53. Chaeyoung x Reader
•Her Rainbow Top•
Tumblr media
Your footsteps echoed behind you as you walked through the empty hallway, fingers sliding against the cold metal lockers, Fleetwood Mack flowing through your headphones as your thoughts wandered freely.
The only reason you were at school on a Monday morning was to not cause any more stress to your already unstable mom, but there was no way in hell someone could make you actually go in class during first period, especially because you had AP chemistry.
The bathroom door creaked loudly as you entered, the smile on your face unavoidable when the first thing that greeted you was Son Chaeyoung kneeling in front of one of the stalls with a black permanent marker in her hand, busy sketching some sort of alien creature on the door.
“What are you doing here?”
The girl abruptly dragged the pen against the door in shock, her eyes widening before she realized it was only you, dimples showing, her eyes seemed to gleam,
“I really, really dislike chemistry”
Her blonde hair fell along her face, it was safe to say you and Chaeyoung weren’t friends, more like acquaintances, to be honest you only had a very small and exclusive group of friends at school but every encounter you had had with the girl in front of you for some reason had left you with butterflies in your stomach.
Kneeling down next to her you examined her little piece of art carefully, unknowing of how the other girl’s heart had sped up at the close distance, “You’re very talented.”
Her cheeks turned a dark shade of red at your words, her reply getting cut off due to the bell ringing, and as you both got to your feet you couldn’t help but check out her outfit, realizing once again how completely opposite you both were, her attention catching multicolored sweater against your plain black bomber jacket, her creative spirit and extrovert personality clashing with your much more secretive one, everybody at school knew Chaeyoung, she had countless friends and boys following her down the hallways, while on the other hand you just always hung out with Kai and Jennie, nobody else at school had ever joined your friend circle in fact people had the tendency to steer away from your infamous trio.
“Are you going to Bam Bam‘s party Friday?”
Her sweet fragrance swept passed you as you held the door open for her, getting a few curios glances from other students,
“Maybe, if I feel like it.”
Blowing a strand of hair out of her face she smiled widely,
“I sure hope you’ll feel like it then.”
A girl with cute bunny teeth whose name you couldn’t remember ran up to her, eyeing you suspiciously before grabbing Chaeyoung’s arm and pulling her away with her as you stood still, kids around you parting to avoid bumping into you.
“If you and Kai aren’t to busy fucking we could go out this weekend.”
You grabbed a fry and twirled it around mindlessly as your other hand played with Jennie’s fishnets, the girl taking a long drag of her cigarette before throwing it to the ground, brown eyes staring curiously at you,
“Don’t be jealous Y/N, you know you and I can still fuck whenever.”
It was safe to say you had a particular bond with Jennie, you had even had a short fling a while back but then realized that you were really better off as friends, that didn’t mean though that you couldn’t be there for eachother when you needed some more intimate company, the affection you felt towards Jennie and Kai was so strong, you knew you had found some friends for life.
A familiar hand slammed on your back, your fry falling on the floor, you turned around with an angry gaze to face your other best friend, a dopey smile on his face that you knew by now meant he had just had some fun,
“Of course we’re going to Bam Bam’s party, I have some very important business to attend there.”
Sitting down next to you he grabbed your tray dragging it towards him noisily across the metal table and digging into your lunch, eyeing him with slight disgust you rested your head on Jennie’s shoulder,
“I hope you washed your hands Kai.”
Some random radio station crackled through the speakers in your car, with the heating on blast you focused on rolling your cigarette, tobacco resting on your steering wheel, your thoughts wondering and every once in a while landing on Chaeyoung, you were on your third cigarette when the passenger door finally opened, Jennie jumping in, cheeks red from the cold, the heavy makeup on her face probably the reason for her fifteen minutes of tardiness.
“Can you believe it’s actually snowing?”
Lifting your eyes from your rolling you noticed the big snowflakes falling down in the night, smililng slightly at a thought that occurred, “You know what they say about watching the first snow together...”
The light punch on your arm was enough of an answer, so you put your tobacco and cigarettes in your fanny pack and you chucked it in the back seat, “I see you’re liking your birthday present.”
Your hands twisted the keys, starting the car as you leaned over and pressed a light kiss to your best friend’s cheek, “I love it, and you look stunning by the way.”
Turning her face towards the window she tried to hide the blush that was creeping on her cheeks.
She stayed in that position the whole drive while you complained about having been nominated designated driver for the evening, even when you already knew Jennie would disappear half way through the night and Kai had the tendency to take his business elsewhere when things started to get messy.
Luckily ,you managed to find a parking spot on the street of Bam Bam’s house, recognizable thanks to the loud music and constant stream of teenagers going in and out, you soon regretted having even stepped outside of your home, big gatherings of this sort weren’t really your thing, you didn’t like most of the people that went and everyone seemed to get black out drunk for absolutely no reason, but you reminded yourself that Chaeyoung was going to be present, and that was good enough of a reason to wrap your arm around Jennie and make your way to the huge house as the snow kept falling around you.
Making your way in you realized that the party was already in full flow, the air reeked of drunk teenagers in your opinion but Jennie just laughed it off, somehow she already had a drink in her hand, you ignored the stares as you made your way around, Jennie pulled you closer and let you know she had someone to see, before placing a light kiss under your ear and disappearing into the crowd.
Already feeling fed up you made your way to the back garden, the only people around were a few couples getting up to no good in the dark and a group of potheads passing a joint to eachother on the steps, making your way back inside you almost fell to the ground as your feet collided with something on the floor, as you looked down flustered you realized that what was on the ground was actually a someone. Kneeling down so you could look the guy in the eyes you realized he was still kind of conscious, “Are you okay man?”
Before he could answer a familiar voice filled the air, “Here’s my favorite girl!”
Kai was by your side in a second, his foot playfully tapping the poor boy on the ground a couple of times before pulling you to your feet and wrapping his strong arms around you, by the smell you could clearly tell he was high out of his mind,
“I’m so thirsty Y/N, oh and by the way I’m not going to need a lift home.”
Rolling your eyes at him you grabbed his hand and led him inside on a quest to find some water.
As you made your way through the sweaty crowd of hormonal teenagers your eyes landed on a familiar figure, the first thing you noticed was her super cute rainbow top, the second thing was a guy coming up to her and whispering something in her ear, as you started making your way towards Chaeyoung a strange feeling rose in the pit of your stomach when she leaned against the bulky guy, almost as if she couldn’t even stand, he wrapped an arm around her waist and started leading her away.
You managed to reach the couple just as they got to the staircase, yanking on the boy’s shoulder, anger cursing through your veins,
“What do you think you’re doing man?”
