The Absurdity of Highschool DxD, Explained (by someone who's watched the show more times than can possibly be healthy)

The whole premise of the plot is that God Is Dead and so the world is sorta in No Rules Mode™. The reason the Three Factions come together is because with God being dead, they risk their domain over Earth being challenged by a third party that just attacks Heaven while they're weak.

To this end, as soon as the peace treaty is signed, the governments of Heaven and Hell suddenly become diplomatic entities with the other Pantheons, mainly because of the threat that the Khaos Brigade represents to EVERYONE with their trippple stacked dummy oatmeal thicc supercombo crossover nyan-powered GI Joe-lookin' ass Marine Marauders type spec-ops black-ops god-killing freak power team setup. Azazel and his Grigori are sorta subsumed under the authority of Sirzechs Lucifer (this use of Lucifer is a title, he's of the Gremory Clan), as the Governor-General is serving as personal mentor to the Heir-Apparent of the Throne of Hell. The non-Grigori Fallen Ones are just sort of treated as an errant and perennial nuisance that Azazel has mostly covered. Katerea, Shalba, and the rest of the Old Satan Faction are dead and the remaining Magicians are scattered. The Powers in the Domain of the God of The Bible (yes that's his canon name) are, at the current state of the canon, essentially a unified entity as far as any other Pantheons are concerned.

We know precisely how God died, too: the legendary dragons Ddraig and Albion. Those motherfuckers went so hard in the paint with each other that God himself became collateral damage.

Heaven's solution to this, of course, was to gang up on the dragons when they were too busy looking at each other and break them—and most of their relatives—up into pieces and seal them in the Sacred Gears. They can't kill them, since the dragons are pretty much on par with God as sort of "Primordial Powers," so this is the next best option. The Scared Gear system, itself a glitch in God's initial creation of mankind, was sort of a band-aid fix for Heaven, though. Humans are, themselves, inferior and limited in their ability to harness the full effect of the Sacred Gears, but the dragons inhabiting these Sacred Gears, the 13 Pieces of Longinus, in particular technically do have the power to Kill God:™. The trade for Heaven was:

PRO: Generally, wielders of Longinus pieces will not be able to make use of the full extent of the power, and the worst ones are essentially fated to kill each other because of this primordial Grudge that exists between many of the dragons. The vast majority of them will be relegated to important figures of human history (Jesus is said to have been a Sacred Gear user, note that what killed him was, within the canon of the story, True Longinus, the literal spear used to kill Jesus in the Bible (commentary on whether this confirms or denies Jesus as the Messiah is a conversation for another day)).

BUT

CON: You have to keep a fucking eye on the humans, though, because humans can Ascend (which occurs at the whims of and according to the rules of the Holy System, which is mostly frozen in the organizational state it was in when God died until the Brave Saints system is devised), be Reborn as Devils, or (very rarely) breed with them and the Fallen Ones and produce Overpowered Humans™ that can indeed pose a very real threat.

So for the most part, the Domain was stable for a millennium or three. However, suddenly, just as each of the Three Factions are barely recovered from the MASSIVE losses they all suffered during the War in Heaven, you have the following things happening in extreme concentration (one borough of the small city of Kuoh, Japan):

Vali Lucifer, last remaining member of the Lucifer Clan (and by corollary, the most valid claimant to the Throne of Hell), is discovered to be the wielder of Divine Dividing (Longinus 6) and therefore the current White Dragon Emperor. He teams up with,

Azazel, Governor-General of the Grigori, who is in the process of hoarding Sacred Gears for the purposes of creating an Artificial Longinus and also killing his most unstable lieutenant, Kokabiel, only to be doublecrossed when,

Bikou (descendant of Sun Wukong and current Moneky King), Kuroka (rogue cat-spirit uber-devil and Hell's Public Enemy #1), Arthur Pendragon (wielder of Holy Sword Caliburn, the Sword in the Stone), Fenrir, LeFay Pendragon (little sister of Arthur and high-powered Magician), and Gogmagog (legendary British Giant) are all working with Vali just as,

Rias Gremory, who is rumored to be just as if not more powerful than her big brother Sirzechs Lucifer, is nearly done completing her peerage, made up of:

Issei Hyoudou, an emotionally unstable and extremely difficult to predict teenager, who is found to be the wielder of Boosted Gear (Longinus 5) and the current Red Dragon Emperor

Asia Argento, recent Church heretic and wielder of Sacred Gear Twilight Healing

After this, Issei beats Riser in front of both families. Extra shocking that he used Megaevolution (some royal/noble families still act like it’s something only they can do and not commoners). Write the fallout/reaction please.

