dad Stone and dilf!reader? what do you think? them meeting when Stones daughter is younger (reader is offering babysitting services to his neighbours with kids and since everyone knows him and know he has experience raising children since his are grown people trust him so that could be their meeting point or smth)
Girl dad!Stone being enamored with DILF!Reader is something that should definitely be a thing! But RIP to you though, since Stone is super paranoid when it comes to people around Saira so it would take a while for the man to really like you. (Oh my God, Stone would be 29 in this AU.)
Stone was called to a nearby Marine base to help in the base hospital despite him not being on deployment, so he had to quickly find someone to babysit Saira who was just starting middle school. He learned about you through a Marine he served with who also lived in the neighborhood, how you're wonderful with kids and have experience due to having your own kids.
He was really reluctant despite your glowing recommendations, but he didn't have time to find someone else, so he hired you. Your first meeting was rushed, him needing to get to the base hospital, but he stayed long enough to give you a beeper and tell you how to reach him via his beeper.
Despite his rough exterior, you could tell he loved Saira very much, evident in the way he took the time to kiss her forehead and tell her he loved her (albeit his voice was cold since you were there). He left you two alone there, pointing to the list of everything you needed to know.
The list was all of Saira's allergies (she was allergic to nuts and shellfish) and her schedule, which was just her needing to do her homework before her bedtime.
She was super polite, a happy kid despite her father being cold and stoic. She didn't complain about doing her homework, so when she finished, you let her play. She was quite at ease with you and you found out that she had an interest in cooking, with the way she watched you make her lunch and dinner with intense eyes.
Overall, she was definitely one of the best kids you had ever babysat for.
By the time Stone comes home at night, Saira's already in bed and fast asleep while you were lounging on the couch. He apologized gruffly for coming home so late, saying the base hospital had been so busy. You understood, you had a feeling he tried his best not to stay away from Saira too long.
He paid you and sent you on your merry way, but you were hoping he'd require you to babysit Saira again. Purely because Saira was a good kid, definitely not also because Stone looked so tired and in desperate need of someone to lend him a hand.

I think ghost and blacksheeps first interactions would be cute so here how it would probably go:
Dr. Bellum: Do you think blacksheep might get a little jealous of our newest young one?
Cleo: Well I'd expect so, they are both teenagers, and Blacksheep is used to having the attention it's more than likely they don't get along.
Bellum: I guess you might be right, well we better go introduce them before the other students arrive for orientation.
[Cleo retrieves Blacksheep from her dorm while Bellum retrieves ghost from her unpacking]
Bellum: Well Blacksheep I'd like you to meet our newest recruit, Ghost, she is under aged like you so she will be under our care. She has come from Russia.
Cleo: Ghost, this is Blacksheep she was raised here in the school, she's a bit of a trouble maker so don't let her rub off on you, we actually had and insident last year but we're over it right Blacksheep?
Blacksheep: yes ma'am...
Cleo: anyhow she will be showing you around the facility after orientation but first we'd like you to get to know each other for a bit so me and dr. Bellum will be right outside the room if you need us
Bellum: call for us if you have any problems
[ cleo and Saira leave the room leaving the 2 girls alone]
Blacksheep: vy govorite po-angliyski?
Ghost: Oh um i-i don't actually know much Russian...
Blacksheep: Oh sorry...
Ghost: ...uhm do you like rocks?
Blacksheep: I guess why?
Ghost: Well uh h-here it's a piece of pink quartz...
She says holding out a shiny pink stone while looking away
Ghost: I-I uh I didn't know what to get you b-but I found this by the beach s-so I uh thought it might make a nice gift...
Blacksheep takes the stone in her hand admiring it for a second
Blacksheep: It's beautiful thank you
And that's how a beautiful mischievous friendship began ❤️

Day Blind
(It's been a long time since David's seen the sun. Elder Sarah shows him a memory.)
(Let's let David have something nice :> Elder Sarah and the Sarahs are ocs that will be explored further in the main story, but they are a coven of vampires who lives in an area close to the Boys' pack, and who they visit semi-regularly.)
-
It’s the height of summer, and the world is alive.
A lonely cabin tucked away in the woods is not so lonely now. Within its walls, despite their own iffy relationship with the concept, a lively group has come to share stories of a year gone by, and ready themselves for more to come.
The coven enjoys the pack’s presence, as distant family enjoys each other for a reunion, though their groups aren’t related or bonded by blood.
Michael and Dwayne look after Little Saira, the toddler vampire growing into her teeth with every passing month. Mother Sara watches them with a hawk’s gaze all the while. And if David’s not mistaken, before he left he thought he saw Weird Serra, Marko, and Paul slip off into the night, a glint he well-recognizes in all their eyes as hands wandered to what clothing kept from sight…
But that wasn’t his purpose tonight.
Elder Sarah, the old woman of the woods, head of her coven, had said there was something she meant to show him.
They're alone, deep in the pines. A clearing, not far from the house, but there is no one here - none from the coven, none from the pack. Alone. There is a break between two mountains.
“Just around spring,” Sarah says, “when the sun rises, it comes right between those peaks there.” She tells David to look at them. To keep them in his mind. Then, she puts her hand over his eyes, and closes her own.
Sarah has taken David here before. To show him things. To teach him.