Shaking you off him he kissed his teeth at you and turned around, as Chaeyoung pushed against him, grabbing the guy by the collar of his white shirt you turned him around one more time before shoving him hard against the railing of the stairs,
“She’s so drunk she can barely stand you idiot, now get the fuck away from her you disgusting pig.”
your anger seemed to get the best of you as you spat venom at the stranger in front of you, while trying to calm your nerves you grabbed the drunken girl by the wrist before pulling her behind you, your head filled with all the possible scenarios of what would have happend if you hadn’t intervened, and you felt so disgusted that bile rose up your throat, without even noticing the fire in his angry eyes you pulled your fist back before slamming it in his face, just below his eye.
Before he could even retaliate a tall figure stepped in front of you, Kai looking at you in pure worry before grabbing the guy and throwing him to the ground like a dead weight,
“Get her out of here and I’ll deal with this idiot.”
Wrapping a supportive arm around Chaeyoung’s waist you made your way outside, ignoring the curios stares and cursing at a few drunken teens, opening the passenger door for the drunken girl you helped her inside as your fingers trembled due to the sudden adrenaline rush.
Slamming the door shut you felt so many emotions piling up inside you, not knowing how to correctly deal with it you just started kicking the wheel of your car, heart beating fast in your chest you kept going until you struggled to breathe, as you rested your hand on the snow covered hood you felt a sharp sting, your knuckles were a glaring red and they had already started swelling.
You hopped into the car, sighing loudly as you let your head fall on the steering wheel, your aching hand reaching blindly for one of Chaeyoung’s, her tight grip reassuring you slightly.
The girl next you in the meantime seemed to have sobered up considerably, and as you were going through your mini breakdown outside she had gathered her thoughts, immediately regretting getting absolutely plastered for no reason at all, she had taken a few deep breathes to calm down, so as she sat in the car holding your jittery hand between hers she couldn’t help but be shocked at how upset you seemed, moving one of her hands to the back of your head, her fingers gently played with your soft baby hairs as she knew how much it helped her calm down, even though her heart was beating faster than ever,
“I’m fine Y/N.”
Those soft words seemed to echo through your head as you slowly started to calm down, lifting your head to look into her cute worried eyes, “I just... I was so scared, I don’t ever want anyone to hurt you.”
The clear vulnerability in your voice caught Chaeyoung by surprise, finally she started realizing how much you actually cared as she pulled you in for a hug, she had fantasized about sharing a moment like this with you many times, but it had never occurred to her that she would be the one holding you tight.
Breathing in your sweet perfume the younger girl whispered a small thank you in your ear, as you regained your composure and turned the keys in the ignition, “Are you okay spending the night at my place tonight?”
You got an excited nod and the cutest dimpled smile in return, and with the snow still falling outside you made your way back home, Chaeyoung’s pretty voice filling the car as she hummed along softly to the songs on the radio. The thoughts in your mind gradually calming from a raging storm to a light shower, the girl sitting next to you didn’t seem to be so upset about what had happened back there and yet every time you thought about it the blood started boiling in your veins and your grip tightened around the steering wheel, you didn’t even know her that well but somehow you were ready to knock a guy out for her and that scared the shit out of you.
“I’m starving.”
Chuckling lightly at her words you put your indicators on as a 24 hour hour McDonald’s came into view.
An hour later you were sitting on your bed with Chaeyoung laying next to you, head resting on your thighs as she finished up her last fries, you had somehow managed to style two buns on top of her head and now she looked cuter than ever, wearing your soft green sweater and some random old gym shorts that were laying around in your closet.
“Kai just texted me.”
Propping herself onto her elbows she stared at you, an inquisitive look in her chocolate eyes, “The guy from the party is not gonna be seen around for a little while.”
Her eyebrows scrunched at your words, she hated violence, but she decided to not say anything and just nod silently for once, to be honest she just couldn’t believe she was sharing this moment with you, her crush since the beginning of the school year, “I think we should go to bed.”
Your whispered words interrupted her thoughts and her brain stopped working all together when you found yourself laying both on your sides, face to face, in the same bed, your smooth legs somehow had tangled with her own and she struggled to breathe as she felt your head slightly inch closer to you,
“When I saw that guy trying to take you upstairs back then Chaeyoung, I swear I saw red.”
Her heart started leaping in her chest as your index finger slowly traced the outline of her face in the dark.
If her brain had stopped working earlier, now her heart was about to overheat as she tried her hardest to breathe steadily, as if you wanted her to fail miserably you went for it, it took quite a bit of courage but you just had to, your lips fitting perfectly with hers as a a burning sensation spread throughout Chaeyoung’s body as she tried to savor the taste of your kiss by slowly responding to your touch and following your lead.
Pulling apart to breathe she tried to asses the situation but her brain still wouldn’t connect to her mouth as she blurted out the words that made your heart melt,
“I really like you if you hadn’t noticed Y/N.”

[ ☢ ] the car broke down in an unfamiliar part of town, and our muses are lost.
The stinging of Luna’s arms and legs were becoming unbearable. Standing outside in the searing sun was not a part of her plans nor was it to be stuck in a random part of England all day. Luna hadn’t really known what hot was until today. When the hell did England get so hot anyway? Sweat adorned her figure from head to toe. Her long dark tresses stuck to her face and neck intolerably. Her were feet slightly swollen from walking around all day. Luna couldn’t quite comprehend how Prince managed to have the same symptoms as her but he looked a hundred times better. Luna was miserable, but she couldn’t complain (yet at the same time she could) when the most attractive man in whatever town they were in was right next to her even as annoyed as they both were. The sun hung low in the sky, sunset upon them. “Prince, we don’t know where the fuck we are. It’s getting dark. We’ve been walking around all day. I am sweating in places that I have never sweat before. Can we just go back to the car and risk being murdered by some fucking weirdo?” She asked after grabbing his hand to get his attention. The tension between them had been boiling all day with their usual snide comments intensified by the heat. Luna tried to hide her annoyance but her words were charged, and Prince was ready for them with words of his own. Usually, Luna wouldn’t have argued in the middle of the street, but she didn’t know any of these people so anger spilled out of her as they made their way back to his janky car. “I hate you so fucking much,” She mumbled, attempting to open the car door. It had only been opened an inch before it was slammed closed by her wonderful boyfriend. “What the hell is your problem?” Except Luna knew exactly what his problem was. Anytime she said those three words, it sent Prince over the edge. His reaction was almost frightening. Her body was trapped between Prince and the incredibly hot metal of his car. He lowered himself to look her in her eyes to question what she said, but she couldn’t bring herself to challenge him. Instead, she focused on the way his muscles tensed when he was angry. How ridiculously good he looked in his shirt. How ridiculously good he looked this whole day. The sun was down but she could feel herself growing hotter. Enveloped in the heat of the moment, Luna couldn’t stop the words spilling out of her mouth. “Who cares? Fuck me.” The Spaniard didn’t even wait for his response. Her lips were on his in an instant, her nails digging into his back in an attempt to pull him closer to her. Luna didn’t care about how sweaty and gross they both were — she needed him. Maybe the day wasn’t so bad if it ended in hot car sex.