Riser fell to her knees, his eyes widened in absolute horror as he watched his Typhlosion, his strongest Pokémon, his ace, his unbeatable partner... fall. Before the Charizard of a meager peasant! How did this boy know how to mega evolve?! Or even have the tools to do so!?! Riser felt something fill his entire body. Something that he’d never known before and never thought he would experience.

Losing...

Utter defeat made his whole body feel cold and numb, his arms hanging limp at his sides. Riser stared in disbelief, along with the rest of the stadium of people that they were battling in front of, as his opponent jumped up and cheered for his own victory, both hands in the air. His Charizard let out one final triumphant roar as Issei Hyoudou was announced the winner by a dumbfounded official. 

Riser made a small, nervous move to stand back up, but a sideways glare from the terrifying Charizard in front of him made the lord nearly piss himself. He fell backwards off his knees and onto his royal ass, then after a brief moment of being frozen in fear, began to scramble away, begging nobody in particular to keep the Charizard away from him. His hands and legs flailed about, his pristine white pants and red coat getting covered in dirt as he got out of his box and stumbled away towards the arena entrance. The once proud and arrogant lord of the Phenex family embarrassing his family name as he fled the stadium in fear.

Charizard watched the human run, and huffed out a few flames from his nostrils. He was happy he was finally gone, he was incredibly annoying. Charizard turned back around and saw his trainer cheering happily. It was probably the happiest Charizard had ever seen his trainer after a battle. Admittedly, Issei didn’t give the worst instructions, or have the worst ideas. Some of them were just rather unconventional.

…okay they were down right strange sometimes. However, they still won nonetheless he supposed.

That doesn’t mean that he’s going to start listening to everything the pervert said now though. He still had a long way to go before he proved himself ready to really be his trainer.

Issei didn’t notice his Pokémon staring at him, he was too caught up in the sensation of his victory. He didn’t even care that 95 percent of the crowd watching was still stunned silent, and the few that were talking were focused more on freaking out over the absurdity of the situation rather than cheering for Issei. But again, Issei didn’t pay it any mind. 

Nor did he notice the rapidly approaching from behind him. The form that belonged to one very, very excited Rias Gremory. Her bright smile could be seen by anyone actually looking at her, as well as the ecstatic tears rolling down her cheeks. She was sprinting across the dirt floor of the arena, her DD sized chest and crimson hair bouncing with each step as she headed straight for Issei. Said man didn’t even turn to face her until she was only a small stones throw away from him and exclaimed, “ISSEEEEIII!!!!”

Issei, still with a big grin on his face, turned around after hearing his name be screamed out. 

And was immediately met with the greatest thing in the world.

Rias Gremory leaping at him, her arms spread wide before wrapping around his head in a tight hug. The hug was nice, but Issei was more thinking about the fact that her hug also buried his face into her cleavage. A face full of Rias Gremory DD titties was a dream come true for Issei~!

Unfortunately, while giving Issei plenty of future spank bank material, Rias’s flying hug also knocked Issei over. He fell backwards and his back hit the dirt, with Rias landing on top of him. All while the stadium’s crowd that was freaking out around them seemed to get louder.

Issei didn’t care about hitting the ground or the volume of the crowd though. He was in fantasy land with his head shoved between the greatest pair of boobs that he’d ever seen. 

Rias eventually let go of Issei’s head and pushed herself up, propping herself above Issei and looking down at him. "Thank you Issei... Thank you!”

Issei finally snapped back to the world around him and focused on Rias above him. She was crying, but the way she said thank you and elated look in her eyes clued him in on them being happy tears. That, and the bright smile on her lips. A smile that Issei couldn’t help but find infectious, and soon started smiling himself. The two stared into each other’s eyes, lost in the moment where it was just the two of them.

“I must say, that was quite a unique performance.” A moment that was ended as Rias’s father, Zeoticus Gremory, spoke up, having arrived in the arena along with Rias’s family. “I suppose congratulations are in order.” The patriarch of the Gremory family smiled warmly and offered a hand out, or rather down, to Issei since he was still on the ground with Rias.

The two took that as their sign to get up. Rias scrambled off of Issei and stood up, feeling a tad embarrassed that her parents and brother saw her act like that. Issei blinked owlishly three times before hesitantly accepting Zeoticus’s hand, who pulled him up to his feet with surprising ease. “Uuuuh thank you sir.”

“I do believe you are the first individual to win against a member of the Phenex family in quite a few decades. That’s a very impressive feat.”

“Well sir, I couldn’t have done it without your help.” Issei moved his hand to the bracelet on his left wrist, the tool he’d used to beat Riser, and moved to take it off. 

