ok i only have one bad guys headcannon and it comes from me like, incredibly misunderstanding the kalina thing the first time that listened through sophmore year

kalina was apart of sandra lynn's adventuring party before she went to work with pok and thats why sandra lynn could see her (this totally does not work with story cannon but was what i thought actually happened for like, a month before i went back and relistened cuz uh. i got very confused)

so i know most people have fig as bi or pan(i even tend to draw her with bi pride shit) but i personally headcannon her as unlabeled. shes very against the system and i dont think she would be into labels as a whole thing just cuz it feels too limiting. she loves who she loves and its no one elses buisness. also poly. i dont have any strong headcannons about figs gender just that anyones interpretation of her is correct to me.

riz is aro/ace. its cannon so i vibe with it. i vibe with cis riz and ftm riz i just feel like he for sure is like. dude to the max. no matter what he is like. all dude all man. like spiderman.

adaine is an asexual lesbian. totally not based off of my best friend who is an asexual lesbian and incredibly adaine coded. for gender i think of her as agender with she/its pronouns mostly because of @20dimensionsoftangerine's properties of fics

fabian is bisexual but in the closet. not because of like internalized homophobia or toxic masculinity(which is dead now) but more because he doesn't realize that not everyone thinks of guys as inherently attractive and appealing. Once he figures it out he will be incredibly annoying about it but so is his right. he's cis and does drag sometimes

At nekropsii's recommendation, what are your thoughts on rage and hope as aspects?

Thank you for asking!! Alot of this is based in my own interpretation, research and opinions, here are my thoughts below the cut though:

Rage and Hope as aspects intrigue me, because they really do have a lot of potential. They're the pair of aspects I've studied the most and probably the only pair of aspects I've actively made posts on. A lot of difficulty in interpeting them as aspects comes down to 2 things:

Our canon Hope and Rage players to study consist of 4 with destructive classes, and a Page.

Every Hope and Rage player is a character that was either written to be a terrible person, a villain, or Hussie didn't like them and approached them in a mean-spirited way. Often some combination. Essentially, they're either the worst or a joke.

Also the description for Rage on the True Sign website was 100% written by a cop.

While you cannot for even a second evade the fact that Hussie's bigotry is a part of it, with @nekropsii having already made a good post (which I'm sure is the one you came from) on how the Makaras (and how the author wrote them) are a lot of the reason why Rage is the way it is, I do believe Hope and Rage as aspects can easily be written and interpreted in a way that doesn't have this problem and in my opinion more interesting and nuanced than the interpretation of Rage being "the most dangerous aspect".

Start by accepting that no Aspect inherently has more or less capacity for evil by default, because that'd be fucking dumb. They are supposed to be base elements of the universe. Even if the """""canonical""""" True Sign quiz says so, it logically wouldn't make sense. Rage, as long as you're not writing it like a bigot, has just as much capacity for good as Hope does, and Hope has as much capacity for bad as Rage does. After all, beliefs are destructive all the time, so someone having the power to overthrow belief systems is not necessarily bad. It's all dependent on the individual and how they're using that power.

I find one of the easiest ways to repair Rage as an aspect to some extent is to focus on it not as an aspect of inherent anger, instability or destruction, but rather of rebellion, skepticism and most of all iconoclasm. If the greatest power of Hope is to believe in things even against all odds, then the power of Rage would be to not simply accept things at face value even if it's the easier option. Rage is essentially the punk aspect. It is an essential and healthy concept.

The anger or pessimism facet of Rage as an aspect, if and when incorporated, should be handled with care. Don't just make a character angry for no reason other than because they're a Rage player; is there a source for it? Is their anger justified? Because it most certainly can be. Don't just needlessly villainize a character for feeling anything non-positive. And certainly don't needlessly villainize a character by writing them as a racist caricature, but that should be a given.

Hope, on the other hand, isn't necessarily a good or fun aspect to have. It's certainly not an evil one either, not inherently so (if your beliefs or insistence on pushing them on others are harmful enough it can be), but because the majority of Hope players are likely to be classes that directly challenge their sense of Hope in some way, they actually tend to be pretty miserable at points.

I mean Jake isn't even a destructive class and he spends a lot of his screentime nearing the end of the comic sad and somewhat unresolved. He gets called "Joke" more than once and doesn't even have it in him to correct it. And of course, the canonical and legitimate Worst Character in Homestuck title goes to a character who is a Hope player; Cronus Ampora.