Iola was so excited when she finally convinced Jason to take her to Scotland. They had spent most of their time in the city she grew up in and loved so much, and she really wanted to experience the same thing with Jason. They were on their way to Glasglow when their car slowed to a stop. Iola cursed under her breath, telling herself that the rental car place was going to get a piece of her mind when they finally reach their destination. The place where they stopped was rather busy — streams of people walking down the sidewalk and cars lining the streets. Iola joined her boyfriend in front of the car and closed the hood so he could focus on her. “We can find someone to fix the car while we enjoy the beautiful scenery of this random city or whatever they’re called here. There’s no reason to waste such a beautiful day stressed,” she smiled before taking Jason’s hand. It was nearly impossible for Jason and Iola to have a bad time when they were together. The couple could be stuck in the worst situation imaginable, and they would somehow find a way to make it bearable. Being stuck in a random town was barely an obstacle for them. There were so many cute shops. The architecture was beautiful. The sights were breathtaking. Iola would’ve been pissed at herself if they didn’t see any of this. She dug her toes in the cool grass at the park as she basked in the sunlight. “Wouldn’t you have been pissed if we sat around moping?” With her shoes in her hand, she spun around to face her boyfriend. She thought Jason looked so handsome while he watched her frolic around the green pasture. He had warned her before that Scotland was nothing but fields but clearly she didn’t mind it. It was a change from fast pace Chicago and LA, and Iola loved it. She plopped down next to Jason, resting her head on his lap. “I can’t believe you wanted to keep this place from me. Totally not cool,” Iola attempted to say in a Scottish accent but failed miserably.

Arianna and Zayn had only been dating for a couple of months when they decided they wanted to get away from everyone. There was so much drama going on in the house that they stuck to either one of their rooms anyway, so why not just ditch the show altogether for a little while? They had decided to drive to San Diego since it wasn’t too far from Los Angeles, but their car had stopped mid-drive. The two Brits had no idea where they were. Maybe they were somewhere in Anaheim? Who knew. Arianna couldn’t stop laughing as she and Zayn reminisced about everything. The moment they met, the moment they had sex for the first time, the moment Arianna could actually tolerate being around Zayn after he totally threw her under the bus for the sex thing —everything. They had already called Triple A, so they had nothing else to do. “I remember when I admitted I had a crush on you. I really put my foot in my mouth that day, but I still mean what I said. They’re all idiots for not wanting you. I should thank them, though, so thank you, idiots,” Arianna giggled, pulling her boyfriend in for a kiss. They spent the rest of their day in the car blasting music from their phones and singing along, dancing in their restrictive seats, and laughing about anything that could come to their mind until they were rescued.
[ ⌚ ] my muse recalls their favorite memory with your muse.
⊰ v. princess and the moon ⊱
The darkness of the night surrounded Luna and Prince, a cool breeze wrapping itself around Luna’s barely dressed figure. It seemed a bit stupid to be sitting outside at the cusp of midnight when her dress barely went past her ass and her jacket was only there for fashion purposes, but nighttime seemed to be the only time of the day Luna and Prince were able to tolerate each other. Maybe it was the illusion of privacy that made them more comfortable around each other like no one else was watching them so they could indulge in their true feelings for one another. Her arms were wrapped tightly around her frame to preserve whatever body heat she had left, but it was no use. Her teeth were chattering loudly which happened to be the only noise filling the silence between them. Prince did make a comment about her going out half dressed but Luna just shook her head. “Less for you to take off,” the brunette pointed out nonchalantly. “Or is the problem that it’s less for other guys to imagine to take off?” She teases with a brow raise, Prince rolls his eyes. “The problem is that you’re fucking cold.” His words cause her to chuckle. The two of them finally reach his car and Prince opens the door for her to Luna’s surprise. Eventually, they’re sat in front of Luna’s flat with the radio filling, yet again, the silence between them, but that left Luna with her thoughts. She and Prince clearly had feelings for each other yet they were going absolutely nowhere. They still hadn’t defined whatever they were and anytime Luna brought it up he got defensive and changed the subject. “Prince,” she spoke softly. “What are we? And I don’t want some bullshit answer. I want to know how you feel about me.” Her words were quiet to match the atmosphere. Luna turned her body to face him, folding her legs underneath her as she waited for his response. And wait is what he made her do. Prince, in typical Prince fashion, ignored her while he finished his cigarette. After about 5 minutes, Luna felt triumphant. Why the hell did she think getting involved with her arch nemesis was remotely a good idea? Maybe he was doing all of this to fuck with her. He didn’t really like her and all of this was apart of some plan to humiliate her. The Spaniard wasn’t much of a crier —the only time being at her mother’s funeral — but as she slumped against her seat, she couldn’t quite help the tears welling up in her eyes because, fuck, she loved him. “Forget it,” she mumbled, turning to get out of the car but he stopped her. Their eyes locked — hers glistening from the tears that had yet to fall.
“Luna? Luna!” Cass’s voice called out, snapping Luna back to reality. She turned to her best friend with a smile at the sight of her in her bridesmaid dress. “Cass, you look so beautiful, oh my god!” Luna tried to shake her head of the memory that suddenly came back to her to focus on the fact that she was 10 minutes away from getting married, but she couldn’t quite get it out of her head. It was her favorite memory of Prince. Yeah, she had been about to cry, but it was the first time Prince admitted his feelings. Not drunk, not high, not angrily, but looking Luna in her eyes and telling her how he felt. It was one of their most intimate and vulnerable moments. If it had never happened who knows if they would be here today.
Luna attempted to blink her tears away at his words, but they refused to go away for a much different reason. She was relieved, happy. “Do you really mean that, Prince? Or are you going to take it all back tomorrow and pretend you never said it?” She wasn’t given much of a verbal response. Instead, Prince brought her face to his, reassuring her that he meant everything he said and kissed her.