She can do as he does, after all. Conjure falsehoods into others’ minds. She’s just had a couple hundred years more practice.
For a moment, it's black. Just Sarah's hands over his eyes, her cool skin against his own. It starts like a whisper in the back of his mind, a notion he knows is not his own worming its way into his thoughts, like water through stone. Just as he does, she is tying her knots in the string she will pull in his head. She is not of his pack - not of his blood - and he feels his teeth sharpen, be he holds himself back, still.
Then, between the cracks of her fingers, he sees a light.
Almost immediately he tries to pull away, a century of painful lessons driving him to run and hide. David has felt it before, in short moments - early on, out of ignorance, later, out of cruelty, and later still, by his own choice though that was only for a few seconds.
But he’s always retreated. His bane, a bane all their kind shared but for him was torturous, skittering back like the beast he is under the eye of the heavens.
But Sarah's hands are iron, and hold him in place. Wrapping around his wrists, his chest. She may look like a woman three times his age, not much taller than him and frailer than a young, strong boy, but her will is as the bases of the mountains themselves; utterly immovable.
"You're safe, David. It's okay. Just look."
Her hand falls away.
Gold.
Gold, like the warmest flames of a fire, but with a strength of pure light behind it that feels like it's spearing him in place.
Between the peaks of the mountains, shining like it's been there all the while and casting the world into color the likes of which David can barely recall, it rises. The pine woods are emerald and chartreuse, the blue-white mountain tops of snow and rock glimmer as they're haloed by it.
David cannot look away. Something wet trails down his cheek, and he finds he is grateful for Sarah's arms around him.
The sun shines down on him, and he feels warm.
In moments where all his other tricks hasn’t worked - when a fight goes bad, and those he’s fighting against don’t respond to the illusion of ants and worms eating into their skin, or swarms of dark, humming wasps clouding out the world around them - David has resorted to this. Setting upon another vampire the feeling of heat and light that would spell death for all their kind. It has always worked.
But now, here, he feels the sun on his skin without pain. He can see it in the sky.
As if he were human again, for a moment.
Almost too much. It’s a surprise, and he also knows that as great as Sarah’s power is, just like him, there is always a limit, and a cost. He isn't sure, exactly, when his legs give out, but when they do, she is there to catch him. She follows him to the ground.
All at once, the strings in his head are gone. Not withdrawn, but snipped. The sky is black, lit by a thousand stars - a billion suns a billion years away. They're back in the dark of the nighttime forest.
He can hear his own hitching breathing and feel the wet tracks of tears on his face, but it's far away, somehow disconnected from him.
Sarah gently runs a hand through his hair. "There there, it's okay sweetheart. You're alright."
"Thank you." David chokes out. Sarah just smiles.
"It's a bad habit of mine, my mother used to say. That I did for others what I couldn't do for myself."
David glances at her. Her own eyes are distant, looking at the far mountains.
...Right. The other side of all this - their illusions were convincing, real to anyone they inflicted them upon from a handful of squirming maggots to conjuring a phantom sunrise…but not for those who made them.
Sarah could not see her own sun.
In her smile, her teeth flash in the light of the moon, glittering in rainbow shine.
David wonders how long it’s been since she’s seen that sun.
"...Maybe someday I will," he says. "For you."
If he lives that long.
She tilts her head at him, smile small, but still in place. "Maybe."

I know people keep recommending TDP if you like the Owl House, but can I recommend people Carmen Sandiego 2019? Come on, if you like evil villain groups with personality, then you’ll like Carmen Sandiego’s antagonist.
You have:
Coach “Mama Bear” Brunt, who values family and views her villain co workers as family even if they don’t. Will snap you in half if you betray the family. Is very funny. Will work well if like buff women. Dislike the local man with the sword because she thinks he does care.
Dr. Saira “I love Cats” Bellum. Her name is a pun yet doesn’t understand them herself. She loves cats and possibly has ADHD because she has so many screens. Plays in her lab and makes toys (weapons). Is sassy and isn’t here for work. Mind wipes her best student and doesn’t care. Is a good pick if you like Vitimir. Is probably shippable with the Countess.
Countess “I’m a Work of Art” Cleo. Was a failed model, yet still never stops thinking she’s fabulous. Has expensive taste and kills it in anything she wears. Too much of a stiff and isn’t here for her co workers bs. Just wants to get through the day. Is the only person who calls Dr. Bellum by her first name instead of her last name. Is possibly shippable with Saira. Has a fashion rivalry with Maelstrom.
Gunnar “Everyone thinks I’m a Vampire” Maelstrom. The most creepiest man you met and even sometimes carries an umbrella to block the sun. Everyone thought he was a vampire. Is possibly psychopath, but does psychological evaluations on the students. It is favorite movie. Has a fashion rivalry with Cleo because he rudely wanted to melt historical coins. If you find Terra an interesting villain, I can’t promise that he will be on same level but he enjoys his job.
Shadowsan, the man who has the best arc that have ever seen. Actively has honor and feels regret for betraying his brother because he was young and foolish teenager. Is stone cold, but has a heart of gold because he cares deep down. Is a tough love man, who hopes that it points you in the right direction on the path of good. Is a ninja, will kick your ass and dislikes the Coach the have different plans for the main character.