In my studies on hope as a concept (and figure) in Greek myth I found that one thing vital to understanding, for example, the story of Pandora's Box, is that hope was not inherently seen as a good thing. It was more akin to "expectation". It was rather seen as an extension of human suffering. It's only later that views towards it became more positive. Remaining positive in adversity and staying true to your beliefs can most certainly be an incredibly good thing. But believing in or expecting things that simply are not true or will not come true can put you in a really bad place.

I think that understanding the Hope and Rage aspects as, at least in part, an extension of and/or response to suffering can help give them nuance. Two different tools to face adversity with. It's just a different stance of approach.

And I can't go without mentioning that having abilities based in what you do or do not believe in make them very interesting and powerful aspects. Granted, all aspects have the potential to be interesting and powerful. But just imagine making something real because you believe in it hard enough, or calling bullshit so hard that you de-power or even destroy the antagonist because you don't believe they could even have that kind of power. Not that that's an ability that you'd wake up at level 1 with, but y'know.

I think in all honesty that they're incredibly cool aspects on a conceptual level that never reached their full potential and probably realistically couldn't in their source material, partially because of the author's approach to them, and partially because the comic ended somewhat prematurely. Which is fine (the second part I mean) but it is worth keeping in mind.

again, not to be basic but poetry and music always hits me really hard and makes me feel things. probably because I grew up singing and around music and did a lot of poetry writing since I was in uni so I have a personal connection to the process

camellia ... what were you like when you were younger? do you think you've changed a lot?

depends on how young "younger" is! I think I'm a different person from the one I was last year so I can only imagine what a child blaire would think if she could see me now! but also, being honest, at my core I'm still that little girl who wants to get validation, do well, and make people proud

aloe vera ... what's something (mundane) you really want to experience in life?

dancing in the living room with the love of my life, going to the farmers market with them, going on adventures with them, just living life with them

40. Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets?

both are divine but there's a special something to being up in the early hours of the morning. listening to the world wake up as you literally watch it happen with the sun. hearing all of the different kinds of birds (bc there are so many here). sunrises my absolute loves.

55. Can you do any accents other than your own?

i've perfected very specific accents. my best ones are the classic 1950's southern bell accent and the early 1900s industrial-revolution-chimney-sweep-lad accent. also the classic pirate 'i've been on the seas for 50 yrs' accent, which is vaguely scottish? i can do a couple different british accents like the more upper-middle class english accent. on a good day i can half do irish and southern welsh, but that's up for contention.

you can blame me playing dungeons and dragons for my strange collection of accents.

Electra Headcanons!

★ Sad ★ - She is touch-starved and hesitant to initiate physical contact with other cats apart from Munkustrap. However, as she grows up, her daring nature leads her to become the initiator of cuddles once she overcomes her initial reservations. (more info here)

■ House ■ - Electra never had a human owner, but she was adopted into a cat cafe where she met Etcetera, and they became inseparable. Other cats in the cafe included Tumblebrutus, Pouncival, and Quaxo, among others.

Jellyorum would occasionally visit the kittens at the cafe, which naturally introduced Electra to her. From then on, Jelly would bring Electra along with the other kittens to the junkyard, making it Electra's second home.

☠ Angry ☠ - Electra can get grumpy or moody when she feels left out, as she has a fear of missing out (FOMO). If it appears that the other kittens left her behind at the cafe, she can become a bit grumpy.

Additionally, she can get annoyed with some human customers, particularly when they try to pick her up against her will.

♡ Romantic ♡ - I don't have any particular Electra ships that I'm crazy about, so here's Elecetera.

Cettie was Electra's first crush, but she was too young to fully comprehend that she desired more than just friendship with Cettie. As they both grew older and developed feelings for Tugger, Electra thought it would be better to spare Cettie's feelings and pursue someone else, not wanting to risk their friendship or her own heart.

They started dating during their teenage years, as Tumble couldn't keep his mouth shut about Etcetera's feelings, which gave Electra the confidence to confess her own feelings.

And then they became even more inseparable, if that's even possible. <3

♥ Family ♥ - I'm inconsistent with these, but I like to play around with the idea of Electra as Bombalurina's daughter or Jemima's sister.

I like thinking of her as a Bombastrap or Tuggerlurina kitten, but the concept of her being one of Macavity's kids is also intriguing.

Kasumi/Jack: Oh yes! I think Kasumi is one of the most empathetic people on the ship. She seems to be so good at reading people. Which isn‘t a surprise because she watches people a lot.. I think she‘d see through Jack‘s facade pretty quick- that there‘s a soft, vulnerable, caring person underneath that rough exterior. I ship them very much.

