.

And sure he probably let Tai take the lead once he knew Yang wanted to focus on a hand to hand style but he definitely still taught her a few underhand moves from his own childhood.

I also firmly believe he taught Yang how to use a sword so that if she ever needed to pick up a sword she’d win that fight. He made sure she was versatile the same way Yang helped Ruby with her hand to hand later on. If Yang ever needed to use a sword in a fight, Harbinger or any other sword, she is more than capable of kicking butt.

Yang just prefers hand to hand.

Okay, first of all, I love scythes, but why does no one in fiction use war scythes? I am a massive fan of RWBY, but she uses the war scythes mode in Crescent Rose exactly twice, and once is in the Ref trailer!

She literally never uses it, but it would enhance her range, allow her to attack things usually in the non bladed end of Crescent Rose, allow her to attack in more enclosed areas then normal, and overall is probably the second coolest thing Crescent Rose can do besides rotate the blade around on the shaft to attack something on the right if the blade was originally on the left, which she also uses like one time and that’s it. Ruby i know you love your weapon but please actually use all her functions, that’s literally why you built those functions in

The first time that I watched RWBY, I hadn't seen any of the trailers or heard about it beforehand. I found it on Netflix and watched the first two volumes as movies, and I had no idea that there was more to the show.

For the longest time, my view of RWBY was entirely of the first two volumes, and they're still probably my favorite. I enjoyed the setting and the characters (I didn't like Weiss as much because a lot of what I knew about her was from volume 1, where she's not the best person).

Ruby was my favorite alongside Penny because I related to her and how she was at the beginning. She had a hard time making friends and had interests that varied from what a girl at 15 years old would normally have (how much she liked weapons).

Even if that wasn't a part of Ruby’s character that stayed, I would have loved it if it did because the whole reason why I kept watching the show was Crescent Rose!

Look at her! She's beautiful!

I watched Soul Eater before RWBY, and I loved Maka using a scythe! Crescent Rose isn't just a scythe either! She's a bolt action sniper rifle! I love me a big gun!

The first scene of the show with Ruby destroying Junior's men is one of my favorites because it's so iconic!

Seeing Ruby use Crescent Rose for the first time was magical, but that doesn't compare to how I felt during Players and Pieces!

This moment with Red Like Roses Part II playing in the background is so good! It's my favorite RWBY song of all time.

The weapons in RWBY are amazing, and nothing beats Crescent Rose for me. She’s just absolutely incredible!

RWBY has officially taken over my brain

I wanted to practice creating reference sheets for character design. So I can up with a RWBY AU setting similar to Final Fantasy 16 with Team RWBY as Dominants. Ruby is the Dominant of Bahamut and I also wanted to design some of the weapons  that would be available if it was an actual game.

Geez I get it. I'm the skill issue. It's just hard from a story writing process to figure out to make Ruby a good enough fighter when her weapon seems so impactial. I'm not blaming you Howling. Maybe I need to study more scythe users.

To be honest, I wasn't thinking of anyone in particular when I reblogged that post about scythes. Maybe it's just me, but I think people are way too cynical and critical on fictional works. Rather than have a suspension of disbelief and enjoy the show, everything has to be one hundred percent realistic and accurate and easily relatable to the viewer.

Sure, relying on physics, Superman would cause a black hole when he rockets into orbit, Sonic the Hedgehog would break his legs running at light speed, and Ruby Rose would be ripped apart by those Beowolves in the Red Trailer.

But where's the fun in that? But who knows; maybe I'm just a whiny little punk on the internet who's crying over literally nothing.

...Sorry about that. Alright, on to my advice for you on making Ruby a "decent fighter". I think you're on the right track with your study on other scythe wielders.

From what I've seen, scythe wielders are best described as DEX, or dexterity, builds. In comparison, a greatsword is more of a STR, or strength, build weapon. What does this mean? Well, another way to describe it is DODGE VS BLOCK.

Characters like Thor, War, and Jaune Arc are STR build Blockers.

Characters like Spider-Man, Death, and, yes, Ruby Rose are DEX build Dodgers.

This isn't to say either can't use the tactics of others, but their bodies and developed styles lean more towards one than the other. But sometimes when they do try somebody else's style, well...