The Cleaners who are the most intimidating henchmen you will ever meet. They probably killed people and probably have deadly cleaning tools. Perhaps former agents who didn’t want to leave for retirement, so they do cleanup work. They take it very seriously. Amazing singers and dancers.
Look, I can’t help if I keep drawing comparisons and I will drag anyone to watch Carmen Sandiego 2019. It’s a good show and has killer animation, even if the last two seasons fell flat but I blame Netflix for that.

you seem like a cool system and we're stoned so we're feeling social! what relationship dynamic does your system overall have? we view ourselves as a sort of found family, whereas a friend's system views themselves as strangers (though some of them know of each other).
Lol also feeling social for the same reason hah. Thanks you also seem like a cool system!
It's complicated but I'd say we are like a family, or rather an intermarrying of families. I often describe us as being an alien field research team. We all were OCs before being diagnosed so essentially we have a shared paracosmic inner world with lots of history. JRR Tolkien levels of history.
We all are of the same species but earth hits us all different so we try to take care of one another in that respect. there's some strange alien social hierarchy in there too. It's a lot and I may go more in depth on here in the future when I get a desktop computer.
A lot of us are in relationships with each other and our partner systems alters, But basically I'm like a steward of sorts to Saira(the only other alter who posts on Tumblr). He has more memories and access to our myths and spiritually because of prior exotrauma, while I have learned earth to a point of almost losing my former species identity. I'm almost too human because I'm good at blending in. So I'm like a travel guide queer platonic partner to him and most of my system while he reminds me of where I've come from.

In this blog, we will embark on a virtual journey to discover the mesmerizing beauty and captivating stories that surround the magnificent Saira Fort.
A Glimpse into History:
The Saira Fort, also known as Jaisalmer Fort, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest fully preserved fortified cities in the world. Built-in the 12th century by Rajput ruler Maharawal Jaisal, the fort stands tall on Trikuta Hill, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Its imposing yellow sandstone walls and intricate architecture make it an architectural marvel of Rajasthan.
Intricate Architecture and Design:
As you step foot inside the Saira Fort, you will be awe-struck by the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into its construction. The fort's walls are adorned with exquisitely carved jharokhas (balconies), intricate latticework, and delicate stone filigree. The narrow lanes and alleys winding through the fort lead to hidden havelis (mansions), temples, and vibrant markets, providing a glimpse into the lifestyle of the bygone era.
Havelis: Witnesses of a Bygone Era:
Within the Saira Fort, you will encounter numerous havelis that showcase the opulent lifestyle of the Rajput merchants. Patwon Ki Haveli, Nathmal Ki Haveli, and Salim Singh Ki Haveli are among the most famous ones. These havelis boast ornate facades, intricately carved pillars, beautiful frescoes, and stunning courtyards, transporting you back in time to the glory days of Jaisalmer's prosperous past.
Jain Temples: Spiritual Serenity:
The Saira Fort in Jaisalmer is home to several beautifully crafted Jain temples that reflect the religious diversity of the region. Among them, the 15th-century Chandraprabhu Temple, dedicated to the eighth Jain Tirthankara, is a must-visit. Admire the marble sculptures, detailed ceiling frescoes, and serene ambiance as you explore the intricate interiors of these temples, offering a peaceful respite from the bustling fort.
The Living Fort:
Unlike many other historical structures, the Saira Fort is not just a relic of the past; it is a living fort. It is home to a vibrant community of locals who have resided within its walls for generations. Interacting with the residents and experiencing their warm hospitality provides a unique opportunity to understand the fort's cultural heritage and traditional way of life.
Sunset Splendor:
No visit to the Saira Fort is complete without witnessing the mesmerizing sunset from its ramparts. As the sun descends, casting a golden hue on the surrounding desert, the fort transforms into a magical sight. Find a spot on the fort's walls, soak in the breathtaking view, and capture the moment as the fort glows in the fading light.
Conclusion:
The Saira Fort in Jaisalmer is not just an architectural marvel but also a living testament to the rich heritage of Rajasthan. Day 1: Da khet Kroken
Heri's gone off to report on the long mission trip. May be a few days, so she paid our room at the inn for a week ahead with seven silver coins (pohkai bhildik syka).
Poured beer all over the last bits of parchment I had brought with me. My first venture then was an unplanned one onto a market street to find some paper I could write on. After almost falling into the canal on two occasions, I stumbled into a stone building with a massive eagle's feather quill (milu) painted on the door.
I clumsily greeted the figure having tea inside with the farewell words mjált fondbji. They smiled and, probably very slowly on purpose:
– Jomi enhun saira lhai?
What do you need... Oh boy. I first made a square with my hands and then mimed writing.
– Ky amakbji ibör..?, I do writing... Best I could do.
I mimed a square again.
– Karet?, they lifted up a sheet of parchment. Must mean paper.
– Bjot, bjot! Enhun saira karet... ah, kharet.
– Mia... khet rhúl? Enhun sai mhisan rúl, mista?
Visan? Could be a form of nisan, bisan or misan, not that I knew what any of those meant or if they were words. They must have noticed.
– Ket..., one finger in the air, Miiiiiiiisan. Both hands, one foot apart.
Lots and lots of karet! I couldn't manage more than a vigorous nodding. They pulled open a drawer filled with sheets of parchment and also produced a bound notebook from a shelf.
– Misan rúl lö, sjulo lö? I knew this next one.
