Produced by Ruby-Spears Enterprises, Rubik, the Amazing Cube was a Saturday morning cartoon based on the popular puzzle created by Ernő Rubik.  The series featured a magic cube named Rubik who can fly through the air and has other special powers.

Rubik can only come to life when he puzzle pieces are solved. Once activated he aids the Rodriguez family in solving various mysterious and other adventures.  The show was one of the first American-made cartoons to feature a primarily Hispanic/Latin American roster of characters and voice actors.

Ron Palillo provided the voice for the titular Rubick.  The series debuted in September of 1983 and ran for a single seasons.  Syndicated reruns were packaged together with Ruby-Spears' PacMan series as 'The Pac-Man/Rubik, the Amazing Cube Hour.'

"I mean, those two aren't here." Ruby's gunmetal eyes flicked to the backseat, then back to Alan.

His eyes followed the movement.

"So it's not like you have to, like...'set a good example' or anything..."

Alan let his gaze stray from the road, lips slowly rising along with hers in silent confirmation. As he faved the road again, he pressed down on the gas pedal, causing it to roar as they gradually picked up speed.

The car threaded through a spot of rusted, overturned traffic, rocketing across the asphalt. Neither of the pair could contain the adrenaline high, breaking into laughter as they went off-road and took the nearest detour to prolong the moment.

When they were on a steady stretch of road, Ruby pulled down the window, leaned her head out, and hollered as loud as her lungs could handle. The wind wipped through her hair, threatening to rip her from the vehicle, only adding more fuel for the rush.

Infected could be spotted ambling towards them in the distance, so she soon after climbed back in as the car continued tearing down tbe road.

Back at the camp, Alan and Ruby both quickly stifled whatever giddiness they had left over from their earlier pursuit. They casually rounded the corner and found Sho and Leo resting by the fire.

"What the fuck took you so long?" Leo growled.

Ruby huffed. "We were obeying traffic laws and having boring conversation—like two old people should."

The younger men traded a look of confusion and disgust, causing Ruby and Alan to break out into grins at the obvious misunderstanding.

Obscure Animation Subject #145: Rubik, the Amazing Cube

Remember the Rubik's Cube? It is a colorful puzzle cute that is hard to solve. Well, it capitalize its success, an animated series was produced. That sounds interesting, right?

Well guess what? It's from 1983, when animation was reaching the end of its dark age but is still in it. I mean, sure there is The Smurfs and the Pac-Man animated series that were good, but the majority of cartoons are still pretty bad at the time, most of them would only exist to be a toy commercial and that's it. Even then we still have toy commercials like PAW Patrol being the most infamous and relevant example, but it's not as common nowadays. It wasn't until the mid 80s when animation started appealing to older audiences again and not just for kids. But otherwise, here we have one of the last, and one of the worst ones from the dark age, Rubik, the Amazing Cube!

Produced by Ruby-Spears Enterprises, the series ran for 12 episodes from September 17 to December 3, 1983 on ABC. The directors are John Kimball, the son of one of Disney's nine old men, Ward Kimball, Rudy Larriva, an animator for the Looney Tunes series under the Chuck Jones unit in the early 40s and later a director for the series in mid 60s as well as an animator for UPA, and Norman McCabe, another Looney Tunes animator and director, and later worked on the original My Little Pony animated series from 1986. It was also one of the first American animated series to feature a mainly Hispanic and Latino American roster of characters, along with voice actors.

The series is about Rubik, a magical alive Rubik's Cube who goes on adventures with a family with the last name of Rodriguez. This show is like a fever dream. It's so weird, so bad, so pointless, it's actually beautiful. The plots in this show are so nonsensical, with the writing being so lazy with no one in the show being even a tad interesting, they're so one note with repetitive dialogue. It makes me wonder if the writers don't care at all and just do it for a quick paycheck.

There is no effort in the making of the series, it was just made to sell Rubik Cubes and nothing else. Every episode is the same awful crap, and it's very repetitive and tedious, very similar to PAW Patrol! This show had a team of writers and directors, including the talented Norman McCabe, but it looks like none of them gave a damn about it. Thankfully we are long past the dark era, even if the current year right now isn't all that great either, we still have toy commercials like PAW Patrol, but it's still better than the dark era though!