⊰ v. no reason ⊱
Iola checked out her figure in the mirror again. She didn’t know if this dress was the right one for their anniversary. The blonde had already decided the last nine didn’t make the cut, but she didn’t know if she should make it ten and make them any later for their date than they already were. “Babe, what do you think of this one?” Jason was obviously going to tell her that she looked amazing in anything she put on, so she decided to stick with the dress she had on to get a move on it. This was their fifth anniversary together, and Iola was extremely happy because it meant she was half-way there to marrying the love of her life. His dumb not-marrying-Iola-until-she-was-26 rule was the bane of her existence, but if that was what he wanted then she had no choice than to accept it. They were sat at dinner, laughing and reminiscing about all of their times together. It was amazing to think about the fact Iola had been with the same guy since was 16. Most people assumed that they were both too young to commit to each other, but Iola knew that there was no one else in the world for her than the man sitting in front of her. “My favorite memory of us that’s not when you finally slept with me?” She asked before thinking back to her favorite memory.
Iola had spent months trying to find the perfect prom dress — practically the whole school year. Prom was a big deal in every American girl’s life, and it had to be perfect. She knew that Jason was going to be her date, so she wanted to wear something that would blow him away. All Iola wanted to do was impress Jason whenever she had the chance, and this was her big moment. She knew he felt weird about going to a high school dance, but the fact that he was still willing to be her date made her happy. She just wanted to return the favor. “How do I look?” Iola asked her mom as she walked out in her dress. Her long blonde tresses were dressed in curls as they cascaded over her shoulders. Iola didn’t have much time to admire herself when she heard the doorbell, suddenly feeling extremely nervous. Her hands were shaky as she exited her bedroom. Iola, he’s your boyfriend. Why are you so nervous? she tried to assure herself, but when her eyes landed her boyfriend she got all the more nervous. He looked dashing in his suit. Iola wondered to herself how she got so lucky. She honestly couldn’t get down those stairs fast enough to Jason. “You look amazing, babe,” she said in awe. They did the typical prom stuff: putting on the corsage and boutonniere, taking pictures, and bidding her family adieu. Her cheeks were a bright red by the time they reached the dance from all of the compliments Jason wouldn’t stop giving her. “You flatter me too much, honey,” Iola giggled as they walked into the venue. The night was going well. Iola and her friends were chatting about graduation and college, taking pictures, and dancing. Her friends were suggestive because they knew Iola was still a virgin, and it was the stereotypical thing to lose your virginity on Prom night. Iola chose to ignore her friends. They were horny teenagers, but Iola was in love. She was willing to wait for Jason if that’s what he wanted to do. There was no rush for her anymore since she was 18 and there was no more changing his mind about it. Now it was all about when it was the right time. “Will the most wonderful guy in the world dance with me to this painfully slow song?” The blonde asked, holding out her manicured hand for him to take. Her green hues were filled with contentment and love as she swayed to the music with Jason. “Thank you for coming with me tonight. I know that it must be weird, so I am really thankful that you’re here. I love you.” She kissed him softly before resting her head on his shoulder, spending the rest of the night having fun with Jason.

Arianna had taken a trip by herself to gather her thoughts. She just needed to get away from everything. Ari couldn’t stand sitting in her home anymore. It was a big house but she often felt alone in it. Zayn was home yet he wasn’t really. It was the same for her, so she needed to get away to clear her head. Ari attempted to focus on the book in her hand but her mind couldn’t stop racing. Throwing it to the side, she opted to take a walk on the beach instead. She couldn’t stop thinking about her fiancé and all of the good times they had before their son died. A slight smile tugged at her lips when she thought about the day she had told him she was pregnant. They were both so happy at the thought that they’d be starting their own family especially Arianna.
Ari’s leg bounced up and down nervously as she waited for Zayn to come home. How was she supposed to tell him? Should she go romantic? Classic? Random? She hadn’t really thought it through since she had only found out a couple days ago. The only person who knew was Serenity. It was actually quite funny because the day she found out, his brother had told her that she was going to find out that she was pregnant then. She chuckled to herself but looked towards the door once she heard the door open. Arianna greeted her fiancé with a kiss, a smile never leaving her face. They started their conversation as usual, but Arianna knew she had to just come out and tell him. “I have a question,” the blonde says nonchalantly. “Are you still opposed to the name Starburst? Because hear me out. Imagine holding a small baby child and it’s having sweet baby dreams. I don’t know about you, but what I’m picturing in my head looks like a Starburst.” Obviously, Zayn was against the name that Arianna always joked about naming her first kid. He told her that they were setting their future kid up for failure and that only made her chuckle. “I don’t think eight months is that far into the future,” she muttered, her eyes gaging for his reaction. It took him a while to catch on to what she was saying but by the time he fully grasped what she was saying, Arianna’s smile reached her eyes. “Yeah, I’m really pregnant!” She was swept into her fiancé’s arms, their laughter flooding their kitchen. Arianna really thought she couldn’t have been happier than in that moment. Was there a better feeling than knowing you were about to start a family with the love of your life? There was going to be a person living and existing and they were a product of their love.
Arianna couldn’t help the lone tear that strolled down her cheek at the memory. She hoped that one day she and Zayn could go back to being that happy.
⊰ v. what if ⊱
It had been years since Arianna and Ashton decided to rekindle whatever they had in the GYHAB house. Yeah, she had ended up with Zayn, but after getting cheated on three times, Arianna had to end it while they were still on the show. She knew that she deserved better but she knew she wasn’t going to find it there, so she left the show soon after her breakup with Zayn. It was a bit random the way Arianna and Ashton ended up crossing paths again, but she was happy it happened.
“I’m actually unemployed and hating on MTV. I don’t know why they would invite me to their awards show but here I am,” Arianna joked with the people she managed to keep in contact with from the show. While Arianna was grateful for the opportunities and experiences the show gave her, they did it at the expense of her personal life. Ari had never lower than when the producers turned her relationship with Cody to shit. When she found out that even though Zayn and Arianna had wanted to sleep together, it was ultimately because of a task or consequence or whatever. Hell, Ashton leaving probably had something to do with them too. The thought of her favorite Aussie made her smile sadly because if he had stayed, maybe her love life wouldn’t feel so hopeless. She missed him so much she could still hear his voice in her head. Or Arianna was delusional enough to think that she did because all of her friends turned to greet him and the other 5SOS members. Arianna hadn’t seen him in a year and a half. They were probably two different people than when they liked each other. “Hey,” she greeted softly, the awkwardness in her tone loud and clear. Ashton attempted to lighten the mood between them with some small talk, but Arianna couldn’t help but feel somewhat angry at him. “Sorry that I’m being so awkward. It’s almost like I’m not 100% over you disappearing without a word before we were supposed to go on our first and after we slept together.” He pointed out that she didn’t have much room to talk because she was in between guys at the same time which just made her laugh because he did have a point. This lead to them having an hour-long conversation about everything that happened between them. “I was totally going to go to the after party because you know I’m such a party animal, but if you’re up for it, I’m still willing to go on that date with you.” Arianna was taking a shot in the dark here. They hadn’t been talking that long at all, but Ari had a gut feeling that she couldn’t let Ashton go again. She didn’t know why but she just couldn’t. And she didn’t. Their first date was amazing. The blue-eyed girl hadn’t really been on a first date before but she was happy it was with Ashton. The two of them grabbed some pizza and walked around to see the sights of New York. It was a very romantic city at night. They sat in Central Park, watching over the city. “Shouldn’t you be getting back? I don’t want your band members to think I’ve kidnapped you,” she laughed, meeting his gaze. Call it cheesy, but as they looked at each other it was if there was something pulling Arianna towards Ashton. Their faces were mere centimeters apart “Am I totally crazy for this?” But she wasn’t given an answer. Instead, she was given a kiss.