– Sjulo, tasbyr!, the next one was a complete guess, reibbyr misan?
'How much do I pay?' Hah! Acquired and applied in the same minute.
Notebook purchased and quill sharpened, I now sit back in the downstairs pub and have noted the first two entries of my fresh diary. The barkeep here visits a calligraphy club once a week and was able to give me a few hints for the following lexicon entries.
Day 1 Tajlen lexicon
misan - adj/det. much, many. see lai for usage in questions.
karet - n.syn. paper, parchment.
sjulo - n.syn. bound book.
bjot - interj. Yes!
milu - n.nat. feather, quill.
bildik - n.syn. silver. bíl+dík.
syka - n.syn. coin. likely a Seilian borrowing.
ijyrdran - n.syn. shop, store. ijyr+drán.

girl dad Stone with dilf reader who has a kiddo of his own
Saira is like 15-16 and wants to have some big girl money of her own but most places won't hire her so she's stuck doing stuff like mowing lawns and babysitting nightmare children for the neighbours. reader moves into the house next to Saira and Stone with his little daughter. reader is hugelarge and built like a grizzly (Stone is chest height at best). reader is a big, strong man, bit of a dad bod, has some beard, longish hair (basically a viking looking dude. make him scandinavian fuck it. probably has been in the military at some point). despite his looks reader is the chillest man alive. soft voice, even tone, very soft and chill, down to earth nature vibes (basically like one of those monk/mentor characters from the medias) like a huge cuddly bear that could bend metal with his bare hands. his daughter is chill too. like scarily chill. no roughhousing, no tantrums or screaming, the lil thing is like 5-6 years old and is more mature than some teens (reader may or may not be a little concerned and trying to encourage his daughter to be a little rowdy even if she prefers napping on her dads chest more than any game). readers daughter is also really smart for her age, likes technology and numbers while still appreciating nature.
okay now onto the meeting.
Saira rocks up on readers doorstep to offer babysitting services and reader is delighted that he wouldn't have to break himself trying to find someone to look after his little bird(he calls his daughter little bird because she often climbs him and perches on his shoulder). when reader needs to leave for work he brings his daughter over to Saira and meets Stone. greetings are exchanged and reader skeddadles and his daughter is left with them. Saira and readers daughter spend the time playing, doing homework and hanging out (readers daughter is complimenting everything and everyone because she's a kid and has 0 filter). at some point readers daughter and Stone end up in the same room and readers daughter looks at Stone and goes "you should tell my dad to take you on a date" (not ask tell daughter is straight up telling Stone to command reader to take him on a date) if Stone or Saira have any questions about what just came out that child mouth daughter just says that she likes them both and her dad needs a friend. anyway reader comes back, picks up his child, pays Saira hella cash for her services and goes home (maybe brings over some baked goods the next day as thanks and a sign of good will).
(also it would be lowkey hilarious if they met in a different way and readers daughter got protective of her dad when she noticed Stones attraction to her dad and is @Stone like "i know where you live" trying to be all intimidating but it doesn't really work when the person threatening Stone is knee height at best and weighs less than the weights he lifts when working out)
anyway idk what this is. this is just wordwomit at this point i just want Stone to get a hot dilf and for Saira to get a lil sister and a second dad. just found family vibes
I love word-vomit, yes tell me everything about your idea even—no, especially if it leaves me to just add on a tiny bit. I love it.
Anyways, Girl Dad!Stone would be so confused by your daughter telling him to tell you to take him out on a date. First of all, he's used to most kids (save for Saira) being scared of him but that can just be explained by you being taller than Stone. Second of all, huh???
He's never had a kid be so demanding before and he has no idea what to do about it. Like what if you don't actually like him? What if he asks you out on a date and you reject him? Telling you to take him out on a date just seems too... bold, but it's what your daughter said to do.
Saira would love you daughter, would happily play with her. She's content about not having to deal with rowdy younger kids.
(She swears she wasn't rowdy when she was younger, but Stone has the moments written down in his diaries and he's not afraid to whip those out.)
Stone is enamored with you because not only are you a father like him, but you're also taller than him? Have his heart already, okay.

kick some ass 🤟🏽
Hiiiii thank you for asking!! Ok so this is my dumbest au its a. Are you ready for this? A school of rock au.
So in this one Saira is Jack Black, a failing wannabe rock star who cons her way into substitute teaching for Imani's class despite never having taught children before. Instead of teaching them math obviously she teaches them all music and enters them semi-legally in a battle of the bands competition. Amina is the overworked anxious uptight principal who Saira is initially circumventing but ends up actually falling for. And it's about rediscovering your love for MUSIC and about finding a purpose and a calling as an adult even if it wasn't what you thought it would be!
But actually it's an excuse for me to fuck around and try (for once in my life) to write something short <3
“Now, you came very highly recommended, but I have to point out…” The principal of Horace Mann, whose name has entered and left Saira’s brain in the span of ten seconds, is leading a frantic pace through the front doors of the stone building and up the stairs of the entrance.
“Yeah?” Saira squints at Ms…. Something, through her building headache. She is not used to being out and about at this hour, not by a long shot.
“Well… I’m sorry, but…” Whatever her name is has a blue hijab and a nervous, placating demeanor. She also has the eyes of a cartoon baby deer, complete with the extra-curly lashes they give ‘em to show they’re a girl deer. It’s a lot to handle before 8am.
