For eons I have only had a single sona (Pasta) since they kept eating my other sona attempts/overwriting them but last night I was doodling in bed tiredly with a very specific representation of something in mind so say hello to Sieve! He is a sort of secondary sona/counterpart to Pasta, an emotion keeper that has different sides of the cube active depending on what emotions/vibes I currently can feel. Rather than competing for the same mental spot Pasta does they sorta bounce off eachother so here's hopin he'll stay

On the subject of the flecs, according to Justin Michael, Sieve's prime watched alot of cop shows and action movies.
I didn't know that!!! It's been a while since I touched on the flecs, but I like that they gave us some backstory on them.
It definitely explains why he was so theatrical and dramatic. He was literally roleplaying. This is so funny.
This makes the moments where he's confused or not emoting ""correctly"" even funnier. He's panicking like "this isn't what happened in the movies-"

Concept sketch of my changeling Sieve morphing into their much more commonly seen kenku face. Wanted to play a bit with how that might look like, I like to think it's a goopy process.

Farm-Fresh Poached Eggs - Eggs
Make sure you use farm-fresh eggs for perfectly poached eggs. The egg whites on farm-fresh eggs are not watery, which leads to a cleaner looking poached egg.

There's no comment about Mace's life, but one of the writers stated they think Mace believes the world is a horrible place, so he may as well get a thrill out of doing horrible things to others.
Sieve is what happens when people take a limited amount of sources or media and come to the wrong conclusions. He watched cop shows and glorified cops in his mind while having no real references of the harm they do.
Mace is the other end of this. He knows what bad he is doing. He knows he is hurting people. Real people. Maybe he even knows how and why the system is the way it is, but that doesn't matter to him because it's working in his favor.
Sieve had the potential to change, but not the resources. His downfall was not doing his own research or talking to other's and drawing his own conclusions. He was too eager to eat up the story where he could be the hero.
Mace was the type to deny the truth even with unrefutable evidence right in front of him. He lacked empathy.
Sieve showed empathy quite a few times, though in the end his empathy laid with the wrong party. He always had the potential to be a better person. To make the right decision. Sieve is who we are when we do not take action. He is the role that so many people blindly fall into and believe because it's what media tells them.
Mace's backstory doesn't matter because we should not be relating to someone who does not value human life. They cannot be negotiated with. We shouldn't feel for him. If you are like Mace than you are not open to changing your mind or learning.
Sieve is a warning of who we could become.
Mace is a warning that some people choose to be that way.