Arianna smiled at the memory because if MTV hadn’t invited her unemployed and angry ass to their awards ceremony, who knows when Arianna and Ashton would’ve talked again if at all. “Mum, watch me!” the eldest of her twins called out to her. “I’m watching! Go on!” She called back. Their daughter was sitting on Ashton’s lap cheering on her brother and his little league team. She looked over at Ash, taking her hand into his, and thinking about how amazing her life turned out.

Luna sat comfortably on the cool marble floor, leaning over acrylic plastic to wipe away the crimson sheathing her boyfriend’s skin. She was unsure of how to react when her string of curses about how stressful school was becoming was cut short as her eyes laid on Prince covered in bruises and blood sitting on her couch. That was what came with being a drug dealer, but Luna never thought she’d see the day where Prince was in this condition. There was no one who could even begin to imagine him like this. The heat from the water he stood in radiated through her skin as she treated his wounds, placing kisses after she was done before moving to the next where she would repeat the process. Luna had started to become damp from the running water, but taking care of Prince trumped her peeve about wearing wet clothes. “Dios mío, novio, you have to be careful. As much as I like taking care of you, I don’t like doing it like this,” she spoke softly, placing a kiss of equal measure to his cheek. “Don’t take too long in here. I have a paper due in five hours, and I’m still not done healing your battle wounds,” she smiled, giving him a playfully threatening look as she retreated to her bedroom. Her mind seemed to be at a million different places, and it was now Luna realized that Prince had priority over all of those things. School, work, even her family — Prince was the most important. Even now, she was willing to get an F on her paper in order to make sure that he was okay. Her laptop sat atop her thighs, three of the five pages being done with an hour and a half to finish when Prince finally emerged from the shower dressed in the sweatpants she had left for him. “I was beginning to think you drowned in there,” Luna joked lightly, sitting her computer aside to grab the first-aid kit instead. “You know, I used to have to do this a lot for my brother,” she muttered as her hands busied themselves in finishing her earlier job. “After he got into that gang stuff, he used to come home all beaten up.” Luna couldn’t bring herself to finish the story, but she was only speaking to fill the silence between them. Maybe her stories about her brother would somehow cheer him or make him feel better. Her hazel eyes locked in with his, giving him a small smile, leaning in so their lips were mere centimeters apart. Her hand made its way to his jaw, her thumb hovering lightly over the mark that rested at the corner of his mouth. “Mire este, this is going to scar, babe.” A smile had overtaken her features and a laugh shook her body, pulling away from Prince. “I tried to pull a you on you, but I just couldn’t take myself seriously.” Luna was really trying her best to get him to at least crack a smile but decided to give up as she leaned in to press a kiss to his bruised temple. She encouraged him to lay in between her legs with his head resting on her chest while she attempted to finish her paper, deciding that if he wanted to tell her what happened today, he’d do it whenever he felt like it (also known as when he thinks Luna stops feeling sorry for him.)
⊰ v. no reason ⊱
Maybe Iola had overreacted when Jason had admitted to her that he had slept with someone else when they were broken up but she couldn’t help it. Blame it on the fact that she was a Scorpio and they were notorious for being jealous and possessive assholes. She couldn’t stand the thought of someone having Jason in that way because when they were broken up that’s how she felt. Iola had plenty of opportunities to hook up with other guys at college but every time she thought about Jason. She thought about how she only wanted to share that part of her with him. He was the only one deserving of it. Iola had just gotten back from the hospital, having needed to get stitches because she accidentally broke the ceramic mug in her hand when he dropped the bomb on her. In hindsight, she should’ve known squeezing it to contain her anger was only going to make the situation worse. The faux-blonde knew that Jason wouldn’t be talking to her, but she really wanted to fix things with him. “Jason,” Iola started, however, he just ignored her. She had changed into one of his shirts, the end of it dancing around her thighs. Iola laid down on her stomach on their bed to face Jason even though he was obviously trying to ignore her. “I know you probably don’t want to speak to me — and you don’t have to — but I just wanted to say that I’m sorry. When you told me that you slept with someone else, it made me scared. Like maybe you found someone that you loved just as much as me. Maybe someone better. I shouldn’t have projected the way I feel onto you. When we weren’t together, I felt like I didn’t want anyone else because you were the only person. You were and are the only person that loved me for me and not for what I could give to you. I couldn’t let anyone else in like that, but that doesn’t mean you had to or have to feel the same way I did, so I’m sorry.” She got up to get something out of her purse and left it next to him before she headed to the living room. It had been a gift card to some local art store. She thought it would cheer him up a bit because she had done the same thing after their “first date.” Iola had insisted on taking him out to replace everything she accidentally destroyed but he didn’t ask for much. So she decided to secretly get him a gift card to the store and slip it into the sketchbook that he did pick. She had left on a note on the inside telling him that they were even, but if he really wanted to make it up to her then he could text her and take her on a real date. It was quite bold of her, but Iola knew even then that she wanted him. Her note this time consisted of a simple sorry and if he would let her make it up to him by taking him out.
⊰ july 17th ⊱
Arianna was terrible when it came to staying mad at Zayn. He would fuck up but in the end, she was always there to coddle him for the mistakes he made. Zayn had said something during an argument about regretting proposing to her which sent her over the edge. No one had asked him to propose to her. He had done it because he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, right? Regardless, Zayn’s words hurt and with everything else going on in their life right now, Arianna had had enough. Louis had mentioned a few days ago that he was going back home to see his family and invited her, and now she was going to take him up on his offer. Zayn, of course, tried to convince her to stay but when she told him no, he got more desperate. He started saying things that made her feel sorry for him, and so now here she was with him wrapped up in her arms. “I love you, Zayn, I’ll be back,” Arianna tried to reassure him. “I just need some space to clear my head. But I’ll come back; I always come back.” She rubbed soothing circles on his back, completely disregarding that Zayn was the one who fucked up in the first place. Arianna figured that she loved Zayn and never wanted to see him upset even if it was from her reaction to his actions. It was a horrible trait that she needed to fix. She placed small kisses to his forehead before letting him go to grab her bags. “Just remember I love you, okay?” Arianna said before giving him one final kiss and walking out of their front door.
