I did a cursory research and learned that there is a significant Black Italian community of immigrants from Cameroon, so that's my headcanon for him and his family. This face option is described in the asset files as "Asian". The most significant Asian Italian community is Chinese Italians, but I didn't find a Chinese surname starting with the sound Di that sounded right to me. So I went with the Vietnamese Diệp.

These face options are described in the asset files as "Middle Eastern". The Arabic surname Jamil was a spelling match for Jameson, and this spelling appears to be common in Syria and Iraq. So if they had this surname they could be Syrian or Iraqi.

These face options are described in the asset files as "Asian". The Japanese surname Harada is a spelling match for Harlow but I already used Harada for the LI of Guarded. Also, I keep seeing people comparing the masc face to this one Kpop singer, I forget who, so it gave me the headcanon that these faces are Korean. The Korean surname Han seemed like a pretty solid match for Harlow, and it's also a Chinese surname too so they could be Chinese with this surname. Also I know fem Cas's full name is canonically Cassie but like many others on this internet website I am a Cassandra Harlow truther because I think it sounds better.

These face options are described in the asset files as "Arabic". Mansour was a close Arabic-language sound match to Monroe. This spelling seems to be common across all of North Africa and the Middle East. So I guess they could be from any of those places with that surname.

This face option is descrbed in the asset files as "Asian". Another LI with a surname starting with "Har" which can correspond with the Japanese surname Harada but I already used that and also "Noah Harada" has too many open "A" sounds in a row for my liking. So I just chose a cool sounding Japanese name starting with the letter H because this face option looks Japanese to me.

This face option is described in the asset files as "Hispanic". Lozano was the closest Spanish-language surname I could find to Lawrence. The Spanish form of the first name Lawrence is Lorenzo, but it doesn't appear to be used as a surname like Lawrence is in English-speaking countries.

This face option is described in the asset files as "Hispanic". Couldn't find Spanish-language surnames that start with the same sound as Jennings. If my memory is correct I don't think Spanish has that sound? Jiménez has a lot of the same letters though so? That should work?

My favourites: The Swallows’ Flight (perspicacious and poignant and vividly-written), Return of the Thief (tense, with twists and revelations I didn’t anticipate and a satisfying ending) and “Winter Songs for Summer” in Scattered Showers (the early noughties tech made me nostalgic and Summer’s relationship with music was interesting).

I’d also recommend: Ten Thousand Stitches, Great or Nothing, Fangirl vol. 2, Scattered Showers and If the Shoe Fits.

Cover thoughts: The covers for both The Swallows’ Flight and Great or Nothing are lovely. I like the internal illustrations for Scattered Showers more than its cover. I think I would have read Return of the Thief sooner if its cover were less ominous.

omg so many idk if i can list them all here but first and foremost starplus soap dramas like “kabhi saas bhi bahu thi” “shararat” “kahani ghar ghar ki” “sath nibhana saathiya” (affectionately called gopi bahu wala drama). also Pakistani tv comedies like “annie ki aygi baraat” “kake ki ayegi baraat” “bulbulay” and “quddusi sahab ki bewah”. The urdu dub of a telenovela called “Isabel - meri akhri mohabbat” (El Cuerpo del Deseo). Karan Johan’s early bollywood films like K3G etc.

Pretty much all horror movies but Chucky is good fun, the scary movies trilogy, Rupaul’s drag race seasons 1-9 (AS2 as well) , idk if sam reimi’s spiderman movies count but his horror stuff is pretty campy. I’m gonna watch the adam west batman show but i can already tell i’ll love it.

Thangalaan Movie Review: The film works because of its concept and Pa Ranjith's execution.

 Thangalaan Movie Review Synopsis: THANGALAAN follows the narrative of a brave guy. The year is 1850. Thangalaan (Chiyaan Vikram) is the Veppur village leader, who lives with his wife Gangamma (Parvathy Thiruvothu) and their four children. Despite his position as chief, he is forced to labor as a bonded labourer. The zamindar's (Vettai Muthukumar) soldiers set fire to his farm, destroying his produce. He is unable to pay taxes and is compelled to relinquish his land. This is when Lord Clement (Daniel Caltagirone), a British officer, comes in Veppur. He is looking for gold in a nearby region and asks the Veppur people for assistance because he is aware of their ancestral ability in locating it. Everyone initially refuses, claiming that the gold mine area is filled with ghosts. Thangalaan's great-grandfather, Kaadaiyan (Chiyaan Vikram), was also an expert. Thangalaan agrees, and a few villagers accompany him in the gold-finding mission. Thangalaan, on the other hand, suffers from hallucinations of Aarathi (Malavika Mohanan), a sorceress and defender of the gold field. What occurs next determines the rest of the film.