I don't typically want to write specific AUs because I'm scared the world will hate my headcanons. Lucy is definitely a big spender. And it's not even because of any kind of lavish taste or nobleborn habits from growing up rich. It's just a combination of the fact that being a wizard is expensive and he wants so many spells as soon as gets access to new levels and the fact that he loves trinkets and minor magical curios and giving gifts to his friends.

Beyond that money has no value to him, it is simply a means to acquire things and were there other ways to get them he would do so.

55. they’re seeing their greatest wish come true—what’s happening?

He's climbed the academic ladder of his career, acquiring promotion after promotion until he stands at the rank just below the Archmage.

He is well known and respected and his name is uttered the world around, not just for his accomplishments in his fields of study, the discoveries he has made and the spells he has published, but also for his reputation as an extremely capable and efficient fighter who's list of belief-defying feats stack as tall as himself, a reputation crafted by hand over years of hard work and many adventures.

He has an informal and trusting relationship with his Archmage mentor, whom he sees as a father figure and in return views him as a son, one he can be proud of.

As well as a familiar and competitive yet still friendly relationship with his peers, a group consisting of the top students from the other colleges and nations. His Archmage has planned to retire and he has been named as next in line to his seat upon the council.

56. who would they trust with their life, unequivocally?

At this point in time? There truly is only one. The groups Goliath Paladin, Thaavia Godbarter. She has already saved his life a number of times, and tended his wounds more times than he can count. It was she that saved him when he lost his arm, taught him how to get used to the prosthetic, helped him put it on in the mornings and brushed his hair while he adjusted and regained his finer motor skills with it.

57. do they see value in the laws of where they live?

Lucy is somewhere between True Neutral and Choatic Neutral, and views the laws more like suggestions. He will try not to break them frequently or openly but won't hesitate to throw them aside when they're inconvenient or he disagrees with them.

58. how often do they swear? do they mind when others swear?

I don't think a single day goes by without the instictive curse when something inevitable goes wrong, it's not a loud display of foul language, just under breath mutterances and general curses.

59. what’s an element of their philosophy that you disagree with?

That you should expect little from others and try to do all the work yourself to make sure it's done right. I am not a wizard and other peoples responsibilities are not my problems. I am not gonna pick up after others due to lack of faith.

17. they’re crying—what did it take to make them cry?

Oh shit that's a really good question. I'm not sure honestly, I can't really share his backstory yet for reasons but it's pretty fucking bleak tbh, perhaps the permanent death of his most trusted companion and friend, his familiar.

18. what dish brings back the best memories for them?

Goulash, a hot, spicy beef goulash in autumn or winter. His childhood was far from good but he remembers the good times and the warm meals he did have.

19. what sparks genuine, unadulterated rage in them?

The mistreatment of children, the burning of books, the hoarding of knowledge against the interests of others and greed. Entities that prey on the weak and defenceless or take more than they need to the detriment of others.

20. what attracts them to someone—platonically and/or romantically, anything counts.

A willingness to listen and learn and an interest in sharing knowledge. It doesn't matter whether they're smart or not, it's about attitude over intelligence. He'll take the curious barbarian over the snobby wizard any day of the week. It's all about effort and the intent to use knowledge for good.

They have a couple ideas, some poetic, some ironic, certainly not of old age that's for sure, Hags are immortal and do not age, and therefore neither do Hexbloods. It will probably be self sacrifice, assassination, or cannibalism.

I am Habib from Gaza. I am married and have four children: Menna, 12 years old, Adam, 10 years old (suffering from quadriplegia), Maria, 6 years old, and Ezz, one year old. Although they are young, they have survived previous wars, but this current war is the most difficult of all. This is a war of genocide, and the difficulty of the war lies in the inability to meet the needs of my son Adam, who needs special care.

Over the past ten months, we have been caught in the crossfire of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Our once peaceful home in Khan Yunis has been reduced to rubble, and now we find ourselves displaced in Deir al-Balah, living in squalid conditions in a makeshift tent on the streets. The devastation not only deprived us of our physical shelter, but also destroyed my livelihood - the once thriving business that supported our family's well-being, is now in ruins. The daily struggle for survival is exacerbated by the scarcity of basic necessities such as clean water, adequate sanitation and basic medical supplies

Our home was the place where we found hope and safety, and where we made precious memories. Losing him was like losing years of our lives.

Not only that, they destroyed my source of livelihood, burned it, and demolished it with bulldozers, and today I am without a home and without a job. I was working in a store I owned that met the needs and expenses of my family

Living in tents is miserable. There is a lack of drinking water, hot sun rays, and strange insects that have terrified my children.