However, Rias’s older brother, Sirzechs Lucifer, raised a hand and spoke, stopping Issei. “Well, we don’t quite know what you mean Mr. Hyoudou. We were impartial to both sides during this Pokémon battle, to both you and Lord Riser. Though, I have to say that was quite the impressive device you pulled out at the beginning. Where did you find it?”

Issei looked at Sirzech very confused. He glanced down at the half taken off bracelet and large gem in it. He looked into his reflection looking back up at him, and thought about the question. The bracelet and necklace on Charizard, as well as the spherical gems placed in them, had been snuck to him a day before his battle with Riser by a woman with white hair who was wearing a maid uniform. She also explained how to use it. Then she’d walked away, taking a small red haired boy with her. The kid had the same type of crimson hair that Rias did, so he thought that they were related, and was proven correct when he saw the same two people sitting with Rias in her family’s spectator’s box.

Glancing back up, he saw Sirzech’s charismatic, knowing smile, and then... a very quick wink. Issei saw Rias’s parents, the maid lady, and the kid also giving him the same kind of smile.

Issei stopped removing the bracelet and tightened it once again on his wrist. “Oh... I just... found it in a store back home while we were traveling... thought it looked cool so I picked it up, and it turned out to be pretty useful.”

Sirzech lowered his hand, his smile growing a small fraction. “Indeed it did.”

Rias watched this all happen. She obviously recognized the band and mega-evolution that Issei used, and she could only stare in shock at her family. They had helped Issei to win against Riser despite all the risk that carried. 

They would have rather had Issei win than Riser. To see her happy, they risked possible war and essentially turned down her marriage with one of the most powerful families of their region. Throwing away the merging of their two families and all the power and influence that would come from it.

 Rias thought she might cry again, but was honestly too happy and shocked to cry anymore. “Father, brother... thank you for everything.”

Her father shrugged and shook his head. “I can’t say that I know what you’re talking about Ria, but I guess you’re welcome.” Zeoticus looked at his daughter once more, seeing her so happy was all he could have asked for in this world, and he was glad he could help that happen. “I’m just glad to see you smiling again. I know you’ve always wanted to explore the world, so I’m at least glad you’ll be able to follow your dream now despite losing your marriage to Riser.” He couldn’t make himself sound the least bit upset about that. 

Rias’s mother, Venelana Gremory, stepped close to her daughter. “Now, before you head back to that region you and your friends were traveling, how about you all spend another day or two back home? It’d be nice to see them all and have some time to catch up after so long.”

Rias pulled her mother into a quick hug and then separated before saying, “That sounds wonderful mother, I’ll ask them if they’ll want to as well.”

Venelana cheerfully smiled back at her daughter and said, “Splendid” before turning to look at Issei, who straightened up as soon as he saw her attention on him and did his best not to look at her amazing rack. “And you are more than welcome in our home anytime Mr. Hyoudou. You’re going to be family now, so I would like to get to know more about you the most. However, the way Rias has talked about you already lets me know that you’ll be a much better husband for her than Lord Riser would have been. All that I ask of you is to please be kind to her and let her be her own person. Always support her and her dreams.”

“Of course ma’am!” Issei responded without even thinking, showing everyone present that was his most honest answer. After they all gave him approving looks is when he finally began to register what she had said to him. “Wait... I’m sorry, but what do you mean by all of that Ms. Rias’s mom? She and I aren’t engaged.”

Venelana just giggled into her hand, while Rias started to blush. Zeoticus rested a hand in his pocket and said, “Well, you battled against Lord Riser to keep him from marrying my daughter, and you were victorious. So she will no longer be marrying him, and instead is now betrothed to you young man.

Issei was about to faint from both shock and blood loss as he felt a lot of it rushing south of the border as his imagination started running wild with what he was just told. Pushing aside the daydream of Rias in a sexy bridal outfit laying on a bed waiting for him, he exclaimed. “Wait WHAT!?!”

“You were battling for her hand in marriage, it only makes sense that you receive it instead of Lord Riser.”

“I-I uhbabah bu-” Issei wasn’t even able to form words at this revelation. The idea that he was now engaged to one of the sexiest women he’d ever seen AND who was also his crush was too much to accept! ‘Rias!’ “B-but Rias doesn’t want to get married! That was the whole point of this! If she didn’t want to marry that Riser guy, then I don’t think she’d want to be with me either! Right Rias?!”

Issei spun to Rias to see how she was taking this news. He was sure she’d be upset at still having to get married. To his complete surprise however, Rias was blushing and smiling while looking at Issei. She looked... very pleased actually... very, very pleased. 

