closed starter for : @amirofmanderlys context: during the lann's day celebrations, brianna bracken and minthara estermont decide to embark on a little game.
minthara had long ago lost her mask, but at this moment, that was the least of her worries. she was completely occupied by the little bet she and brianna had made with one another, pushing through the crowd as she scouted her next target. and then she saw him - the man who had vexed her so in the crownlands. she almost scoffed and turned away, but found herself looking back at him over her shoulder. she was loathe to admit it, but he was attractive, even if his personality was lacking. and so, she turned back around, and moved towards him.
she didn't call out, nor announce her presence. she didn't even think he noticed her until she was a few paces away. their gazes met, her eyes shining with mischief, and it was only then that she held out her hand, a silent invitation for him to take it.

Last Line Challenge
I'm now writing a brand new ficcy, so I can finally take this tag again. 👀
*aehm!* Anyways!
Tagged by @valkeakuulas
Rules: in a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or as many as you feel like).
(Not adding a single line alone, because it would make zero sense, so I'm dropping the last bit typed so far.)
“Nice trick. Do you also know how to use a stolen gun?” He asked, back to his unfazed self.
“Well… They make for quite a decent club.” The other hummed again, handing the rifle back to its owner. “That is, if there’s anyone left to whack.”
Tagging whoever may want to share a sneak peek of their own WIPs! 👀

" how long are we going to keep doing this ? " he asked in a begging tone . " the cold shoulder . . . me sleeping in the guest room . . . you only talking to me if you need to ? " he was genuinely concerned with if he was fighting a losing battle . he knows he fucked up , but if she was never going to forgive him , then why were they pretending to fix their marriage ? " i just . . . " he sighed , regrouping himself to keep his voice level down . " i just don't see how we're going to fix this if the only time you really talk to me is in that office . Daisy Al-Amir's 'The Tale of the Oil Jug'
By Daisy al-Amir  Translated by Hend Saeed  Translator’s note: “The Tale of the Oil Jug” comes from Daisy Al Amir’s collection The Country that She Loved. Reading the story, we can’t help but think of her 1996 article on the great poet Badr Shakir al-Sayyab, “What did he give and what did he take?” published in Abda’a magazine, in which she recalls her time at the Higher Teacher Training…

I know I sound like a broken record by now: repeating the same things others have said before but I think banality of it all is the point of my post. The fact that I have nothing new to say– not about the genocide in Gaza, not about the dwindling attention of allies, is HORRIFYING.
It has been 11 months of a genocide that the UN calls “war on children”. Malnutrition, diseases, lack of suitable medical care have caused Gazan children to lose their childhood; to lose their lives entirely!
There is no hope left for a future unmarked of pain and my friend Siraj Abudayeh ( @siraj2024 ) , who is father to three sons describes it as a “feeling of oppression”.  He laments that his children have been forced away from their schools, hopes and dreams  by colonizers and where before there were ambitions to excel in either studies or sports, all they know now is helplessness, fear and anger.
Siraj has told me how his children- Abed, Muhammad and Amir have confessed to their father about how they have begun to  feel guilty for surviving at all now ; after having lost so many of their friends to the genocide they are experiencing survivor's guilt and it breaks my heart to hear that. Abed, the eldest son, is ONLY ELEVEN!!  Can you imagine an eleven year old feeling guilty because he has managed to survive while his friends haven't ? And what kind of survival it is– Half starving, drinking unclean water, forced into tents where sand mites pester him throughout the day?
I am not sure what happened or why the engagement with fundraisers has dropped so drastically lately but there is nothing more atrocious, more horrible than apathy when children are suffering.  It is so strange that we can quote James Baldwin so easily and yet have failed to understand what he meant when he said,
"The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; ...whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality. ”
We have the power that is not afforded to Gazans and therefore it is on us to be attentive no matter how repetitive these posts feel. It is ridiculous and dehumanizing that during a genocide one has to worry about making a post original enough to maintain attention. And yes I know that we won't be able to stop the horrifying banality of Israel’s evil in a day but WE CAN help provide FIVE families that are dependent on this fundraiser with a lifeline during times such as these.
Please we have managed to get this far after struggling for so long, it cannot be that we will fail Siraj when he is so close to the end goal of 82k !!
So DONATE AND BOOST. Find it in yourself to not just reblog but circulate the fundraiser among your colleagues, friends and family. Share it in your whatsapp chats and discord servers. Share it on every other platform that you may have a reach on.
Currently at $72,987 CAD of the short term goal of 75k. We have 2k left to raise by tomorrow.

