I don't usually post stuff like this, but after seeing the new Sora-AI they unveiled earlier - I am not a fan.

There is so much that could go wrong with shit like that, especially as it gets 'better.' Legal ramifications, faked videos, etc.

Not even mentioning the careers, handmade animations, handmade art, all that shit that this is influencing even by proxy. Speaking as someone who intends to have a career in a creative field, such as VFX work, this is scary stuff.

I don't support this in any way, and neither will I support any other AI.

Sooo, ai can make videos and animations, now. And I have only one thing to say...

Notice how the first targets of ai were arts. All kinds of them. Music, drawing/paintings, voice acting, and now, animations.

Notice how the job of being an artist is the first one they are willing to replace with robots and not the unhealthy, life risking, mind draining ass jobs that could literally kill a person.

You wanna know why? Because capitalism kills art. Art is one of capitalism's #1 enemy, along with knowledge. Art is a poetic way of communication. Through art you can protest, put your thoughts, spread information, show support. You can't make money out of that.

And when you can't make money out of something successfully, well, you devalue it. “Give up on this art career of yours, it won't get you any money!” “Why not choose medicine, it could get you rich.”

And now they're using ai. They're using robots, to finally finish the job, and get more people exploited under the sun.

Because that's what capitalism is about. Murder. Of dreams, of happiness, of human lifes.

Capitalism is murder. But that's just my opinion...

So can we all agree Sora AI is a safety hazard? Since AI generated images first became more realistic and saw all the NSFW stuff I went “oh god this is going to be bad for women” like we can’t trace the origins of the images. Were they taken from porn actors who consented to their work being made or teens who were trafficked?

And now with Sora. Peoples lives are at danger. The amount of people who will become victims of harassment online and irl will grow by a ton.

Sora won’t only affect people who work in the sex industry. Imagine the inhuman perverts who will use it on minors, women who dress modestly for religious reasons, on their own damn relatives, and on famous people they just can’t stand

Oh wait. Two of these have already happened.

I don’t know how to end this in anything but that if you actively produce ai generated porn. You’re a piece of shit who doesn’t even deserve a tombstone.

-Harmful fake videos could be spread among people to create fear and manipulation

-Similar to videos, fake drawings could be spread.

Art is supposed to be human expression, not some fake Ai bullshit. If Ai continues to have such a quick and impressive advance, it could be seriously fucking bad. Life could quickly turn into a black mirror episode, and that's not fucking good, at all.

These high quality/ freakishly realistic videos can cause harm in SO many ways.

AI art won’t take away the time I drew a bevy of farm animals for a little girl sitting in front of me on a plane, to distract her from her ears popping painfully. It can’t steal the smile that I put on her and her parents’ faces.

AI needs electricity, and advanced technology that steals from actual artists (and other AI “art” which hopefully poisons its own wells) —All I need is something to mark with and something to mark on.

Sora AI can be used in a myriad of ways to destroy lives and what you want to bet that nobody in charge gets arrested?

I freaking hate OpenAI Sora.   

Am I pissed off? Yeah.  There are several talented artists, animators, and cinematographers whose jobs could be at stake in the near future because a fucking computer is gaining the ability to generate VERY realistic videos using stolen content.

But I’m more than pissed off; I’m terrified.  Terrified because it can be used as a means to frame someone, and terrified because of the potential for propaganda.  Sure, now you can look at an image or video and say “that flag doesn’t look right” or “what is up with that person’s hands?”, but in a few years, that may not be the case.