As Issei was about to try to speak again, Rias rushed forward and captured Issei’s open mouth in a deep kiss. Her soft lips pressed against his as her arms wrapped back around his neck, much gentler this time. She leaned in and closed her eyes, Issei doing the same despite his shock, and melted into her kiss with Issei.

Question, because I'm like,, not sure on it within the series. When people get their own evil pieces, are they still considered to be in another's peerage? Like, Issei got his own peerage, but is he still considered to be in Rias' peerage? Same for Xenovia having her own peerage but still being in Issei's, etc

More or less, there's a lot more technicalities involved in universe, but yes, legally speaking, in the Underworld, you are still considered dependant, and largely subservient, to the original King's Peerage from which you hail.

This however, does not mean you cannot take said King to court over the technicalities and demand to be made independent, granted it's a very lengthy process, and one of the only people who has actually succeeded doesn't actually have a Peerage to care for. Just two daughters who were in suspicion of being the children of a Satan, (and that is still up for debate, because Rivali and Sirzechs were formally engaged before the Underworld Civil War, and Rivali's daughters have been fully grown since a couple decades afterwords), and Serafall's integrity was kind of being questioned...

Anyway, the current legal matters are as follows.

Amon V.S. Leviathan ending in Amon's favor, mainly for the fact that Serafall was incredibly willing during the proceedings.

Kamiris & Zepar V.S. Kamiris because Lord Kamiris was enough an asshole to make his own daughter his Pawn and demand all the rights that comes with the position, which means complete and utter control over her choice in martial partners. Nacht is a good match, both romantically and politically, Lord Kamiris is just being petty at this point. Diodora may or may not be fabricating/actually finding incredibly damning evidence for Zepar & Kamiris, mostly because he doesn't think he could take Mirai's puppy eyes otherwise, or the literal Grand Treason that would follow shortly thereafter.

Prioux V.S. Astaroth unfortunately this proceeding isn't being picked up by anyone due to the implications of going against a Satan's younger brother. Adriel is STILL trying to push it through.

Jun’ichi Suwabe is a Japanese voice actor affiliated with Haikyo. His popular roles include Keigo Atobe in The Prince of Tennis, Victor Nikiforov in YURI!!! on Ice, Grimmjow Jaegerjaques in Bleach,Archer in Fate/stay night, Ren Jinguji in Uta no Prince-sama, Undertaker in Black Butler, Daiki Aomine in Kuroko’s Basketball, Takashi Komuro in Highschool of the Dead and Dandy in Space Dandy.

As his name implies, he is a very avaricious character, who likes living in luxury, surrounded by powerful minions and beautiful women. He also has a habit of flipping people off in the manga. Sirzechs Lucifer, formerly known as Sirzechs Gremory, was the Satan Lucifer who was in charge of Domestic Affairs, prior to the events of 666. He is the former heir to the Gremory Clan and is the father of Millicas Gremory, the only son and eldest child of Zeoticus and Venelana Gremory, the older brother of Rias Gremory, and the husband of GrayfIa Lucifuge. Known as the Crimson Satan, he is the former leader of the Four Great Satans who ruled theUnderworld with the title of “Lucifer”.

3 ) Takashi Komuro ( High School of The Dead )

Takashi Komuro  is the main protagonist of the series. He is a high school second-year and the leader of the main group of survivors from Fujimi Academy. He is a childhood friend of both Saya Takagi andRei Miyamoto and while he has strong feelings of love for Rei, he also shares feelings for Saeko Busujima. Takashi is a pretty decent melee fighter, also skilled with firearms because of Kohta Hirano’s tutoring. He is also shown to have good leadership skills, which often hold his group together in dire situations.

2 ) Vergo ( One Piece )

“Demon Bamboo” Vergo was one of the four elite officers and the first to occupy the Heart seat of the Donquixote Pirates under the code name Corazon. He was a Marine vice admiral, and head of G-5, who made his debut at Punk Hazard. Due to his duplicitous conduct and allegiances, he can be considered the secondary antagonist of the Punk Hazard Arc.

Kay so I've been re watching the dxd series and reading up on the different character and the Grayfia and Sirzechs relationship has me in awe because it's EXACTLY like a Romeo and Juliet story but happier and I know we've gotten a ton of those but we don't see enough of Zechs OR Gray. Their past has only been HINTED at in the anime and while it would be nice to see an arc dedicated to them I kind of want a series about not only their relationship but other things involving the Gremory family as well because there was this big rift between the anti Satan and Satan factions involving Ophis and the Chaos Brigade. Idk it's be nice. Plus it'll give us a younger, inexperienced Rias forming her household. Just a thought. Sorry for the long post.