⊰ v. what if ⊱
The crackling sound of silence filled the room as Arianna and Ashton simply looked at each other. Arianna didn’t mean for things with him to go as far as they did. What happened between them that day Ari showed up at his door was never meant to happen again, but it did. Ari began having an affair. She thought that they were being low key about it, but when Zayn had spotted a hickey on her, and she was left with no choice except, to tell the truth, all of her fears had become a reality. Ari didn’t know about the future of her marriage which should’ve been her main concern, but hearing about what her husband had gone out and done made it seem less important. Ashton was there for her whenever her relationship became too much to handle, and she felt it was her obligation to take care of him. There were times Ashton would get in his feelings about his affair with Arianna. She knew that it was wrong for her to give Ashton false hope about them ending up together especially now that Zayn knew and she was still coming around, but in her defense, she never said that she would even leave her husband for him. She would only run to him when her marriage turned to shit and sleep with him with the occasional non-sexual encounter. Who would possibly get the wrong idea about that? Arianna knew she was a shitty person, so she tried her best to make him feel better. She had brought by all of his favorite stuff, hoping he would it get him out of his rut. “Look who brought you vegemite?” She said cheerfully, finally breaking the silence. Arianna cuddled into Ashton’s side before throwing on his favorite movie. Nothing Arianna was doing was working but at least she was trying, right? She frowned softly to herself before taking Ashton’s hands to make him look at her. “I know I’m the world’s worst person in the world, but I just want what’s best for you and to see you happy. I wanted to have my cake and eat it too. I’ll leave if you want me to. I’ll do anything if it’ll make you feel better.”

Totally forgot if I sent you a song already but if I didn't here's this! 'Modern Love' by David Bowie ~grownups-are-the-real-monsters
I love this song afshjkdal thank youThis is kind of messy and half finished but it was getting too long so
Word count: 2348
Pairings: Reddie, Stenbrough, Benverly
It was their lastday of high school, the final bell had rung and they all ran likehell to the parking lot and piled into Richie’s truck, Richie andEddie in the front seats, Mike, Ben, and Beverly in the back, andStan and Bill holding on for dear life in the cargo tray, the radioblasting Hungry Like The Wolf while they all screamed along, all of them absolutely overflowing with euphoria and a love for life. They drove straight to the Barrens without anyone even needing tosuggest it, it just felt so right thatthey would end up there after all these years. Intheir minds that was their starting point, where four had become fiveand then six, and then eventually seven. Lucky seven, as Bill hadsaid that fateful day, as they watched Henry Bowers scramble off onhis hands and knees following that rock war. Richie still had a smallscar on his forehead from a stone that had damn near knocked himunconscious, now hidden by a mess of blackcurls, but still a glorious reminder of their triumph.
Theypulled up on the side of theroad and jumped out of thevehicle, towing their backpacks that they had filled inpreparation that morning withfood and alcohol (but mostly alcohol), acouple picnic blankets, and Richie’s brand new boom-box that he hadbeen saving up for since junior year. Theyknew that evening was goingto be theirs, and the rest ofthe world, every problem and bad memory and all the pain they hadgone through, it all just wouldn’t exist.
Theyflew, hooting and hollering, through the trees to the clearing alongthe Kenduskeag stream, the same spot where an eleven year old BenHanscom had run into a much smaller Eddie Kaspbrak having an asthmaattack, and where they had later built the best damn dam in theworld. Where Richie Trashmouth Tozierhad mortified both Eddie andStan as they watched him and Bill trudge through the greywater inthat sewer pipe. It’s where Bill had first kissed Beverly and whereBeverly had first kissed Ben as confused lovestruck teenagers. It’swhere fifteen year old Mikehad captured a blurry photograph of a very surprised and cluelessEddie falling backwards into the water after an acne-ridden Richieleant in to kiss him, and another where Eddie had pulled Richiein after him by the collar ofhis shirt and kissed him back. It’s where first Stan, and then Bill, had come out to the group in junior year, and a week later confessedthey had been seeing each other in secret for months, and where therest of them tried their best to act like it was news. And so, somuch more. That place was theirs, and it always would be.
Theyset up their things, Stan and Bill laying out the blankets, Beverly,Ben, and Mike pulling countless bottles and cans out of everyone’sbags and grouping them together on the ground next to the boom-box.Richie and Eddie had already made it clear they weren’t going to beof any help, as Richie hadEddie thrown over his shoulder, pounding his fists in protest againsthis back and screamingat him to let him go asRichie spun around in circles, cackling like a lunatic. Richiereceived a punch in the stomach after Eddie managed to squirm out ofhis grasp, causing him to double over in pain but still laughing allthe while.
“Canyou two hold out on trying to kill each other for one goddamnafternoon?” Beverly had teasedas she shoved a beer into Richie’s hand and a cigarette into theother.
“Yeah, spaghetti man, let’s save all this pent-up aggression for thebedroom,” he winked and leant down towards Eddie, making sloppykissing noises.
“You’refucking disgusting,” the shorter boy scoffed, rolling his eyes andstomping off to where the drinks were. Hesettled on a lukewarm wine cooler and joined Ben on one of theblankets.
Thesun hung low in the sky, slowly painting new colours across theclouds, and they all talked and laughed for hours until eventuallynight came and stars started to litter the heavens above them. Mikeand Bill had built a small fire for light and warmth, and they all atone point or another moved until they were all surrounding it,looking around at each other in varying states of intoxication, litup by the dancing orange flames, all thinking something along thelines of I am so ridiculously in love with these people, asthey reminisced fondly on certain memories and cringed at certainothers.
Thesong on the stereo faded into another, and Richie shot to his feet asthe guitar riff started.
“Ohgod, this fucking song!” Beverly squealed as he grabbed her handsand stood her up.
/ I catch thepaper boy / But things don’t really change / I’m standing in the wind/ But I never wave bye-bye /
Theystarted dancing together, in some strange, out of time, overexaggerated waltz, spinning and jumping around and singing along verymuch out of tune.
/ Never gonnafall for modern love / Walks beside me / Walks on by / Gets me to thechurch on time /
“Thisfucking song,” Stan muttered with a dopey smile on his face, leaning over to bury his face in Bill’s shoulder.
“Thisfucking song,” Eddie groaned, burying his own face in hishands, and Ben and Mike exchanged amused glances, both wearingshit-eating grins.