Again, about the married multiverse but this time it came to me as hobbies they could share…

Ghostsoap have a little miniature collection, nothing big, but Simon likes carving little animals out of wood when he has nothing to do and Soap every once in a while takes his acrylics out and starts painting them, some more realistically, with fur, shadow and highlights and others (in particular two ferrets that were soooooo cute) he paints them to resemble them. One with really dark fur and a white face and one with brown fur, a lighter stomach and face to which he attacked some extra wood to recreate his mahawk (when he showed them to Simon the man hugged him tight and didn’t let him go for a few minutes for how happy he was about that dumb little project

RoachGaz have a small garden, but they use every square centimeter of it to plant some flowers. They have a bunch of plants, cactuses, aromatic plants, even some Aloe for Roach's skin for when it itches more than usual, they slend hours gardening every day and have shared a bunch of kisses between the flower pots (once a leaf stopped them from kissing and Gaz laughed so hard he had to sit down to not fall down and bring Roach with him

NikPrice have something weird going on. Price saw Nik's mom crochet ONCE and after that got a mild interest. It started with simply noticing how a lit of stuff in Nik's house was handmade, expecially things like hats, scarves and gloves. The in evolved into watching without being noticed a crochet square tutorial. Then he made a little scarf. And gifted it to Nik. He wasn't able to walk the morning after for how passionate that night was (Nik let him dominate by using it as a leash to control him) and now a lot of the kinky stuff in theri bedroom instead of being leather is crochet. This also means that every time Nik wears a scarf made by Price he gets a chub

LaswellSara. So, how do you impress a wife that is super strong, works for the CIA, is super smart and is a great investigator? Easy, rubies cube variants. Sara had started resolving a few in middle school, but then lost the passion. Then when she saw one in a store at a discout she bought it and tried to resolve it at home. Skip to several months later where a whole shelf and a half is full of rubik cubes, 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, 5×5, 6×6, mirror cubes with weird shapes, other shapes, coloured, variants… she and Laswell regularly try to beat each other's time record

Soap helps Ghost unlock his creativity, in return Ghost is almost like a muse. He gives things for Soap to paint, whether it's a portrait or little figurines. Also- may I suggest he carved a little goose and a little cat? For no particular reason at all, (⁠●⁠_⁠_⁠●⁠)

We literally both said Roach and Gaz have a garden and I think that just speaks to how perfect the thought is. Roach likes to grow herbs for Gaz's cooking, Gaz likes to grow aloe and other things to help Roach's burns.

Rubik's cube lesbians is a beautiful genre, I will gladly put Laswell and Sara in that category (also dispite Kate being autistic, Sara is more 'stereotypical autistic'. She's the one who introduced the idea, contrary to what others might think.)

Polish dubbing is sometimes surprising… Here's the evidence:

Sometimes there are creative translations (Kim Possible to "Kim Possible", which is an awesome play on words in this language), or Tinker Bell in the Polish version of "Cynka Dzwoneczek", but sometimes the translations are like Beetlejuice to "Żukosoczek" or "Sok z Żuka" ( Why do the cartoon and the movie have two different titles? I have no idea), ironically, in the crossover version with TTG they left the English version of the name (Or rather not the name… God knows what's going on, pun)

Bill Cipher translated into "Bill Cyferka" (Bill Number?) may already be a classic, and the GF title in Poland is… Wodogrzmoty Małe… Yes, they named the fucking waterfall

In TOH King is "King" (Well, ok translation), but Owlbert's name is… Sowbert… Yes, that name resembles "Sorbet", not counting that Raine has male pronouns in the Polish dubbing… Fun

Well, I won't say much about SU, except that they made Ruby a boy… Yeah

In "Loud House" the character Sam has male pronouns… Because it is obvious that she is a boy…

"Paw Patrol" made Zuma a girl and Everest a boy (Older seasons, but the voice stayed the same so lmao)

What's up guys, update just dropped! It sure is something to try and decipher, huh. We've got pages of new stuff to go over so let me learn you a thing about all the events and mishaps that happened on the server this week!

Some of the creatures on the server don't like sleeping in beds, and this egg is sleeping in a dumpster. Tonmy reverse adopts some new parents! Plume tries to solve some fun puzzles. Salem has an attempted revival using a grave-shaped shrine.

Salem is not the only deceased party this week. Solace loses their Apa. A small grave is built to remember.

Dot creates a small bubble of nature in the deep abyss, a respite of nature in the dark.

A sweet little pink and black house is constructed and decorated. It's very cure. And a little public pool is made in the clover fields.

A toy shop is added to the marketplace! It has plushies, Rubik's cubes, and even a build-a-bear workshop!

Saoirse has a good day. Angel also has a good day. Swamp also has a good day, because they attend a wedding reception.

Jay doesn't have a good day because a treasure map jinxes them. Spore finds a pepsi hat, and the slug cats from Rain World visit!

Ruby adds three new buildings to their coastal town, after not recording anything about being rescued from the Nether. The buildings even have interiors!

Panji has a cookout! Grill master extraordinaire time at the family barbecue. There's even a dance party!

Desnay reads a father's day book from Halo, a very emotional moment. It turns out the Nether Angel needs help, and Noname and their parents are perfect to assist. Also, food diversity olympics.

The Brain Baby, thusly named Bibi, learns how to have a nap. Something's not right with Lim. and Apple cubito finds some interesting places on the server!

Eva receives a lobster statue for their 2 month birthday! And Mae adds a park to the maze. Mapic builds a stand with banners and lanterns at the festival grounds.
