shark! reader would honestly start off quite scared of konig tbh … they’re well aware of what cthulu hybrids and have seen their affects firsthand, the delirious, rabid glint in a victims eyes and the macabre foam that would bubble up past their lips. and not only was konig a hybrid of that species, but the operator of kortac, one who had seen hundred of battles and could snap a man’s neck as naturally as he blinked an eye.

however , being the only two marine hybrids in kortac means they’re both drawn to each other by nature, and furthermore shoved by missions that required time underwater that only you and konig could wrangle.

it’s a slow process. the flick of a tentacle or small swish of a fin that would signal direction or start ambushes had progressed into little inside jokes. konig sometimes acting in place of a remora, using his suckers to help clean off grime or stray corals off your tail. and maybe he isn’t as bad as the eldritch killer you’d made him out to be.

now there’s a heavy tentacle wrapped around your shoulder, and now your fin brushing against the plated guards on his shin feels even more like home than warm tides that held you as a child.

the relationship you eventually get into is a change for the both of you, so civilian compared to the violence and hardness that you were both raised in. learning to use tentacles to hold instead of strangle. sitting on the ocean floor and watching as fish dart around, your tail pulling him a little closer as he leans his head onto your shoulder. tentacles pulling you against konigs chest and strong arms around your waist when your nocturnal instincts go too far out of whack for his preference.

How much of Link/Sidon is just people simping for the shark man and using Link as a self insert for that, and how much does it actually feel like a genuinely well set-up potential romantic pairing? Never had the time to play botw or totk (swamped with schoolwork) so this has always intrigued me.

Asking because you occur as the tumblr user with the most based opinions on these sorts of matters.

On one hand, in general, link as a silent protagonist doesn't have the easiest time developing a rapport with NPCs enough that I could confidently say any of them are "well set up romantic pairings". the vast majority of his characterization outside of how you the player interpret him comes from the memories feature in botw, which is understandably very focused on his relationship to Zelda rather than NPCs he has yet to meet. However. With that said. There's yaoi there for real. Sidon is immediately so obsessed with link he's like omg bestieeee hiiii ^_^ like that shark dude loves him

In totk u go to the zora domain and Sidon has had a statue of link riding on his back put like front and center in the city. Sidon has a fiance in totk but this does nothing to dissuade me because imo Sidon is the kind of guy who doesn't think it's cheating to kiss the homies and I think his fiance seems based enough to agree. He and link are both busy guys so do I see a committed relationship working? Probably not. But does he drop in to lanayru every now and then to swing? Absolutely. I believe this.

What is Traveler Basil?

A silly, laid back OMORI AU where instead of being.. ahem “sent away”, Basil finds himself being tossed around HEADSPACE and taken under the wing of multiple bosses!

What to expect from this blog?

This is mainly just a way to dump all of my doodles and things I’ve made for this AU, since I’m not taking it too too seriously and need a place to put all of the info neatly and organized!! But I think it’d also be fun to do a sort of ask blog thing.. to both have some fun playing around with certain scenarios, and to help myself flesh out the AU, too!