Ofcourse it had been Beverly’s idea. Stan’s sixteenth birthday and theywere going to celebrate in the barn on Mike’s family’s property.Richie had managed to sneak a mostly full bottle of vodka from hisparent’s liquor cabinet, Eddie and Bill spent the day sweeping andgetting rid of cobwebs and disinfecting the old couches that werestored in there, Mike and Ben spent the day baking, (though Mike didmost of the work and Ben just happily followed instructions when theywere given), and Beverly allowed Stan to drag her around to all ofhis favourite birdwatching spots in town for the whole day, listeningto him talk and laughing when he got overly excited when he thoughthe saw something new, and to her surprised she really enjoyedherself, so much so that she almost forgot about the party and theyshowed up twenty minutes after they were supposed to and completelyruined the surprise, but Stan had to hold back tears when he saw themall standing there nonetheless.
Theyhad pooled some money together to buy him new binoculars seeing ashis old ones were being held together with duct tape, and Richie hadmade a few mix-tapes with some rather obnoxious and inappropriatevoice messages between the songs, and Mike and Eddie put together asmall scrapbook with copies of photos of them all together. He hadcried then, and they all crowded him in a group hug which only madehim sob more, and they all just held on to each other for a minute ortwo until he recollected himself. They cut and ate the cake, it waschocolate and almost sickeningly sweet but too damn good to not eat,and then things started to get a little messy.
Stantook the first shot from a red solo cup, throwing his head backdramatically as he did, swallowing and scrunching up his face as theliquid burned the back of his throat.
“Fuckinghell, that’s gross,” he spat out once he was confident it wasn’tcoming back up again, “why do people do this?”
Richiehad laughed and swung his arm around Stan’s neck.
“You’llfind out, my friend,” he answered as he poured six more shots forthe rest of them, and hoisted one up in the air, “a toast to Stanthe Man, that glorious bastard.” The rest of them lifted theirplastic cups up in response, and they all threw back their drinks.
Twohours later, the vodka was all but empty, and though they had allobjectively had too much to drink, Eddie was probably the worstculprit. He had decidedly brought it on himself to give them all aprivate concert, standing on the couch, unbalanced and wobbling allover the place, a very intense expression on his face as he serenadedthem to the music that was playing.
Beverlyhad her head resting on Ben’s shoulder and his arms wrapped aroundher waist as they swayed along, giggling their heads off as theywatched Eddie almost fall off the couch multiple times, (it hadgotten to the point where Mike had moved the cushions from the othercouches for him to land on when he would undoubtedly face-plant).
Richieand Mike were sitting on the floor, singing along and cheeringwhenever a song finished. Stan and Bill were off in their own corner, partially obscured from view, the two were probably the least drunkout of all of them and they were having a very nervous discussionwhich would lead to their first kiss later that night.
/ It’s not reallywork / It’s just the power to charm / I’m still standing in the wind/ But I never wave bye-bye /
Eddiewas very dedicated to the bit, holding an empty cup as a microphoneas he slurred out the lyrics.
“That’smy fucking boyfriend, dude,” Richie had said to Mike througha dopey, lovestruck grin, before standing up and stumbling over toEddie and putting his hands up on his waist.
“Putsmy trust in G- Richie!” he whined as Richie started to tug atthe hem of his shirt in a weak attempt to get him off the couch.
“C'mere,”Richie slurred, balling up the material in his fists, “c'mere babe,Eds, Eddie Spaghetti.”
Eddiestarted to protest but lost his balance for a second, having to holdhimself up against Richie’s shoulders. Richie took the opportunity towrap his arms around his waist and pick him up and move him to theground, without letting him go.
“Richiiiiiiieeeeeee,”Eddie sulked, stomping his foot dramatically “I was doingsomething.”
Richiesmirked and tilted his head down to kiss him, which Eddie immediatelyescalated, grabbing his face and sloppily biting on his bottom lip
“Geta room, guys,” Beverly teased, and Ben hid a laugh in her shoulder.
/ No confessions/ No religion / I don’t believe in modern love /
Stankissed Bill first, interrupting a conversation that neither of themwere really keeping track of. His hand ghosted over Bill’s cheek, eyes closed, heart racing faster than it ever had. It took Bill amoment to even figure out what was happening and it was over by thetime he did, Stan looking at him expectantly, worry written on hisface. Bill had blinked at him a few times, lips parted, feeling ablush creep up his neck. And then they were kissing again, neither ofthem knew who initiated it that time.
Mikelooked over a little later to see Stan sitting in Bill’s lap, but atthat point his vision was pretty foggy and he wasn’t thinking verycommonsensical so he just shrugged it off and forgot about it.
“Haveyou told him yet?” Beverly asked, cigarette in hand, sitting nextto Richie at the edge of the water. The others were all still aroundthe fire when Richie had pulled Bev off to the side to smoke, butreally to talk.
“Notyet,” he replied, pulling on his cig and letting the smoke filterout a small gap in his lips, “honestly I don’t really know what Iwould say.”
“That’dbe a first for you,” she smirked, and Richie gave an offended gaspand punched her lightly on the arm. She laughed and took a long drag.“But really, he needs to know. Not gonna get easier the longer youwait.”“I know that, Bev, but things are just so perfect rightnow,” he turned his head to look over at the others. They werelaughing about something, just too far off to hear what it’s about, the music humming quietly in the background. “I feel like I’mfucking it all up, you know?”
“Don’tsay that, Rich.”
Hiseyes drifted over each of them, taking in how they looked in thefirelight. His chest felt tight and there was a lump in the back ofhis throat that he couldn’t get rid of no matter how many times hetried to swallow it down. He lingered on Eddie. Eddie Kaspbrak, thatdamn hypochondriac that he’d been in love with since middle school.Who’s house he spent more time in than his own. Who still keeps thatridiculous fanny pack in his closet even though he hasn’t used it inyears. Who he was sure he would have married on the spot if he wasasked.
“Idon’t want to leave him, Bev.”
Sheleant over and put her hands on his shoulder, forcing him to look ather. “Damn it Tozier, you’ve been given the best opportunity ofyour life here,” her voice is soft but still stern, “he’ll beokay. And besides, it’s only four hours away, yeah? Don’t tell me youthink he won’t be up there every chance he gets. You’re both toofucking whipped for each other.”
Helaughs, tears starting to well up behind his glasses. She pulls himinto a hug.
“HowI’m gonna live without your inspiring speeches, miss Marsh, I have noidea.”
“Shutup.”