Thangalaan Movie plot Review:

Pa Ranjith and Tamil Praba's plot is creative and unique. Pa Ranjith and Tamil Praba's screenplay has flaws, but it is thorough, engaging, and addresses some significant subjects. Azhagiya Periyavan's dialogue is crisp. However, the Hindi-dubbed dialogues fall short of expectations.

Pa Ranjith's direction is exceptional. There is no doubt that he is technically proficient. He has previously employed sound, mood, camerawork, and other techniques to create a distinct cinematic experience, and THANGALAAN is no exception. The moment in the pre-climax that transitions from night to day and back again demonstrates his creative ability. He also offers the film a commercial approach while avoiding the common cliches seen in mass entertainment. He does everything his own way. While doing so, he discusses caste atrocities and avarice, which contributes significantly to the picture.

On the other hand, in numerous instances, the film becomes overly weighty and even untidy. There is a lot going on, and the audience may become overwhelmed as they assimilate everything. The film is also quite abstract, and despite commercial components, it is not your standard mass-appeal film. These two reasons would limit the attractiveness.

Thangalaan Movie Review Performances:

Chiyaan Vikram becomes unrecognizable. His change is incredible, and his performance is nothing short of spectacular. He has delivered some outstanding performances, and this is undoubtedly one of his greatest. Parvathy Thiruvothu gets into character and appears to be a poor peasant. She also has a significant role and performs admirably. Malavika Mohanan has a minimal screen time but steals the show. She is an excellent fit for the role. Daniel Caltagirone is amazing. Vettai Muthukumar is barely present. Hari Krishnan (Varada), Preeti Karan (Arasani), Arjun Anbudan (Asoka), and others provide valuable support.

Thangalaan music and technical aspects:

G V Prakash Kumar's music is not chartbuster and may not appeal to the Hindi audience. The film's tracks, including 'Murga Murgi', 'Katai Ghana', 'Koi To Aae Raah Dikhae', and the title song, fail to attract. G V Prakash Kumar's background score is significantly better.

Kishor Kumar's cinematography is stunning. The action in Stunner Sam is a little gory, but it works well for this type of picture. The outfits worn by Aegan Ekambaram and Anitha Sundaresan are not glamorous, but rather realistic and rustic. S S Murthi's art direction is thoroughly researched. Hybrid 360's visual effects are exceptional. Selva R K's editing could have been smoother and faster-paced.

Thangalaan Movie Review Conclusion:

The film's concept, execution by Pa Ranjith, and award-winning performance by Chiyaan Vikram contribute to its overall success. However, this is not your usual mainstream entertainer. As a result, its Hindi adaptation will require strong word-of-mouth from its target population to be successful at the box office.

- To nie chodzi o bycie psychopatą. Każdy powinien podejmować odpowiedzialne decyzje. Moją jest to, że chce się bronić przed a nie po fakcie. Prawo odstrasza, ale nie w każdym momencie może pomóc. Po fakcie pozostaną tylko łzy i żal, że się nie zrobiło więcej.

Zgadzał się, że kary za nielegalne oznaczenie powinny być surowo karane. Nie chciał sobie nawet wyobrażać jak byłby załamany gdyby ktoś obcy go ugryzł zanim zrobiłby to Josh. Czy mógłby się z tym pogodzić? Prawdopodobnie nie, i czułby się cały czas jego niegodzien. Z drugiej strony, jeżeli doszłoby do tego tylko dlatego, że nie miał ochronionej szyi? Wielu ludzi by mówiło, że sam się o to prosił. I pewnie miałby też takie poczucie, że mógłby i powinien zrobić coś więcej aby samemu siebie obronić.

- Uważam, że nie można poświęcać swojego zdrowia dla bezpieczeństwa innych. – spojrzał niezadowolony na partnera, bo tym razem wszyscy pili do tego samego, tylko on nie zauważał, że robił sobie krzywdę.

Mimo wszystko nie chciał ciągnąć dalej tego tematu, bo za chwilę albo będzie awantura albo stypa. Dwie alfy i jedna pomiędzy nimi rozmawiające na temat, w którym mogą się nie zgadzać. Miał więc nadzieję, że ta zmiana tematu na pogodę pomoże. Wydaje się jednak, że wpadł z deszczu pod rynnę.

- Ja? – spojrzał zaskoczony na to pytanie a nie na sam fakt dociskającej się do jego ciała nogi. – Nie. Skądże znowu. Ja pewnie sobie poczekam tutaj na Josha.

I nagle cała akcja zaczęła eskalować i nie miał pojęcia co się działo. Jakiejś dziwne półsłówka, telefony i pokazy. Aż zbladł na to wszystko, bo zdecydowanie nie był człowiekiem, który lubił mieć uwagę skupioną na sobie.