Sundance 2024 Short Film Program #5: "Voice Ever", "Ekbeh", "The Looming Cloud" and More
Just a few days after I got my WordPress 8 Year Anniversary notification, I logged onto the internet and bought my first ticket for Sundance. Of course, even 8 years of blogging is not enough to get press access to the festival, nor am I prepared to spend the hundreds of dollars required to attend the festival in person. I am, however, able to watch the short films online for a mere $25. After…

Cold by Amir Lane
Tumblr media
Read time: <1 Day Rating: 4/5 Stars
The Quote: He was going to die here, alone. In the middle of nowhere; broken and helpless against something he didn’t know how to take down. No. No, he wasn't going to die like this, not without a fight. — Laurentz Geiger
At about 18p long this is short and engaging, unlike Amir Lane's other short stories, it carries very obvious historical and paranormal fiction elements. This is set in Prussia (specifically Leipzig) in the 18th century featuring a vampire hunter (Laurentz Geiger), a hell hound (Aksalom) and an Archdemon (Demonsetere Silva). This is written well, it answers questions the reader likely didn't know they had, uses slightly unusual lore and makes all the characters likable. It doesn't go on longer than it needs to. The title of this, Cold, comes from a brilliant place especially if you want to look at contrasts upon expectations.
I like the differences between Amir Lane's three standalone short stories Cold, Scrap Metal and Circutury and The Violinist. I have read them end on end, and the tones and feelings at the end are all different. It shows their range and skill as an author all in very compact packages.

DO NOT SCROLL, URGENT CAMPAIGN.
[pt: Do not scroll, urgent campaign.]
I am making this post to clear up some confusion regarding Momen's campaign that may have prevented people from donating because it made them sceptical about its legitimacy. This confusion is most likely caused by the failures of machine translation.
Momen is attempting to evacuate ten family members, with the cost of evacuation for each being €7,000. So far, the amount raised is only enough for two. The family members are:
Father (suffers from hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes)
Mother (suffers from hypertension)
Three brothers
Two sisters
Ahmed's (the eldest brother) children, Malak (newborn) and Muhammad (who has Polio)
Reham's (eldest sister) newborn, Amir
Their newborn babies are suffering from a number of respiratory issues. One of the younger members of his family contracted Hep C due to water contamination (and I apologise for spreading misinformation, as I truly did think it was his child, but it isn't). His hopes are to get his family evacuated so they can all receive urgent medical attention.
Momen is only 24 years old. He is bearing an unimaginable weight on his shoulders. He's essentially been begging for several months now since the campaign's creation to an uncountable number of strangers who have bared little to no heed to his campaign. His campaign has struggled to receive any traction. His blogs have been banned and suspended, over and over and over again. And honestly? Even with all this information in mind, I still don't know what it takes to get you people to donate.
Is it the lack of money? Well, that's not it! You people help raise thousands for AO3 yearly. Is it that you think he's a scammer? He's been vetted as number 125 on that spreadsheet, so that's probably not it unless you think Palestinians are scammers by default. Why are you letting yourself become desensitised to their pain? Why does every facet of their misery need to be posted for you to care, and even still you won't?
The campaign is behind on its short term goal. Severely behind, only €854/3724. The deadline is the end of tomorrow, and if we don't reach it then God help us, because then it will take even longer to fill the gap for the funds for each member's evacuation. Every campaign is urgent. Even the ones that don't list it as such. They're undergoing bombing, they're forced to evacuate from place to place while ill and terrified. You think they want to live another minute of this? Another day?
Every amount helps. I feel like a broken record saying this. Just donate. However, you much you can. 1, 20, 5, if that's the most you can. Share as much as you can.

From writing today -
(Generation Chapter 70)
"I was afraid they’d cut me apart… it felt like it—but it was also this… horrible shame—I wished I could hide from them, but they were cutting into not just flesh but—” He laid his hand on his heart. “And I was so afraid they’d do even worse…. They’d take what I’d never give to them—and their hands were already claiming me, their hands, slimy with my blood—” His eyes darted to her. “Sorry. You don’t want to hear this.”
“It’s okay,” she said, although she abhorred the description; she had to fight not to see Jason lying there as well. It was her worst nightmare—what they might be doing to him—and they’d already done it to Saul. It wasn’t unreasonable to expect the same.
And Jason had been with them for over a week.

Something I Noticed..
So from what we've seen, all the Sins have 3 forms, each in varying sizes.
Their Small and Medium forms are pretty much the same appearance wise, and seem like they're used for daily convenience. With their Small form being the size of an average demon. And their Medium form being about two or three times that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then they have their Large, or 'Full Demon' forms, in this state they tower over any other type of demon, along with parts of their body transforming. This seems like it's the one that actively used for battle as they unleash their full power.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Viv recently said that Lucifer is bothered by how short he is. So I find it's lowkey hilarious that Lucifer also has 3 forms. But he
NEVER.

GETS ANY.