Theyrejoined the group a bit later, Beverly taking her spot between Mikeand Ben and Richie pulling Eddie onto his lap. He pressed his faceinto the back of the shorter boy’s neck, causing him to squirm andhunch his shoulders a little.
“Ugh,you’re gonna make my clothes smell like cancer.”
“But you love me.”
“Debatable.”

The Perfect Prom
Peter Parker x reader
Summary: Prom has been more of a nightmare than the dream you hoped it would be. Thankfully, you have a friend like Peter.
Warnings: none
Word Count: 1.3k
A/N: Just me venting my feelings about my sucky prom. I wish I had a Peter in my life <3
[Y/N] = your name
You sat on the bottom step of the school’s stairwell, with your head in your right hand and your phone in your left hand. You gazed down on at the screen, and your eyes watered up again at the constant stream of incoming texts on the group chat.
Mia: [Y/N], you’re such a liar.
Caitlin: WTF are you trying to break up my friendship with Mia?
Shania: Why aren’t you answering [Y/N]? This is absolutely ridiculous!
With every new message, your heart sank more and more. For the past month, you had been attempting to plan the perfect senior prom with your best friends Caitlin and Shania, but the addition of Mia to the prom group was the catalyst for utter destruction. You had known she would cause problems, yet you still attempted to be happy for your other friends’ sakes. Pretty soon, as you had predicted, Mia was stirring up trouble, making sure to use you as the whipping post. Every time you attempted to state an opinion that was different from hers on the group chat, she accused you of being unreasonable and trying to cause drama. Caitlin and Shania, the people you had considered your best friends, eventually joined in on her new found fun. Life had become unbearable and lonely.
“Hey, you okay?” a familiar voice asked from above you.
When you looked up, you saw Peter Parker gazing down at you with a sympathetic smile. He was a close friend of yours—almost a crush, though you would never admit that.
You shrugged your shoulders in response, so he used the gesture as a sign to sit down. You wiped your eyes, hoping he wouldn’t notice that you had been crying.
“Mr. Mills asked me to come check on you. You’ve been gone for most of the period,” he said.
You looked away and muttered, “They’re going at it again.”
“Oh, I see,” he said. “You know, for all they’ve been putting you through, do you seriously still want to go to prom with them? I mean, this is the third time this month you’ve had to leave in the middle of Calc.”
You huffed, “I don’t know…I mean I kind of have to...I said I would, and if I don’t, they’ll start blasting me for stirring up trouble and leaving right after the damage was done.”
“I hate that they treat you like this…You don’t deserve friends like that, you know that right?” he said.
He tried to catch your eyes, but you averted your gaze.
“[Y/N] look at me,” he commanded as he shifted so that he was right in front of you. “You’re not a bad person like they want to make you feel. They’re just being mean. You are a good person, and I know prom is going to be great for you.”
You finally looked up at him with the corner of your lips shifting up. You whispered, “Thanks.”
You sat at the restaurant table, head propped up on your fist. You checked your phone’s screen for the time again. It was 7 pm. Your dinner reservations were for 6 pm. The girls were an hour late. You couldn’t believe that they were so late for a time that everyone had agreed on—actually you could believe it at that point. They were being selfish, just as they had been all month, and were taking forever taking their prom pictures. You had called several times, and each time they said they would be there in a few minutes, but they never came.
Your phone buzzed, and you quickly looked down, hoping they were saying that they’d arrived.
Peter: How’s prom?
You hesitated before replying.
[Y/N]: I wouldn’t know. They haven’t even shown up for dinner yet.
Peter: Are you serious?
[Y/N]: Yeah…
Peter: Where are you then?
[Y/N]: Where I have been for the past hour. The restaurant.
[Y/N]: You know, it’s a shame you decided to not go to prom… at least I could’ve hung out with you…
You waited for a reply, but one never came.
Great, you thought, one more friend not giving me the time of day. He’s probably out saving the day as Spider-Man or something.
After another ten minutes you heard some footsteps approach you. You looked up to see the Mia, Caitlin, and Shania standing above you all smiles. They swiftly sat down ensuring that you were sitting next to Mia, the person you hated the most in the world at the moment.
“We had such a great time taking pictures,” she said, devious smile glinting towards you. “Shame you weren’t there.”
“Yeah, well that’s cause I was here, where we said we’d meet over an hour ago. Now we’re late for prom.”
Caitlin, the one person in the world you trusted, cut you off, “[Y/N], if you wanted to get to prom earlier, you should have told us—we would have come earlier. So this is on you.”
You opened your mouth to reply that a reservation set did mean they were supposed to arrive earlier, but Mia flung her hand in front of your face to prevent you from speaking, as if to say ‘don’t cause any more drama than you already have.’
Thankfully, a waitress appeared and took your orders before you could explode.
You suddenly heard your phone buzz, and the girls glared at you for the apparent rudeness of having your phone on at the table. At that point, you didn’t care—you just needed a way to distract yourself from them.
Peter: Come out the back door.
Your eyes widened slightly as your cheeks started to grow hot.
“Let’s put all of our phones away ‘cause phones at the dinner table are, like, so rude,” Mia said in her accusing, fake-happy voice.
You were about to put your phone back in your purse, but you suddenly stopped. Looking at the three of them, you made up your mind that you wanted to be with the person that truly mattered to you and clearly cared about your well-being.
“I-I’m going to go to the bathroom,” you lied as you quickly pushed your chair back.
You ran as fast as your heels would allow towards the back exit. When you finally pushed the door open, you saw some white markings on the brick wall facing the exit.
“PROM?” was written, and upon further inspection, it appeared to be made out of long, thin strings. Your hands flew to your mouth to stifle a squeal just as a masked figure dropped in front of you upside down, hanging from a rope.
You gasped in surprise, “Peter, what’s this?”
“I’m asking you to prom,” he chuckled.
“But I thought you weren’t going.”
He shrugged, turning his head in embarrassment. “It would be a shame for someone as pretty as you to have a sucky prom—especially since you look extra beautiful tonight.”
A small smile formed on your face as you felt your cheeks begin to redden.
“Um, but seriously, can you give me an answer? This is kind of an uncomfortable position, and the blood is starting to rush to my head,” he said in a strained voice.
“Oh, right!” you startled. “Of course I’ll go to prom with you, Peter Parker!”
You couldn’t see underneath his mask, but you could tell that he had a giant grin on his face. Suddenly, you were lifted off your feet into the air. You watched in awe as the masked hero swung you through the city skyline.
After a few minutes, you heard Peter say above you, “By the way, when we get there, don’t worry about having to see the girls from your prom group.”
“Why?” you asked tentatively.
“I may or may not have webbed up their car’s wheels.”
You reached up, placing a kiss on his mask.
“Peter, you are amazing.”
