In the grand scheme of things, 2023 has been an exhilarating and wonderfully chaotic journey that I'm sure I'll fondly remember. ✨

Far from being a tough year, it turned out to be quite remarkable for me. I achieved a bunch of things I never imagined, ventured into uncharted territories, wrote Ooeshots/fanfics I never thought would come to my head, and created a plethora of mood boards—a hobby I find truly enjoyable.

The only reason why I began to do this whole 'reflection post thingy.' is because I was inspired by many others here on Tumblr who were taking their time to reflect on the passing year and their accomplishments.

I decided to give it a try, and now, I think I will make this a personal tradition.

Each year, I'll document my successes, reminisce about what I've done and achieved, and immortalize it all in writing for my own reflection.

do you think a big bang is possible to be run by only one mod? or do you think a large part of the r/s big bang's success was that there were multiple mods working together?

hi there! thank you for your question :) i think i can speak for all the mods when i say that one of the best parts of the fest for us was getting the chance to work together as a team on the whole thing. a big bang is a MASSIVE undertaking -- the fest took up our entire year, and will continue to do so as long as we keep running it! it's unrealistic to expect one person to be available 24/7 for a whole year, so it's helpful to have a couple of people, ideally across some different timezones as well.

there were aspects of the fest (wrangling signups, artist pairing, beta pairing, running a discord with so many people in it, etc) that took hours and hours of work on the parts of multiple mods. that's a lot for just one person, especially if you have a full-time job or are in school, which applies to all four of us! also, different people have different strengths, so it's nice to be able to split the responsibilities along those lines as well.

so, could you run a big bang with just one person? maybe! but it would likely be very stressful, even if it's for a smaller fandom than remus/sirius. and you'd miss out on my favorite part, the mod relationships you make along the way! what was it mary kate and ashley said? the best part is getting there?

Thinking that's the only way you can "help people" when you know damn well there's many more opportunities and positions that actually help people (even incorporating your art into it), but instead choosing the very thing that's suppressing us while throwing away your hard work/passions. Fuck you. If you're going to chalk up the horrors that are happening as "fake news/online garbage" or "dumb people recording cops and wondering why they're getting arrested", you're already too far gone.