“It’s just… We have a strict dress code?” Too bad Bambi-eyes over here is an uptight prick. Oh well, you can’t have everything, Saira thinks, and then reflects admiringly on her own capacity for optimism first thing in the morning.

Friday Feature: November 12, 2021
Tumblr media
Welcome to the Friday Feature, where every Friday I feature a different Fanfic Writer’s blog. This week’s Feature Blog is:
Link to Masterlist
About the Author:
I’m Cole! I’m a married mom of 2 in her mid-thirties who has started writing fanfiction at the urging of her friends. It’s been a major stress reliever and creative outlet for me and is something that I credit with a lot of my new found confidence and curiosity.
Other info and plugs:
I help run six different discord servers, several different bingos, and have found my true family through tumblr and fanfiction. I also have a patreon where you can get exclusive fics and access to everything on tumblr several weeks in advance! Right now I’m running 4 weeks ahead for my series and one-shots and have several exclusive drabbles and a few one-shots for my patrons.
Tumblr media
Author’s Fave Personal Fics:
Blood and Ash
Summary: Y/N is a vigilante that isn’t quite on the same team as Red Hood. But when she gets injured, she has no one else to turn to. Will they break through each other's walls? Or will everything burn to ash?
Why the author likes this fic:
This was my first time writing for Jason Todd/Red Hood. I delved pretty deep into the lore for it and fell absolutely head over heels for him. The story I crafted to go along with these characters flew out of me, all 4.9k words.
Sounds of Someday
Summary: Y/N has been best friends with Corey Taylor, lead singer of both Slipknot and Stone Sour, for several years. When they finally get to see one another in person again, he introduces her to fellow rocker Jensen Ackles. Jensen feels an instant connection but Y/N resists. Can she overcome the damage of the past and let love in?
Why the author likes this fic:
This was supposed to be a one-shot. Maybe a trilogy at best. It turned into about 23 parts when I include the epilogue and prologue. The personalities I gave to everyone made me want to be their best friends. I know they’re creations of my own mind but I did take a lot of the personalities from live shows and cons and interviews and such. It’s honestly difficult to explain why this is so close to my heart. It’s my baby. It wasn’t my first fic, it wasn’t my first RPF. But it carved out a section of my heart and made sure it stays there. It’s a straight up slow burn romance so coming up with bigger and bigger ways to showcase it was fun.
Saints and Sinners
Summary: Y/N starts to feel disillusioned with her fast and loose lifestyle. Though single, she decides to get her life in order to marry in the Catholic church like she always dreamed of. Changes are not always for the better, though.
Why the author likes this fic:
This was my first ever fanfiction. It was, again, supposed to be a one-shot. But the story flowed so well and so fast. The twists and turns manifested themselves as the words poured out. It’s a great romantic thriller and I have read through it a few times and of course I always find something that I want to change but overall, I’m really satisfied with how it turned out. Even if I really wish I would have left it at chapter 21 instead of putting in 22.
Tumblr media
Author’s Fic Recommendations:
Regret and Redemption by @jensengirl83
Summary: Dean fucks up his marriage and has to win the love of his life back.
Why the author likes this fic:
This was one of my first series that I read on Tumblr back in October of 2020. I’ve read it through three times now. Brandy is an amazing author and the feelings that she evoked with this series were deep.
Dark & Stormy Night by @thinkinghardhardlythinking
Summary: Dean and Y/N get stuck riding out a storm. Some things come to light between claps of thunder.
Why the author likes this fic:
This was actually the first supernatural fic I read on tumblr. I reblogged and gushed - gushed I tell you - about how amazing it was. Saira and I became really good friends afterwards. She and B were my day 1s and the entire reason I’m writing.
The Match by @babyboibucky
Summary: CEO Bucky Barnes matches with an employee on Tinder. Chaos ensues when people start catching feelings.
Why the author likes this fic:
The way Bee writes Bucky is outstanding. It’s such a compelling story and I love all the detail she puts into it!
Life’s Lessons by @deangirl93
Summary: Dean Winchester’s new neighbor is a teacher. She catches his eye but he resists her charms because he’s a taken man. But when he finds out new information, things change!
Why the author likes this fic:
This is one of the fics that I fell in love with at the first sentence. (I love you, Rosh! It’s absolutely true!) I felt such a connection with her reader and saw so many of my own characteristics in her. She’s continuing the series and it’s going to be so amazing.
Hunted by @that-one-gay-girl
Summary: Y/N is a nurse who recently moved into a small town, what happens when one night, she wanders a bit too close to the water and things take a turn for the worst? Will Dean be able to figure out what’s going on? Will he be too late to save her? As this story unfolds, will Y/N come to regret her decision?
Why the author likes this fic:
This is one of the more recent ones that she’s written and she’s got so many twists and turns. I’m a huge true crime fan and this thriller is right up my alley. You won’t see the ending coming, that’s for sure.
Tumblr media
Thank you for checking out this week’s Friday Feature. Be sure to check out their blog, follow, send asks, go crazy! Check out all the fics linked and be sure to REBLOG and COMMENT!
Authors love to know what you think about their work - not just praise, but constructive criticism as well.
