What's your thoughts on r1999 currently, may I ask? c:

Thank you for asking, time to ramble (It's so sad I have no mischievous emoji)

To be fair, I joined Reverse 1999 around 1.4, so I'm not from the start of the game. And it's also my very first Gacha game ever so, I hold it dearly.

Reverse 1999 has such a story that, despite being complicated, it drives you in and never stops getting better and better. The element of drama always leaves you wanting more (THAT CLIFFHANGER IN CHAPTER 5 WAS SO UNFAIR) and the characters are so well fleshed out that even the NPCs are lovable. You can see why some characters do what they do, why they do it and also see them maturing as the story goes on.

Vertin is also why this game is my favorite, she's a strong main character who is strong on her own, but is stronger with company. She's exactly what I imagine a strong MC to be, I've seen enough stories and some MCs are not as memorable as others, but the story wouldn't be the same without Vertin. And she's funny! Her dumb silly jokes are such a contrast to her calm and collected demeanor, you can see how she's so silly while being serious.

And the events work to expand the world, to explain more corners of this place you're seeing from other people's perspective, that could be 1.1, the life before the story, 1.8 and how the storm is a real menace and not something you can dismiss. It explores so many characters in such a way that, you might not like them, but they're made in such a way that you have to admit they're unique.

And talking about the storm, it's such a complicated thing that even you, the player, can't seem to figure it out. Every time you know more about the storm, more questions pop up. You're just like the characters, unable to know how to stop the storm. It's something that makes you enjoy the experience because you're not omnipresent or stronger, you're just someone seeing the story through Vertin's eyes, and Vertin is just a little guy, not some goddess or the key to everything (though she might be very helpful to stop the storm)

And they really know how to make a good relationship with the characters. The characters that are obviously shipped together have majestic chemistry (Vila and Windsong are my favorite example, they're not doomed but in the beginning you can tell they're going to get together at some point). And somehow, they manage to make them so unique it's like "Yo what the hell???", You get a Centaur and a 80's horror movie girl, a siren and some pathetic badass girl, this huge nerd and her childhood friend, and so on! They're so fun to describe together.

I think Reverse 1999 is a depressive game superficially but once you drive deeper, it has so many things to say and touches so many subjects in a way that is so easy to digest but also to understand. They put so much love and effort into the game and you can feel it, their characters and the story, the extra content and so much more.

I'm always on the lookout for a good game and I've found it! It's not a perfect game, that's for sure, but it's so easy to love and, at least to me, it will never get boring.

I might have said too much nothing 😓, I get excited when someone asks me about this game that I end up missing the point of the question jeje. Thank you for asking!

i know i haven't written anything in like two months, but i'm still going to put The Walking Dead since all of my active WIPs are from that one - but like, in general i write whatever i'm into at any given time (prev: The Boys, TFATWS, CA: TWS, Witcher, Watcher Entertainment, general rpf, etc etc)

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I SWEAR I TRY i'm just so fucking bad at it, when i'm in an upswing of writing i don't want to stop to reply (which makes me an asshole) and then when i can't get words out i'm just too sad to try and respond to everything... usually once a year (right before @febuwhump i do a full two weeks of JUST responding to as many as i can from the previous year) (so i guess if you haven't heard from me, wait till January 2025 😅)

i have! multiple times. almost ALL rpf from Buzzfeed Unsolved stuff weirdly enough

also yes! i think the only one(s) posted are the ones with @ponderosa121 (Gotham, Constantine) but i've done some Very Good and Very Long RP fics with @sparklingbinjuice that one day i'm going to make into actual fics and post

why do people keep asking me this 😅 if you asked me RIGHT NOW (which is kind of what's happening) i would say neggie (negan x maggie) but this answer is subject to change at the drop of a hat. a month ago it would have been cegan (negan x carl), seven months ago it would have been butchie (butcher x hughie), and before that it was winterbones (rumlow x bucky) or hell, roosmav (rooster x maverick) and so on and so forth

smut. descriptive smut.

dialogue. jesuschrist i hate writing dialogue (esp for negan, fuck that guy and his tone and innuendo and run on sentences) (affectionate but still annoyed)

first posted on AO3 is for NBC Constantine but that's only from 2015 and i've been writing smut since the late 90s 🙃 reader-insert for Star Wars was probably the first thing i ever wrote (before i even really knew what fanfic was tbh) (luke x me babyyyy) but some of the first stuff i published to an audience back in the yahoo groups days would have been the UK queer as folk or... shit, gundam wing probably?

(also, sidenote but tfw you realize charlie hunnam was in the UK QAF on this day of our lord 2024???) (just need a moment while my childhood watching queer as folk collides with my adulthood adoration for pacific rim crash into each other)

Honestly I've just realised how different mutuals are on different social medias. TikTok for example, I've used TikTok for years, it's actually the first platform I made an account on, ever. And mutuals aren't that important there. At least from my experience.

Sure, people have moots, but at least with my moots, I barely interact despite having so many. Instead on here, I interact w/ my moots on a more "personal" level. I actually talk to them, interact with their posts and boost them, etc. On TikTok probably the most personal interaction might be a "mootie wtf is this??? /j" reply on a comment of you saying something questionable or a "hi mootie!!" when you happen to be in the same comment section. Here I'm actually like: "HI GUYS LOOK AT MY COOL MOOTS!! MY FRIENDS WHO LIVE INSIDE MY COMPUTER!! :D"

These interactions have actually made me become more brave to talk w/ people online. I'm more brave to chat with people on Discord and actually I'm getting less shy with joining Discord servers, even though clicking the invite link takes me 10 minutes of "will my moot who reblogged this think I'm stalking them because I'm on the same servers as them??? I hope they don't find me creepy and block me".

I suppose the shyness with talking to people comes from the fact that TikTok people are, let's say, RESERVED. Most users there have "spam like = blocked" on their bio, because apparently spamming likes causes shadowban. (Which means your content is not properly pushed to the For You Page by the algorithm, but your account still exists). And some TikTok users may consider frequent interaction stalking.

So I've kinda grown to be shy about frequently talking in Discord servers or "following my moots everywhere", which is basically just me, for example, joining a server they reblogged a link to or joining platforms they have an account on. But I just fear that people see it as creepy, like: "Vapo, wtf, why are you everywhere???". But in reality it's just me walking my mutuals' paths to find more people!! Friends even!! Especially because my content everywhere is flopping so so badly. Algorithms have hated me this year.

And that's another thing! Tumblr mutuals will usually reblog or at least like your posts to boost them a little bit. TikTok users don't really do that, and usually if they like, it's for the sake of just liking the post with no proper feelings behind it.

So, TL;DR: Tumblr moots are superior to TikTok moots and I'm scared of being blocked because I like to interact with my moots a lot.
