Given that SCOTUS has anointed the office of the presidency as a monarch role beyond all reproach (so that when 45 wins in Nov as they are intending), and we’ll never have another presidential election, I wish that Biden would assume lame duck status IMMEDIATELY, call their bluff, and start issuing executive orders like crazy now through January 2025.
He could do shit like defund the military and pour the funds into social services, repeal all nationwide laws/restrictions on abortion, make all healthcare including all reproductive services and gender affirming care accessible, instate UBI and Medicare for all, write a 100% tax rate on billionaires, push sweeping environmental protections, break up monopolistic megacorps, close federal prisons, expand and pack the court, cancel all student/personal/medical/non corporate debts, open our boarders, decriminalize all drugs, etc. etc. etc.
Maybe then the 6 block justice set of 45 worshippers would see what they’ve done.
Maybe then, if Biden immediately, decisively even did 10% of that, he might not lose the election.
Of course, he’d actually have to give a shit about any of those things in order to do this.
And that’s the whole fucking point, right? He won’t. And it’s why we’re here.
Democrats hold themselves to “the rules” only to the extent they’re spineless liberals who are in the same big money pockets as republicans. The key difference being, they let republicans be the ones to more overtly, proudly kill us all and act powerless to stopping them.
When our structures demand they are the ONLY ones who could stop them. I can’t take it anymore.

I just can't get over Cardan's letters to Jude...
This man really said:
"And yet my heart is buried with you in the strange soil of the mortal world, as it was drowned with you in the cold waters of the undersea.
It was yours before I could admit it, and yours it shall ever remain."
and I'm supposed to move on with my dull human life where no man will ever speak to me this way?? I will spend all of eternity not recovering from this.

There's something really fascinating about how Athena treats Diomedes so differently from how treats Penelope and Odysseus (even Telemachus but that's a lil different too)
Athena has basically known Diomedes since he was born (some even say that she had a say in naming him) because of Tydeus. I don't think it's far-fetched to say that in a way, she possibly "molded" him. And Diomedes is kind of known for being the "perfect warrior king". He's respectful of the gods and most of his comrades, an incredibly skilled soldier, and has already achieved so many things despite being one of the youngest kings in the war.
I sadly think that's why Athena treats him so differently than Odysseus, Penelope, and Telemachus.
She cares for him, but it's still "distant" in a way. Or almost in an "I molded you. You will react the way I would want you to therefore I will not be surprised."
When it seems like she's known her other favored mortals for less long, she didn't get to "mold" them. They surprise and
bring something "new" for her. She sees her little tricksters' scheme and plot and watches with intrigue but watching the perfect warrior is a "Yes, perfect form. That's what I'd do."
I mean even how her favored mortals pray to her tells you a lot about the relationships they have.
For example, in the Iliad, Odysseus doesn't need to really give as much reverence to her to "earn her favor" during book 10's Night Raid.
Odysseus rejoiced, and prayed to Pallas Athene: ‘Hear me, daughter of aegis-bearing Zeus, you who are with me in all my adventures, protecting me wherever I go. Show me your love, Athene, now, more than ever, and grant we return to the ships having won renown, with some brave act that will grieve the Trojans greatly.’
And Diomedes of the loud war-cry followed him in prayer: ‘Hear me also, Atrytone, daughter of Zeus. Be with me as you were with my father Tydeus in Thebes, when he went there as ambassador for the bronze-greaved Achaeans, camped there by the Asopus. A friendly offer was what he made them, but on his way back he was forced to take deadly reprisal for their ambush, and you fair goddess, readily stood by him. Stand by me now, and watch over me, and in return I will offer a broad-browed yearling heifer, unused to the yoke. I will tip her horns with gold and sacrifice her to you.’
(Book 10, A.S. Kline)
Diomedes brings up his dad and offers a young heifer (granted that could just be how Diomedes is with every immortal) while Odysseus doesn't and is basically like "Yo, help me out like you always do!". Odysseus is much more casual and personal with Athena. And with Penelope, Athena takes the form of one of her sisters to comfort her!
While Athena also most likely has known Telemachus since he was a baby, she's still closer to him than Diomedes.
Imagine that. You're basically molded by a goddess since birth, listen to her and other immortals dutifully, basically become her perfect warrior, and yet you can't seem to reach that familiarity with her. The same warmth she has for her other favored mortals.

GODDD the thing about Astrid is she was never meant to be a mother. She was meant to be the fun aunt who sneaks you cookies when your parents aren't looking, who spends hours teaching you how to make little charms to impress your friends at school, who takes you on adventures you're not supposed to tell mum and dad about, who makes you laugh till you cry telling stories about your parents when they were younger. She was never meant to be nurturing or parental, she was never meant to be doing this alone. And every time she does, every time she has a moment with Johanna that's at all parental in nature, all she can think about is how this wasn't supposed to happen. This wasn't meant to be her job. All she can think about is how Lydia and Phinium would've loved this, would've done so much better, how much more they deserved this than she did. Johanna deserves so much better. Astrid doesn't deserve her. She was never meant to be a mother.

If you don't think Mia recognized Dahlia in the courtroom, when did she? Because I think by 3-5 Mia knows the twins and Morgan are working together.
Did she bring down a scrap book to show Diego her family and when flipping around realize all at once and then hurry to distract him before he could see? Afraid he might think her dedication wavering for the sake of family? That he might think worse of her if her dedication didn't?
Was it in those long lonely months after Diego was gone and while Dahlia still wandered free? When she was scrolling though Dahlias photo journal online in an attempt at investigation but was really just hate scrolling? Did she see an innocuous photo of a Japanese garden taken from the gate from the spring when the light hit the flowers just right and remember standing there. Taking it in. Before the Shrine maiden, an old woman, hurried her along for the twins test of power.
Was it as they hauled Dahlia away. Did she hiss under her breath how she was just like her mother. Ruining everything. Did she curse the Feys. The people who abandoned her. Her and her sister. Doesn't she know, this is all Her fault?
And Mia knows it's not. Isn't the reason for someone else's choices. But maybe she remembers, from behind the prison glass. Two little girls packing up their bag with not very many things. One collapsing into the other. Sobbing. The other, rounding on her to scream; This is all your fault. This is all Your fault.
Or maybe it's even later. A backhanded comment from Morgan. I heard you caught that little murderer. Congratulations, Mystic Mia. You may make a fine attorney yet. (As you don't a chief, Mia hears clear as day.) What a disgraceful girl. She hears Morgan sneer as she hurries to leave. You must not grow up like them. Morgan sweetly reminds her young daughter. Listen to mother.
And when the door slides closed Mia remembers the other girls Morgan used to sweetly remind. How it ended for one of them.