Constructive criticism is a helpful way of giving feedback that provides specific, actionable suggestions. Rather than providing general advice, constructive criticism gives specific recommendations on how to make positive improvements. Constructive criticism is clear, to the point and easy to put into action.
Shout out to @talesmaniac89 for the beautiful dividers she created and offered up for us for free! Check out her other resources here.
Would you like your blog to be showcased in a Friday Feature?
Maybe you have a fic you’ve written that you’d like to be included in the weekly Fic Recommendations?

do you think about how each night before going to sleep during that week of quarantine Ishaq held up the callstone to his face, hoping that maybe Hamid would call earlier?
do you think he'd be the most reluctant of the quarantined to figure out how to call each other, simply based on the fact Hamid might try to get to him?
do you think after being released, Ishaq just sat in the waiting room, clutching the stone in his hands, with Emeka and Vesseek refusing to leave his side before someone gets him, and Bi Ming looking out so no one would somehow call the kid out for using a tech he mayhaps shouldn't?
do you think how when Saira burst into the room, tears and smile open on her face when she sees Ishaq's alright, but he wouldn't even look up, wouldn't even flinch, just let himself be held by his new friends by both sides, saying that Hamid promised to call, and he keeps his promises, right?
do you think about Ishaq being suddenly more attached to the callstone than he'd expected, because this new world is so confusing and hurting and wrong, with his younger twin being so much older than expected, with his family being so torn over the apocalypse-in-motion and the troubles they have as a family?
do you think about Ismail trying to be close again with his twin, but failing because of everything being so different, and the experiences they had, for the first time, are so groundbreakingly apart that they feel a rift between each other?
do you think how angry and bitter Ismail could be over how attached Ishaq is to this magical artefact, instead of trying to find better ways to reconnect, and then completely breaking down over how, when Hamid called, only Ishaq could talk to him?

*Contains Sky SPOILERS*
All my favorite Musa Of Adisa quotes and scenes 🥺  ❤️
“I am Musa of Adisa,” the man says. “Son of Ziad and Azmath of Adisa. Grandson of Mehr and Saira of Adisa. I am also the only friend you have in this city” - A Reaper At The Gates
“Who’s the Beekeeper, and how can I find him?”
“Ah, Laia Of Serra.” His white teeth shine like those of a smug horse. He offers me his arm, and under the brightening sky, I finally get a closer look at his tattoos - dozens of them, big and small, all clustered around a hive.
Bees.
“It’s me, of course,” Musa says. “Don’t tell me you hadn’t guessed.” - A Reaper At The Gates
“You listen. How fast can you get information on the jinn?”
Musa strokes his chin. “Let’s see. It took me a week to learn that you’d broken Elias out of Blackcliff’s dungeons. Six days to learn that you’d set off a riot in Nur. Five to learn what Elias Veturius whispered to in your ear the night he abandoned you in the Tribal desert for Kauf Prison. Two to learn that the Warden-” - A Reaper At The Gates
“Musa and I go back again and again, carrying out those who cannot walk themselves, pulling to safety as many Scholars as we can.” - A Reaper At The Gates
“As I told the story, my attention was on the king. I did not notice the ghuls emerging from the shadows and congregating around the princess. I did not notice them latching themselves on to her like leeches. Musa looks as if he is watching the slow torture of someone he loves—which, I finally realize, he is.” - A Reaper At The Gates
“Nikla and I eloped ten years ago,” he says. “We were only a little older than you, but much more foolish. She had an older brother who was supposed to be king. But he died, she was named crown princess, and we grew apart.” I wince at the perfunctory nature of his recitation, a decade of history in four sentences. “I didn’t mention it before because there was no point. We’ve been separated for years. She took my lands, my titles, my fortune—”
“Your heart.” Musa’s harsh laugh echoes off the hard stone of the buildings on either side of us. “That too,” he says.” - A Reaper At The Gates
“Another arrow shoots out of the darkness, but it too misses its mark, dropping in midair—courtesy of Musa’s wights.
“Nikla!” Musa snarls. “Show yourself!” - A Reaper At The Gates
“When I rush her,” Musa whispers, barely audible, “run.” I’m just processing what he says when he’s past me and heading straight for Nikla. Immediately, silver-armored bodyguards step out of the shadows and attack Musa so swiftly that he is now nothing but a blur.” - A Reaper At The Gates
“Musa’s voice rings in my head. We need you as a voice for the Scholars. We need you as our scim and shield.” - A Reaper At The Gates
“You pull that hood any lower,” Musa of Adisa whispers from beside me, “and people will think you’re a jinn.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Stop waving around your blade, aapan.” Musa uses the Mariner honorific that means “little sister” and speaks with the same exasperation I sometimes hear from Darin. The Beekeeper, as Musa is known, is twenty-eight—older than Darin and I. Perhaps that is why he delights in bossing us around.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Musa eases my hand off the hilt. “You break Elias Veturius out of Blackcliff, burn down Kauf Prison, deliver the Martial Emperor in the middle of a war, face down the Nightbringer more times than I can count,” he says, “and you jump at a loud noise? I thought you were fearless, aapan.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“This . . . thing. This Rehmat. It was living inside you?”
“Like a parasite?” Musa says. “Or a demon?”
“Don’t be so horrified,” I say. “Whatever it is, it’s inside you too. All of you. Or so the Jaduna said.”
