a part of your story i’m really hyped for!! i want to see cujo and wolf interact, if you’re planning on it! also, seems like zatanna knows what’s up with the GZ due to that ‘thought you’d go for something more purple’ comment, and i’m REALLY excited to see that come to fruition. hope this cheered you up a bit!! there’s so much i’m excited for, but mostly i’m excited to see where you take things. you have a really great perception and in-depth knowledge of the fanon and canon for both YJ and DP, so reading deadly weapons has been great fun.
Aww, thank you!
Now, as for things coming up in Deathly Weapons:
Cujo and Wolf are each planned to have scenes in later chapters and shenanigans will ensue for both, but at present those two particular doggos are unlikely to cross paths. One the other hand, there is a different canine compadre of confusingly similar name, who Wolf may run across as we move towards the late-game.
When it comes to our favourite backwards magic child... Usually I would be tempted to tease with some ambiguous wording about how ~oOoOoh you might be onto something~, but in this case I think I need to walk myself to the stocks and clarify that I dun goofed. Because I am crotchety and not-at-all hip with the youth.
The 'I thought you'd go for something more purple' line in Chapter 16 was actually meant to be Zatanna making a reference to a very old pulp/ newspaper comic superhero. A character called The Phantom, also referred to as "The Ghost Who Walks" and sometimes going by the civilian cover name of "Mister Walker" hence why DW's Phantom responds to her by joking that 'Walker's already taken' - a nod to both him and DP's own ghost-warden Walker has appeared in news-print comics since late 1930's. He actually pre-dates all of the DC comics characters as the first wide-print hero depicted in a skin-tight leotard and white-eyed domino mask. In a way he's sort of a proto-Batman, as well as being one of the earliest legacy heroes. The Phantom still runs as a daily newspaper strip as of 2022, in addition to a handful of comic-book issues released over the years (one of which was done by DC themselves).
The main point, though, is that The Phantom was actually the first "comics superhero" I was ever exposed to, thanks to my Dad's love of catching the weekend comics strips back when print newspapers were still a thing I was a kid, and I didn't realise how niche and obscure he was until I posted that joke and exactly zero people got it. All you really need to know is that his leotard is exceptionally purple.
Sadly that means no dice on Zee currently knowing more about ghosts that she does in canon. However, as mentioned previously, I have been looking to give her a little mini-arc (as sort of an apology gift for her treatment in i terribili sequels) so her not knowing much now doesn't mean she isn't going to end up knowing more later. Watch this space, especially when there are signs of mystical ghosty business afoot.
Tell me about a thing you’re hype for IRL, a part of my story you’re really looking forward to OR send a 🌻 for a flower photo

People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.
For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.
The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.
So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.
Edit: if you are able, use $5 you would otherwise use for a streaming subscription to donate to a GazaFunds campaign.

Exoprimal Open Beta Update
Another Beta is happening for Exoprimal, but it is open to everyone this time. Last year in the summer Capcom blessed a select few to test out a closed beta version twice which was an excellent introduction to the 2023 July release. Now with the Open beta weekend, we are going to recap the experience with new Exosuits and a new mode. Let’s check it out!

I've made my pirate cookie
Meet Captain Albatross Cookie, an infamously vain pirate that likes to flaunt stolen luxury and his impressively large crew that he affectionally refers to as "his flock".
Armed with a dangerous wit and deviousness, he's made quite a name for himself in the Black Sugar Market. A valuable ally to have in any negotiation or despicable plan.
But, when it comes to actual physical fights? He is an absolute coward and would sooner hightail than throw down. Mostly because he is so physically weak it's sad. Which is why he prefers to rely on his canon-fodder "Flock" and allies for muscle.

I've been having a hard time with art this past month (difference in ambition vs skill etcetc) so while struggling with a project I was wishing for something simple to draw, and then (because i'm always thinking about the locked tomb i guess) I was thinking about how funny the discrepancy is between everyone's first impression of the ninth and what's actually going on inside gideon's head. also the whole thing with harrow somehow having more rizz (3 girlfriends!) than gideon. so i made this for my own amusement:

"Okay everyone floor is lava in 10..."
children scatter across the in door park.
"9..."
some leap onto nearby benches. Others climb nearby trees.
"8...7..."
the nearby safe spots become too crowded. Some force their way in while others sprint for the only place with enough room for the remaining few. The water fountain.
"6...5..."
the fountain can hold them all but is far. The slow one's won't make it.
"3...2...1..."
Some of the strong ones carry the slowest. their kindness is their downfall.
"FLOOR IS LAVA!!"
the lava takes them.
"Okay everyone on the ground is out!"
*chorus of groaning*
"So we have, 1, 2, 3...8...11...wait. Everyone hold still for a sec." the human recounts the children. And then again. And again.
"Where's Piper?"
"She was running that way!"
"Yeah towards the field!"
"The field? But there's nothing to climb there.."
"Is the floor still lava!?!"
Out in the field is Piper, sitting on top of her other teacher Kim's shoulders.
"Piper your out, you know the rules. You can't ask someone to carry you when the floor is lava."
"I didn't carry her."
"Kim no fibbing. Kids don't like it when it comes to floor is lava."
"No really I didn't. She climbed me," the woman picks the girl off her and put her down "show them Piper."
The 7 year old smiles and goes behind Kim and then starts to climb. Using the adults calves as a step she boosts her other foot to Kim's hip and then latches onto her neck with her arms. From their she shimmies herself onto her teacher's shoulders. All while Kim keeps her arms to her sides.
"...how long has she been able to do this?"
"Since yesterday."
"That's really cool."
"I know, right?"
.
..
...
"Human Kim I'd like to ask you a question about...human children."
"Yeah sure, go ahead."
"So as you know I am courting Morgan, who has 2 children, and I was wondering if it's normal for them at their age to not be able to climb me or him?"
"Climb you?"
"Yes, like that human child with blonde hair. Harrison is about her age yet he can't climb us like she can climb you."
"...Ohhh, yeah that's not a normal thing."
"Really?? But she does it with such ease and you look so, so, used to it. As if it was normal behavior."
"Piper is incredibly flexible and strong for her age, and while yes I am used to it that's because I'm used to kids climbing me while I'm sitting or helping them."
"So human children do climb their caretakers?"
"Yes."
"But Piper's climbing is not normal?"
"...yes. Wait. Hold on...So human children do climb on their family members but most of them can't climb to an adult's shoulders like that without help. Only a few like Piper are strong enough to do that."
"Ah. So I should not be concerned that Morgan's children can't do that?"
"No, you should not."
"Okay then. Humans are strange."
"That they are!"