Musa looks down, clearly wondering if some fey beastie will burst unexpectedly from his chest.
“So if one of us had lost our temper and yowled at the Nightbringer—”
“I did not yowl—” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Laia! Watch it!” a Scholar man with dark skin and long, black hair calls out. He holds off three legionnaires with a scim, a short dagger, and—I squint—a cloud of hundreds of wights who befuddle his foes. They defend him with a vicious protectiveness that wights aren’t known for.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Tend to your wounds,” I say. “Then leave. Go back to the beach. To your boats. To a quick death, it matters not. But you will not enter the Waiting Place.”
“He’s your brother.” Musa speaks up, nodding to Harper. The Mask gapes at Musa, who doesn’t seem to notice.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“The Soul Catcher gives her a brief, unreadable look. “Yes. One human might slip through the forest undetected by them. But a half dozen? They will know you are here soon enough.”
“Can’t you just—” Musa puts his hands around his throat and mimes choking—referring no doubt to how the Soul Catcher can steal away breath.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“You’re late.” His armor is splashed with blood, but he doesn’t appear to have any wounds. Musa materializes behind him, limping. “Good in a fight.” Quin nods to the Scholar approvingly.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Not hard to look at, is he?” I jump at the voice next to me, my scim half-drawn. It is Musa, one hand gently nudging my blade back to its scabbard. He has a dozen bruises and as many cuts, most half-healed.
“So jumpy, Shrike. One would think you’d only just escaped a band of Karkauns by the skin of your teeth.” He chuckles darkly at his little joke, but his smile doesn’t reach his eyes. “Forgive me,” he says. “Laughing hurts less than facing what happened. I am sorry about Faris. I liked him.”
“Thank you,” I say. “And your joke was terrible, so naturally, Faris would have loved it.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“He pats his face, preening. “Everyone says I’m even more dashing with scars.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Now, Shrike.” Musa follows me reluctantly. “While I do like my women tall and bossy, and while I know this face is difficult to resist, sadly, my heart belongs to another—” “Oh, shut up.” I stop when we’re far from the courtyard. “You’re not that pretty.” He bats his eyelashes at me, and I wish he were just a bit uglier” - Sky Beyond The Storm
“In fact, I’ll offer you a little tidbit right now. Captain Avitas Harper is on his way here. He’s in the northwest corridor, passing that very ugly statue of a yak, and moving rather quickly.”
“How—” I know how he does it. Still, the specificity is uncanny.
“Ten seconds,” Musa murmurs. “Eight—six—” I stride swiftly away, wincing at the pain lancing up my leg. But I’m not fast enough.
“Blood Shrike,” Harper calls in a voice that I cannot ignore. I curse Musa as he walks off, laughing quietly.” - Sky Beyond The Storm
“Within the crowd of Karkauns, a squad of my men fight their way toward me, Musa among them. I try to join them, but the Karkauns surround us. Musa disappears, his scims flying, and I remind myself to ask him who the hells trained him before I am inundated by the enemy again.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Just the blather the Karkauns were spewing. Ik tachk mort fid iniqant fi. Haven’t been able to get a translation of it, but—”
“‘Death wakes the great sea,’” Musa translates, nodding a greeting to a group of Scholars as they pass. “Or—no, wait. ‘Death feeds the great sea.’”
I stop in the middle of the hall, ignoring the irritated grunt of a Mask who nearly runs into me. “Why didn’t you tell me you spoke Karkaun?”
“You didn’t ask.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“My grandfather taught me to fight. He was a palace guard. Saved old King Irmand’s life when he was a boy. Got a beekeeping estate for his trouble. My father became a healer, but I spent more time with the bees. I think they both thought training would toughen me up.”
“Did it?”
“I’m still alive, aren’t I?” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Go on, insult me,” Musa says. “But you and I are more alike than you know, and that’s not a compliment. You’re in a position of great power, Shrike. It’s a lonely place to be. Most leaders spend their lives using others. Being used. Love isn’t just a luxury for you. It’s a rarity. It’s a gift. Don’t throw it away.”
“I’m not throwing it away.” I stop walking and pull the Scholar around to face me. “I’m afraid, Musa.” I don’t mean to blurt the words out—especially to a man whose arrogance has vexed me from the moment I met him. But to my relief, he does not mock me.
“How many in Antium lost those beloved to them when the Karkauns attacked?” he asks. “How many like Dex, who hide who they love because the Empire would kill them for it?” Musa runs a hand through his black hair, and it sticks up like a bird’s nest. “How many like Laia, betrayed and then left to claw her way through her pain? How many like me, Shrike, pining for someone who no longer exists?” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“But that’s not what we’re talking about,” Musa says. “You are lucky enough to love someone who loves you back. He is alive and breathing and in the same vicinity as you. By the skies, do something about it. For however long you have. For whatever time you get. Because if you don’t, I swear that you’ll regret it. You’ll regret it for all your years.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Do you know where Musa of Adisa was in the fight to take Antium, Pontilius?” I say now. “At my side, bleeding for an Empire he’d never set foot in until a few months ago. Fighting for the Scholars. Tell me, General, where were you during the fighting?” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“As I walk through the freezing palace, I search for a flash of color amid the drear. Musa can always be counted on to wear at least one loud item of clothing—and I need his information now.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Someone who will know how to deal with Musa’s pain. But the Scholar does not release my hand.
“I shouldn’t mourn her.” He wipes his face, and I almost don’t hear him.
“She jailed my father. Took my lands. My title. The Scholars suffered under her rule.” - Sky Beyond The Storm
“We got married a decade ago. I was eighteen. She was nineteen. Her brother was crown prince, but he died of an illness and the palace healer—my father—couldn’t save him. She—” He shakes his head. “Grief took her. The ghuls found ripe prey with her, and they nibbled at her mind for years. And when I spoke of them to her, she called me insane. King Irmand was so grief-stricken after his son’s death that he did not see what was happening to his daughter.”
“My father died in prison. My mother soon after. And yet—” He looks between Harper and me. “I still loved her. I shouldn’t have, but I did.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“I have to go to Marinn,” Musa says. “Find Keris. Kill her. Nikla’s heir is a first cousin. Skies know if he’s still alive, but he’s young. He’ll need help.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“You want me to stay,” he says. “But the Mariners were my people first. They need me. And you owe me a favor, Shrike.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“All the way to Avitas’s quarters, where we can speak without interruption, I think of Musa’s cries. The way he sounded as if his soul had been dug out of his body.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Ah, young love,” Musa says, and I glance at him, wondering if I will see bitterness in his regard. But his smile takes years off his face, which has been drawn and desolate of late.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Love can be more powerful in a battle than planning or strategy. Love keeps us fighting. Love drives us to survive.”
“Skies, stop meddling—”
“I meddle because I hope, aapan.” The humor bleeds from his voice, and I’m certain he’s remembering his beloved, doomed Nikla. “Life is too short not to hope.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Soldiers on both sides of the escarpment stumble to their feet, still shaken from the maelstrom. Musa has an arm under the Blood Shrike’s shoulders, and together they stagger away from the front line, anguish emanating from both.” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“The Blood Shrike, Musa, and I are discussing how the troops should handle any rogue ghosts. When Laia appears, Musa kicks the Shrike in the ankle.
“What the hells, Musa—oh—” - A Sky Beyond The Storm
“Duty gives me a straight back when Musa, his own eyes red at the loss of Darin, finds me and takes me to a line of bodies to be buried in the jinn grove.” - A Sky Beyond the Storm
“Musa is here too, gesturing with the flatbread while flirting with Afya Ara-Nur. The Tribeswoman is still pale from her injury, wincing even as she laughs. Mamie looks amused while Spiro Teluman watches with a dark glare. The smith shouldn’t worry. Musa’s heart is as shattered as mine” - A Sky Beyond the Storm
“Gird your loins, Shrike.” Musa gives me a sidelong glance. “You’re about to get quite the promotion.” - A Sky Beyond the Storm
“I heard her tell Zacharias a story last night. He was rapt.”
“Where is he?”
“With Tas, eating moon cakes.” I nod to a cart near Mamie’s wagon, where the young Scholar boy, who appears to have grown a foot since I last saw him, grins as my nephew stuffs a cake into his mouth. Musa, keeping them company, hands over another.” - A Sky Beyond the Storm
“Musa has been invaluable in court, charming Illustrian Paters as easily as he has Scholars. When we broke up the estates of Keris’s top allies, it was Musa who suggested we award them to Scholars and Plebeians who fought in the Battle of Antium. And when grief threatens to consume me, it is Musa who appears with a meal and insists we eat it out in the sunshine. Musa who drags me to the palace kitchens to bake bread with him, and Musa who suggests a visit to Zacharias, even if it means canceling two weeks of court. I thought at first that the Scholar had wights watching me to make sure I did not fall too deeply into despair. But the wights, he told me, are no longer his spies.” - A Sky Beyond the Storm
“How am I supposed to take the Pater of Gens Visselia seriously when I know he spends most of his time composing odes to his hounds?” - A Sky Beyond the Storm
“Yes,” I say to his uncertainty. “I want you to stay, Musa.” He lets out a breath.
“Thank the skies,” he says. “I don’t actually like bees very much. Little bastards always sting me. And anyway, you need me around.” - A Sky Beyond the Storm
“I’m not lonely!” A lie, though Musa is too much a gentleman to call me on it.
“But you are alone, Empress.” A shadow passes across his face, and I know he thinks of his wife, Nikla, dead six months now. “As all those in power are alone. You don’t have to be.” - A Sky Beyond the Storm
“It should have been him dancing with you,” Musa says, and at the raw emotion in his voice, my eyes heat.” - A Sky Beyond the Storm
“Alas.” The Scholar spins me in a circle, then pulls me back. “We’re the ones who survived, Empress. Unlucky, perhaps, but that’s our lot. And since we’re here, we might as well live.” - A Sky Beyond the Storm
“Though I was reluctant moments ago, now I find that I want to give in to that exuberant beat. So does Musa. So we laugh and dance again. We eat a dozen moon cakes and chase away the loneliness, two broken people who, for this night, anyway, make a whole.” - A Sky Beyond the Storm

Note
And perhaps Finn Wolfhard returns as Player for a cameo while Zack and Ivy are played by Domnhall Gleeson and Emma Stone (?) also Gal Gadot as maybe an original villain or Saira Bellum.
THIS IS ALL SO PERFECT
I’m screaming
I would love to see an original villain!
These are great ideas! They need to hire you
